And we got into Joe Mixon, his injury. with the Houston Sexens. Adam Thielen. Going back to Minnesota. We had a great guest on.

Thank you so much to Carrington Harrison. You can hear him right on the Infinity Sports Network. You can listen to him. on his show The Drive in Kansas City. We talked about Bill Belichick embracing the term gold digger.

apparently his girlfriend and he. have trademarked the term gold digger. Yeah, make money off of it. Why don't you? We just learned that Travis Hunter had a baby.

I I'd call it a secret baby, but he's He's married. Can't have a secret baby if you're married. And of course they announced the baby on on their YouTube blog.

Okay, all right. There you go. Welcome to the world. You you announced uh The baby on YouTube. Travis Kelsey announces his wedding, he announces his baby.

What announcement will they come up with next? And then we talked about Cam Newton. Cam Newton has a new contract with ESPN. Expect to see more of Cam on first take. Arguing with everybody.

Tom Brady now has access to uh speaking to the other teams during the NFL season. Keep in mind he owns part of the Raiders. He's a Fox broadcaster. They don't want him talking to the opposition and stealing some uh Some data, some intel. And we have more to get into as the show continues on.

Man, I didn't expect to give Travis Hunter baby news. Of course, at the end of the show, we'll talk about a few things that took place this day in sports history. Don Staley revealing some details about her uh Job interview with the New York Knicks. Arch Manning has even more money coming his way. This is a lot going on in the world of sports.

And I gave you a top six list, my top six.

Some of my favorite Athletes in sports media today. If you missed a minute, a second, anything. From this show. You can go ahead and hit rewind. on the free Odyssey app.

Here, let me give you a quick recap. one of my favorite athletes in sports media today. And number six I gave you David Cohn. Yeah, baseball pitcher. World Series chant.

All the things, all-star. And number five, I gave you Jeff Teague. People forget that he was an all-star. Yeah, he may not be the biggest name, but he is one of the best storytellers. Anyone who could tell a story.

About shoving LeBron James out the way just because you were losing. He's good in my book. A matter of fact. Let's listen to Jeff Teague. Tell everybody on his 520 podcast Why did you show the block?

One of the greatest NBA players ever. Tell me, Jeff Teague, what happened? What was your issue when you pushed LeBron, bro? Why do you do that? We were losing.

He was beaten. Man, I win a playoff game against that d ⁇ . ever. I was sick of this shit.

So fans in Atlanta cheering for him. He running down the crowd. I say, you know what? I got some for you. Show to check the out there.

I got so much hate, man. If he would have been hurt, I would have killed you. I'm like, damn, I gotta get off the internet. That's when I first deleted Instagram. Anybody, he's like, why did I shove LeBron?

Because I'm a sore loser. He's like, the home team is cheering for LeBron James. He's the visitor. Yeah, I appreciate his honesty. I got Greg Olsen at number four.

He's better than Tom Brady, but Tom Brady has the name. And number three, I gave you Draymond Green. And number two, I gave you the Kelsey brothers. and the number one guy in sports media that was an athlete. It's Charles Barclay.

That's it. That's number one. It's Charles Barkley, his honesty, everything. We've heard about the quips with the big old women in San Antonio. We've heard the fat jokes.

We've. We've seen him make fun of himself. He's kissing Dick Bevetta and He's a funny dude. And I've told you, I've had plenty of interactions with him. I used to work over at NBA TV, so I used to see him in the back.

I'd be on NBA TV, he'd be on TNT. And Charles Brockley is a funny dude. You see him quite often here in Atlanta, Georgia. And I remember one of the first times maybe the first time that I ever met Charles Barkley. Might have been about 15 years ago, maybe longer than that.

It was for the NCAA Final Four. I think it was either in Dallas, Texas, it might have been here in Atlanta. And me and Charles Barkley, I'm getting ready to interview the guy. And at this point in time, I didn't have the hair that I had now. I don't got all the beard that I have now.

I had on my glasses at the time. And Charles Barkley, uh he took some umbrage. with who and what I look like. Listen to this from my own YouTube channel.

So we have a special guest on the sport brief today. Uh he has what about Kevin Hart? I look like Kevin Hart. You know what? I spoke to Kenny Smith like last week and you know he told me.

He said, I look like uh Cliff Paul. You do look like Cliff Paul. I'm not sure that's a compliment. I'm just messing with you.

So which one is it? I'm not sure they're both ugly. I'm just kidding, man. You know what, Charles? Between, I have no luck between you and Kenny.

Why? I don't know. You know what? I'm just going to dropkick one of y'all. I don't know.

It'd probably be best for you to drop kick Kenny. You know what? He's from Queens. I'm from the Bronx.

So we. And I think all you New Yorkers are overrated. Yeah, yeah. I have never had a clean conversation. In my life with that guy.

Very nice guy Charles Barclay is. Always has something funny to say. He is being. who he is. I got Charles Barkley number one on my list.

You want to talk about the best story? Sports broadcaster ever? When it comes to media personality, I I think it's him. And when you talk about one of the best TV personalities in the history of television. Charles Barkley is right there, and I know TV has changed, and now it's media.

Period. Media, TV, whatever the hell you want to call it. Charles Barkley is one of the best ever. I don't care if it's news, sports, comedy. He's one of the best personalities we've ever had.

in media. 888-710-4ISN. That's 888-710-4ISN. Let's go to the phone lines. We got people who have some thoughts on their favorite.

broadcasters who played sports or maybe they're still playing. Uh let's go to doc. He's calling from Tennessee. You're on the chair of our sport reshow. What's up, Doc?

And quite a review. JR, great talking. You I'm honored that you have me on as the prelim to this when you're talking about the top six. I'm the one that Mentioned that you astutely get all these right, and it's mind-blowing to me. I agree absolutely with your top two.

Wrote them on a piece of paper, and this is about the third time you just do a Tremendous job of analyzing the right order. I will tell you, since you mentioned the Kelsey brothers, I do think probably the third, probably most famous couple are guys doing it right now, the Manning Brothers, because Peyton's got his own production show and they're doing all these things together. And I would put them up there in the media. Maybe not as glamorous as some of the ones you've had, but Anyway, I just want to tell you, you're absolutely right about Charles Barkley being the number one. All-around entertainment person.

And his ab lib with you is just perfect about. the two comedians he was telling or whatever.

So anybody just want to comment on that? I will tell you I'm going to be in your Hotlantown this weekend watching. the Peyton, our Tennessee balls romp and stop, hopefully. And I always appreciate your show. You do a tremendous job, and thank you for all you did.

All right, well thank you, Doc, for calling from Tennessee. Have a wonderful time. Yeah, have a wonderful time here in Atlanta. Y'all be minding my business. I'm going to be watching all the games, okay?

I'll be watching all the games. And kudos on bringing up the Mannings. That happens to be another set of brothers. That are ultimately going to get into the Hall of Fame. We only got one right now, we got the Sharps.

We're going to have the Kelseys whenever Jason retires. And then sooner than that, we're going to have the Mannings get in there first. Because Eli Ben retired. Maybe he doesn't have to. Maybe they make him wait a long time.

We got to figure that out. Eli is ultimately going to get in the Hall of Fame, without a shadow of a doubt.

Now, I also got to tell you. I've seen clips of the Manning Cast, I have never I've never sat down and really watched that through. I haven't. Like, they haven't had anybody on that makes me go, you know what I want to do. Switch over.

Now at the same damn time I'm I'm typically on the air. Like, I'm typically on the air during all the games, so I just don't be seeing nothing. 888-710.

Well, I see, I can't hear. 888-710-4ISN. Like like when I heard Taylor Townsend earlier today. Oh my God. What an event.

I'm sitting here on the air watching the U.S. Open. And I see Taylor Townsend, not the biggest name in U.S. tennis, but she's at the U.S. Open.

And she's playing against a woman from Latvia. Yelena? Ostepenko. And she beat her. It should be the one set, two set, go home.

And she went to shake her hand, right? And Yelena Ostopenko had some words for her. And then Taylor Townsend, who's from Chicago, actually lives here in Georgia. She kinda looked at her and didn't back down. She was like, she's being a sore loser.

And and she was giving it right back to her. And then she got the crowd hyped up. The crowd was sick of Helena for whining and complaining anybody with two eyes. Could see that she was being a whiny cry baby loser. And she was hyping the fans up.

and the fans were booing Helena off the court. in true American fashion. You want to come to America and complain? Uh get out. And then they asked Taylor Townsend on ESPN.

What was that interaction? You don't typically see people fighting and yelling and getting into it on a tennis court. Listen to what Taylor Townsend said. Yeah, I mean, you know, it's competition. People get upset when they lose and you can't, some people say bad things.

She told me I have no class, I have no education, and to see what happens when we get outside the U.S.

So I'm looking forward to it. I mean, I beat her in Canada outside the U.S. I beat her in New York outside the U.S.

So let's see what else she has to say. Oh.

Now she obviously she misspoke I could beat in America, I could beat out America. But that's a low blow. That's a low. Why you gotta be so dirty? Who says that at a tennis match?

You got no class, you're uneducated? Yes, I agree with Taylor Townsend. Take your loser ass home. Cry, baby. eight eight eight seven ten four I S N That's 888-710-4.

Talking about some of your favorite broadcasters that are At where are our athletes? Sell It's calling up from Greenville, South Carolina. You're on the JR Sport Refshop. Yeah, J.R., what's going on, my man? I'm terrific.

How are you? Tell him, my man. Hey, I totally agree with you. Charles Barkley is definitely number one on that list. Kelsey Brothers is growing on me.

And honorable mention, Carmelo Anthony, 7 PM in Brooklyn podcast. I don't know if you want it or anything like that, if you really pay attention to it, but Definitely a dope show, and he's starting to get a lot of big guests too, as well, if you haven't watched. But I like his co-host, Miro, as well. And I forgot the other dude who's. I believe he's like an NBA insider, if I'm not mistaken.

I forgot his name. Yeah. Isn't the guy, no, isn't it the guy from Used to Be on the Show on Showtime? I can't remember that guy's name, the comedian. Right, right.

Merrow, Merrow. Oh, that's his name? Yeah. Look, I've seen the clips. I think there's one up.

The only thing I've really ever paid attention to from Carmelo And I know Carmelo is going to be one of the broadcasters on NBC, one of the analysts.

So I'm interested to hear. Carmelo in a different setting. I have spoken to Carmelo A bunch too over the years. Carmelo is a very funny guy, very straightforward. I had a conversation with Carmelo one time, and this was.

I don't even think it was might maybe on camera, maybe not. Me and Carmelo, he was doing some promotion. And I'm standing there years ago, and I still believe this today. He's just he said something about the media. And he's this is why he was still playing.

He was on the New York Knicks, and he's like, You guys in the meet, I had to go, whoa, whoa, whoa, Carmella. Wait a minute, brother. Me? I'm not I'm not I'm not media. I'm not traditional media.

I'm over here minding my business. I'm a guy on the internet. I I do this, I do that, but and then he he kind of understood. I'm like, I'm not running around trying to get you in stories. I'm not a beat reporter.

Don't love me in the media, man. And this is way before everybody and their mother was podcasting. Carmelo is a cool dude. The one episode that I paid attention to was The one where he described the incident. with uh Kevin Garnett and the Honey Nut Cheerios and Uh uh Iman Schumpert was there with him.

But I I don't think Carmelo can solo tell a story. Like some of these other guys. He's great in a casual setting where you could set him up and lead him on. But there's some other guys that I think could just lead things by themselves better than Carmelo. I'm real interested to see what he does on TV.

Yeah, I definitely can't wait to see what he's doing. NBC, if I'm not mistaken, right? Correct. He'll be on NBC. Yeah, NBC.

And another thing, I caught the like the last minute of it where you was playing the clip with uh Charles Barkley talking about the the the fat women or whatever. Uh oh. And I I like I got in my car And honestly, I I thought it was Muhammad Ali. Like, if you listen to that clip, I don't know if you can play it back, but if you guys get time down the line. Play it again.

and like listen to like a Muhammad Ali's clip, like to where they would you know talk trash. And then I forgot that Mohammed Ali was from Louisville and I know uh You from the Leeds, Alabama, yeah.

Okay, okay, so they're not from the same place, but they have the same cadence. I'm telling you, JR, you gotta listen to that, man. I'll do this for you, so before we get out of here today, before we finish this show, which has only got about 40 minutes left. We will play that San Antonio woman clip just for you, okay? My man.

All right, shout outs to self for caller from Greenville. That is one of that clip about And that's not even the original clip about the women in San Antonio. That's not even the clip. Not even the clip. It's him saying, I'm not going to apologize.

But you know, if you want to make a, if you want to look at the similarities between. Muhammad Ali and Charles Barkley, the fact is. Both of these dudes, whatever they had to say. They set it with their chest There was no whispering it. There was no tapping somebody in the shoulder.

Excuse me, excuse me. No, they said what they said, they said what's on their mind. 888-710-4ISN. That's eight eight eight seven ten. 4ISN.

Alan is calling from Toronto. You're on the JR Support Brief Show. Yeah, hi, J.R. Always eager to talk to you. Thank you very much for taking my call.

My favorite is Chris Collinsworth. Year career in Cincinnati and a three-time Pro Bowler, and he is a very, very polarizing figure for Monday Night fans. And he convinces every fan on every team That he's out, he he has it in for them for these guys. He's not he's biased against them. Right, right.

Sunday night football is more polar. than uh Monday night football, the legendary Monday night football. I mean, I have nothing against uh Aikman and Buck, but And I like it better, I like better with him and Mike Tarico. for him to get it the legendary. Al Michos.

And he's a modern-day Power Coast felt. He's critical when it's warranted, and he heaps praise when it's deserving. And he enjoys his work. He's got a great personality. like yourself.

I'll say this to you, Alan. You're 100% correct. There have been plenty of times, especially over the years as I've traveled, I I typically do traveling on on Sundays. And so I'll get into a city And it's like, hey, first thing I need to do is eat. I need to find somewhere to eat.

And I need to find somewhere to watch Sunday night football. And so I have been in many bars and many hotel rooms all over the country. Just turning the TV on and catching Sunday night football. And Chris Collins wrote to your point, you're 100% accurate. A lot of people go.

Man, he's rooting and pulling for the other team. He's rooting and pulling for the other team. And it's a lot of fun. I feel like I got a story. for everybody.

And thank you, Alan, for calling from Toronto. I sat down with Chris Collinsworth. equally around, maybe fifteen, sixteen years ago, And one of the first things I said to him, I guess I'm a jerk. I guess I am. I think I know I am.

Me and him are having a conversation, and then he mentions something about the Super Bowl, and he goes. Yeah, I lost, and I go, yeah, and I named the year. I go, yeah, I know you lost. And we just kept on. He's a great guy.

He's a he's a great dude. And shout outs to Chris Collinsworth. He's a very nice guy. It's the J.R. Sport Brief Show here with you, coast to coast, on the Infinity Sports Network.

We got so much to get into. Of course, at the end of the show, we'll talk about a few things that took place this day in sports history. Dawn Stanley. Had some words about interviewing with the New York Knicks. Arch Manning is getting more money.

I told you we will play that clip for everybody who likes the Charles Barkley clip about San Antonio. We'll do that. And honor or sell. And we got a lot more to get into. It's the JR Sport Reef Show, Coast to Coast, the Infinity Sports Network.

You're listening to the JR Sport Brief. It is the J. R. Sport Re Show. on the Infinity Sports Network.

Man, we we've done a lot about the media. We got Taylor Townsend Getting in your length and panko.

Well, she didn't get in her face. She told her all for getting in her face. When you start finger pointing at somebody, first of all, you lost. And are you going to get in somebody's face and start the finger pointing and finger pointing and finger pointing? Man, get your loser ass off the court.

Stop complaining. That was a fun interaction. Taylor Townsend, my new favorite tennis player, okay? Found out Travis Hunter's having a baby. Oh, he had the baby.

The baby's here already. Damn. Got married, had a baby, got drafted. He just did everything possible in a year. I'd be like, man, take some of it in.

Had that baby right away. Look, got the money for it, right?

So, I guess why not? Good for him. Rasheed Rice got suspended. And how about this? We heard from Don Staley.

She was on the podcast with Aaliyah Boston and Candace Parker. Shout out to Candice. And she basically said I was one of the people and we heard this rumor. Like she interviewed with the New York Knicks for their head coaching job. She would leave South Carolina if she was offered the job and she'd go coach the New York Knicks.

Take a listen to this.

Well, seriously, like, I. I interview for the Knicks. I did. It was the same interview that everybody else. That was in their candidate pool.

Same thing. Went in. I mean, it was like hours in the interview. I I thought I did pretty well. I was well prepared.

for the interview. Right. If the Knicks would have offer me the job. I would have had to do it.

Okay. Not just for me, it's for women. For Just to break open that. That I would have to and it's the New York Knicks and I'm from Philly, but It's the freakin' New York Knicks. Yeah.

And I I agree with her. You you understand the fact that she would have to. As crazy as an organization as the Knicks are. The Knicks are in the number one media market, they are the New York Knicks. The Knicks are just nutty.

Good luck to Mike Brown with the New York Knicks. The Knicks improved their roster as much as people weren't happy with Thibodeau about his usage of the roster. and the depth of it. They they decided to improve it.

So, I don't know what that says about Tibbs versus how good the roster was or was not. Don Staley I think she'd be a great NBA coach. I mean, we already see how great she is down at South Carolina. Man. One day we are going to get a female NBA coach.

We thought it was going to be Becky Hammond for a while taking over for Greg Popovich. She decided to. Get her head coaching job on the WNBA side, leaving the NBA. We're going to get a female coach one day. And hopefully, whoever gets that job.

ends up with a better organization. Than the New York Knicks. 888-710-4ISN. That's 888-710-4ISN. Tom is calling from Hawaii.

You on the J. R. Support Re Show. What's up, Tom? Hey, JR, how are you doing today, sir?

I feel amazing. How are you? I'm Gray. Just got off work, about to start my fassey draft. All is well in the world.

Hey, I had some uh I had some uh folks to uh nominate for uh sports uh sports guys that went to media.

Okay. As a die-hard Bronco fan, I'd like to nominate one of my favorite players of all time in my wife's Hall Pass, Shannon Sharp. Uh-oh. What? What did you j what?

Whoa, whoa, whoa. I didn't expect to hear that. Does she know? Do you know what he's you know why he's been so kind of quiet recently? Why, you know, right, right?

Well, yeah, I mean, other other than the obvious recent stuff, yeah.

Okay. But uh, uh, always been a fan of Shannon. Uh anybody that uh that goes against Skip, I'm a fan of. And then the Shay Shay stuff is usually pretty interesting stuff.

So what about Shannon? No, I got you.

Well, Dan is is he st is is she still you still giving your wife a hall pass with this guy? No, not really. Oh, okay. I'm like $50 million. How much was it?

A $50 million lawsuit? How much did he settle for? It was a lot. I can't remember, but uh she she's always been uh She says that he is the epitome of tight ends, if you will. Uh Oh, okay.

You know how it is. What what do you do? And then I also thought uh Pat McAfee's done pretty well for himself, from going from just this kicker to to make it pretty much immediate empire to uh he's he's done pretty well for himself as well.

So I I'd say he's done beyond doing pretty well for himself. And so At this point in time, let's let's hope that he doesn't burn out. all the jobs he has, you know? That's true, he's a busy man. Hey, quick, if I could, a story about Charles, who I agree is number one.

I grew up in Salt Lake City and uh whenever he would uh when he was with Houston or with when he was with Phoenix and they would come to play the jazz, he would often more often than not spend his entire afternoon By himself at a food board at a mall next to the Delta Center, just hanging out and and just talking to fans.

So he's always been a really good guy with uh with the people and this real down to earth fun guy. I met him a few times just going to food court. 'Cause whenever whenever uh whenever Phoenix was in town we'd go and I'd see if he'd be there and chances are he'd be there either with a teammate or by himself just hanging out. That's pretty cool. Yeah, pretty good dude.

And pretty cool for you. You you're a smart man. You left Salt Lake City to go to Hawaii, huh?

Well, I tell you what, I grew up in Salt Lake. It got really crowded around the pandemic, and I was like, I'm going to try something new. And I've always been a Utah or a Hawaii fan, so I took the plunge, man. Oh, man. You left?

I used to live in some two pretty places. You left Salt Lake City to go to Hawaii in the pandemic. Yeah, you're a smart man. Good man. Where's my invite, Tom?

You don't got no hotel deal for me somewhere? And why not, my man? I mean, you know, I don't have a lot of deals, but I'm sure I could find something for you. Yeah, dude, you know where to find me. You know where to email me, right?

You know how to get my email? Not hard to find. I could probably figure that out. Yeah, it's not that difficult, Tom. Yeah.

All right, Tom.

Well, hit me an email, okay? Will do, my friend. Have a great one. Good night. Thank you, Tom, for calling.

He ain't going to email me. He's like, I ain't giving JR no deals.

Next thing you know, Hawaii is going to be crowded. Come on, man. got away That's one place I have not been. Do I want to go to Hawaii? Shout outs to everybody in Hawaii.

I don't need angry emails from people in Hawaii. Do I want to go? I'm like, if I'm going to go that far, I'm going farther. And I have. I'm like, if I'm going to skip over, if I'm going if I'm going over the Pacific, I'm going real far.

Drop me back in Asia somewhere, right? Take me to Hong Kong. Drop me back there. Before it gets uh Let me relax while I start giving history lessons. Shout out to Hong Kong, beautiful place.

Anyway, it's the JR Sport Brief Show here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network. We're going to take a break. Of course, at the end of the show, we'll talk about a few things that took place this day in sports history. I'm going to tell you how Arch Manning This guy's he's making money in his sleep. Hasn't even thrown a pass yet this season, getting ready to take on Ohio State.

He's already making money. I'll explain. We'll talk about a few things in sports history, but right now, It's time for a news flash. He's money. It's Dexter Henry.

You're listening to the JR Sport Brief. It is the JR Sport Reshow here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network. That's some great information I'm going to share with you. About the black College football, Hall of Fame game. I'm going to get to that.

But right now, I need you to think O'Reilly Auto Parts. For all of your car care needs, get guaranteed low prices and excellent customer service from the professional parts people at. O'Reilly Auto Parts. Before I tell you about a few things that took place this day in sports history. Yeah, we've been through a lot all so long.

Rashi Rice's suspension and Joe Mixon's injury and Travis Hunter's now having a baby.

Well, he had a baby. He surprised everybody. He had a baby. We talked about Bill Belichick. Appreciating The fact that well Maybe he's with a gold digger.

He's trying to monetize it. And then we talked about Taylor Townsend. in that conversation that she had with uh Yelena Ostapenko.

Well, Astopeco had some uh words in response. That I want to share with you. Astapenko pretty much uh Taylor Townsend said she was yelled at, that she was Well, you know what? Bacha, do I need to give a description again? And there's even more to this.

There's more? Yeah, so but well Taylor Townsend is from America. It's from Chicago. Astapenko is from Latvia. Taylor Thompson beat her.

And let's just say they had a colorful conversation at the net. Taylor Townsend wants to go shake her hand. And then Ostapenco said something to her, and they went back and forth, and Astapenko started. You know, pointing at her in the chest and like finger pointing. And it was very, very vivid.

And in Taylor Townsend, you could hear her saying, I don't need to do anything. And then she walked away. The fans were cheering her on because she's the American. And she was hyping up the crowd, telling everybody, like, she needs to go home, go home, leave, get out of here. And the fans were booing Yelena Ostapenka off the court.

And this is what Taylor Townsend had to say on ESPN about their interaction. Listen. Yeah, I mean, you know, it's competition. People get upset when they lose. And you can't, some people say bad things.

She told me I have no class, I have no education, and to see what happens when we get outside the U.S.

So I'm looking forward to it. I mean, I beat her in Canada outside the U.S. I beat her in New York outside the U.S.

So let's see what else she has to say. But she was very heated. She obviously meant I beat her in the U.S. and New York, I beat her in Canada, I beat her anywhere. And so Yelena Ostapenko has responded.

On social media, of course. Just a small update about the match. Today after the match, I told my opponent that she was very disrespectful. And she had a net ball in a very deciding moment. and didn't say sorry.

But her answer was that she didn't have to say sorry. At all. There are some rules in tennis which most of the players follow, and it was the first time ever this happened to me on tour. If she plays in her homeland, it doesn't mean that she can behave and do whatever she wants. she continued on.

She says, Wow. How many messages I have received that I am a racist I was never racist in my life. and I respect all nations of people in the world. For me, it doesn't matter where you come from. There are some rules in tennis, and unfortunately, when the crowd is with you, you can't use it in a disrespectful way to your opponent.

Unfortunately for me, coming from such a small country, I don't have that huge support. and a chance to play in my homeland. I always love to play in the U.S. and U.S. Open, but this is the first time someone is approaching the match this disrespectful way.

Listen. I'm not going to sit here and tell you I'm some tennis pro about netball and Whether you say sorry or not. I just saw after the match. Like you lost. Go, just leave.

I just me. Like she's telling her after the l after did she congratulate her? Like the first thing she's telling her is Hey, you were being disrespectful. Like, lady, get off the court. That's just me.

Forget all this American this and American that, and I don't know Yelena Ostapenko from a hole in the wall. I could just tell you. If from a white woman standing up to a black woman on a tennis court, Just telling her. That she is now, you know, uneducated and is just like, whoa. And then she's pointing a finger at her.

I'm L from Latvia or not. You you may want to learn better.

Now. Taylor Townsend. has uh she actually just spoke again at a press conference, so I gotta wait to hear what she said. She was just speaking live minutes ago. And I'm pretty sure this will be big news throughout the course of tonight and tomorrow.

not just in the world of sports, but I'm sure the national and traditional news will pick up on this. As well. We have so much to do, a few things that took place this day in sports history, and then I promise Sell and everybody else. before we got out of here, we would hear Charles Barkley again. to be disrespectful to San Antonio, which is fun.

Anyway. Here's a few things that took place this day in sports history. Back in the days when I was young, I'm not a kid anymore. But some days I sit and wish I was a kid again. It's time for this day in sports history.

See, back in those days, we had radio and you couldn't see anything and it was primitive and lousy and we liked it. On the JR Sport Brief Show. I wish I was 50 years younger and I'd kick your ass. All right, here we go. In order to be disrespectful to San Antonio and understand why.

Arch Manning is making more money. We got to go quick. 1978, August 27th, Joe Morgan. He's the first guy to get 200 home runs and have 500 stolen bases. Listen to this biography.

These are great men. A fierce competitor renowned for his baseball smarts, Joe Morgan could single-handedly beat opposing teams with his multifaceted skills. an MVP award winner in both 1975 and 76, He was a terror on the base paths. topping the 40 steel plateau nine times during his career. His skilled batting eye enabled him to lead the National League in on-base percentage and walks four times each.

Morgan also packed considerable power into his compact frame, knocking out 268 home runs during his career. Morgan was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1990. God rest his soul. Can't believe he's gone. One of my favorite broadcasters of all time as well.

August 27, 1982, Ricky Henderson. He's like, I got. Stolen base 118. I got stolen base 119. I'm breaking Blue Brock's record.

Listen. A little deceptive move, quickly throws the first. But Henderson was already off and flying. The tag appears to be high on the rear end of Henderson. His arm sneaked in ahead of the tag.

Now keep in mind also that Derwood married nights ago. The tag applied high, his hand in ahead, ties the record at number 118 outstanding ovation for Ricky Henderson. Yeah. I didn't feel the tag, but I thought that if he made the tag, he made the tag in front of the bag and he hit me on the back. The biggest question was, was the umpire in position for us to call the play to see whether my hand hit the bag before he hit me on the back?

I think he was in front of the base that that would have made it look a little closer. Listen, Ricky Anderson, I'm surprised he didn't start every sentence by just saying Ricky. August 27, 1988, Tommy Lasorda, he won his 1,000th game. As the Dodgers beat Philly for the two. Tommy Lasauda, always a funny guy.

Listen to this commercial.

Sometimes after a big lunch, a day at the park is a little too much for Tommy Lasota.

So he reaches for relief. Role-Aids, an acid, for millions, nothing. Absolutely nothing. Works better for heartburn and acid indigestion. And why should Harker take the fun out of the game?

Get relief. You know how to spell it. Yeah, Tommy Lasorda was always looking out for you in your heart. Hey, 2015, Hussein Bolt. Not the Olympics, but the national championships, the world championships.

He won his fourth straight 200-meter title in Beijing. He did it in 19 and 55 seconds. This is Hussein Bolt talking about getting a job done. It's it's a big deal for me. I'm happy.

Uh that I did so well. I'm proud of myself and I'll continue striving for your greatness. For me it's great to be in Beijing the second time and to dominate again. For me it's just an honor so just giving thanks to the track. Yeah, the first time he did it, it's like 2008.

At the Olympics I got this.

Now it's courtesy of CTGN. TV. How about this? Another great Olympian Mom bows. She won her record eighth U.S.

Championship in San Jose. She did it. Two years ago, listen to this. I hit eight for eight. That was my expectations going into the night, so I'm very proud of myself of that.

Proud of WCC, how we kind of came out here and finished strong. But I have nothing else to say. Whatever y'all wanna ask. Every time I come out here, I feel like I'm in a fever dream and I feel like nothing's real. Like, I'm not feeding anything.

And I knew I did a good fluorotine.

So as soon as I got off and then I saw the score, I was like, damn, I need to see that routine because I wasn't sure. Like, every time I do something, I was like, they're like, you stuck every pass. I was like, I did, because I just like, I'm in the moment, but I'm also like, It just doesn't feel real for some reason. I just seriously Can't believe I'm out here competing again. I just really can't, so I'm proud of myself for that.

Listen, man, Simone Boss, we know she is the real. Deal. He has something that's a real deal. I need you to understand this: that drunk driving changed your world. It can really change your world and others.

Drive sober. Or get points. pulled over, paid for. by Netza. We got a big deal.

was staring in the face of the black college football hall of fame, Classic weekend in Canton. Virginia Union University, Miles College, is getting ready to go down in this year's class. Classic. And Dr. Alvin Parker, he's been the head football coach at Virginia Union since 2017.

He's led the Panthers to multiple CIAA championships and CAA Division II playoff appearances and earning recognition. As HBCU coach of The year. That's right, Virginia Union University is Is coming through with a big dog as its head coach. Drunk driving can change your world, drive sober, or get pulled over, paid for by NHTSA. Virginia Union Miles.

both nationally ranked in Division II entering this season. Each program won its league a year ago. Can't wait to see him get it on on august thirty first at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium. I told you about Arch Manning This guy has a glasses sponsorship. What a world.

He's now got a contract with Warby Parker because of how blind he was as a kid. And I told you we would hear from Charles Barkley again about the women in San Antonio. He says he's never going to say sorry. Listen to this. You know, I've heard from some complaints from the people of San Antonio.

Why would that be? Let me just say this. I heard they were talking about us on some stupid show called A Talk the other day. I don't know what that is. I heard that some idiot in San Antonio started a blog.

Let me just Listen, I'm just gonna have fun on TV. You know I'm joking. I say San Antonio got a great organization. They got the best point guard. They got the greatest power for it ever.

Some of you people don't like my sense of humor. is what I gotta say. Turn off your damn television. I'm not going to change. Uh if you don't like me or the show, turn it off.

And they want me to apologize. That's not gonna happen. What that's gonna happen? That's not gonna apologize for. Me joking about those big old women down in the center for the.

So, listen, y'all can write letters to your mama, your daddy, your uncle. I'm going to have fun on television. You know that I'm joking around, but if y'all are waiting on me to apologize, hell gonna freeze. What are you apologizing for? I'm coming.

There's no big old women down there. Let me change. Come on. I think we're out of town. Come on.

What did I eat? Oh, Chirro's. Chirro's on the house. Listen, I promised Cell that we'd get that clipping before we gotta leave. And now we gone.
