It is! The JR Sport Brief Show on the Infinity Sports Network. I'm coming to you live from Atlanta, Georgia. Thank you to everybody for being locked in all over North America. My friends in Canada. My friends here in Georgia. People in New York with our producer Ryan Botcher.

People hanging out in California. People in Salt Lake City, Utah. The new home of Ace Bailey. Dallas, Texas. But they got their hands on Cooper Flag.

Hey, how about this? Philadelphia, VJ Edgecombe. You'll have some nice dunks out there in Philly. Man, shut up to everybody.

It don't matter where you at. Thank you for being here. The show gets started every weekday at 6 p.m. Eastern, 3 Pacific. We've had a show. We talked about the NBA draft.

We had a great chat. Thank you so much with Ben Anderson from KSL Sports in Kansas. It's Kansas City. Listen to me.

Salt Lake City, Utah. To talk about Ace Bailey. Hey, we talked about Justin Tucker. He's not on an NFL team. The Ravens said, uh, we don't want you here.

We're gonna cut you. He's been suspended for 10 games by the NFL. Deionze Johnson explained why he decided to quit on the Ravens because it was too cold outside. He wasn't warm. What type of NFL player are you? A loser.

And then, speaking of people who never know what they want to do. We got a report about Kevin Durant and his future. No, he hasn't requested a trade from Houston. Not yet.

Not at all. Hey, we're getting ready for night two of the NBA draft in Brooklyn, New York. And the team that plays in the arena, only God knows what they're doing.

There's a million picks that the Nets have taken. Anyway, we got so much more to get into. Next hour, we'll have a chat. I want to share with you a chat that I had with the president of Rock Nation Sports, Michael Yermark. We'll talk about a few things that took place this day in sports history. The NHL is looking at expansion.

Damn, more NHL? I'll tell you about what's going on. Anyway, if you want to be a part of the show, you can do that. Here's the phone number. 888-710-4ISN.

That's 888-710-4ISN. Unlike Deontay Johnson, I showed up for work. And I'm still here. I didn't quit midway through the show. At all.

Anyway, as we continue on. Damn, that's a lot of... I told you about Deontay Johnson. This man played for the Panthers, the Ravens, and the Texans in one calendar year.

Now you know there's something wrong with you. You should not be an NFL player. Somebody who's a reputable player. A respectable player. Playing for three different teams.

There's something wrong with you. Now if you're a journeyman and you're going off of somebody's practice squad and you're just trying to stick in the league, I totally understand it. But if you got a name and you're bouncing around, you got issues. Now, the guy I'm going to tell you about right now, I'm not going to put him in that same space, but it's Kevin Durant. I don't think Kevin Durant has issues. I think Kevin Durant in the past has been very sensitive to what's been said about him online, which is why he had burner accounts on social media. I think Kevin Durant is a nice guy. Haven't seen Kevin Durant in years. But when I have spoken to him, very nice, very warm, very calm, very open, very chill, relaxed.

It comes across that way. His temperament when you watch him or hear him, he's just very relaxed. The man wants to go out there, play basketball, and go about his damn day.

Now his choices and where and how he's going about doing that leaves quite a bit to be desired. We know the history of Kevin Durant. One of the greatest scores, one of the most unique scores the NBA has ever seen. The man is seven feet tall and moves like a shooting guard. I've never seen somebody so big be so fluid.

You're not supposed to move like that. Kevin Durant is about to be 37 years old this past season. For the Phoenix Suns, the team that he wanted to go to, Kevin Durant dropped 26, 27 points, six rebounds and four assists. This guy has 30,000 career points. He's a 15 time All-Star. He's a four time Olympic gold medalist.

Damn it, he went back out there and helped the USA win another gold last year. We're talking about a two time champ, a two time finals MVP, four time scoring champ, a rookie of the year when he was still in Seattle. Kevin Durant is badass. I watched Kevin Durant play at Rucker Park in Harlem. I watched Kevin Durant play up in the Bronx, New York at Gaucho's gym. Watching this guy that close and personal is ridiculous. You just appreciate the talent even more. He's automatic. Easy.

I've seen this easy money sniper here in Atlanta, Georgia, playing at State Farm. So whether it's a small gym or a big arena. He was made to play basketball.

Coming out of the DMV. Now, the criticism comes for all the places that he's played. Not his fault that the team, the Supersonics, were being moved to Oklahoma City. It is his fault that he decided, hey, I'm not doing this anymore. OK, see, I'm going to Golden State. He did then decide to go from Golden State due to his issues with Draymond and probably not feeling appreciated.

He decided, man, I'm out of here. I'm going to Brooklyn to go play with Kyrie. Little did he or we know that coming off of his own blown out Achilles due to a calf strain, that ultimately Kyrie would lose his mind during covid and start saying wild things. Little did he also know that being joined by James Hart and barely playing with both of them was not going to work. At that point in time, as the ship was sinking, Kevin Durant tried to leave. Brooklyn was told, hell, no, ultimately asked again and was shipped to the Phoenix Suns. Phoenix Suns were a disaster.

They had Bradley Beal, Kevin Durant, Devon Booker and me and you on the rest of the team. That was not going to work at all. And we know it didn't work. I think Kevin Durant would tell you it didn't work. He said, man, we sucked. When Kevin Durant first got to Phoenix, big, fancy press conference. Kevin Durant told everybody right out of the gate, if we do not win here in Phoenix.

This isn't this is a failure. I know it is always as pressure because I'm one of the best players ever played a game. So every time. So and so every time I step on the floor, people want to expect me to do great things in the team, I'm going to do great things. But I enjoy getting better as a player every day. I enjoy just waking up and getting to do this. So I don't ever say anything's a failure.

If I get if I'm healthy enough to play the game of basketball. Well, it was a failure. I like the confidence and he's not telling a lie. People don't like to hear people that are great at something.

Tell you that they're great. Yeah. We know he's one of the greatest players ever. He is. He's a freak. One of my favorite players to watch of all time. Him. I came a large one.

Love watching. I keep Kevin Durant, though. He's he's now in Houston.

His situation in Phoenix was a failure. And so now that he's been shipped off to the Houston Rockets, now that he's at the end of his career, we don't know how many more years that's going to be. Is Kevin Durant going to play past 40? Is he going to be out there, you know, coming off the bench, giving you, you know, 15 automatic? I have no idea.

We don't know. But the Houston Rockets, I do have some thoughts. I think they do need to add some depth. They need some more veterans, but it's a good mix. I mean, Thompson will do nothing but get better. Fred Van Vliet just got himself a contract extension.

I don't think this guy has hit a decline yet. Alperin Sangoon can certainly stand to continue to get better. You have Tari Easton. Jabari Smith is on the team. Reed Shepherd. Can hopefully go out there and get a few more buckets.

I just. Stephen Adams got a contract extension as well. Houston Rockets have a good team.

Let's see how they round things out. And according to Shams, Kevin Durant, who has gone from Seattle slash O.K.C. to Golden State to Brooklyn. Going from Brooklyn to Phoenix, from Phoenix to Houston. Shams Sharania was on ESPN and he said this is the last place that Kevin Durant wants to be.

Listen, excited. The goal right now for Kevin Durant and the Rockets is for him to retire in Houston. They're going to eventually this offseason discuss the contract extension, figure out where that lands. But throughout the process, it became the finalists between Miami and Houston. But the Rockets really excited Kevin Durant. I'm told players like Alperin Sangoon, Amen Thompson, Tari Easton, Jabari Smith, Reed Shepherd. I think Kevin Durant really views himself here.

It's a perfect fit in a lot of ways. We know he's a number one. He can be the number one option on any given night. The Rockets made this move. It's a win now trajectory type of move. Yeah, they got they got a win now.

They do. Kevin Durant, you want to talk about retiring potentially with the Houston Rockets? Kevin Durant is entering into the final year of the contract that he signed with the Brooklyn Nets. Fifty four million dollars for this upcoming season. Kevin Durant is eligible given his age because you can't sign some guy who's about to be 37 to a four or five year deal.

You can't do that anymore. You can get a two year contract extension paying him about 60 million dollars per year. Must be nice to be close to retirement and get a whole hell of a lot more money as your production may actually.

Decline. It sounds nice to think about Kevin Durant finishing his career in Houston. I just don't think he's he's going to be done after two years.

And I also believe that the Western Conference is so competitive. If things don't work out with a championship or they're not competitive, I wouldn't be surprised if Houston decided to move him again. And so this idea of him, everybody want him to finish his career in Houston. It looks and sounds nice, but only Kevin Durant really knows how much longer he's going to play. I could see him in one more uniform before it's all said and done. And I don't know if that's going to be another two years or three years. He's going to be 40.

I have no idea. We think about Russell Westbrook, who just opted out of his contract with the Denver Nuggets. And yet he might return back to Denver.

But damn, Russell has bounced around so much here that I have to go. He played for who now? Starting his career with the Thunder. Going to the Rockets, playing for the Wizards, being scapegoated with the Lakers, playing for the Clippers and then the Nuggets. And he might add one more team. There is nothing worse, but I guess it's all just a part of the game. Then having a superstar player, a legendary player. Have to just put on every jersey imaginable.

To complete the colors of the rainbow. People make fun of this when it comes down to Shaq. Looking at Shaquille O'Neal in the Boston Celtics uniform. Was revolting. He was just trying to get a ring.

OK. I talk about this all the time. Patrick Ewing in a magic jersey just made my eyes bleed. Akim Alajuwon with the Toronto Raptors with the extra elbow pads just made my heart sink. Nobody wants to see a veteran go down. Just kind of holding on for dear life. Not everybody gets that storybook ending. Not everybody gets the God bless his soul. The Kobe Bryant send off.

Just shoot everything. Steph Curry be shocked if he moves on. Nobody's going to be that or Tim Duncan. And damn it, Tom Brady. He had so much success. Him and Belichick couldn't stand each other. He left and found more success in Tampa. But even Tom Brady in that Tampa uniform looked weird.

Nothing lasts forever. And Kevin Durant want to finish his career in Houston. I will believe it when I see it. I mean, based on his history, history and sports in the NBA, I think it's more likely that he gets moved. Let's listen to him. Eventually we'll get the full press conference when he's introduced in Houston.

And it'll sound nice. This is what Durant said as to why he wanted to go to the Phoenix Suns. I always love playing here in Phoenix. The fans always show love to, you know, just good good basketball in general. They always cheer their fans on, but they show love to the opposing team as well. So I knew this would be a great place to play and a great place to continue to get better as a player.

You got somebody like Devin, Chris, Chris Paul and DeAndre Ayton, guys that work. And I wanted to be a part of that. So I'm excited I'm here. I'm looking forward to trying to add as much as I can to the group already. Like I said, they built, you know, themselves up and built the structure and the infrastructure for themselves already. And I'm looking forward to adding to it. Yeah.

You see how fast things can change. OK. The Suns suck.

And he's now a member of the Houston Rockets. Is he going to finish there? I doubt it. 8 8 8 7 10 for ISN.

That's 8 8 8 7 10 for ISN. Second round of the NBA draft. Getting ready to rock and roll. Hopefully this doesn't take another three hours. We're going to take a break when we come back. We'll talk about we'll talk about the team hosting the draft, at least last night they did in the Brooklyn Nets. Talk about the Sixers. Speaking of guys who can't stay healthy, let's take a look at what the heck is going on with the Sixers and the Celtics. And then I want to get our producer, Ryan Botcher, I'm going to get his thoughts on Kevin Durant ending his career in Houston.

Is it going to happen or is he going to bounce around to another team? We'll get into it on the other side. You're locked into the J.R. sport re-show on the Infinity Sports Network. You're listening to the J.R. sport brief. It is the J.R. sport re-show here on the Infinity Sports Network. 8 8 8 7 10 for ISN.

That's 8 8 8 7 10 for ISN. Round two of the NBA draft is underway. Rashir Fleming from St. Joe's is now a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Phoenix Suns have stepped in to say that is our pick or excuse me, our pick. Now the Minnesota Timberwolves will be selecting at number 36 overall. And so the second round continues on now that the NBA has switched over into this different format. We got Mark Tatum, the deputy commissioner, who's pretty much leading the way here in the second round. First round. Yeah, you meet Adam Silver.

The second round. Yeah, meet Mark Tatum. Good for him. Anyway, right before we went to break, we talked about Kevin Durant. Whole report here about how Kevin Durant wants to finish his career with the Houston Rockets.

I say good luck and we'll see what happens there. Before we talk about the team that hosted the draft, the home arena, the team that plays in the home arena that hosted the draft last night, the Nets. Botcher, could you see Durant in one more uniform?

Oh, I definitely can. Whatever Kevin Durant says about, oh, I love your city. I want to retire here. Never take it for granted because there's always going to be a rift wherever he goes, whether it's with the ownership in GM in Brooklyn. The team wasn't good. And there's rumors that the locker room wasn't good in Phoenix. Something always happens with Kevin Durant teams that he needs to jump and find a better location. I don't think there's many more after Houston, though.

Wow. Even at this stage of his career now, he's running out of time. He'll sign an extension probably three years, four years, play it out. But I can see him moving teams again in the middle of that extension and then finishing that contract up. OK, well, he's limited now. He can't sign any more of these long term deals. So and I think also leads to why he might be moved, because if you're on a two year extension, you know, year after year, you're pretty much on a I'm here for one year and I can get moved the next.

We'll see what happens with Kevin Durant. Last night, the draft took place at the Barclays Center. And we know about what we talked about at Ace Bailey and everything that took place with the Cooper flag and whatnot. But the Brooklyn Nets had five first round selections in the draft, which was a record. And who and what did they take? A bunch of guys, OK, guys that many of us are probably not all that familiar with. They started out the gate. It was a highly touted prospect.

And then he started the fall over the past year. Igor Denim at number eight had a nice suit on. And then after that, they got a French point guard. Basha, do you even know how to say this guy's name? Traore? Have you seen the play? No.

There you go. They got Drake Powell hurting him in North Carolina. Ben Saraf from Israel. In Danny Wolf from Michigan. I don't I don't know what the hell they're doing. The Brooklyn Nets are just they're collecting Pokemon cards at this point.

I don't know. Still have Cam Thomas, who likes to shoot the ball every time he touches it. D'Angelo Russell is likely out the door. Why would he be sticking around?

They have no idea. Still have Cam Johnson, who is just he's good, but he is what he is at this point in time. Nick Claxton is what he is. That's like if I'm the Lakers, I'm like, give me Nick Claxton today.

Yeah, I don't know if he's gonna be healthy, but give me him. Just traded for Terrence Mann. Nothing exciting about that with the Brooklyn Nets. People are kind of flummoxed as to why the hell they utilized all five of their first round picks. They didn't find one guy that they wanted to move up to get.

I just I don't understand. Brian Windhorst. He was on ESPN and he talked about the the Nets historic all five first rounders. I got some people tell me some things about Brooklyn. People are making fun of these drafters. I mean, I got the fact that people saying to me, you know, executives and agents, they're like.

And I was watching them play three two way guys during this year so that they could clap for taking the guys. Wow. He's like, these two white guys might be just as good as the guys that they're taking.

I don't know anything about it. I'm just saying what people are saying. Hey, we take five shots. One of them got to be right with you.

No, it's it's not good. Boncher, you're a Brooklyn Nets fan. This obviously didn't go the way that you hoped or expected it to. What are your hopes now going into the off season or free agency, I should say? I didn't think they could get worse than last year.

They did. And I don't know how much you can bottom out. But drafting four players that are ball dominant and three of them are point guards who can't shoot well are not really plus athletes.

It's very surprising. But now in the off season, the only thing we can do is probably trade Claxton. And to resign Cam Thomas and hope that they tank and get the number one pick next year. That's it. Yeah. We see how that that works out.

It doesn't always work out. I mean, now that the NBA has changed up the draft odds to pretty much prevent tanking. We know the first three teams selected or excuse me, the first three teams with the best odds in a draft lottery.

They share the odds at about 14 percent apiece. I mean, there was no expectation for the Dallas Mavericks to end up this year with the number one overall spot. And they did. I mean, we just had a whole conversation last hour with Ben Anderson, who covers the Jazz. He's just like, hey, everybody, we tried to tank and we ended up at number five overall. And so the Brooklyn Nets won twenty six games last year. You expect them to be worse with the players they just brought in and you're basically flushing out D'Angelo Russell, getting rid of some veterans that have been in the league for a couple of years, bringing in five rookies. I expect them to be a lot worse when you think about the history of the Brooklyn Nets.

We have Mikhail Prokoroff who came on and tried to make a big splash. And the Joe Johnsons and the Brook Lopez and the Dan Williams of the world and that didn't work. They basically set the Boston Celtics up to win a championship. Is there ever going to be a middle ground with this team? I mean, they have a new owner.

Size seems to be a much more patient. But the building, when's the last time you've been to a game? I won last year for the Vince Carter retirement ceremony.

So that's that's the only reason why. Oh, the Vince Carter. Why the hell did they retire that man's jersey?

Because he's one of the few memorable players from our franchise besides Jason Kidin. Oh, terrible. Let's just. Participation trophy. That man is.

That's when you know you. I can't blame him, but this is like them. I know you have nothing to celebrate when a guy was traded to your team and was there for a few years. And there's nothing memorable about Vince Carter being in New Jersey.

It had nothing to do with Brooklyn at all. Ain't even go there yet. Just whatever to sell tickets. Was the place sold out for that?

Probably not. It was sold out. Or if not, it was ticketed, sold out. So it was only so you you saw the building. Did it look sold out to you? It was about 95 percent full.

Oh, that's nice. Who did they play? They played the Heat. OK. Wow. OK. And that's the only reason why you went no other games. No other games this year.

In the past, I used to go used to go to like two or three. I could see that place sounding like I could be like church. It was it was based on church this year, even on Vince Carter night. It was dead quiet the entire second half. Besides for the few Heat fans that actually knew what was going on.

I think most of the fans were either just checked out or they didn't care about the game. You know, I don't I don't blame the Brooklyn Nets, Post, Kyrie and Durant and Harden. They don't have a star. They don't have a guy that you can look at and go, oh, my God, this guy's going to be a star. You have a lot of teams that are kind of listless. We talked about the Utah Jazz, but you can point to and identify the dudes who you think are going to grow on that team. The Brooklyn Nets from the minute that Kevin Durant said, I don't want to be here anymore. They didn't they didn't grab anybody. I mean, thinking about Cam Johnson and McHale Bridges is not that that's that's not a needle mover in that regard.

I feel bad. I mean, everybody knows that the New York Knicks are the team in New York. They have a history that certainly predates the Nets in the areas. And that's a bounce around from Long Island, Jersey, Brooklyn, what have you. But when you're in Brooklyn and people have so much more to do, much more residential. I know they've improved the downtown, but is nobody trying to go?

Nobody cares. The Brooklyn Nets might as well just be a high school event. I think I could probably find more juice for high school basketball. In Brooklyn is Lincoln, is Lincoln any good anymore? Is that over? I don't think so. OK. Do you remember Lincoln?

No, no, not really. You don't remember. We had I was on more of the Catholic side, so we had the upstate teams kind of destroying everybody with the champagne. Yeah, no, that's and that's like yesterday.

Lincoln rail splitters. It's like Stefan Marbury was out there all the way down to to Lance Stephenson. And those games had juice. I mean, they used to play the city championship games at Madison Square Garden and they got too expensive. And they took the game to Brooklyn. Those games seemingly had more juice than anything that the Brooklyn Nets are going to have. It's it's bad.

Hey, good luck. You're never going to change. You'll be a Nets fan forever, right? Nets for life.

Your demon is the next Luca Doncic in my mind. OK, maybe you never know. Who knows? Eight eight eight seven ten for ISN. That's eight eight eight seven ten for ISN.

A team had five first round picks and used every single one of them to do what? I have no idea. I guess the more the merrier they say. That's that's what they say. Ack, is that true?

Is that is that is that accurate? The more the merrier is that bad? You know, well, I guess it is. Or as somebody said, how how can you get too much of a good thing?

Ah, yeah. I don't know if you don't know how to. Good thing is going to end up.

I don't know. We'll see. Brooklyn Nets are certainly wild out here. Speaking of too much of a good thing, we're going to take a break when we come back. I want to talk to you about the NHL. Apparently, the NHL and their players association, they've come to an agreement to provide you with more hockey.

Yeah, I'm going to tell you what the heck, Deanna. Everybody wants more, more, more except for the NBA. Those guys want to play less, less, less. I'll explain on the other side of the break. It's the J.R. sport brief show on the Infinity Sports Network. It's time for a news flash with Rich Ackerman. You're listening to the J.R. sport brief. It is the J.R. sport brief show here with you coast to coast.

On the Infinity Sports Network. Yeah, don't be greedy. Shout outs to DMX. Anyway, last break we talked about another thing related to New York. The fact that the Brooklyn Nets decided to use all five of their first round picks yesterday. And all of them like one big old shrug. Unless somebody works out, I don't know, maybe that's the approach. You know, I don't know if you go out late at night, you talk to five different people, maybe you go one for five. Maybe that's the Brooklyn Nets approach.

I have no idea. None. The Brooklyn Nets feel that there is no such thing as too much of anything. So they said, hey, give us all five first round picks.

Since Kevin Durant decided to leave and Harden wanted to leave and Kyrie, well, they got him out of there. No stars. Mikel Bridges, Cam Johnson, they don't count. And now today, no stars.

None. Too much of a good thing. 888-710-4ISN. That's 888-710-4ISN.

Speaking of too much of a good thing, the NHL looks like that they're eventually going to give us some extra hockey in the regular season. We'll talk about that in a second. Let's talk to David. He's calling from Los Angeles. You're on the J.R. Sportbreeze show.

What's up, David? Hey, J.R., good evening. Thanks. Thanks for taking my call. Good to talk to you. No doubt about it. Likewise.

What's going on? All right. So I want to comment about Kevin Durant. I want to say I want to ask, is it fair, despite all his accomplishments? And we know Kevin Durant is going to go down as one of the most accomplished NBA players ever. Despite his accomplishments, there's still going to be an asterisk next to his career because of what he decided to do in order to win his two rings. He joined the super team in Golden State, a team that proved both before and after his presence that while they appreciated his contributions, they really didn't need him to win championships because they won one before him. They won one after him. And then, of course, after that, his career just fizzled as he started bouncing around all over the place because he never just seemed to feel at home anywhere.

No, I don't think so. I think I think his talent and an understanding of his talent will ultimately trump pretty much his decision to to go and play for multiple teams. I mean, we heard from Draymond Green. We actually played the audio.

We played the sound yesterday. Draymond Green said he's not so sure the Golden State Warriors would have won those two championships with Kevin Durant if he wasn't on the team that that came out of Draymond Green's own mouth. Now, Draymond Green might be one of the main reasons at the time as to why Kevin Durant decided that he wanted to exit Golden State and make his way to Brooklyn. But ultimately, I don't think he's going to have an asterisk next to his career. People look at what he's done. I think people see who he is. And this is kind of modern era for basketball. I mean, LeBron James, he went to Miami. Are people going to look at him crazy? I mean, he talked about there being ring culture and, you know, you don't have a ring, you don't have this.

And look, it doesn't matter what a lot of the modern players do, they're going to be criticized. I don't think there's anything extra that we need to kind of point next to their names. Fair, fair.

I'm just asking. Thank you. Thank you for your call.

Thank you, David, for calling from L.A. The modern players are just damned if they do and they're damned if they don't. Like this is the first era of player. For the past 20 years, and I'm going to put this into the LeBron James era.

When LeBron James first burst onto the scene. I would see highlights on ESPN. But I was able to track him more in the newspaper and by reading Web sites. On my cell phone.

OK, you'd have to go online. You'd have to read the newspaper or you'd have to watch television. The Internet wasn't developed all that much. Well, you're just going to get video like this is LeBron James career. His career has spanned from newspapers still really being in circulation, of which they are not wildly distributed anymore.

To just everything being in the palm of your hand. LeBron James is going from newspapers to social media. And so, of course, naturally, he's been criticized. He's been criticized more than any other human being playing basketball just because of the access. Now, whether or not these people have voices that matter or not, I don't want to say it's pretty much irrelevant. But there's a reason why we got professional athletes who can't pick up a phone.

Without feeling bad or feeling sad or feeling distracted or, you know, being worried, look, look at everybody on social media. Paul George's podcast. He doesn't have a podcast. He doesn't have a TV show while he's playing basketball. He has a podcast, something that he can control.

It's in the palm of your hand. And I felt like Michael Jordan did have his own TV show inside the NBA with Ahmad Rashad on Saturday mornings. But he did it. And could you imagine Charles Barkley and God bless him, he basically has his own show for the past 25 years here. Could you imagine Charles Barkley playing for the Phoenix Suns and doing a weekly television show about basketball?

No, but that's where we are right now. Social media. Everybody is so social in their phones, unable to be as social as human beings, personable. It's where we live. These athletes just get beat up.

Pick up the phone, get beat up. Whether it's justified or not. And what they accomplish, a lot of them is not appreciated to a certain degree.

And yeah, they have control over it. What did Kevin Durant ever do to anybody but defend himself on the Internet using a pseudonym? OK, a burner account. Nothing. Just went and played basketball, did what he wanted to do. And when he wanted to leave, he left and complained.

OK, I get it. Never bothered anybody. Never did anything wrong. The same thing for LeBron James. People beat up on LeBron James. Why? Because he had a comment about Daryl Morey in China.

Come on. What has he done wrong outside? We got Antonio Brown who's out here shooting at people. But yeah, he's not on that level of celebrity. But is he getting criticized the same type of way?

We live in a world where you open up the phone and people have different opinions. And congratulations, Janai Broom on his way to the Philadelphia 76ers. It'll it'll be a nice fit for him, given his his ability to play down low in the post. Not the most athletic gentleman in the world, but he can certainly fit in down low for the Philadelphia 76ers.

And speaking of the Sixers. Picked up Vijay Edgecombe. They got to two of the top players coming out of college. Edgecombe coming out of Baylor.

Janai next door from me coming out of Auburn. And speaking of Philly, Vijay Edgecombe says, I'm excited to take my athletic talents to the city of brotherly love. I don't have no words. It's just surreal.

They say I work hard and everything is paying off, but the work don't stop. I'm definitely looking forward to going to Philly, meeting the team, getting ready for Summer League, training camp, all that. So I'm focused on playing now. Yeah, he'll fit in. But we know more importantly, when it comes down to the 76ers, it's really about who the hell is healthy. Is Joel Embiid going to be healthy?

Is the guy I just told you that's been podcasting out here? Paul George going to be healthy? I think Maxie will be fine. He's young enough, doesn't have an extended injury history. This is what Daryl Morey, the GM, who's hoping everybody stays healthy, had to say about Joel Embiid.

Mr. Brokin. Spoke to Joel today. He's very engaged, attacking rehab, doing everything he can to be out there. He had a meeting with Dr. Glashow this week.

All things, to use the NASA term, nominal. All things are going well and expected and we expect that to continue. Ready for camp?

Yeah, I mean, things are on track to be ready right around there. When it comes to Joel Embiid, can it be worse than last year? I'm healthy. I'm not healthy. My knee hurts. My knee doesn't hurt.

I need surgery. Oh my God. He just, he was unbearable last year. And the thought that we're going to have anything different from Joel Embiid as he gets older is comical.

Comical. Good luck to the 76ers. And Daryl Morey is just swinging for the fences. Daryl Morey is going for broke.

I'm not going to trust that it works. If everything, and even John McCain got hurt. Look, the 6ers, they got a great team. The 6ers would be championship contenders if they're all healthy at the same damn time. And I don't know, at this point that just seems like a massive roll of the dice. Seems like a massive roll of the dice for pretty much every single team in the NBA.

Ball's down to health. Botcher, would you trust the Philadelphia 76ers next year? Not anymore. I do not trust that team.

Wouldn't touch them with a 10 foot pole. You said not anymore. When did that change? I thought they were actually going to be really good this year. And then Joel Embiid didn't play. Paul George fell off a cliff.

And then everybody else got hurt. So I'm not going to put my eggs in a basket for this team when they've not proven anything. I'm not doubling down on the 6ers. Well, Daryl Morey's thought process is, I gave Paul George a contract. Miller, Joel Embiid contract. Tyrese Maxey got a contract. Just drafted Chad McCain. Just got Vijay Edscombe. Just drafted Janai Broom.

They got a lot of talent. Daryl Morey is just hoping. Fingers crossed. Toes crossed. He is hoping that this team could stay healthy.

And the most important guy just overall is Joel Embiid. And asking him to stay healthy. And yeah, he'll tell you, oh, I play with a broken face. Oh, I play with a bad day.

Oh, I did this. Bruh. You actually got to like lose some weight. Get in shape. But you can't get in shape and lose weight. If you always hurt.

If you're not dedicated. I know he has a nice fancy chef. He must be sneaking in bonbons in between. I don't know what he's doing. But Joel Embiid, I do not trust that guy. He might make it through two rounds. With a busted hand, a busted face and a busted knee. He ain't lasting nothing.

He's a tough one. It's the J.R. Sportbree show here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network. 888-710-4ISN is the number.
