And then. Absolutely crazy. Hulk Hogan died? Like, what in the hell is this? I mean, he is seventy one.
did spend his life uh getting beat to a pulp physically, so uh w what a world it is. If you want to be a part of the show. You can. 888. 710.
4ISN is the number. That's 888-710. four I S N. You can also get a hold of me every and anywhere. on social media.
I am at JR Sport Brief. I am at JR Sport Brief. Everywhere. What a day Bacha, how are you on this uh Thursday, july twenty fourth? I I survived giving blood to the doctor, so that's a good thing.
Or what did you think? You were gonna just They're gonna suck you dry? What do you think was gonna happen? No, I've had so in the past, I've fainted as a kid once, and then I actually wanted to do the adult thing to donate in blood, and then almost fainted there too.
So they're like, No, no, no, we can't let you give blood here. What are you? Are you anemic? You got low blood sugar? I'm not anemic.
I'm just scared of needles, and the thought of it makes me paint. Oh, my God. And so you did not do this today to help out a fellow citizen. You did this today because it was necessary for your health. It was my annual, so I had to go in and give blood.
All right.
Well, if you ever need blood Drawn from you. I know a few different ways, and a few people that have beat it out of you.
So you just let me know in the future, okay?
Okay. You got it. You're welcome. I'm glad that you made it to work. I'm glad that you did not faint.
Did you alert management that you might be unavailable today? No. I was gonna pull through either way. Oh, if you fainted, what w how is that gonna work? I wake up.
Uh la Okay, I'm I'm just saying, bro, not everybody faints and wakes up, all right? Oh, that's a little dark.
Well, this is well, damn it. We had a guy. I can't believe this happened.
Well, I can believe this happened. And it is dark. It's unfortunate. Anytime, well. I don't know.
Every time somebody passes away a bad thing, I don't know. I'm being honest. But Hulk Hogan. He passed away earlier today. As I was uh being disappointed and another New York Jets injury to yet another New York Jets quarterback.
I'm like, okay, well, here we go again. And then all of a sudden, Here we went again. In the past few days. What is this? We got Ozzie Osborne, who passed away.
Now he can bite off all the bad heads that he wants. We had Malcolm Jamal Warner pass away. Theo from the Cosby show he passed. And then you get this news earlier today. Listen to this from CBS Sports HQ.
And breaking news into CBS Sports HQ, where wrestling legend Hulk Hogan has died at the age of 71. He started a whirlwind of a career often credited with lifting pro wrestling into mainstream pop culture. His theatrical style in the ring spawned millions of fans in what became known as Hulkamania in the 80s and 90s.
Now, his life was not without controversy, was involved in scandals involving racist comments caught on tape, as well as a high-profile lawsuit over a sex tape. But in the ring, he was a 12-time champion at a Hall of Famer. His charisma in the wrestling ring also caught Hollywood's attention, appeared in several mainstream films, most often as versions of just himself because it was enough, most notably in Rocky III. Hulk Hogan was 71 years old. Yeah, Thunderlips.
That's what he was. I mean Hulk Hogan I it's crazy to say it. Hulk Hogan was In American pop culture Icon. I've heard a lot of things all day about Hulk Hogan, and you're like, oh, probably is, and maybe he was. No.
Hulk Hogan, was a pop culture. Icon. And regardless of how you feel about professional wrestling or sports entertainment as coined by Vincent Kennedy McMahon, who's in trouble because of all the nasty things he did, but I digress. Like Hulk Hogan was at that intersection of sports. and entertainment.
Like Hulk Hogan, uh Thunderlips helped take him to another level. In Rocky, being in a boxing ring with Sylvester Stallone, a Hulk Hogan. Iconic For helping to bridge together one of the early sports entertainers, literally. Between music and entertainment. Rock and wrestling.
Cindy Lauper. Shoutouts to Dave. Yeah. There's so much that he did. Hanging out with Mr.
T at WrestleMania, helping to lift wrestling to another degree. This is when people still didn't know whether it was real, is it fake? It was just. Entertaining. You walked into somebody's garage and Right next to a basketball, right next to a football.
There was like A a board game with Hulk Hogan's face on it. There was an action figure in somebody's room with Hulk Hogan. There were the wrestling buddies. The posters, the video games. This man ended up doing some TV and movies.
They were bad, by the way. It's bad. Botcha, you don't pro do you do you remember Hulk Hogan being a nanny? Do you remember any of that? Not that.
I remember him being in T and A, the secondary market. That's where I remember him from. What?
Well, when Hulk Hogan left WWE, he went to TNA, the rivalry company, and that's how I remember him as a kid. The guy from Rocky, Hokamania, and then I remember him. I don't remember him as a nanny.
Okay, okay. Never mind, Botcher. Yeah, that was uh As a kid, that was like That wasn't too far ago, Bacha, okay? The things I'm telling you about is from the 80s. This guy, Hulk Hogan, transcended and took wrestling to another level.
He made it popular. This guy was he he filled out the Pontiac Silver Dome More than the Detroit Lions were able to do when he wrestled Andre the Giant. This guy was out there just selling out stadiums and arenas. He was on NBC Saturday night. Hulk Hogan was a pop culture icon.
In the 80s. I'm not saying he's there. But we all know about some of those names, all right? You had a young Gretzky, you had a Magic in a bird But in a different space, and we saw Michael Jackson and Mike Tyson, late 80s, we saw all of this. but in a different space that kinda crossed every path, Runnin' around with a bald ass head and big muscles in yellow and red.
Was was Hulk Hogan. And then he would say these wild things about taking your vitamins and saying your prayers and all of this. Wild, listen to this. As he was getting ready to take on a steroided, well, they were all steroided, including Hulk Hogan. Listen to him just talk crazy.
about the ultimate warrior. When I faced the warrior, I saw no fear. I realized he's ready for battle. And as far as I'm concerned, WrestleMania could have went down tonight, man. They could have had a hundred Buster Douglases in there, and Hulkamania would have still run wild.
Ultimate Warrior, the ultimate challenge has been issued. And what are you gonna do when Hulkamania destroys you? All right, Hulk Hogan standing by, mean Gene with the ultimate warrior. Take it, Gene. Oh, come on, what is that?
Who talk like that in real life? Nobody? And nobody You'd only talk like that if you were getting ready to beat somebody up. In a scripted match in a ring And so Hulk Hogan, damn, he's just pop culture icon. I grew up on Hulk Hogan.
wasn't necessarily a fan of Hulk Hogan. I was waiting for him to just. Why is he still here? He's old. Why is he still here?
He looked fifty when he was thirty. Why is he still here? But he was here and then he got in trouble. He was doing steroids. And he was doing drugs and he had to go to trial.
And the guy that was a good guy started to look like a bad guy. And then he went to WCW, and then he turned into a real bad guy on television. It's like, oh my god, the guy that was telling the kids to Take their vitamins and say their prayers and respect their parents and talk to the Lord. is now spitting on people and spray painting them and hitting them with chairs. He was a good, bad guy.
And then it came to an end because nobody could. beat up people forever. even in a scripted sense. Then he went to places like TNA. And then he got into some big trouble.
Then Hulk Hogan became a little bad guy for real in real life. Hulk Hogan on sex tapes, what? Listen, the internet era screwed up the reality of Hulk Hogan. We saw and heard about Terry Bolia. Hulk Hogan with a sex tape?
What?
Excuse me? Yuck? Hulk Hogan admitted on an audio tape during a sex tape that. He was a little racist. What?
Help me out, Hulk Hogan. What's the difference between being a little racist and big racist? Saying nasty things about black people and his daughter, Yuck. Tried to fix his image. The WWE said, Oh no, this is the biggest name that helped set us up.
And the WWF, WWE said, We can't deal with this Hulk Hogan guy. And then they brought him back. More recently, Hulk Hogan is out here selling beer. Starting a Matt Wrestling promotion? Opening up restaurants.
He apparently got baptized. About a two years ago? He got a new wife after we saw the old wife. I remember watching Hogan knows best. What a life.
Tried to help his daughter's singing career. He collected Jordans. He's had about, I don't even know how many surgeries, about, it feels like 30 of them. And then this morning we learned that he uh He passed away at seventy one years old. Cardiac, Arrest, apparently.
We we don't know the details. That's what's been reported. Cultural icon. I watched uh uh Ric Flair Another wrestling icon. Say, What a good friend that Hulk Hogan was.
That ultimately They were buddies. Yeah, they might have been rivals on TV. They were friends. Ric Flair started to cry. Damn it, it's kind of crazy.
Ric Flair is still here. Hulk Hogan is gone. Ric Flair, noted alcoholic. Rick Flair, just recovering from skin cancer. Ric Flair literally almost died years ago.
He's still here, he's bionic. Hulk Hogan is gone. What a complicated. Legacy I can't say if the internet never came along, people would actually still like Hulk Hogan, but. Hey, modern technology can screw up and has screwed up many a lives.
And so there's no disputing. The legacy of Hulk Hogan as an entertainer. Whether it is rocky. thunder in paradise Whether he's on WWF, WWE, TNA, WCW, whether he's tag teaming with Dennis Rodman to beat up Jay Leno and Carl Malone. whether he's wearing black and white or whether he's wearing red and yellow.
Like the legacy of Hulk Hogan, damn. What a life And what a complicated life at the end. And everything about him will be remembered. Unfortunately for him, I I hope he was at peace with himself. Because the public perception towards the end I don't know if it was split, but let's just say it wasn't all positive.
as his career started out. and people hated him as a bad guy, but that was all acting. racist comments and and being divisive and saying nasty things about people. He was just selling beer now. He was at the Republican National Convention.
That rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. And the last time that he was public on television. Was on Netflix at WWE's raw debut at Netflix and. He got booed. This iconic wrestler, Who helps set up the the industry for what it is and uh The cross-section of all sports and entertainment and wrestling, and made it a pop culture thing, the guy who helped set that up and take it to another level.
He got booed. as it's it's reached its apex. Hulk Hogan, I told you about all his business ventures. He was just selling beer. Real American beer, I think it's called.
And he came out and the crowd booed him. I think it's a combination of everything I just mentioned. Listen to this from January. What up? Let me tell you something, brother.
You know something, maniacs? I've been in this business for over 40 years, and the greatest part The greatest part of my life was being part of this great WWE, guys. I've had all kind of tag team partners over the years, but you, the fans, have been my greatest tag team partner because you guys have stuck with me through thick and thin, dudes. Yeah, what what a way. That's how that's how complicated life could be at at some times.
This is the biggest star. that helped catapult Wrestling, sports entertainment, whatever the heck you want to call it, to where it is today. And in his last appearance publicly in a massive setting like that in Los Angeles, he got booed. Like sometimes you make your bed, you got to lie down in it. I have never met.
Hulk Hogan in my life. Surprisingly, I've met a lot of people. I've never met Hulk Hogan, never spoke to him. My cousin met Hulk Hogan. This is pretty funny.
Hulk Hogan, when he was selling uh music, his daughter's music. My cousin, who's a record executive, had met him. He's like, Hey, I met Hulk Hogan. He how was he? He was cool.
But for everything that was cool There was there was some nasty there. And hopefully, wherever he is, whatever he's doing, Hulk Hogan has found himself.
Some peace. What a life. The entertainment world. would be different. If we did not have a Hulk Hogan.
For the good? In the bat of the man for the Hulk Hogan. and the Tarry. Balea Hulk Hogan gone at 71. years old.
It's the JR Sport Brief Show here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network. 888-710-4ISN is the number. That's 888-710-47. I told you there's more that happened today. Justin Fields dislocates his toe.
Bill Belichick. We're going to see how grumpy he was today at ACC Media Day. James Cook of the Buffalo Bills, he's grumpy. He wants some money. Cam Newton, every time he goes viral, he's kind of grumpy.
Looks like he's mad at Ryan Clark and Jalen Hurts. Von Miller ready to sack people? We got a kid who got sacked potentially out of a Little League World Series. He's now eligible to play. And of course at the end of the show.
We'll talk about a few things that took place this day in sports history. We got a lot to get into. You're listening to the JR Sport Brief. It is. The JR Sport Brief Show. Here I love this song. On the Infiniti Sports Network.
Yeah, I could I could just sit here and listen to this, but that's not what I'm going to do. Eight and eight. 710. For ISN. That's 888-710.
four I S N Hey, we open up the show talking about The passing of of Hulk Hogan at seventy one years old. What a complicated fellow he is. We won't hear the end of him. We're going to be hearing about Hulk Hogan for weeks and pretty much forever. Don't get thinking that that's going to go away.
And then there's so much else that's going on today. Like, even before I told you I learned about the passing of Hulk Hogan at 71. This guy didn't pass away, thank God. But he got hurt on the football field today. I'm like, what are you?
Are you kidding me? I saw the alert. I'm like, are you kidding me? Justin Fields goes down. And what, like day two of training camp with the New York Jets?
When the first report came out, it's just like, oh, well You know, Justin Fields had to be cartered off the field. And you're like, you got to be kidding me. And you can only speculate but so many things have like lower leg. Uh oh, is it his knee? Is it lower than that?
Is it his Achilles? Is it his foot? What's going on? They had to cart him off. He couldn't walk.
But then he walked a little bit inside. I'm like, Oh, here we go. The New York Jets. It was sad. I remember hearing this.
This was from ESPN. This was Mike Greenberg. Who's a New York Jets fan? I unfortunately like the New York Jets.
Sometimes I root for their pain because it's hilarious. But anyway, Mike Greenberg, also a fan of the New York Jets. He was on T V when when he learned the guy got hurt. Listen to this man's pain. I am speechless.
I don't know how to put into words how frustrating I am. or frustrated I am to read to you what I'm about to read to you. from New York Jets training camp. Quarterback Justin Fields has been carted off the field and taken to the locker room after being pressured on an incomplete pass. He has an apparent leg injury.
He walked on his own power after getting back inside the facility. Our Jets reporter Rich Semini is on the ground at Jets camp. He tweeted out a significant update: quote, Fields limps off the field after being pressured on an incomplete pass under the tent with a trainer. Adam Schefter is also saying Fields is now being carted off to the locker room. The tone of all of the tweets that I am seeing from the people who are there make it sound like this is something.
Bad. And I turn to others to speak on my behalf because, quite candidly, if I were to speak right now, I don't know how well that would go for anyone. It is the first freaking day of practice, and Justin Fields, they're not even in pads, and Justin Fields is being carted off the field. As I have been touting all this time, this is going to go so well. The Jets are so much better than everybody thinks they're going to be.
And all of a sudden, Justin Fields is being carted off the field at a practice. Who are you talking to over there? Kmart, get on the phone and find out what's happening. Yeah. Hey, here's a here's an update.
Dislocated so day to day. Like that's good news. I hope my Greenberg hey Mike, I hope your blood pressure went down. I understand the history of the New York Jets. I unfortunately feel your pain.
I remember expecting a Super Bowl run one year and My old man Vinny Testa Verdi. His Achilles blew out. Oh. I remember it looked good with Chad Pennington and then Chad Pennington.
Well, That shoulder, well, whatever was left of it blew out. I could talk about all types of pain with the New York Jets. Un uh not related to injury, like butt fumbles. Yeah. Just sad, sad things.
Do I even have to tell you about Aaron Rodgers? You remember that one. That was two years ago. Guy runs out onto the field. Grand opening.
Grand closing. And if, well, Justin Fields is day to day. Thank God. New York Jets just gave him a two-year forty million dollar deal. He's trying to revive and resuscitate his career after Ending up in being drafted by the Bears, who traded up for him from the New York Giants.
And he goes to Pittsburgh. He has a decent start, and then he gets sat down for Russell Wilson. We never see him again. And now he's getting another chance with the Jets. gets to throw the ball to his old Ohio State teammate in Garrett Wilson.
And thank God, It's only a dislocated toe. The head coach of the New York Jets, Aaron Glenn, first-year head coach, after being the defensive coordinator for the Detroit Lions. This what Aaron Glenn had to say about the injury at practice. Justin went down with toy in the right side of uh his foot. Listen, I don't know the severity of the injury, but I do know it's a toe on his right side.
And. Listen, we have an outstanding backup in Tyrod who's been in this league for around 14 years.
So the leadership that he brings. Listen, we're we're we're all good. Nobody wants to see Tyrod Taylor. Nobody. Good luck to the New York Jets.
It's July. You want him to get those reps in with the new receivers and everybody he's working with on his new team. You want that. But thank God Justin Fields is day-to-day. Thank God he didn't pop or tear an Achilles.
Thank God he didn't tear a ligament. Thank God he only dissolved. That's out. I've never dislocated at all. I've stopped one here and there.
Has it been a while? I might be due. You snap that sucker back in and Hope for the best. Good for Justin Fields. At least the New York Jets for once, I guess.
They catch a positive break. A positive one. 888-710-4ISN. That's 888-710-4ISN. Hey, I consider it a success this year.
If the New York Jets Finished with like eight or nine wins. That'd be nice. They haven't made the playoffs in what, about 15 years? Pitiful. eight eight eight seven ten four I S N.
That's 888-710-4ISN. Mason is calling from San Diego. You're on the JR Sport Brief Show. What's up, Mason? The man, the legend at his JR.
What's happening, brother? How are you? Oh, I'm good, man. And you know what? It's a trip, man.
When Malcolm Jamal Warder had passed away, I remember my mom had told me this one when I was young, and she was and I I didn't really believe it, but she was like, you know, celebrities, they always die in threes. When he passed away, I was like thinking this week, like, oh man. Oh, what is this going to be like? Then bam, Ozzy dies. And then here right here, hearing this today about Hulk Hogan, all three of them have played a role in my life because we used to watch the Cosby.
I'm 57.
So I used to watch the Cosby show when I was younger, me and my brothers and stuff, and we used to love it because it showed black people like in a positive, you know, good times was cool, but it showed that now we're not all, it's not. Why he was a doctor, a lawyer, in a house. Yeah, yeah. It showed a positive light of us. You know what I mean?
Which is, yeah.
So, but and the episodes were awesome and stuff. Yeah, a and then Ozzie Uh, I play guitar. I still do. But there for about Wow, I even now, see even to this day, I still I still will play metal. But I got introduced to metal, heavy metal, because a whole boy of mine was like, when I was 16, I was hanging out with him and he was like, hey, listen to this.
And he played a song called Mr. Crowley. By Adi. And I was strung like, man, you can make the guitar do that? Oh.
Yeah, so I was following them. Is it yeah, yeah, yeah, I love them.
So rest in peace to Aussie too. But Hulk Hogan, man, I was all into the WrestleMania stuff. And Hulk Hogan, come on, I am a real American. All of that stuff. Yeah, and and even though uh I wasn't sure if it was fake, but I didn't care because the 40 lines were so awesome.
It was entertainment. Yeah, so it's been a sad week, man. It's pretty tough. It's been a sad week for people that are around 40 plus. Let's put it that way.
Okay, Mason. Yeah, there you go. Yeah, because that's my era. All three of them are that. That's my era.
Yeah. I'm not going to date myself, but I will agree with you, Mason.
Okay. Right on, J.R.P. Thank you. Thank you for calling from San Diego. Appreciate you.
Yeah, man. A bad week for people remembering the 80s. It was not a good one. Malcolm Jamor Warner and Izzy Osborne Hulk Hogan, damn I'm I'm gonna go home and stay in my house for a little while. Not really.
I'm gonna live my life. I'm still here, might as well. It's the J.R. Sport Reeshow here with you, coast to coast, on the Infinity Sports Network. 888-710-4ISN is the number.
You know, when Justin Fields went down and people didn't know exactly what happened, I saw some rumours on line about Who might have come in and replaced him? He's here in Atlanta, Georgia, and thank God Justin Fields is okay. Ain't gonna be no trade going on. But at least here in Atlanta people are talking about Kirk Cousins. And then the quarterback who actually replaced him.
For now, Michael Panks Jr. He started practicing today, and people were going wild over him and Kyle Pitts. And you know what? Let's talk about that. when we come back on the other side of the break.
We'll hear from Bill Belichick at the top of the hour as he spoke at ACC Media Day. Yeah, there's been so much going on in the world of sports and entertainment today. You know what? To give us an update on everything going on. It's time for a news flash here on the Infinity Sports Network.
It's Rich Ackerman. Hey, it's Morgan Absher, and I'm Kaylin Moore. And we're the host of the Crime House original podcast, Clues. Every Wednesday, we sneak past the crime scene tape and open a new case file for some of the most gripping true crime cases. Follow and listen to Clues, an Odyssey podcast in partnership with Crimehouse, available now on the free Odyssey app and wherever you get your podcasts.

Not tomorrow, today. If you can't go today, go tomorrow and then the day after that. But today, ask. Figure that part out. Ain't it eight?
710-4ISN. That's 888-710-48. for ISN. We just talked about uh Justin Fields. Gave the New York Jets and their fans a A heart attack earlier today.
Like lower leg injury had to be cartered off the field. You're like, oh my god. Oh, it's only a dislocated top. Fine. You snap that sucker back in Now he's day to day, which is good.
But while there was so much uncertainty surrounding, What could be going on with Justin Fields? Of course the jokes were flowing on the Internet. Atlanta and New York, th that's those are my homes. I saw all this stuff going back and forth on social media. People here in Atlanta were just like, up, send Kirk Cousins to the Jets.
Send the Jets. Call Kirk Cousins. Get him in. Get him in. And I'm going like, oh God, for what?
For what?
So the New York Jets could bring in another quarterback with a. A blown out Achilles. How did that work out for the last guy? It didn't work out. Didn't work out.
And then we found out that Justin Fields only has a dislocated toe. But outside of all the Kirk Cousins stock, who is uh well He's still a falcon. He stole a ridiculously uh highly paid backup. Still sitting on a four-year, $180 million contract to do nothing must be nice. Arthur Blank needs to give me some of that money.
The heck is wrong with him? Watch it in that kind of now that I think about it. You can pay a guy that much to just just be a backup, what? Yeah, that's how sports usually goes. You know the best backup.
Not that much money. No, no. Who gets paid who gets paid that much money to be a backup? Uh not many people. Not no not not many people.
Nobody. Nobody. Arthur Blank is so generous. I was on Arthur Blank M Drive a couple days ago. What a world we live in.
Bachelor, let me tell you something. If you go to Mercedes-Benz Stadium here in Atlanta, There's a street. It's called North Side Drive. You make a left. You go to The football stadium, the home of the Falcons.
It's right there. You make a right. You go to Clark Atlanta University. There's a bunch of colleges and schools. The street that separates them.
Well, you make a left. It's called Arthur M. Blank Drive. If you make a right It is Martin Luther King.
Okay, I'm like, what world am I living in? I know it's called being a billionaire. It's selling lots of wood. Shout outs to Mr. Home Depot, Arthur M.
Blank. What a wor a yeet. He has so much money, he has a street adjacent.
So Martin Luther King, how about that? Did he pay for the street or was it like a donation for philanthropy? You think he paid for did he pay for which street? Which one? Yeah, yeah.
Of course, of course. He has a children's hospital named after him here. You know why they named the hospital after him? Donations? Yeah, 'cause he paid for it to be built, yes.
This man has sold so much wood out of a giant warehouse. that he has hospitals and stadiums, In streets. Yeah, that's a lot of money, botcha, when you getting your name on the street. Uh is there any uh real competitors to Home Depot besides Lowe's? I gotta give my name in the business.
Is there Lowe's Home Depot? Let's think of another one. Come on, it has to be another one. For just like construction? Oh, come on.
Come on, it has to be one more. We can do come on, we can think of one. Ace, Ace hardware. Yeah, but that's not. That's yeah.
Too small? Yeah, too small. Oh. Oh oh wow. Yeah, no no hope for you then.
You can sell something else. We'll figure it out. Can't wait to drive down Bacha Drive. Is that what it'd be called? I guess so.
Like botch or sh nah, that doesn't run. Botcher Street? That doesn't work. Avenue? No.
Botcher Avenue? Lane? No. Botcher Lane? I like Botcher Lane.
That works. Yeah, botcholane, all right.
Well, I'm pretty sure I could find an alley and throw your name on it, so. I'll get to working on that for you. Where do you want it? Chinatown in New York? Anywhere.
Off of Houston Street? Anywhere works. Anywhere that can just see my name and be blessed with that is amazing. Do there has to be a botch or something in America somewhere, right? Uh I think the most famous botcher right now is the college football player for Oregon.
And or he's a two-way player, so yeah, it's him. I ain't asking about no athlete, there has to be a street with your name on it somewhere, right? Oh, I got to look it up. I've never actually looked this up before. I bet you it is.
I'm going to guess it is in. Idaho, okay? Idaho. Got one in Australia. Bacher Street is in Australia.
Yep. There's not one in America nowhere. All the 500 million trillion streets in America, no botcher street.
Okay. I'll find one. Anyway, I don't think there's a botcha street here in Atlanta. There is an Arthur M. Blank Drive, there's a Martin Luther King Drive.
And I don't know. Maybe if this young quarterback is worth something over the next several years, maybe there'll be a. A pennix dry Because now that the Falcons started throwing around the football. It was funny to me today. That people were talking on social media, everybody who was at practice.
Everybody was like, oh my God. Kyle Pitts is just being, he's destroying everybody. Kyle Pitts is just ripping everybody to shreds. You had the same Kyle Pitts who's been around for four years. As big as a basketball player.
Has ten total touchdowns. The same Kyle Pitts who last year only hauled in 602 yards and four touchdowns. And yes, he's had some crap quarterbacks throwing him the ball. Man, I've gone to some games and I've said, man, I need to go out on the field. I could probably pitch him the ball.
Better than some of these guys. Ritter, what what are we doing here? Anyway. Everybody's so hyped. I'm like, hey, it's July.
You're getting hyped up about Kyle Pitts. He is basically on his last leg. If he doesn't perform and show up, Man, they're ready to run him out of town. Come on now Michael Pennix. He talked about getting Kyle Pitts the ball.
Even he was excited. I can't beat a ball today. Yeah. Gonna be a lot of that. Yeah, see, I I when I when I heard him say that, I'm like, oh, he really did?
Everybody was glowing about it on social media. He doesn't get off the line. Oh, but nobody's there to give him the ball. Oh, my God. He has all these other guys.
How is he not better? B. John Robinson, one of the best backs here in the South, NFC South. We got Drake London. Kyle Pitch should be goin' out there doin' some work.
Let's just say Penix is also hyped about the entire offense. The potential. We should be the best in the league. You know, with the guys we got around us, you know, we got a great officer line as well. You know, those guys work extremely hard in the trenches.
You know, with Coach Lefford out out there leading those guys, doing a great job with those guys. You know, we should be unstoppable.
So that that's that's our goal. We want to be number one in all the categories on on the officer side of the ball. Oh boy, I've heard that one before. It's July. One interception, two interception, three interception, four.
All of that changes in just the snap of a finger. People will be yelling. And it'll be funny if it happens. People will be yelling for Kirk Cousins to come back. If Pennix doesn't get the job done, I think he'll be fine.
Speaking of injuries, we talked about Justin Fields and his dislocated toe. We know Michael Pennix has dealt with his share of injuries. especially to his shoulders dating back to college. His shoulders, his knees. And so there's there's no guarantee here.
that he makes it through an entire season. We very well might see. Kirk Cousins back out there. But the guy that everybody was hyped about today was Kyle Pitts even head coach. Raheem Morris had some uh positive yet tempered words about this uh career disappointing tight end out of Florida.
You know, I think Kyle has been a talking point for all of us, right? Everybody is trying to duplicate his rookie season. You know, everybody wants to duplicate his rookie season. Everybody wants to do all those things. But I think Kyle's got to go out and be the best version of himself.
And I think the way he's going to do that is what we've been doing the last couple of weeks, working with Michael Pendix, having the ability to go out there and find a plan for him to operate an individual, have a plan for him to operate in team, what we want to do, and what can we get the best version of him. And I think those are the things that we're working on right now. Come on, man. Falcons got to go to the playoffs. They have to go to the playoffs.
Unless one of the quarterbacks or both of them is throwing the ball away like Kirk Cousins did last year. There should be no excuse While they are not right there, with the Buccaneers. There may be a slight expectation for the Carolina Panthers to perform slightly better with their new offense and weapons. set of Roar Macmillan out there and Liguette him in his second year should be fun. There should be no reason why the Falcons aren't pushing for a playoff spot.
To be a little bit more consistent. Because last year The past couple of seasons, damn it, almost every season since they decided to go after Deshaun Watson. angered Matt Ryan. They have been looking for a quarterback. The Falcons have been looking for a quarterback so damn bad That the Atlanta Falcons said, you know what?
Screw this. We're just gonna get to. We're going to give Kirk Cousins a lot of money. And if he sucks. We just goin' draft one, and who cares if it upsets him?
Atlanta Falcons unconventional just handing out money to backups. How can I be third string? How can I hold the ball can I hold the ball? Maybe Arthur Blank'll pay me to just hold the ball. And what a world It's the JR Sport Reeshow here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network.
888-710-4ISN is the number. That's 888-710-4ISN. Yeah, Arthur Blank will pay anybody. Except for me. I remember he even wanted to pay at one point Bill Belichick.
Remember that? It's like Bill Belichick coming to the Falcons? Ultimately it didn't happen. We see where Bill Balachek is. He's at North Carolina.
I guess he's coaching a football team. Either that or he's hanging out with his girlfriend. One of the two. I don't know. Life is about balance.
Maybe he can do both. Anyway, we'll talk about Bill Belichick on the other side. He spoke to the media today. ACC Media Day. I'm sure he'd rather be at NFL training camp.
