Hope you're doing good wherever you are. I'm going to be hanging out with you for the next two hours. It's a four-hour show. You can consider this to be halftime.

I get started 10 p.m Eastern, 7 Pacific. Here's the big news for the evening. If you're just turning on the radio, you're just getting out of work, you're just walking in, you're just walking out, whatever the case might be, the Denver Nuggets beat the Lakers tonight 108 to 103. Denver now leads the series 2-2 nothing. Jamal Murray went nuts. At one point the Los Angeles Lakers led by 11 points. Jamal Murray finished the night with 37 points. He by himself had 23 points in the fourth quarter and the Lakers as a team in the fourth. The Lakers had 24.

Yes, that you heard me correctly. 24 points for the Lakers. 23 points for Jamal Murray in the fourth quarter.

He was just knocking down three after three after three after three. Jamal Murray went nuts. A matter of fact, I want you to listen to Jamal Murray. Just, just knock down a three in the fourth to pretty much put the Nuggets up by 12 points.

Take a listen to this. This is one of his six threes. Bruce Brown has it. Bottom part of the mid-court circle. Throws it left side over to Natoly Jokic. Jokic hands it off to Murray. Another three.

Got it again. Start slow and you finish strong. Denver back in the lead by 12.

And now what they say, it's not how you start, it's how you finish. Yeah, he had 10 points in the first half. 27 points the rest of the game. 23 of those in the fourth quarter. Jamal Murray just finished speaking with the media. And he was asked to describe how the hell he was feeling. I assume it was, it was good.

I assume so. Can you describe the zone you were in in the fourth quarter? 23, four three-pointers and then obviously those two threes, AD and Brown.

Yeah, I mean, you know, once I see a couple go in, you know, I can get it rolling. So I was able to just find a little separation and just rise up over the top and make some shots. I thought Mike played great. No making shots. Bruce, I think everybody, it wasn't really offensive game for most of the game, but on defense everybody stepped up and made big plays. Jeff came in with a big charge. Yeah, I can go down the line, but everybody had a moment in the game defensively.

Everybody had a moment? Oh, what a team player he is. I mean, he's an NBA player. He scored 31 points in the last game against the Lakers.

He scored 37 tonight. I wouldn't be so damn humble. I'd be talking about how great everybody else is, but I'd be patting myself on the back too.

You know what? I guess that's what he has a coach for. Mike Malone.

He was patting himself on the back and he was like, yeah, I love Jamal Murray. I love the crowd. I love the defense. I love the fact that we're up 2-0 in this series.

Listen to Mike Malone. And obviously for him to go out there and get 37, 10 and 5 and score 23 in the fourth quarter was just a tremendous boost for us. And I challenge our guys to start the fourth. This has to be our best fourth quarter. We're going to have a lot of fun. We're going to have to start the fourth.

This has to be our best fourth quarter defense. And we started off 20 to 5 and built a great lead. The crowd was phenomenal. Huge shout out to our fans for continuing to make Ball Arena just a hell of a home court advantage. We really appreciate that.

But this was a war. Both these games, man, they feel like they're five hours long. We won the rebounding battle once again. Ball Arena.

I want to call that stupid thing Pepsi Center so much Ball Arena. Anyway, Lakers weren't balling. Anthony Davis had 18 points, 4-15 from the field.

LeBron James, he had 22 points, 9 rebounds, 10 assists. LeBron was 0 of 6 from 3. DeAngelo Russell had another crap game that gave you 10 points. He was 1 of 5 from 3. The Lakers took 30 threes and they only made 8 of them. Ruhi Hotcher-Moore was getting busy in the first half. He had 17 points. He finished the game with only 21. Yeah, he's a role player. You're not expecting him to get fed all game long.

But I mean damn. The Lakers did not have a ball. The Lakers stunk. Austin Reeves had a good game.

Price about to go up. 22 points, 5 assists. He was the only Laker who could hit a shot worth a damn.

He was 5 of 9 from downtown. Austin Reeves, so important now. He spoke to the media and he detailed why they stunk in the second half. And then he even talked about Jokic, who by the way, it's so normal now. Jokic had another triple-double.

Listen to Austin Reeves. Four possessions in a row where they hit four threes. A couple of them were really contested and I think a couple of them were kind of defensive breakdowns. But tip your hat, they made shots when they needed to. What's the defensive difficulty, I suppose, of trying to make sure you're staying with Jokic as a team and then also get out to the ball screens and limit what the threes are?

How do you guys play that? Yeah, I mean, Jokic, like I said last night, or two nights ago, he's so good at making everybody around him, you know, up to their potential. He gets the max out of every player he has just by the way he demands everybody's focus, the way he can pass the ball. I mean, I thought for the most part we defended well besides, you know, a couple of those possessions where they got a couple threes. But like I said, tip your hat off and move on.

Yeah, that's all you can do is move on. You know, it's crazy when Jokic is an afterthought in this game when he has a triple-double. 23 points, 17 rebounds, 12 assists for Nikolai Jokic tonight. For anybody else, it'd be like, oh my God, he had an amazing game for Jokic.

It's just like, oh yeah, sure, we've seen this before. Bruce Brown came off the bench, gave you 12 points. Aaron Gordon had 10. Michael Porter Jr., big time as well, he had 16 points. He knocked down four threes. He spoke after the game as well and just Michael Porter Jr. went on about just what it's going to take to win in LA and how the locker room is feeling.

He was on ESPN. We got to go in there focused. It's a business trip, you know what I mean, and we just got to let our defense travel. We got to play defense. We got to stay on attack mode even though we're on an away court in a hostile environment. Okay, I want to know what was the first thing that coach said to you guys when you left the floor and made it into the locker room? Honestly, man, it's not like we're too high right now. He just said good win, you know, take care of business in LA because the job's not over. It was a big win for us, but the job's definitely not over.

That team, you know, they've shown they could play with us. It's going to be a great series, so we just got to bring it on the road. 855-212-4CBS.

That's 855-212-4CBS. Do you believe the Los Angeles Lakers can bounce back in this series? The Lakers are currently 6-0 at home.

They're going to go home, but they're down 0-2. They're capable of doing so. I would think, I would think that everybody who kind of fell into a low will step up like D'Angelo Russell can't be this bad. Austin Reeves has been consistent here, dropping 20+. LeBron James is LeBron. Anthony Davis, he can't have a crap game, or can he?

Not in consecutive games. I have the Lakers winning the series. For right now, the Denver Nuggets certainly have the edge. I think the Lakers will pick up a home game. I think the Lakers will win at home on Saturday night in game three, and if they don't, I think the Nuggets will still split, and I think the Nuggets will go back to Denver, and I think they'll have a 3-1 series lead. This is not looking good for the Los Angeles Lakers right now.

They better hope that returning home, that at least at minimum, D'Angelo Russell can step up and help out the offense. 855-212-4CBS. Mitchell is calling from Virginia. You're on CBS Sports Radio. Hey, what's up, J.R.?

Thanks for taking the time, and I hope you're having a good day. My two takes, and you hit on them during that intro. First, I want to say Jamal Murray should be talked about and be up there with Jason Tatum of the league. He's starting to really impress a lot of people and show what his worth is, and like you mentioned, his injuries definitely plagued him for a bit. In regards to the Lakers, I don't see them actually winning this series, and I think it's actually going to be a five-game series for the Denver Nuggets, but if the Lakers do want to make an impact into the series, they need their real players like Anthony Davis and LeBron James to really step up. Hatimora has been in there as a role player, and he's actually putting up almost the same points or more points as Anthony Davis or LeBron James. So Lakers, they need everybody to step up to actually beat a real team like the Denver Nuggets. That's what they want to do, and like the Denver Nuggets. That's my take.

I think it's a five-game series with Denver going into LA and taking at least one, maybe two, if they start really balling out. Over to you, and thanks for the time. Well, thank you so much, Mitchell. Excellent call from Virginia.

Really, really getting into your points very well. This is the hope that by the time that you get home, that you can walk away and say or walk into the game and know that your bench guys are going to perform better. That just maybe, just maybe at home, DeAngelo Russell is going to put up some points. Like we ended the regular season, and there were so many conversations about DeAngelo Russell and how the Los Angeles Lakers do not even need to look in the direction of Kyrie Irving because they have DeAngelo Russell. DeAngelo Russell has ice in his veins. DeAngelo Russell is a borderline, I'm going to say all-star, but you can count on him for what?

17 and 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, maybe not 10. But on the given night, say he'll give us 15 plus. He'll go off every now and then.

He's going to hit some big shots. DeAngelo Russell, he's been a ghost. Can we go ahead and send him back to Ohio State?

Like this is pretty pathetic here. If I'm LeBron James, I'm in the locker room and I'm going, this is why I wanted Kyrie Irving, so I ain't got to look at this guy. Like it's one thing to do it in the regular season.

We have seen what Kyrie Irving can do in the postseason. Now, do we know it's a pain in the ass to get him there? Yeah.

You're going to cost a lot of money? Yes. Is there guaranteed to be some controversy?

Yeah, it is. But you can't dispute the talent. But despite all the headaches, it's not where they're at right now. DeAngelo Russell has just been pathetic. And the Lakers ain't winning a damn thing if he doesn't show up to help the offense. Yeah, we know Anthony Davis needs to work. We know LeBron James needs to work.

But to have all the pressure of the world on them because DeAngelo Russell is playing basketball mentally on Mars right now, that's not going to cut it. 8-5-5, 2-1-2 for CBS. Marco is calling from here in Atlanta.

You're on the JR Sport Brief Show. Go ahead Marco. Yeah, man. I like your show, man. How you doing tonight? Very well.

What's up? Yeah, I just want to say that I hear what you're saying about DeAngelo Russell, but when you watch basketball in the old days with MJ and Kobe and those type of guys this late in the season, the Western Conference Finals, trying to get to the finals, trying to get to the finals. I think LeBron got to do more than 22 points and nine and nine minutes. I think LeBron needs to dig deep and pull it out and see for the if he can drop 30-35 for the next 10 games. I think that'll win him a championship. I think he needs to really dig down deep and try to get it because next year he's just a cell of himself now. So next year he'll be a shell of a show of himself. I watched at the end of the game, I watched the two turnovers at the end of the game where the dude stole the ball from him and just some listless turnover at the end. He's not going to win like that.

What do you think? Well, I think we have to, at this point, we have to recognize LeBron James and you did, but I think it's unfair to kind of pockmark it here. He is 38 years old. You want him to put up some big games? He scored 26 points in the last game and they lost.

26 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists. Hold on Marco. Marco, Marco, Marco. Thank you. Did I interrupt you Marco? No, no.

Thank you. He is 38 years old. I made a point last hour that he is 38 years old and this is not LeBron James from four and five years ago where he's going to put everything on his back and say, oh my God, I got to just go get 40. What he's doing is absolutely amazing. To ask him to do more is not fair. I'm going to repeat to you again what he did tonight and yes, he had some turnovers. He shot poorly, 0 of 6. He missed on a dunk because the ball slipped out of his hands. He still had 22 points, 10 assists and nine rebounds.

Okay. He didn't shoot completely like garbage. He almost went 50% despite missing six threes. He scored 26 points in the last game. To close out Golden State, the man had 30 points, 9 and 9.

Before that he had 25 and 27. So we can talk about what LeBron James needs to do. Okay. You said it. I said it. He's older. That's it. He's older and I do get that.

I understand everything you say. But when I'm watching him, I'm thinking this is the last rodeo for him. Next year, this will not be a LeBron led team.

He's just a shell, man. I wouldn't say that. This will always, as long as LeBron James is playing basketball at this level, still at an all-star level, there is nothing wrong.

Let me finish. I didn't say you said he wasn't at an all-star level, Marco. Actually, listen to what I'm saying. In between his ears, there is nothing wrong with LeBron James. My point is, I'm not putting words in your mouth.

Listen to me very carefully. As long as LeBron James is not at an all-star level, it will be a LeBron James led team. We can talk about what Anthony Davis needs to do. He's in the prime of his basketball life, the prime of his career, even given all of his injuries. He should be at his peak. But when it comes to who is the leader of the team, who sets the tone, who the guys are supposed to be, who is the leader of the team, who sets the tone, who the guys are supposed to follow, that is still and will be LeBron James. If you want to know, hold on, if you want to look towards next year and think that LeBron James should have even more of an impetus to all of a sudden wake up and say, oh my God, I got to go out there and get 50.

I think that's the wrong way to look at things. Can LeBron James be better in turnovers and mistakes and decisions? Yes, he can.

And we can all say that because they lost. But what the Los Angeles Lakers need more so than LeBron James, who's 38, has played about three or four additional seasons on top of the damn 20 that he's already been on, they need consistency from the younger guys who can perform better. That would be an Anthony Davis. That would be a D'Angelo Russell. And to think that LeBron has to go into the trough, can he do it? Yes. But to think that they need him to do it, then that's a recipe for them to go out there and lose.

That's it. Oh, D'Angelo Russell, he needs to do more. But LeBron James needs to do more. They're going to lose that way, bro.

We don't got no time machine. I mean, if we could take LeBron from out of Cleveland right now, I think that they'd probably be whooping their ass. If we took LeBron from Miami, I think he'd be whooping their ass right now.

But this is not him. And to start evoking the name of, oh my God, well, if this was Michael Jordan, man, can we do something else besides that? Well, if this was Michael Jordan, if this was also, you know, Kobe.

Well, let's take LeBron out of all the years he's been playing since he was 18 years old. You know, let's give him a vacation. Let's break his foot for a year. Man, he has done nothing but play basketball every single year. Sands are growing, sands are more injuries. More recently, as he's gotten older, he's played basketball every single year.

That's all he's done. Like the next thing you know, you're going to be asking LeBron James, hey, man, can you do me a favor? I'm having a party on Saturday night before the game. Can, can you stop by Marina Del Rey?

Can you turn some of my water into wine before you go to crypto.com? Oh yeah, and by the way, when you leave Marina Del Rey, LeBron, I don't want you to, you know, take on a, get on a 405. I want you to, I want to see you fly to the arena, LeBron. Can LeBron be better? Yes. You want him to go out there and score more? Fine. That's not the best way for them to win.

Let me say this to you again. Anthony Davis tonight, who's been inconsistent coming off of a 40-10 game. Are you expecting that from him or anybody every game?

Hell no. He had 18 points. He was 415 from the field. Anthony Davis needs to do more before you want LeBron James to do more. D'Angelo Russell has been garbage recently. Tonight he gave you 10 points. He was three of eight from the field. He was one of five from downtown, but LeBron has been garbage recently.

He needs to dig deeper. The game before this, D'Angelo Russell had a whopping eight points. He was four of 11 from the field. Come on. Austin Reeves is outperforming his ass. The Lakers need to do better.

Unless you got a time machine for LeBron James, I mean, damn, get over it. It's the JR Sport Brief Show here with you on CBS Sports Radio. I'm gonna take a break, get some more of your calls, and guess who just spoke?

Some guy named LeBron James. We'll hear from him on the other side, CBS Sports Radio. You're listening to the JR Sport Brief on CBS Sports Radio. JR, it's a privilege to speak with you, and it's my first time, and you are a sports encyclopedia.

And what I really do like about how you interact with the callers, you put a lot of thought into how you present anything in sports, and I really mean that. Call in now at 855-212-4CBS. Hey, somebody get Wayne Gretzky some coffee. Get him some coffee.

Get him caffeinated. He's actually like three blocks from me right now in the TNT studios. The Florida Panthers and the Carolina Hurricanes, they're getting ready to play their third overtime. This is game one of the Eastern Conference Finals over here.

They're tied to all. They're getting ready to play their third overtime here on the East Coast. It's about to be, I don't know, 1230. This is nuts. 855-212-4CBS.

That's 855-212-4CBS. Call Jimmy Butler. He'll go play.

It's ridiculous. Wes is calling from Atlanta. You're on the JR Sport Brief show, and then we're going to hear from LeBron James. Hey, Wes, what's on your mind? Hey, JR. First time caller, man. I appreciate y'all bringing me on.

Sure. So, these first three games of the Conference Finals, in my opinion, they've been great games. Props to the NBA for the product they're putting out right now. But I'm a Hawks fan, so I got to tell you, I feel like the gap that I'm realizing is between the Hawks and beating one of these teams in a series is just a lot larger than what I thought it was. And it's crazy to me that just a couple years ago, we were in the Eastern Conference Finals. So, I know Quinn Snyder's got his work cut out for him. I was going to get your thoughts on just how far, how big that gap is.

Well, there's going to have to be some changes. And, of course, being here in Atlanta, I'm asked this question all the time. Whether I'm in the arena, or I'm walking down the street, or in the studio, whatever the case might be, the Hawks, like for what you just said, they're not competitors. I didn't see them in the Eastern Conference Finals a few years ago and thought that anything that they did was particularly sustainable. There's a lot of redundancies on the Hawks roster. You have Trae Young here. I'm sure you know that there are a lot of fans who are starting to sour on him. You have the Jontay Murray who was traded over here.

Multiple picks given up to acquire him. You're not just going to let him walk on out the door. You have a new general manager. You got a bunch of big dudes who pretty much all do the same thing.

Run and jump and cut to the basket. A Kong Wu, Clint Capella, John Collins. So, something is going to have to give. There's going to be a domino to fall. Is it going to be this off season between one of the guards? Is it going to take a crap show between now and February for someone to get traded at the deadline? But there is going to be, I foresee, a major change somewhere somehow with the Hawks.

I can tell you this much. It's not going to be with another coach. It's not going to be with Quinn Snyder.

It's going to be with one of these players. So, I don't want to be the bearer of bad news. But this squad, I think we know what it's going to do. That's a whole lot of nothing and they know that they need to make adjustments. It's just a matter of which adjustment they can afford to make and when they'll do it. And so, don't hold your breath on them going back to another Eastern Conference Finals.

They have to improve the roster first. Thanks, JR. No, thank you, Wes. I feel so bad. I'm just telling the truth.

I see them all the time up close and personal. I told you LeBron James spoke. Lakers are down 0-2 here in the series. They're 6-0 at home. The Los Angeles Lakers are going to go back to California and just hope that they can improve their record to 8-0. Because even if they split the series in LA, they don't want to go back to Denver down 3-1. Death sentence.

Death sentence. As their fans falling asleep at the Canes game here in intermission because they're getting ready to go to their third overtime. They're tied to all the Panthers and the Canes. 8-5-5, 2-1-2 for CBS. Big Mac calling from Maryland. You're on the JR Sport Brief Show. Yes, sir. Hey, first of all, I'd like to tell you, man, this sports show, JR, y'all got it going on.

Y'all keep it real. And I just want to say tonight, LeBron, you played good. You have to give that to him for being 38 years old and having over 20 years in the NBA. Second of all, I think he should have dunked that ball at the end when he missed that layup.

All air balls. Patrick, you made that mistake way back in the finals against the Chicago Bulls, I think it was, and it broke a lot of hearts. And third, I think Lonnie Walker should have been put in the game at the end, fourth quarter. LeBron was very tired. And what was it, Murray was just draining three pointers left and right. So Lonnie Walker, I think he should have been put in that game. He's got some height to him. He's got some jump to him.

And he plays hard with integrity. Okay. And that's all I want to say.

I'm a big time Laker fan, a lot of Lakers, and hopefully they win, but I got them winning the next two. Okay. All right. That's a lot of optimism. Thank you, Big Mac, for calling from Maryland. That's a lot. Well, don't matter to me. Let's hear it.

One time, two times, three times, four times. Hey, LeBron James, you feel better going to play at home? No, I mean, we still got to play with the same desperation as we did tonight.

I mean, we came out with an L, but doesn't give us any more comfort. You can't go into any postseason game with comfort just because you either haven't lost at home or you're going back home. I think it's even more you got to be on edge because when you go home, you're getting your own bed, you're around your family, everybody's being cool and jolly and everything.

Nah, you got to be even more on edge when you get home. So, you know, we got to understand that going back and being down two, there's no reason for us to get comfortable. Okay.

All right. I don't know how comfortable Anthony Davis is. We're going to hear from Anthony Davis on the other side of the break. You know, this is the guy who had a crap game, 18 points for 15. If he was better offensively the entire team would have felt it. Between him and D'Angelo Russell, they were just crap.

They really were. We'll hear from Anthony Davis and his excuse on the other side. It's the Gerald Sportbreeze show on CBS Sports Radio. Hey Marco, when is this hockey game going to end? On Saturday? I'm going to assume at some point tonight or tomorrow morning, depending on where you are, where you're listening, I would say in the next hour or so we will get a final. But don't hold me to that because it's been a little nuts.

I was going to say, there's no way to answer this. Do you think that this show, the JR Sportbreeze show, will be off air and this game still continues on? Like, they'll be done before me, right?

Yeah, I think they will. Look, once you get into like the third and, you know, maybe if we go to the fourth overtime, at some point your legs got to go. Somebody's going to make a mistake just because they're going to be out of gas and that's going to lead to a goal. Yeah, well, I'm here for, well, yeah, I'll be here for about 90 more minutes.

Hey, Shep, what say you? Somebody's going to finish this off in this overtime, right? Oh my god, the game just ended. I'm kidding, still 2-2. It's probably going to be over by this overtime. I'm with Marco on this.

Definitely before the end of your show. Yeah, it'll be the third. Hey, Shep, that was a terrible, terrible joke. But it wasn't because you're always either ahead of me or we're ahead of you.

No, that's not seriously. I thought you had me because that slap shot almost went in. So, I thought you had me. Yeah, it wasn't that bad. Irrelevant of timing. You understand that I read nothing into what you said. Man, you're tough on my jokes sometimes, JR. Because the joke sucked.

Got it. You're listening to the JR Sport Brief on CBS Sports Radio. You're listening to the JR Sport Brief on CBS Sports Radio. I listen to you every night. In the whole hospital that I work at, I got 50 guys listening to you. I walk around this hospital now and all I hear is JR.

Call in now at 855-212-4CBS. A big shout out, so much love to all the healthcare workers listening all over the country. Folks in the hospitals, folks in the ambulance, people on call trying to take care of people's health and keep them safe. And shout outs to everybody on the other end of that.

People who are in the process of receiving treatment, people who are trying to get better. Hopefully, my silly ass here on the radio can spell you just a little bit of fun for a short amount of time. Hopefully for a long time.

All the best to you. 855-212-4CBS, we got this hockey game still going on. The Panthers and the Hurricanes are still tied at 2-all in the third overtime. About 12 minutes left in the third overtime.

They are just destined to go out here and play forever in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals of the Stanley Cup playoffs. We know tonight in the Western Conference Finals for the NBA, the Denver Nuggets, they came out on top over the Lakers 108 to 103. Anthony Davis not able to replicate even a portion of what he did in Game 1 where he went for 40 and 10. Tonight, 18 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists, but Anthony Davis went 4 of 15 from the field. Pretty pathetic. Anthony Davis, he spoke after the game and he was asked, you played like garbage man.

How you feeling and what happened? Listen to what Anthony Davis had to say. Eddie, you made the 1-3 and then you had the two other looks there. What did you think about those shots that you got down the stretch and just overall, you're coming off 40, your efficiency wasn't there the way it was in Game 1? I like both of the looks. I made the first, second one was back rim and the next one in the same exact spot, rims in and out. I liked all the looks that I got today.

Just a lot of them was short. I'm going to continue to shoot those shots and I gotta be better, more efficient, help the team win. I'll be better. Lakers come back to win Game 3 at home. Anthony Davis puts up, I don't know, 28-30 and 10 or 12 with like 4 or 5 blocks. Some nonsense like that.

The inconsistencies amongst many of these players just absolutely maddening. 855-2124 CBS. Mike is calling from Washington. You're on CBS Sports Radio.

Go ahead Mike, please. Hey JR, thanks for taking my call. Appreciate it. I listen to you almost every night when I'm on the road working so I appreciate you being on the radio keeping us abreast of everything. Abreast of everything.

Sure. So my comments is I want to touch on LeBron. I am late 50s, you're old.

I'm late 50s. Been an NBA fan right up until when MJ, the Bad Boys, Bulls, the Celtics all were beating each other up. Then it got all too fast and quick and just no defense whatsoever. Then LeBron came out.

Oh the king, the king, the king. Okay, well he can go ahead, be the all-time scorer, all-time assist. He can hold all kinds of records he wants but you cannot be the GOAT. There's only one GOAT and that GOAT is 6-0. So I just wanted to put that out there because I know I've been listening tonight and I know some callers have been calling up saying they're tired of everybody beating up LeBron.

Well okay, I understand that. He's getting over his age, he's getting old, got it. And out of how many years he's been in the NBA, I think I've only watched maybe a total of one quarter of his whole career.

It's not that I hate him, it's just I have no thrill of watching him. It goes along with the football. Everybody talks about Brady being the GOAT. Well how many times he's been in the playoffs, the Super Bowl? There's only one GOAT to me for the NFL and that's Joe Montana, 4-0.

So what do you think about that? I think there's different levels to greatness. I certainly believe Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player I've seen but I'm not gonna ring that or hold it over his head because of championships. If I want to go ahead and just look at titles and championships and the amount of rings, then I might as well just say Bill Russell is the greatest of all time.

You know, greatness comes in different eras and I don't think it always surrounds championships. There are things that LeBron James has done and is continuing to do that Michael Jordan never done that happens to be just ridiculously impressive. And there are things that Michael Jordan has done, you certainly name the 6-0, that's not going to be the case for LeBron James.

There's different ways to skin a cat and I think it's about appreciating the greatness of either one of these dudes. So I certainly hold the opinion I would take a Michael Jordan over LeBron but I'm not gonna sit here and bash LeBron because I feel strong about Michael Jordan. I can look at both and say well damn Michael Jordan didn't do this and he didn't do this and he didn't do this and I gotta tell you it's real easy for a lot of folks to look at only finals appearances and not look at like full playoff records and resumes. There were plenty of times where LeBron James went to the finals where maybe he shouldn't have even been there and took an L. Where in the same case of Michael Jordan, how many times did he have to get smacked around and beat before he even got there?

You understand what I'm saying? Yes, he did get Jordan. No disrespect to LeBron, I'm not saying I despise him and none of that, I'm not saying that.

Great player, you know he'd been there done it. But let me ask you this, on a Thursday night where the Los Angeles Lakers lose, there is no conversation anywhere, not here, that has been where Michael Jordan has just been brought up as you know who's better or who's this. It's like why is this even a topic of conversation? I've just been sitting here listening to y'all and you know people are talking about how I guess that one caller was talking about all the online stuff being told, well don't go online. Okay well he was talking about trolls beating up on on LeBron and I told him Facebook is a waste of time which it is.

Yeah well I think for whatever reason there's still a lot of people on there yelling with strangers but I get what you're saying. Jordan had to take his lumps too man because remember he had to go to Riley. Yes I know but imagine would we be saying the same thing if he kind of dragged the Bulls all the way to the finals and lost?

I mean then he wouldn't be six to no because how about this he didn't even get there you know he was eliminated earlier before it so. Yeah and Alex today I was listening to a talk show you're talking about the greats that we're talking about nowadays at the NBA. Some of these guys that are considered the greats and I understand what you said your goat is 11-0 got it that's that's the goat I mean that's a big goat but they're talking about a lot of these earlier shows I was listening today before I came to work we're talking about some of these prime time players they've been in the league seven eight years nine years. Well well Mike I can't Mike well I can't and won't speak to anybody else's show because there ain't too much anything else I listen to I show up I do my show and I call it a day and one thing that I particularly don't like doing because I think it's a it's a it's fun it's it's great on tv it's good on radio the greatest of all time.

I hate the conversation I think it's overblown Mike that's why I say greatness comes in different forms and fashions and you got to appreciate it while it's in front of you otherwise it's gone. I appreciate you for calling from Washington thank you Mike. Thank you sir have a good night. You as well. LeBron had a he had a bad game tonight and still kept them alive.

Still kept them alive. Let's just bring out the the LeBron pinata everybody bring a bat. On the other side of the break we'll hear from LeBron again and oh my god Mike Malone he is playing just he's trying to motivate his guys through the media we're gonna hear Mike Malone complain.
