Corey, how are you, man? I'm good. How you doing?

I'm good, brother. You still feeling the high after the victory on Monday night, or has it kind of settled in a little bit? No, still on top of the world. Come on, Gator Nation is back.

Absolutely. Well, we see Gator Nation is back. You on that team, 06 and 07. It's kind of crazy to think. It's 2025, and the Gators did it with a 39-year-old head coach in Todd Golden. Are you surprised at how fast the program has gotten his victory and just kind of only three years in charge from him? I'm not surprised just because when they hired him, we kind of knew he was the right guy for the job. You know, being a young guy with a lot of energy and, you know, coming to Florida, you know, we really care about our sports and this NIL thing is going crazy. I knew we were going to put the pieces in the right place.

Well, you talk about one piece. Unfortunately, he's going to be moving on probably will likely increased his draft stack and status status and that's Walter Clayton Jr. When you take a look at what he's been able to do throughout the course of the tournament, helping to lead these comebacks. What are your thoughts on what you see and how he's going to be able to transition over into the league? Man, he's just a really good player, but he just makes big plays. He's a big shot maker shot taker and that's what's going to help him at the next level. You know, he's a guy who's not scared of the moment and he's a older guy, you know, four-year guy.

He's going to be ready to play right away. Corey Brewer is here with us on the JR sport b-show Coast to Coast. Man, if we go back to 06-07, you were on those championship squads most outstanding player. Is there a memory that stands out to you going back damn near 20 years now? Man, just the whole experience of going through it, just winning it all like I'll never forget just standing up there with the guys and the confetti falling. It's like, wow, we really did it. Like it's the pinnacle. Like you're at the end, you did it. Like you won the last game and that's what it's all about.

You want to win a championship, you want to win your last game. So I bet those guys filling right now, they're on top of the world. They're going to be on top of the world for a while, especially back in Florida. Gainesville is going crazy. Man, when you go back to Gainesville, I know you're traveling crisscrossing the country quite a bit with the Pels. What is it like when you're back in Gainesville? It's always great. Everybody shows you a lot of love. You know, a lot of people still remember, you know, us winning the championship.

Now they really going to remember everything. Basketball, those guys are going to be, they're going to be remembered for the rest of their life. Corey, right now you are a player development coach with the Pelicans. I could turn on a game.

I can go to an arena here, Atlanta, anywhere, and I could turn on the TV and it's boom. Hey, there's, there's Billy Donovan on the sidelines coaching the Pels. You know, I could turn on a TV and joke him, Noah's on my phone on a podcast. And then I go, what the hell is Al Horford still doing out there? What is he doing? He's still running around playing. Hey, Al's ageless, man.

The ageless one there. He's taking care of his body. He changed with the game. He evolved.

He was a big man. He was able to start adding a three point shot to his game and he's still kicking and he's in a great position. He's playing with a bunch of young guys who can really play, just won a championship and he's in a, he's in a great position right now in life and in basketball.

So I'm happy for him to still be out there doing what he's doing. Man, Corey, when you think about the current structure of what you guys had at Florida and just how college basketball has changed, the transfer portal and NIL, do you think this current structure is good or bad? The fact that you can't keep a team like yours together? I think it's pros and cons both ways, but I think, um, it is what it is.

It's, they implement the NIL now. You just got to go with the flow and you got to hope your team makes the right decisions and you want to see a winner. And I'm happy Florida, we involved, we did what we had to do.

We got a great plan while they claim from the transfer reporter and we made it happen. Corey Brewer is here with us on the JR Sportbreeze show Coast to Coast, but we talked about some of the jobs that you and your contemporaries have grown into. You right now, as a player development coach with the New Orleans Pelicans, we see that the season is about to end. What does that off season look like for you? Because we know that even in the off season, traditionally there's always something to do.

Oh yeah, for sure. You know, when we end, we'll take a little break and then we'll get our young guys back. Then we'll start getting ready for the draft process and hopefully we get a good pick and we can add to the talented guys we have on this roster. And then I also plan a big three, so I'll be out there planning the big three ice cubes, basketball league, my competitive.

Yeah, we've had cube here on on the show a couple of times. Corey, we also learned that that Dwight Howard is now going to be a part of the big three. Do you think the big three lends itself more towards guys in the interior guys on the wing like yourself?

How do you think that work? What do you think? It was a little bit of both, but you know, my team won a championship last year, so I'm gonna say it is what it is. You got the right team out there. Corey Brewer is here with us.

The JR Sport Reshow Coast to Coast on the Infinity Sports Network. What's what's next for you? Player development coach, you're still getting the the physical juices going and competitive juices in a big three. We see guys like Mike Malone getting fired. Championship coaches, do you aspire to eventually lead a team? Of course, that's always the goal when you get into a business. And, you know, I got into the coaching business, so the goal is always to be a head coach one day. And I got a great mentor and Willie Green just watching and learning from him. It's been good for me.

Absolutely. We see what Willie Green is doing with the Pels. We see the work that you do and we see the seasons over. We see Zion, unfortunately, is back in the news. We see when he's out there, he's absolutely killing it.

What transition and what changes have you seen? What does he need to do just to kill off all the noise on the outside and just kill on a basketball court? You got to stay healthy, you know, do the right things. He'll be fine. You know, he's a young guy, but I feel like our organization gonna do the right thing and he'll be fine. Cory Brewer here with us on the JR Sport Reshow, an organization that you played for and won a championship. Those Dallas Mavericks in 2011. Right now we see Luca is back in Dallas. A lot of the fans aren't happy with a good reason with what took place. What was your experience like playing in Dallas and winning that championship and a passion to those fans out there? Oh, I love playing in Dallas. Fans are great. They show you a lot of love and they're behind you 100 percent.

So, you know, they had a great player. So, of course, it's gonna be hard feelings, but you still got to support your team. Now, do you think Luca is going over 30 or below 30 tonight? We know he's going to want some get back. I have no idea.

It'll be a good game, though. Now, when you when you watch Luca, what makes him so dynamic? It's one thing to watch him and say he's not flying like Anthony Edwards. He's not a freak like Giannis Atteracumpo. What makes him?

You are a great defender. When you look at him, what makes him special in regards to taking over an offense, but not being the most physically gifted. I mean, he's always under control. You can't speed him up. So he's under control. He sees the game and guys like that are under control and he's big.

I mean, he's a tough matchup. Corey Brewer, as we start to wrap up here on the Infinity Sports Network, we talked about what's next for you and what's coming up with the Pels. What do you expect from the Gators?

We talked about how crazy things are with the portal and NIL. How long do you think this runway is for them to continue to be successful? I feel like we're going to add some pieces. We're going to get some guys who want to come to Gainesville and we're going to try to run it back again. And I think Todd's going to do a great job.

The whole coaching staff, they got a bunch of good young coaches and they're going to get some more pieces and let's do it again. We're going to see a seven foot nine man running up and down that court next year. Oliver.

Big Oliver is supposed to be ready. So I want to see him myself. Oh my seven foot. Corey, you ever dunk on somebody seven nine?

No. Right. I ain't never been on the court with somebody seven nine.

Yeah, I understand that. Well, Corey, thank you so much for taking some time to talk up and big up your Gators and everything you got going on. Where can we follow and keep up with you? I want to see you dunk in a big three soon. Come on, man.

Oh yeah. You can go to I'm on Twitter at the Corey Brewer and you know, check out the big three man. Big three is going to be fun this year. Much as Harold's going to be playing the white Howard.

It's going to be a lot of guys trying to come out and show what they can do. All right. Hey, Corey, just go dunk on Dwight. Go do that. Okay. Can I count on that? I got you.

If he's in the way, he's definitely getting dunked on. I hear that. Hey, Corey, thank you so much. Good luck in the off season.

Everything that you got going on. Thank you. You got some word for the Gator fans out there. Hey, Gator nation. We're back. The Gator boys stay hot. Let's go.
