I'm sitting here in the studio I got the Kansas City Chiefs on one screen as a Do the fancy introductions and got smoke and musicians and all this other stuff and and Right next to it, another screen, I got the World Series going on. We just talked about Tyler Glass now and Max Scherzer.

Are getting ready to get after it. This is a cool time of year, man. Here in Atlanta, well, I don't know if it's nice that it's cold and rainy outside. Bacha, did you see sunlight today? Uh yes, I did.

It's actually pretty nice outside. That's nice. Yeah, no no no sun no sun light or sun. shine today. We've been to we've had a drought here in Atlanta for a while.

And so I guess we were due for some rain. It's been raining from I want to say yesterday pretty much all day. uh into today.

So look. Can't go dry all the damn time. A little bit of rain will help the the flowers and plants, even though it's fall. and help keep things alive. Speaking of keeping things alive, How about this?

We we talked a lot of football, but we got a little bit of an update. In regards to one team in particular, and I still can't believe people are like this staying alive, and that's the Baltimore Ravens. They're 2-5-1 the season. And it looks like Lamar Jackson. Who's been dealing with a hamstring issue, Lamar Jackson?

is going to be back This Thursday. against the Miami Dolphins. Yeah, how about that? We're wrapping up this week of the NFL season with the Kansas City Chiefs in Washington. And in just three days, or four days, I should say, we got Thursday night football.

It appears that Lamar Jackson will be out there against the Dolphins.

Now this has been a rough one. The Ravens are two and five on the season. They've only won one game and that was yesterday. You know, without Lamar Jackson out there, Tyler Huntley had to go out there and help them beat the Bears. God bless him.

He didn't turn the football over. But with no Lamar Jackson, a multiple-time NFL MVP, the Ravens are cooked. Like we notice they're not winning a damn. thing. And then, good luck or good for the Miami Dolphins.

They went out there and beat the Falcons yesterday. And so John Harbaugh for weeks. He has not wanted to discuss anything. Lamar Jackson. A matter of fact, the NFL is actually investigating How the Ravens have kind of placed him on injury reports like last week.

They said that he was a full participant on Friday. And then they changed his status to limited on Saturday. And then they said he ain't playing yesterday. Obviously, of course, he did not. And so the NFL is just trying to figure out what the hell are y'all doing?

Baltimore Ravens are saying it's just a a little bit of a clerical error. It doesn't matter. It'll probably just be a fine. But I know what the Ravens are happy about. what their fans are happy about.

is the fact that it looks like Lamar Jackson, is going to be back. And you think things change a lot? This is what Harbaugh had to say yesterday. about whether or not we see Lamar on Thursday. I'm just going to say that, I'm hopeful.

As a coach, what you do is you You ask? You might, you know, how is he doing? That's about as much as you do. How are we doing? What do you think?

And then you get the guys ready that Are going to play, then when the guys come back to practice, you put them in there and practice. And that's how it works on the coaching side. Coaches aren't involved with. you know, statuses and whether the guys play or not, that's not a coaching decision. Oh, don't don't tell but Botcha, does Brian Daybox know that?

Does he know that? Uh I'd think Dable would disagree because he's actively doing Head checkups on everyone. Yeah, he's like, let me jump into the blue tent to see if my players are ready.

So we'll see about that one. But anyway, that was John Harbar yesterday. Today. He gave an update, apparently. On Lamar Jackson.

Listen to this. I feel uh I feel very confident, you know, feel very confident about it and uh You know, we'd expect them to be out there Thursday night.

Okay. I mean, he just doesn't want to talk about any of this. I mean, they even asked him, why are y'all yo-yoing him? Or why did you yo-yo him? And when it came down to his availability on the injury report, And John Harbaugh had a long explanation for that one.

Listen to this. I'm not involved in those rules. I don't know those particular rules.

So that's uh that was probably I I think in their In their defense, you know, he practiced a full practice. I think they felt like because he did the same number of reps, it was a full practice. But when you dig in and you read the rule, At the end of the day, it wasn't right, so that's what it was. That's why, as soon as we found out, we changed it. It's an honest mistake.

I mean, it really is an honest mistake. I can tell you this: nobody's trying to hide anything. I mean, there's no advantage. There's no advantage to be gained, you know. With that, I mean, it was, he practiced, his status was what it was, he was questionable.

I do think if we'd have had the old status, maybe they would have said doubtful. Maybe, I don't know. But uh questionable or out? No, we weren't gonna say out because he wasn't out. Yeah, until until Saturday when that conversation was had on the medical side.

Oh my god, so damn complicated. The guy didn't play football, okay? The Ravens are 2-5. He's going to come back. Botcha, they'll beat the Dolphins on Thursday, right?

They have to. Uh. Yes. Clearly, again, if he can find Waddle. Yeah, I I think the swollen eye is actually helping him.

Because if he's going in there blindly, maybe he's just more confident. Oh, okay. But he's so bad with two eyes that if he only has to use one, he's better. Yes. But also I think the fact that Lamar was not 100% on Friday.

And even still I know you have the extra week or so until Thursday. I don't know if his hamstrings can be 100%. Bruh. I don't. You can't throw a guy out there not on a 100% hamstring.

I'm not going to be concerned about that. I mean, he he's he last played in week four. Like, if his hamstring is not healthy, then he might as well just call this entire season a dub, right? Because. Look, you're either going to go out there and be fine on a hamstring because it is fully healed.

Or you're going to go out there and end up pulling it again. Give himself a chance. to lead them to the playoffs and risk reinjury. Rather than wait till it's one hundred percent guaranteed, but you come back and there's nothing to play for. Man, you don't mess around with these hamstrings, bro.

You don't do it. Especially a guy who utilizes his legs. He has ridiculous bursts. He probably has the Quickest first step in the entire league, Lamar Jackson. If that guy decides to go, he's gone.

It's really as simple as that. The acceleration is a wrap.

So Who am I to tell anybody about a hamstring? I mean, I pulled my hamstring a couple years ago chasing my kid in the park.

So, I mean, what are you going to do? But good luck to Lamar Jackson. Uh at least he'll be back out there. Let's see what he can do. I think they'll go out there and beat the Dolphins.

But that is on Thursday. Speaking of hamstrings, I told you these damn hammies are quite the thing. Anthony Edwards. Ant yeah, Ant Man in the NBA, he's the latest dude. to go down with a hamstring injury.

And I'm like, damn, at the season It just got underway. Like, how the hell are we getting here? We got injuries all over. the damn place. And so Anthony Edwards is is is gonna be out He's going to be gone for about two weeks.

His head coach, Chris Finch, He says, yeah, our guys got to do something without this man. I mean, possibly. I don't know. I think we got a lot of experienced guys out there who stepped up. Julius certainly.

Had it going even before Four Ant got got out, but he he was able to keep it going. Um And um you know, again, we have a ton of experienced guys that we're able to play, so Yeah, well I mean that They actually won the game, surprisingly. The Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Pacers. 114 to 110. Anthony Edwards had to leave the game.

uh in the first quarter. Due to that hammy strain. And that's, I told you, you don't want them things. He's going to be out for two weeks. uh as a result.

So these hamstrings and and pulls No matter how old you are, how young you are, you're pulling that hammy. there's going to be a problem. And and speaking of the NBA, Anthony Edwards isn't the only dude. who's currently dealing with an injury. How the heck?

I saw this yesterday. I go, you kidding me? Luka Doncich. Is out for a week. And it's not because he's fat or he's smoking cigarettes and having hookah and beer.

Luca is out for a week. With a left finger spray. In a lower left Leg bruise.

Okay, he got a bruised leg, he got a sprained finger. Luca is going to be gone for a week. And so you're missing LeBron James. Who has that sciatica in his leg, his backside, in his back? Uh he's gonna be gone until the middle of November.

Now we got Luca out. And so, how about this? Austin Reeves steps up yesterday, and this guy drops 51 points, has 11 rebounds, 9 assists. Shot 22 free throws, just absolutely nuts. He went out there and destroyed the Sacramento Kings all by himself.

The Lakers ended up winning 127 to 120. Yahoo Austin Reeves continues this on over the next week while Luca's out. Is to be seen. I don't think he's going to be out there dropping 51. That's a career high.

For Austin Reeves. He was asked about his mentality, knowing that there was no Luka. knowing that there was no Lebron, And this is what Austin Reeves had to say. Wouldn't say I started off great, had a couple of turnovers, missed shots. Call bad passes and You know, you just stick with it, especially on a night where you don't have Luca, you don't have Brown, you don't have Jackson, like you know, you know.

Okay. You gotta go out there and um. You know and be big for the team. Yeah, well he was big for the team. I know his head coach appreciates him.

J.J. Reddick says That guy was killing it last night. He was fantastic, did a little bit of everything for us tonight, all over the place, scored the basketball at an incredible level, but just his tenacity to compete. It's so apparent every single day he's in the gym. Yeah.

Well that's good. Maybe you could be an all-star this year. Oh, man. Anyway, What the heck is Bacho, was Travis Kelsey? Was he getting ready to cry for the national anthem?

Was he just got to use the bathroom or what? I did not see it.

So I will search Twitter, and I wouldn't be surprised if he got emotional. Yeah, he wasn't, I don't think he was crying. He just seemed real into it. He seemed real into it out there. I mean, good for him.

Whatever. Chris Jones is crying. Today? Yeah.

That was him crying? That was Chris Jones. There was definitely perspiration on his cheek. Let me ask you this. I saw a guy yesterday.

He was blowing his as they show the the flag all over the place. There was a guy, he was blowing his nose. I looked to my right, the guy was blowing his nose. Into a, yeah, Chris Jones, sure as hell is crying. He was blowing his nose into an American flag handkerchief.

Like. Where the hell do you even buy that? How is that even sold? Three? I can find a spot for that.

There's gotta be like a USA store. An American flag handkerchief? Yeah.

I I get I I bet if you look on Amazon right now, you can find one. I bet you can, but where's it coming from? Not America, right? That'd be Ironic, but The sad truth is it definitely isn't from here. Yeah, but there's I mean there's there's supposed to be rules about the flag.

Like when you carry the flag on a pole, you don't put it on the ground and You know, you put the flag, it's the highest flag if you got a whole bunch of other flags there. Like, there's rules. to the flag. And I just saw the guy I was I'm not going to say I was shocked or taken aback. I confronted the guy.

What are you doing here? But the guy, he was sneezing. I looked to my right, and I'm like, He has a handkerchief, first of all. Not too many people walk around with a handkerchief. Like, why do I want to carry around my boogers in my back pocket all day and just give it in the tissue and throw it out?

But anyway. It was an American flag, I just had to go, what? It's like, is he making some type of statement here? Anyway. I found that to be odd.

You're welcome for sharing a personal story, Bacha. It was something I noticed. You had some allergies. What are you going to do? Not.

Use the Available tools in your repertoire? Yeah, the American flag that he had that he was bl okay. What else are you gonna use it for? Like like a put in your pocket for a suit? I don't think I would own one.

Let's put it this way. Bacha, if I went to Canada, right? If I went to the World Series. and I was sneezing. What's that place called?

The the Skydome? Yes. Well, the Rogers Center or the. Yeah.

If Rogers Center, whatever the heck they're calling it now. If I went out there. And I had a Dodgers cap on, right? And I'm sitting behind home plate. And I am blowing my nose.

into an um uh a Canadian flag. Would that not be an international incident? Uh I would say no. Oh, okay. At what point does it become a flag and not a handkerchief?

That's the question. Oh, bro. Is there like a sizing chart? Ain't no size. It's still a flag.

You're pulling it out of your back pocket. That's like going to another country. And I mean, not that this would be a public thing. Could you imagine toilet paper that's a flag? You can't do that.

Like, what are we doing here, man? It's a. You know, that's a no-go. What's the difference? I know these are, I know the difference, but I mean, that's a lot.

Oh yeah we I would say the one thing is that The handkerchief. Can be used for visual purposes only. He went out of his way to blow his nose into it. Oh yeah, he did. I just had to go, whoa, okay, all right, God bless them.

Oh man, how about this? We got. Game three of the World Series underway. We're getting ready for the start. of Monday night football, and we've already had a Christmas commercial.

I'm like, can we get through Halloween first? Halloween is on Friday. Can we get through Halloween first? before we automatically jump to the damn Christmas commercials. Bah.

You're listening to the JR Sport Brief. It is the JR Sport Brief show here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network. It is a sports equinox. We got NFL football, we got the World Series, we got NHL action, and then we got. The N B A.

NBA season underway. We see Victor Wembanyama out here losing his mind. We've already had tons of injuries. We got some big stat lines all over the league to get us up to date. on on what has started already.

in not even a full week of the NBA season. Joining us right now is NBA Ryder. You can catch him all things, NBA for the Action Network as well as the Nuggets. And joining us is Matt Moore. Matt, welcome back.

Thank you for the time. Hey man, how are you? I'm very well. I mean, right out the gate, right before you joined us, we talked about the Los Angeles Lakers. We know about LeBron and the sciatica in his leg.

And now we got Luka Doncic. He got a sprained finger and a bruised leg. What did he? He relapsed at Dairy Queen. What happened?

Yeah, it's pretty weird that he's going to miss this amount of time with a sprained finger. It's just kind of odd. I understand that the. The Lakers wanting to be Cautious with him because sometimes injuries with him can turn into long-term things. But especially, you know, given his history, I'm a little bit surprised he's not kind of fighting through it and being like, no, no, no, I'm good, I'll play.

But for whatever reason, you know, they're being cautious and he's going to miss some time. I don't know that this is the best move, though, because this Western Conference is going to be so tough night after night. And you think, like, well, it's early. It's so early. Who cares?

And that's how most of the players feel. But it's like, look, you can't make up losses. You can make up wins, but you can't make up losses. Once you lose those games, they're gone.

So when you get to the end of the season, And you're in the standings, and you're battling in the Western Conference, especially for tiebreaker and things like that. These games are going to matter. It's too tight this year.

So we'll see what happens. But I think it's a concern until LeBron and Luca get back healthy, even with Austin Reed going for 50 last night. I think the Lakers have to be in some level of concern.

Well, Matt, I know you also cover the the Nuggets, and we saw their additions and bringing back a Bruce Brown and And offloading a Michael Porter Jr., and now we see Gordon is over here knocking down threes. The Spurs have certainly started the season three and over Wembenyama, like the Wests. Is so packed. What stands out to you? Is there a story or a team or an individual that captures your attention in the West?

Yeah, I mean, look, the Spurs have to be the story because I didn't really know what to make of them. What the roster kind of changes, losing Chris Paul at the big veteran piece. You know, they don't even have Aaron Fox back yet. They've got two young point guards But Wemen Yama is so singularly impactful. It the crazy thing with him is We've seen guys go off for crazy points, but then you look at the scoreboard or you look at the box score and you're like, oh, they only won his minutes by five or whatever.

They are destroying teams when he is out there. And they're doing great when he's off the court too. They're getting contributions from a lot of guys right now. They're getting contributions from Luke Cornette. They're getting contributions from...

Stephon Castle, who everyone kind of looked over when they drafted Dylan Harper and added Aaron Fox. Uh and when you add those kind of components to what Wemanyama is doing. Where there are these sequences every night where he will block a shot, they'll put it back up, he'll block it again, grab the rebound, run the floor, and hit an open three. And you're just like, what am I supposed to do with this? What is anyone supposed to do with this?

I don't think any of us are ready for how quickly he's evolving and adapting. He is the best watch in the NBA night after night right now. Yeah, Victor Wembanyami, he's like a creative player in a video game. You stretch the. He's like, let's stretch a guy out to 7.5 and see what he can do.

It's. Absolutely amazing.

Well, Matt, we know the Spurs are a young team. The NBA, at least the West, is full of older teams. We see the Golden State Warriors, we see the Clippers. Is there any chance that either one of these squads could make some hay at the end of the season, or do you think it's kind of fool's goal? I mean, I think the look.

The the Thunder here have started, and they win two games by and double overtime. And they get a comfortable win versus a Hawks team that was missing basically their entire front court. The Thunder will undeniably be one of those things you have to deal with at the end, but we still don't know yet if they're going to be as dominant because they're having some bad injury luck early. You know, like that's a deep run that they made. And now you got Jalen Williams is out.

They've had time missed by Alice Caruso, Kayson Wallace. You know, Chet Holgren's playing through some stuff right now, and it's pretty early in the season. And that just kind of shortens the gap a little bit.

So I think there is kind of this window for these other teams to be able to get into this conversation. Then you look at like Houston, you know, starts out 0-2, likely to get their first win of the season tonight versus the Nets. But there's a lot of things that they're going to have to figure out too. One of the things that happens when you have these big changes in the league with Kevin Durant going to the Rockets and all the changes the Clippers made in the offseason, when you have all these kind of changes happen, I do think you wind up seeing a little bit of an adjustment time that's needed before they settle in.

So this first month, I think, is going to be a little erratic with teams that we thought were going to be dominant settling in a little bit and having to work through some troubles before we get into the middle of the season when probably those teams will assert themselves. Matt Moore is here with us, NBA writer for the Action Network. If we switch over to the East, things much more wide open. You kind of don't know what you're going to get. We got Jolenbi already complaining about his menace, despite the fact that he's basically been hurt.

A forever. Uh th there's a little bit more parody in in the East. What are your thoughts about that? Yeah, I mean, I think it's what we expected with Jason Tatum out and with Tyree Halliburton out and seeing kind of the changes that we've seen. I think one thing that's finishing is.

Yo, itching test tonight for this Cavaliers team who's up big on the Pistons right now at half. Is whether or not they're going to kind of assert themselves as the dominant team. Unimpressive opening night versus the Knicks really struggled offensively, but since then, Starting to get it going. And I wonder if the Cavaliers are going to separate themselves. From the pack a little bit, but I think there's a lot of exciting teams in these, honestly.

Raptors are in the middle of a tough road trip right now. They're playing the Dallas teams. They're on the back to back right now versus Wemby down 15, but they've looked good. You know, Atlanta, I think, has been a little shaky to start. Orlando's been a little shaky to start.

Miami has been awesome. They have been lighted out. And you talk about the Sixers. Edward. Beyond the Joel stuff, the thing is, is that when Joel's not on the floor, They look incredible.

When they're led by Tyrese Maxie and VJ Edgecombe and Quentin Grimes, and they're sharing the ball, and you got Andre Drummond come in and just unking them in the last game versus the Hornets and dominating on the glass. When they've got all these guys who are able to come in. and contribute and share the ball. The Sixers play an exciting brand of basketball. They're really pretty good.

You see it tonight versus the Magic without Embiid. I don't know what that's going to mean for the future. I don't know if it's sustainable. But right now, the Sixers have been one of the most interesting teams to me to start this season in the minutes when Joelle Embiid is not. on the floor and with Paul George still not available.

Oh, let me ask you this, Matt. We know there's a lot of money, $60, $70 million a year tied into Joel Embiid for the next, what, two or three years. Is there any possibility that some schmuck will wake up and go? We'll take Joel and beat. I don't think so, and I don't think the Pixers are going to be willing to let go of it.

I think that they're so tied to, we've got to try and make this work. from an emotional standpoint for the fans. From an emotional standpoint for just the franchise, I think that they're going to continue to try and make this work with Joel until it's not workable whatsoever. I do think, look, if he were to hit the trade market, I do think teams would talk themselves into it. We got a lot of guys that have had injury issues that teams have talked themselves into over the years.

So I don't necessarily think it's going to be something that even with his problems, will there be more will there be less value returned for him than for what you would expect for a former MVP? Sure. But I do think that a team would be willing to take on MB because of what he's able to bring to the table in the rare moments when he is fully healthy. Yeah, I can't believe the guys over here complaining about his menace. There must be something in the water.

uh in Philadelphia. You know, speaking of of people moving on, We see the Bucs. They've started 2-1. Giannis has not been, or he hasn't had a slow start putting up these ridiculous. Stat lines.

What are your thoughts on how this season might play out for both Giannis and the Bucs? Yeah, it seems real 10th rate where it's like if they slide, they're off to a pretty good start. And I think this team's got some talent. They're missing Kevin Porter Jr. right now, which is a big miss for them.

But they've got enough talent for them to be able to handle this and to maybe survive and be a playoff team in the Eastern Conference. The problem is just like every single time if they hit a three-game losing streak. Gonna start here and Should is Giannis going to ask out? Should Giannis ask out? Can this Bucs team do anything?

Like every single time. They can't afford to go on a losing streak, which every team's going to go on during the season.

Well, most teams, except for the Thunder. Like most teams go on losing streaks in the season.

So I think it's a really tense situation. And the problem is, once those conversations start, once those rumors start. It doesn't just affect Giannis. It affects the coaching staff. It affects the other players because they wonder if they're going to get traded next.

It creates uncertainty and teams have a hard time playing together and playing with synergy and chemistry when that happens.

Well, Matt is, are there any other teams in the league that I don't want to say have everybody walking on eggshells type vibe, but is there another team that you're really paying attention to this upcoming season? Or this season, I should say? Yeah, I mean, I think there's a lot that I'm keeping an eye on. One that's on the bad side, as opposed to all the fun that we've had to start the season, is this Dallas Maverick squad. You know, got a win yesterday, needed to that one bad versus the Raptors, but It's been so bad, and they don't really have a point guard.

We'll see if they move D'Angelo Russell into the starting unit. It was bad there with that start. The vibes are so terrible because every time that they lose, especially if they lose badly, it's a referendum on the Luka trade. And the fans aren't over it, and they shouldn't be over it. And every time it's going to be kind of this referendum on that decision.

And so it with how the roster is built, they don't have great depth. They don't have a lot of shooting. They don't have uh point guards at all to speak of.

So there's going to be a lot of nice when it's just going to not work the way that it needs to. And I just don't know what that means for them over the course of the season. Are they going to be able to weather the storm? Are they going to live with a bad year? Or are there going to be changes that they will feel like they have to make?

Um that they are definitely the team in the Western Conference that I have the most questions about. going forward. Yeah, pretty wild when we're three games into the season. The fans are already yelling to fire Nico. I mean, they didn't get it out their system last year.

They're still rolling on this one.

So. Pretty wild out in Dallas. Hey, Matt, thank you so much for the time. Tell everybody where they can follow you and all your work with the Action Network, covering the Nuggets. Felissa, Yeah, you can check me out on the Action Network app.

We got people complaining. They got to be botching. There has to be something in the water in Philadelphia. We got A.J. Brown complaining on one end.

We got Joel. I can't believe. Joel Embiid actually sat at a press conference and said Hey, if I'm only playing 20 minutes, then I might as well go sit at home with my family. I can't believe he said that, Botcher. Hey, he can go back on the chord play more than twenty minutes, but when his knees become pulled pork.

Within five games? He can't complain. Yeah, I think his knees are there already. That's he's just. He's out of this world.

There's something going on in Philadelphia. You know what? We're going to take a break. When we come back on the other side, you will hear from Joel Lindby. You can hear what he had to say.

about his minutes. And I'm like, are you the last dude That needs to be saying anything about your usage. What'd you lose a couple pounds and now you just need to play every minute? I can't believe this guy. And we'll hear what Joel Lambi had to say on the other side.

And shout outs to Philly. At least the Eagles had a little bit of a comeback. It's the J.R. Sport Brief Show. No A.J.

Brown, by the way. It's the JR Sport Brief Show here on the Infinity Sports Network. We'll get into the Joel M. Biet Philly stuff on the other side of the break. But what's going on in the world?

The sports. We got the World Series. We got Monday Night Football. Here he is with a news flash. It's Rich Ackerman.

If you missed that conversation, you're a big NBA fan. Go ahead and hit rewind. On the free Odyssey App. Uhoh who's that? Tiasca Hernandez?

Yep, that looks looks like who it is. A solo home run. The Dodgers are on the board here. In Game 3 of the World Series, Tiasca Hernandez just deposited a ball off of Max Scherzer. Just over the left field wall, the Dodgers now lead the Toronto Blue Jays one to nothing.

Here in the bottom of the second. Of course, we'll keep you up to date as this game continues on. We still have no score. The Monday night football between the Commanders and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Okay, we'll keep you up to date on everything as it rolls on. One of the points that we did discuss with Matt. In the last break, happened to be the Philadelphia 76ers. They're currently in action right now. Uh God bless them.

The Sixers, who the hell are they playing? I just had it open. The Orlando Magic. Uh Philadelphia leads Orlando 83. to seventy two.

There is no Joel Mbi in this game. The last time we saw Joel Embiid? was Saturday.

Okay, the Philadelphia 76ers went out and beat Charlotte. The other game that Joel Embiid played, they beat Boston. Joel Embiid. played exactly twenty minutes in each game. In the season opener, Jolen Beat sucked.

He was one of nine from the field. He only had four points. He looked rusty as hell. In the last game, Saturday, against Charlotte against the Hornets, Joel and Beat had twenty points, in twenty minutes. Much better.

is seven of eleven from the field three of six from Deep. And he had four assists and two steals. He had four turnovers in 20 minutes. That's a lot. Uh but but quite different.

And so I guess Joel Lembi was feeling himself. He didn't ask for more minutes when he only scored four points. But twenty points in twenty minutes, Joel and B. who basically missed all of last season with a knee injury. Joel Embiid, who hasn't been the a model of health.

actually sat in front of the media. And he basically complained about his minutes Saying that he hates these short stints and he's better off being at home if they're not going to play him. Listen to this crap.

Well, I rather not have many restrictions but, you know, but I've had to get out of the way. Um The longer I sit, the shorter stints, you don't get in the rhythm. You play two, three minutes and you gotta get out. That's like two or three up and down. That's literally nothing.

Uh I might as well just stay home and, you know. Being with my family, um, and you know, longer states, you're actually able to let the game come to you. Um, But then again, longer things also means you might be done by half-time. But I can't sit for too long. You know, are you, you know, being in shape is one thing, but being in basketball shape is another thing.

You need to play, and you need to play a lot. Uh instead of you know playing six minutes and sitting another ten minutes and coming back and playing another six minutes, that's you're not gonna go nowhere.

So Uh but I guess I trust them and, um, until I'm over it, I'm gonna keep trying.

Okay. At at least he says he trusts them. Why you got to get into a whole thing about how you're better off being at home with your family? I mean, sheesh. Like does he Is he also in class?

Is Jolen Beat also in media class with Tua Tonga Valoa? Tula has said some s Stupid things. Over the past several weeks. Every week there's something stupid coming out of Tua's mouth, whether it's You know how much better Josh Allen is than him. More recently, two was talking about how.

You know, he can't always see Jalen Waddle to deliver him a pass because he's so short. It's just. And now we got Joel Embiid like. Oh yeah, by the way, uh playing limited minutes socks You know, I might as well be home with my family.

Well, you wouldn't be on a minute's restriction. And we all understand basketball shape being in shape. Yo ass hasn't been in no shape, but her Over the past several seasons, And so it's just completely tone deaf. to hear from a guy who just says Yeah, yeah. If I'm not playing, I'll just go home with my family.

So just go home with your family. Give the $60, $70 million back and just go home to your family. We know. That is not going to happen. Just just shut up next time, Joel M.

B. It's kind of crazy Jolenbi comes into the NBA. misses completely misses his first season with a busted up foot. And then he spends all his time on social media telling everybody how much he loves Rihanna and telling jokes. and now here he is Now into his thirties, he's just miserable, man.

I don't play enough basketball. You wouldn't be on a minute's restriction if your body could make it. Like man, what a he's the last dude. Who needs to be complaining about minutes? It's getting shape.

Bacha, is Zion going to complain about the meals on the plane next? What's going on here? Hey, all I know is that this could have gone. A lot worse if we're talking about Joellen Bede three years ago. I think he would have cursed out the coaching staff, he would have cursed out the fans somehow.

It's just He I guess he wants to play. But he doesn't like the way they're breaking it up.

So I think he just wants to play the full first quarter, basically. That's what he's saying. And then play maybe the first. Three quarters of the second three quarters, which is it's not possible, and that's why it's so dumb. what he's saying here.

And even still, if you were to play a large portion of the first quarter Your knees might not react the same way. Yeah.

They might swell up. They might be able to move. He doesn't know what the hell he's talking about. He ju and I get it, he wants to play more minutes. He doesn't like the way the minutes are split up.

But that ain't nobody's fault but your own. It's as it's as simple as that.

So I mean, when even when he was healthy, We saw stints where Jolen Biade would be awesome. But then he'd get later into the game and he would just be laboring up and down the court. Like his stats actually show. that Joel and Bede is dominant out the gate And then, by the time as the game goes on, like a lot of people, he's tired. He cannot shift into another gear.

He's a massive human being. Dude is like 771. I don't know how much he weighs now, but he must have weighed in at at two eighty. He's a giant dude. And so how he stays healthy or when he plays Bruh, just be happy you're out there on the court.

All right. You got VJ Edgecomb dropping 25 a game. Maxie's giving you 25.30. And I guess he's trying to figure out where he fits in. Yeah, this is going to take an entire season.

Hopefully, he can. Go out there and stay healthy.

So if you thought Philadelphia just had A.J. Brown complaining. Who, by the way, A.J. Brown was a a scratch yesterday with his hamstring issue. As the Eagles went out there and beat the Giants.

He wasn't out there to complain, but People were still complaining about that tush push. New York Giants were complaining about the tush push. And the more that it goes on, I'm really thinking it's eventually going to get bad. We got people complaining about the injuries. We got referees saying that it's hard to legislate.

You got, you can't judge on offsides. Everybody's moving. Yesterday we had. Hurts fumbled the ball. Thibodeau got it, but it wasn't a fumble.

It was just. Nuts out there. This is what Kayvon Thibodeau had to say about the tush push. He hates it. What was going through your mind during the tush-push where it looked like you got forced to fumble?

Man. Um. I don't know, that's some b man. Honestly, when it comes to the to that play, and what happened, I feel like, you know, the refs, they got a kind of a hard job 'cause They don't know when to stop it, you know. And I think it's tough on defense, obviously, because it's like you stop the first surge, the ref don't blow the whistle.

You get the ball out and you take it and all of a sudden it's, you know, um whatever you said, the Forward progress though. At the end of the day, you just gotta keep playing, man. Try to keep giving it your best in. What was your explanation to you, Elise? Did you ask any questions?

He said they called the forward progress before he reached the ball out.

Sounds like some bullshit. That's and that's the hard part about the swish push. Oh yeah, sorry. I mean that was a great call by the Ralph. He does he don't want to get fine.

I'm just here so I don't get fine. You know, Bacha, I still really don't have an issue with it. Because there's really one team that uses it, so I really don't care. But I think we're going to get to the point they're ultimately going to ban the damn thing. They should.

At this point, There's a lot of things. Each week Now that are all just coming together. To prove why the Tosh Push is not a play that can be officiated in the sport of football, American football at least, where it's either one. The guard jumps offside, or he's offside, lined up wrong. Two, he false starts.

Before the ball snapped, or three now, they don't know when to stop the play. Because of course. Forward progress is a judgment call. And if you're going to run this every time. How are you going to decide when the play is dead?

Do you have. are now two seconds to push. Or are you going to have five?

So it's just. Too many things all at once coming together, on top of the fact that players are hurting their necks, they're hurting their backs. and they're getting stepped and trampled over. to gain three yards. Yeah.

No, we've reached critical mass on the tush push. I think. I mean, it almost got voted down this offseason. I think we're. We've come down to a wrap.

The tush-push, I think, is going to be done. Yeah, I think this might be the last season of it. Let's see if the Eagles. can use the tush push Gotta push them into another Super Bowl. We'll see.

We got plenty of time. The JR Sport Brief Show here with you, coast to coast, on the Infinity Sports Network. 888-710-4ISN is the number. Oh, what an ugly Monday night football game that's gonna be the Cardinals and the Cowboys next week. Ugh At least Kyler Murray should be back.

Anyway, we're going to take a break when we come back. I'm gonna give you an update. On the World Series game number three, I'm going to give you an update. On Monday night football between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Washington Commanders. We got so much to get into.

We got more show on the way. A few things that took place this day in sports history. We got a lot to do. You're locked in, you're listening. It's the JR Sport Brief Show Coast to Coast, the Infinity Sports Network.
