And then the last section is chapters thirty-one to thirty-four. which includes a benediction and then the record of succession of leadership.

There's significant music and poetry in this section. And then the record of Moses' death. God did not allow Moses to go into the promised land because. A couple of times He let the flesh take over. And there's high, high accountability for leadership.

God did not let him go into the promised land, but he did let him see it. He took him up on the mountain, on Mount Nebo, and let him see the land. And then Moses dies. Nobody knows where he's buried. Israel mourns.

And then j Joshua takes the home. And that's where the book of Deuteronomy ends.

So six sections. 34 chapters. 30 sermons. This will likely take us into 2025. I'm just saying.

There are resources. I really want us to engage this together. Please now I'm asking you don't just be someone who attends the lectures. I want you to engage this. There are resources available for that.

If you look on the grace notes that go out. I don't know if it's on the website or not, but a link for the journaling Bibles by Crossway. It's just the book of Deuteronomy in the ESV, and the text of the scriptures on one page, and then the next page is a blank page. For you to journal in, you can take notes in, striking statements, things, truths that really stand out. in the book of Deuteronomy.

I encourage you to maybe look that up, use that. and you can talk about it. as a family. Because that's kind of what the Shema is calling us to do, isn't it? Talk about this.

Talk about God's law. with your family in your household. On the website, there's also a link under resources for this current series, videos that you can watch, give an introduction to the book of Deuteronomy, help give you the big picture of it. Kind of like a recap of everything we've said today, you know, so, and then some, right? Different resources like that.

I want us to engage this together.

So that when we're done with this, we will be much, much closer to being a people. described by Deuteronomy 6 verses 4 to 9. a people who love God. a people who do life together. with God.

And now I'm going to ask you. to pray for this. As we study this. Week after week, as we come together, as we open the Word of God. as we hear God speaking to us through His Word.

Two things I want us to pray for. Number one. That the Word of God will be, as James says, a mirror to us. When you get up in the morning You look in the mirror and what do you see? You see what's wrong.

Need to take care of that. Yeah. May the Word of God be a mirror to our souls, to our hearts and minds. That the Word of God will reflect to us, this is what needs working on. But also I want us to pray.

That in the Word of God, which is God's self-disclosure to us. We will see. A very bright light of the goodness of God. This is not just some ogre making demands. That's how the world sees it.

God is good and may his goodness Shine. into our lives. As we study this, I've asked two people from the congregation, they can come forward now. Susan DJ, if you would come forward and they're going to word our prayers for us as a congregation, please be. listening to them, praying along with them.

Along these requests, that we would be in prayer together. Let's pray. After DJ prays, then I will pray. Let us pray. Dear Heavenly Father, Forever, O Lord, your word is settled in heaven.

Your faithfulness continues throughout all generations. Yeah. You establish the earth and it stands. They stand this day according to your ordinances. For all things are your servants.

Oh Lord. We thank you that in Christ you have chosen to set your affection upon us. We thank you, Lord, that you can thank you. You have Well, Lord, that you know our hearts. You have done the MRI.

And we delight as your children to know you and be near you. It is good for us to to be near you. We love you because you first loved us. But at the same time The wanderings of our heart are many. We are slow to listen.

We are slow to learn, and we are slow to look intently into your perfect law of liberty, But Lord, help us to remember the gospel. Help us, Lord, to remember what was done for us. That on the final day, on the May On the test. Of all tests, we have received an A plus in Christ. imputed righteousness on the final exam.

Therefore, Lord, give us the courage. To look inside our hearts, Lord, as we look into your word. And when we see the sin When we see how we are deceived, when we see our wanderings and our short-sightedness, and our self-serving ways, we would not be overwhelmed. Help us, Lord. as we often fail to trust you.

But we turn from that. And run to Christ. We know, Lord, that on our best day, We cling to Christ. And on our worst day, we cling even harder. We thank you, Lord, that your divine power.

Has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness. through the true knowledge of you, O Lord. for you have called us By your excellence. For you have granted to us your precious and magnificent promises. and we long to see your promises fulfilled in us and your kingdom to expand within our hearts.

We thank you for your investment in us. and the affection you have placed upon us in Christ. For it is in Jesus' name I pray. And for his sake, amen. Just say a hearty amen to all of that.

Amen. Thank you, Lord. Create a written word. and the living word. And in the words of Jeremiah.
