Call, well, you get a personal call from me, the Russian nightmare, and get to ask me, ask me what's burning on your heart, what you always want to know about me or about wrestling or about something, about anything.

I never know what's going to be asked.

So, but with me today in studio, I have in studio, that's always an extra added blessing, Scott Reed. Welcome to QA with Koloff. Man, I'm excited. Thank you. Yeah, it's great to have you here.

And I can't wait to hear what you have for me. We met actually just more, I guess, back towards the beginning of the year at the North Carolina Roundtable. In Charlotte, yes. In Charlotte, yeah. And a prayer movement spurred on by Tanya Skelly and John Whaley, as well as others.

And because we just made a connection there. And I'm intrigued by what you're doing out there in the world. You've got a ministry. 121 Inc. Yeah.

That's an interesting title for a ministry, Scott. Yeah, it's the 121 verses. We just love them. Come on.

Well, and it's based on several scriptural verses, right? Right. Basically. Mostly it is Philippians 121. To receive Christ, I mean, excuse me, to live as Christ, to die is gained.

And that has just grabbed me because eventually you serve him long enough, the page turns and you become like Peter. When Jesus, he gives that hard teaching, and it says many people stopped following him. And he looks at his disciples and he says, Are you going to leave me too? And Peter says, Okay. Where are we going to go?

Yeah, yeah. You have the words of life. And so I think what Paul is talking about in 121 is a page-turned life. There is nothing else. That's good.

That's good. And once you come to that revelation, you might say, or that understanding, you can fully embrace that, right? Yeah. And so 121 is about discipling through domestic missions.

Now, I'm all familiar with foreign missions because I've been on many mission trips. Sure. Actually, I'll say chaperone. I think the youth minister actually looked at me as security, but he gave me the fancy title of you're our chaperone. I like it.

Yeah, yeah. And, you know, back when my older daughters, Taryn and Tawny, and we're going on mission trips and stuff. And so, you know, I went overseas, went to Singapore, Moldova, near my former motherland. You know, my former home. Yeah.

Wink, wink, wink. Got it. Moldova, Bogota, Colombia are just some of the places. Wow. Yeah, on mission.

But you have domestic missions. Yeah. Tell us about that.

Well here's the thing, these days, according to those mission reports, The US is in the US is now in the number one need. For missionaries. For missionaries. We're actually becoming a destination for missionaries. And for clarity, for our listeners out there, that's not God saying, I need to raise up missionaries in America.

That's saying America needs missionaries to come. God needs missionaries to come to America to evangelize America. Because statistically, especially with these younger generations, although there seems to be a real move among the Gen Z, but there's a gap there, right? Gen Z, yeah. There is the gap that does seem to exist between the millennial and the lower end of the X.

The X is, I think, largely the forgotten generation because X can be either when it comes to that spectrum, but definitely millennial. And a large chunk of the Z, Z is turning. Mm-hmm. But let's not let's not lose it. Right.

There's still a lot missing there. And then of course Gen Alpha is coming up underneath them and Gen Alpha's turning on. Everybody's talking Gen Z right now, but what they're missing is Gen Z is in college and they're about to start families. They're starting families. Gen Alpha is where we really need to be paying attention.

So you work with Youth and College students. Youth and college students. Specifically, I like to work with youth pastors.

Okay. To bring their groups out for domestic missions apart from partner up with you. Yes.

Okay. So we want to take them and their group out. To help us, and we will take them to what we do: we do youth camps for children's homes and rescue missions.

So and we do this in in the shape of a tour.

So we've got five legs that are available between now and The end of next summer. And we're really looking to fill three legs for next summer. Summer of 2026. Yep. And so on each of those legs, each leg is 13 days long.

And you need three youth groups, basically. Basically, three youth groups.

Okay. And we will take as many as we will never take more than 32 because it's too many. And we can take a smaller group as 10. Uh the sweet spot is like 23.

Okay. I know that's an odd number, but we just find that just works really well. But with that said, the first five days is intense. Discipleship.

So you go into a city or into one of these homes? Yes.

Okay. So, what we do is the first five days we do all our training from Venice, Florida. We just have relationships there, so we have a house. that we all pile into. And everything.

It's it's um it's very interactive learning. and we're pushing their buttons. And it gets very personal. I'll say it, it's hard. It's intentionally hard.

but it brings us together and they're going to learn things about themselves. and we're going to teach them what it means to communicate with kids from their culture. Then from out of those first five days, then we're going to go to two separate either a children's home or a rescue mission.

Well, we're going to go to each one for three days, and over that three days, we will get in five worship gatherings. in multiple organized activities with the students who live At these homes. And again, the students who live there are not there because mom and dad are dad. Mom or dad might be in jail, abject poverty. They've been adjudicated.

They've been in some sort of trouble. Uh it literally runs the gamut. And so these students that we're bringing out of these churches, they're going to have the opportunity to learn how to share the gospel with them, to learn how to befriend them. To learn how to love on them, to learn how to be real and authentic around them, because what's going to happen is this: when they get home. They go to their public school.

or anything that that's out in their community, they're going to rub up against kids who would qualify to live at one of these places. Just aren't there, or at least yet. They haven't gotten there yet, but I'll guarantee you they're marginalized. Yeah. Yeah.

If we don't teach our students, how to live the gospel there. Those generations are going to be lost.

So, so these, these, these, they are real, who you're ministering to are. Really qualify as troubled teens, and/or the youngest that you minister to? What'd you say? It runs the gamut. We're going to be at the Orlando Union Rescue Mission in December.

They've got 60 single moms and single dads living in residence on campus. They've got small children all the way up to teenagers. And we're going to do three days at youth camp. for them because these are things these are young mothers who have had their childhood They've lost it. And it's a chance to come back in and to let them maybe be a kid, even as a mom, for a few days and to love on them.

in a way that they just haven't been loved on, and to be treated as a peer Just beautiful things come out of it. Just amazing stories come out of it. There'll be some places where we go where it's just going to be teenagers. Most group homes are always, always teenagers, usually 12 all the way up to about 18. Give us a quick sto uh success story.

Ah, we were at a home in Lakeland, Florida. And we had been going there for many years and pulled up on campus. And one of the house parents that we just absolutely love, he comes up to me, grabs me and he goes, We need to agree on something. I was like, Well, yes, sir, what's that? And he goes, I've got a young girl.

She's been here for two weeks, and she is an evangelistic atheist. She is driving us crazy.

Okay. Um But she's going to be here tonight. She doesn't have a choice because when a cottage attends, the whole cottage has to be there.

So she showed up that night, and he wasn't kidding. She sat in the back corner, wouldn't sit with anybody. She had her hoodie on over her forehead, and she was not happy to be there. Fast forward to day three. In the middle of the day, we do this thing.

Occasionally, we'll bring it. It's a prayer journey. It's pick up, touch, and feel. It takes you about 45 minutes to work your way through it. One of the parts of it is a 32 foot long white sheet.

and we got it lit with black light. and you have a fluorescent marker. and you're just encouraged just to graffiti your heart to the Lord. on this banner. You can draw something, you can write something.

Well, she comes walking up, and all of the kids, the students we bring, we have actually stationed at all these stations, and they're praying over students. Like I said, it's very hands-on.

So she comes to work her way through the prayer journey.

Now, that prayer journey is everything from working through forgiveness. Um taking communion. You're actually picking up crown of thorns and nails, and it's very intensive. She gets to that part, and I'm not gonna hide from you. I was a little nervous.

'Cause I didn't know what she was gonna put. On our prayer banner. I thought, oh man, I confess, I had to confess to the Lord and repent later because I was like, oh man, I'm already thinking, how do we cover up what she's going to put on it? Mm-hmm. Yeah.

Yeah, fair enough. I mean, yeah.

So she spends forever there. I still have a picture of it. And she left. Thankfully, she was the last one to the prayer journey. Our whole team just dropped what they were doing and spread it over to see what she had put on it.

This is what she wrote. Before today, I did not believe in you. But today I do. And Jesus, I'm so sorry for my sin. Mm.

And I want to be yours. Yeah. And there it was under the black light, illuminated. Yeah. to our teens.

Mm-hmm. Because one of the biggest things we want to do on this tour is we want to come back to believing in the power of our message. I want every kid who goes with us, every youth pastor who goes with us, I want their confidence in the gospel to grow. They need to believe. that it can do exactly what it says it can do.

Yeah. It's one thing just to read about it, but it's another thing to put feet to it, right, or take action with it.

So it's amazing work you're doing, Scott. And where do people go to find? Like if there's a pastor, a youth pastor, or youth group out there that are looking for something to do next summer, how do they find out more about you? Where do they go? Just go to our website.

We have a contact page there and look over the Circle Journey. But the website is. O N E Two one dot life. That's O N E two one dot life. All of the information you need is there.

And listen, we have a group coming all the way out from Portland, Oregon in December.

So we will host and take a group from anywhere. And we can work with you to make sure that we get all the logistics covered. But my contact is on there. You can contact me. We will share a coffee.

We will share a Zoom. We'll share a phone call. Whatever we need to do, I will coach you. And I've been traveling with teams. for almost 30 years.

And if you're a young youth pastor and you've never taken your kids out anywhere, this will be a great skill for you to learn. What a great opportunity. And so we will coach you and walk you through the process of taking your kids out. Wow. Well, I want you to check that out.

Check that website out. Again, if you're a pastor, youth pastor, part of a youth group, and what Scott has shared today really intrigues you and want your youth group to be a part of something like this in ministering to troubled teens and really seeing some success stories like the one he just shared about this young lady. It is QA with Kolov, Scott, so I guess we should segue and transition to whatever questions, a couple questions that you would have for me.

So, uh, Let's roll. What do you got for me? What's the first one you got for me? Oh, man.

Well, I've got to say, years ago, I had seen your postcard. And I did a double take. You know, I was like, what what? And you know this now as a believer. You get excited.

Yeah. It's just, you're just encouraged to get it.

Well, you didn't know because I had become a follower of Christ. And why would I? But so, really, my question is: this: where were you in your career? When conviction started. To hit.

Mm. It's a good question. Good way to phrase the question too. Because I, you know, I... You know, a little bit of the backstory, a little bit of the back quick backstory is, you know, growing up in Minnesota, you know, I was the youngest of four, single mom, speaking of single moms.

If we went to church at all, I remember when we lived in the projects in Minneapolis. Going at your, you know, Easter, Christmas, call them CEOs, right? Christmas and Easter only. CEOs, Christmas and Easter only. That's as much as you're going to see that family right there.

And that was us. When we moved out to the suburbs, out to Robbinsdale, we just didn't go anymore. Like my mom didn't drive. She never had a license, lived to be 93, never had a driver's license. We took Minneapolis Transit everywhere, the bus.

Wow. We bused anywhere and everywhere. If we were going to go, if we needed a ride, it was the bus. That's cold. Right?

To get to a bus. Literally, literally cold. I mean, Minnesota in the wintertime, waiting at the bus stop for a bus was really cold. Couldn't do it. Yeah, really cold.

Well, I had to do it, so I did it. And church wasn't an option. It just wasn't something we did. It just wasn't something we did. And so I wasn't raised up in a Christian home or anything like that.

But that's not to say that there is not a point in time where I didn't believe there was a God. Right, right. I just didn't know him. I knew of him.

Well, some communist you were. Right. Right. I was. That's right.

The Russian nightmare. All right.

Sorry. Actually, believed in God.

So the Russian nightmare believed in God. And so it wasn't till Scottel after my career.

So, and I'll sprinkle in to say there were times along the journey. I was exposed to gospel, exposed to the message, knew the message. I like to say, it just never made the 18-inch trip from my head down to my heart, right? Until the age of 34. And it was about 11 months after I left wrestling.

And so part of that journey was after I left wrestling, I'm like, is this it? You know, and in a sense, this is all there is. I mean, you know, I become this world champion of wrestling, you know, and all the accolades that go along with that, but something's still missing. Yeah. And so along that journey, I met a Christian couple through some other business ventures who had invited me to their church.

And 17 October 1993, that story made the 18-inch trip. From my head down to my heart.

So it wasn't like I was set free and delivered from drugs or alcohol or a troubled teen or like the ones you're working with. It was just I was out doing my own thing, but had a revelation during 1993 that something was missing. And in October of 93, the revelation of what that something was, and that was a personal relationship with Jesus. And so went to the altar that day. I'm only 11 months off television, surrender my life to Christ, and I've never looked back.

It's been. Incredible journey ever since.

Well, and man, just follow up as I'm listening to your story.

Okay. Um I can't imagine. The lifestyle shock it is to go from arenas.

So that's just So there's that. Um I'm curious. Which of your fellow wrestlers. Did you open up to first?

So great question. And I didn't see the like so I leave in November of 92. Uh-huh. uh really disconnect from the business. Come to Christ in 93.

And I'm on this path. I'm an all-in kind of guy.

So I'm all in, you know, mission trips, foreign mission trips. You're doing domestic mission. I'm doing foreign mission trips, and I'm going to help build construction, help build churches and Bible schools, and chaperoning my daughters for their overseas missions and all that. And so fast forward to December of 90 So now it's been three plus years that I'd seen any of the guys. That's incredible.

I'd actually, believe it or not, shaved off the Fu Manchu mustache, grew out my hair. I had a mullet, Scott. I had a mullet. That's glorious. Complete picture look.

Yeah. I probably have pictures out there. There are pictures out there. We're like, man, that's really you.

So I was going to go down to the arena just to say hi to all the guys. See all the guys, say hi to all the guys. And one of the first guys I cornered, I like to say I threw up Jesus all over him for about 30 minutes was Sting. No way. The icon Sting.

Yes.

And to the point where he's like, dude, I've got to go get ready for my match, man. And I said to him, Scott, I said, we're going to continue this conversation. He told me later, later, he walked away going, oh, no, we're not. Like, he had heard enough. It had enough, heard enough.

Yeah, but famous last words, right? Yes.

Because then I found out three years later, 98, I had heard that he had given his life to Christ.

So I'm like, yes, hopefully I planted a couple seeds.

Well, I mean, I've just heard these stories trickling out. There's a number of those guys that were there with you that have come to Jesus. Yep. So I had, so the Stinger also in 95, so that was in 95. In 95, I had invited my old communist partner, Uncle Ibun.

Uncle Ibun. I had invited Ivan to a revival in Concord, North Carolina. No way. Didn't know he, I gave him the information, didn't know that he would come. I was hopeful, but I didn't know he would.

And uh a couple of nights after I made that phone call, didn't even know he was there until I saw him at the altar. No way. And he's standing at the altar, gets radically saved. That night, Scott, he's delivered of, set free of drug addiction. Alcohol, tobacco addiction.

No, I don't know another cuss word ever came out of his mouth after that. He went out to become an ordained minister, married a ton of people. Meet people all the time and go, Ivan married us, man. I'm like, that's amazing.

Okay, this is news to me. I've not even heard this. Yeah, yeah. No, Ivan was sold out, man. Like, everywhere he went, he'd carry his Bible, just set it on the table, and just wait for somebody to make a comment about the Bible, and then he would then share his story, you know.

But so, Ivan, the Road Warriors. No way. I had a role in a role in the Road Warriors in their faith journey when Lex Luger, right here in the banner, and Lex gave his life to Christ in April of 06. The Lord reunited him and I after 11-year absence in Arizona at a Christian athletes conference in June of 06. Cool as that.

Yeah, so reunited us together to where we've done tons and tons. We do these man camps together, tons of ministry together over the years.

So those just a handful, a few of the guys I've had the privilege of somehow having some role in their coming to faith. I just love the ripples that have come out from that. Because I know there's others who're not mentioning, was it Blanchard? Tully Blanchard.

Now, and interestingly enough, quick side note on Tully, he and I were riding to an independent little independent show. We were actually going to, it was an indie show, so we were actually going to work against each other, but was up in West Virginia or somewhere in Ohio or so.

So we were going to ride together, not drive separately, right? Right. And he shared his whole testimony on the drive up, right? He had gotten radically saved. And he's sharing his whole testimony.

And in my mind, I'm just listening. I'm like, oh, you know, in my mind, I'm like, well, I'm happy for you, Tully. That's awesome. That was it.

So that was like, it was the reverse sting moment for you. Like, you were giving him the sting treatment?

Well, but I was captured. I was in his car. Oh, yeah. There was no way to go. I had no getting out.

That's how you do it. And I had to get a ride home. That night.

So, so, you know, so Tully did witness to me, you know, and share his testimony. And I had heard a little bit about it, but I heard it firsthand from him, right? I love it. Ted DiBiase, you know, was one of the early conversions. Yeah.

He was one of those guys who was good at being bad. He was so good at being bad. He was.

So Tully and Ted were a couple of the earlier conversions. And then I think I was probably close to next. And then from there, you know, I just kind of accelerated it. And you know, when you see that. Because that's not um Yeah.

You don't hear a lot of that. I mean, for that to ripple through that. Community that you guys had. Yeah. That's a God thing.

Because people ask me, they go, you know, you know, did you, you know, were you following Christ back here wrestling? The furthest thing from it. You know, I'm like, right. And Jesus wasn't talked about in our dressing rooms. Yeah, he wasn't talked about right.

No, I don't. If his name came up, it wasn't in a good light. Let me just say it that way. You know what? When I met you, I went back through.

I didn't tell you this. I went back through because YouTube is glorious. Yeah, you got everything. I went back through and I was like, all right, I've got to go back and relive my childhood here. And they have all these old matches.

And I was just transfixed for. For like, I totally doom scrolled for three days. Right, right, right. No, yeah. But so you look at that, and then the.

You know, and I'm I'm grateful for that opportunity that the I I believe the Lord gave me, even though I wasn't serving him. Yeah. And now how he uses it for his glory as a platform to go out and, you know, still do autograph signings and that sort of thing.

So. Oh, totally. I mean, that Now the same token. There were and still are, like, especially some of the guys we worked with. That still deny Christ and/or mock what I do or what other guys do, you know, lacks another.

And that's just part of. It's part of it, right? That's life anywhere. It's life anywhere. And so we're hopeful.

You know, I'm praying for guys, you know. I bet you are. You know, Rick Flair. I mean, I'm praying. Rick's are the plan of salvation, but Rick is still stuck in being the champ.

And so I'll just, by name, for all our listeners out there, if you're a Christ follower and a believer, you know, pray for Rick. Pray for Rick's salvation, you know.

So there are guys that we're still praying for. For those that are praying, like, say, for Rick. Don't pray for him because he's going to be given a platform. No, just for her. Pray for him because his soul.

Yeah, just pray for her soul. And pray for her. And you could attest to this. There was so much healing.

Well And there was a whole quality of life given to you. Peace, peace beyond understanding. And so when you're praying for a Ric Flair. Yeah. Remember what it is you're praying for.

Yeah. That's good. Yeah. That's good, Scott. Yeah, because, yeah, it just breaks my heart.

You know, I've been around. I was at, I saw Rick at Sting's retirement match, and I drove, I remember driving home that night, and my heart literally, after seeing him up close and personal, my heart literally, my heart was breaking for him on that drive home that night, you know. And yeah, and I see stuff that he posts and things that he says. And he was recently at Hulk Hogan's funeral. I heard some comments he made there about the funeral and about the pastor.

And I'm like, man, that's just, it breaks my heart.

So, anyway, well, we're about out of time. I hate to cut you off or cut you short. I'm having a good time. Thank you. Hopefully, the couple questions you asked were fun for you.

No, this was glorious. I loved it. Awesome.

Well, good.

Well, we'll end this show there, and we'll just have to have you back another time. Is that fair enough? Anytime. I live close.

Okay. Just bring me over. You are close. You're just down the road. Yeah.

And the fact that the man-up show, you got people have to go over and listen to the story on the man-up show and more of your story over there. And I'm just taken aback by the fact that your family's been in the Carolinas and the Winston-Salem area since the 1700s. I'm still trying to absorb that one. I'm like, wait, what? That's like several hundred years.

So you, but let me ask you this before we sign off.

So you don't, but so how many generations would that be though? Like, roughly? I'm trying to think about it. I'm thinking back. I mean, 10, 15, 20 years ago.

It's weird. My family came over as German Lutherans and they landed in Broadbay, Maine in the 1730s.

Okay. They had a land deal, fell through, met up with a group of Moravians who said, Hey, we have land down in this thing in the Carolinas called the Wachovia Tract. Let's go. They converted to the Moravians because Moravians were just going to love it on. Everybody who were from Germany, too, right?

So, half of the Reeds went out west, my half came. Came down. They were actually shipwrecked on the way down, but still made it to the Wachovia Tract. And then they received their land grant for what was to become the Broadbay Tract, which was freedomoravian, which is all a part of that Winston-Salem plan. Yes.

Or the Salem plan. And so. Set up settlement. Yeah, so in fact, the first grave at Free the Moravian Church, we had the dubious distinction of being it. But really?

Yeah, so it's like I can't. First gravestone.

So I can go over there. Of course, Moravians, they're all flat. They don't do raised anything. Yeah. But very humble people.

So, in fact, the house that I'm living in was built by my great-great-grandfather as a shack for his aging. Father. Wow. And what's happened is, is every 10 years or 15 years, they were like, okay, we're going to burn this thing down. We're done with it.

And another part, so somebody needy would be like, we need a house. And so they would get it. And so I was the latest, my wife and I were the latest needy couple. Let me just pass down from generation to generation.

So, somehow, this one house that was never meant to survive has survived. Yep. Now, that's incredible, Scott. Scott Reed, 121 Ministries, man. Give the website one more time, Scott.

O-N-E-21.life.
