If you are a believer in Christ. The Holy Spirit is already in you, but has the Holy Spirit filled, you know, and thanks for being here for this Monday edition of Destin for victory with pastor Paul Shepherd wherever you are and how you may be listening.

Thanks for making this part of your day when you come to faith in Christ. God gives you a new purpose and in order to accomplish it. You need a new power today pastor Paul explains what this new power is all about and how you can get visit pastor to hear any recent message on to me that's pastor and be sure to stay with us after today's message Pastor Paul joins me from a studio in California, but first let's join him for today's message tap into God's power. The church calendar worldwide is Pentecost Sunday, you always know what to call Sunday because Pentecost took place seven, four weeks after the Lord's resurrection and so this is seven weeks since Easter and Pentecost Sunday and we want to celebrate dad and I want to take this opportunity to talk to you about the importance of Pentecost. I've entitled this into God's power tap into God's power and I want you to go with me first to Isaiah 61. I just want to look at the first several words of verse one and then will turn our attention to acts chapter 2. So let's start at Isaiah 1 and look at the first several words, here's what you'll find the spirit of the Lord God is upon me, will pause right. The spirit of the Lord God is upon me. Chapter 2 will read verses one through six and then will skip to verse 12 and read a few verses there after acts chapter 2 beginning with verse one says this when the day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind and filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues as of fire, and one sat upon each of them and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews about men from every nation under heaven. And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language.

Verse 12 so they were all amazed and perplexed, saying to one another. Whatever could this mean others mocking said, they are full of new wine. But Peter, standing up 11 raised his voice and said to them. Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and heed my words, for these are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day, but this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joelle and it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out of my Spirit on all flesh your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams, and even on menservants and on my maidservants I will pour out my Spirit in those days and they shall prophesy will conclude our reading right there to talk about the importance of tapping into God's power for a very simple yet very profound reason and that is that when Jesus was about to leave their accomplish the work on Calvary. We saw him declare because it is finish I came to do what I was sent to do. I have sacrifice for the sins of mankind.

That work is done. We know from early church history, and from the pages of the Bible that Jesus spent an additional 40 days on the earth after his resurrection, showing himself to be alive through many infallible proofs, but what he was getting ready to go back to heaven. Jesus gave a very specific instruction to his followers. He said there waiting to hear from me send you the promise and you are going to need that in order to continue on in this world and do the things I've called you to do. Sadly there are a lot of folks today for getting say just a matter of accepting Christ as your Savior and then I'm set to go.

That's not what Jesus declared to his disciples. He said you need a goal to get some power because of this world without my physical presence leave me in you power of the Holy Spirit tell somebody, and I'm sure many of you already know this, that you cannot believe what Christ you can witness effectively, you can have changed the transformation that you need only spirit is not only your life but you have allowed him like we Holy Spirit like never before have come when you don't have the power of God in your life you will be in trouble because these are days where we need the Holy Spirit just like they experienced on the day of Pentecost. Because we not only live in the last days, which began at the day of Pentecost in the last of the last days.

What you mean by that will, Peter declared on because we just read it that these are the last days in the last days prophesy out my spirit started at a cost which is the birthday of the church. We are over 2000 years.

The last days we are in the last the last day now. But I'm not here to predict and try to tell you the date Jesus is coming because the Bible is clear no man knows the hour.

I don't care how spooky they think they are or how good interpretation. We've all seen the how camping types over the decades try to predict the day of the Lord's return.

You can't do that.

Nobody knows what we do know that where in the last days life of the Bible gives us sign these days and you check the signs we are available right now, so, but we know he'll be so common and so some of you story a little boy who was in his grandfather's clock shop. Some of you, but others have a pleasant report little boy with his grandfather clocks that shine according to our and so little boy count from 1 to 12 by listening to the grandfather's clock and he knew how to count from 1 to 12 and so one day as grandfather and he sent one of the clocks that shine 13 times and he said I listen you hear this child.

Tell me what time it is no more listen her 123 all the way up after 12 instead of it stopping like it normally did try one more time. 13.

John and grandpa start now.

What time is it little boy said I don't know, but is later than it's ever been before something that's where we are in terms of the history of the world God is that it's ever been before. The power of the holy writ. We needed right now. We got God's power that the church started out winning 3000 people to Christ that wasn't because of human ingenuity because of divine power, it was because of what the cost that shook the world and show people Jesus is exactly who he said he was and we need to accept him. That's why Peter was preaching we get the text there to back points that Peter made in the sermon with many other words did he speak so long that he's something to remember. Jesus was a power failure. You will be what you think somebody's other disciples, some of them don't know how to stand with you when stuff gets what you did one thing right you pick me, be with you, Mrs. Simon, Simon, son Simon, Simon, Satan, you do is wait. Jesus told him, but I pray for you and then he said, and when you are converted strengthened the brothers. Mangy disciple, but he said the board will have a power me three times but that is going to lead to his conversion saved is not only conversion you need. Sometimes you need a conversion of your mind when you realize you don't have the power to do what you want to do what the Peter because he stopped himself. When you will be right back with more of today's destined for the message from Pastor Paul Sheppard, senior pastor, destiny Christian Fellowship in Fremont, California listen to the broadcast on demand.

Pastor that's Pastor will also find a host of great resources that are online store you want to carry out God's will for you under you want to be a godly husband or wife or godly parent person who ministers effectively to others. So you can't rely on your own strength. Pastor Paul with the rest of today's destined for victory message Into God's power. Jesus three times the time he denied him want to make sure people think he was a follower of Christ Bible says he's Bible that made him a blank blank blank blank somebody not follow Christ to get up off of me.

I power failure is something that you just when you have a power failure. You don't stand up for Christ. What you need to do what you need to have your character transform your life changed you, and so we need to experience God's power 3000 saved on Pinnacle early church because of its human but because of its heavenly wind and not because of the power not because of godliness but because of God and his brothers and sisters when we got to tap into the power again.

You got understand that is not about one on the infilling, one baptism, all have in the mid-1983. That's great Lincoln since 19 one time got away my God, you should of been met, but went to the gas station so good that you have need of even make sure even after it stops people squeeze in some people at that time the Holy Spirit you will feel somehow when you get what you listen.

I want you to revisit with me to look at what happened on that original day of Pentecost. So we get a sense of how important some things are for us to walk in the spirit today. Verse one of acts two it says when the pinnacle fully come, they were all with one accord in one place right there because one of the challenges we have in today's church world is we don't get the same place: we have all kind of the nomination that logistically is not possible for us to worship together with all the brothers and sisters in our cities.

We don't have facilities where we can do that and so I get it. We don't all get to be in one place, but they did not only were there in one place.

They want a court. Now we want to court with we don't get to be in the same came to tell you what the Holy Spirit that day that day on court time off in the body of Christ. Fighting with people we need to with we need to work together against the devil. We need anybody in the family of God, each other because we really got a fight. We separate same. And when you can reach a man so when you drop out regional dropout when you have to drop one another by this method is Lutheran Episcopal church of God in Christ, simply God disciples Jesus name little man's idea when you talk about one church.

He said I will build my church my church is I will build my church, and so was man's idea and not a good one. We have to live with because that's the way we're separated now but you need to decide who names the name of Christ who believes essential Christian doctrine might need resources Christian about my ministry. I one another resources and power so that God will use us and we learned that God is not in the vision we walk in unity. Differences of opinions on secondary matters, but requires that only sexual matters we get on the same page and we need essential Christian unity.

We need to walk with others about the essential that you believe that Jesus died for us and believe essential Christian doctrine which you no matter what nomination you're part of need you to see all of the matters of uniformity when the last time you wanted everything your spouse wanted exactly the same way they wanted in the same like you don't know what I'm talking about you like it. Okay baby walk in unity, you don't know when you see your ministry okay baby smart man right there to get some stuff. Everything alright baby you so much for being here for today's destined for victory message tap into God's power. If you missed any of today's message you want to listen all of Pastor Paul's recent messages. Visit us that's Pastor pleased to have Pastor Paul join me now to talk about his new full-length book lessons from the vineyard Pastor here we are at the beginning of a new year 2022 and this end of this year's a great time with her friends can help us finish financially strong about this book.

Lessons from the vineyard that were offered were listeners who can give a generous gift.

I'm happy to be able to offer this particular resource because it allows you to understand that growing in the area of character is what makes us people whose lives are really making a difference for both time and for eternity. I don't have to tell you that we have a world that is unconvinced about the reality of Jesus.

The reality of the need for salvation and things like that the best way we can witness these days is not only with our words but with our lives. And if we will become people who have a ripe fruit of the spirit in operation in us. If we are loving, joyful, have the peace that passes understanding have temperance and patience and all of those things that are the fruit of the spirit. If we are mature in those areas.

I think that helps us be much better witnesses than if all we're doing is yapping the world really isn't impressed that much with what we have to say anymore. They'll be more impressed by the way we live out our faith and so this book is written with the hope and prayer will help each of us really grow and mature in the area of developing Christian godly character. That's what it's all about. At the end of the day it's not what we say. But it's how we live.

That's going to impress the world around us. I'm reminded of how so many people responded to Jesus when he lived on earth, not merely because of his teachings but because of the way he lived to serve all those around him again this brand-new book from Pastor Paul is called lessons from the vineyard.
