You're listening to the Truth Network and will not over God's glory is then returned home. Your house might swing if not for God today with Mike Zwick. This time the burn baby burn the fire burned yeah I mean I think we were talking about this little bit for the show Robbie in one of the things that we've seen that is undeniable is that Christianity in America is under attack on the things that are happening today.

If we if you would've looked and said this would've happened. You know, in 25 years. That was a go to 1995 and you said 25 years from now you have people burning down churches, driving vans into churches just pretty much just everything going against Christians. If you believe in you know a certain type of way that people should live or whether a child is in the womb or or or whatever it is that that would be considered hate speech. You probably wouldn't believe it. And so a lot of people.

I think right now are getting worried.

They're concerned that there there there worried about their futures are worried about what can happen in America.

I mean we've seen riots and I know they had riots in the late 60s but this is something about this seems different, but as we know if we if you're a Christian we got hope. Second Corinthians 48 it says we are we are troubled on every side, yet not distressed.

We are perplexed, but not in despair persecuted, but not forsaken, cast down, but not destroyed. Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.

Beloved, do not think it is strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you. First Peter 412 is we look in Matthew 1028 it says in fear not them which kill the body but after that are able to do no more. This is what I tell you should fear, fear the one who can throw both body and soul into hell and when you when you see these things, you kind of gain a perspective because if not, if you're constantly watching the news and you're constantly worried and you're constantly biting your nails down to the quick. That's no way to live in, and Robbie. You were talking about love. Shall I you know the scary part that happens that first word says you know in the last days the love of many will grow cold at and as I see people in isolation and I can't help but wonder, like, really. We can go to the grocery store we can do a lot of stuff that we can't worship together, I mean is that more important that we feed spiritually. Then we do feed physically is that really what we believe in it, you know, I've heard several sermons were if you you take that spark out of the fire need to put up with this updated it doesn't burn and so how do we burn with love is no question that's really been on my heart lately so just yesterday I I was in my prayer time and trying to ignite a spark filling that would be of love for God and love for my you know, brothers and sisters and always forget ready for boot camp were leaving here in a few days.

Actually tomorrow. Thank you.

Yeah and and I was talking with the father and I fell down at Jesus's feet and I said oh I don't have any tears tonight your feet and he went tears. He said Robbie is a fetus, laughed and giggled at me and he said Robbie oh you have tons oil, tons of oil go look it up already and I guess he knew that I have this room. I don't know. I love the 45th Psalm in all sorts of different ways because it's a marriage. Solomon talks about. Eventually, how we get the white wedding close and all those things that that we get to enjoy our in our marriage to Jesus.

So that's it turnabout burning would love for me there you go, but a little bit before it gets into that part think it's in verse eight it says no because you love righteousness right that I have anointed you and this is the king anointed you with the oil of gladness and that word gladness is in Hebrew is got this beautiful picture of grace and joy. And like oh my goodness this is really really fun and you know I'm really blessed to have an amazing band of brothers and we get together we laugh like if you were to define gladness just coming around us from yeah yeah and and you get it yeah and if you're on the outside looking into that.

You're going on. I want to yeah you know and and that love their is not grown cold right because honestly we didn't forsake the gathering of ourselves together. I mean mass no mass. Whatever the situation might be.

That's right. When we are still meeting and in spite of the fact that they canceled two different venues on us and everything they could probably come across. This boot camp is happening because we really do feel that what we're doing is not more important than get some at Walmart and because you know John Eldridge talks about is there something in your life that you feel like is worth dying for a cause that you feel like it's worth dying for Jesus Christ and falling more in love with him and growing closer in our love with one another in the church to me is definitely worth dying for is is you as you said little while ago right. It may be five years or maybe 10 years. Maybe tomorrow, but it's coming, roaming back in and and when when we pass away. I mean, were were not to be here forever. I mean, you know, we may be her 89 years. I mean how many people you know that are hundred years old that I don't know many but here's the good news and I wanted to share this because I wanted to one of the things I said you Robbie before the show we I've heard this was that losers focus on what they're going through. But winners focus on where they're going to in when you're just looking at what's in front of your face.

It seems so big and I think the devil wants you to think that it's gonna last forever. But when you look at Revelation, starting in verse one, going all the way to I believe it's verse first seven, maybe verse eight it says and I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away, and there was no more sea and I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband and I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them and be their God, and God shall wipe away how many tears all tears from their eyes in there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying.

Thank God for that, neither shall there be any more pain for the former things are passed away and he that sat upon the throne said, behold I make all things new. And he said to me right for these words are true and faithful, and he said unto me, it is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give him to him that is a thirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that over cometh shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be my son. This is the other side. This is if you choose not to follow Jesus, but the fearful and the unbelieving and the abominable, and murderers and warmongers and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death man is worth it. You know I in Robbie. I think we talked about this a little bit before or maybe a few weeks ago.

It says that Jesus said whatever you're going to build a house to build a house you can have to count the cost of the house. What I want you to do today if you're listening. I want you to count the cost of following Jesus, yet might be a little bit tough right now, you might have a little ridicule when you go to church people may make fun of you.

Hey, let's be honest with things the way they're going. You may be beaten. You may be killed okay we we can't discount that at all.

But what are the consequences of not following Jesus is eternal separation from God in hell where the fire is never quenched.

So, which one would you rather choose and and it says in Scripture choose you this day whom you shall serve.

I don't know about you guys but I want to serve Jesus about you Robbie of the it's offensive. It's a really fun thing and it's really a different thing. But it's it's Frese has so much to do with burning you remember in you know the beginning.

Revelation gives in the third chapter we talk of church life, severe cases, and I wish you were either hot or cold. You know, your lukewarm solace pitch out of my mouth right right it and I think from not mistaken, John six but anyway it's there's there's a passage where Jesus is no I've come to start a fire on the earth. It's is how I wish it was Kindle before I got here.

That's her head. That's right, the fire that he's talking about is a burning love for God and a burning love for each other right at and that's a beautiful thing is a very positive thing. There's nothing that can remotely be you wouldn't come and watch my band of brothers and go. Others become hate going on right there knowing it is not and not happen right right is your to say man these people this this looks like some people love each other well in spite of being broken and and and so if we bring you into our fellowship or whatever, that all looks like that doesn't look anything like eight. It looks like a community. A church that you would want to be part of you know we talked about before the you know I got involved with church Scientology, when as a teenager. Why because they were next to they cannot turn her right. They treated me like I meant some they showed me grace. Actually, like I was important. I was their favorite. They acted like I was a big deal.

Turn and ends and it took me in.

While you don't we have that opportunity to do that for real right because Jesus was. Jesus was full of grace. I want just a little bit of it. I mean, he is full of that stuff. And and when you feel that love and acceptance when you're around somebody always think about this, but did I treat that person would grace her disgrace.

I remember pastor courts when one time because I had always heard him preach but I remember one time he came to my grandmother's house and my grandmother barely had any money shortly had in her. She didn't have anything that she could do for him, but I happen to be over at her house and they knew that she was having a tough time getting if she was struggling to make ends meet and they brought her this basket of food when he just bring her the basket of food and drop it off and he acted like when he saw her he was meeting the president of the United States.

I don't ever see anything like that for, and he was just so happy to see her and so nice. I just, you know, people may or may not listen to what we say and I think people do listen to what we say to an extent, but I think was Emerson who said that who you are speaks so loudly that I cannot hear what you say and people are to look at what you do.

I mean not you know and and when I was when I was younger. You know I I I made a lot of mistakes.

There were things that I I wasn't always living right and stuff like that and I remember instances of where I think people probably wouldn't listen to me about Jesus and it may not of been because of the things that I was saying, but maybe how I was living my life and in so let me ask you if you're listening today. Is there something in your life that you're doing like I'd like I've done in my past like Robbie and none of us are perfect but is there something that you doing today are living in a certain way where people would look at you and say I don't want to listen to what you have to say because you're living like a cross where people say well not to listen you because the way that you're living it in and it people listen to you about the gospel if it's because they don't like the gospel. That's one thing is matter fact, that's okay. Jesus said that would happen but if people learn to listen to you about the gospel because the way that you living your life that you frustrated with your real estate agent are trying to sell your home yourself with your the Winston-Salem area urine Mark Joe Locke open-door real estate about property management you been struggling with that with trying to find someone to help you with your rental home Joe Locke, you're not right, Mike. I've used Joe for over five years as my property manager for my rental homes in your right Robbie, I was in luck if you want to be in luck. Go to open-door Triad That's 336-930-3202 and I want to make sure that the way that I'm living my life that people can look at me and they see Jesus not somebody who just talks about Jesus but people they can see Jesus and a lot of what you were saying before Robbie was important was just her love. I mean, how much does it cost to smile at somebody if you want to be a car salesman, you better learn our right you know it's a beautiful thing when you really get into the word issue is Jesus in Hebrew piano and it it it has everything to do what we been talking about today because it starts with this unit, which is a spark. While Jesus came to bring fire. This spark relates the spark that is igniting is is a love love that burns from oil and rejoicing, rejoicing to be in his presence in his presence is fullness of joy right so your peers. This spark and it and it's followed by the shin, which looks like fire. If you see the letter in Hebrew you go is clearly fire and it also could be a tooth because it has to do an oxidizing but so just the beginning of the word Jesus is.

This is spark that the building into a fire at an end. The point of the word is actually salvation but it salvation with a life and a life abundantly, and what life would be abundant without love. I mean, you know you want three movies that the most unhappy people in the movie are are the people that are in our loveless are are are often you know the cases they look lonely, but the challenge is interestingly that the person often in love with the most is themselves rather than going out and find somebody to love on which everybody that I am are meant they did in all. They seem to respond well to it and and so there there is no so much of who Jesus is. Is is starting that spark inside of us that is that burning love these talk about can grow cold and and if you try to do this and isolationist as pastor courts work said is it what you can tell me you can get to heaven without going to church. He said, but you know you are going to England you know you can go without a boat to but it's a long swim we we actually speak of which are talking about.

We actually have a small group study on Tuesday nights, and them in and and elements County area and there was a guy who leads the group name Joel and he said grit just having grit.

He said that's not going to get you through.

He said grit important, he said. But what's can get you through the tough times and it and it looks like they may be on his love know and I thought about that and it's like if somebody came up to me and said and they had a gun and they said Mike. It's either you or your kids and I got just very small kids at two and a three-year-old. I would have to say will cost to not know why I wouldn't even have to I would say leave the kids alone get me because of my love for the children. It's not because I have to have grit estate market. No, I love them in when you're trying to make it through on your own if it's just grit that you're using can be tough but when you're doing it out of your love for Jesus and say was always an easy but it's a lot easier than it it says in Scripture that the way of the transgressor is hard and let's just take the night of the seminary right. There were two pretty well known. The transgressor you got Judas and you got Peter and and you know what is. It turns out in a Peter thought he had grit you sure cut off the priest high priest here not you have the server, the high priest and an and you know who knows what all Judas was thinking, but Jesus showed what the real difference was in no having breakfast one morning with Peter at the beach because what was his question. Peter do you love me you will feed my sheep right yeah basket three times because there were three different kinds of denials there that that Peter got into so I didn't have to do it grit it had to do with love and Jesus was showing him fundamentally here you go here you go. Yeah you've messed up. I've messed up.

Believe me, if you asked my wife she would tell you this is one of the biggest mess up your right.

However, how can I fall more in love with Jesus because therein lies how to catch fire therein lies that opportunity and and you know in Proverbs. There's this beautiful beautiful if he gets in Proverbs a 35 actually, but a weight. Solomon is giving us some phenomenal wisdom. What he actually says is matzoh matzoh matzoh, but what you don't know, unless you you know that in Hebrew is he's actually saying seek seek seek go after it go after these talk about wisdom, but is actually talk about Jesus like go looking though looking though looking though looking seek seek seek hunger or thirst, knock, do all that stuff. The Bible couldn't be more clear if you keep going after Jesus right. However, you go about doing that right. That is where you find life that is where you find wisdom. That is where you find the answers that's right that's right that's right as matter fact and I know we had talked about this couple weeks ago but I left my house something to leave the house and I I set him to turn on the radio.

I said God I feel like you want to tell me something. What is, and I turn on the radio and it was Dr. Tony Evans and he was talking about. Daniel three. It says King Nebuchadnezzar made an image of gold 60 cubits high and six cubits wide and set it up on the plane of Dara in the province of Babylon.

He then summoned everybody. Basically what he did to make a long story short he says nations and peoples of every nation. This is what you are commanded to do.

As soon as you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, liar, harp, pipe in all kinds of music, you must fall down and worship the image of gold that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up whoever does not fall down and worship will immediately be thrown into a blazing furnace.

Therefore, as soon as they heard the horn.

Everybody fell down, except for Shadrach me shack and Abednego at the time. Some astrologers came forward and denounce the Jews. They said to King Nebuchadnezzar made the king live forever sound like a little brown nosing, but your Majesty has issued a decree that everyone who hears the sound of the horn, flute zither, while harp must fall down and worship and that whoever does not fall down will be thrown into a blazing furnace, but there are some Jews whom you have sent over the affairs of the province of Babylon, Shadrach, Shadrach me shack and Abednego, who pay no attention to you, your Majesty. Another serve your gods, nor worship the image of gold that you would set up furious with rage, Nebuchadnezzar summoned Shadrach me shack and Abednego so these men were brought before the King Nebuchadnezzar said to them, is it true Shadrach me shack and Abednego that you do not serve my gods are worship the image of gold I've set up know when you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither is liar heart pipe at all kinds of music if you're ready to fall down and worship the image on a very good but if you do not worship you will be thrown immediately into a blazing furnace then what God will be able to rescue you from my hand. Shadrach me shack and Abednego replied to him, King Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace. The God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from your Majesty's hand, but even if he does not, we want you to know your Majesty that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold that you have set up well you know the rest of the story, they were thrown into the furnace and they did not burn, and all of a sudden there were heroes. And in this and that is fine, but Robbie you know what they even said it right there. They didn't know that they work in a burn up.

But they had made this decision beforehand matter what they were to serve God and not worship those idols and I think maybe there's some people here today who are listening.

You gotta make a decision today, are you serve the world. Or you can serve the Lord Jesus Christ will maybe there's somebody today. Robbie Hughes never said yes to Jesus. Would you say to them, well, you know, there is a place that you may be new as a child or at some point in your life or you felt total love and acceptance and and that felt like heaven to you when you can have that for eternity. And as my friend Solomon said matzoh matzoh month, ask, ask, ask, seek, seek, seek Jesus come into my heart and my life. You know I give you that. And I turn over my brokenness and my similar things I've done wrong, ask you to forgive me and and I do believe that you paid the ultimate price for that. If you haven't understood that Jesus took on our punishment, he took that beating he took those nails so that he would be in fact the payment for the things that we've done to transgress God essentially at and so Lord, we except that we accept that you are God and that you you made it possible you made a way for us to be clean and fresh and totally innocent. Can you accept that. Can you accept the fact that you are in fact really totally completely innocent Lord, we pray that you would cleanse us from our sins with your precious blood, yes, bring us in your kingdom. The more we also asked that you would wet our appetites for your word for other Christians who believe people that would point us in the direction to you that we would gather together to build a fire like we talked about keeping the embers close together fall more in love with you more in love with each other and whether were in the fiery furnace.

We will be fired up and in love with you. Yes, this is not how did you give an offer. Thank you for listening to God my shows arrive on my if not for God.
