It is the JR Sport Brief show on the Infinity Sports Network. Coming to you live from Atlanta, Georgia. Thank you to everybody for being locked in all over North America. I hope you're safe. I hope you're amazing. Hope you're having a great Friday.

I'm going to be here with you for one more hour. This show gets started every weekday at 6 p.m. Eastern, 3 Pacific. Thank you to our producer in New York City, holding it down, Nick Theodoro.

I'm in Atlanta, Georgia, minding my business. We've had a fun show so far. Oh man, this is not, it's not fun in Indianapolis for the Pacers right now. They are losing 66 to 45. You know, all the Cavaliers are back and they are whooping up on that. Well, they beaten them up good.

Let's just go ahead and put it that way. We got another NBA game going on in an hour. This series is all tied up at one game a piece. The Oklahoma City Thunder, the Denver Nuggets. First game in Denver.

The series is tied one all the winner advances to the Western Conference Finals. Yeah, we got a lot to get into. We just talked about Abdul Carter. Finally found a jersey not named Lawrence Taylor's or number 56. Hey, we talked about Pat Riley. He spoke today. He says, man, I don't regret not giving Jimmy Butler a contract.

What do I look like? We heard from Draymond Green last night after his loss. Well, the warriors loss, the warriors losing.

I mean, they're going to lose more with no Steph Curry. Draymond said, I don't want to be known as the angry black man. Okay.

I don't know what being black has to do with anything. You just angry man. An angry dude. Omar Khan talked about getting rid of George Pickens. He gone. We talked about the Pope.

Congratulations. The Pope is from Chicago. He went to Villanova. The Pope is a fan of the Chicago White Sox.

The Pope loves a loser. Not not from the North Side. Yeah, we got more to get into. We talked about Bill Belichick. Got University of North Carolina putting out messages about his girlfriend, what she's allowed to do and not do.

It's just it's a wild world. We heard Nick Chubb is done in Cleveland and we got more to do just here in this hour before I got to shut up and leave. Of course, at the end of the show, we'll talk about a few things that took place this day in sports history. Today is May 9th.

It's been May 9th all damn day. And how about this? In our next break in about 20 minutes or so, we're going to have a chat with Tori Penso. It's Mother's Day weekend. OK. Your mom is still here.

Amazing. You show your mom some love. Did you make somebody a mother? Show that mother some love.

You got a sister or grandma. You got somebody, you know, somebody that's a mother. Show that mama some love. I love moms. I love the mothers.

OK. Anyway, Tori Penso is not only a mom. She is a referee for FIFA. She's a big deal. She's out here referee.

She's going to referee the Club World Cup next month. That's a big deal. You got to deal with all these pain and ass men whining and flopping and crying. He hit me. Imagine LeBron James times 20. Oh, forget LeBron. Imagine Luca. He's the ultimate complainer. Imagine him times 50. Imagine Luca and Draymond Green in one body.

Complaining. Oh my God, it'd be endless. Could you imagine if Luca and Draymond were on the same team? Like the referees would quit mid game.

You'd have to staple these guys mouths shut because they don't shut the hell up. But anyway, we'll have that conversation with Tori Penso in about 20 minutes from now. Looking forward to that. Club World Cup is coming up. Might as well get your mom some tickets if she likes soccer and get us some tickets. Get tickets for your kids and take mom.

Take the whole damn family. OK. A matter of fact, this is a good opportunity to let you know about the MLS game preview sponsored by Lowe's. Members get more with my Lowe's rewards. Don't wait. Join for free today.

Lowe's. We help you save into Miami. They're going to take on Minnesota this Saturday. Tomorrow at Alliance Field in St. Paul. A shout out to Minnesota.

Home of the Timberwolves. OK. The match is scheduled for 430 tomorrow on Apple TV.

Yeah, good luck. You got to pay for that Apple TV. I see Major League Baseball is going to be back on Roku this upcoming Sunday.

You got a free game on, I think, Sunday morning. Who the hell is looking for baseball on Roku? Now I know why ESPN said I'm ending my contract. Roku is paying 10 million dollars for this package and ESPN is paying like half a bill. Like make it make sense.

Anyway, Major League Baseball is just just nutty. 888-7-10-4-ISN. That's 888-7-10-4-ISN.

You know what? Just just call me up. You got a question. You got something on your mind, something on your heart. Go ahead and call me.

Phone lines open before we get to Tori Penso. And then I want to go through some of the things that you might have missed today in the world of sports. Thomas here from Colorado. You're on the J.R. Sportbreeze show.

What's up, Tom? Hey, J.R. You were talking about teams that are retiring way too many numbers. And why are they you know? Yeah, there's a lot of players that deserve to have their number retired. But the NFL has never retired a number across the board for any team. And it should be Pat Kilman, his number 40. OK, I know I know he died in service. Why so him specifically versus anybody else? Because he gave up millions and millions of dollars to make thousands of dollars. To support his country.

OK, this is more than honorable, and he unfortunately had to pay for it with his life. Exactly. OK. All right.

All right. I mean, if there's a number that needs a ball, I mean, Arizona Cardinals have retired his number. Well, he played in Arizona State, retired his number from college, which was 42. Yeah.

If there's a number that should be retired, you know, kind of like, you know, nobody in baseball can wear 42 from Jackie Robinson. Right. Right. You know, what more of a sacrifice can you give?

He gave I think he just signed like a twenty three million dollar contract back in the day. Yeah, well, I'm not I'm not and then walked away. I'm not disputing the honor and valor and what he did at all. I just I don't know if that if that impact is felt the same way all across the league.

Now, I'm not going to sit here and tell you that I've thought about numbers that should be retired league wide in any sport. But I don't I don't if that was going to happen, man, that would have happened. I think it would have had to have a wider, wider reach.

And I think, unfortunately, as you just said, it's more of a local reach than a national one. Well, yeah, well, that is what it is. Oh, he was a friend.

And I think it's anything. Well, thank you for sharing that perspective, Tom. I appreciate you. You know, I mean, I did. Yeah. And now you had these college kids. I think they can get Lawrence Taylor's number.

Please. No, no, no. But I don't even do something. I don't even think it's a college kid thing. I just think it's a youthful thing. And you know what? Let's not even call college kids think we got a lot of people who are running around who don't have the smallest idea of what preceded them. And it's not just a college kid thing.

It's just that we got a lot of people who don't take the time to look at what came before them. Oh, I know. I know.

You know, my kid thinks he knows everything in the world. And I'm like, yeah, no, that's not going to work yet. And he figures it out the hard way. But yeah, that's hey, that's life.

Some people got to some people got to figure things out the hard way. Tom, thank you for calling from Colorado, man. Appreciate you. All right, man. You have a good weekend. No doubt.

You too. Good luck to them Rockies. They suck.

So I'm Rockies are garbage, man. Where's where's where's Dante Bachett? Where's Larry Walker? Where's Todd Helton? Where's Hey, where's Mike Hampton? He's like one of the only guys that you could throw up there on the mound and get the job done. Okay.

pre humidor. All right. Colorado Rockies.

Oh, it's sad. Anyway, it is a bunch of things that took place today in sports. Where do we start?

Hey, how about this? Pat Riley spoke today. Talked about Jimmy Butler. Pat Riley was asked about that contract that he did not give him. Pat Riley said, Do I regret it? Hell no, I'm not apologizing for not paying that guy.

I would not pay him again. You know, it wasn't the same. He got hurt against Philadelphia. We didn't have in when we got four out of five against Boston. But and then there was this year. So no, I'm not going to apologize for saying no on the contract extension when we didn't have to. And I don't think I should. And and I will always say that the players if I was coaching, now keep your mouth shut.

I'll see you next training camp. And you get it back, you know, on the court, but it's different today with players. There'll be some people who will look at you and tell you all Pat Riley's old. Oh, Pat Riley is out of touch.

People are having arguments about that. You want to know what Pat Riley knows how to do? When he knows how to actually have standards. He knows how to not put up with some of this bull crap that people want to throw out there about.

I lost my joy because I'm thirty five and I'm always hurt and I'm complaining on social media and you didn't pay me and you hurt my feelings publicly when when when like Pat Riley's like, screw you. Like play like that's what we need more of. We need more action. And less yapping, less Twitter fingers and more plan like shut up. We need more people like Pat Riley. We need more of that, not less of it. We don't need no and these guys make so much money.

We don't need no executives kissing ass and looking to just butter up. Oh, yeah, you good. Everybody loves you. You're great. You're terrific. Doing a good job. Yeah, we'll pay you.

Just stay tuned, buddy. Like we need less of that crap. We need more Pat Riley.

Like, come on, as much as people don't. Well, people in Pittsburgh might be sick and tired of the Steelers being kind of status quo, might be tired of Mike Tomlin, a good portion of the fan base. Mike Tomlin, he's like, man, I ain't putting up with no George Pickens.

Stop it. Guy didn't show up to work on time and penalties. He said publicly he needs to grow up. You got George Pickens who's publicly acting like an ass when he put a microphone in front of him and he was enough. And so today, Omar Khan, the general manager, he spoke to the media and he talked about trading George Pickens away from the Pittsburgh Steelers to the Dallas Cowboys. The trade sort of happened quickly. You know, we had we had some people inquired during the draft, nothing that really made sense. And Cowboys reached out.

I don't really remember what day it was earlier this week. And, you know, they gave us they proposed something that for us to think about. And, you know, we had conversations internally. You know, also had some conversations with George's agent, Dave, who I have a good relationship with.

And, you know, we discussed where things, I guess, have been with George, where they are and, you know, where things could go with George. And, you know, this trade made sense for everyone. Trade made sense for everybody looking to get a little peace of mind, right? Mike's all in on a deal with that guy.

And George Pickens is now a problem for the Dallas Cowboys, not this year. He's going to be in his best behavior because he wants the contract. He wants the reward. He wants the cash. And then he's going to act like a child.

Not difficult. He'll act like an adult for one year. And then after that, he's going to put the training wheels right back on and act like an ass. Reminds me of what? Little rascals, I guess.

Just thinking of them cartoons where you got a bunch of kids on bikes and scooters just running through the neighborhood terrorizing. Just looks like George Pickens is right out the gate. Anyway, he's gone. He's Jerry Jones problem. Can't wait till Jerry Jones talks about George Pickens.

That will be tons of fun. Bill Belichick back in the news today. Not good reasons regarding North Carolina. I mean, there was an entire report from Pablo Torre.

He said, look, man, I've been talking to people around North Carolina and they've been telling me that they are sickest girlfriend. Two sources at the University of North Carolina tell me that there has been a decision was made last week by the higher ups inside the athletic department that had hired Bill Belichick to be the highest paid public employee, not just coach in the state of North Carolina at 10 million dollars a year. And that decision was that Jordan Hudson is no longer allowed in the football building. She is not allowed on the football field.

Don't think you'll be hearing much from Jordan moving forward. Ouch. OK. How about North Carolina? Just a couple hours after that came out earlier today, North Carolina put out a statement.

They basically said that's a lie. We let Bill Belichick's girlfriend come to the football facility whenever she wants, but she doesn't work for us. She works with Bill Belichick on his personal things. OK. Wow. Wow. Could you imagine your employer doing that? Could you imagine your and forget just sending messages out to the public?

It's a public university. Imagine your job sending an email to everybody that you work with, just like, hey, you know, Bob in accounting? Oh, yeah, not his girlfriend. She can come to work and sit in the office with him. Just keep in mind, she doesn't work here. She just can join him in the office. And, you know, she can bring him lunch every day and sit down and have lunch in his office. OK, don't worry about it, guys.

Everything is fine. Who sends dumbass emails like that? You got North Carolina hiring Bill Belichick and this stupid school has to tell everybody his girlfriend is allowed on the campus. Come on. Now, I'm not one for Lifetime movies. I don't think I've ever seen a Lifetime movie.

I've heard they're kind of interesting. Is Bill Belichick living in a Lifetime movie right now? Like does Bill Belichick take his 23 year old, 24 year old girlfriend onto a college campus with him? Are we looking at a TMZ situation over the next nine months to a year?

One of these students is going to, you know what? Let me let me relax. I don't need no lawsuits. OK, I don't need any problems. All right. I'm just in my imagination. I'm not Pablo Torre.

I've done no investigating. OK, just jokes. Leave me alone.

OK. It's the J.R. Sportbree Show here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network right now, this minute, this second. Yeah, I don't know if Indiana has a comeback. Well, let me say the are these the New York Knicks? No, it's the Pacers.

OK, Cleveland leads 73 to 51 against the Pacers. Yeah, Donovan Mitchell, 20, Evan Mobley, 12. Darius Garland, five in his return. Max Struce, 13 points.

Oh, man. Meanwhile, for the Pacers, I guess Tyrese Halliburton, either that wrist is bothering him or maybe his cojones were too heavy. He was carrying them around after that big shot.

The NBA said don't do that dance again. Tyrese Halliburton only has two points. OK, he is one of six from the field. Tonight, maybe he is overrated.

Miles Turner has 12 points. This game looks like. It's.

It's trash, but it's 73 51. Yeah, I don't I don't think there's going to be a comeback in this one. If there is, I'm going to walk from Atlanta, Georgia to. I don't know.

I don't want to I don't want to walk 20 miles anywhere here in Atlanta. I'm not Paul Pierce. Anyway, it's the J.R. Sportbree Show on the Infinity Sports Network. We're going to take a break when we come back. We're going to have a chat with Tori Penso because it's Mother's Day weekend and she's a mother. She also has one of the biggest jobs, one of the most important jobs that you would say in sports. She's a referee for FIFA.

Have you heard some of these stories about these reps? There's some of the things that the athletes and the coaches and the players and the the fans say to them. Tori is tough with a mother's touch and a mother's love. We'll have a conversation with Tori on the other side of the break, showing love to her and all the moms. And of course, at the end of the show, we'll talk about a few things that took place this day in sports history.

Don't move. Happy Friday. Happy Mother's Day weekend. It's the J.R. Sportbree Show. I love moms on the Infinity Sports Network. It's the J.R. Sportbree Show here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network. We are only two days away from Mother's Day.

Forget about it. You know what? We're right here sitting on Mother's Day weekend and joining us right now is someone who happens to be a mother. She's a spectacular mother. She's a spectacular professional. And she's going to talk about motherhood as well as something that's getting ready to start next month here all over the United States of America.

It is the FIFA Club World Cup. Joining us right now is referee Tori Penso. Tori, how are you? I'm doing excellent, J.R. Well, thank you for being here. Happy Mother's Day to you.

Thank you very much. Mom of three, I guess the first question is, how the heck do you balance being one of the top referees on soccer, football in the world, but then also be a spectacular mom? Those three little girls make me a spectacular referee, J.R. That's the secret to the success, man. I love being a mother. It's one of the most rewarding and challenging jobs.

It's probably harder than being a referee at times, but those skill sets have certainly taught me how to be a better referee, having more empathy, more patience on the pitch of play, for sure. So I think they go hand in hand. I wouldn't have it any other way. I come home if I've had a good day or a bad day at the office and those little girls squeeze me all the same.

And that is a beautiful thing about being a mom. That's awesome. Now, I know reffing is in the family, your husband also a ref. And how did you get involved with being a ref? This is still 10, 10 plus years.

It's still relatively new. You were on the marketing side of things. I was. I was. You know, when I first came up, there wasn't a professional referee pathway.

And there certainly wasn't that for females. And I'm really proud to say today there is. And you can be a professional referee. I do this full time. I get to train for two hours a day. I get to look at clips and analyze teams and go out there every Saturday and put on my best show I can. So it's a beautiful job.

It's taken me across the globe. Luckily, my husband and I both get to do this. And we've actually just started a new ritual where we're going to start taking one of our daughters with us at least once every, every weekend of this tournament. So I hope that they get to experience this very cool job that we have in a very unique way. That's awesome. FIFA referee Tori pencil is here with us. The JR sport reshow Coast to Coast on the Infinity Sports Network.

Now that's some good mother daughter bonding. I mean, some of those experiences will be awesome. We know that we're a little more than a month away from the FIFA Club World Cup starting down in Miami, Florida. We got 11 cities here in the United States of America, everything from from DC, Cincinnati here in Atlanta of the finale up in New York.

We're all over the place. What are you looking forward to the most? Because you're roughing that next month, the Club World Cup and then the FIFA World Cup next year. Oh, we hope we hope Club World Cup for sure. And like you said, it's it's an incredible competition. It's the first of its kind. It's the first truly global competition at the club level that we will have ever seen. And it's being played right here in the United States.

So we are super lucky to get first class seats here. And I'm excited to have the best seat in the house as a referee here. As the only female trio in the tournament, there's a lot of pressure on us. But we're so very much excited for what this competition will bring, not just to fans, but to young players all over. To get to watch these incredible players live is going to be just such an incredible experience. It's going to be awesome. I encourage everybody to go to FIFA.com and get some tickets.

It sounds like a good Mother's Day gift. If mom is into soccer, you want to get her outside. But outside of that, it's talking about reffing.

I don't care what sport I watch. Some of these athletes, these guys get nuts with the referees. How do you keep these these dudes in check? You know, there's an incredible amount of pressure on players on coaches on teams to perform to get that W every Saturday. I try not to think of that pressure as our pressure as match officials. Our job is to keep it fair and keep it safe so that you guys can have an entertaining match as fans and enjoy the game. You know, we do our best out there. We don't look to go out there despite what people might think to make a decision wrong. We don't try and lose the game for your teams. Despite what y'all might think. We go out there to try and make the best decisions we can day in and day out. And we fight very hard.

We train really hard to make sure that we are making the best decisions we can. And I love this game. And I love that I get to go out there and do that every Saturday.

FIFA ref Tory pencil is here with us on the JR sport brief show coast to coast. Well, you've ref the FIFA's Women's World Cup. And what is your favorite experience? You got to give the audience one of your best.

You got to find one, right? They're all so amazing. You know, being at the Women's World Cup last year, 2023 at the Australia New Zealand, that was incredible. You know, to see how women's sports has just grown and in a small island like Australia to have 75,000 people there in the stadium, the roar of the crowd, it was just an incredible experience. And I'm really excited looking ahead to this summer to see what we can bring to these stadiums and the environments that we can create in some of the best soccer we're going to see all year long. The FIFA Club World Cup getting started next month, June 14th down in Miami. Looking forward to seeing guys like Messi and Bape.

It's going to be a lot of fun. We got a lot of women who listen to sports radio. They call up every now and then. They call me and tell me that they like listening to me better than their husbands. That's a true story, by the way, Tori.

OK, that's that's what I hear. What advice would you give to any of our female listeners that are just on that work family life balance? Anything is possible. It's not easy. It's not easy. But you can have your cake and eat it, too. You can have a family and you can strive for whatever it is in your career that you want to achieve. And just because you've started to have a family or want to have a family, it doesn't mean that you have to stop competing at the highest levels. And we've seen that now.

I am one example, but there are many of them. The other piece of it is sports are better with us in it. And you see that.

I hope everyone feels that as well. And there's a place for us. And one example is as official here in Major League Soccer and at the Club World Cup, you're going to see us out there and we're going to be competing with the best of them. We're going to keep up with the play and we're going to show you great entertaining matches. And we belong in the sport. And I hope that women believe that and they see that. And I'm just one example of many for that. That's awesome.

You were absolutely right about that. Well, Tori, thank you so much for the time, so much for the insight. I know people can go to FIFA.com, get their hands on some tickets for mom and her whole family. Check out all the cities and locations. Do you have any final last words, things that you want to share, anything people need to follow you at?

I mean, they can follow me. I'm on Instagram, Tori Penso. You want to see the behinds of the scene look of what it's like to be a match official. I'm out there, but definitely look forward to seeing everybody show up this summer for the FIFA Club World Cup.

Hey, Tori, thank you so much. I'll catch you on down the line. Hopefully I'll see you at one of the matches, but you're going to be real busy.

You probably ain't going to have time for me, I'm sure. If I ever get to Atlanta, I love that stadium. I'm happy to say hi, JR. No taking. Tori Penso here with us.

It's the JR Sport Reshow here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network. And we're going to take a break in a second. Talk to my main man, Marco Belletti. I got to make sure that he's all set up for Mother's Day weekend. Marco, you ready for Mother's Day? Of course. Always.

What does that mean? Always ready? I'm always ready because I don't know what the hell's going on.

I wish I could tell you exactly what it is. All I know is as I left tonight, it's possible. I may have to go to my sister-in-law's, but I still don't know what's going on for Mother's Day. Isn't that good when you only have to just show up? Isn't that the best? I guess, but that means that I'm driving two and a half hours with three kids in the car. Yeah. So that's not just waking up. I thought you were just like, getting a car drive 15, 20 minutes, two and a half hours?

Yeah. That would be if I'm going to my sister's. I could be there in 15 minutes, which is where the rest of my family's going, but I don't know if I'm going there. What the heck do you do with three kids for two and a half hours in a car?

90? Because that's what I was doing a lot of times the last time I think I went. Oh, don't say that, Marco. Do they fall asleep faster that way? Nah, two of them aren't going to sleep no matter what.

Really? If I can get the youngest, yeah. I mean, my oldest is almost 11. He's not going to sleep, so, but he's fine. I'm not worried about him. And my daughter's almost five.

She's actually decent. She'll just ask questions for two and a half hours. I can deal with that.

It's the almost two year old. That's the key to it all. You're either going to get him crying for two hours or you hope that he falls asleep. Oh, he has to fall asleep. I don't have to do anything.

He'll be awake for like 30 minutes, the first 30 minutes of the trip. And that's not always how it works, man. Really? Yeah, it's really not. I really wish it was.

That's not always how it works. What time of day do you think you're going to do the drive? If we go, it'd probably be like around one o'clock, which is- Oh, that's nap time!

Come on, bro. That's decent. So I got a shot that he would actually fall asleep. Yeah. Listen, if I put my kid in the car in the middle of the day, especially- I plan stuff out to knock him the hell out, okay?

I used to do that, too. This one is not as compatible with that, no. Knockoutable?

That's a new word. Yeah. The oldest, no problem. If I couldn't get him to go, I'm just going for a ride.

I'll get him in five minutes and I'll come back. I don't care. This one doesn't work like that. You got the Terminator of toddlers out here? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Hey, go take a nap. The kid just burns holes in you.

You take a nap. Yeah, pretty much. Yeah, pretty much. Pretty much. Damn, Marco. Yeah. Marco, your last name's Baletti. Give him a little wine, man.

Give him a little wine. Come on. You know what?

That might actually be something I got to start thinking about. Yeah, a couple of drops. Come on, man, okay? Yeah.

You know what? Because I've been saying this for a long time. I don't know why, because everybody always talks about the first couple of months or whatever, and then once you get them to sleep through the- my kids, man, none of them sleep. So I don't know when that magic trick is. I'm sure it's going to be when they're teenagers and then I don't care no more, but none of them sleep.

Wow. Even the 11-year-old, man, if I'm home, which is luckily I'm not home all that often, when I'm home at night, at least twice he'll come like, see me, like, what do you want? Just, you know, you do the spin, you just send him back. Like, what do you want? I don't want- You want something from the fridge?

What the hell you want from me? Ah, whatever. Yeah, that's what I'm saying.

I'm about to get in my face. Yeah. Five-year-old, same thing.

She's a mess. They don't sleep, man. Yeah, well, at least all you got to do is drive, potentially. That's it. True. That's it.

True. It's not bad. Not bad. I'm going to buy some flowers and call it a day, okay? Is that what you got? I was going to say.

That's all you're doing, Mr. Flowers? Yeah, buy flowers. I make food anyway.

I buy flowers, make some dinner. Call it a day, man. I like that. I like that. Easy. Let me tell you something, I ain't driving nowhere, okay? You can throw that out the window. I know a lot of people over the weekend go, they got to drive, got to visit this person.

I don't know if they're per- I don't know. It's just going to be a lot of people driving, not me. The weather down here is supposed to be crap. It's been beautiful. You know, most of the times it's beautiful, but it's supposed to be crap the next two days.

It's supposed to be raining on Saturday and Sunday. And you know the worst thing about Mother's Day, Marco? You know what it is? It's that everybody is going outside to eat.

From morning until night. It has to be- if you work at a restaurant and you can make money and shout outs to people working in the restaurants, the cooks, the chefs, everybody listening, God bless you, okay? Good for you. But everybody just saying, hey, it's after church. We got to we got to go eat. Hey, it's brunch time. We got to go eat. Got to take mom out and grandma and mom and it's dinner time. We got to go eat. You don't want mom and grandma. You don't want nobody to cook.

And so everybody is going out to eat. It is a bleep show. I hate that. I hate it.

I think I've had I've had to do it once before. And it's just like I'm in I'm looking around. It's like, look at all these moms and grandmas and wives and and nobody's cooking today. So everybody has to stand outside the restaurant and suffer for 40 minutes.

Excuse me, ma'am. How long is the wait? It's two hours.

What? So I still got to make mom cook. Like, what are we doing? Hey, mom, the wait is two hours. You got to cook.

We're driving back. Get to work. I'll do dessert. I'll go to the supermarket. I'll go to a grocery store and get a cake or something. But you got to cook. Otherwise we starve. Well, talk about a mess.

Go into the supermarket on Mother's Day. Not only you got every guy trying to go through the floral department to get the flowers that day, there's no women in the store. So you got a bunch of guys that are usually wandering. They look like they're sleepwalking. They have no idea where the hell anything is. They're already annoyed. They've got children with them, too. So that's already I mean, it's a disaster.

It's a disaster. Listen, Mark, I was in a grocery store today, right? As I was wheeling my shopping cart in, there was a guy that I've never seen.

Never seen this guy before in my life. He had a he had a cart. You know what's on that cart? This guy was unloading every flower and arrangement possible. I've never seen so many damn flowers. They put out an extra table in the front of the grocery store.

Shout out to Kroger. They had an extra table out there and it was all covered. And I'm like, OK, this is Friday in the middle of the day. I said, what is this place going to look like?

Are these balloons and flowers? All these things are going to be gone by when? Sunday afternoon? Is it going to be Monday, Sunday morning? Monday.

Guys are going to forget. Oh, no, no, no. They're going to come in all time.

Look, I worked in a supermarket for over a decade. Sunday is a mess. They're coming in all times of the day. So the morning is a total disaster into the afternoon. Unless you sell out, they'll be wandering in at seven, eight o'clock that night because they still got to either hit their mother's house because they spent the day with their wife, whatever it is. And then the people that come in Monday because they went to one side of the family and not the other.

So now they're going to get them on on the cheap. Bro, all you can get is dead flowers. You think there's another shipment coming in? That's it. You got what's left.

So, yeah, no, it's it's a mess. If you get Mother's Day flowers on Monday, I mean, what are we doing? You might as well be disowned.

What are you doing? That's terrible. That's bad. It's not like Valentine's Day where you could buy the candy after and, you know, just well, Halloween, you get the candy on a discount for yourself after. No, no, sorry. Mother's Day. You got to you got to get Mother's Day on the weekend.

You can't do no Monday. Wow. Yeah. Anyway, shout outs to Tori Penso for joining. That's a tough job. She is a woman and one of the most complaining ass sports ever. She's tough and she's a mom.

Shout outs to all of the moms out there. It's the JR Sportbreeze show here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network. We're going to take a break when we come back. We're going to wrap things up. We'll talk about a few things that took place this day in sports history.

It is the JR Sportbreeze show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network. Thank you so much to Tori Penso for joining us in the last break. Coming through to show love and tell a happy Mother's Day. And also as I look forward to the FIFA Club World Cup starting next month. Damn, time flies when you're having fun.

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there. I need to let you know about this NASCAR race preview sponsored by Weather Guard Truck and Van Equipment. They're just as driven as the hardworking pros they serve. This weekend's NASCAR action features races at Kansas Speedway, including the Arker Minard Series, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and the NASCAR Cup Series at Vant Health 400.

The Cup Series race is Sunday at 3 p.m. on Fox Sports 1. It is the end of the show. You know what that means? It means it's time for a few things that took place this day in sports history. Back in the days when I was young, I'm not a kid anymore, but some days I sit and wish I was a kid again. It's time for this day in sports history. You see, back in those days we had radio and you couldn't see anything.

And it was primitive and lousy and we liked it. On the JR Sportbreeze show. I wish I was 50 years younger and I'd kick your ass. It is the JR Sportbreeze show here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network. How about this? May 9th, 2006, we had a playoff matchup. We had the Anaheim Ducks versus the Colorado Avalanche. And for the first time in NHL history, we had a player go out there and drop four goals. His name?

Joffrey Lupo. Let's go back in time. May 9th, 2006.

Let's take a listen to what this sounds like courtesy of TSM. That's great. They ultimately went ahead and won the series. They got close to making it to the Stanley Cup Finals. Anaheim did, but they were eliminated by Edmondson. The Oilers got them. Carolina Hurricanes won that championship back in 2006.

How about this? May 9th, 2010, Dallas Braden with a perfect game. The A's, formerly of Oakland, now Sacramento.

Future Vegas. That's right. They don't claim Sacramento. Anyway, the Oakland A's beat the Rays 4 to nothing. Dallas Braden, that game, had six strikeouts in a perfect, though.

That's a lot of work for the defense. Let's go ahead and take a listen courtesy of Comcast Sportsnet. It happened to be on, guess what? Mother's Day.

Yeah, it was Mother's Day because, I mean, this would have been Mother's Day. This is the range of it. Yeah, Dallas Braden, six strikeouts. Man, that's a lot of, I can't even begin to tell you. That's a lot of work by the defense. And there you have it, folks. Those are a few things that took place this day in sports history. This minute, this second, this is not history.

I don't know. Do we got another one of these stupid runs coming? The Cleveland Cavaliers lead the Pacers 100 to 84. It's about 10 minutes to go here in the fourth quarter. Donovan Mitchell has been hot. He has another big game, 29 points. He had 48 in the last game. Meanwhile, the Indiana Pacers trying to play catch up here. Tyrese Halliburton, just a terrible performance.

That risk must really be bothering him. Four points, five assists. That's it.

I mean, Ben Matherin is really keeping him alive off the bench with 20 points. And so there was a lot of hype about these Indiana Pacers. Oh, they got a 2-0 lead. What are they going to do? Halliburton with that big shot.

Well, there's something got to be going on with Halliburton to be shooting this bad. Two of eight from the field. I mean, damn it, if he was back in Cleveland, they'd be yelling at him right now, this minute, that he is overrated. All the Cavaliers stars are back. Evan Mobley with 16, returning from that sprained ankle. Max Struce with 17. DeAndre Hunter playing 18 minutes, he has eight points.

And Darius Garland, not a great shooting night coming back from that busted up foot. He has nine points. You can assume, I assume, that the Cavaliers are going to end this game, and the series will be 2-1 Pacers to Cavs. In a few minutes, we got another matchup that will take place. This series is tied at 1-all. We got the Denver Nuggets taking on the Oklahoma City Thunder. They're 1-all. This will be their first game in Denver, Colorado.

Hopefully that game is a little bit closer than what we're witnessing right now, which is basically a beatdown. It's really that simple. What a fun show. What a fun week. Hey Nick, thank you for all your help holding things down today. Appreciate you.

No problem. It's been a fun one. Yeah, it's been a busy show. Thank you so much again to Tori Penso, a FIFA referee, match official for MLS.

Thank you Tori for coming through to join us in the last break. And look, man, we got some good basketball. I will be locked into the TV tomorrow, especially when the New York Knicks host the Boston Celtics. Is Jason Tatum going to show up? Is he going to show out in Madison Square Garden?

Or the New York Knicks going to go up 3-0 against the Pacers and get oh so much closer to their first Eastern Conference playoffs appearance, their finals appearance in the Eastern Conference, I should say, since 2000, where they also took on the Pacers. The JR Sportbree Show here with you coast to coast is done. I'll be back with you on Monday, 6 p.m. Eastern, 3 Pacific. Wherever you are, please be safe.

Please be well. I'm out of here. I'm going. You can find me online at JR Sportbree.

But coming up next is Bart Winkler. So don't move right here on the Infinity Sports Network. Please be safe. Be well. Be cool. Be smooth. JR Sportbree Show done.
