This is the Truth Network. Well, if there was a man that epitomizes success, it's the man that sits before me today. I'm talking about the host of The Christian Car Guy and Masculine Journey that airs on Truth Radio around the world at 10 a.m. to 12 noon Eastern each Saturday, produces a variety of other shows on the Truth Network, a pastor, runs a boot camp, serves at man camp, is a husband, a father, and a grandfather, but most important, he's a man of God and a lover of Jesus. Of course, if you hadn't figured it out by now, I'm talking about the one and only Robbie Dilmore. Robbie, great to have you on the Man Up show today. Oh, it's always one of my favorite things in the world to get to spend more time with you. Well, and a lot of times, and I appreciate you coming aboard today, a lot of times we've co-hosted a number of shows and had a wonderful time doing that, but I just felt prompted in my heart, not for you to co-host, but just for me to interview you, for you just to be on the Man Up show and be interviewed. No.
What an honor. I don't get any questions like, how many times? Well, I can't guarantee that.
Our holiday specials, you know, those kind of things. I can't guarantee that because usually if you're not familiar with the shows that Robbie and I have co-hosted on the Man Up show before, and I've been a guest on his show, on the Christian Car Guy, and I think masculine journey as well. And so, yeah, so I'm a history guy, I'm a researcher, so a lot of times I try to throw a little curve ball at Robbie and ask him a question that he may or may not know the answer to. But no, today I just felt led, I'm like, let's just talk, let's just have a conversation and let's just first talk about how long you've been with Truth Radio Network. I think are you the longest standing employee since Stu Epperson, the founder, launched this thing many years ago? Well, Anita Dean is technically the longest standing employee. She is on the light, not necessarily on the truth, but from truth broadcasting standpoint, she would be the oldest employee, but as far as a quote unquote truth employee, I would suppose I am, but I actually go back to the founding of the Truth Network in that Stu is one of my best friends for many years prior to him starting the Truth Network. And actually, when he had the idea to have a teaching and talk station in Winston Salem, he came to me.
I was one of the original sponsors because the dealership I owned at the time, you know, we sponsored the Truth Network and sponsored my pastor, Dr. Mark Quartz, with a show called Share Life that still airs to this day. And he's been with the Lord for probably 15, 20 years. Wow.
Wow. Because messages can be timeless, right? Reverend Billy Graham. Oh, yeah. I mean, you can watch a message of Reverend Graham's from 1959, and it's still be relevant because it's the Word of God, right?
So it can still be relevant today. Oh, he is, and it is, and it's a beautiful medium. I'm so honored that I get to be part of it, but yes, I've been part of Truth Network since it was Truth Network. Well, and speaking of one of the first sponsors, I know we were at lunch recently, and I think you had said, which speaks to, I guess, the word loyalty comes to mind. You know, you said you've known Stu Epperson long before he ever even launched Truth Radio Network, and he approached you to be one of the first sponsors. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you advertised on the network for seven years, and you mentioned being in car sales. Of course, you were promoting your car lot, but if I'm not mistaken, you never had one sale, but it never prevented you from monthly playing your advertisement and supporting the show, right?
Am I correct? Yeah, I supported the Truth Network across the whole network from the day it went on the air in one thousand nine hundred eighty eight. And yeah, I was more than proud to do that because I felt like, man, this thing is getting the Bible out. And you know, the word of God doesn't come back void.
And so, you know, if that's going out, what better could you invest in? You know, so that always seemed wonderful to me. But it is true that I never sold a car. And then one day, obviously, not obviously, but in two thousand six, when God called me to do the Christian Car Guy show, which is quite a story in all of itself. But when that happened, you know, I told Stu I wanted to drop all my advertising. I don't want to any more do that because that would be a conflict of interest because I wanted my show to be holy to help people, you know, with their cars and those kind of things. And fascinatingly, as soon as I started doing the Christian Car Guy show in two thousand six, see, we all went on the air in ninety eight, but they went on the air.
But in two thousand six, within two weeks of me doing the show, I started selling to three cars a week. And without mentioning once West Side Chrysler Dodge Jeep or the fact that I sold cars or anything like that, I was just God's way of winking at me, but also to show me, you know, the power of what he was doing. Well, and here's here's my takeaway on that.
And for those of you out there in Listening Land. So you were sewing, sewing, sewing, sewing, sewing all those years. And the Bible says, you know, some people say, well, you know, you reap what you sow.
I had a mentor by the name of Jim Rohn, who used to always say, that's not true. You actually reap more than you sow. Oh, yeah. You might sow one apple seed, but you're not just going to get one apple in return.
You're going to get who knows how many apples full of seeds. Right. So the point there being the the fact that you then began to sell two or three cars a week in my mind, Robbie is like, yeah, you said the Lord winking at you, but also you again being faithful to invest in Stu's vision, which you said this at lunchtime, too. And for those out there listening, hey, we're always, by the way, just a little side note, you know, if you're a business owner or you just have a desire to want to sponsor a show, whether it's Christian Car Guy, The Masculine Journey, The Man Up Show, hello, and be a sponsor advertiser of your business. Here's the key thing you said, my key takeaway from what you said at lunch that day, that the people who typically come aboard, really, they come aboard not so much obviously we're going to promote their product or promote their service. And so, you know, that message is going to get out there.
But more importantly, you said they really kind of buy into your vision or Truth Network's vision and passion and want to get the word of God out there and get God's message out there that in one sense overshadows whatever payback or return on investment they make it. Is that is that accurate? Fair to say it's so cool, Nikita. It really is. And I never would have guessed, you know, what I invested then I've taken gotten back.
You name any way you want to measure it. Oh, my gosh. Well, what God has blessed me with, I have sown the wind and I have reaped a whirlwind of blessing.
I mean, seriously. But, you know, just a couple of stories that I think really illustrate it is, you know, just recently, OK, we had a listener that contacted the network, was struggling to had stage four lymphoma and needed prayer and that kind of thing. And Michael said, well, it sounds like he needs a pastor, Robbie, why don't you contact him, you know? And so I started texting him honestly, didn't answer my text, tried calling him. He didn't he didn't answer my calls, but, you know, about three weeks later, I get a text that like, man, I'm sorry, I didn't respond, but, you know, I love the network. I'm so thankful that you contacted me. And I just want to tell you how much I appreciate that you you take the time to love on me. And it really means a lot. And, you know, it's a nice little text. So I tried calling him again, didn't answer text to again. No response. And I thought, well, OK, you know, God, whatever you're doing well about a week ago, two weeks ago, Wednesday night.
I'm trying to pick up the youth and I'm about lost out in the Randolph County, you know, in the boondocks trying to find the kids. All of a sudden I get a text from from this listener and says, man, I God has put it on my heart. I have to be baptized. I, I desperately need to be baptized.
How much does it cost? Wow. And I said, well, you're in luck, buddy. I said this Sunday, all you can dunk for free.
And so I love it. I said, if you're willing to drive to Ashboro, buddy, I said we were we're going to have a baptism just for you. And so I set it up for, you know, our services at eleven o'clock or I was going to do the baptism right at the very beginning. I said, please, please, please. And you being a Lombardi guy kind of time, you would understand. I said, right, you've got to show up 15 minutes early because I got to, you know, talk to you about your testimony.
And I got to go through some things with you to make sure you how to do it and all that. You know, please, if you want to make ten thirty, that would be even better. Well, no, Sunday morning in your past, you're in your mind, you're trying to organize this service and ten thirty comes. He's not there. Ten forty five comes. He's not there.
Ten minutes to, you know, five minutes, eleven o'clock. He's not there. I text him. I'm like, are you are you coming on your way?
Right. And all of a sudden I get this at our address is on your Ari street in Ashboro, eight thirty one your Ari street. And he says, Robbie, I'm in the ash. I'm in the the Urari National Park, which is a long way. He said. It says I'm I'm 30 minutes away.
And I'm thinking, if you're the Urari National Forest, man, dude, you're for 20 minutes. I said, but you come on. You are going down when you get here.
But yeah, that's right. So I, I ask one of our ushers out there. I said, do you wait? I said, well, he gets here because he's going to be worried to come in that late. I said, do you you you welcome him with our ushers right in.
I don't care when what he's got coming in. So, man, sure enough, like I'm finishing up the sermon and I'm like, man, he's what am I going to do? And here he comes. Wow. He made it. Here he comes.
And just it's just it's a beautiful thing to show. I'm just thinking the courage. This guy's never. He doesn't know me. He's never seen me face to face. He does not know this congregation at all. Obviously, obviously, you know, new to the church experience based on the fact he was wondering how much it costs and he had the courage to walk in there. OK, so. But I had told my wife, I said, knowing my church, if I say there's a baptism, I said, as soon as I go back towards a baptismal, somebody is going to be standing there in their swim trunks in a towel, want to be baptized and it always happens.
And sure enough, there was no the young man there waiting to get back. You know, in comes this listener and he's going to get baptized and the Holy Spirit said to me, and I love the way you follow spirit, Nick, and I do, too. And all these spirit says, why don't you ask him if after the service you can anoint him with oil and lay hands on him since I, too, had lymphoma.
Right. And that was a instrumental thing and how I, you know, was was healed through my lymphoma. And so I said, would that be OK with you? And he said, oh, I would love that. And so it's funny, he said, would you mind holding me down for a good while, because I feel like there's a lot that needs to get.
I'll be up at some point, but go ahead and yeah, make sure this takes us just in true Nikita fashion. I accommodated him, but it was, you know, I love, love, love that. What an honor it always is. And I know you get a kick out of that, too, is to see what God's going to do there. And so the part that I that I don't want to miss out on one of the blessings of Truth Network. Right.
Because this guy came from the Truth Network. All this happened as a result of of that ministry. And what God was doing in his life. And so, you know, I went and dried off, changed pants, you know, before I was going to go annoying him with oil. He walks into the sanctuary dripping soaking wet and it's just dripping off him.
But it don't matter, man. So I come up there and I was like, OK, anybody wants to, you know, I mean, the deacons, if they want to come lay hands on on this gentleman and everybody, you know that. And man, they keep the whole church like every I'd like if you could see this movement of the spirit, like, oh, my soul, like it was a miracle. It was an absolute miracle. And not only that, they all came, but you had to hear the prayer. I mean, it was it was absolutely phenomenal. And the part that I knew the Holy Spirit was all over it was the crying and the sobbing and the tears. And it was just it was it was if you didn't come away from that feeling, God, I don't know. You just it's just an amazing thing.

Have I reaped to see God's hand? You know, it wasn't just in that man's life. It was in everybody at the church's life that day or, you know, or, you know, countless other things.
I could tell you. Yeah. It just illustrates the power of, you know, some people, you know, whether it's radio podcasting, whatever it is, the power of the airwaves, right, that that prompted and led him eventually for you guys to meet face to face.
You know, take a minute, Rob. You mentioned because that's another powerful story that you're a cancer survivor. You mentioned the lymphoma. How long ago was that? And that's quite a quite a miracle story in and of itself. How long ago was that?
And they just give a little snapshot. That's kind of cool when you think about it. The truth broadcasting went on the air in nineteen ninety eight. I was diagnosed with lymphoma in nineteen ninety six. And again, Stu was one of my good friends at the point in time, one of the people praying for me then. But nonetheless, I had what was called cutaneous T cell lymphoma, which this particular type they labeled as killer cell lymphoma.
And when my sister worked at the University of Michigan Hospital at the time and she was so helpful, she says, Robbie, there's only ever been two people with this particular kind of cancer in the US and neither one of them lived, you know, past a couple months. Come on. Wow. And so I've had my full attention.
I would say I would say and anyone anyone's attention. But yes, so and the way it presented itself was I had tumors in my skin that were just flat. They didn't hurt. But just and there were literally hundreds of them, hundreds of of these on my arms and my legs and all over my midsection and all sorts, just all these tumors.
And I sort of looked like a freak, OK, from my own standpoint, I was, you know, whatever I had, it didn't look good. And so I was back in my office. I still worked at the dealership.
This was in Winston-Salem at the time. And one day we're working in and a pastor by the name of Richard Little came in. Wonderful, wonderful man of God. And he says to my finance manager, the Lord told me there was somebody here that needs to be healed.
And and Joe Balls, my finance manager, says, oh, that's got to be Robbie Dilmore. He's back in his office. He's got lymphoma.
You know, they think he could be dying. And so here comes this now, I understand I came to Christ in 1991, not terribly far from when you did. OK. Yeah. And so and I had not like I'd gone to Calvary Baptist Church and the little conservative. I had not really experienced, you know, anointing of oil and laying out of hands. James five, 16, by the way, for those of you out there listening land.
James Chapter five, verse 15, 14, 15, 16. So anyway, so yeah, I'm sure that was a little foreign to you, so extremely like I thought I really thought, yeah, this guy's not. But it's OK. I mean, he's here. He's praying over me.
He says the Lord sent him. I'm good with that. Like you do whatever you need to do. But this is weird. And so he did that. And such a wonderful spirited man, you know, and all I know is this was on a Friday.
Yeah. And he prayed his prayer and he anointed me and I felt something like, man, that something happened here. And, you know, you knew that I knew that explain it. But you knew something happened. Something happened. But of course, a lot of people are praying and, you know, who knows how God does it. I'm sure Pastor Little would tell you that it was God that healed me and how he worked at work.
Right. And so that was a Friday. Monday morning, I was supposed to start my chemotherapy treatment. And when I woke up, I understand this was pretty visible that I had cancer. Like it wasn't like I wonder if I have cancer.
You would see it everywhere. Right. And every single tumor, they were all gone.
Every one of them. And in fact, I can remember I'm taking all kinds of pictures and they went in and did biopsies to see what in the world happened because they'd never seen any. Couldn't explain it.
We can, but doctors couldn't explain. And so it's what the biopsies told them was essentially the cancer turned on itself and ate itself. And that was very miraculous. So 1996, so almost 30 years ago, that that had happened and just an encouragement. I wanted, Robin, to share some of that story with you as an encouragement to you, whether you have a loved one that's maybe sick and ill or going through something and or you yourself are. And God is still in the miracle working business. At the end of the day, I've had lots of friends and family, in fact, just had a call the other day from one of my spiritual mentors, spiritual fathers, who just lost his brother and was tore up about it, obviously, as he should be. But we both agreed at the end of the day, his brother's no longer suffering.
He got his ultimate healing in that particular case. So Robbie, there's a million stories I know you have and you could tell. And of course, I want to encourage people, if you're not familiar with the Christian Car Guy show, don't be misled by the title. Robbie was in the car business and Robbie loves Christ, hence the Christian Car Guy. But it's not about selling cars and all that. I'll keep it kind of in suspense. You go listen to the show because the format of the show will be, I think, a complete surprise to you when you hear the show.
And of course, Masculine Journey kind of speaks for itself. Multiple hats, I mentioned in the introduction, you're currently pastor in church over to Asheboro, North Carolina, but let's talk for a couple of minutes. We just got a few minutes left here. Take a minute, talk about your boot camp that you run and of course, you come and serve on Manned Camp and people have heard lots of conversations about that. But what do you guys do at the boot camp?
Who can come and what's that all about? Yeah, that's an amazing thing. For those who might be familiar with John Eldridge's book, Wild at Heart, he began realizing that it's the heart and what you teach so well, especially for men, well, it's actually for everybody. Yeah. Right.
But but a lot of men are not so free to get into their heart. Right. To open that up. Right.
Yeah. And so I was so blessed to get invited to one of these, actually, with my connection with Truth Broadcasting, that they were advertising their boot camp. And so, you know, they didn't get a lot of people to come to that boot camp.
And so I always say it was a mercy date, like I'm going to come to their boot camp because they spent money with us and I want them to have at least somebody to go represent. And I really didn't expect to have all that kind of experience. But not unlike you with your first Manned Camp experience with that type of experience, like Oh, my goodness, I had no idea what God had for me there, what an impact it would have and changing my life, especially changing my life when it came to addictions to sin that I was involved in.
You know, a lot of stuff that a lot of people aren't free to mention, but I'll just say it was sexual stuff. And it was it was inappropriate, especially for a man of God, especially for somebody that was in ministry, and like, Oh, my goodness, like the changes in my life, the changes in my ministry, especially the changes in my relationship with God told me, man, what God has done for me through these boot camps. Yeah, I would be so honored to take part in helping any other man to be able to do. And so, you know, certainly that led to I guess, we started those night 2011. So many, many years of doing boot camp. So we still do one like we do Manned Camp, one of the spring, one of the fall, one of the fall. And then Nick came on board and I came to Manned Camp in the spring of whatever it was at twenty one, I think, or now it was twenty two. And then I got a chance to, you know, come staff and that ended up being more than amazing. And so I'm really, really excited because I'm going to be back this fall at Manned Camp as well. And again, the idea is here you got a week. You know, let me just say that the thing I love about Manned Camp is that you have more days to chase after the heart of God and spend time alone with him.
Just it's amazing. And he's the one that's going to change the heart and the heart is what we're going to own after. So.
So just to recap. So you go to your you go to that boot camp. God heals you, sets you free of different addictions and things, you know, bondages, things you were in bondage to.
He set you free. You come back, you compile a group of men together and now you host these boot camps in North Carolina. What's the website? If they want to get more information on the masculine journey radio or just masculine journey dot com.
Or you can go to masculine journey radio dot com either one will get their masculine journey dot com. And that's a little shorter in its duration than the Manned Camp itself, which if you want more information on that, go to Koloff dot net and and you can click over to the link there for the Manned Camp. And and you have been instrumental. I want I want to come experience boot camp from for myself, just, you know, not take all the hats off and just receive. And it was incredible. Then you did an advanced boot camp and I want to go to that as well.
So I set that time aside. It was incredible encounter and and and I have since done 80 plus of these camps that I have facilitated since 2006 at different parts of the country. We currently do it now in Georgia, Lex Luger, one of my former wrestling buddies, is partnered, you might say, with me, does some of the teachings. And of course, you know, you as one of the staff and ministers and teachers and have been just so valuable to to be a great we're grateful to have you a part of it. And and then to see what you're doing through boot camp, if if you're a woman out there with a special man in your life, I just want to encourage you, whether ideally send them to both. When I say send, give them your blessing. Don't browbeat them. Don't get the stick out and just encourage them, ladies, encourage them to consider one or the other or both. You know, one could be a starter starting point and the other can can just add add on.
Right. Any any last thoughts, Robbie, on on the idea of the wilderness? One, you know, God did some amazing work in 40 years with the with the with the Israelites in the wilderness. And the idea of the key idea to me of both man camp and boot camp is, yes, there's people giving talks, but but the real the real deal is you're given very specific times to go take some things to God in prayer and you're given instructions on how to begin to hear the voice of God and how to begin to really enter further into that relationship with God. And if somebody can come out of one of those camps with an improved relationship with God, then mission accomplished, like God will do that. God will do what he needs to do in your life. But you know, we all have to push into that place of holiness, which is actually a wonderful place to be.
Yeah. Our our you know, we have things we're going to do at camp, but our as a staff at either one or the overall arching goal is to stay out of God's way and let God, let God do what he does best. And that's change and transform the heart of a man. And so I just want to encourage you if this conversation today, whether it's Robbie's testimonies and stories of how his life has been touched, changed and transformed or talking about boot camp or man camp, and again, if you're a man out there and something we've said today is piqued your interest, go to masculine journey.com correct masculine journey dot com colaf dot net. Check out you. You'll see you'll get information, but more than anything, if God's tugging on your heart to set that time aside and go and participate in one of those, I feel confident, very confident to say you will, as Robbie made reference to, you will encounter, you'll encounter Jesus and, and your family, or even if you're single, you'll go home and you really won't even have to say a word.
People, people will see changes in you. So obviously we talked a lot about ministries and stories, but husband, father, grandfather, man of God, lover of Jesus, you've probably already gathered the fact that Robbie is a lover of Jesus. And so grateful to have you on today, Robbie Dilmore.
Oh, it's always blessed. Thank you. Thank you.
