Well, He he's been benched again. I don't want to say full on that he's been jettisoned. by another team that they have given him the boot, uh but it might be on the way. Russell Wilson after three starts with the New York Giants He's been told. Take a seat.
It's time for Jackson Dart, Jackson Dark, who the New York Giants traded back up into the first round to get, with the 25th overall pick out Ole Miss. Jackson Dart the hope for the New York Giants was that he would not be seen, until later this year. Or or maybe not even next year. Keep in mind, this is a New York Giants team that went into the damn regular season. with Russell Wilson as the starter.
Jameis Winston is quarterback three. and Jackson Dart. At quarterback number two.
Okay, over the past three games Jackson Dart hasn't really played. He hasn't thrown a pass yet. They throw him out there on red zone opportunities, hand the ball off, and rush a couple yards. He has not. really played.
but he is going to get his first start. Against the Chargers. God bless him. He doesn't have to run from Khalil Mack. And then after that, their next game is against the Saints.
And so the New York Giants, I think if you're Brian Dayball, you're trying to spark the team.
Okay, we know Russell Wilson is not running anywhere. And Jackson Dart at least, I don't want to say gives you the illusion he can go out there and run with the football. Teams have to account for something else than you know, Russell Wilson moon balls. And outside of that, that shootout, that the New York Giants had with the Dallas Cowboys, What has Russell Wilson shown you? Nothing.
Okay, they just lost to the Chiefs 22 to 9. They were out there, they being the New York Giants fans. They were booing the living hell out of Russell Wilson. They were calling for Jackson Dart. This has been an ongoing thing.
Yeah. It really stinks. I told you about Russell Wilson, right?
Okay. Seattle Seahawks. Two Super Bowl appearances. Could have been a two-time champ. Woulda, coulda, shoulda did not happen.
We saw him throw that interception to Malcolm Butler. He goes, he beefs with. Pete Carroll on his way out the door. He wants to be traded. Eventually they're both gone.
He goes to Denver. Things stink in Denver. They give him that massive contract. Last year he end oh, Sean Payton said, I don't want this guy. probably 'cause he's a phony.
And then he ends up with the Steelers. Mike Tomlin is just like Okay, well He's better than Fields, and then he's not better than Fields, and then we don't want him. They go with an even older quarterback and Aaron Rodgers. And so now Russell Wilson signs with the New York Giants. A chance and an opportunity to start.
And in three games he has thrown three touch downs, in three interceptions, including two this past Sunday, against the chiefs. It was all good just a few months ago. Russell Wilson, Mr. Positivity himself, Captain Positive. He talked about how uh joining the Giants was so great.
I bet, Russell. Really love just the whole process here. Just obviously, Joe and Coach Dayball and and uh the rest of the staff and people here. I mean, just the environment. I I obviously love uh playing in MetLife Stadium, a lot of good memories here, um, and everything else, but just uh what really was exciting was the players, the guys, you know, just the um some of the guys that got to meet here, um, at you know, at that at the facility, but also to some of the guys I've admired playing against.
Oh, yeah.
Okay, great.
Well, he ain't gonna play no more. There is no flipping a coin and going back. Jackson Dart is going to play. Unless things are just very Very. catastrophic.
He's going to get an opportunity to make mistakes. He's going to have an opportunity to look good, He's going to have an opportunity to throw interceptions and touchdowns and maybe. Do ups and downs provide a little bit of a glimpse. As to someone who might be the future quarterback, for the New York Giants. We know Russell Wilson was never going to be a long-term option.
What took place is basically what was going to be the case. He was going to hold down the fort. Until Jackson Dart, was ready. I just don't think anybody thought that it would be three games. And if you're Brian Dayball, You've been this head coach.
For the New York Giants since 2022, you were able to take them to the postseason with Daniel Jones and Saquon. But since then things have just gotten worse. Six and eleven the following year. Three and fourteen last year. You're starting 0-3.
I mean, 9-28 over the past couple of seasons. Come on now. Brian Dayball is behind. is here Born. The Hot Sea.
Come on, man. This man is on the hot seat. They may fly it as due. And so, at least if he puts Jackson Dart onto the field, you go, hey, we got to develop this guy. You can't fire me now.
Come on back in July Brian Dabo He talked about this uh this quarterback competition and and you got Jameis and Dart, and at this time they still had Tommy DeVito and Russell Wilson. Listen to this. Can any of the other quarterbacks challenge Russell for the week one starting job or is that door closed? That's his. Yeah, like I said, these guys will be out here competing, but Rush is our starter.
Yeah, Russ is our starter. Mm.
Well, we all know things. things change. Right?
Okay. What a coach tells you today could be very different than what a coach tells you. Tomorrow. I mean, damn it, after The Commanders beat the Giants to open up the season, twenty one to six. It was only the very next day When Brian Dabo was asked, Hey, You gonna bench Russell Wilson?
E six points? You kind of left it hanging out there, so I think you have to start here. Do you intend to start Russell Wilson this week? Yeah. Yep.
Okay. I mean and after a game, you know, it's an emotional game. Um it's a tough game. You know, didn't play particularly well, I would say, collectively. But in terms of making any of those decisions, really at any position or schematic changes, I'd like to.
you know do it with a clear head and watch watch the tape and Again, like I said yesterday, that game just doesn't fall on Russell Wilson. You got to do a better job collectively. coaching plan. But but Russ will be the starter. Oh, was that even ever really a decision for you?
Well, again, it's right at the end of the game. I mean, when you went back and watched it. No, no, Russ will be the starter. Yeah. Yep.
That was two weeks ago. All right. The Giants look like they're gonna beat the Cowboys. Cowboys beat 'em. You got Aubrey out here kicking a hundred yard field goals.
And then the New York Giants just in embarrassing fashion couldn't couldn't hang with the Chiefs, twenty two to nine. Two interceptions. Yesterday Brian Dable was asked, well, this is a new ass whooping. Are you going to bench Russell Wilson? This was yesterday.
Most Monday afternoons, you know who your quarterback's going to be the upcoming week if everyone's healthy, though. It just seems a little different. Your your responses. Yeah, well look we're going through the tape right now. We're evaluating everything Some quarterback changes on the table.
I'd say we're evaluating everything. Ooh. Yeah, well. Yeah. That's a little different than two weeks ago now, isn't it?
Russell Wilson is done. Let's see what Jackson Dart does.
Okay, I'm excited to see what he can do. I'm gonna make sure that I sit down. and I watched that game. I mean the fans were cheering for him. On Sunday.
Everybody in the locker room, the players, guys Dexter Lawrence and Brian Burke all these guys were asked, Did you hear it? Did you hear it? Did you hear what they said? Did did you hear the fans chanting for Jackson Dart? Did did you hear them booing?
Russell Wilson? Damn, Russell Wilson was talking about how, yeah, you gotta have thick skin. to be a quarterback in the NFL, and I think he's learned that. Sean Payton didn't want him, basically. threw him under the bus and ran over him a bunch of times.
Mike Tomlin and the Steelers didn't want him. He goes to the New York Giants and they tell him to have a seat. It's rough for Russell Wilson, right? He's been getting the boot. all over the place, it would not surprise me.
If Russell Wilson is traded. In James Winston. is the backup. That always seemed like a possibility. What you getting?
You getting more for Russell Wilson? You getting more for Jameis Winston. I get it. They're both uh kinda damaged goods at this point in time. Russell Wilson is more likely to get another crack somewhere.
Then Jameis Of course, Russell Wilson always got to be the good guy. Is he going to say that he wants out, or is that going to harm his reputation? Is it going to be painted as a team asked for me? And so, you know, I said, Hey, you know, I want to play.
So, you know, as much as I liked it with the Giants and of course I want to play and the team asked for me and so I I got traded. Russell Wilson's always going to try to say face. I would not be surprised. If Russell Wilson was gone from the New York Giants, And on another team. over the next month, before we hit the deadline.
I wouldn't be surprised. And this is pretty hilarious as well. It was only a couple of weeks ago. Jackson Dart himself, was asked by the media Do you not hear the fans cheering for you? Do you not hear the fans calling for you to be the starter for the Giants?
Um I'll pay attention to that stuff. No, I think it's just the kind of like the nature of the sport like Anytime that things, you know, you don't win, people talk, and things like that happen. It's completely different when you win. Um you got to take all that with a grain of salt. Ah, okay.
What a world. It's a new one. Here we are, THE NEW YORK GINTS having named Jackson Dart the starter, And Russell Wilson, has already been benched, three games into the season. The head coach The general manager They're all trying to save their backsides.
So they aren't the next one given The boot. I expect Russell Wilson to be gone from the New York Giants before the season is up. I'd be shocked if he sticks around and just on the bench all the way through the year. You got Jameis Winston to throw out there if things go bad. I expect to see Russell Wilson gone, but of course he wants to save face in the process.
And I think Jackson Dart will give you an even. And when I say even, up and down, pretty much performance here. Throughout the course, of the season. And let's see if he shows life. If he does, Brian Daybole and Joe Shane, They'll be back next year.
We know where Russell Wilson won't be. That's with the New York Giants. His time is going to come to an end, I believe.

And his career. Russell Wilson's not the only guy who's been told no thank you at this point in time. Earlier today, we learned that Mike Gundy. After 21 years at Oklahoma State, He's been shown the door.
Okay, he hasn't been benched. You can't bench a coach. I guess you can't suspend him. He's been told, We don't want you here. any more.
This man has been coaching with the team since two thousand five. 18 straight bowl appearances at one point. He won 12 of them, the Big 12 champions in 2011. But now he's gone. I mean, you could look at not even just this year starting off at one and two.
Getting smacked by Oregon, 69-3. What is that? Getting beat by Tulso over the weekend, 19-12. And they play Baylor on Saturday.
Okay, that's that's odd timing. You got a football game in a couple of days. They just let him do his press conference and his interview and his coach's show. They let him do all of that stuff yesterday, and today they just they they they cut bait. And he he had a whole conversation, a whole press conference yesterday.
And of course one of the larger themes, the largest theme, Was whether or not they were going to fire his behind. He had a press conference, and maybe he said something silly yesterday. They just said, We got to get him out of here. This is Mike Gundy. from yesterday before they fired him today.
I don't necessarily think that we have to have a conversation. I can honestly say that no. But I think that they share a same vision that I have. And I think maybe the conversation hasn't really had to take place because I've been here for 21 years. And I think they know what's on my mind, and I certainly know.
Well, I I shouldn't say I don't. Uh that would be judgmental. But I probably have a pretty good feel for what they want.
So I don't really know that that you know, needs to take place, but I guess my answer would for that would be no at this point. I don't even know if you have an agent at this point, but have any of them reached out to anybody that might represent you? I haven't had an agent. I haven't had an agent in. I don't know, in a year, long time.
Yeah. Jenny, I've gone for all these years when this other job stuff came up, I didn't even have an agent then. Yeah, well, I don't know if he's gonna need one now. Maybe he doesn't. He's going to be making $15 million.
now that they've bought him out. Of his contract. I mean, he already had to take a pay cut. heading into this year based on that horrific record of three and nine last year. And if you roll last year.
with Oklahoma State. Into this year. He's lost. He, I will say he, him. He's a nut, by the way.
This man has lost 11. out of his last twelve games. Yeah, that's one way to get the boot. And then you're out here. It's one thing to get beat up by Oregon and you still got your job.
Okay, it's another thing when you're losing to Tulsa. And shout outs to Tulsa nineteen to twelve. They weren't gonna keep that man around. And so congratulations He gets fifteen million dollars. to do nothing.
And apparently that money is not going to get paid in one lump. They goin' to spread it out for him. And so if he wants to, you know, make any donations, go on any trips. He he'll have to uh, I guess, spend judiciously. With the small amounts of money that they will drip and drab him over the next several years.
Now, Mike Gundy, I say he's a nut. He is. He's crazy. This guy is. Off his damn rocker.
Okay? This man has said some ridiculous things about uh athletes and drunk driving. He's like, yeah, you know, well, uh You know, my players, they drink and drive. Give them a break. I've done it too.
Like, what? What are you saying? And then a couple years ago, he's. I think he upsets some of his players with some of his uh political beliefs. Um he is uh quite the personality.
I don't know. Maybe Mike Gundy will get into politics. Maybe he will be a. I don't know. Maybe he'd be a a rabble rouser.
Maybe he will inspire folks. I have No idea. I mean, who can forget? I mean, he's defended his players over worse, like drunk driving. What a dumbass thing to say.
But not too long after he got the job in like 2007, 2008, he was defending one of his quarterbacks. He felt that they were ripping him to shreds in the papers. Yeah, newspapers were still moving at that time. He didn't appreciate it. And he went on one of the most famous rants by a coach ever.
I don't care if you gotta think about Bobby Knight or Jim Morrow. Mike Gundy put himself in that category with his uh I'm a man rant. Come after me. Where are we at in society today? Come after me.
I'm a man. I'm forty. I'm not a p- I'm not a kid. Write something about me. or our coaches.
I'm writing about a kid that does everything right, that's hearts broken. And then say that the coaches said he was scared? That ain't true! And then to say that we made that decision because Donovan Woods, because he threatened to transfer, that's not true!
So get your facts straight. And I hope someday you have a child, and somebody downgrades him and belittles him, and you have to look him in the eye and say, you know what? It's okay. They're supposed to be mature adults, but they're really not. Who's the kid here?
Who's the kid here? Are you kidding me? That's all I got to say. Makes me want to puke.
Well, I mean, all the signs were there for a very long time about this man's uh. But what goes on in his head, I hope that you have a kid one day. And I hope they beat up on your kids so you can understand the pain that you're putting this kid through. Whoa. Whoa, whoa, whoa Mike Gundy is uh I know uh the podcast market is oversaturated.
Okay, we got a bunch of athletes sitting around doing podcasts, and they're lying to each other. We got coaches who are going into traditional broadcasting. See Michael Malone recently signed with ESPN former championship head coach of the the uh Denver Nuggets. Mike Gundy seems like the type. Like, I can see Mike Gundy sitting around on a podcast, just complaining about everything.
going on in the world. He would actually make some money. I wouldn't be surprised to see him. I know he got 15 mil coming over the next several years. I would not be surprised.
If Mike Gundy was sitting around, Doing a podcast. I actually uh Expect it. I think that'll line his pockets a little bit more. In addition to the 15 mil That he has coming his way. I told you about some other bad news coming out of the state of Oklahoma.
Well, bad news for Sooner fans has nothing to do with Oklahoma. John Matthier, is going to need surgery. On his throne head.
Okay, he heard it and and beaten up on Auburn over the weekend. He's gonna be out a month. This man transferred over is his first year here. And now you got a broken hand. I mean, God bless Arch Manning for bouncing back over the weekend, making people shut up for a little while.
I wonder where that guy is who called us last week and said he only has the job. because his last name is Manning. I mean, come on now, give the guy a break. But now that Arch Manning hasn't been all that hot and John Mattier he was at the top for the Heisman. He's not going to be there no more.
And it's it's really un unfortunate. This man is helping his sooners out not just with his his throwing arm. also doing it with his feet, and so really stinks that this man is going to be out It's going to have surgery on his right hand tomorrow, so really stinks for the Sooners. He has six throwing touchdowns, leads the Sooners in rushing. And um It stinks for them.

So I I wouldn't be all that concerned. Uh I I'd hope to see Mike Evans back sooner than later.

And we even got Jason Tatum, who's on a little bit. of a mediator, And speaking of coaches who got fired, I'd say the most famous firing in the NBA in the offseason was, well, Tom Thibodeau being released.
of his duties coaching The New York Knicks. Yeah, this was I mean, it's the Knicks. I can't say it's it's surprising. This man was the Knicks' coach for five years. Went to the playoffs in four out of five seasons.
Helped take him to the Eastern Conference Finals, something that they haven't done since the year 2000. Here's some simple math. That's twenty five years.
Okay, he had a regular season record of 226. and one seventy four. He's had success with this team. But all a lot of people wanted to complain about were the minutes to the the bench guys, who, by the way, the New York Knicks decided to retool their bench, bringing in guys like Jordan Clarkson. would lead you to believe that the bench maybe it actually suck last year, That's why he didn't play him as much.
Uh so Tibbs got fired. And we don't hear from the New York Knicks organization much. They kind of Kinda media verse. The owner James Dolan will pop up every now and then to say somethin' stupid. The president guy running basketball operations, Leon Rose, is.
not prone or apt to communicate publicly with the media. I mean, damn it, the New York Knicks, they introduced their head coach Mike Brown. Nobody introduced him. Nobody. They he just kinda walked onto the stage and introduced himself.

And what's also interesting about the Knicks, if Mike Brown doesn't go to the Eastern Conference finals, which is not a guarantee, People are going to look at him and just go, Why the hell did we get rid of Tibbs? Or the New York Knicks fans will accept it because the Knick fans, some of them. are also delusional. The New York Knicks made a coaching move that that didn't necessarily need to be made.
They made a move because Well the Knicks are stupid. They're dumb. Anyway. Let's see what the dumbass Knicks do throughout the course of the season.

Okay, what his career has been. It's just It's terrible. I mean, he's only played more than thirty games twice. He played exactly thirty games last year. He's been overweight.
Charles Barkley has destroyed him for his lack of conditioning. Shaquille O'Neal has destroyed him. I'll never forget. Charles Barkley said that he looks like if he and Jack had a baby. Like, he has been.
Bad And then that that's not even counting in all his off the court. Endeavours. You know, his personal life which has just been plastered all over TMZ. This guy has adult film stars coming after him, trying to rip apart his name and. Oh, my God, it it's it's been tough for Zion.
I jest tope as I posted. He's skinny now. Is he going to stay in shape? Throughout the course of the season. And I know that sounds crazy.
Some guys show up to work, and professional athletes they play their way into shape. You have other guys who put on muscle and they don't work out as much throughout the year, they lose it. There's no guarantee that Zion, because he is slim now, is gonna stay slim throughout the season. What happens when he gets on to the road? You know, is he gonna be poppin'?
Bags of Doritos, you know, when he gets to the hotel room? We have no idea. His issues, if you ask me, hamstrings back? These would be issues I would think, you know, have to deal a little bit with uh, you know, with conditioning.
So let's see if Zion can Stay healthy. Botcher, you're giving uh Zion uh fifty games over under. Oh, 50, you're pushing it. I I would say if that number was like near 40, I would say he could probably hit that. But 50 is uh.
Very generous for someone who's hadn't had a real healthy season forever. You're putting him in Joel and B territory, huh? Yeah, until I'm proven otherwise, I can't say he's going to be healthy. Wow. Yeah, tough.

Al Horford is expected to either retire or end up with the Golden State Warriors. They brought on Anthony Simons. This is a different team. This is not the team that won a championship, and so we'll see what Jalen Brown does throughout the course of the year. But all things considered, If I'm Tatum, I'm not pushing it, man.
