That's Dana4Hillsdale.com. Hillsdale College, Developing Minds, Changing Hearts. Let's think about this. The president increases by $6 trillion. We have always said we're going to call back money and then we're going to let government only grow at 1%.
Why? Because it's been growing at 33% with the Democrats on discretionary spending. The president said we could only look at about 14% of the entire budget to get this done. We've been able to achieve that in this short time frame. But think about what else we repealed.
This is the largest rescission in American history. You can add up all the rescissions from all the other Congress. This is greater. And what are we pulling back? CDC's Global Health Fund.
So no longer are we sending $400 million of American taxpayers' money to China. We continue to pull that back. That is a victory for the American public, and I'll debate this bill with anybody.
So that's Kevin McCarthy, who is now fighting with Democrats to just to try to in some way I don't know what this bill is. The bill, I can't say what the bill is because I'll be censored by the super awesome FCC. Yeah, because the bill is a turred sandwich. It's not what I want to call it, though. It's an absolute disaster.
The bills, this is not a savings. I spent some of my Memorial Day weekend. Thanks, Democrats. Thanks, everybody, for all the rat bastard. welfare queens in Congress.
for making me spend part of a I am, I am I am pissed off about it. I I spent some of my my time off looking over this absolute turd sandwich, and that's exactly what it is. And it's our tax dollars. Our tax dollars being used for this. That's the whole discussion.
Welcome to the show. You're a very crabby curmudgeon because who wouldn't be? with this kind of stuff. Dana Lash here with you. And This, we're gonna go over.
So, I'm gonna go over what is in this bill, some of the stuff that's in the bill. the concerns that we have with it. Because there are a lot. And I think that there's some false narratives around, you know, what is actually what the. What is in the bill and what isn't?
I mean, there's some, you know, there's some serious. concerns with A number of the things in the bill, with the entirety of the bill.
So, welcome to the show. Daniel Lash again with you. Looking listen across the country. You guys know how to listen. And if you're listening, you've never listened before, well, buckle up.
I'll greet you and do all that stuff later. I'm in a bad mood because this is, you know, I mean, we're talking like $4 trillion. Four trillion dollars. It's a lot of money. It's a lot of money we're talking about.
And so This Bill Some of it in here is the funding the the the funding part for The gr uh what is it, the Inflation Reduction Act, which isn't a reduction. It it's that that's another crap sandwich. We have a drop dead date of June 5th. They're going to probably vote on this thing Wednesday. I think it is.
Now, as far as everything that's in this bill, It I've heard people say, oh, it's blocking the IRS 6P. It doesn't do any of those damn things. It doesn't do a single bit of those. Not one. It doesn't do any of that.
For a year? You think that's a big victory? For a year? For one year? And guess what?
Guess when you have to sit here and re-litigate it? Guess when? Guess when that comes due? Any guesses? Anybody?
Election year. You're right. Election year. Yeah. Exactly.
I'm sure it's just a coincidence. Just election year. Drop dead date, June 5th. And the. Gosh.
All of the money, because you keep hearing this phrase: oh, it's clawing stuff back, it's clawing this money back, it's clawing it all back. It's mostly Uh Actually, I didn't even know that Randy Weingarten had a slush fund. I'm kinda mad that I Yeah, it was like $123 billion or something like that.
Something to that extent.
So I didn't vote. Yeah, I didn't either.
So I was reading it. I'm like, can I be mad about it? I just found out that she had it.
So I, you know, I mean, like, what else do I not know? Four trillion increase really in the debt i I mean, in the limit. Uh the So these other reset, these, I don't even want to call it a compromise. Like, for instance, The Everything that has to deal with the IRS and the 87,000 agents, and I'm looking at all the notes for this. And by the way, some of the people who watch the simulcast of the radio show are like, why does she look down a lot?
Because it's a radio show. You're watching the simulcast of it. I don't read anything in a teleprompter.
So that's how this works. The Deal th the the guts of it. The 87,000 IRS agents That's just a one year.
So that means they're going to have to have this fight year after year after year after year. Every and and this this goes up in and I mean, literally right up until cane, as we were just saying, election year.
So Democrats don't actually Democrats get to go through the whole next year not having to talk about all the spending that they've done. And then going into an election year, that puts Republicans on the hook for having to they get to accuse Republicans of wanting to cut everything. Right before an election year.
Now But wait, there's the more. With the purchase of one slab chop, you get another slab chop. There's the what is it, the age lift on the food stamp provision. Uh let's see. The Clawbacks that they call them, some of the reductions that's in coronavirus spending.
I mean, all of this, so much of this is just a year. in deal. There's um I mean, if you were asking me who gets more out of this than between Democrats and Republicans, I I mean, I've it's I think it's Democrats. They have in terms of some of the mansion stuff. I'm looking at my notes.
If the National Environment, nobody cares about this, National Environmental Policy Act 1970, blah, blah, blah. This is like red tape. I mean, it's they people act like this is a priority for Republicans that was able to get done. I mean, when you have Manchin that's pushing it as well, I immediately get suspicious. Uh to in in with it.
But The Permitting process, the reforms for that, there are uh strings attached It the unspent coronavirus money, that's some of the recoup. Uh funds. that has been quote unquote clawed back. This a couple of the things where the IRS boost tax enforcement, they're saying that it's like a twenty billion dollar in reduction. But again, this all goes year to year to year, so you're going to have to argue over it year to year to year.
Uh you also have uh looking at some of this You're also looking at the expansion through 2030 of the requirement that Able-bodied people without dependence hold a job or be enrolled in a job training program to receive food stamps. It excludes Medicaid, applies to low-income adults without independence, or without dependence, excuse me, between the ages of 49 and 54. It's going to be phased in over three years. This is like far less. than what Republicans had been pushing for.
The provision calls for a continuing resolution at 99% of the prior year spending levels, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. None I mean, all of this, the way that I look at this, all of this is Um Garbage. I'm not a fan of any of it. Chip Roy had a great fisking. He was looking at this the day, well, the night that it came out, this was Saturday night when they made the deal.
Yeah. And Members of the House, everybody had a phone call. They were all getting on the call. And they were having discussions, asking questions. Although, can I be if I'm honest, most of the call was sort of like fangirling and adoration.
Yeah, it was, you know, you're doing so. I mean, it was. I mean, that's you get on this, it's like this conference call and all of the house, you know, and everybody does this. Democrats do it, Republicans do it. I mean, you have to be able to have a quick call with members to be able to tell them what you've discussed.
I get it. But when you're asked to ask a question, I can't tell you the number of lawmakers who got up there, and it was just like a butt-kissing ceremony, not and compliments were considered questions.
Some people did actually ask serious questions.
So, one of the things that was pushed out there, and Trip Roy had this, some of the bullet points on it. The Uh I mean it's four trillion. I mean, you're looking at an increase in the debt ceiling, the Rains Act? I mean, what you're going to get weak regulatory reforms, but the Reigns Act, which had, which, you know, that was something that the House approved, you're not, you're not going to consent. And the Rains Act was the thing that was going to hold back a lot of the regulatory abuses.
So, coming up, we're going to go through a number of points on this. It's a little in the weeds, but I just, I think that you kind of have to understand this, especially with some of the narratives that are going around, because so many people are trying to sell you on the fact that parts of this are fantastic for. Republicans and for taxpayers. And if I'm being honest with you, they're not. I mean, I just think when you control the House, control the House.
Control the power of the purse. Jiminy Christmas, did do people not look at the polling before they go in and do this? The majority of people, including Democrats, were wanting less spending. Are you on crack? Did Hunter Biden slip you some of his stash?
What's going on here?
So we're going to get into that as well. With Biden, it's another day of doing nothing. I think he's calling what a lit at like two o'clock today. No, something like that. Yeah, Colin Alay did see he flew back.
He went to Delaware for and day. Went to Delaware. They arrived 11 o'clock. Press briefing. At 2:45 Eastern time today, and then that's it.
He doesn't really have anything else on his schedule. Nothing else. Hm. Nothing else on the schedule. Really easy day.
Must be nice. Must be nice. This is why all of this is going on in the debt ceiling.
Now, it was Memorial Day. Yesterday was the observance of Memorial Day. It's always the last Monday of May. And I have to say, I was watching some of what was happening with. Politics in 2024, and I saw some dust-ups.
I saw there was one minion, I just got to say, Laura Loomer, I'm not a fan of her. I think she's nuts. I just, I'm not a fan of her. I think it's just a bad operative. There are a lot of people who got their start in the shadow of James O'Keefe doing straight activism.
And then they go out and then they, I guess they're empowered by some of the success that they have. And I don't even know what achievements they have except for being loud on social media and showing up and getting video of themselves, you know, trying to crash different rallies. I mean, that's not moving the needle. That's just an exercise in vanity. And like she went off and was attacking Florida's first lady, Casey DeSantis, basically saying that she faked her breast cancer.
Well, she didn't say she basically said she faked her breast cancer. She was saying she, you know, because that's what people fake, they fake breast cancer. And just, you know, sloppy stuff. I mean, these are, I can see why Trump wouldn't endorse her in a race. Apparently, he was going to hire her, but the word on the street is that he wanted to hire her.
And then a couple of other people, thank heavens, there's at least some people who are smart in his inner circle, said, No, you cannot hire this person. She is a liability. And so he didn't hire her. And I guess she's still trying to think it's an audition phase. Also, Babylon B, they fired some dude whose name isn't even important enough for me to properly remember what it was.
Um, he was like something with bat. He was like at Babylon B, and he had Babylon B in his bio on social media, and he was at Town Hall.
So he runs his mouth. He's like attacking other Republicans in a really snotty, nasty way. And he ends up. He's going after some of the DeSantis supporters, and I guess like going after some of the female supporters. And so.
Seth Dillon, who's the CEO of Babylon B. He runs Babylon B. He saw what was happening and he intervened. And then this dude ran his mouth off to Seth Dillon. Ran his mouth off.
Seth Dillon signs this dude's checks.
Okay. He pays him. And so then this dude gets fired. And then he and these other band and acolytes are out there saying it's a free speech issue. I think that I understand that they're progressives and so they don't understand what free speech is, but let me explain.
It's not a free speech issue if you FAFO to your boss. When you FA FO to your boss, well, that's the FO part. You're going to find out. That's not a speech issue. That is, well, you spoke, but now you got to pay consequences because nobody, I don't care what industry it is, nobody gets to run their mouth off to their boss without consequences.
And that's exactly what happened. He thought he was too cool for school, and Seth Dillon humbled him.
So In addition to this, Gavin Newsom decided to run his mouth about firearms, etc. He went off in Florida saying that, well, you know, because Florida passed permitless carry, there was a shooting over the weekend. That law, by the way, hasn't even gone into effect. We're going to talk about this. We're going to go through some of the finer points of the debt ceiling bill.

Black Rifle Coffee, America's Coffee. Mm-hmm. And now, all of the news you would probably miss. It's time for Dana's Quick Five. Uh Uh All right, so first and foremost, this is a lot of stuff.
The Earth has a new moon. Apparently, scientists say. It's here to stay for at least 1500 years. It's a space rock called 2023 FW13. It was found with the Pan Stars Telescope.
In Hawaii.
Now, experts say it's gonna keep circling the planet for another 1500 years until AD 3700.
Now, they said another quasi-moon that was found back in 2016 could be a fragment. Of our moon, so it's like a new moon or quasi-moon, according to the study. They said it circles the earth, it's gravitationally bound by the sun, and so uh, it's uh, they said it's a handful. Of one of these other kind of like, how many quasi-moons did we have? Quasi-moon would be a very good like space rock band name.
Don't add it, cause it's not funny, but you know what I mean? It's like a, it's, they said, they called it Ancient Cosmic Companion. That's actually cool sounding. Who wouldn't want a title like that? Oh, just the ancient consummate companion.
I'm going to save this. I'm bookmarking this for future reference. A trove of never-before-seen emails, calendars, all kinds of stuff has given unprecedented insight into Jeffrey Pedophile Epstein's network of power and influence. It included everyone from Woody Allen, David Blaine. It talked about Bill Gates as well.
They mentioned Chris Rock, but I think it's really unfair to include Chris Rock because apparently they said that Jeffrey Epstein literally confused Chris Rock and Chris Tucker. And that's the only reason Chris Rock is mentioned in it.
So shame on them for that. We have a lot more to get into, including crime in Chicago over the week and the latest with 2024 debt ceiling and more. Download the podcast every day to catch up. The Dana Show. They accept that. We could pass right now, sweep the COVID money, sweep the IRS money that was, you know, to expand the IRS to go after the American people, three to five times more going after minorities and hardworking Americans who are poorer than the wealthy and non-minorities. Why don't we take that money, give Janet Yellen what she needs for some breathing room in June and July, and then let's actually pass a responsible debt ceiling increase.
I know the Wall Street Journal is editorializing in favor of it, but again, I know why. It's because they're looking at it in terms of these check-the-box wins. Look at the curve. The American people now, the government is 40% bigger than it was pre-COVID. Let's go back to pre-COVID levels of spending.
That's what we asked for. We're not. This deal doesn't do that. But if you undermine your speaker, doesn't that give power to them? Yeah, it does not do that.
I mean, I'm looking at some of the stuff that it does do, and we're going to get into this. I wanted, I'm limiting, first off, welcome back to the program. Dana Lash with you. It's a Tuesday Monday, you know what I mean? Uh where the Tuesdays is you know, feels like a Monday 'cause it is.
Uh and uh you can listen across the country, you can stream the show, you can watch a simulcast all over, including Channel three hundred forty seven Direc T V.
So the There was there's there's go there's there's gonna be a huge focus on the infighting on the right over this. which is worthwhile and I think it's worth paying attention to. But A lot of this Could have been avoided, I think, if Republicans had stuck to what they were demanding and what people were demanding. I mean, we literally ended. I was thinking about this on break and I was trying to find the surveys that I had saved because we had literally ended last week.
Telling you All what there was the CNN survey. What was the other one, Kane? Uh because my link is broken now. I think it was maybe like uh uh a gallop pole I think it was a gallop pole Where they were showing that the majority of people I mean, people, I'm not just talking about Republicans. I mean, there were Democrats who thought Democrats were spending too much.
That was huge. That's why CNN was freaking out about this last week. The American people want to see a reduction in government spending because everyone who has common sense sees that it's just too much. It's too much without with too little reduction.
So, some of the things, the rescinding in funding, this is one of the things that people were really looking at. A lot of it was, I was looking at how much money was being rescinded. I was looking at. Any of the the Because the Inflation Reduction Act was the Green New Deal and the funding mechanism without the funding, so this is the funding for this, and with tax credits, incentives, et cetera. Also, the Student loan debt relief, which I don't want to call it that because we all know it's just wealth redistribution.
And then In addition to that, you have the green stuff, you have the student loan relief, and you also have the IRS. And IRS in looking at some of the rescinded funding.
So they're they And again, so much of this is just predicated upon like a one year time. Love it. They had some of the clean energy credits reverted, you know, all this other stuff. There's like a whole bunch of things in here. But the big thing, the IRS.
Assessment of money and reduction of money. This all gets into just a one-year thing. The rest of it, a lot of it is just coronavirus stuff. In terms of permitting, This is one thing that was big with Joe Manchin. I mean, it really it's That's the only thing.
It's such a small thing to me in the grand scheme of things, not to. Diminish the importance of permitting as it relates to energy. This is such a small. Blip on the entire spectrum of what is required with energy in order to increase American energy independence. I don't consider this a win like some moderate Republican websites do.
I don't think that this is that's that much of a win just to get some of this permitting stuff. I mean, am I being too harsh? I mean, I understand that politics is about compromise. I had people telling me that I was just. Uh Unrealistic, I think, was the criticism, and have to realize that they have to make deals with everybody.
I actually had people tell me this and I'm like, wait a minute, do you This isn't about making deals with people. This is literally about undermining national security because this is an energy concern. And you're just like, oh, we got some permitting reform. Woohoo! You think that's it?
You think that's gonna do it? I it it's not. And so Biden had said, he was asked about this. When he was heading to Delaware yesterday, and he told the press, You guys realize you're not in the real world. He was saying that people don't aren't really care they don't really care about this stuff.
I mean, that's exactly what a guy who apparently isn't paying attention to What the polling is on the debt and about budget. I mean, that's exactly what he would say, right? That's what that guy would say. He was leaving the White House, and that's when he says, Quote, You guys realize you're not in the real world? That's what he told the reporters as he was preparing to fly back to Wilmington.
Yeah, listen to this. He just is so dismissive. What is it that you might be there? Oh yes. No question.
You guys who are you guys really realize you're not in the real world. No question. There is no reason why it shouldn't get done by the fifth. I'm confident that we'll get a vote in both houses, and we'll see. Hmm.
Yeah, yeah.
So People are. They are concerned about it though.
So this The Republican Party needs to hold the line on this because what you're looking at is an agreement to lift the debt limit. all the way up through the election.
So, a one-year, all of this is one year.
So, it kicks this can right during an election and it puts Republicans on offense. This is gamesmanship. A lot of this is gamesmanship by Democrats. They're demanding some unrealistic things so that they can stretch this out to make this happen in an election period and they can use it as a get-out-the-vote mechanism. If they can go out and tell people Republicans are trying to stop the government spending, you know, they did this back in when was this?
Kane, was it 2014 that they tried this? 2012? I can't remember. I do remember that it was when Cruz was up for reelection and that he had gone really, really hard against. The CR as it pertained to funding the government, and everyone was trying to blame the government shutdown on him, including some moderate Republicans.
But yeah, look what happened. Republicans picked up more seats.
So I feel like people forget how this works throughout history. People will vote for their pocketbook. And as long as you make a reasoned pitch, as to as to why you need to cut sp the spending. I mean, people are going to listen.
So they have um The Freedom Caucus hates this, and they have every right to.
So the thing is passed. They wanted, they were looking at $131 billion to cut annual spending for the next year. They wanted to shrink the bureaucracy to pre-COVID levels. And now they may get a cut. They might get one.
And that it looks like it's going to be smaller and for a shorter bit of time. They wanted work requirements for SNAP, and I was telling you, I just was reading about some of that. Democrats had opposed for it, so now they're considering a weaker version. Remember, it doesn't include Medicaid, and there's a whole bunch of other things that are included in there. The energy reform, they wanted this permitting reform passed by the House.
Democrats wanted it.
Well, they. Uh Republicans got a little bit of their way here. But There's there are caveats to this. The Rains Act as well. The Rains Act, remember, that was the limitation on a lot of the regulatory abuse by a lot of these agencies.
And that's not, apparently, they're going to try to settle for some weaker reforms on a lot of the regulatory abuse. Think CDC and lease moratoriums. Think ATF and pistol braces. That's what we're talking about. That was Thomas Massey's thing.
That was the Rains Act. That's what that entailed. The 1.2 trillion IRA unreliable energy tax break for all of this stuff, that's going to probably be preserved. The student loan bailout Here's the thing, it upholds it, it upholds it still, but it just pauses it for a year.
So you get another year Uh reprieve. That's it. The IRS expansion, I saw some moderates trying to spin this as, well, they reduced the amount that's being given and they've stopped it for a year. You stopped it for a year and you only reduced it by barely 20%. How is it a win?
I mean, it's not. That's that's not a win? And then they act like they're doing a really good job. $50 billion of all this money, all this money that we're clawing back from unspent coronavirus money.
Okay, well, that's not your money to claw back. That's like that's taxpayer dollars that you just have sitting there. you should give everybody a little bit of a refund depending upon how much they paid into the system to make that happen. That's what all of this is. All of this.
It's and This it keeps non-defense discretionary spending going. That's what Democrats wanted. Um There is um I mean, really the biggest If I had to sum up in one sentence What sort of wins Republicans think they got? They got some weak work requirements. They got some work requirements.
They didn't get all the work requirements that they wanted for entitlement spending. They are clawing back some of the COVID money. And they reduced By about 20% and a one-year reprieve, the IRS funding and expansion? That's pretty much it. I mean, am I wrong?
I'm happy to be persuaded to see. Otherwise, if it's true. But it doesn't look like it is. We're going to come back to this. I just have a lot more to share with you as well.
In addition to this, The um hm hmm hmm The latest in Wokery in Florida. They were apparently going to have a furry festival. Which I've had a lot of questions about why you would want to have a furry festival in Florida. No offense. In the summer.
Have they been to Florida? It's made of humid. It is. I mean, God love you, Florida. It's great for your skin, but it's made of humid.
So they had Megaplex an Orlando-based furry convention. They said they're not going to allow minors to attend this year because of Florida law.
So that means you're doing something sexual. That's what it means. Did you? I don't even, oh gosh, do I want to? I don't want to include this.
There was this story that was done on one such convention. That made Hunter S. Thompson look like a choirboy. in his writing. And the way that They uh chronicled everything that happened at this thing.
I know. Everyone's like, what? Uh yeah, it was pretty bad.
So it makes me think, hmm, they said that the law, because you can't have a minor at an adult live performance.
Well, We are Talking about I mean, if that one profile, if the one huh of this national convention was anything to go by.
So they cha but if if you're having to ban minors, that tells me that you're up to no good. I just think people get mad. I've got hate mail from people. Look, if you want to do what you want to do in your own time, that's fine. But when you try to sit here and use kids as a measure as to what, like the definitive measures to whether or not you're accepted or that you're tolerated or as like a win on someone, that's messed up.
And I'm pro and I'm not going to be in favor of that. And I don't know anybody else that would be. Goodness So that to me that was kind of a they decided, well, you know, it's just, um We're gonna have to make it. We're gonna have to ban minors from attending.
Now, while this was all going on, Target. Had said earlier that they had a bomb threat. And that it was probably someone that had been really upset over all of the stuff that they had at their stores. Kane's looking at me quizzically.
Well, it turns out that it was a false flag, and it was actually done by an alphabet ally. It was deemed to be a hoax. There were target locations everywhere from Utah to Ohio, Pennsylvania, Cleveland, Salt Lake City, and Pittsburgh. They all received correspondence Friday threatening to blow up several sites. And they cited the Pride De Month display controversy.
And then Cleveland 19 published a screenshot of the email, and it actually came from an Alphabet ally who was angry about Target's decision to back down. Look at that.
So It was someone who actually the display was for that threatened to bomb them. Hmm. right after you had such activists shoot up a Christian school. Hmm. And all the people on all the people on the right that have objected over the tuck friendly stuff.
They've just made videos and criticized it. What sounds more like a threat? Because we're going to get into that. DHS has some insane language that you need to be aware of because they're trying to, it's a hurt and rescue thing. We're going to discuss all of this.
here coming up as well. And also how much more you paid for Memorial Day? Yeah, we've got that.
So you say sense of sense. You save no money. You win no prizes. You didn't save nothing. When you see judicial rot running rampant in American companies embracing insanity and wokery, you got to fight back.

Eastern on DirecTV Channel 347. Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of the United States. And so as I look out at you. I know that you will build on that leadership because, of course, your generation grew up online. Technology that might be intimidating or unfamiliar to other generations.
to you is exciting and intuitive. You see what can be unburdened by what has been. She didn't. And you have the agility and the ability. to bring that potential.
She's at West Point. Don't you think they deserved a little bit more than that? Just a little bit more. Welcome back. That's the Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris.
What's the line again? Unburdened by what has been, you know, with agility. and ability And possibility. What other abilities are there? I mean Uh Big thing.
That's our main. Mm-hmm. It's a VP of the United States umbrella. I mean, there's like, there's so many times that she's used that line. There's a montage.
There's like an actual legit montage of it. Can we be unburdened by our VP? Unburdened by what has been. Oh. That's uh you know, she's been MIA and all this.
Diane Feinstein was apparently very confused. towards the end of last week that she was Like gaveling into the Senate. Diane Feinstein was confused that Kamala Harris was there.
So that They keep leaking they keep putting out these stories about her and leaking other people's whispers about Diane Feinstein. But you really know. Democrats They're fine with Fetterman, so I really don't see Any I mean Why is she so much worse than John Fetterman. Really? How wha I mean how?
She's not. That's a rhetorical question.
So coming up. Is there anything good in this? No, there's not. There's nothing good in the debt ceiling.
Well, in the debt ceiling bill, there's some things that you can say might be good. Out of what They have Uh And you can say that McCarthy had a bad hand. Joe Biden had a bad hand. Joe Biden actually Democrats had a great hand. I don't know why people think Joe Biden had a bad hand and like messed anything up or played it well.
I don't even know how you get he they went in demanding all these things that they wanted and they ended up getting quite a bit of it.
Now I think we're good we have to talk about What this means regarding the relationship between rank and file and house leadership, and then also some of this other stuff that's in here. I mean, are there certain things that they could have held on? I mean, do you realize that the. Again, the Rains Act, there's nothing in there about the border, nothing. Stay with us.
Well, normally when you make it, when you come to an agreement with two different parties, you have people on both parties vote for it. But the difficulty that's different than any time before is the Democrats will tell you there's nothing in the bill for them. Nothing. The president, numerous times, kept asking for tax increases, new government programs, and I just said no. And he says, well, there's nothing in it for us to vote for.
I said, well, there's a debt ceiling increase we can go forward on. I'm not sure people want to go past that deadline and interest rates go up another. Let's come on McCarthy on all of that. The debt ceiling fight, a really big true test of his power and whether or not he'll keep his speakers gabble. Welcome back to the program, Daniel Ash, with you.
this Tuesday, although it feels like a Monday. It's like a Monday Tuesday. Start of the week. You can listen across the country. Coast to coast.
You can also stream the program, Facebook, YouTube. Always good discussion there in Channel 347 Direct TV. We've been going through some of What is in the details of this debt ceiling? And now, the reason why I'm kind of focusing on it a little hardcore is because you have the drop dead deadline of June 5th, and the vote's expected on Wednesday. is what I believe.
The vote's going to be on Wednesday. And there are a lot of not everybody's on board. Obviously, there's a lot of arguing over who's going to support what. what the strategy is going to be. I get that We have a divided DC And I also get that There is a ton I mean, we just have way too much government spending.
My hurdle, because I see a lot of people trying to sell me on this notion that. Speaker McCarthy has been handled at very He's been handled a very rough very bad deal, he had a bad hand. And I I understand that argument, but at the same time Republicans control the House, that doesn't mean that they you'd have to capitulate to Democrat demands. Uh you know, just because Democrats want to have you know, some of these these require some of these uh I mean I'm looking at just the number of the climate stuff, for instance, or the work requirements. Like you're suspending work requirements for Medicaid, even.
You're not including that. It scraps. The what was it, a hundred and thirty one billion? In cuts? Uh That that was pre-coronavirus to pre-coronavirus levels in favor of Um As uh as Chip Royce described it, down or up a little spending in the at the 2023 omnibus bill.
level. That's what they rushed through in December. As I said, there's no work requirements for Medicaid. That deal scraps that. The deal scraps the tax credit uh the repeal of the tax credit crony giveaways.
Remember that, the quote-unquote Inflation Reduction Act, the tax credit crony giveaways, it gets rid of that. It scraps the Rains Act, which I can't touch on enough. Everybody knows what the Rains Act is. This was the anti-regulatory Rains Act. The Rains Act was about controlling and beating back a lot of this government abuse, this bureaucratic abuse.
Especially if it has, I think, what was it, impact on the economy of $100 million or more.
So this looks at the CDC stuff, looks like at a number of things. I mean, it's pulling back the administrative state. That's what the. Uh Rains Act is. And the left hated the Reigns Act, which makes me love it all the much more.
That's what the Rains Act does. The and see they wanted to do a PAYGO Method uh which has no teeth. Roy and others say that it can be waived.
Now, the repeal of the, here was the other, one of the big things that I was wondering about was the student loan. Relief.
Now remember that, that's one of the things that Biden was pushing. to have this debt relief and the majority of it dealt with and we the numbers that I had that I shared last week were from Office of Management and Budget.
So if you're upset with the drive bys, if they're upset with the numbers, it's from Biden's government. The majority of it was grad school debt, and the folks that were receiving it were in the upper 60% of income brackets. The A reappeal was scrapped. The deal scraps the full repeal of those loans. Only, I mean, it leaves in place $400 billion, I mean, it was over $400 billion, $400 billion something in loan for quote-unquote forgiveness.
And any congressional oversight That is inherent in the duty of in their duty, their constitutional duty in Congress that goes to the court. Because remember, the court is. That's still in the court's lap. They're still determining whether or not that's something that's a decision that the court has to make. Until they make that decision.
This takes it, this abandons the repeal of that and abandons the focus on congressional duty.
So it stays. That's how I'm interpreting this. It stays. How in the hell does it stay? How does it stay?
The 80 billion expansion of the IRS, 87,000 employees. Uh they that's that What gets a year reprieve? There's maybe A twenty what are they we're talking about, a twenty percent reduction? Which is nothing. It's weird to say that in DC when you're talking about billions, but think of it.
Absolutely nothing in about the border at all. I had said that there's two things that Congress should not be doing. They should not even be flirting with the idea of negotiating with us while we have an open border, number one, and while we have all of this regulatory abuse, and the abandonment of the Rains Act just further empowers that. I mean, we have the ATF that's trying to. Criminalize millions of people around the country over a pistol brace that they said was completely fine to own just until a minute ago.
And there's nothing about that in here at all. Nothing. There's nothing about that overreach. Nothing. And then it raises the debt ceiling, what, to like four trillion dollars.
Now, you could say that there are a couple of things in here that are, and that's what I have some of the moderates telling me. This is what the moderates are saying. They're saying, well, there's a couple of good things in here. And the good thing is that there's this provision that Congress, forcing Congress to give up the practice of funding government through just one singular omnibus bill and actually pass, as it is supposed to do, 12 appropriations bills to cover the federal budget. And that looks like that, that's the regular order and how business should be conducted.
That's good. They also say that the provision to have, because right now the provision calls for government to operate under a CR, continuing resolution, and lawmakers are waiting to see when the cuts would be triggered and having these cuts go into effect, that's good. That's a nothing burger to me. How am I supposed to be like, oh, that's a good thing. That completely just takes away the pain of everything else.
Then you have, I think that this is kind of a catch-22. I think that they're trying to box in Republicans with some of the green stuff.
So, to go back to that really quickly, they're discussing the imposition of a one-to-two-year time limit to complete environmental reviews for energy and infrastructure projects, expediting permits. Uh that ol that means that you're going to have a bunch of stuff, uh uh boondoggles that are going to go in fast uh and Republican requests that could go slow.
So that's pretty much it. If you want me to just distill it down to a shot, that's it. Freedom Caucus is not happy. They're not happy at all, and they shouldn't be. I I mean, I just uh I don't think that they should be at all.
They have that audio. Yeah, listen to that. Go ahead and play this, 'cause this just came out. This is why we are on break. Listen.
Thank you, Perry. Jackson Return Times. Were the bill to go forward, would you file a motion to vacate the chair? Look, we are focused. I'll let each member speak for themselves.
But for me, I am focused on defeating this bill. What happens post that and the agreements that we have, we will decide once we've determined the disposition of this bill and its finality. Yes, ma'am. Yeah. They're not happy.
In the meantime, has everyone gathered over the weekend for Memorial Day? Costs of staples rose. I'm sure you saw that. As you know, we had the solemn observance of Memorial Day. I'm sure you saw that.
as you were having dinner with your family. Uh like uh apparently condiments and buns were more expensive. MarketWatch says a new study found that barbecue staples were more expensive than they were last year. Condiments actually led the charge. The increase in price for condiments was actually greater than that in the increase in price for beef.
32 ounces of ketchup increased almost 30 percent this time last year. 20 ounce container of mustard risen alm over 13%. In terms of price. And with beef, it's pretty much the same. If you're doing like hamburger, I think it was like maybe what, two cents less per pound than it was last year.
Steak is about 3% more than it did last year. Pork chops. pretty much we're comparable, a give or take, like two cents.
So, they saved you cents. that you lost and buy new catch up. That's what this is what Memorial Day. This is this is where I wish Democrats. or Republicans rather, would get their messaging right.
You know what? They could have had, let's look at what you're going to be doing over Memorial Day. You know, while it's the solemn observance of those that we've lost, while they were serving their country. People still, including Veterans, people still They grill, they go out and barbecue, and I think that's a great opportunity to highlight to people: this is how much actually, this is how much more you're paying because of inflation due to the economic policy of this administration. I mean, there's a way to showcase this here on Memorial Day weekend.
That's what Democrats were doing. They were holding out, trying to get all of these people to pay for everyone else's student loans. You know, on Memorial Day weekend, Democrats were fighting to make sure that people who were getting entitlements didn't have to meet a work requirement, even if they were able-bodied. That's the message at Republic. Where in the hell is the RNC leadership on this?
That's your job. Your job is to push that kind of messaging. That's how they should have presented this going out there. That also helps you in terms of public opinion. Uh and pressure on lawmakers to Tackle the debt ceiling bill, especially with the public on your side for the crying out loud, as I said a million times.
The majority of people want a decrease in spending. They they're getting pinched in their pocketbook. And instead We've got mire down in the weeds.
Now Speaking of Memorial Day, Bud Light Across the country, sold out beer aisles. Lots of photos. of tons of Bud Lightstock. Every other beer sparse on the shelf. But uh Bud Light was still there.
I mean In some instances nobody even grabbed a pack. That's wild. Uh This was in Wisconsin all over the country. It has been An ar like a marketing Armageddon. for Anheuser-Busch and Bev.
It has been awful for them. I mean there are sh there have been photos all over the internet. All of her social media taken. Going into the beer aisle. All the Bud Light stuff is right there.
Nobody, hardly anybody's touching it. It's all right there. It's pretty wild. to see. That wasn't a conservative thing that people were reacting to.
That was just people in general. They've even been offering rebates. They said that Albertsons, for instance, in Las Vegas were selling. For $9.97 digital coupon, you get a rebate up to $15. I mean And they were still stuck.
No one was taking advantage of it. $14.99 with a $15 rebate.
So they were literally giving you the beer for free. Literally, they're giving it to you. and you take the beer and you go to the checkout and then it rings up as free. And still no one was buying it. You could not give this you could not give the damn beer away.
Dang. That's how bad they messed up. I mean, when you can't sell beer, you're bad. Beer is, we talked about this. That's what, I mean, normally if it's free beer.
Can you imagine? Let's just stop for a second. Imagine that there's a store like Hey Guys We've got uh six packs and uh twenty-four packs. You spend, it's $14.97, but you get a $15 rebate. You get free beer.
People would be raiding that store like uh like six AM on a Black Friday. Anything else, that's what would happen. That's how bad they messed up. Beer is something that you can I mean, oh my gosh. And when you can't give it away?
I mean, think all the college kids. Just think all the college kids getting together every weekend. Everybody was not buying this.
So, this isn't a conservative thing, America. It is just people are done. They're fed. Up. Don't let them mischaracterize this and make it just, oh, this is just it's not.
And now, all of the news you would probably miss. It's time for Dana's Quick Five. So, a few things here. I don't do cruises for this simple reason. I don't know if you guys have seen some of the.
Some of the news on this. It's a carnival cruise ship. It was evacuated after decks flooded and hallways were destroyed when a treacherous storm struck off the coast of South Carolina. It's the Carnival Sunshine. It was caught in a treacherous storm.
Photos and video show. The hallways flooded, downpipes, toppled doors. They were trying to dock in Charleston. People said they were sick. They were kind of, I mean, it is bad.
I mean, it looks like it's like almost. Like halfway to your knee, the water and some of the hulls. It's bad. They said that they had to reduce their speed to five knots per hour when the wind started hitting the ship at 80 miles per hour. That's crazy.
So, um, oof. They said that the ship, I mean, they had to, I can't even imagine. What do you do? Like, you're on a vacation and then you get in a storm. Like, if you're on a normal vacation, you just weather out the storm, what, you're a day inside.
But what if you're on a cruise ship? What do you do? Yeah, let's hope you don't die. This was awful. Chicago Memorial Day weekend, very, very violent.
In fact, there were 11 killed and 50 wounded in shootings, including a 34-year-old man shot and killed while walking home in Lakeview. They saw a very violent start to the summer. And they said that this was, you know, for Memorial Day weekend, the numbers are higher than they were last year. Democrat policies. Stay with us.
Between Twitter, Facebook, or any of your social media, there's a lot of information out there. That's why your lovable curmudgeon is here to help you make sense of it all, live or on demand. The Dana Show. What's your latest view on whether or not we're likely to see a recession before the 2024 election? You know, the R word that I'm hearing the most is about resilience, that this economy has proven remarkably resilient.
You know, we've gone through a lot, a pandemic, we've seen a war that's spiked gas prices, and today gas prices are down again, and prices are coming down across the board, and the job record is really exceptional. Yeah, so get over it, peasants. Get over it. I That's what they're saying. I just saw the sweet spin.
These are the top economic advisors for the administration. Saying that No, there's you're not seeing that's the Lael Bernard Brainerd. Yeah. Yeah. saying that No, no, no, they're down again, guys, no worries.
That's one of his top economic advisers.
So now you can see why he was telling the press. as he left yesterday to go to Delaware. Why This was all inside their heads. He doesn't, they're you don't live in that world. You don't live in the same world.
He doesn't think that this is going on. He is entirely out of touch. He's not in charge. Welcome back, bottom of this. Second hour.
not in charge.
So This back and forth. And we've been talking about the debt ceiling because there's supposed to be a there's supposed to be a vote. On Wednesday. This is gonna be a knockout drag out. We're going to continue following this.
So just don't think that we're not still covering it. But there's a lot of other stuff that we have to hit, including a ton. I call it wokery, even though I'm so tired of this word. The overuse of it is making me hate it. But It's the quickest way.
to describe Marxist critical theory.
So get over it. We're calling it woke. That's what it's called. Because I get, I've said, I we were talking about how like Steve and I both are kind of tired of it, but it still is the way it is. And I've had other people, I had a lot of people, a lot of you agree, actually.
But it's so much easier to call it that than, oh, it's well, it's Marxist critical theory, and here's how it differs from class warfare. I mean, then you have to get in this big explanation. People know woke. They know the branding.
So go with that. That's a strength.
Now I had made mention earlier of some of the craziness D H S has been involved in, including issuing an advisory about rising threats against the Alphabet community.
Now, what did I tell you? Was this in our headlines last segment or last hour? Where I said that one of the target There was a target, a bombing of targets, a threat called in, and when it was investigated, it was determined to be an alphabet activist.
Okay, so That was an alphabet activist that was threatening to bomb targets.
So, DHS is issued, according, and this is from ABC. This is an ABC story. They said threats against the alphabet. And the reason I say alphabet is because it's LGBTQIA. I don't even know what half of the hell that means.
Community Intensifying, Department of Homeland Security. They said anti-alphabet legislation has been introduced in recent months. ABC breathlessly reports, quote, Threats of violence against the Alphabet community are on the rise and intensifying, according to a new briefing by the Department of Homeless Carter. They distributed this at the beginning of the month. They said that These issues are inspiring threats.
and calls the violence against the alphabet community. For instance This is an actual paragraph in here from a quote from DHS. Quote. High-profile attacks against schools and faith-based institutions, like the recent shooting in Nashville, have historically served as inspiration for individuals to conduct. copycat attacks end quote.
Um They're referring to A mass shooting that was carried out by a chick who identified as a boy. And was a trans activist. How is that inspiring threats against the alphabet community? When a member, an activist member of said community, literally shot up a school. You're You're claiming They're on the bodies of these kids.
And adults that were killed and targeted because of their faith or their faith association, the fact that they were Christians, targeted by this alphabet activist.
Now, DHS is saying, no, the threats are against. I mean, no, it seems like the threats were against the Christians there. They said, well, there's been social media chatter. They said, This guy, guys, this is an actual sentence. Am I?
Okay. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. I feel like Mugatu from Zoolanger here for a second. Let me read you this sentence. DHS analysts also cite social media chatter celebrating the recent mass shooting at a Nashville church school.
Who were the people out there celebrating this? and pushing it and trying to protect it. Because it wasn't people who were considered to be opposite of the alphabet community. I saw everyone from the view to, I mean, who all these people on the left were out there running defense for this murderer? What are they talking about?
This is insane. This is a psyop. It is an absolute psyat. Because they are Insisting that one of a member of the radical member of the alphabet community shooting up a school, a Christian school. means that the alphabet community is the victim.
Does it make any sense? And they cite all these other bills, like they keep going back to the don't say gay bill. the Florida bill which for the umpteenth time That phrase nor the word gay is nowhere in the bill. And furthermore, I went to Florida after they passed the bill and I got out and on the Tarmarack, I went gay, and nobody did anything.
So I hope nothing happened. It that was about allowing parents to consent to age appropriate material in the library. The issue was with age inappropriate material that was appearing in the library. Graphic novels that showcased the individuals in the graphic novels engaging in intercourse. graphically.
And that Parents were like, Why should our sixth graders have access to this? Seems like it's age inappropriate. And all the left and celebrities are going, That means you can't say gay. If your sixth grader can't go into a elementary school library and read a graphic novel about two dudes having sex, then I mean, I guess you can't say gay in Florida. Make hunters' safety a mandatory.
class and watch how fast they switch. They said 14 states have passed laws restricting it's not about the restrict no one's telling an adult that they can do they can't do something. They're saying when you're talking about strangers' kids, age inappropriateness. Nobody is even advocating for the government to tell people what they can and can't do. I don't know any conservative that's advocating for that.
All anyone is saying is that Um, we have age restrictions on like strip clubs. Maybe if it's a drag brunch and there's a dude wearing a thong shaking his ass in front of everyone, maybe make sure your kids aren't in the front row.
Now, I get the capital L libertarian argument that's like, well, the parents want to mess up their kids and let them mess up their kids. I understand what you're saying. I don't agree with it. I just think no, I don't agree with it. I think that that uh-uh.
Yeah. I also think that that sidebar That is predicated upon having a virtuous society. And if you remember what Madison had said, not just Madison, but also Adams and everyone else, that virtue is absolutely a cornerstone of freedom because from virtuous people, you have virtuous leaders. And when you have everything going to hell in a handbasket, well, then there you go. Your representation will match it.
So will culture.
So you can't really leave your kids to the lions that are the. the parlance of our times or the culture of our times, can you? I don't know, that's a separate debate. But to me, this looks like a hurt and rescue kind of thing. Doesn't it?
I feel like it is. I mean, it is a psyop. I think it is a psyop.
So I don't know. I This in addition to, and I have a couple of other things here. This, in addition to the Kohl's, so Kohl's apparently is getting into it. Let me ask you guys this. Do any of you have an issue with like the Pride merch?
Can I just say, I was at Lowe's over the weekend, right? I had to get some, I had to get a, because we have a volunteer garden, we were like redoing part of the garden. And uh excuse me. And I We were at Lowe's and I noticed a number of the plants there had. I don't know, maybe I have it on my phone.
I should have, I'm going to send this to Slack so you guys can see it. I wasn't planning on talking about this, but I saw we were, so we were at Lowe's. And they're you know, they have all the plants out in the front, the garden center.
So you have like your tomato plants and you know, your peppers and all this other stuff. And so while we were there getting some of the things, there was like this whole section That, I guess. I was trying to fi there there were a whole section of planters that were like rainbow. And rainbow planters. But not like decorative you know what i mean it was like message rainbow A whole and they had like whole parts of their garden center And like rainbow.
No, we don't really look at it and think rainbow anymore. We look at it and we think, oh, that's the alphabet stuff. Cain's seen it.
Okay, so Kane. Those are statement plants, correct? Those are the vegetables for the gay people. Yeah, it appears that it would be.
So the gay people at Lowe's. And they didn't have any other message on it. It was just that. Right. And I'm like, really?
Like with the plants? Because I mean, until Juan shows it up. I mean, I had this on my phone. that I'm showing to the simulcast viewers. It looks like there's some impatience.
And then they had a whole other section where there were some, I think, like pepper plants or something. I'm like, who are these gay peppers?
So that means I guess you're not going to get volunteers.
So, I mean, there was an inter. Yes. Why does it have to go that far? I have to buy plants now based on how I have sex with people. That's where we're at with activism.
It's a parallel economy. I'm only gonna buy the plants that represent having sex with other people that have the same genitals as them. Because that's how I shop. It goes so far. Who does this stuff?
Was it just this one rack? No, there was way more. Oh, yeah, there was totally more. But I was trying to surreptitiously take a photo. Like, I was going about my business, and I'm like, I am not here to start anything.
I am a busy person and I'm in a bad mood, you know, because you guys can't tell, but I'm wearing like this big long thing because I'm sunburnt. I never get sunburnt because I'm like religious about SPF. And apparently, well, I kind of forgot.
So, you know, I look like, I literally look like a red pepper. And, um, Oh, for those of you who are like, oh, Dana, I'm watching the simulcast. No, you don't. No, that is called, ladies and gentlemen, cover-up makeup. That's what that's called.
But so I, you know, I didn't want to be out there. I was like, you know, just I wanted to get my stuff and go.
Well, it looks like they're charging 15 bucks for a poorly made. There's literally a whole, there's like a whole section in the front that had the rainbow stuff. You can see it from the parking lot. Right. You know, like you can a drag queen.
I mean, it's like, you know, you can see it. It's pretty visible. I'm like, why do you have to have things sectioned off like this? These are the gay plants. And I even made a joke, and someone who was there apparently did not appreciate it because I was near a woman and this dude.
And I was like, oh, I guess this is where the gay people get their plants. And this woman kind of gave me a look and I was like, don't. Like, don't even. Maybe that Lowe's has sales success. You know, that's the thing.
I don't care. The plants. Here's the difference. Here's the difference. They're not going after.
I mean, are they using kids as the measure of acceptance?
Well, I don't feel accepted by society unless I can shake my thonged ass in front of your children. I mean, Yeah, that's it. This is a plant in a thing.
So I didn't, I'm like, I don't care. I mean, it's a, you know, you can mark it however you want to. I think it's stupid, and I'm making fun of it on air, as is my right. And I'll probably write a whole post making fun of it later and put it on Twitter and make fun of it, and Instagram and make fun of it. But you're not shaking your thing in front of kids, so you know what I'm saying?
Like, there's a difference. If you want I mean, if you want to show everyone, look everyone, I'm getting this plant to show you how I have sex with other people. Look at they put in this. Where is the plant for the people who like cut their sandwiches vertically and not triangularly? I think that's just as important in representation.
Business idea. Business idea. I know we have to get going, but I want to make fun of this for at least another hour without break. And I know you guys want that too. I know, we have Florida man coming up.
I there someone may have or may not have a bit Bitten off by a gator. I don't know. I mean, you know, who knows? All right, so we're gonna. It's his life mission to make bad decisions.
Yeah. It's time for Florida Man. If I'm being honest, like I'm still mentally at the rainbow plant thing at Lowe's. Like that's where I'm at, but anyway, okay, just, you know, just wanted to establish that. Uh okay, so there's like A lot of people sometimes they you know, they get into disputes.
and they resolved them. And sometimes they don't, and sometimes they just light the person with whom they're arguing on fire. Like this one Florida man did in Tampa. On Sunday, he was arrested because he poured gas on a dude and then lit him on fire. Two dudes in Hillsborough County, Sheriff's Office released this info, said that two dudes got into a verbal argument at a mobile gas station.
And it caused then Earl Hargrove Jr. to go get some gas from the pump. And then instead of using the gas to fill up his car, he poured it on the victim and then lit him on fire. He purchased the guest though and then like went and you know. The victim was transported to Tampa General where they're Currently treating life-threatening injuries.
So they charged Hargrove with first-degree attempted murder and aggravated battery. He's being held without bond in Hillsborough County Jail. I just want to know what you were arguing over that you felt the need to light a dude on fire. Like My gosh.
Okay, so. A Drunk woman literally just sped down a Florida beach, narrowly missing families. And it's on video. It is crazy. Although the video is a little, I mean, it's a little jumpy.
I think it's this website. A Florida woman was arrested on Memorial Day weekend. She was driving erratically. She almost hit several families, their kids and pets, at Samirna Dunes Park. 26-year-old Sarah Ram Sammy ended up plowing into a tree after Volucia deputies believed that she was speeding down the beach at 50 miles per hour.
They said she barely missed a kid by by inches. And they approached her. She and her passenger were standing in the sand. They asked, What happened? She goes, I'm not sure.
I was the driver.
Okay, clearly. And they arrested her. They said that she had one 0.153.
So two times the legal limit. That's what happened. Don't drive drunk on the beach in Florida. Don't. Stick with us.
Third hour next. I say this with conviction. I think Ron DeSantis is far more dangerous than Donald Trump for a very specific reason. Donald Trump is willing to ignore the rules, ignore the Constitution, and frankly lead to the incitement of January 6th. But Donald Trump is a transactional figure.
He'll do whatever it takes to win. Ron DeSantis, I believe, actually in his ethos, is a culture warrior who wants to take us back 100 years and believes he can use the Constitution to that end and ultimately has a very dark vision of what America will be.
So the idea of pardoning January 6th convicts, if you will, at this point is because he believes we are engaged in a real war that he has to win. Did this tool bag just like inadvertently cut an ad for the DeSantis team? Because it's what it sounds like. I don't even know who this guy is. We had him come up.
The guys got him for audio today. And I looked and I was blocked. I don't know who this guy is. I am today years old hearing of this cat. And he's had me blocked on Twitter, you pansy.
Welcome back to the program, top of the third hour. Your mean ignorant cremudgeon here with you.
Sometimes lovable. Dana Lash, you can list. It's true today. You can listen, it's because I'm sunburnt. By accident, don't lecture me.
I love SPF. It's my best friend. But... I think mine's expired. It was bad.
That's why I'm dressed like a mama on TV. Anyway.
Well, you can listen coast to coast, you can stream the show, YouTube, good discussion. Sure, they're making fun of it too. It's okay, you get a pass. Uh, Facebook and channel 347 on DirecTV.
So, I had to legit look at look this dude up. I was like, who is this guy? Who is he? And um, I Yeah, he's David Jolly. He's a former Republican, as if you didn't know, because if you were watching the simulcast, you might be like, who?
What's with the MSNBC logo in the box? Yeah, because he's an analyst there. That's what these guys do, like Kensinger. They lose favor in the Republican Party because they're too. They turn into Honestly, they turn into leftists and then they lose influence.
And so, in order to feel good about themselves again, they sign a contract with like the MSNBCs of the world and they go there because those are the only people who will take their opinion seriously. But the sad thing of it is that nobody would care who David Jolly is if he wasn't milking the teat that was, I was the former Republican so hard. That's the only reason his opinion counts. It's because I was a former Republican. I used to be a member of Congress, this former Republican, and he's willing to trade on that.
and then talk smack about his own side. And then MSNBC props him up. As an excuse to say, as justification for their claims that, well, Republicans are just too, they're so mean and so bad, too constitutionalist. I mean, what he was describing right there sounded like a campaign ad. Can you believe he wants to take us back to more of the Constitution?
Ho ho! Scary. More constitutionalist?
So terrified, much scares. It's a just gosh. Yeah, this This turd has me blocked on Twitter. I don't even know who he is. Should I feel impressed or slighted?
I don't know. I'm flattered, I think. It's like sometimes I go I find these people I'm surprised Kinzinger hasn't. Gavin Newsome follows me for some reason. He really likes the abuse.
He fought why I have no idea why he follows me. I have an assortment of Some of the most interesting followers ever. Boy George, who I've always loved Culture Club, George Clinton. Uh-huh. of George Clinton P Funk.
I've always loved them. That was like one of the first C D's I asked for when I was in junior high. I legit straight up asked for his music because I liked it. And my mom was like, what? Uh but he follows me on Twitter.
I think they like the gun stuff. I think he likes the gun stuff. Like my the two way stuff. Right? Big Boy follows me on Twitter.
I think it's the two-way stuff. I mean, we don't always agree with everybody, you know, but you can still be cool to other people. That's what I'm totally fine with that. But this guy? Who is this?
Who is you? Who are you? What's good, David Jolly? I don't even know who you are and you block me.
Now, if he was still in office, could I Could I claim that I was like my rights were being violated or something? Yeah, and sue them and like get money. I feel so slighted. Look, I'm proving my damages. All right, so.
This um Yeah. I don't we we we were talking about the dead seal and if anything changes with it being horrible, I'll let you know. I'm kind of done. We spent about two hours talking about it. Coming up, we have Judge Janine Piero, who's going to be joining us.
She's got a new book out, Crimes Against America. You know It's shocking, she's not a fan of the administration, Kane. I don't know if you knew this about her. You know, she's not a strong personality or vocal about her beliefs at all. You're way off of it.
You're just being silly. I have to tell you, whenever her name comes up, whenever she calls me and I see her name on Caller AD. She is the call that I look most forward to because she God love her. She's like the type of woman I would hang out with. She just doesn't say hello.
She's like, well, listen. She just doesn't. It's so great. I love it. She's so animated.
And she loves dogs too. All right.
So she's going to be joining us at the bottom of the hour. But I'm sure she's. has some thoughts about The debt ceiling in your tax dollars, as do you.
Okay, so can I touch on the Wokery again, real quick? Because now I put this on Twitter and I have everybody. And Lorraine, who moderates the discussion on YouTube, and she's a contributor at Chapter and Verse. She also reminded me about coals. Man, I have a cousin and an aunt that love them some Kohl's.
Like, they're into the Kohl's cache and all of that. Which I didn't, is that like that's a big thing? They're like really into it. The latest retailer facing a boycott because they were selling a Pride onesie for babies. They say it's time for a bud lighting.
That actually is the most, I love that it's a verb now. Yeah, you're gonna get Buddlet. It's what's gonna happen.
So They had I look, I don't ugh. I don't care. If you have merch for whatever you want to have merch for. But when it is Can we be real? It is sexually a thing.
Why are we acting like acknowledging what it is as a slight on someone's? private adult decisions. Everyone has their own opinions. I don't care right now because I'm busy. and I'm sunburnt and I don't care and I don't want to be bothered with your drama.
You know, not my monkeys, not my circus. But when you've got a onesie. It's weird. Right? Like, do you have to merch out the babies too?
That's what this is. It's all merchandising. Like, I think the plants at Lowe's are a little too much. Like, really, here's your gay tomato. Your gay mato.
How is it going to produce? Anyway, uh so the They said in case you need clothes one I mean there was like somebody somebody Because Give me a smart elect. take on this. They said in case you need clothes for your gay or trans three-month-old Kohl's has you covered. I mean, they have the sizes are like for three months.
Why? Like, why does that need to be a thing? Why? Why is it why uh for the love? Why?
Why do we gotta do it? They said it's the baby Sonoma Community Prod bodysuit set. And It's the flag and then It's so some of it is so trying. There's like a wiener dog and a kid in a wheelchair and Somebody running with the flag. I forget what all the other ones are.
So they have Part of it is like the It looks like a boomerang. on the flag, it's the white, pink and blue, and then brown and black. I don't even know. Anyway, they messed it up. I don't even know.
But there's they why is this a thing? I don't know. I just, and then they have love, love is love and pride of the rainbow.
Okay, just stop. Nobody cares. Just stop doing it with the kids. Can adults stop make this is adults making kids fight their battles. You are a loser if you have to have kids fight your battles.
I get that that's a thing on the left, right? I mean, I saw it at Parkland. I saw it after seeing it. I've seen it over and over again. Adult leftists love to hide behind kids and use them as shields.
to deflect any kind of criticism or disagreement. Or anything else related to the viewpoints that they are. promoting publicly. It's the same thing. Just stop.
Do you have to merch everything out? If you want to have like a grown adult t-shirt, fine. But I'm just like, it's let's be honest about what it is. It is a sex-based thing. like actual intercourse-based thing.
Why is whether or not the kids are involved the measure of tolerance? These same people lose their minds. over gun right groups teaching gun safety courses to kids. They lose their minds. Then Jesus doesn't even have anything to do with sex.
See what I'm saying? And that's actually an issue of safety. They just act like we're indoctrinating, you know, you're indoctrinating kids or something.
So I don't. I The b now they're bud lighting. It's like the Christmas tree lighting, it's the bud lighting. The Move of this, and it's not just when you saw how much money Target lost. I still Recoil when I hear people say, oh, it's just a conservative thing, or it's just, it's not.
I'm sorry, but Target's not losing that much money. As much as I want to inflate the importance of my own viewpoints and use that as a way to try to convince you to agree with me more because popularity. Uh If I'm being honest, this is more than just conservatives that are doing this. These are moderates, independents, and probably some classically liberal people too. They're just being quiet about it.
They're not like, I'm boycotting this. They're just not going. Same thing with Bud Light. I mean for the love, free beer with a rebate. And people weren't bu weren't getting free beer on Memorial Day weekend.
That's not just conservatives. That's everybody. And I understand that some people are worried about conservatives not understanding the difference between strategy and tactic, and I agree with that.
However, I think the overall strategy of these companies, I think they fumbled with these tactics. Because I don't think that the strategy of all of this earned media attention is helping.
Now, with the North Face stuff, that might be different. Because I don't know anyone who is serious about going outdoors that goes to North Face, right? North Face, if I'm being real, is like the Lululemon of outdoor wear. Everyone I know who wears Lululemon, like they were they're the people I Literally all my girlfriends who work out do not wear it. They don't wear it at the gym.
They wear it out. They don't actually wear it at the gym. They wear their old ratty stuff at the gym. But that's like for people who go to Planet Fitness in full makeup. It's like that kind of stuff.
Nobody goes to North Face. And Actually, wears this stuff out. Nobody's gonna. I'm gonna go and hi, I'm gonna go hike the Incan Trail. Gonna go to North Face and pick up some gar.
No one does that. That's not what they wear. They don't wear that stuff. It's not for serious people, but a bunch of nut-eating Birkenstock-wearing tofu lovers who drive Volvos love it.
So, maybe with that, I don't think the North Face is going to actually be impacted by. You know, if those people th I don't think they're going to lose their little market share. But they're a little bit they've become a little more niche. If that makes sense.
So this, uh the culture thing, it's more than just It's not even really about who's gay and who's straight and who's, you know, it's about can we not have the kids involved? Can we not bully other people? Because it feels like the pendulum is swung totally the other way. It went from Behind closed doors, don't ask questions too. The doors are open, and you have to be their bedside and applaud.
Big difference. All I'm saying. We have headlines on the way. I have a Florida headline that I really don't want to save for tomorrow. Kane found it.
I really don't want to save it for tomorrow. I just, I'm going to need a really long time to talk about it because it has to do with a ghost. And I break in. It's hysterical. But we do have headlines, and then we have Judge Janine Piero, who's going to be joining us as well.
Do I call her? Like, she always is like, call me Janine. I'm like, okay, Judge Janine. She's like, that's not what I meant. Like, you're a judge.
Like, I don't, you know, I don't know. I'm old school. And now, all of the news you would probably miss. It's time for Dana's Quick Five. Kane, this might interest you because you're kind of a 90s, you know, coming of age young adult as well.
90s video games and Vegas neighborhood streets. Las Vegas, I think this is our friend Larry who sent this over. Las Vegas neighborhood has streets named after a 90s video game franchise. It's in Henderson, Nevada, and it's part of the Cadence Master planning community. And they said that it's done by Harmony Homes and they have all the street names are inspired by Pokemon.
So all the creatures.
So they have like Jigglypuff street. Which is actually kind of amazing. Meet me at Pikachu in Jigglypook. Right. I guess.
Right. So that's kind of neat. I mean, it's different. I mean, that would, I would want to know who lived there. Yeah, it's pretty cool.
No relax. Right. Alright, so Indiana. I did not know this ban existed. It's going to lift, guys, just in time for summer.
The ban on throwing stars in Indiana is lifted. Under Senate Enrolled Act 77, Indiana is going to regulate throwing stars the way that they do any other knife-like weapon, which includes a ban on school property. Business owners say they're taking advantage of it. They have people coming into the flying squirrel X throwing in Speedway. They said that people are wanting to like throw stars as well.
He said, but he's going to dull the edges of some of the blades. But now I want a throwing star. I went nunchucks after I saw seeing John Wick 4. Like, I am hell-bent on becoming an expert at nunchucks now because that was amazing. Also, what is this?
Oh, this is the Chicago Impox Outbreak. I don't even know what this is. A cluster of impox? This is the monkey box? Heralded is a they said that they the way that they responded to this these outbreaks in 2022 was considered a public success.
But they said that now there's like a problem in Chicago. I don't know. I would think that the shootings are like the big issue. What's and China rejected the Biden administration's request for a meeting between their military leaders? Judge Janine Pirro joins us next.
Whether you just want to stay informed or just hear her vent about all the ridiculousness in the world, make sure to download the Dana Show Podcast wherever you get your podcasts. Mr. President, do you believe Speaker Laparthi has the vote and did he negotiate in good faith? I think he negotiated with me in good faith. He kept his word.
He said what he would do. He did what he said he'd do. And I have no idea whether that votes. I expect he does. But I don't think he would have made the agreement.
That's uh President Joe Biden, who is saying that he thinks that Speaker McCarthy negotiated the Well, the redacted sandwich in good faith. That's as best as I can describe it. Welcome back to the program. Your love of book Remudging here, Dana Lash. You can listen coast to coast, and you can also watch the simulcast of the Nationally Syndicated Radio Show, YouTube, Facebook, channel 347, DirecTV.
On this issue, Biden, Dead Ceiling, The Left in General. There's a great new book out. Crimes against America, the left's takedown. Of our republic, authored by one of my favorite people ever on TV. I love this woman, Judge Janine Pierrot.
And she joins us now in the simulcast. And I think we've got it. We got her. And she always looks great. Hello, Judge Janine.
How are you? I'm doing well. Congrats on the book. And I love the cover. You look like you're about to whoop somebody, they probably deserved it.
I don't know. Look pretty upset, but you know what, Dana? First of all, did you call yourself a lovable curmudgeon? Yeah, I'm not as lovable today, but some days I am. No, you're lovable, but you're far from a curmudgeon.
That's so nice of you to say. A curmudgeon is an old person. Last I looked at him. Curmudgeon is someone and I'm bad-tempered, especially an old, but believe me, if anyone's a curmudgeon, I am older than you are.
Well, I appreciate that. Yeah, I still sometimes, I think mentally I'm like 190 and I'm mean.
So I don't know. That may work. But congrats on your book, Crimes Against America. This is fantastic. A must read for anybody.
I got to get because this all dovetails in with it. Joe Biden talking about Speaker McCarthy. Do you think that, what is your take on the way that this turned out? Do you think that this is a compromise that you can live with, or is it just bad all around this deal?
Well, you know, I'm not that, I have to tell you, Dana, I'm not that on top of this stuff. But what I can tell you is I like what I do see. And for the first time, people are, you know, they're drawing lines in the sand. People are sticking together. And you know what?
I like the way Speaker McCarthy was elected speaker, how Kevin was elected speaker. I like the fact that the Freedom Caucus said it's about time you listen to us. It's about time you listen to Americans. And this is the first time we're seeing somewhere, something where it's not just a, hey, you know, one hand washes the other.
So, look, do I know enough about it to make an opinion? Probably not. But what I can tell you is this: the only way we're going to get ourselves out of the hell of a mess that we're in is we've got to get a president in Washington in 2024 who's going to stop this nonsense. Look, that's why I wrote Crimes Against America. The left is taking this country down.
Joe Biden came in in a Trojan horse as a moderate and all his leftist socialists. Marxist minions went in and ran all the different agencies and sections and institutions of our government, and they are taking it down day by day. And you know, all of this spending, at least we've clawed back some of the COVID spending. You know, at least we clawed back some of the money for the IRS agents, not enough. There's no way we need to have 87,000 new IRS agents.
That's where I would have stuck my land, you know, drawn my land line in the sand. Because the truth is, if you want to talk about, you want to talk about taxes, go right after Hunter. You want to talk about gun control? Go right after Hunter. These people are hypocrites.
They don't mean anything they say. And you know what? This country, Dana, and I'm just going to let me go for one more minute. This country is no longer a sovereign nation. We are a nation without borders.
We are nothing more than a globalist landing spot with benefits for everybody who wants to and demands to come into this country. And they get everything we give our citizens, housing, education, medication, whatever they need. And this is Joe Biden's America right now. This is Joe Biden taking us down. All of this fiscal irresponsibility is Joe Biden.
How much Tevin can do or not do, I don't know. But what I do know is they're taking down the institutions of government, which is why I wrote this book, Crimes Against America, as an indictment of the Biden administration. They don't want law and order. They want chaos and anarchy. And you know when this started, Dana?
It started with Barack Obama and that ridiculous life of Julia. Remember that chart? Julia is born and she gets snap of food stamps and then she gets a Pell scholarship or a Pell grant and then she gets Medicaid and then she gets Medicare. It's all about the government and Joe Biden is mimicking it in the school saying they're not your kids. They're our kids.
And Randy Weingarten, do you want to tell me what the hell Randy Weingarten is doing in Ukraine three times? First time she says she's comparing the educational department. What education? Every school in Ukraine is bombed. These people are corrupt.
They're all corrupt and they've got to go. I completely. I completely agree. As Judge Janine Piero, her book, Crimes Against America, you know, you were mentioning too, you like how McCarthy goes in there and actually tells people, look, this is, you know, this is how we're going to, how we're going to handle this, and at least fights, because we haven't seen that in a little bit. As party, I mean, party leader in the House, at least, at least he was present for the negotiations.
I was looking at Biden's schedule. He didn't have anything on his schedule for today. He went to Delaware for one day. He told the press that they don't live in the real world, apparently, if they think that spending should come down, which was asinine. It just shows how out of touch he is with this party.
But, you know, you said something interesting to dovetail into this. It's not him making the decisions. I mean, I thought that Joe Biden was this like big wheeler dealer. That's how it was always advertised. And he's in the basement in Delaware.
Where has he been for all of this? You know, everyone says, who is the president? Who was running the country? Because think about it: every time Joe Biden made a statement, someone would come out and clean it up. Who's cleaning it up?
Who's pulling the strings? And you know who I have no tolerance for? Joe Biden. Talk about a beach. Joe Biden should be sitting on his beach house, at his beach house on the beach.
because this man is not capable of running the country. If he is not in a position to do a press conference after a meeting with a world leader, Dana, what do you think it's like in the meeting with the world leader? The guy stumbles his way out of press conferences or just has this arrogant, I don't have to answer you. Americans want accountability. They want a safe America.
They want their kids to learn education and not indoctrination. We need to make sure that this corruption that we've seen, a weaponized FBI, DOJ, just today, Christopher Wright, he's now in a position where he doesn't want to hand over information that's not classified, but which Congress in its oversight position has the authority to get. It's a whistleblower saying that there is an issue of money being exchanged for policy decisions by Biden. Why aren't we getting that information? What is the problem?
It is corruption from day one. In your book, Crimes Against America: The Left's Takedown of Our Republic. One of the things that I find most curious about this administration and having Hunter Biden with him and going and making all of these business deals. There was a video that came out last week, 2013, showing Hunter Biden coming off a plane with Joe Biden. This was after they went to China and were negotiating with Chinese leaders.
And this was about the time with that deal, the CEFC, the Chinese company that was working with Rosemont Seneca, Hunter Biden's firm. They working with these green energy deals, they helped China acquire one of the biggest cobalt mines in the world, all for the Green New Deal from the left. That's a national security issue.
So they're making the United States dependent upon our biggest geopolitical foe. You know, Dana, that's why I love you. You're always on target. We were on our knees and still are to OPEC.
Now we're on our other knee to China. And who is it that has business associations and dealings with CEFC and Chinese government companies? Hunter Biden with 10% for the big guy. I mean, the American public is not stupid. How dare, how dare they require that we get electric vehicles by a certain year so that China builds coal power plants to create lithium batteries for which insurance companies in America will not insure them, for which there will be an environmental hazard when you get rid of them.
And then, and then we have to get the batteries from China and not the United States. I mean, Afghanistan is an example of how he has no idea what he's doing. Bill Gates was right. Not Bill Gates, which can. Was it Bob Dates, the one who's fancy Bob Dates?
Decision that Joe Biden made was wrong. He's been wrong on everything. The only thing he's been consistently right on is things that allow him to make money from Mexico, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Russia, and China. That is enough to impeach anyone. But they don't want to impeach the guy.
Why? Because you've got the joke behind him as vice president, the woman chosen for political identity, identity politics. This has to end. This America cannot withstand these people who want to tear her down and make America last. And the military, Dana, the idea that we have a cisgender, this gender, that gender in the military, cut the crap and start making America first.
Amen. And there's to that. Crimes Against America, The Left's Takedown of Our Republic by my good friend Janine Pirro. You know the book is going to be as good as her just talking just then.
So it's going to be a fun read. Judge Janine. I wrote it. Yes, you did. And it's always good.
And you can catch her on Fox's number one show, The Five, as well. And Judge Janine, I'm so happy to finally talk because we talk, you know, we talk now and then. And I always love hearing. You're one of my favorite people. When I see your name on my phone, you're one of my favorite people to hear from.
So we got to get together when we're in town at the same time again. You've got it. All right.
And by the way, you can get the book at judgejbook.com. That's judgejbook.com or wherever books are sold. And I really appreciate it, Dana. I think your audience has. To be a phenomenal audience because I love listening to you too.
And I really mean that. God bless you. And God bless everything that you do and your listeners and your viewers for making sure that you are as high up there as you are. Very proud. Thank you, Judge.
And keep fighting the good fight. We watch every day. We appreciate you. Thank you. Judge Janine Pierre.
Take care. Yes. Bye-bye. Thank you. Make sure you get her book, Crimes Against America.
This is, I mean, I, because you know, it's going to be a good book. She's going to lay it all out. I mean, she's a lawyer. She's judged for crying out loud. She's going to gut somebody in this book.
So you've got to go and get this book. And I just like the cover because she looks badass on the cover. Catch the Dana show noon to 3 p.m. Eastern on DirecTV, channel 347. I don't know what's going on.
In the African American community, when it comes to that. You know what I mean? Like Black people have supported Democrats. you know, uh, overwhelmingly for 50 60 years. And and nothing has changed.
So Something's gotta change. Wow. That's ice cube. who's saying this and he's not wrong. I mean, he's you know, this is it's accurate.
I mean, just look at some of these cities that have been generationally Democrat-run for Like St. Louis, like Chicago. You know? Welcome back to the program. Dana last year with you.
Yeah, it's hashtag facts. That's what it is. And he's being honest about it. He's like, look, what have you gotten? for the generational investment of your vote.
What are you gotten for that? What's been the return on that vote? The authority of your consent. What did you get? You got more crime, higher taxes, and what?
fewer business opportunities. Fewer options. And what it Good heavens I mean, we lived in Saint Louis. We saw it in Saint Louis. Saw the, I mean, just the crime and the bus.
Oh my gosh, the business tax. And then if you worked. insane.
So even when I worked when it when after we moved to Texas, Because The program. that I was doing at the time was still being Uh it partially distributed out of St. Louis. I had to pay a city tax. If you work in the city, you have to pay an additional tax.
I had to pay an additional tax to St. Louis City for like a whole year after I lived in Texas just for that. They make it Inhospitable. for business and growth because of how they approach things. That's generational Democrat leadership.
What do you get for it? What have they gotten for it? Oh, oh, Washington Avenue got uh redone. And then the crime went out of control so nobody can't go up there and enjoy nothing because then you have Kim Gardner who doesn't even prosecute half wouldn't half prosecute half the cases that the S the St. Louis P D were bringing into her.
So what do you get for all that? It's the whole point. It's sad, absolutely sad. But yeah, Deus Kane says a day older and deeper in debt. Mm-mm-mm.
So they have a vote. Apparently, members of Congress are all traveling back to DC today. They weren't supposed to be back yet unless they had a deal on this.
Now they have the deal.
So they're going to be coming back. They're going to be voting tomorrow. And We'll keep you updated as stuff. how that's gonna go. Interesting.
And then tomorrow, because I was we focused a lot on getting you prepared for the debt ceiling, we need to talk about the stuff with Ken Paxton in Texas. Because the way that they have been going about this is an absolute farce. And I do think it's interesting that it comes right after, you know, Ken Paxton is making fun of well, he didn't make fun. It was after conservatives were kind of going after Dade Phelan for apparently sounding like he was drunk as a skunk, lit like a firecracker on the Fourth of July. while he's up there on the floor.
Of the Texas house.
So I got some questions. But It is a farce the way that they have Done this. And I was looking at Matt Schaefer, Texas rep Matt Schaefer. And like I said, we're going to talk about this more tomorrow. His statement, because they voted to impeach him.
And Texas may have a Republican majority, but Not all R's are equal, as you know. And he says that he has a lot of concerns with how they were using this process. And it was under the direction of Speaker Phelan. And that they've been, you know, that this. He also makes a good point too that a lot of the stuff out there, that this is kind of an undermine of the it kind of it is undermining the voters' will.
Because a lot of the stuff that everyone i you know keeps like prattling on about with Paxton, that was kind of known to everybody. And voters still made their decision. And I'm like, where's your I mean, is there some evidence here? We're going to talk more about this tomorrow. But this has been a problem.
And I agree with him. I mean, I'm waiting to see the evidentiary basis satisfied in order to persuade me and many others to even believe what is being said about him in order to justify this impeachment.
So we're going to talk about that tomorrow because you need to know what could happen in your state if somebody decides to, you know, stand up for you too much. All right, Today and Stupidity King. All right, it's not so sunny hosting race baiter on the view. Actually, they're all race baiters now that I think about it.
So that doesn't really have a distinction. Here's what she said about white women.
Some time ago about she owned property as well, meaning white women owned slaves as well. I think that women, white women in particular, want to protect this patriarchy here because it's to their benefit. They want to make sure that their husbands do well. They want to make sure that their sons do well. They want to make sure that their children do well.
And they want to make sure that.
So it's apparently it's you're a white patriarchal racist if you want to make sure your kids do well. I'm sorry she doesn't have enough successful relationships in her life to be able to make a better distinction. Have a great night. Back with you tomorrow.
