Welcome to Oregon stories of his current home manager hose when and if not for God. Today we have sort of a timely show for you because Mike you read this verse is just, took my heart to like, wow, would that be for such a time as this absolutely were looking at Matthew chapter 5 and it is verse nine it says blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God. Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my namesake.

Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you know it's funny II probably about a year or two ago I spoke to somebody and they and several people had been prophesying on and I know Rob you would told me about somebody but they had been saying that there was going to be you don't there was any war in this country. Or, you know, I heard some people say things really get really bad in this country and it's interesting because at the time. Nobody thought that anything like that was going to happen. Everything was piece smooth sailing. Everything like that. But there's a scripture in Rob, you probably know it and it says just when they are saying, peace, sudden destruction shall come upon them, and it also says in in in chapter 4 and in verse 14.

In Matthew five year the white of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Right now there's a lot of destruction there's there's riots.

There's looting. There are people right now who are afraid for their lives. I believe that we have a message that we can go out and tell people in that language is love. Ravi Zacharias actually just passed away in one of the things that he said is he says that he was in an debate with a Muslim man. I believe in another country and he said he asked the Muslim man. He said just wasn't going anywhere. He said the guy was extremely hostile and he said the Muslim man. You know, he asked him a question and he said the guy gave him an answer that he did not like and Ravi Zacharias came back and he said he says will meet get take you back to a story in Rob you you you probably know this of the story of where Abraham was connect to sacrifice Isaac and the Muslims actually believe that it wasn't Isaac. It was another sunny set.

I don't argue with you about who Abraham was sacrificing. He said, but but he said that was 5000 years ago and he said ever since then he says people have been trying to sacrifice themselves or sacrifice others or whatever it is he says, but 2000 years ago Jesus was sacrificed so we don't have to continue to make all of the sacrifices and what we want to give you today is maybe a word of encouragement while where you see everything that's happening everything that's going on. All of the sadness, all of the sickness. This in you and Rob you said the spirit of what you say there was a spirit in this country of about last August, John Eldridge started the Sam that there's just that he felt no God and let himů Understand that there was a couple spirits of the been released on the earth, and that it was going to be a really really gnarly time on the earth, and that was a spirit of hate and the spirit of death, a spirit of hate in the spirit of death.

You just there for second because this wasn't three weeks ago that he said that's right.

This wasn't after the coronavirus. This was this was like last August and actually he said he been made known this for some time, but he does felt more and more compelled to share it with his you know ministry people are connected with his ministry better that we need to be really praying and he said this is no ordinary in it. If you know John Eldridge is all about spiritual warfare sure names and this is no ordinary spirit. This is this is something that is more than people of faith before and it is not a prayer off the Sojourn after bring the river of life up against a lot of you know that that in and pray the river of life, and he goes, the amount of love. You know that that in order to come up against this spirit of of death yeah you got the tree of life, and then you've got all the stuff on love that and then again when we see the current climate like oh my goodness the spirits are going helter-skelter essentially whoever will listen if you know and before you know you get caught up in the whole hate thing and I my daughter works at Chick-fil-A. She came home last night with the strangest looking fishes like I've never faced anything like this for my life. I always people I work with that I like. We get along and they're just saying you need understand another in their own and are really angry and she said I wasn't making any statement one way or the other but there's clearly you know all charged up and in the thing of it is anybody that will give that either of those spirits a place you know they're going here. My experience with death since he said that in all the different monitoring but it necessarily does Corona right now I'm talking about all my goodness and and these deaths. In this time who can remember somebody that was close to the passed away that you couldn't go to their funeral.

The you that there was nothing said over the bunion on the restaurant there.

All these things are happening at an away, that I just never have experienced in so it's kinda cool to know that we are placed in these times right to leave that spirit of peace.

We are in and in is matter fact, when you were saying that Robbie, one of the things that I thought of staying in Matthew chapter 5 Matthew chapter 5 verses 43 through 44. This is the King James Ye have heard that it has been said, thou shalt love thy neighbor and hate thine enemy but I say and you love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you and pray for them which despitefully use you and persecute you, that she may be the children of your father which is in heaven. For he maketh his sun to rise on the good and evil and send it rain on the just and the unjust.

For if you love them which love you, what reward have you do not even the publicans do the same. And if ye salute your brethren only, what do you more than others do not even the publicans do so.

Be ye therefore perfect, even as your father which is in heaven is perfect, and in one of the things that that tells me right now is is I believe were were being divided into a nation and it's a nation of people of color versus white or were being divided into a nation of left versus right and the problem is is people are doing. Instead of trying to reach out and compromise and saying okay mate let's try to understand were each other is coming from there just digging their heels in even more and as that happens, now you're seeing violence you're seeing looting and everything else but remember that we as Christians instead of instead of yelling at people instead of you know, trying to be angry at people who disagree with us will if you look in those verses in Matthew chapter 5, he doesn't say dig in and and yell and be angry and stuff like what he says is be a peacemaker, love, and those who don't agree with you that there's really stuff and what you just read that I would like to unpack a little bit because he you know when we get mad or we get angry with somebody and we begin to let that roll around in our minds. And if you're like me, but I'll begin to run scripts like all I can tell this guy Bob Bob O'Brien or whether you know it or you don't. What Jesus is telling us that verse is your cursing that other person okay, you're literally holding malice toward your brother whatever and it gives Satan the authority which believe me spiritual warfare is all about authority and you are in my case I am.

I don't think anybody else because I'm his fault that you know if I start to get angry about the looting or I get angry at the policeman that the strangle that guy and all the sudden all my goodness, I am literally starting to let curses go that I don't know and and and what that means is, God can't look at something that your cursing and so you're giving authority to come from Satan to come into this thing versus a blessing from where you're actually asking God I love the member's explicit right if you know where says you know, be gracious, should shine your face apart is Lord you know that that whole concept of bringing God into be gracious to them and you know shine your face upon models, things where you're actually trying to bless the person even though you're angry with you you you know where you are, but he said bless and don't curse right at an what happens then is your giving God the authority rather than saying the authority I bring them in the bring it in the Calvary.

That's why you your your sound of the trumpet and and this is how you bring peace bring not even when we we were just all over the place in our own minds go wait a minute was just fine where we are. Let's bless the situation by bringing God.

You bless them and keep them and make your face shine upon and lift your countenance upon them and being bring them what shalom bring them click PC's are higher yet immediately because when the world sees that one side is angry. The other side is angry and and people are just furious and the ready to go to war in it and things are just awful and they see a piece in you. Were you number one. Matthew chapter 6 where Jesus says do not worry what he means, that were not supposed to worry when all of these things happen. Now, take precautions, don't be stupid.

I'm not saying that but were not to worry number one in the number two is to walk in love now, three, four years ago. I think it was probably a little bit easier to walk in love. When you know when you could go downtown and in people may not be looting people. They may not be screaming to each other on Facebook and stuff like that but the real test of walking in love is what when people are really not nice to you, will you know Jesus that he even even the publicans are nice to people who are nice to them. Even the centers are nice to them, he says, but be ye perfect in Matthew chapter 5.

Now of course nobody's perfect. We know that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. But one of the things that we can take out of this is that we don't have to be like the rest of the world. We we we were right now I think were in a time right now Robbie and I think you would agree with this where we need to pray for our country and I don't know about you Robbie, but I've been doing a lot of praying more than usual number one and number two I been doing some fasting and and since I been doing that God has given me some answers about you, absolutely. Once again I go back to your passage right there and and and a lot of people they associate Jesus with the word grace. But actually, that right there is the only place Jesus teaches on grace in the in the entire Bible that Jesus himself is going to teach on grace and what he says exactly what you just said if you love only those that love you, what grace is that to you. If you go look in the original language. That's the only place that Jesus was full of grace and all the stuff is as described by Paul and the apostles all about how much grace Jesus had, but as far as Jesus actually teaching on the subject. He does it right there and had a sale and any says specifically are you in a highly favor those people that are treating you badly or totally dislike you. In other words, if you can highly favor and choose this person to be your favorite. In spite of the fact that the way that their teaching you well on the say that you're in love in your life because they sponsor your I have not forgotten that if not for God and we got to go right to know what I mean by here in the minutes 18 frustrated with your real estate agent are trying to sell your home yourself with your the Winston-Salem area you're in mock Joe Locke open-door real estate about property management you been struggling with that would trying to find someone to help you with your rental home Joe Locke, you're not right, Mike. I've used Joe for over five years as my property manager for my rental homes. You're right, Robbie. I was in luck if you want to be in luck.

Go to open-door Triad That's 33693032021 come back if not show talking about passage in Matthew Morris is blessed are the peacemakers, because to be called the children of God, and we we we talked about a minute ago.

What Jesus taught about grace and it reminded me of Nick Ripken's book the insanity of God, and he was ministering to some all you talk about a war-torn country in a place where there was no peace.

And as he went in there you just total chaos and try to figure out how could I actually minister to these people.

How can I be a peacemaker and he thought it was at first if I could bring in food if I can bring a medicine, maybe even a shovel or a body bag in a buried FM you know they were there they had all kinds of needs, but what he discovered the people's need was, which blew me away. More in others person even for two weeks or whatever you you can imagine how starving our their real need was somebody to list somebody to hear their story somebody to allow them to communicate what it is that they're feeling that and I think about like if it was your child like last night. You know Mariah looked hurt by what it happened in the Walmart had a bomb threat and she was all scared.

I've never gone through anything like this that you know what the at and so she needed somebody to listen. Somebody had compassion course is my favorite because she is my daughter right but wow I mean are there people around you. There is somewhat difficult to listen to that really that's what that's what they mean they need somebody to listen somebody who cares in an somebody who will to treat them like they're sick like their favorite like an significant person. That's right. If you go back to our regular interview that a be coming up with Ray comfort. One of the things that he does as he goes out and he witnesses to people and he starts talking to them and he has a lot of of a lot of luck and he says one of the things that he does is he just ask people questions and he listens to them and I think one of the keys that that that we see there is listening to other people.

It says in the book of Ecclesiastes that a fool is known by a multitude of his words on so if we all we want to do is talk talk talk talk talk and we don't listen to what other people have to say, then why would anyone listen what we have to say I mean, I wouldn't mean estimate for what it actually goes back to basics salesmanship your salesman. I'm a salesman and the old adage, he who talks the most ends up with the product right right right right knee you want and I've seen so many salesman to my cell their way out of the sale is unable people came in the Bible, they would not stop talking long enough to with the person you know Tom what it is that they want was the exact same thing you know were so anxious to give somebody our solution right but we don't know what the problem is that's right and saw it in and I found and I'm sure you found that after you are willing to listen to people on an even talking not to people about insurance at all. Listen to them and what they want to talk about.

Everyone has a story on their there was a 60 minute broadcast that believers one on one. One of the stations and what they would do is literally just opened up the phone book and they would go down that the list and pick somebody's name and they would go interview them and they would let this person tell their story and they said that the shows that they did on this were so wildly popular because everybody has a story and a lot of people stories is interesting to me and it's not just listening to their story so that you can tell them something, but really try to try to be interested in what they have to say and then went when we when we listen to what they have to say were like you said when the guy came over to bring food after we do that then we bring the words of Jesus because you know actually when I first became a Christian. Robbie, I don't know if I ever told you this or not. I was deciding which denomination to go to and I'm going to a Catholic Church on Sears I AutoCAD iteratively was St. Leo's right here in town.

Have you heard of it yeah and I went over there and the priest said something I never forgot. He said it's important that he said it's good that we give people food and it's good that we feed people's bellies. He said, but we also need to bring the gospel in its funny in one of the things that we talked about. I believe it was maybe on a couple weeks ago on a show was that were Jesus said blessed are the poor, and he said I have come to preach the good news to the poor.

One of the reasons that the poor would probably listen or the people that we would call about maybe a lower socioeconomic status on is because they really don't have a whole lot other whole lot of other things to hold onto. And right now when people are in pain, and people are suffering and people are looking for answers. We've got the answer. We got the answer in Jesus and we've got the peace that surpasses all understanding and and one of the things I do believe that when we go out and we talk to people and we preach to people or whatever were doing that. We also say look, it's not don't look at me.

Don't look at Mike.

Don't look at Robbie were pointing you to Jesus as a matter fact it says in Ephesians 2 verses eight through nine for by grace are ye saved through faith and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God not of works lest any man should boast. My good works can't get me in heaven.

Robbie, because if they could. I go straight to hell with that. That's absolute case you know when you think about that idea for the and and it's it's a cool thing that has to do with being needy and and the more you need God. The more you hunger and thirst, and all the rest of those that you know we've been talking about.

Blessed are the peacemakers, but blessed are the poor in spirit in him. Blessed are those who mourn, so you know it's the right opportunity for such a time as this for the friends of Jesus to be getting in touch and say okay Lord well what you have me in this crisis where can I minister. How can you find me being about your business and because obviously the fields are white with harvest and you never seen it all around us, and in I believe Robbie if you want to find something right now. I think you can find if you want to find a reason to be angry, you just turn on the news mean just just go on twitter just go on Facebook or whatever it is and you can find somebody who's gonna fill that need. But if you want to find joy and love and peace and happiness.

The answer is Jesus.

I mean I you know I in you said this as well.

I can get caught up in it as well and you looking at looking at the different social media platforms. Looking at the news and I'm not saying to put your head out of the sand and and just did not ignore everything that is going that's not what I'm saying what I'm saying is, is there was a Christian book. It was called God's generals. It was about all of these different great pioneers of the faith and about their stories and what they did and how God called them and it's like I was watching the news I was looking at what's going on social media and I was getting angrier and angrier and angrier and then I picked up this good Christian book about peace, about hope about salvation and about these great Christian people that their stories and I said I started to feel better and I see you know what what what what do I want to be angry or do I want to be happy. Do I want to have that peace and won't have the joy if you want the piece. If you want the happiness look to Jesus, you know, he literally washes you with his word yet and so as you begin to get those feelings and what a wonderful resource is given us his work which you know you begin to look into that place.

As you begin to feel these other things in Estonia you know he is the word is really cool for me. Everything about this morning that the word to bar would be arguably the word for communion in Hebrew right and it actually usually is going to say the word of the Lord came to me and is the killer of his word were the Lord came to me and Isaiah lets that word to bar and and it starts out with this letter that would say needy adore it's that's the death sound like that the David is called a dollop and then it's be like you're gonna be at home so it's can be communing, but it's can be communing with the word and by communing with Jesus, how we do that through a good Christian program prayer, reading his word by being a Christian brother who is in a good place right up all those things bring the work and the word Lord came to him and all of a sudden he started to see solutions whether it's Ezekiel you know or slick letter lot that the you know I got it is Wikipedia.

Every man but yeah I mean in it and in we hope that today when we talk to you. We can give somebody some encouragement as a matter fact before we got on the program. Today we we prayed that God would touch somebody who is very angry right now and that he would give them peace. We we we we pray for people who are out there on that instead of resorting to violence a lot of people out there are protesting peacefully and they're not trying to cause any trouble. They just want to make their voices heard and they're doing it in the right way and I think that it's important that we don't want the peaceful protesters into the same category as the people who are rioting and looting because I think it's kind of easy to do that. But when we go out we need to love everybody.

We need to love the people who disagree with us. We need to love the people who agree with us and and I do believe that we need to try to find a common common ground in an Robbie.

I'll let you get the last word in either the word shalom so so much.

It really really does and what I've just listen to the sound of it. I know that that S sound is sort of like the wind, and how peaceful is it on a nice summer evening when you listen to the breeze come through the branches of malls, things, and then the L sound of shalom would be his is actually the sign that would mean a heart and so when your heart is at peace with the Holy Spirit is kind of blowing through it. If you can picture this and then that M is is a double meaning word.

It means Messiah. It's the word that starts Jesus last night in Christ. It means also water so just picture waves yeah and just like waves and wind and all that stuff in your heart and you're going okay.

He's got all this for me because once I'm there once I've got that piece it in my heart, then it can use me to go into a situation that's that's action-packed in all sorts of stuff going on but if I go in at all charged up right in my bringing shalom or my bringing chaos who's in authority is Christ in authority, you know, there is always you know the situation. My bringing Satan or my bringing Christ and I'm trying not meet Robbie Dimock as I realize I get fired up and unfortunately I do to all too easy. I don't want that authority.

So first of all obviously got to meet the Prince of peace. In order to make it happen so you know we would ask that you pray, Jesus come into my heart and give me that piece. Yes, we pray that you would forgive us for sin because we know that are the real struggle inside of our hearts is our own sin is our own places. If we fall short would ask you to cover that in your blood and and and we ask that you would help us repent and turn back towards home in our hearts there and that you would show us how to spend my life in Salt Lake City.
