The JR Sport Brief Show on the Infinity Sports Network. I'm coming to you live from Atlanta, Georgia. Thank you so much to everybody listening all over North America. We appreciate you.
Okay, shout outs to people at home. People at work. People going to and from people doing things they maybe are not supposed to be doing. I won't tell it, ain't none of my business.
Okay, I'll tell you what is my business: being here on the air raves with you. for one more hour. This show gets started every weekday, 6 p.m. Eastern. Three.
Pacific. I am in Atlanta, Georgia. Thank you to our producer. He is in New York City. It's Ryan Botcher.
So, whether you're in New York, Atlanta, Maybe you're in Hawaii, maybe you're on the other side of an ocean, wherever you are. Thank you for being here.
Okay, we've discussed a lot. A lot, a lot. Congratulations, Tarek Schooble. American League Cy Young Award winner. Congratulations to Paul Skeens.
National League Cy Young award winner Skubel goes back to back. Good for him.
Okay, congratulations. Also, we talked about a Bradley Beale has a broken hip. It's just is he bad luck? You know, I'm not going to put that on that man. I apologize.
But why does he keep getting hurt? Like when's the last time you heard about an NBA player breaking his hip? This guy got a broken hip, and now he's going to be out for the rest of the season. The Clippers are cursed, but we knew this. Already.
We got A.J. Brown. Just Driving everybody crazy about his targets, the Eagles offense. You would think the Eagles Are two and seven. It's seven and two.
And there's always something to complain about. Just always. Jameis Winston, he's not complaining. He's going to get the start over Russell Wilson for the New York Giants.
Now that Jackson Dart is in concussion protocol again, Of course, at the end of the show we'll talk about a few things that took place this day in sports history.
So much to discuss.
So much to get into. And then I gave you a top six list.
Some of the worst trades In sports and History And number one. I told you about the Minnesota Vikings thinking Herschel Walker was going to cure their ills.
Meanwhile they went into the toilet and the Dallas Cowboys started a dynasty. But trust me, every day that goes by I think Deshaun Watson actually might be one of the worst trades. ever So we got more to do as the show continues on. Eight eight eight seven ten four I S N That's 888-710-4ISN. Shout outs to Dan in Texas, Kevin in Baltimore, Jonathan in Birmingham.
I see you guys on the line. If you are on the phone line, so just wait patiently. I'll get you on if you can wait. 888-710-4ISN. That's 888-710-4ISN.
I told you it was a day. A.J. Brown has dominated a lot of the news later in the day. I guess he was bored. He's playing video games with streamers.
And he pretty much said that uh You know, he's his tenure right now with the Eagles is not going good offensively. And he pretty much said as well: if you have me in your fantasy team, I ain't getting the ball, so you might as well drop me. Listen to what he told a kid on a video game stream earlier today. Hey, but look, everything be good, though. Like, you know what I'm saying?
Everything be straight. You know what I'm saying? Mental good, kids good. You know what I'm saying? Wife good, everything.
Where have you been? No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I was just checking out. Like, you bought all. Like, I still gotta, you know what I'm saying?
I gotta check up. You know what I'm saying? Like, yeah, yeah. You know what I'm saying? Hey, family, good?
Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Everything else? No. Everything's gonna click, bro.
Chat, chill a little. Everything's gonna click, bro. Trust me, How you been? Yeah, yeah, struggling, brother.
Well, how you been struggling? Everything outside my family is a bleep show. And so of course Nick Siriani had to answer questions about this, and he was asked whether or not A.J. Brown is a distraction, and listen to what Nick Siriani said. No, I don't think so.
Again, it can only go from your interactions with everybody and the way they go about their work on a daily basis that you guys don't get you guys aren't able to see. But no, it's business as usual. It's business as usual.
Okay? Nick Siriani was asked again by the media and he got sick and tired of him. Listen to this. Yeah, guys, I'm close to being done answering these questions with us. Like, he's working hard, and he is a big part of this game plan, and it'll be a big part of the game plan going forward.
And he's working like crazy when he's here, and I'm excited to have him. Man, what a disaster. This team is seven and two. And they're just grinding games out. The offense hasn't hit its stride.
And you got AJ Brown on social media complaining.
Now he's making comments on the stream.
Well, after Nick Siriani spoke, AJ Brown spoke at his locker. He was mobbed and surrounded by media. And he basically said, No, I'm talking about the offense and whole. I'm not saying that, you know, it's Jalen Hurts' fault. I'm not saying that I'm mad or upset.
I'm just mad at the entire offense. And then they asked him if. he's misunderstood. And then this is his response to that. I don't care if I'm misunderstood, right?
I stand up in front of it and follow that sword over and over again. It's about doing what we're supposed to be doing on offense. And if we are really in this business, we're trying to get better. We gotta do what we gotta do. And not just say, oh, it's about win.
So as long as we got the win, it's cool. No, that ain't what we do. No, you cannot do that. Not in this league. We gotta continue to get better.
We gotta do what we have to do on the offense to help the defense, to help the special team.
Well, apparently he thinks part of the the Philadelphia Eagles getting better is to go on social media. and complain. On Twitter, on video streams, video game streams. This is how he thinks the team can get better. Maybe they're not listening to him in the classroom or on the field.
I need the ball more. Maybe he needs to just. Complain on social media. I think that works for some people. I guess he's putting pressure on the Philadelphia Eagles to get him the ball.
The next game for the Philadelphia Eagles will be Sunday night football against the Detroit Lions. They're going to need that man. They're going to need A.J. Brown to go out there and get the ball because we know Amon Raz St. Brown, he's going to get a lot of balls thrown his way.
We know the Lions put up a lot of points, and all the Eagles try to make everything a rock fight. Yeah, they gonna need more than ten points to uh go out there and beat them. 888710-4ISN. That's 888-710-4IS. And speaking.
Of my top six list. We got a lot of callers here who have some thoughts on some of the best, well, not best, these are some of the worst trades. that they have ever witnessed in their Lives, okay?
Some of the worst trades. Ever 888-710-4ISN. Let's go to Dan from Texas. You and the JR Sport Re Show, Dan. What's up?
Hi, JR. How are you doing, sir? I'm terrific. What's on your mind?
Well, you're talking about the w uh well, you mentioned the Clippers a minute ago, and we're talking about the worst trades and all.
Well, I got a little spin on this. a long time Laker fan, uh Chris Paul was headed their way. And of course that would have done some damage in the uh In the ranks of everything with that backcourt and the Lakers and David Stern said, No, you don't. And I kind of, as a, again, long-term or excuse me, long-term Laker fan, I was like, what the hell? I wanted Chris Paul with that backcourt.
They just keep doing some showtime. you know, as a fan.
So Yeah, I can dig it. You you still heard about I know a lot of people bring up Stern and he was the de facto owner of the team at the time. Yeah, he could he he was it wasn't no funny business, it was no sneaky business. He was looking out for the franchise in Louisiana. Yeah, you know what gets reported.
It's like you got a grain of salt stuff, but I just thought Chris Paul and that backcourt bringing the ball up with that team. Whoa, it would have been a lot of fun as a Showtime, man.
Well, that's one trade that did not happen. Hey, Dan, thank you.
So I'm looking at it as the worst trade that did not happen, you know, more or less, more or less.
Well, we appreciate you for that, Dan. Thank you for calling from Texas, man. All right. Which I'm asked to do. No doubt.
We had one caller say, hey, the worst trade that might happen is Kyler Murray to the Saints and Danisan, one of the worst trades that. didn't happen was the fact that Chris Ball didn't get moved. to the Los Angeles Lakers. How about that? Eight eight eight seven ten four I S N.
That's 888-710-4ISN. Let's go to uh Kevin in Baltimore. You're on the JR Sportry show, Kevin. Go ahead. Hey JR, I hope I hope I didn't get this right.
But the worst thing that happened, one of the worst trades or pickup, was Albert Bell for the Baltimore Orioles. He became a cancer. And then his injury let the owner waste like a year or a half not picking up players because You had to wait him out. and not play him before he could collect on an insurance company. And the Orioles have never been right since then, except now I think they I think we're on the right track.
Well, Albert Bell was. He was just an angry fill-in-the-blank. all the way I've never heard a positive word said about uh Albert Bell, ever. And it was like with the bringing them into the Orioles, like Frank Robinson, Brooks Robinson, Jim Palmer, you know, I mean. It just it was terrible, the whole idea of that.
But I think he signed. I don't think he I think he might have signed with them. I don't think he was traded. That's why I said I might have made a mistake about that. He was miserable nonetheless, but I don't think he was he was traded from them.
Well, with the White Sox at him, I think he signed with the O's. Yes, he was with yeah, in Cleveland, I think. But yeah, I might have made a mistake about that. But the other thing is, people got to give this owner a chance. The owner last year was the first year he had anything to do with hiring people.
he bought the team like in I think in twenty three the In the middle of twenty-three seasons. Rubenstein, yeah. Yeah. And he seems to be a guy who's trying to be You know, he's trying and he's honest. And he says stuff like, I don't know this, I'm going to turn it over to my.
baseball people and you know, the people in Baltimore, if you don't come one hundred percent for a hundred you know every year I mean, they're like trying to bury our general manager, and he didn't injure everybody on the team, you know. You want everybody in Baltimore to be patient, Kevin, huh? Yes, I do, honestly. I know, and that's pretty a sad thing to say about Baltimore. It's not, you're a sports fan, so hey, forget the Orioles right now and hope that the Ravens can keep turning things around, okay?
Yes, sir. I got P.S. sales, and trust me, it's worth it just to see them are on the field. Ooh, must be nice paying for that personal seat license. Hey, Kevin, thank you for calling from Baltimore.
Okay, thank you. No, thank you. Listen, man, PSLs are like one of the biggest hustles ever. We're going to make you buy the house and then we're going to make you buy the seats to sit in the house. I'm like, damn, do I need to?
What a hustle that was when they started that crap. What, like 25, 30 years ago? Eight at eight seven ten four ISN. That's 888-710-4ISN. I guess everything is a hustle, right?
Everything is a hustle out here. What we got here? Sam is called.
Well, hold on. We got Jonathan from Birmingham. Go ahead, Jonathan. I see you, Sam. Don't move.
Go ahead, Jonathan. Hey JR, I'm not going to ask you how you're doing tonight because I know you're doing well. Thank you. I am calling about a trade that is a Braves related trade forty two years ago. And it's I wonder if you can guess what it is, back in nineteen eighty three.
An 83 name trade. 83. I can't guess what that is. My ass was in New York at the time. All right, Brett Butler.
Was uh a Solid outfielder for the Braves, 26 years old. And the Braves traded him for Len Barker, who was an average relief pitcher for the Cleveland Indians. Len Barker pitched to about a five ERA in three years with the Braves, and he had to quit baseball. I think he was injured. Brett Butler played 14 more years in the major leagues, one of the worst trades.
I was only 11 years old at the time. But even then, I knew. That was one of the worst trades I had ever seen. I was begging them not to trade Brett Butler, and they traded him. For Lennon.
At least you had. I mean, the Braves won the World Series a couple years ago.
Sorry. And I think they had a stretch in the 90s. Yeah. But that was a terrible trade. Also, just want to say congratulations to Drake Baldwin, first National League catcher to win rookie of the year since Buster Posey in 2011.
And I heard you talking about Philly earlier. I'm a Jalen Hurts fan. I'm a big Alabama fan, but I thought he got a raw deal at Alabama. I thought he was a better player. You don't want Tua?
You don't want Tua won the championship, Carl? No, I think Sabin had a decision to make. He had a decision to either keep Tua and Tua's brother or keep jailing, and he chose What he thought was the lesser of two evils, he kept Tua, and then Tua's brother transferred. Jalen ended up going to Oklahoma, had a great year with a Heisen Trophy finalist, and Tua got the bad.
Well, at least on a big league level right now, one guy got an NFL championship, the other guy is concussed. Listen, I'm still a Tua fan, but I've always been a Jalen guy.
Okay. All right. Well, good luck to Tua. He needs it. Thank you, Jonathan.
Appreciate you. Have a good night. You too. Yeah, I mean, Tuatanga Valoa is just You got a. It's trashing his teammates.
He wins one game, and everything is great. Tua is just. He's an interesting fellow. to say the least. Eight eight eight seven ten four IS and Sam is calling from Chicago.
You on the Gerald Sportbury. Show us up, Sam. How are you, JF? I'm terrific. What's up?
I got a couple for you. First of all, Ralph Ford.
Well, Sam, I got a lot of people, Sam. Give me that one trait that stands out to you. Go ahead, go. All right, fine. Early Brolio for Lou Brock, the Cubs back, I don't know when, traded Lou Brock for Ernie Broglio.
Okay, Thank you for taking us into the time machine. That's the one, that's the one that you wanted to bring up? No, I'm a Bears fan, so I'll go with the Panthers giving. you know, taking the number one overall pick for what turned out to be Bryce Young. and then giving the Bears Tyrick Stevenson, DJ Moore and Caleb Williams.
Okay. And a little bit more recent.
Well, thank you, Sam. Appreciate you for calling from Chicago. Appreciate it. Yeah, no problem. No doubt about it.
He's like, Damn, you taking us back to to Lou Brock?
Okay. Alright, maybe, maybe he watched him. He didn't sound that old. Maybe he was. 888-710-4ISN.
That's eight at eight seven ten four I S N And let's go to Pennsylvania. We got jobs here. You are in the JR Sport Break. Show us up, Josh. Not much.
You? But excuse me, what? Hello? Yeah, you're live on the radio. What's on your mind?
Oh, um I'd just like to talk about football.
Well yeah, that well this is a sports show.
Well go ahead. Yeah. What was I gonna say? Ah, I forgot. Hold on, Josh.
Hold on. Is he nervous? Bach, is he nervous? Is he okay? He's a little nervous.
Yeah. Josh, you okay? You alright? Yes. Yeah, I called before.
Um, this is my second time.
Okay. I don't. I mean, you want me to yell at you? What am I supposed to do? Are you going to insult me?
What are we doing here? Um, you're very nice. I just wanted to compliment. Oh, thanks. You wanted to compliment me on being nice?
Well, maybe I need to be mean, but what's on your mind? Um Uh Well, here's a better question. What the heck did you eat for dinner today? Did you eat dinner already? Oh yeah, um This is weird, but um I had chick-fil-a.
Yo, the Chick-fil-A is bad. I thought you were going to tell me something like Silence of the Lamb, so having Chick-fil-A is better. Yeah. So you're calling from Pennsylvania. What part of Pennsylvania are you calling from?
Um I don't need to know the block that you live on, but you can tell me east or west. Are you closer to Pittsburgh, Philly, Harrisburg? Where are you at? I'm closer to Baltimore. Oh, you're closer to Baltimore.
So are you a Ravens fan or you're a Eagles fan?
Okay. Ravens. It Yeah, it's okay, okay. Are you think they're gonna turn things around, or are they gonna suck the rest of the way? um turn things hopefully they turn things around.
Okay. All right. Would d have you ever played football, Josh? No, but I was in a marching band. Using a mar wh what instrument did you play in the band?
Doctor Fan. You played the saxomophone.
Okay, nice. Do you even you don't even know what the heck I'm talking about? Saximophone. You ever watched The Simpsons? Ye uh yes, with Elisa?
Yeah, Lisa, you bleed do you know bleeding gums, Murphy? Uh I do.
Okay, yeah.
Well, you look up Saximophone. Homer Simpson called it a Saximaphone like 30 years ago.
So, uh, Yeah, thank you, Josh. Appreciate you, okay? You call anytime, sometimes. All right. All right.
Thank you, Joshua. Thank you for calling us from Pennsylvania. You too. Okay. He had chick filet for dinner.
He played the saxomophone in the band. And he's a Ravens fan. And we learned so much about him, I I don't know if I wanted to ask any more questions. I'm glad I stopped there. That's the life.
What happened, Bachelor? That's the life. Chick-fil-A, learning how to play an instrument, and you have a good franchise in the Ravens. He's liv that's he's living the life? You could have no dinner, you could be a Jets fan, and you don't know, you could be untalented too.
You said you could be a Jets fan with no dinner? Yeah, you'd be just been with no dinner and have not been able to play an instrument. Is that you? Uh, maybe. Did you eat duna?
Did you eat? A granola bar. Had a granola bar. We're good. A granola bar.
We're good. Okay. Your stomach is rumbling right now, huh? No, I got a bottle of water at the mask it.
Okay, all right. But does water really I feel like if you're hungry and you drink water, unless you're starving in the desert, I feel like water makes it worse. Yeah, not for me. It it's like it suppresses my appetite. Yeah, no, no.
Water makes me want to eat more. That's all. Oh, that wide. Different human beings. How about that?
888-710-4ISN. That's 888-710-4ISN. We got more callers here. If you're on the line, I'll see you. I'll definitely go ahead and get you on the lines.

You know, we've been talking about all these horrific trades that have taken place. In the world of sports we have We talked about A.J. Brown. And then earlier when it was announced, we talked about Paul Skeens. and Tarek Skubel winning their respective uh well winning their respective cy Young's In their conferences, And we discussed the fact that If you're Tariq Schoolbull and you're entering into the final year of your contract, There's a possibility that he might be traded.
And then Paul Skeens is under control with the Pirates until 2029. And there's already conversation about him wanting to move on. to the New York Yankees. I guess that'll be a decision his uh his girlfriend makes, but anyway, Bacha, what's her name? The the gymnast Livy Dunn?
Livy Dunn. Yeah. I remember she made a whole big deal. At one point in time, she tried to buy Babe Ruth's. old apartment and she just publicized it so much that the uh The the authority, the condo, the homeowners association basically said, No, we don't want you to live here.
So maybe maybe they do want to live. In New York. But we'll see. The Pirates, let's be real. Are they going to give him a gigantic deal?
The answer is no. And then, meanwhile, when it comes to School, He just wanna sigh, young. He's going to be a free agent? And Tigers general manager Jeff Greenberg, he was on the MLB network and he basically said, we ain't moving Tarek Schubel or Diddy. Listen to this.
Yeah, look, we love Tarek, obviously. It's pretty obvious what he means at this organization. He's a fantastic pitcher. He's a Detroit Tiger. We're never going to talk about our players in the context of trades.
But we're lucky to have him. And again, he's been a huge piece to what we've done. And hopefully in a couple hours here, he's going to win his second strike Saigon. In a certain sense, though, if you don't have a player signed beyond the end of this year, is it an obligation to listen if teams pick up the phone and call you to ask about Schubel? Again, it's just not something we're going to discuss in this context, and I would say that about any of our players.
He's got one year of control. That's part of the process, as it is for everybody in this system, but he's a tiger. We're really fortunate to have him, and that's the reality right now. Oh, that's a good way to shut it down. I mean, that's not the right an well, that's not the truthful answer, but You have to entertain.
moving him. You have to. Eight at eight seven ten four I SN That's eight at eight seven ten four I S N. Talking about some of the worst trades in sports history. Hey, let's go to New Mexico and talk to Craig.
You're on the J.R. Sport Reshow, Craig. What's up? Hey, JR. What's going on?
Shoot, give me the trade. This is the best one. are the worst one. This is the worst. Portland, Oregon.
trades away Michael Jordan for uh injured Kiki Van Rule. I think the other one was Sambui. You're talking about the pick? When they picked up, traded him away. They traded them away to Chicago.
Yeah, well that at that point yeah, it was the It was the pick, just to be clear, Craig. Yeah. Okay. Well, thank you, Craig. Thank you.
Alright, thank you, Craig. Yeah, Craig duh. Didn't have too much enthusiasm about that one. I just had to be very clear that, yeah, Michael Jordan was not physically yet in the NBA, but it was the pick. That existed at that point in time.
888-710-4ISN. Got what do we got here? Marty from Baltimore. You're on the JR Sporty Show. What's up, Marty?
Hey, J.R., I love your show, man. Love your show. Thanks. What's up? Okay.
Um, this is I'm I'm from Baltimore, but this is a trade that helped our city get on the map. When they traded a milk path, it's Frank Robertson, one of the greatest ball players of all time. And a lot of people don't say much about Frank. You talking about a good trade for you? No, no, I mean, it was good for Baltimore that we got, you know, Frank Robinson from Cincinnati.
That's what I'm saying. But that wasn't true. I'm talking about the worst trades ever. That ain't working. No, I'm just saying with the worries on their part that somebody made in sports.
That's what I'm saying. Well, then eventually he got moved. Where'd he go? He went to the Dodgers after that, didn't he? No, he went to Cleveland.
You talk about Frank Robinson. He won the Triple Crown, then he went. Yeah, no, when he was done with the Orioles. Oh, yeah, but he went to Cleveland for a while. He was a manager, yeah.
Then he went. Yeah, well, I'm still talking about as a player. He kind of bounced around. He was afraid it was for that. We got him.
That's what I'm just saying. Yeah, well, at least y'all won a championship while he was there. Yeah, oh, yeah. He put us on the map, though. He put us on the map.
Well, thank you for coming through with positivity, at least for your end. I love your show. I love your show. I'm sorry. I love your show.
Thank you so much. Shout outs to Marty from Baltimore. Appreciate you, Marty. 888-710-4ISN Rodney here from Milwaukee. What's up, Rodney?
Brian Meyer live on the radio. Oh, hey, how's it going? It's going great, man. What's up? Carl, no, I was kind of young when this trade happened.
I don't remember the context around it, but I just remember being a young fan. And when they traded Ray Allen. For Gary Payton, who was on the back end of his career, basically. Oh, yeah. And after going to the Eastern Conference finals, and we were just.
terrible ever since then up until now basically. Yeah, I remember that was like a salary that was a salary thing as far as I remember. It was just odd watching Gary Payton run around in that uh He had that number twenty and that that that purple and green Bucks uniform, right? Yeah, yeah. It wasn't.
He was older, and Rayalin was still a younger guy.
So it was like, looking back, I'm like, why would they do that? We went to the Eastern Conference Finals. Against Iverson and the Sixers, but I was like sixth or seventh grade, so I'm not just going to politics. Yeah, but did you remember as a fan? Did you think Sam Cassell, Ray Allen, and Big Dog were going to do anything?
I think Ray Allen, he was looking for the money. Yeah, it could have been, could have been. I mean Like I said, I was a kid, so I was just mind-blown that they did it with us reaching that far. I thought at that young age, with those, you know. And experienced eyes that we would get there one day.
So, yeah, we get back there again. You know what I mean?
So, yeah. But we would never recover from that until Giannis, basically. Everybody. My friend is Dirk. I think that was another bad trade.
It was that with Robert Track the Trailer was involved in that one, right? Wasn't that the flip? Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, well maybe maybe they can bring Dirk into to maybe uh run the Dallas Mavericks.
I don't well, Michael Finley is now uh part of the team running the Mavs now.
So and we'll see if uh Michael Finley can do anything. They're in the toilet, so good luck to him. Thank you, Ronnie. You take it easy, man. You say Thank you, thank you.
Hopefully, they don't move Giannis. Hopefully, Giannis doesn't want to move. Lee is calling from Cincinnati. You're on the Chair Sportry Show. What's up, Lee?
Hey, thanks, Digma Cold here, and I'll be quick. The worst call during my lifetime happened when I was one year old, and that was when the Mets traded Nolan Ryan to this. California Angels with Jim Fragosi.
Okay, but as far as ones that I can remember Yeah, you you remember that at one, don't you? Go ahead. No, I don't I don't remember that one. No, but what I do remember was when Mike Dick get traded away the whole entire nineteen ninety nine six picks, right? For Ricky Williams.
That is the worst trade ever. That totally decimated the Saints, in my opinion. Yeah. So that's the worst trade in my opinion of all time. All right.
Well, we know wh where's Ricky right now? He's smoking somewhere, all right? He's all right. He's got some good hookah. Yes, sir.
Is it hookah? Is he smoking hookah? I'm not going to go any further than that. I don't know for a fact, so I'm not going to say anything bad about the man. I I don't think saying he smokes cannabis is bad.
It's just the reality. Hey, Lee, thank you for calling from Cincinnati. Thank you, Tegmaco. No doubt about it. Shout us to a leave from Cincinnati.
888-710-4ISN. Botcher, is there a trade in your lifetime? It doesn't have to be the worst trade, but is there a trade that ever took place that. Just hurts you as a fan. Hurt me?
Oh. Uh Not really. I've kind of been numb to a lot of things. Oh, wow. Which is kind of sad.
It is. It's more of players leaving a free agency. Those are more. But. I wait, I just thought of one.
Okay. The Kyrie Irving Kevin Durant trade, how quickly that went down. Which, which, I mean, those. What are you talking about?
So The year after they traded James Harden.
So they traded James Harden early in the season. They have Ben Simmons. They go on an 18-2 streak.
So they win they win eighteen out of twenty. And then a week later, Kyrie's gone and Katie's gone. Just like that. You sign Katie to an extension and then he's gone in a second. That hurt.
Well, he told you from the summertime he doesn't want to be there. Oh, yeah, but then he signed the extension.
So I gave him a little bit of slap. Oh, my goodness. Oh, botcha. Come on now.
Okay. Alright, I don't know there's no way in hell to be shocked by that one. But okay.
Alright.
Alright, okay. Marco Belletti, is there is there a trade in your lifetime that just uh Kinda irked you. The one that comes to mind, and it wasn't because it was just the magnitude of the player. is when the Knicks traded Ewing. It was just the idea of this is how this is going to end with everything that You know, he went through with the organization and everything.
This is what we're doing. We're trading him to Seattle for Glenn Rice. Like, this, it just felt wrong. Like, that's not how that was supposed to go. Yeah.
Yeah, Marco the same wavelength. That was exactly what was On my mind. Because at the time, Glenn, this wasn't even Glenn Rice with the Hornets. This was. He was washed up too at that point.
Yeah, that was old and busted Glenn Rice. Look, and look, Ewing was broken. We know that. And I think he wanted out, too. I understand that.
But there was still the idea that, like. To Seattle? Yeah, look, we couldn't come to a better resolution than this. I mean, it was 15 years. He was your heart and soul.
I mean, this is how it was going to go down. It just felt wrong. They sent a Jamaican man from New York City to Seattle. Like That's criminal in and of itself.
Okay. Like I said, I know his best days were gone. If you got a package for it and like it was going to help you rebuild, all right, I'm listening. You traded old and busted for old and busted. It just felt wrong.
They paired them up. I mean, Allen Houston and Lattrell were still there. Weren't they hurt? Allen was probably hurt at the time. Houston was always hurt.
So, yeah. Which Lattrell's still there? I want to say, yeah. I forget exactly what year was it? Was it 01?
Well, they wanted Patrick Ewing a hell up on out of there. They're like, why do we need his old ass running? We just went to the finals without him.
Well, that was the thing. They kind of blamed 99 and 2000 on Ewing falling apart. And it was like, I. I don't think that was your biggest reason why you couldn't get to the promised land. Here's a better question: with all these NBA players.
that we see and everybody is pretty active and out there Where the hell is Glenn Rice? We don't hear nothing about him. I know didn't he have a kid who played in the league? He did. Where the hell has Glenn Rice been?
He's been witness protection. Where is he at? I got to tell you, I hadn't thought about it.
So, no, I don't remember the last time I saw Glenn Rice, but. I don't remember looking for him either. He is not sitting around on on a podcast telling state secrets, so I guess that's uh You know, like like I said, but I d I don't know. Is he uh, you know, in Charlotte somewhere talking about the Hornets being terrible? I I don't know.
I truly I don't know.
Well, you know what with all the athletes we got nowadays just running a yap about a bunch of crap, It's nice to have a guy who's just, I guess, laying low. Yeah, yeah, I found him. He's on uh He's a Miami Heat ambassador and scout.
Okay. Good. Works with Pat Riley. He ain't going to run his mouth. That's good.
And again, he had some moments with the heat. Not the next, but he had some moments with the heat. Yeah, he did. He did. Shoutouts to Glenn Rice Wow.
And those little bands on his knees. Yeah, his knees stunned. Those bands are just always funny to me. I'm sorry. I think he was the only guy that ever wore those things.
He was good. Cho Pat knee bands. They were good. Oh, yeah, they were tremendous. They were awful.
They were useless. No. It was funny. He was the only guy that wore it. You'll be wearing em any any year now, Marco Belletti, okay?
I tried them, man. They suck. They're useless. They may work now in the future. I mean, you may need 'em more.
Uh I'm gonna need a lot more than that. But yeah, okay. Oh, Marco Belletti, you're gonna love this. For my knees on on Friday, I'm going to go see Diamond Dallas Page. I'm going to go do DDPY Yoga.
I'm going to do it. Get out, really? Yeah, Friday, yeah. Oh, see, that's good stuff. I don't think I can, I'm not elastic by any stretch, but I'm going to be awesome.
DDP yoga? Yeah, I would give that a shot. I'm sure he could do wonders with my old busted ass. He fixed Lex Luger, right? He helped him.
Yeah, I mean, I don't know that whole story, but like, did he help Luger get out of the wheelchair? I think he did. He helped Jake the Snake live with him. Yeah, yeah. I saw the Jake the Snake.
That's remarkable. That turn from as far as he went to what DDP helped him with. I mean, that's. Beyond remarkable, I'm not all the way broken. Do I need to break something between now and Friday?
I don't know. I mean, think about it. You're not that busted, so he can really do all kinds of wonders with you. He might even take one try. I need to have an accident between now and Friday.
Okay. Start with a good base and then, you know, go from there. Again, if you ever want to, you know, invite me out there, my old busted ass could use that. Oh, why don't you come on down? Come on, Friday.
Come down. I need a little more notice than that. Oh, I'm sorry. They found out yesterday. My bad.
No, my fault. It's not my fault. He lives 15 minutes from the studio. Not my fault. I was going to say, you got a plane ticket.
I don't even say a place to sleep. I'll sleep, you know, on, I don't want to say the sidewalk. I'll find a place to sleep. You got a plane ticket, I'm coming out. Hey, one of the nicest outside people that I know.
Well, he he does yoga outside. this guy down the block from the studio. He he has his hair slicked back. He shows up to work every day with his suitcase. He has nice clothes.
He's doing feng shui. He sits there and folds his legs. He doesn't ask anybody for nothing. I'm like, yo, I need to live this guy's life. He's doing better than me out here.
Okay. There's a If I can find a photo in my phone, I'll send it to you, Marco.
Okay, I will. All right. With the plane ticket, yeah. Yeah, you're welcome. You can stay outside with him, okay?
