This is the Truth Network. Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is set for one floor. Introduce purse. Lithuania, he weighs 100 and What do you think? The Russian Nightmare.

Nakita! Welcome to another episode, QA with Cole Off, The Devil's Nightmare. Welcome back to another episode, QA with Koloff Questions and Answers. This is always an extra special treat when I have somebody in studio because many times, as you know, and being faithful listeners to the show, a lot of times I'm calling somebody and ringing them up, and the Russian Nightmare has a conversation, and you get to ask me a few questions that you've always wanted to know, or maybe you didn't want to know. But either way, you get to ask me some questions.

But in studio today with me, Bill Hitchcock, welcome to the QA.

Well, thank you. Glad to be here.

Well, it's great to have you here. You're not too far down the road.

Now, are you officially in Kannapolis, North Carolina? Where do you call home? Yes, that's correct. It's the big city of Enochville.

Okay, Enochville. Yes. One stoplight. We have one stoplight. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I think I heard you say recently: ever since they put that one stoplight in, you've Had more accidents in that intersection than before there was a light there. That is absolutely correct. You hear the fire engines going down there all the time now. One stoplight, more accidents than ever before. And I probably shouldn't ask, but wasn't it like a million and a half dollars or something to put that stoplight in or something crazy?

I'm sure it was, yeah. A lot of money. I know Joshua was up on all that.

Okay, maybe he was the one that quoted a million-something dollars to put one stoplight in.

So, okay, well, we'll blow past that and we'll keep going here today.

So you're down at Enochville, and of course, that's what you call home. And I know you were telling me, how long have you been married? 45 years. 45 years. Well, congratulations on that, Bill.

In today's world, that's an incredible milestone. And so, and you got two kids, yeah? Yeah, Jonathan, 40 and Amanda, 35, and two grandkids. And two grandkids.

Now, do they live around the Kannapolis area? My son does. Amanda just recently moved, so she's out of state now.

Okay. And just to briefly touch on, and I want to make sure you go over to the man up show. It's time to man up to hear more of Bill's story, full story. But your wife's a cancer survivor. Correct.

Yeah. july twentieth, twenty sixteen, she was diagnosed with Stage four metastatic breast cancer. Metastatic meaning it's moved from the breast to the bones. Um Life expectancy less than twenty-five percent make it uh five years.

So God has done a miraculous job through many people praying for her. And uh obviously 2016 is nine years ago, so She's doing well for every test and every Medical procedure she goes through that shows nothing new.

So praise God. That's great. What a great testimony to the marriage. What a great testimony to the healing powers of God, even in the midst of a tragedy like cancer. And so incredible story.

Yeah, and people need to know, you know, when. Jesus Christ ascended, went back to heaven. He said, I'm leaving you something more powerful than me.

Well, Jesus Christ did miracles all the time. Uh blind men, whatever, pick up your your mat and wok. Uh You know, we have that power available to us, guys, and girls, ladies, men. and we need to call upon it more often. And I I pray with my wife daily Um You know, Jesus Christ has done a miraculous work in her.

her health. And and and in in your life and in your family. Again, I'm going to send you over to uh to the man up show to get the full story. But uh, you know, you are uh uh a hundred percent Correct, right? When we got that to lean into, to lean into Jesus, right?

That whole story. That Holy Spirit, I mean, we've. We got that power, and so many of us don't access it, and we feel helpless. We're not helpless. And go as a last resort.

Correct. To God instead of a first resort. Absolutely. Absolutely. And of course, you attend, speaking of that, you attend He's Alive Church there in Kannapolis, North Carolina.

Pastor Mark and Pastor Bill, kind of co-pastor there at He's Alive. And you're a man camp alumni. Yes. Was the man camp experience for you good? Oh, put you on the spot.

It was life-changing. Absolutely life-changing. Um Yeah, I it just um The time that you get to spend with God in those woods. by yourself and just Let God just hug on you and pour over you is is It's it's priceless. I recommend any man that is struggling with anything.

Get to that man camp, cause God will. God wants your heart and he will certainly Definitely soften her up a little. You'll meet him there. And hey, for the record, we don't just stick you in the woods by yourself for the whole time you're there. There are times of fellowship, times of food, times of worship, times of teaching.

What he's referring to is we do give you some designated quiet time and want you to get out into God's creation there. We do it at a camp in Royston, Georgia, about a hundred-acre camp down there. I've been doing these camps there for years and years and years. I've been doing camps for 19 years. I've been doing them there at Camp Little Light in Royston for, I don't know, 12, 15 years.

I lose track of time, but I know you and many of the men at your church have been greatly impacted by it and continue to send more men that now come, which is amazing. Yeah, obviously there's an enemy out there that doesn't want you to go.

So, yeah, you're good. You don't need. To go. You're in a good place, right?

So, um. despite what you're thinking Uh God wants your heart, and he will certainly soften it up there at mancamp. Yeah, that's all. Mancamp.info, if you want more information, mancamp.info, mancamp.info, go check it out. We do it every spring, every fall, April and October.

That's it. The Total Package, Lex Luger, was part of the visionary with me and launching these man camps and does some of the teachings there as well. If you're a wrestling fan and you know that name, the Total Package, you might even get to meet and see Lex Luger there. One other thing before we get to some questions that you might have for me, Bill, speaking of wrestling, that's racing, racing and wrestling.

Now, I didn't fully understand or know that you were a major part of NASCAR, had actually won a few races way back when, I guess, out on the West Coast, and then eventually came to the East Coast with bigger dreams. Yes, that's absolutely. Absolutely correct. I loaded up the wife and kids and after 1981, 1982, I was the Northwest NASCAR late model sportsman champion two years in a row. And I had visions of grandeur.

I wanted to. Uh you know, the world view of success is more, more, more.

So You have to step up in class.

So, obviously, I wanted to move back here and try and drive. And I mean, realistically I probably came back too old. I mean I should have should have been back here when I was like fourteen, fifty and not thirty, so This kind of young man sport in a way, I mean, you do have to start young, right? And then kind of build your way up typically or traditionally. I started racing go-karts at 12, which is even that's probably too old.

But I had great success on the west coast and. Um The youth part Is it takes so long to get the connections you need? And it takes years. The only other way that you can. quickly get into a car as if you have money behind you.

Well, obviously I didn't have that, so I needed the years To show people that I could drive while I ran out of time, more or less.

Okay. Well, and you just bring up an illustrated point of once again, that old, what popped in my head immediately was: it's not what you know, it's who you know, right? And you just kind of made me think of that: that in that sport, or really in life in general, if you want to advance, You know, it's about who you know. And so you have these visions of grandeur, and but. At some point, God really grabs hold hold of your heart.

And we won't go into that full story because we'll save that and kind of tease our audience for the man up show. But God gets hold of your heart, changes your direction and your motivation and vision for your life. And what are you involved in now? Like currently? Are you involved in men's ministry or what are you doing right now?

Uh, right now I uh lead a life group at He's Alive Church.

Okay. And and I am unofficially the maintenance man at He's Alive Church. We need those. Those are needed.

Okay. Um, you know, uh A pastor told me one time that you're never more humble than when you're cleaning a toilet. Right, right. You know, uh I've changed many toilet seats at church.

So you know, it's it's somebody's got to do it servant servanthood and and uh go in with a humble heart. And and I get called upon multiple times to Do whatever's needed, and I thoroughly enjoy it. I love it. I love. Being from a mechanic, auto racing type background, I'm a fixer.

And uh what you alluded to earlier The realization that I couldn't fix my marriage.

So, yeah, that's the teaser for the man up show, yes. If you want to hear a great story of redemption and reconciliation, then you go listen to Bill Hitchcock. Go to the archives. Go listen to that show and you are going to be blessed. Especially maybe you're even in the midst of a marital trial right now, presently, currently, and are looking for answers.

So I want to encourage you to go over there. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. Yeah. Nikita Koloff here, and I am excited. Did you hear the huge announcement, the big announcement?

Well, maybe it's a minor announcement. Anyway, Facebook, go look up my new fan page, Nikita Koloff Fans, and like it. and follow today. I don't know where to keep. If you are a business owner and would like to advertise your company or product on the Man Up Show and/or Q ⁇ A with Koloff.

Well, Bill, it is Q ⁇ A with Koloff. And I I'm going to I guess put you on the spot now and have you throw a question or two my way. And of course, it can be about anything. And I have no idea what you might ask, but throw something my way. What do you got for me?

I'm kind of drawing a blank, to be honest. Uh I guess The um wrestling that you are involved in and obviously similar with me trying to be successful in NASCAR. that realization at one point that the hole in your heart is God shaped. and not worldly shape. Like worldly success Mm-hmm.

Temporary. Temporary and It never lasts. Right. It just, you have to reach another rung on the ladder to move up. And then you need the bigger house and the bigger car and the trophy wife and this and that.

And you're never reaching. Never satisfied, are you? Correct. Yeah. So I don't know if that's a question, but or can I relate to it?

Can I relate to that? Can you relate with your wrestling? I can. With what you shared with your story and trying to, I'll phrase it this way: trying to grab the brass ring, like, right? Like, hey, I just want to be in that NASCAR winner's circle and spinning my car in a circle and, you know, and everyone oohing it on over me.

And yeah. Specifically, to that emptiness inside and what we try to fill it with. Correct. Whether it's a NASCAR championship or world wrestling, world. WWE world title or WCW back in my day or NWA or whatever it was.

I 100% will say, you know, you look for the roar of the crowd, right? If you're the good guy, you want the roar of the crowd. If you're the bad guy, you want to boom you out of the building, you know, and that's the pinnacle, right? But at the end of the night, all those sounds come to a conclusion, come to an end, and then you got to wake up the next day and look for the next thrill. Correct.

So whether it's. Whether it's racing or wrestling or anything else, corporate America wanting to climb the corporate ladder, maybe those rungs and become the CEO or COO or a bigger payday as an employee, right? For some, unfortunately, they maybe turn to drugs or turn to alcohol or turn to pornography or all these other things, thinking. Believing that's going to fill the void. Correct.

But as you know, And as I found out, At the end of the day, There's only one thing and one thing only that's going to truly fill that void. And that's a personal relationship With Jesus Christ. Amen. That's it. And I love how you phrase that: that God-shaped hole in your heart.

Because there's maybe somebody out there right now listening to this show and been trying to chase the brass ring. Oh, absolutely. Trying to climb the corporate ladder, trying to, you know, win that championship title or whatever else. Fill in the blank, right? Exactly.

It can be tennis, it can be. you know, whatever of And sadly, uh You know, power is another one. We chase after power, we chase after sex, we porn, all the alcohol, all these addictions. And we're trying to fill that hole with something that's not meant to go there. Yeah.

Our Creator, Jesus Christ, is meant to fill that hole. And you said it at best it is but temporary and it may be satisfying but for the moment But you're still empty at the end of the day. No, that's a great question.

So I'm glad you drew a blank on that one, Bill. It was a blank.

Well, see if you got another blank for me. Oh, I got to have two. Oh. I guess How did you come to Christ? Did, like for me, I was completely broken.

I'm just curious. Like You know, people always say, You know, pe non-believers will say a Christian is perfect. And they've got it so wrong. Christians are all broken. And we need the the soothing balm of Jesus Christ on our wounds.

And so I guess my question would be Did God use experiences to break you Hmm. you know, world champion. 'Cause I look at Nikita Koloff and see an unbelievable man of God. And I don't look at my racing career, it's almost like it's in the past and gone. And I don't know if you look at your wrestling the same way where God has got a hold of your heart, and now you're on a completely different trajectory.

Okay. No, it's a good question. Basically, what I'm hearing is, you know, what led me to the foot of the cross? And knowing some of your story that it was, you know, when you say you were broken, it was the marriage and unraveling that eventually more or less led you, and that emptiness inside of you that led you to the foot of the cross that ultimately restored your marriage. For me, You know, it was it was You know, I'd reached the pinnacle of success, you know, and notoriety, and, you know, in some people's eyes anyway, the famous wrestler, and yet still knowing that something was missing.

You know, you said something about being broken, that, you know, Christians lead a perfect life.

Well, we don't, and I like to, I want to take it a step further. We're all broken, period. And once you give your life to Christ, we're still broken vessels that He is piecing back together. Correct. And He just happens to be the catalyst to heal our heart.

And then day by day, as we work out our salvation with fear and trembling, He molds us and shapes us. And we're far from perfect still. We're still going to make mistakes, right? We're still going to screw up at times. And people are very critical when we do.

But we're far from perfect, right? Yeah, Christ followers. We have a perfect Jesus Christ. Right. He's no.

But what I had said was the non-believers say that Christians are perfect, which is a lie from hell.

Well, and I don't know what gives them that view. I want to take it. I want to look at it in a different way.

Some might allude to that and/or say that in jest, like knowing we're really not. Or let me take it a step further. Maybe some Christ followers project themselves that they are perfect.

Well, there you go. Yeah. Okay, Bill? Which then leaves a bad taste in someone who's not a Christ follower. Yeah, you hit the nail on the head.

It leaves a bad taste in their mouth. Like, oh, you Christians think you're so perfect.

Well, for the record, this Christ follower does not think he's perfect. Yeah, me neither. For the record, I think there's that legalism. There is where a Christ follower can be very judgmental. And Jesus Christ clearly states he's the judge, not us.

Well, he's the ultimate judge, but how easy it is for us in our broken state and our fallen world to judge another.

Now, I will say for the record, from one believer to another, that we are to hold others accountable. Know them by their fruit and hold them accountable. And sometimes when we do that, even another Christ follower would say, oh, you're judging me. No, no, dude, I'm holding you accountable because you're sinning. I'm trying to help you.

Like, you're sinning, and I'm like trying to hold you accountable right now, not judge you, love you.

Okay. You can receive it as judgment, but it's actually just accountability, not judgment, right? And I think where. A lot of Christ followers get it wrong. is when we meet a street person or or a homeless guy or whatever.

We have to reach out and love just like Christ did. We can't judge him. I mean, we got to love him into the kingdom. And, you know, I hear people all the time say, Well, he's got a brand new pair of shoes or he's got a pack of cigarettes, so he's obviously got money.

Well, we're judging the man. We have no idea what his story is. We hadn't walked in his shoes. Correct. So we don't know his story.

And when you actually have a conversation with some of these people, you realize how broken they are. Right. And as Christ followers, If you've been through a divorce, you can speak into someone's life who's in the throes of divorce. That's right. Whatever our experiences are, we can speak into someone else's life.

And it's so beautiful when Christ intersects all that.

Well, and I think you just hit the nail on the head. And as we begin to wrap up this show, is you know, for our listeners out there, is no matter who it is you're encountering on a day-to-day basis, whether it's A homeless individual or someone you're crossing paths with in church is to approach every individual, starting in your home, but with love, with the love of Christ. Absolutely. Here's the challenge for us all, right, Bill? I'm going to add a word, unconditional love.

Because it's too easy for all of us, any of us, to throw conditions.

Well, I'll love you as long as, and then fill in the blank, right?

So that's the challenge is really, and I pray that often, and I'm sure you probably do as well. Lord, fill my heart with your. unconditional love And then allow me to see other people through your set of eyes and how you see them. and then show the same compassion That Jesus had for others when he walked the earth. You know, one of the.

You just Something just popped into my head that Judas Iscariot, who betrayed Christ. Jesus knew who was going to betray him before it happened because he dipped the bread in the The sop. And handed it and that identified Judas as the one that's going to betray him. and yet Jesus Christ, Peter also denied Christ three times. The difference was Peter repented of his sins.

And But Christ loved both of them. And that's the hard part for us to get is No matter what someone looks like on the outside, they're still created by Jesus Christ.

Well, we take it one step further, the image of God. Peter was repentant, right? Whereas Judas was remorseful, but it doesn't appear as though. Repentive, right? And he committed suicide.

Right. He took his life and and again, because he was remorseful about over what he did, but it doesn't appear as though he ever repented of what he did.
