Dr. Shah, welcome, welcome, welcome. Welcome.

It's good to be here. Christmas Adam. What's that? Christmas Adam. Oh, yeah, the Christmas Adam thing. This is the day before Christmas Eve, so it's Christmas Adam.

It's Christmas Adam. I don't like it, either. Really? Yeah, I don't like it. Did you come up with that? Has it been going around? It's been going around.

That's what makes me this sad. Like if it was... It's not a real thing. It's just people just, haha, this is called Christmas Adam. Christmas Adam, yeah. Hey, what was the joke you told me? What was the joke you told me from the... What did Adam say to his wife on December the 24th?

I promise you, I don't know. It's Christmas Eve. It's Christmas Eve. Isn't that in your... That was in the play. In the play, wasn't it?

That was Mr. Fezziwig that told that joke to a young Ebenezer. Did you write that and put it in the script? No. That was in the script? Mm-hmm. Wow.

No, no, no, no. I didn't write it, but it also was not in the script. It was an improv line that made it into the show.

Oh, who, who improved it? Mr. Fezziwig. Mike Stockwell did that? He came to me, he came to me and asked, he was like, what do you think about... Because, because it says that Fezziwig is supposed to joke with Ebenezer. And he said, what do you think if I would tell this joke on Mike? I'm like, sounds great.

Let's do it. People did laugh. Oh yeah, they loved it. I thought... One of the greatest things about theater is when actors will come to the directing team and say, hey, I'm thinking about this.

What do you think? Because it lets you know that they're kind of taking it, they're making it their own. That's what elevates it from a good show to a great show. They're vested into the show. Yeah. That's one of the worst things you can have as like a volunteer, even on the worship team or whatever, is when there's someone's just tell me what to do and I'll do it.

I will do exactly what you tell me and nothing more. Yeah. Yeah.

I bet this moment you and Elizabeth heard that joke, knowing how y'all love puns, you were on board. There was never a chance that that wasn't getting in. No.

As soon as he said it, I was like, a hundred percent, we're doing that. Absolutely. There it is.

Yeah. Our verse of the day today comes from Isaiah chapter nine, verse six. For unto us, a child is born unto us.

A son is given and the government will be upon his shoulder and his name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. You put a weird pause in there because we, as we all know, his name is Wonderful Counselor. No, no, there's a comma. Yeah.

I know, but you put a... Wonderful Counselor. That's two names.

No, I think the way I've always heard it and... He is a Wonderful Counselor, not a name. Correct me if I'm wrong, Dr. Shah, and actually, please don't, but I believe his name is Wonderful Counselor, right? Isn't that what the, what the... Well, there are scholars who did that. There's one, I think it was Young, who was, who's written on Isaiah.

And... He was Young or his name was Young? His name was Young.

Oh, gotcha, gotcha, gotcha. He was back in the late 18, early 1900s. Wow. E.J. Young, I believe. E.J.

Young, yes. Anyway, so he was an Old Testament scholar. He wrote a three-volume commentary on the book of Isaiah.

And when he comes to that verse, along with Kyle and Delish, who have done that Old Testament commentary, Hebrew text, still very good. But when they come to this, they make it into pairs, like adjective nouns. So Wonderful Counselor. Counselor is a noun, Wonderful is the adjective. Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace or Peaceful Prince. And it does work, it does work, but I'm not quite sure if that is necessary.

And I believe we have much to lose when we make them into this noun-adjective combination. Right, right, right. His name is, his name shall be Wonderful. His name shall also be Counselor.

His name shall be Mighty God, Everlasting Father. Got it. Got it. Or we could also, maybe not break them apart. Yeah.

Do we break him apart even further? His name is Mighty. I haven't spent a lot of time studying that Hebrew text. I studied that like maybe 20 years ago. Yeah. It's been a long time.

But if I were to go back and study, I want to see if grammatically in the Hebrew text, each of those, what we have deemed as just adjectives can stand on their own. Right. Yeah. Well, Dr. Schell, we are two days away from Christmas. And so, you know, I hate to ask this, but I want to ask you for a million dollars. And I would really, my big, big thing is I wish I could just give you a million dollars for Christmas.

Here's my question. Can we get that check cut before Christmas? I would really love to gift, I would love to gift both of you guys, no strings attached, a million dollars for Christmas.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. I got to ask for $1 million. Every Christmas gift you get for the rest of your life, you, you have to ask for the receipt. Oh, gladly. What? What? You would? Yeah. Like, right.

Right. So I don't think I could take it. So I don't think I could take million dollars.

You guys represent, I don't think I could, you guys represent an extreme where you will turn down a million dollars in a heartbeat. But I always think that you would say no, and you end up saying yes. So like if Nicole or no, not even Nicole, let's say somebody gives you a gift and it's like, Dr. Schell, I got you this book for Christmas. Cause I know you really are into the book of judges right now. It's a good research. You're like, I'm always, it's kind of something I do because it helps me appreciate the gift.

Do you mind if I have the receipt? All right. So that's a good point. I didn't consider it that way. Asking, asking for the receipt in that light. No, it's not.

Yeah, no, no. But the way he phrased it makes it sound different. Like why would the receipt make him appreciate the gift more?

Because I have a memento that I can keep in a file. They can say no, they can say no. Like it, like they can get offended.

You don't have to actually return it. You just have to ask. And if they're like, no, I don't have it. You can be like, okay, that's yeah, sure.

Yeah. David just suggested something. David, what is, what would your suggestion be given a million dollars, but you have to ask for the receipt.

What would you say? If it's a book like that, I'd be like, well, I appreciate that very much. I actually like to use the receipt for the bookmark. That way I know this goes with this specific book.

That makes you seem just a little bit quirky instead of ungrateful. I would love to, I would love to just give you a bookmark. I don't have the receipt. I don't have the receipt. Do you have a receipt for the bookmark? Yeah. They give you the bookmark as a gift. So you're not taking it.

A million dollars is a lot of money. I think it would be cool with like compromising my values. I'm not told to go out there, rob a bank or, or hurt somebody or, you know, set something on fire. It's simply saying, Hey, so something I've always felt like it's like, it, it, it helps me appreciate how God has blessed me. You bring the God card.

They can go home and think whatever they like. All right. I got to cut a check from the, I also probably, I would probably do it, but I also, I would be like, Hey, I'm just going to come across really. I'm going to rub people wrong. But like at face value, it seems like it's going to rub them wrong. But if you do it that way, then you just seem kind of like quirky and eccentric.

And like, you can, I think you can spin it. I think you might get gifts for another couple of years. And then people are just like, I don't know. A million dollars. If I add up all the gifts, I don't think they'll be a great gift giver. If you had a million dollars, would you, would you guys do it? You got to ask for the receipt. You have two thumbs up in the back. That's insane.

Nick and Thomas, Nick and David said, yeah, they'll do it. I also would do it, but I also, it feels like I was kind of looking forward to doing it. He's like, I I'll ask him for the receipt. No problem at all. You can say, Hey, maybe you could do, Hey, you know, through the church, since, you know, we go through the church just for insurance purposes and to keep everything above board.

I just got the receipt. I like to be very forthright. And you know, just, it's just something I feel like as a pastor, you just get very earnest, double down on it.

Yeah. Just keep talking. Like if you just have like a case of logarithm or whatever, you just keep talking.

It's going to, I couldn't get it out. It sounds kind of, it sounds kind of bad. It's an excessive and often incoherent talkativeness. I was like, if you just keep talking, maybe it'll make sense. But there was no way there was no way logarithm was never going to happen. Well, Oh, well, that's your secret word for the day. It was a logarithm.

I was trying to get it out to where maybe it like could have made sense, but logarithm was never going to happen. All right. We got a break.

Guys. Don't go anywhere. We're going to take a quick break and be right back with more Clearview today. Hey Clearview today, family. Thank you so much for tuning into the show. You know, Dr. Shah, I was coming into the studio this fine winter's morning, two days away from Christmas, thinking about all the things I was going to be enjoying these next couple of days. And I looked up in the sky and I said, well, goodness, what is that up in the air? I thought it might be Santa's sleigh.

Eight reindeer magically flying across. I said, turns out it wasn't. I said, Lord have mercy. I think that, is that a drone? Is that a collection of drones? I got so scared. I called up the Pentagon, right?

I called up the White House. I said, Hey man, there's some drones hovering over the Clear View today's studio. They wanted to tell me, they said, don't be alarmed. It's not US military. Yeah, that's exactly it. They said it's not any foreign adversaries. They said it's nothing at all to worry about.

Yeah. Lo and behold, turns out lots of people this Christmas have been seeing drones over their houses. Do not shoot at it. Do not do silly things.

Please, please. I'm glad you said that. Please don't take me outside and shoot at a drone. People talk about that and, you know, they say, oh, I'll do this.

Like, no, don't do that. Because it's completely possible that the US government is saying, Hey guys, it's not military. And it ends up being military. Like, that's not, like, they're not lying for lying sake, but when it comes to national security, you don't want to be shooting at drones. You want to make sure, just cooperate with it. That's right.

That's right. That was sort of the thing is like, we've been seeing all of it and I don't know how much of it is, yeah, David actually made a good point. He said, if you miss that bullet's going to come down somewhere. Please don't shoot at a drone. But, you know, one of the things that people are saying is they think that the drones are being, and it's a, if you haven't heard about what's going on, it's, it's this big thing, the sensationalized story where people are getting paranoid because they're seeing drones, but I mean, drones are a thing now.

You know what I mean? They're very common. They're very common. If I saw a drone legitimately, I'm not just saying this. If I saw a drone flying over the trees, I would just assume someone's like filming something or surveying land or kids have them as toys. Construction companies, construction companies use them.

Land surveyors use them. They're very, very common to see. So I don't know why all of a sudden filming, we use it all the time. I don't know why all of a sudden people are getting so paranoid about these. I don't know. I don't know.

It's weird. And it's, everybody's afraid now of these drones and feel like somebody's watching them or somebody's trying to attack them and, you know, trying to get armed and ready to fire back or something weird like that. Also, hasn't it been a huge thing in the past several years that Amazon does drone delivery now? I don't know if they started. I don't know if they, I don't know if they actually ever started. I feel like they talked about it, but I don't think it has happened. Maybe somebody, maybe our listeners, viewers may know. Maybe you get your packages delivered by drone.

I remember a hundred percent. They were talking about it. It sounded funny coming out of your mouth. I don't know what we're talking about, but you get your packages delivered by drone. It just hit my ears funny.

No, that is kind of cool. But I did some, I did a little bit of digging and by digging, I mean like the first Google result that I found, but I think people are scared because they're flying over sites where there's not supposed to be airspace or whatever. And so the consensus is these drones are, they're not US military quote unquote, but they're from private drone manufacturers. David, I think you actually know this cause you had to get your license to fly your drone. There was a drone security act in 2023 where basically people were saying, look, China's making too many of these things.

We need to start making them here in the US. So all these areas that they've been cited in are authorized UAS and AAM testing grounds. You know what I mean? So I think that's kind of where a lot of this is coming in. But the US military is not going to come out and just say, hey guys, we're testing drones.

They're private companies. Do you think this is one of those examples of people are fearful because they're kind of told or programmed to be fearful? Like it's the way it's being aired. Anything in the sky that looks like a spaceship. People feel like, oh, something's up.

There's a coverup. I think that's exactly it. They want, so I think people want so desperately a secret part of me included. They want so desperately for aliens to be real and to come down to this earth. And it means for me, it's just like growing up with science fiction, aliens and space stories.

I'm like, man, that was so cool. But I think people really want so desperately for the American government to be covering up UFOs. Yeah.

Yeah. I think they want a conspiracy. Yes, they do.

They do. But we know there are no such things as aliens. I preached a message called exclusive and this was back in, I want to say 2021.

That sounds about right. We'll link to that message. And we talked quite extensively in a message about aliens and whether or not they're real and how should we as believers, Bible believing believers, how should we approach this subject?

Yeah, it was September of 2021. Great, great message. It was a great message.

It is. And I think that's one of the things that people want. They're so captivated about what's in the sky. They're so captivated by all those things up there. It just represents limitless possibilities. And so that's the whole thing you always hear is that mathematically it's impossible, even though there's zero evidence. We have to, we have to admit there's zero. It's not just like very little evidence.

It's mathematically zero. People refuse to let it go. And so I think they see things like this and this is sort of their thing to jump on. You know, the paranoia starts to set in, the sensation starts to set in. It's also like group think. I mean, you hear this over and over again and everybody's talking about it.

Then you have this epidemic of people pushed toward a conclusion that they wouldn't normally reach on their own. Yeah. But then again, man, think about this.

Think about being back 2000 years ago and you're out in the field and you see this star and you're like that star, that whatever. Probably not. I don't think they thought that.

I can't even make my point. That was really funny. I didn't expect it to be that funny. The shepherds in the field, low up in the sky. It's a drone.

It's Chinese dude. What was that even saying? Oh, like imagine seeing that thing, that star up in the sky and like an, a literal angel coming to you and you're like, follow that right there. That's going to take you to the Messiah. Like, I'm sure that had to be like hard to swallow too. At the same time, it was so true.

You know what I mean? They followed it. They followed that star and it led them right to the baby Jesus in Bethlehem. To say a word or two about this whole alien craze that has been with us for, you know, about maybe a hundred years now.

It's just about that much time. If you go by the Flash Gordon comic books, Ming. Remember Ming? Was he the robot?

No, Ming was the, this evil emperor. Oh, I was thinking, you know what I was thinking? I was thinking Lost in Space. I know what you're talking about.

Flash Gordon. Yes. Yeah. Yes. The Emperor Ming. And Professor Zarco, I think it is.

But anyways. Ming the Merciless. Ming the Merciless.

That's it. Yeah. And by the way, they were Chinese. Oh, really? I was saying Ming.

That's like Ming dynasty kind of thing. Got you. Got you.

Got you. So in this message called Exclusive that I covered a lot on this whole alien question. Are we alone? Or is there another life somewhere in the universe?

Right. Well, I was going to say, I can see if you didn't approach it from a Christian perspective, I would say that it all points to, of course, we're not alone. But then you, for the Christian who believes and who knows truly that the humanity is God's masterpiece. The earth is God's creation. It does complicate it. And it leads to that.

Well, I mean, you, I don't want to, I don't want to take it away from you because I know you're exactly what I was going to say. Earth is unique compared to all other planets. For example, Jupiter is so big, right? That it holds on a onto lighter toxic gases along with wind speeds of 435 miles per hour.

You can't do it. No life. No. Mars, which we know as the red planet, does not have enough mass to hold onto its own atmosphere. Then you have Venus is the size of our planet. But because of the thick layers of carbon dioxide, it is a hostile world for life. And then Mercury has temperatures between negative 173 degrees Fahrenheit. Negative. On the earth, we have some negative temperatures at times, but negative 173, and it goes up as high as 427 degrees Fahrenheit. No way.

And then the earth, of course, the earth alone has the right atmosphere with the right mixture of oxygen and nitrogen, and also protects us from billions of meteors, ultraviolet rays. So this is a very unique planet. A hundred percent. A hundred percent. And I think it's one of those things where it reminds you of God's hand.

You know what I mean? The chances that this all happened just because of the right circumstances and the right criteria. Well, I think you did the math in that sermon. We'll go back and link to that sermon, but the odds are so astronomical, no pun intended, that it's way sillier to believe that God didn't do this. It just kind of happened, and it just happened in the right time and in the right measure. It's way more plausible to say somebody, something intelligent, created these circumstances in this way. That's right. Designed it. Yes.

Yes, of course. It points to all those factors where like, you know, if the earth was adjusted toward the sun or away from the sun by just a fraction, I mean, you're going to have people, the earth will be too hot or too cold. The atmosphere is exactly right. The tilt of the earth is exactly right. I mean, so many factors, just minute details that it's exactly suited to sustain life.

And think about like the orbits of the planets as well and how much they change for earth to have sustained life for as long as it has. You know what I mean? Like the universe doesn't keep things in order.

You know what I mean? In fact, if you would go with what secular scientists tell you, the universe is sheer chaos. Things just happen.

Which is not true. Right. Something is sustaining order on earth. Something is, it's not like human beings lived for like a couple thousand years and then went extinct because the earth wandered too far. Something is keeping it all in order. That's right. And there are other factors like the earth is about two thirds from the center of the Milky Way.

If it was any closer, it would be too bright, any further away, it'd be too dark at night. And the earth is covered. This is one of the biggest ones with 70% water. Yes.

Yes. So there are 70 billion gallons of water for every single person. That's incredible. 70 million gallons of water. So think of a billion, I'm sorry, 70 billion gallons of water per every single person.

Person on the face of the earth. The amount of water is staggering. The amount of life is so staggering. Yeah. Yeah. So we can talk on and on about this, all that to say that the earth is uniquely gifted or, you know, sustained to be able to sustain life. That's right.

Or uniquely blessed. That's right. Yes. So why do we have space out there? Why do we have space out there?

Well, if the universe is billions of light years across, it seems like an awful lot of wasted space. Right. Right. But if you read Isaiah chapter 55 in verse 8, it says, For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways, says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. Right.

So just like a baby sees his mom and dad or her mom and dad as that familiar face who loves on him and plays with him and takes care of him or her, you know, we tend to see God within the confines of our life and our world. The vastness of the universe is to teach us that God is so much more. Right. That's right. If you wonder why there's so much, why is there so much waste? No.

It is to teach you how big and powerful God is. Yeah. You know, scientists have yet to, with all their powerful telescopes, they have yet to come to the edge of the universe.

I don't think they will ever. No, not at all. I don't think so. That's why they call it the observable universe. You know, it's only what we can see. It's only what we can observe. And think about how monumental that distance is, knowing that God is so, and I think that's exactly it, knowing that God is so infinitely more. There's so much more out there that we probably will never, ever see before God calls us home. And yet at the same time, it reminds us that God is, again, infinite, you know, in his infinity.

Well, we talked about this. He's infinite in his infinity. That's right. To infinity. Infinities upon infinities. And beyond.

That's right. We talked about this, I think it was in an episode earlier this week, or maybe last week, about how we have this misconception of heaven. We're just going to be sitting on a cloud in a robe, singing holy, holy, holy for trillions and trillions and trillions of years. But if we're going to be dwelling in a new heavens and a new earth, then we get to spend that time enjoying and exploring and adventuring through all of God's creation. Those places and pieces of the corners of the universe that we would never otherwise see or even hear about. We get all of eternity to explore that and appreciate God's creation.

That's right. There's something very special about space, and I don't mean like outer space, like planets and stuff, but just space and time. Like the concepts, the physical concepts of space and time that I think truly, and I think, Dr. Shaw, it was your sermon that kind of helped me realize this, that heaven is going to sort of transcend those. You know what I mean? I don't want to say, I don't know if authority is the right word, but a certain level of control over time and space and how we move and interact with the new heaven.

That's right. Something I just want to point out to you, and our time is short, intelligent life in space, does it contradict the Bible? Two things I want to mention here, three things really. One is that if there were intelligent life out there, there should have been some contact by now. So, oh, how do you know there isn't? Well, we're not going to get into that. Second, our radio signals through SETI.

SETI is Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence. They have nothing but total silence. Since the 70s, nothing. That's what I was saying, like it's not even that we can say there's very little evidence, it's zero. There's zero.

So that should be enough to go, maybe there's nothing out there. And so if human beings are created a little lower than angels, as even the book of Hebrews talks about, Psalm 8 and book of Hebrews, then we are the next in the ranking order. There is no intelligent life. There are no Klingons and Ferengis. No Vulcans out there. Vulcans out there above us. Now, how about all the sightings? Okay, this is where the drones come in. Even we think that the drones may more than likely be some government test or something happening. But what about the 100 years or so the claims that have been made regarding UFOs and aliens? Roswell. Roswell, yeah. Area 51.

Three things to mention here. Number one, hoax. Then there is misidentification, which is planet Venus, meteors, satellites, space shuttles, weather balloons, northern and southern lights, birds, aircrafts, sun's reflections, headlights, street lights, kites, insect swarms, and especially government military aircraft that hasn't been made public. I mean, this may be the drone that you're seeing.

Yes. That's what a lot of what I saw online said that 99% of all this hysteria is just misidentification. They're airplanes. And I know it's like they're airplanes coming down. And that was one of the things that's like, yes, drones are not allowed to fly over this specific area, but United Airlines absolutely can fly over this area. Right.

Exactly. So not all these alien encounters were lies. Some were actually telling the truth, but they were not aliens.

This is what I want us to remember that. Sometimes you have demonic forces that are out there that manifest themselves or reveal themselves and people are misled, distracted, obsessed with it. Some people are obsessed with extraterrestrial.

That's true. And so this is also how Satan works. So I would suggest, you know, keep the conversation more on Christ than on these celestial bodies or some drones or whatever. Try to bring it back to, you know, who God is and how much God cares about his creation and how much the Bible is the truth regarding everything in life.

And so if the Bible if the Bible is not saying anything about aliens out there, then neither should we worship the creator, not the creation. That's right. That's right. That's right.
