The following program is recorded content created by the Truth Network. Well, accordingly, glad TV is not gay enough. It's time for The Line of Fire with your host, biblical scholar and cultural commentator, Dr. Michael Brown. Your voice for moral sanity and spiritual clarity.
Call 866-34-TRUTH to get on The Line of Fire. And now here's your host, Dr. Michael Brown. Yeah, according to GLAAD, the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation that I nicknamed 12 years ago, the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Disagreement, I said that TV is not gay enough. It needs to be more gay, queer, trans, friendly.
Yeah, not gay enough. This is Michael Brown. Welcome to The Line of Fire. If you'd like to talk to me about any subject under the sun, the phone lines are open. 866-34-TRUTH, that's 866-34-87-884. And how I would love to hear from those who differ with me, who think I'm wrong on different issues, whatever they are, theological, political, moral, cultural, spiritual. I'd love to hear from you.
866-34-87-884. All right. I read this article a few days back, but then last night I was coming home from the airport with my colleague, assistant Brandon, and I just started reading headlines on the Breitbart website. This is a right wing conservative website. I just started reading a bunch of headlines. I'd seen this one about GLAAD a few days earlier. And then this one, I decided to, well, tell you what, tell you what.
Before I get to the GLAAD headline, let me let me read some other headlines that run the Breitbart website as a reminder of the degree to which the world has lost its mind. Friends, we are here as your voice for moral sanity and spiritual clarity. That's why we're on the air. We are here to infuse you with faith and truth and courage. In fact, in the next couple of days, we're going to be sending out our Frontline newsletter. This comes out once a month. It is from the Hebrew word study to excerpts from my books, to a stirring inspirational message, to a powerful testimony, great testimony from the Philippines.
You're going to love this one. Every month we send it out. It's free, but it's to equip you. It's to empower you. It's to help you to stand strong on the Frontline.
And so if you're not getting it, go to the line of fire dot org, the line of fire dot org right now, unless you're driving, just wait for a stoplight and just fill in your name, address or email, just where it says subscribe, click on that and it will be coming your way. But you look around at the world around this and you see in the natural things really are going crazy. We've really lost our bearings.
We have really lost our sense of right and wrong. And and just sad, sane and insane. Now, please hear me. If you yourself are same sex attracted and maybe you're a follower of Jesus and you struggle with this and you struggle since your earliest days. I'm not saying you're insane. OK, I'm not saying that if you are deeply troubled, struggling to the core, you're being with your gender identity.
And it's it's been something you struggle with for many, many years before you ever even heard about it. I'm not saying you're insane. My my point is about social insanity. My point is about the world losing its mind.
My point is about us losing sense of right and wrong. Many years ago, there was a belief that there was absolute truth, absolute truth. Now you have your truth. I have my truth, right? Many years ago, there was a belief that there was absolute morality. There was right and wrong. Now, so relative truth is relative, right?
You went for absolute truth through all of truth. Morality is relative. Well, it may be right for you.
It's not right for me. Right. We've gone now to reality itself being relative, not just morality being relative, not just truth being relative, but reality being relative. It's all relative.
Whatever you perceive yourself to be, you are. That's the social madness. That's what we are combating. So just just look at some of these headlines. This are on Breitbart.
Again, right wing conservative website. Woke fail. Irish Eurovision voters awarded Israel second most points despite Bambi Thug protests. So who is Bambi Thug? Heard of Bambi Thug for the first time. And when I was writing the article, I was reading a bio about them because Bambi Thug is, quote, non binary. So I didn't know if Bambi Thug was male or female watching a video. I assume Bambi Thug is a female, but identifies as non binary. And Breitbart described Bambi Thug as an occultist Eurovision contested. In fact, the performance of Bambi Thug at Eurovision, this massive event and, you know, the singers and performers around the world compete in this massive event overseas. Bambi Thug did a real demonic presentation. OK, Bambi Thug is militantly anti Israel and was very upset that Eden Golan from Israel finished ahead of her.
Finished fifth, whereas she finished sixth. But according to this article in Ireland, Bambi Thug's homeland. Eden Golan from Israel got more votes than she did. But the madness of this whole thing and there were major protests in Malmo, Sweden, major protests against Eurovision, having Eden Golan there. They didn't have Russia a couple of years ago. How now can they have Eden Golan from Israel?
They should be boycotting, et cetera. And you say, why protests in Sweden or the Swedes that anti Israel? Well, Malmo has about 20 percent Islamic population. I remember preaching in Malmo in, I think, 1997.
It was anything but Islamic then. So, yeah, the things have shifted dramatically. So, of course, there are strong protests there. OK, that's that's the first thing. So Bambi Thug, may God bring Bambi Thug, whoever this individual is in reality, their real name. May God bring this individual to himself. May he hear our prayer for this individual.
OK, then another headline video. Texas transgender woman, in quotes, accused of running over victim before kissing, stabbing body. It's just this tragic report, Karen Fisher, Texas, man who thinks he's a woman. Steven Anderson is a 64 year old Houston man who was just going to check the mail. Fisher saw him mote him down with his car, backed over him, stabbed him nine times, then kissed him and danced over his body.
He's been charged for the murders being held on a two million dollar bond. Here's a very sick, lost individual that needs the Lord. And what what a tragedy.
Steven Anderson just gone. Next bright part headline, anti-Israel queers for Palestine protesters block access to Disney World. Disney World's allegedly pro-Israel, so they've got to block the entrance there. Tensions rose when anti-Israel protesters with the group Queers for Palestine blocked traffic on Saturday outside Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Yeah, of course, Queers for Palestine. It makes perfect sense, just like blacks for the KKK or Jews for Nazism.
Oh, yeah, sure. Queers for Palestine. I mean, you asked the question, what are people thinking? They obviously can't be thinking rationally.
But just examples of how the world has lost its mind. J.K. Rowling doubles down, calls Sutton United's transgender soccer coach a straight white middle aged bloke. J.K. Rowling saying she's having none of it with this this man who then identified as a woman, became a referee, now a coach.
As far as Rowling's concerned, hey, this is just another white middle aged bloke. So she's speaking the truth to that, of course, getting ridiculed. And then Jennifer Lawrence calls Mike Pence gay at GLAAD Media Awards. Conversion therapy is not real, even though you think it worked on you. So for some bizarre reason, she's picking on Mike Pence now. Not that he's a major political figure at the moment. Picking on him saying, yeah, there's no such thing as conversion therapy.
Although it worked on you, you used to be gay, now you're straight. So lots of lost people out there, lots of confused people out there. But just examples of why over the years we have talked about how the society is losing its mind and why it's up to us, those who still have brains working and and moral clarity and not just believers. There are plenty of other Americans who see things clearly. There are plenty of others who have not drunk the Kool-Aid.
There are plenty of others who recognize the emperors wearing no clothes. So it's up to us to hold our ground and not bow down to the madness. And at the same time to remember individuals, to not confuse societal madness and how we push back against that, to not confuse that with our loving concern for individuals for whom we care, for whom Jesus died, who are created in image of God. All of us outside of Jesus fallen, lost in need of redemption. All of us outside of Jesus have corrupted the image of God and are separated from him. Whether you are a church going person who is a religious hypocrite, whether you are an atheist, whether you are a religious Jew, a religious Muslim, whether you are a queer for Palestine demonstrator, whoever you are outside of the Lord, we all fall short. We all need redemption.
We are all flawed and sinful. Our hope is in him. So therefore, what do we do? What's what's our philosophy, our M.O.? Reach out and resist. Reach out to the people with compassion. Resist the agenda with courage. Hearts of compassion, backbones of steel. We don't demonize our opponents. We humanize those who stand against us, recognizing, though, that sin has a terrible, corrupting, destructive influence.
And therefore, when we advocate for God's ways, we advocate for that which is best and that which is best for human thriving individually and corporately. Okay, so back to GLAAD. GLAAD, again, G-L-A-A-D, so two A's. It stands for the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation. But years ago, they started what they call the Commentator Accountability Project.
I was one of 36 conservative commentators on their initial list. Now, ironically, in traditional Judaism, you have what's called the Lamed Vovniks. Lamed Vov is 36 in Hebrew. Lamed is 30, Vov is 6. And there is the belief in traditional Judaism that at any moment on the earth, there are always 36 righteous people.
They can be Jewish, they can be gentile because of whom God preserves the earth and doesn't bring judgment. So I thought how ironic that GLAAD starts off its Commentator Accountability Project with a list of 36. Obviously, that was not the point they were making. But what they were saying, this is years ago, they were saying, do not have people like me on the air on a CNN or on MSNBC or another station, don't have a Chuck Colson on, don't have a Tony Perkins on, don't have people like us on the air because we really don't have a right to speak about what we're speaking when it comes to LGBTQ plus issues. We don't really have a right to speak about those things.
And what we're saying is dangerous and polluting and destructive. Therefore, do not allow our viewpoints to be aired. That's why I nickname them not the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, but the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Disagreement because all opposing views must be silenced. All the more will we speak up. Well, GLAAD says TV's not gay enough. Need to get more gay, need to get more queer, need to get more trans. So we're going to take that up when we come back on the other side of the break.

Use the code BROWN25. So this story came out a few days back, only about two, three weeks ago, I spotted it, but I didn't comment on it then. So I'm going to get into it now. This is from GLAD, all right. And this is what their study, I think it's their 19th annual study. They look at all the TV shows. They look at all the characters, story lines, and they look to see how strong a gay bi trans presence there is.
So here's what they said. So this is the summary of their survey. For serious regulars across primetime scripted broadcast programming, 8.6% were LGBTQ. On top of that, of all the LGBTQ characters that were counted, which were 468, 50% were LGBTQ people of color, while only 5.1% identified as transgender. The study also found 36% of LGBTQ characters included will not be returning next season. Huh. Okay, so they're upset because they feel it's not a strong enough gay presence.
Now, hang on, hang on here for a minute. 468 characters who identify as LGBTQ across these regular shows. That's not enough.
That's not enough. I wonder how many of these characters are portrayed in a negative life compared to if you have a conservative Christian, if you have a pastor, if you have a priest, if you have a Bible believer, how are those people portrayed? How are those people seen as opposed to the LGBTQ plus characters?
What type of narratives are there? As I was writing my book, A Queer Thing Happened to America, which was researched over a six year period, 700 pages, 1500 endnotes came out in 2011, as I was writing that book, I began to get online and search for transcripts of different shows and just try to see about gay characters, queer characters, trans characters, etc. And then I would I would watch some shows, shows that were acceptable to watch as a believer. I'd watch them and now with with eyes to see how much in there is a narrative about gay activism or the talking points, you know, one in 10 is gay, which gay activists full well knew was not accurate, but it's a good talking point.
Or is it going to be something like, quote, conversion therapy? And sure enough, the bad people are going to be the ones with this camp or they're torturing young people or this this conservative activists. And it turns out he's the one who kills the sun because the sun came out as gay and, you know, and I was I was shocked to see here the actual talking points, the literal talking points that I'm reading in gay activist books just weave woven into the themes of these different shows. And invariably, the gay character, the bi character, the trans character, they were the hero or they were the victim that was being taken advantage of. And time after time after time, the conservative Christian, the one with strong moral values based on scripture, the minister of the gospel, they were the bad guys.
And look, I'm a Catholic. But you notice over the years, like the Catholic priest that visits the house, he's having drinks, you know, he's a secret alcoholic or he's sleeping around or there's going to be this negative portrayal. So that's the other thing in these narratives.
How are the people portrayed? And total of eight point six percent identifying as LGBTQ, as far as national surveys, that's that's higher than a national service going to be. But it's not enough. In other words, it's more than than than than our surveys would indicate. Across all ages, people are identifying as some result LGBTQ. I know Gen Z is much higher than that.
But across all perspectives, of course, all age groups. That's that's way higher than reality would be. But and with all the indoctrination, everything else. But it's not high enough.
It's not high enough. And then it says that of the characters that were counted, 50 percent were people of color. Isn't that interesting? What statistic would indicate that? So there is a disproportionately high number of people of color, because across all spectrums of society, 50 percent of Americans are not people of color. Right. So that would be higher. And then only five point one percent identified as transgender of the characters.
Look. Point oh, five percent of the national population identifies as as trans. So if if you're getting five point one percent of the characters, you're identifying as trans, you're still way, way high. So according to GLAAD CEO Sarah Kate Ellis, we know it is imperative for the queer community, especially transgender people, to see our lives reflected on screen to counteract the misinformation and harmful rhetoric that would be people like me going unchecked by politicians and journalists. And we know that younger audiences are hungry for shows that truly reflect the world around them.
Here's what makes this so sad. The world around them, around young people, which is so much more identifying as LGBTQ plus as high as 40 percent of Gen Z identifies as someone on the spectrum. If you follow George Bonner survey from a couple of years ago, other service would put it at 20, 25 percent. That's an extraordinarily high number, not because they're actively because your average 18 year old kid is actively in the same sex relationship or something like that, but it's identification. It's the Gen Z empathy for the outsider, for the outcast. And it's identification for someone on the margins. And that's why that and then the constant, the tick tock indoctrination and the TV indoctrination, even down to cartoons.
You're bombarded with this constantly, constantly, constantly, constantly, constantly. It affects your thinking. Again, it's not going to make someone gay.
OK, but it's going to open them up to experiment. It's going to open them up to identity. Why not identify as bi? And hey, we really don't know. We're kind of non-binary.
We don't really know where exactly we fit. So all of this, friends, leads to the confusion. Now you want more to reinforce the confusion. I say do the opposite, do the opposite. And rather than glorifying this one or this one, let's tell truthful stories that are representative of the world around us.
But by all means, let's quit with the indoctrination and the brainwashing and the negative effects on the next generation. It is only getting worse. Good news is people continue to push back. Do you know that Target has announced that they in some of their stores are going to be cutting back Pride Month, which is around the corner?
Yeah, it felt like it never left Pride Month, which is around the corner. Last year, Target lost a lot of customers. There's a lot of upheaval with the tuck bathing suits. So men who identify as women needed extra fabric to tuck things in. Saying as discreetly as I can, even Joe Rogan says, that's weird.
I don't go to Target for that. That's weird. They said they're going to have less emphasis on LGBTQ related paraphernalia in Pride Month, because ultimately money talks. So people continue to push back and say enough with the cultural madness. All right, friends, we will be right back on the other side of the break.
Fascinating survey, by the way. You say no to sex and romance and plot lines of TV shows and movies. We'll be right back. Hey, friends, Michael Brown here, my delight to serve as your voice for moral sanity and spiritual clarity. We are living in such urgent times today, friends, that all of us are in the line of fire. There's a target on your back. There's a target on my back.
If you simply seek to live by biblical values or just conservative moral values, you could be canceled, you could be cast out, you could be put down, you could be silenced. I'm here to say, friends, that I am not about to be silenced and I don't believe you are either. It is time for us to stand up. It is time for us to say enough is enough. It is time for us to push back in Jesus name, not fighting the way the world fights. No overcoming evil with good, overcoming hatred with love, overcoming the flesh with the power of the spirit, overcoming lies with truth. And that's what we're here to do on the line of fire broadcast.
And friends, it's not just a broadcast. It is a movement of people around the world. God's people standing up saying enough is enough and saying, Lord, here we are, send us, use us. Hey, right before the broadcast today, also, I had the joy of signing greeting letters to all of our new torchbearers that just donated. Thank you. You make a massive difference together. We are touching people around the world. You know, as I'm sitting here doing radio, we have grads, spiritual sons and daughters making an incredible impact for the Lord around the world. Yes.
Yeah. Yesterday yesterday was Sunday. I was speaking Minnesota and during worship. Now, this is a little awkward during worship, but I'm going to be speaking this is a little awkward during worship, but a young man came up to me and said, can I take a selfie with you?
This is during worship. And and he said, he said, I was drugging, messed up. He said, I got into Judaism. He said, my dad recommended your material. He said, I was listening to like eight hours a day because that I came out of Judaism into the faith and I'm a follower of Jesus now. And he was all excited.
So this is for my dad. So I said, just go ahead. Let's do it quick.
I'm going to take the picture. But what a blessing to hear that. What a blessing to know that our materials are making an impact and that lives are being touched and transformed as getting off the plane, flying into Texas.
I was in Texas and Minnesota gentleman sitting next to me. It took a while to recognize that Dr. Brown, good chatting with you, watching videos, being blessed. So we're so glad to know that that our spiritual sons and daughters around the world are making an impact. And then our videos, our materials out there, our broadcast making impact. That's with your help. You help support this. You help underwrite this. You help make this happen. It is a good cause. So thank you for standing with us. So check out check out this story.
This was sent to me a few weeks back by my assistant, Brandon, and it was on the Deadline.com website. And the story goes back to October 25th, 2023. Youth's say no to sex and romance in plot lines of TV shows and movies. Yes, to content focused on friendships.
UCLA study finds and according to the story. UCLA study finds teens and young adults are not interested in romance and sex in plot lines of most TV shows and movies, while the majority is interested in content about friendships and platonic relationships. The recent teens and screens report since again from October just hadn't commented on it last year conducted by the Center for Scholars and Storytellers at UCLA found that 47.5 percent of teens and young adults aged 13 to 24 think that sex and romance are too prominent in TV shows and movies, and 51.5 percent want to see more content focused on friendships and platonic relationships, with 39 percent saying they particularly want to see more aromantic and or asexual characters on screen. A near majority of those surveyed felt that romance and media is overused. The annual report surveyed 1,500 young people ages 10 to 24 in August 2023, with 100 teens from each age bracket taking part.
Responders closely reflected the U.S. census in terms of race and gender. The survey was supported by the collection of funders for adolescent science translation. Well, it's true that adolescents want less sex on TV and in movies. What the survey is really saying is that they want more and more different kinds of relationships reflected in the media they watch. Dr. Yalda T. Olds, founder and director of CSS, co-author of the study and adjunct professor in UCLA's psychology department. We know that young people are suffering an epidemic of loneliness and they're seeking modeling in the art they consume.
While some storytellers use sex and romance as a shortcut to character connection, it's important for Hollywood to recognize that adolescents want stories that reflect the full spectrum of relationships. Recent studies show that young people are having less sex than their parents did with their age, and many prefer to stay single. Isn't this fascinating?
Isn't this fascinating? Young people, according to the survey, are saying we don't need to see so much sex. We don't need to see so much sex. We don't need so many stories about romance.
It would be better if there is this more about friendship and things like that. The point is, God made human beings a certain way. And over time, certain things work and certain things don't work. Those of you old enough to remember when Albania proclaimed itself the world's first atheist state, it didn't work.
It didn't ultimately work. Even in a country like North Korea, which on the one hand is atheist in a sense in that you're not allowed to have a religious beliefs, but you do have religious beliefs, you believe in the divine nature of your leader. He is the man that's worshipped and adored. You're going to replace that void with something. Now, I don't mean every atheist does that, but you'll find countries that become more atheistic often become more superstitious. We've documented that. We've shared some of the documentation of the anthropologist, sociologist Rodney Stark and some of his historical studies and recent studies looking at different parts of the world, the more atheistic they get, the more superstition comes in, the more witchcraft comes in, the more the occult comes in, because God made us a certain way. We are ultimately spiritual beings and there's a void to be filled. We are ultimately people who need relationship and friendship and family.
And when these things are undermined, no amount of sex, no amount of romance, no amount of drugs, no amount of drinking, no amount of possessions, no amount of success can fill that void. And that's why young people today are the most medicated generation in recorded American history, the loneliest generation, the most depressed generation, the most suicidal generation. And I don't say that as if it's the fault of young people. You know, growing up, if I had grown up as a little boy and had access to iPads and cell phones and smartphones and video games and all this from childhood up and my parents didn't know that it was the wrong thing, I would have been as into this as anybody else. The whole social media thing, the whole isolation that that that produces, I would have been right in the middle of it like everybody else. And if I had been raised in a broken home, I would have been scarred by that, as opposed to the benefit of being raised in a healthy home. So young people today are victims of broken homes. And they are part of an experiment, this massive experiment of social media and constant screens and stimulation and the addiction that this brings and the adrenaline of getting likes and shares and notices and all of this, it's problematic. The brain itself has been affected. And because they're not just normal relationships, they're just hanging out together and walking out in an open field and playing ball outside and just doing things that would have been more normal.
There are a lot of negative effects. And and and now the constant and ongoing indoctrination of the world, the constant indoctrination of of everything has to be gay and bi and trans. And you're going to celebrate a kid like Jazz Jennings, a confused boy that now thinks he's a girl and is going to have sex change, surgery and reality TV and so on and so forth. You make these people the heroes.
It's only hurting a generation. The positive once again is that God's ways are ways of human thriving. God's ways are best. And when we give ourselves to him, when we give ourselves to the ways of God, we will see good fruit.
We will see blessing. Look, you live by the wisdom of Proverbs, the general principles of Proverbs. If you live free from certain addictions, if you don't give yourself to violence, et cetera, you will live on average longer than someone who gives themselves to those things. So just like with your life insurance policy, we've often said, you know, they want to know you a smoker, do you drink?
And obviously, if your job is an accountant, you've never smoked, you've never drank in your life. You eat very healthily. You are at a good weight. Your blood pressure and vital signs are good. Your life insurance policy will be a lot cheaper than someone who's a stuntman, who's a heavy drinker with high blood pressure, also a heavy smoker. And on top of that is is super promiscuous sexually and is overweight.
Obviously, one on average is going to live longer than the other. All right, let's let's grab a call. We will go over to Minnesota to our friend Jesse. What's up? Hey, sorry, I missed you, Minnesota. I wish I would have knew you were there.
I would have liked to meet you. Yeah. Well, do you get my emails? I do.
All right. Because normally we send out a notice when we're coming into an area. But are you near Duluth? No, yeah, that's probably why you didn't get it.
Probably different zip codes. But anyway, I was just in and out Saturday night, Sunday morning and in and out. But hopefully there'll be another time. Yeah, yeah, well, it's all right.
You know, maybe there'll be another time. Go ahead. So my question is about people that have been antisemitic, but have still maintained that God is not done with the Jews. I wanted to read a quote. It's a very short quote from Christosom, who, you know, has said very many antisemitic things. He says this in his homilies on Romans 19.
He says this in my ancient Christian commentary on scripture. He says, When the Gentiles believed, the Jews became even more obnoxious. But even now, God has not stopped calling the Gentiles. He is waiting for all of them who are to believe to come in and then the rest of the Jews will come in as well. So clearly he's seeing that there is a future promise for Israel that they will be saved. But he also says all of these antisemitic things, too.
So how do you conceptualize that in your mind and how do you look at that? Yeah, he has hostility to Jewish people as Jews. He has great concern about Jewish influence on Christians and Christians becoming interested in Jewish beliefs and practices. But he still knows that there will be a future time in which Israel will be saved because of scripture. So there is hostility to the people at present, but a dream about a future conversion of Jewish people in the future.
So the one is concrete in the here and now. And that reflects his hostility and negativity. And his saying that Jews are just like animals that are fit for slaughter, et cetera, you know, some of the harsh rhetoric that he used in the synagogue is worse than a brothel and on and on. So that's in the present.
That's how he views Jewish people. Nonetheless, he recognizes God has given promises, but that's to a future people. So it's often easy to believe things in the abstract, Jesse, that in the future that the day will come when Israel will be saved. And there will be a wonderful time in the future. But right now, we better be careful about those murderous Jews, those Christ killers, those bad people.
That's that's the reality in terms of present hostility, abstract future promise, but it does underscore how clear the promises are and underscores that you can't get away from the clarity of the promises. Same number as always. A few things I want to talk about. Jerry Seinfeld gave a commencement talk at Duke University. He's a strong and open supporter of Israel as a Jewish man himself. And he had some jokes about Harvard. Harvard used to be the place to go. Now it's Duke, and there was some chance to free Palestine as he spoke.
Some protesters got up and left. But you have to ask yourself, you have some of the major universities that have said we're not going to have normal commencement ceremonies, right? Normal graduation ceremonies, which for many are a very, very big deal.
We always look forward to the graduation ceremonies in our ministry school. And that was culminating with a three year program that they would have. So four year program, all the more graduate degrees, all the more work and effort. Graduation was not important for me personally, to be honest. So I was at my high school graduation, didn't go to my college graduation, didn't go to get my master's, didn't go to get my Ph.D. In retrospect, it would have been fun to do the Ph.D. with cap and gown and the whole bit. But I had I just died to the idolatry of scholarship, which had been a power in my life for a long as it became a tool.
So I didn't go to that. But these are big events. These are special things. And and these are prestigious universities and hard to get into. And and you think of the tuition that parents are paying or others, their student loans that they're getting and it would be 80, 90 thousand dollars a year and so on and and now because of campus agitators and because of outside forces and because of Israel haters. And now you don't even have commencement ceremonies that a lot of people are not going to be happy with that.
And then you think of this. It used to be something tremendous that you have. I've graduated from Harvard. I graduated from Columbia. I graduated from USC. I graduated from the school and that's on my resume.
And now that that almost brand you it's like, I'm not working with you. Or were you one of those protesters? Where did you stand on this issue or that issue? And now you're going to be especially scrutinized. But look, I talk about this in my book, The Silencing of the Lambs and of the the campus takeovers in terms of of a radical liberal agenda, this taking over campuses and a major shift, Marxist leaders talked about the long march in the 60s. I mean, they talked about this.
This was this vision. Christopher Rufo's laid it out in his latest book on cultural revolution. And there's really no denying it. Years back, you could question it, but you can't. It's just too pervasive in through our whole larger school systems, that the Marxist agenda, the long march and the reconfiguring of the world into the colonizer and the colonized and the oppressor and the oppressed, et cetera. So this narrative, this ideology is so deeply entrenched. And the shift from any conservative viewpoints to liberal and then to ultra left wing, so pronounced, you can't argue with it. So so Harvard Crimson did a study.
That's one of the the newspaper's historic publications at Harvard. They did a faculty survey. And of the faculty that responded from those who identified, say, as conservative to liberal, the left outreigned the right was five hundred to one, five hundred to one. So as a kid, you grow up, you're now in schools that have increasingly activist curricula rather than just teaching you the so-called three hours reading, writing and arithmetic, right? There's an increasingly activist social agenda that's being imported into the schools, has been for many, many years.
And I'm thinking back, oh, it's at least 10 years ago, sitting with two couples that were driving me to the airport after I spoke or having lunch with me before taking me to the airport. And and the women in both of these young couples were schoolteachers in Florida, which is a much more conservative state than, say, New York or California. They're both schoolteachers. One first grade and one maybe sixth grade, but certainly one was first grade. And they said aggressive gay curricula is right through the school, right through the school.
And if they dare speak out against it, they lose their jobs. So you're talking a good 10 years ago in Florida. And as young as first grade, when you go to kindergarten preschool, get the same thing. So you go through your school, you get this.
You're watching TV. You're getting a certain narrative, right? You get program narrative indoctrination, social indoctrination while watching TV or movies, then then you get social media blast. I've said to many parents, TikTok is doing a better job of discipling our kids than we are. And it's very challenging because I know godly parents, they watch what movies their kids watched. They watched who they hung out with.
They were sure to spend quality time with them. They just didn't factor in how much garbage they were getting on their cell phones and they've lost their kids. The kids have turned away from God. Their kids have turned away from the values they were raised with.
So you've got the kids. From their earliest days, it could be preschool, kindergarten, certain sociological ideological agendas put forth for them. Now you go from there to the environment, TV, movies, social media, bombarding them with certain mindsets, often anti-Israel mindsets, anti-Christian, anti-Bible, anti-God, et cetera. All the memes, the talking points of the of the new atheists from from a few years back, from 15, 18 years back, just become mainstreamed.
And the God of the Bible is this patriarchal, misogynistic, hateful, genocidal, homicidal God to be rejected. And Bible is just full of Bronze Age stories from these shepherds and nomads who didn't know anything. And this is just the narrative folks grow up with. Now you go from there to higher education where you really dig deep, where you really learn, where you really get the stuff. OK, now you're in the professors because they know so much and they become kind of the new parents and the new influencers. And and wow, she's so smart.
They're like challenging all the stuff I grew up with. This is so cool. And this prophecy just tears down the bottom. And I love it. And and oh, yeah, this is just so queer and they're they're non-binary. That man, that's who I am. Now you're in that environment. It is a formula for a massive disaster. But friends, that's not the end of the story. This is happening on our watch, which means we're living and breathing and we can do something about it.
All right. You know, there was a scene where Finney's preaching in a town in upstate New York and the repentance broke out. They're meeting in a barn and the repentance broke out. People were so overwhelmed by the sense of God's judgment for their sin and they were wailing and screaming in the building.
It was just overwhelming. And Finney starts walking through saying you're not yet in hell. You can still pray you're not yet in hell.
There's still time to repent. Well, friends, the same with us. We're still alive. We're here. We have kids.
We have grandkids, great grandkids, some others, single young people, single older people. We're here. We can do something. We're just throwing it's terrible.
It's terrible. Well, let's do something. Let's push back. Let's stand up.
You say, how? I wrote a whole book, Turn the Tide. Just came out last week. If you haven't gotten your copy, go ahead and get it. You get it on our website, thelineoffire.org or wherever books are sold, where you get your books, wherever you order online. If it's christianbook.com or Amazon or Barnes & Noble, wherever you get your books, just go ahead and order.
Order directly from the Line of Fire. Get Turn the Tide, pastors, leaders, get multiplied copies and give them out to your team. One pastor said he's going to buy them for every church in his network. There's about 70 churches in his network. Buy one for each pastor. This is a manual.
This is how-to. Just taking biblical principles and saying, let's live these out. And look, if there was a long march in one direction, how about a long march in the other direction? How many years of prayer did it take to overthrow Roe v. Wade? Right, and then the Planned Parenthood case from almost a decade later that further reinforced and re-entrenched things. Right, how far did that go?
How long did it take? One of my colleagues raised up Justice House of Prayer in Washington, D.C., and they were 18 years, if that was their whole mission, praying for the overthrow of Roe v. Wade, standing in front of the Supreme Court hours every day in rain and shine and heat and cold, silently interceding with life tape on their mouths for the overthrowing of Roe v. Wade, appealing to the highest court, not the court in the land, but the court in heaven, God's court, saying, God, turn this, turn this, turn this. And pro-life activists working for decades before, it took a while, and now we have the long march in front of us to continue to change hearts and minds, lest worse laws get passed, lest things push back in an even worse direction. So it means that as we have kids, by God's grace, pouring more into them than ever, concentrating on disciplining our kids more than we ever have before, recognizing the treacherous world in which we live. It means more and more believers getting involved in the school system.
Thank God for homeschoolers. What about those called to Christian schools? Often the salary is less and it's harder, but you make an impact.
Let them be the highest quality. What about those called into secular education? What about those called to be lights in the workplace?
What about those called in the business world to generate funds for kingdom work? And on and on it goes. We lay out strategies, friends. If you don't have turned the tide, I didn't plan on talking about that, but it's quite apropos. Get the book, Turn the Tide. How to ignite a cultural awakening. It'll inspire you. It'll give you vision. You feel the urgency of the hour and you will recognize that it is not too late.
And above all, we give ourselves to the Great Commission and we rededicate our own lives to living for the Lord, serving him with all our heart, our soul, our mind, our strength. Friends, God's looking for people who will stand. It is not too late. Say, Lord, here I am. Send me. Use me. Whether you're preaching for the pulpit, changing diapers at home, working hard in the workplace, studying in your school, you can make a difference. God wants to use you. It is not too late.
