Happy, happy, happy 4th of July. It's the 4th of July weekend, and we are going to celebrate today with a special edition celebrating the birth of this nation. And I have in the studio with me today.

None other than the man, the myth, and the legend himself, the Christian car guy, Robbie Dilmore. Robbie, welcome back to the show. It's nice to be in here with a firecracker on the 4th of July. Man, I'm really. Robbie, I'd rather think of myself as a stick of dynamite.

But hey, if you want to go with Firecracker, okay.

Well, you know, you're celebrating, you know, the birth of your country with a Russian nightmare. Wait, there's a twist of irony in there somewhere.

Somewhere, somewhere, yeah. Wait a minute, wait a minute.

So that's right, that's right. The Russian nightmare has been converted in more ways than one. I have been converted into American-loving patriot. Here we go.

So, but hey, if you're not familiar, I just want to say this about it, and you're probably catching on now. I just love to have this guy on, especially for the special editions. Like we did, like if you didn't hear the Easter, the special show we did at Easter, he and I, go back into the archives of the podcast, the mana podcast, and download that. But this guy, most popular show on the Truth Radio Network, the Christian College.

Car guy and Robbie Dillmore. And so just fun to be with him. Fun to have you here. And for me, you know, I get to I get to produce the man up show. And so every week I hear these amazing, amazing stories of like, man, one time you got this guy on and I've been listening for, you know, 20 minutes and all of a sudden, wait a minute, this guy's Barney?

Like, I love you. The shows that I have heard by just today, man, about a preacher that was body slim and people in the front yard. I mean, that had been a wrestler. Just amazing things that God has done and what Man Up is really has to do, you know, in so many ways. with the birth of our freedom, right?

That we could have such a show Right? To talk about this is one of the things that a lot of people died for so that we could do it. Yeah, absolutely. The freedom that the freedom that came from the birth of this nation, right? The liberty and the freedom from really from tyranny, I guess you say, a British rule and what in that day people thought was just tyranny in its day, right?

And everything from the Boston Tea Party and just the whole vision of we want. Our independence, we want to be able to make our own decisions and not be under some, you know. Government dominance, right? And just have that liberty and that freedom, right? That's what.

The Fourth of July and the Revolutionary War was really all about, right? Right, I know the Patriot isn't completely historically accurate, but you know, I think about what Um that movie portrays is the courage Of people, because to go into a war like You know, they're going up against a superpower and they're clearly not a superpower. And they're going up against armies that are unbelievable, but realizing that what they are doing to protect their families at some point in time, you got a man up. Right. Right.

Yeah. And and and right. And it may be, you know, it's it kind of glamor Hollywood glamorized in a sense. But you know, uh and I recently had had watched that and Dear the Correct me if I'm wrong, so you should you show that because you have a man, you have a man, a men's camp of your own. Right, we show at our boot camps.

We use clips of that movie, or we even show the movie. Yes, yes, I remember, yeah, and it had been a while since I saw it, and the unconventional tactics that were used, but that there is a real sense. I mean, there is a real What's the word I'm looking for? I mean, that reality to that. I mean, they did unconventional things against the British, right?

To win some of those battles, right? And Bill Cosby did a great job, you know, when I was a kid of saying, you know, if you're going to wear red and walk in a straight line, why not play it so good for you? The red coats. I mean, what were they thinking? I mean, you stand out like a sore thumb.

I mean, you talk about target practice, right? But that said, though, it's interesting, you know, in wrapping my head around that, and if you want to call it the rules of war, right? Prior to that. Right. Now, again, I love history, and I'm not.

A war historian But It still kind of blows my mind when you look at wars, even prior to that, how they would line up across each other and. One row would be on their knees, and the other would be on their standing up, and the and they'd. Basically take turns Yeah, just wiping each other out. It was. It was amazing.

Yeah. That anybody would have the courage to stand there knowing, hey, man, this is a bullet's probably going to hit me. Yeah, you got a whole line of people standing right across from you, just essentially taking whatever shots. Yeah, face to face. The rules of war, as they call it.

So there were definitely some scenes in there, some clips in there that just kind of blew me away. I'm like, man, you know, trying to visualize, like, had I really been there. You know, I lived in Spring Hill, Tennessee. for a couple years. And in Spring Hill, there was a big battle.

A big battle. And there actually is a trail you can follow, like, I think from like. Maybe Columbia, Tennessee, and then you can go up to Franklin, Spring Hill, Franklin. Brentwood into Nashville and beyond. And it trails the Revolutionary War.

And there's this hill in Spring Hill that where they illustrate how the Brits came or the. The Brits were on one side of the hill, and the Patriots came up the river and Just in the battle that ensued on that hill. And then my dad was actually with me one time in Nashville. And we went over to Franklin over to this battle, this house. We toured this house.

And it's one of the only times in history where there were four generals And it's the only time in history that there were four generals stretched out, laid out on the front porch that had died in battle. Four. generals. And and I just was blown away by the history of it all. But Anyway, that said, yeah, well, the point of, you know, that obviously.

These people They were doing something. that was worth dying for. Right? Yes. And I clearly think that God put that in our souls that we, in our identity, somehow.

you know, want to be in a cause that's worth dying for. And, you know, it's interesting. That our history shows that we, you know, we stand on the shoulders of a lot of giants that were willing to do that so that we could have this radio show. This radio show to be able to broadcast and broadcast around the nations and as the show goes out through the airwaves. Of course, the mentioned the podcasting platform, and I'd be remiss to not mention now the television version of the Manup Manup show: MorningstarTV.com, All NationsTV.com.

You can go catch the man up. T V show, which is uh di all different interviews. Um, but back to the the birth of our nation, uh, you know, I just and I did a little research, I did a little history and and um you know, back to the uh original uh thirteen British colonies. Right. Which is where it kind of all started.

I mean, there's history. There's more history, you know, prior to that. I mean, even back to 1492, right? What happened in 1492, Rob? I recall Columbus.

He sailed the ocean blue. Blue. He sailed the ocean blue. I don't know the rest of it. Do you know the rest of it?

I don't. I know there's a whole poem or song or something there, but he did. And there have been others since then. King Charles sent Sir William Penn over prior to the Revolutionary War. You know, one of the things that really had always grabbed me.

was What happened with the Indians? You know, we we we see all sorts of things through Thanksgiving and whatever on certain aspects of it. But in my when I started working my own genealogy, I I realized since my family was from New York, And actually, you know, several of them came over on the Mayflower, so I mean, you know. I have all that. But the ones that went to New York the Indians would come down And literally, I had a grandmother.

that the Indians came down And essentially burned down their houses and then marched them to Canada in the snow. Killed her husband. Marched her to Canada in the snow. Essentially, in her bare feet, because they came and raided their camp in the middle of the night, she's pregnant. And if anybody fell out of line, they tomahawked them because you know, you're going to Canada, she's pregnant.

That child lives, and I've never, and that child happened to be my great, great, great, great-grandfather.

Well, have you ever thought about how God protected your life through things like this grandmother? like march to Canada from New York in the snow at night with Indians, Ready to tomahawk her, and she lives, that child lives, and if that hadn't happened, no Robbie. Wow. And that's kind of the people, the stock of the people that founded this country, that they would continue to. You know, grow this country in spite of the odds that weren't just, you know, the British or whatever.

There were some hazards out there. Right. I mean, there's certainly the odds were certainly uh against us. And I even remember I'm trying to think, I don't know if I saw it at your camp. You know, I attended your boot camp and it was the the The battle that Washington had against the German elite.

Brian? And I don't know if that that wasn't the same movie, was it? Or do you remember the Incident, I'm talking about. Oh, I do remember the incident you're talking about, Washington. It's a beautiful, amazing movie.

And he, I mean, just how he got all the troops across the river in the freezing night. Right, and God made a way where there seemed to be no way. Right. And he did it a couple, three times for Washington.

Well, he actually, you know, probably finished the whole war force. It's all. A matter of obviously God's hand in the whole thing, and people that firmly believed that God wanted him in this fight. Right. Well, and and many contributed that that that one particular battle as as winning really the Revolutionary War, which would then lead to the peace treaty, I think of seventeen And then Philadelphia, right, the city of brotherly love became the Liberty Bell.

I mean, that became instrumental, right? uh in in uh the foundation of of our nation. Oh, it's some cool stuff. You know, my father grew up outside of Boston. He lived in Lexington, which is not in Lexington, North Carolina, but Lexington, Massachusetts.

And so we would go up there and redo Paul Revere's ride and think about what those guys were like. You know, the menu of the land, two of my sea, that whole thing, you know, and then the shot heard around the world and all those things. are literally in every American's identity somehow. You know, that God gave us that, that these people would take on just unbelievable odds. Part of our DNA, right?

In terms of our history, I didn't know you've got some. Phenomenal history there that I didn't know about. I know my dad. Did some ancestral research. He got as far back as the late 1600s.

Oh, wow. Yeah, and just fascinated to look at that genealogy. And of course, you know, my roots go back to Scotland and England and Ireland and. you know, different parts, you know. You know, it's interesting.

One time I did the math, and I don't know if you've ever done it, but if you start to look at, you know, you had two grandparents, you know, you had four great-grandparents, and if you go back generations, guess what? You're going to find you had more grandparents on the world. Than there were people in the world.

So, what is that telling you? That we're all related. There was a Noah, there was a Shem. There was an Abraham. Yeah, I mean, you don't have to, because you realize when you start doing the math going backwards, you won't have to go far to realize that, wait a minute, I got to be related to everybody.

Well, we are. That's why you're my brother. And even if you're Russian. In some way, shape, or form. And then, of course, you know, well, that's like I'm reminded, you remind me of the story with Ivan, right?

People come to me all the time. Was he really your uncle? You know, they'll ask me.

Some think he was my like my cousin. Hey, your cousin Ivan, or whatever. They're like, Was he really your uncle? And I'm like, Well, he was in TV land, but we're related by the blood of Jesus. And that's right.

And so uh Well, and it's just interesting. I'm just, you know, just looking again, looking at some of the history of this great nation, and even you. You know, we're talking, of course, about the Revolutionary War, but there's, you know, been some things that have happened even in between the Revolutionary War that led to the Declaration of Independence. What do you, what, Robbie? What do you?

I'm curious to get what are your thoughts on so it's the Declaration of Independence, right? And I grew up without it. You know, I grew up without my, my dad left when I was three. A lot of people know the story. They've listened to the podcast or whatever.

But, but, and, and so, in my mind, though, I had to grow up and that stand on my own two feet, pull up my bootstraps, take care of myself, go out and learn to work ethic in sixth grade and been an entrepreneur ever since then. And, and this, that, and the other, you know, sports and wrestling and all of it, right? And, and take care of myself and be independent. And then I give my life to Jesus and all of a sudden I hear, hey, you need to be solely dependent upon him or totally dependent upon him. I'm like, and my brain is like, wait a minute, wait, wait, wait, well, all these years, I believed I need to be independent.

And how do you balance? Like for our nation, we're celebrating the 4th of July. How do we balance the fact that? We we gained this independence as a nation. But how does that translate into, especially as a Christ follower, having a dependency upon Christ?

You understand what I'm asking? Yeah, well, it's like, you know, that famous speech from William Wallace in And um Brave heart. You know, he says, you know, you were born free men. What will you do with that freedom? Right?

We have freedom. God gave us freedom. You're born in the United States, you're born with freedom. What will you do with that freedom? Well, we have the freedom To follow Christ.

And actually, when you think about it, these guys were were declaring independence from Britain. But they were completely dependent on God. Washington was a perfect example of that. I mean, you can see him on his knees in how many paintings, right? That's what, and what God allowed all that stuff in his life.

So he had to be on his knees. He had nowhere else to turn. He really didn't, you know, you think about it. But he was smart enough to turn to the one that could make a difference. And so.

The idea, it's interesting that when you study Isaiah 61. Beautiful. You know, Jesus came to set the captives free, right? But what he did was to declare liberty To the captives, to those who are held captive. And you might remember a famous speech back in those days: give me what?

Liberty. Forgive me death. And there's a difference between liberty and freedom. And and and that You know, study in Hebrews, I won't go into a lot of that right this minute, but it, but suffice it to say that for me, I'm so grateful for the freedom.

However, What good would my love for Christ be if it wasn't Free. In other words, if he demanded That I love him then. You know, if I demanded that my wife love me, it wouldn't go all real far, you know. Like, just not the same thing as somebody voluntarily loving you because they want to love you. It's like when I know when I come home tonight, my wife is going to have this chocolate pudding with this.

With this um Stuff in it that she does for me because she loves me. But if I said, honey, I need to have that pudding tonight and have the pudding, it wouldn't be near the same as I haven't said a word ever. I just know. Right, right. That's out of her freedom, she's going to love me.

Well, and so the foundation of our nation, right, has been discussed many times, you know, that the Bible was instrumental. And even, even, way I understand it, even forming. You know, the Bill of Rights and the Declaration of Independence, you know, unalienable rights, the pursuit of, you know, pursuit of happiness, pursuit, right? And I just, a quote from George Washington, you know, just to your point. It is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God.

to obey his will, to grate to be grateful for his benefits and humbly to implore his protection and favor. Yeah. Wow. That's just one of Numerous quotes from George Washington.

Sounds like he's read at least some of the Bible for sure to quote some of this. But the freedom, on the independence celebration of our nation this weekend, the July 4th celebration, and you're listening to this show today. And certainly we want to, you know, there's going to be fireworks, right? There's going to be parties and all kinds of different, it's a national holiday, right? Monday's a national holiday and people get the day off and many get a paid day off or a paid work day and get to take the day off.

But we have to remember: one, what the nation was really founded on to bring really ultimately religious freedom. To not only give us the opportunity to have a radio show, but to voluntarily. Love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, right, Robbie? Yeah, it's a beautiful picture that God really is painted. From generation to generation to generation to generation.

He painted it very clearly in Egypt with the freedom that he brought, right, the slaves. And just not, but they were. You know, celebrating their independence on the other side of the Red Sea, they sang a little song, whatever. But for them, you know, they were given this freedom. But then, what would they do with that freedom?

And a lot of times, they would find themselves right back into bondage.

Well, you know, as we get freed from sin, like it is a picture. It's a picture that if you turn to Christ. Right? And we've seen a lot of people do it. You know We're onto the blood and we get that, but sometimes we turn right back to the things that took us.

I'm talking about myself, right? The things that took me into bondage to begin with. Right. And so, you know, I got to turn back. It's interesting that you mentioned that back to being dependent on the one that originally set me free.

Or man, I'll find myself right back there in slavery again before, you know, I hardly turn around. And I really think. Yeah. That's what the The Declaration of Independence was to make sure that they didn't end up as essentially slaves. to the British government.

Well, and, you know, let's just be straight up truthful. I mean, we're in a battle as we celebrate this nation, however, 200-something years that it is at this point in time. We're really in a battle. This is what I'm calling on all Christ followers out there, brothers and sisters in the Lord. That if you've ever intensified your prayer life, ever got more serious about your prayers, that now is the time really to do it.

And yes, we want to celebrate this weekend and celebrate the freedom we have, but we also don't want to. Lose our freedom. We want to maintain our freedom. And that's where we need to really be pressing in and praying for our nation, praying for our leadership, and just standing united so that we can continue to enjoy. the freedoms that we've had the past couple hundred plus years and honor, as you said earlier, all those who fought for our freedom, whether it was the Revolutionary War, The Civil War or or any other wars in between or rumours of wars.

Right. I think of all the friends, you know, I'm I'm of that generation, I know you are to some extent. a little older than you, but not much, of of all the guys in Vietnam? And then Operation Iraqi Free, all those things that we've lived in our whole, you know, these men that literally. You know, they gave up their lives to Agent Origin, and all this stuff is going on.

It really is an honor. It really, really It's amazing. But I think if there's a time to man up, when you know that what's right is right, and to be asking God, just like George Washington did on our knees, what's my response to this new set of circumstances? And what would these men did who fought so bravely for our country?

Well, and I think the theme of today's show is freedom. If you hadn't picked up on that by now, we're a special Fourth of July show and talking about Freedom, freedom, freedom. And I'm just reminded, Robbie, I'm reminded just recently to have these questions just dropped in my spirit. And as you're celebrating your freedom this weekend, and Robbie said, what was the quote from Braveheart? What was the quote?

What will you do with that freedom? What will you do with that freedom? Here's a few more questions for you to ponder in celebration of this freedom we enjoy in America. Who are you and what is your value? What is your purpose here in life?

What is your legacy/slash destiny when you're done here? How do you want to be remembered? And how many will know Jesus because of you?

Some questions to ponder, Robbie, as we're about the fruit, isn't it? Yes. And wow, you know, what an opportunity, you know, that we can bear good fruit. And in order to do that, though, it requires manning up. Yeah.

And if you're a lady out there listening, because I know we get a lot of ladies listening as well. We want you to lady up. We don't just want the men to man up. We want the ladies to lady up as well. Come on, ladies.
