If you're feeling down and having trouble getting up in the morning, here's a tip. Brush your teeth.

That's it. Often when we wake up, our brains go into planning mode, which leads to overthinking and stress before our head even leaves the pillow. Something simple like brushing your teeth can break that cycle and jumpstart your day. This tip was brought to you by BetterHelp Online Therapy, which connects you with a licensed therapist via video, phone, or online chat. Visit BetterHelp.com slash positive and save 10% on your first month.

This is your operating system talking, not your computers or your phones, but your internal human operating system. I'm feeling a little overloaded. Here's how you can ease my stress. Close your eyes or softly gaze at something in front of you. Now inhale for four counts, exhale for six. Keep repeating.

Much better. Longer term, there's BetterHelp Online Therapy. They'll match us with the licensed therapist we can connect with via video, phone, or chat. Visit BetterHelp.com slash positive and save 10% on our first month. You're listening to the J.R. Sportbrief on CBS Sports Radio. And we are coming to you live from the Rocket Mortgage Studios.

When you need cash out of your home in a simple way to get it, rocket, rocket can. I'm going to be hanging out here with you for the next three hours. I hope you had a tremendous Tuesday if you didn't. I'm sorry. It's terrible.

It's awful. I'll try my best to help you out. No guarantees, but I'll try my best. I get started though at 10 p.m. Eastern Time, 7 p.m. Pacific. And thank you to everybody listening all across North America. All my friends on the free Odyssey app, A-U-D-A-C-Y. If you are technologically inclined, which I think most of us are, the Odyssey app is the way to go.

Hit pause, hit rewind. If you call me up, you can listen to yourself after. It's good stuff. Thank you to everybody listening on our many CBS Sports Radio affiliates.

Fans and tickets and scores. Just all over the country. I appreciate you. I hope you're safe. I hope you're well wherever you're at.

You can always listen on Sirius X. I'm Channel 158 and if you happen to have a smart speaker, I don't know how you get its attention, but all you have to do is ask it to play CBS Sports Radio. I'm being joined by super producer and host, Dave Shepherd. More importantly, I'm being joined by you, the listeners. There is no show without you. So in this season of thanks, and I certainly don't say thank you only between damn it Thanksgiving and Christmas, but thank you.

I really appreciate you listening. We open up the show by taking a look at the college football playoff. We know what the rankings are right now. We got Georgia at number one, Michigan at number two. After beating up Ohio State, a TCU has slid up to number three.

God bless them. And USC has decided to slide all the way up into the fourth spot. And USC can cement itself in that fourth spot by beating the only team that beat them this season, the Utes. So we open up the show by talking about the college football playoff. Right before we went to break, we listened to Jeff Saturday do an about face from his comments last night. Well, I didn't, I didn't call a time out because I thought we had enough time and, and all of a sudden today he's just like, well, on second thought I, it was just a learning experience.

Yeah. Yeah, we know Jeff Saturday. This is why Jeff, Jeffersay or Earsay, whatever you call him.

That's why the hell he hired you just to be an experiment for the rest of the year. What a sham that is. I feel bad for the Colts fans. But anyway, as we continue on with the show, I'm going to tell you about two individuals.

Maybe you feel bad for, maybe you don't. We'll talk about Tom Brady and LeBron James in a second for the rest of the show. We're going to get into team USA soccer. Yes, I said team USA soccer, the United States men's national soccer team because they beat Iran today. They moved out, they're moving on into the knockout stages of the World Cup. But more importantly, man, this World Cup is basically a disaster. Not because of the football, because of the country, some of the questions, the players in Iran. I don't know if they're going to be able to go home safe and threatening their wives and their kids if they lose. It's, it's crazy folks.

We'll talk about that. Speaking of crazy, Odell Beckham Jr. He can do no wrong in the eyes of the Dallas Cowboys. Jerry Jones wants him by any means necessary.

I would say that Jerry Jones would go out there and sell his left. Nevermind 855-2124 CBS. That's 855-2124 CBS. I'm going to take some of your calls and then we're going to talk about two individuals who you might really, really feel bad for or maybe you don't.

It's LeBron and Brady. James is calling from LA. You're on CBS Sports Radio.

Hey, Jerry. Hey, you know, you and ship always man, top of the line and appreciate everything you're doing for people and you know what I'm saying? Like you said, you guys inspire other people to do it. So I love that about y'all, man.

Hey, listen, you know, I mean, you feel like guy. I make no qualms about that, but I'm glad the West Coast. We're finally getting our respect in there. So I guess if I got a route for USC to get in there. Wait a minute.

Wait, wait a minute. You're a fan of UCLA. Oh big time and you're going to root. You're going to root for USC. I'm rooting for the West Coast.

Oh, okay. Wow, more so than USC. Well, my, my, my, my thing is no one wants to play them right now as much as I hate to say it. They're the scariest team in the country. Does any with anybody really be surprised if they upset Georgia? I wouldn't. No, no, I mean they Georgia Georgia's if they're one crux is if you want to say their offensive firepower is it's probably not the part they have to rely on the defense.

Yes, you're correct. I agree. And how hard is it to win back to back? I mean saving, you know, did it but you know, everybody ain't saving so we'll see what happens. I mean if you see if they want to be in Utah, which they should know avenge that loss and I was like, what was that a one-point one-point loss one-point game man. Again, you see what we did to Utah. You see what UCLA did to okay.

My big question is hold on. I gotta be honest here James a lot of what you said to me is now invalid after you said you're just rooting for the West Coast man. That's that's almost sacrilegious for you to tell me that you love UCLA, but you're going to rule the USC because it's the West because we never get our respect man. I still think that there's an East Coast kind of bias things are changing now because this is 2022. So things are starting to get different but for the longest time, you know, the USC with all of the last time we got in there with Pete Carroll and Reggie Bush. Yeah, well tell well tell them not to give Reggie Bush cars and houses under the table.

I mean, what do you do here? Well real quick. Let me get you with this and I'm not I know you got other topics to do. Yes, if USC and TCU both lose this game. Oh my God and Bama and Bama and Ohio State and Bama would get in wouldn't they if Bama wins on Saturday. I believe I believe Ohio State would probably be first in we have. Okay, and then you have one other spot you tell me Bama wouldn't take that.

Well, I'm trying to avoid Alabama moving into anything. So I agree. I agree. I mean you heard what I did you hear me last hour? No, not really.

I mean often I just I just kind of turned it on. All right. Well, we opened up the show talking about Nick Saban a matter of fact, let's let's hear Nick Saban after they won the Iron Bowl over the weekend. He's just he's just hoping that something nice can happen for him.

Listen to this. All right, if the dominoes continue to fall on your way. Do you think Alabama deserves to be in the college football playoffs? Oh, you know, that's not for me to say I love our team.

I wish we had the opportunity but you know would hope hopefully we'll get one. We'll see. I hope not James. Does that answer you? He's pitching it blaming.

You heard did you hear you heard what I said James? I hope not. Yeah. Yeah, I agree.

I agree. But let's let's reality though. Tell me reality.

Hey, hey, no, my reality is that I hope he doesn't get in. Can we leave it there, James? Let's leave it there.

Let's see what happens after the weekend, man. Well, the James James is trying to slip all this positivity in there. Thank you, James. Have a blessing.

But you too. I hope Nick Saban doesn't. Anyway, eight five five two one two four CBS.

That's eight five five two one two four CBS. Nick Saban isn't the only legendary loser in the world of sports right now. This is a beautiful, beautiful thing about sports. Just anything in life. You win some, you lose some. Some people win more than others. Some people listen to the highest of highs. And some people unfortunately have to sink and live in the lowest of lows. Some people never experience being all the way at the top. Nobody sits at the top forever. Nobody. I don't care if you're a boxer.

You get knocked down. You don't even win every round. I don't care if you're the New York Yankees. The Yankee fans drive me nuts. They sit at the top almost every damn year. You don't win a championship every year.

Nobody does. And two of the greatest athletes that you will ever see in your lifetime. They sit at the top of the all time rankings of greats, man, but they getting punched right now. I'm talking about LeBron James and Tom Brady. First of all, Tom Brady is not supposed to be playing no football right now. I get it.

It's 2022. You can't hit anybody. Tom Brady doesn't eat tomatoes, so his body will last forever.

Or whatever the hell his TB 12 diet says. It's offensive line is crap right now. He's getting hit.

He's being rushed. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are five and six. I don't care who is on the Browns. I don't care who's coming back to the Browns.

Hi, Deshaun. Talk about that some other time. Those women are going to watch him play football. OK, sheesh. You heard about that, Shep?

I did not know the women, the lawyer who represented some of the women are going to watch Deshaun in his first game back. OK, I get that. Yep, I heard about that. We'll get there. We'll get we'll save that for some other time. Not sticking with percent.

We'll talk about that some other time. For Tom Brady. I can tell you who doesn't want to watch Tom Brady.

Well, maybe she doesn't care anymore because they're divorced. But Tom Brady is going through the ring of this year. Forty five years old retires, comes back. Offensive line is crap. You got guys getting hurt. Tristan Wirfs just went down. He just is absolutely miserable.

I don't get it. Tom Brady. What else is there for him to play for?

Numbers, records, a championship. It wasn't going to happen this year, I guess, with Todd Bowles. I mean, after losing to the Browns, it's just he sounds like he needs a cigarette.

But you know, Tom Brady doesn't smoke a cigarette. Of course not. Listen to this. Just didn't score enough points, you know, so 17 points isn't going to do it. And that's basically what we've been doing all year. So we just got to. Yeah, it's like the same thing, you know, had a chance, you know, give them a lot of credit. They made some real clutch plays.

Fourth down completion for the touchdown was a great play. But we had our chances. You know, we just didn't make the plays and they did. That's a lot of you knows from Tom Brady, you know, we just came to the game, you know, we didn't do it. We didn't get the job done, you know, and we just think, you know, when Todd Bowles can't coach, you know, and I should have stayed home, you know, maybe I'd still have my wife, you know, he sounds like a juvenile record. Some of you know what I'm just talking about, but it's OK. Tom Brady is. He sees going through it right now.

What else is there for him to do? Tom Brady last year. I'm watching that game against the Rams. I'm like, I know damn well Tom Brady is not going to go back to another NFC championship game.

It's not going to happen. And then it did it. The Rams held on. They went and they went to the Super Bowl and God bless them. And I guess Tom Brady said, oh, man, I was so close to going back again.

I have to try again. How many times is Tom Brady going to try before he walks away? Can't play forever. He's also someone who has, what, three hundred and fifty three hundred and seventy million dollars coming his way from Fox. The minute he decides to retire, here's Tom Brady on your television for 10 years at thirty seven million dollars a pop. Man, I retire tomorrow. Tom Brady is still out here getting his ass whooped by 23 year olds. Maybe this is something that he likes.

God bless him. It's just sad. They'll still go to the playoffs because the NFC South stinks. Panthers.

Trash. Saints can't score. Falcons are just they're here.

They're there. Come on. Marcus Mariota is a starting QB. Come on now.

What else can I say? Tom Brady is feeling it. Can you imagine Tom Brady going into the first round of the playoffs and just losing? And then what does he decide at the end of the year to hang him up? What a way to go out. Should have left last year, man.

Nobody would feel any different about you. Tom Brady got it bad right now. Somebody else who has it bad. And this took place last night while we were here on the air. The Los Angeles Lakers had a 17 point lead in the fourth quarter against a young Indiana Pacers squad. The Lakers had a chance and opportunity to move a little bit closer to 500 but they fall to 7 and 12 a buzzer beater by a rookie in front of LeBron James in his face.

116 to 115 the Pacers come out on top. And LeBron James. He's still one of the greatest of all time. He's still one of the best players. He's on his way to having more points than anyone in NBA history. He scored 21 points last night. Not the best of games.

Three of 10 from downtown. But when he plays. Still getting a job done. 25 points a game. Eight rebounds.

Six assists. LeBron James is not LeBron James from 10 years ago or even seven years ago or dating back to the bubble. We can throw that back two years ago. But he's still one of the best in the game. He's still a leader. He can still be the best player I believe on a championship if he has excellent All-Star talent around him.

That's a lot of gaps to fill in. Because not even the great LeBron James can go backwards. Ain't no fountain of youth for LeBron James. It's not Space Jam.

There's no Mike's Special Sauce or whatever the hell put they put in that drink. And by the way, LeBron Space Jam it stunk. But he's going through it too right now with the Lakers. At least Russell Westbrook isn't getting beat up like he was last year.

He had to be demoted to the bench. He has Patrick Beverly on his team who might as well average zero points. Anthony Davis is one slip and fall away from being out for the season.

He slips and he falls quite frequently. And LeBron James must get up in the morning and go, Who the hell am I playing with? Can you get me out of here?

Can we get somebody in the building to help save this situation? The Lakers. Yeah, the Los Angeles Lakers with LeBron James and Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook are 7 and 12. Who would have thought?

This isn't the Miami Heat with LeBron and Wade and Bosch trying to figure things out. Russell Westbrook is one foot out the door. He's at the end of his career.

You got LeBron James. I don't know how long he's playing. He turns 38 at the end of this month. He's at the end of his career.

He might be able to play with his son. But this year is crap. I mean, after the loss last night to the Pacers where they blew a 17 point lead. If you thought that Tom Brady sounded miserable.

Decide for yourself. What does LeBron sound like? I just got to finish the game. You know, everything has to go wrong in order for you to lose a game like that and everything went wrong. And he took the hat off to Indiana. They kept fighting. They kept pushing.

Everything went wrong. Isn't that what's going on for the Los Angeles Lakers right now? Think about this for a second. If the Los Angeles Lakers are complete trash the rest of this year. Which is likely unless they have some type of miracle.

I don't see that happening. Who's come to the Lakers? What superstar is going to say, send me to Los Angeles?

Is it Kevin Durant? What are they sending back? The New Orleans Pelicans have their draft pick.

I know it's it's a it's a far off fairy tale. Could you imagine? The Lakers get the number one overall pick and.

Victor when Benyama. Goes to the Pelicans. It's not going to happen, but if it did. I'd have me a couple of drinks. Just just to laugh.

Just to go. What are the odds that that would happen? And so LeBron James is here at the end of his career. At his current pace, he's about 40 games away from passing Kareem Abdul Jabbar for most points scored in the regular season.

All time flat period. He already scored more points than anybody in NBA history, but that includes the postseason. But this season is terrible.

His teammates are awful. There's a good chance that the Lakers might not make the playoffs and there's no saving this roster unless there's a miracle. Unless Michael Jordan pops out of a time warp and in 1996 and says, I'll help you guys out.

That's not happening. And Tom Brady, you can forget about it. Give it another month and a half and Tom Brady season in the NFL will be over. Two old legends.

Awful seasons here at the end. By the time we get to February, Tom Brady might be done. We might never see him play football again. LeBron James, he will continue on. LeBron James, he wants to play with his sons. LeBron James, he wants to make money. LeBron James. He wants to keep things rolling. He signed a contract extension.

He ain't giving up his 50 per. Who has it worse? Is it LeBron James right now? Is it Tom Brady? I would say Brady is in a worse situation. He's a legend. Greatest quarterback of all time. You can't take that away from him.

But if you have to think about the now. He was conflicted in retirement. Unfortunately, the man is having to deal with personal strife and divorce. He has to play for a team that he's just being just being manhandled behind the line because his line stinks. And this might be it for Tom Brady. And if he comes back, is he going to be on top? Would he come back and be for the Bucks? The NBA is such an isolation driven sport. So much could change at any minute.

A trade, someone disgruntled. There's going to be hope for LeBron James for the rest of his career, whatever that looks like. He still has some miles left in him. And Tom Brady? Yeah, he can still play too, but we know the end is the end is near and we're watching it right now.

So who has it worse this minute? I'd have to say Tom Brady. Because this man came back. To this. To get his ass kicked and potentially be eliminated in the first round of the playoffs behind a shoddy offensive line. Tom Brady would have been better off staying at home, at least with LeBron James.

There are a few more boxes to tick into the future and a few more milestones to hit. 8 5 5 2 1 2 for CBS. That's 8 5 5 2 1 2 for CBS. LeBron James and Tom Brady are both having terrible seasons.

If you have to look at their current situations, not their legacies in whole, but their current situations and what the future may hold. Who has it worse? Is it Brady?

Or LeBron? I think it's the man down in Tampa. I'm going to take your calls on the other side. It's the J.R. sport brief show CBS Sports Radio. You're listening to the J.R. sport brief on CBS Sports Radio.

Hey, what's up, J.R.? I agree with you. I like your show because I tend to disagree, but tonight I agree. Call in now at 8 5 5 2 1 2 for CBS. Well, that's fine.

We're all entitled to our own opinions, right? 8 5 5 2 1 2 for CBS. That's 8 5 5 2 1 2 for CBS. Right before we went to break, we took a look at two legends in the world right now. You got Tom Brady on a five and six Buccaneers team, 45 years old, behind a shoddy offensive line.

Only at the top of his division because the rest of the NFC South stinks. He retired. He decided to un-retire. He's had to deal with his own personal life, with a divorce. It's just it's just sad.

He sounds sad. And LeBron James is getting ready to turn 38 years old. He's on a squad and on a team right now that is seven and 12.

They blew a 17 point lead in the fourth quarter last night against the Indiana Pacers. And it's just he's going to have to snap his fingers and hope that another Hall of Famer or legend or superstar joins him in Los Angeles. He has 50 million dollars coming for the next couple of years.

He wants to play with his kids. Two legends. End of their careers.

Just going through it right now. At least LeBron is going to continue on. At least he still has more, you know, boxes to check and accomplishments to make. And who knows? Maybe he has another championship. Is he going to be the best player on set team if he should get one?

Probably not. But he's still here. And so going through this season, if if you look at the now and what the future might hold, then you know, who's going through it even more? It's it's probably Tom Brady. He's older. He's at the end. We might see him never again.

If he comes back, if on another team, you know, who says that that team is is going to move forward? It's just sad with Tom Brady right now. All of his amazing accomplishments. And this has just been a trying year.

I don't care how much money you make. This is it's got to be sad. 8 5 5 2 1 2 for CBS. Tom Brady. LeBron James.

Who has it the worst right now? Mike is calling from Chicago. You're on CBS Sports Radio.

Hey there. I just want to say that Tom Brady is a legend. He's goat NFL and I don't think he's going to have a problem after this year retiring. I think LeBron is going to drag down like Michael Jordan did. Back in the years. And you know, when he went for the Bulls to the Wizards and then the management stuff like that.

I think that is going to drag down for LeBron a lot longer and Tom Brady Tom Brady. I think he's going to cut his ties. You know, he's got TV 12 and all that going on and he loves golf. I don't see a problem there. Okay.

Well, thank you Mike for calling from Chicago. He loves golf. Okay.

All right. I know Tom Brady. He sells think he sells Tom Brady hoodies for like a hundred dollars a pop.

I've never seen a human being in a Tom Brady hoodie, but I guess Tom Brady loves golf. Look, I don't know if I compare the end of Michael Jordan's career to the end of LeBron's. It's two different scenarios and and LeBron James didn't retire. He's not coming back. He's not being old. He's none of that. I don't know if there's a comparison there.

I don't think so. Allen is calling up from Toronto. You're on CBS Sports Radio. What's up, Allen? JR, you're being a little bit too harsh on Brady. You know, he's 45 years old. What do you expect?

I mean, you know, it's amazing that he's even playing. You know, then he tests the birdie. Well, let me ask you a better help. Slow down. Well, slow down, Alan. Sure. Okay. I'm slowly.

Thank you. What am I? What have I said? That's too harsh on Tom Brady.

I think everything that I've said is accurate. He's if he doesn't win a Super Bowl. So what he's playing with house money. You're not you're avoiding the issue. The issue is that he's playing with house money. He should not even be playing now. And his legacy is set.

That's another issue that you're avoiding, too. His legacy is set. And he's a 45-year-old. What do you expect? You can't expect him to be like he was five, ten years ago. Russell Wilson. That's the one that you should be criticizing.

This I would complain about. The Broncos are 3-8. And Brady has better numbers than Russell. He has a 92.4 quarterback rating and Russell has an 83.3 quarterback rating. So, you know, Russell, I'd say this is Russell. Okay.

All right. No, we understand. Well, we ain't talking about Russell Wilson. We know he's trash. He's garbage. He can't run.

He can't move. His team is 3-8. I don't need astronaut numbers to figure that one out, Alan. Okay.

All right. But Brady's numbers aren't too bad. He's got 14.

No, nobody will slow down. Who said his numbers were bad? See, this is I think I think you I think you're missing some things here, Alan. I made it very clear if you heard me. I talked about this man being the greatest quarterback of all time. I talked about his accomplishments and I said and I didn't say a negative word about him. I said his situation and what's taking place around him sucks. I made it very clear that the situation that the offensive line that what he's had to deal with this year stinks. Yeah, he has nothing to prove.

We all know that but I don't think he wants to go out this way. It's not about playing with house money. It's it. This is a difficult thing and I haven't experienced it. I don't think you have either but I've certainly heard and talked to many people about it.

It's knowing when to quit. Tom Brady isn't the first professional athlete and thank you Alan for calling from Toronto. Tom Brady isn't the first professional athlete that we've seen go through this.

My God, he isn't the upper echelon, but he is one of the best greatest big men of all time. His name is Patrick Ewing. You know how pathetic and sick that was to watch just old, tall, heavy Patrick Ewing put on an Orlando Magic jersey? Or a Seattle jersey?

Those things were ugly on Patrick Ewing. I love Hakeem Olajuwon. Love him. Love the man. Have met the man. Lovely guy. I love him. Thank God it wasn't young Hakeem.

He might have punched me in the face. But the fact is, do you remember Hakeem and those giant elbow pads and knee pads playing for the Toronto Raptors? That was ugly.

Didn't want to see it. Tom Brady switched jerseys. He put a Buccaneers jersey on. He won a championship. And then he came back.

And he didn't even go back to the championship game in the NFC. He got close, but he didn't. And then he said, I'm done. And then he's like, nah, I'm not done. Screw this crap.

I'm coming back. The situation sucks. It's not indicative of what Tom Brady has. How am I being too hard on him?

I've given a guy his credit, but the reality is, everything I said is true. It's terrible right now. And so what is he going to do? Come back again next year? Is he going to play for the Raiders? What is Tom Brady going to do? Play for the Dolphins? Is he going to displace Tua? Hell no. Not the way Tua's playing right now. We have no idea.

But we've seen this story before. Old quarterback, even though this one is absolutely great and can still play, old quarterback refuses to hang them up. Career ends on the downside.

Is that going to be Tom Brady? 855-212-4CBS. That's 855-212-4CBS. Bob is calling from Maryland. You're on CBS Sports Radio. Good evening, my friend.

I hope you had a nice holiday and a Thanksgiving and so forth in your family. I want to talk about Tom Brady. I give him credit for what he did on the field in football. He was offered, the offer is still there, $300 million to become a colored man on television. That's $300 million. And he turned that down. No, he didn't. It's just that $375 million is waiting for him.

That $375 million is waiting for him when he returns. Oh, yeah. It's still there.

The offer is still there. So his wife told him this year she had taken all this crap off of him for the last couple of years since he turned 40. She said it's either me and the boy and the kids or football. Which one did he choose? He chose football. He turned down his own family, his own wife, when she made the ultimatum. And what a lot of people don't know, as beautiful as she was and still is, she made in her career more money than he did. So she didn't marry him for his money. She didn't need it. I would back that lady 100, 1,000, you can't say 1,000 because you can't go higher than 100% in anything.

Right, right. But she is a, she thought of the family first. She, he did. Obviously he did because she, what do you have to do? He's got tons of millions of dollars he made on his own.

Nothing wrong with that. He did it legally and so forth. But he's a stupid joke for what he did to his kids. Okay, well Bob. She made it known that it was either her and the kids or the, what do you think he took those 11 days off doing spring training? He went back to his home to try to straighten it out with her.

She didn't want to hear it. Okay. All right, well thank you Bob. I got, okay, I said I had one final but I have one question.

We got a lot of people listening here all over North America. Can you quickly, and I ask you quickly, give us all some marital advice? Marital advice? Sure can. I was married for 44 years and my wife died on me 15 years ago. And I haven't remarried.

And I'm 85 years old. Okay. Is that good enough for you?

It is. What's the advice? Yeah, what is the advice? I love you Bob, what's the advice?

I told you my advice. You got one person, if you love that person, never, never forget to say at least to her, at least once a week or so, that you love her very, very much. You love her as much as now, after 44 years, as you did when you first met her.

That's right. Well thank you, thank you so much Bob. Never let her down.

Don't let anybody talk about her or hurt her. Alright. Well Bob, I appreciate you man. Thank you so much for the wisdom. Thank you. Thank you.

You never know what you're going to get folks. Thank you Bob. Call Tom Brady a jerk.

A stupid jerk. Choosing football over his family. Bob said it.

He didn't hear from Giselle. Giselle didn't call him that day but what am I going to argue with Bob for, right? You're listening to the JR Sport Brief on CBS Sports Radio. You're listening to the JR Sport Brief on CBS Sports Radio. Hey JR man, it's going to be cliche as a mug but a long time, long time listener. First time calling man and I appreciate your show big time. You have so much insight. I just want to give you props on that.

Call in now at 855-212-4CBS. It's the JR Sport Brief show here with you on CBS Sports Radio. Man, we've been talking about Lebron James and Tom Brady who has it worse. We're going to talk about the World Cup because that is just a, that's a crazy situation in and of itself. Congratulations to the United States men's national team. They advanced. I mean I never expect the damn thing out of them but losing but they have an opportunity moving on and they had to take on Iran to get it done. Just a lot of interesting stories surrounding the World Cup this year from Qatar to US and then Iran and then the Iranian players and then the threats that they've gotten.

It's a, it's a wild scenario so we're going to talk about that. We do have callers on the line, many of them with varying opinions about Tom Brady and Lebron. I think about the current situation of both stars and yes we know about their legacies but when you think about their current situations this year for Tom Brady has just been the pits. At least Lebron James has a little bit of hope here. And sure, one is older than the other while Lebron is getting ready to turn 38 at the end of this month and Tom Brady just turned 45 back in August but it's been a hell of a year for Brady and the situation that he's in right now.

I think he got it the worst. 855-212 for CBS at least Lebron can tick a couple of boxes here. Patrick is calling from Eugene in Oregon. You're on CBS Sports Radio. Yo, yo, hey man, I just want to say, hey, I love your show jar you are the best at late night, you're, you're good and tell Shep he's pretty good too.

He can hear you but I will go ahead. Alright, anyway, I want to say that Tom Brady, when he, you know, he was the number two quarterback Lebron was the face of a magazine. So like, what does that differ, like, you're nobody, but you're somebody. So, what does that make you the best. This is my only question bro. I don't understand your question. So, okay, so the bra, I don't know, I don't think I want to, you're telling me about something that took place.

20 years ago, we're talking about right now. Okay, well, we'll bring up there. Okay, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right. Oh, thank you. That was interesting. Jose is calling from San Diego you're on CBS Sports Radio Jose go ahead quickly.

Hey, how are you from San Diego. And I want to say that the person that calls earlier remember the one that was saying about Tom Brady and his family and how he left his family. One thing that he chose between his family and football is just that he's doing something that he loves. And when you're doing something that you love, you know, you want to keep doing it, and you want to do it not because it's a joke because he's definitely not doing it for the money. He's doing it for the accolades because he has the accolades, he's doing it because that's what he loves to do.

Okay, well Jose it sounds like you're calling me through a roll of toilet paper, but I got a final question for you, if you can answer me quickly. Okay, did he did he not really, if we have to really boil it down I don't know what happens in that man's house but did he not make a choice. Yeah, he made a choice. And what I'm saying is that, you know, the choices that he's doing something he loves it's kind of like, you know, you're, it's kind of like somebody trying to force you to retire you know there's people that are going to work for their 80 years old. Okay, they can retire at 62 right. Okay, but they, but they're doing something that they love, and Tom Brady is the greatest. Okay, probably cut three quarterbacks right now. No we yeah we he's doing something that he loves. Okay, sure he can still love his family so look, I'm not in his household. So I have no idea. We know life is all about choices.
