Something unsettling is happening among young white liberal women. Those who once claimed woke compassion now celebrate punishment, exclusion, and violence, as long as it's aimed at the right people. All this and more coming up right now on the Cleveland Today Show. You're listening to Clearview Today with Dr. Abadan Shah, the daily show that engages mind and heart for the gospel of Jesus Christ.
I'm Ryan Hill. I'm John Galantis. Welcome to another great episode of the Clearview Today Show here in studio with our host, Dr. Abadan Shaw. If you're listening for the very, very first time today, Dr.
Shah has a PhD in New Testament textual criticism, professor at Carolina University, author, full-time pastor, and the host of today's show. Dr. Shah, welcome. It's good to be here. Good to see you.
I feel like our conversations have centered on this recently, but the world is a crazy place. It's a crazy place. It's a crazy place. And it's getting crazier. I was about to say that.
And some days it just feels like it's just getting crazy. People have been texting us asking when we're going to get back to Job. I promise you, we are going to get back to Job. I have been putting this off long enough. I do have to read something that I promised that I would read as soon as you guys got back from Israel.
I'm so, so sorry to the person who wrote in. Brian, I do want to read this just because I promised I would. Dr. Shah, someone wrote in and said, Hi guys, good afternoon. I just saw you guys on your podcast and I was thinking about my situation.
That this is the worst state of condition I have ever been in. I was in an electric scooter accident. Long story short, I fractured my collarbone and my jaw. Also broke my pinky, fractured my ring finger. Just wondering if you guys would pray for me to get well soon.
I really appreciate your support. It means a lot to me from the bottom of my heart. Thank you guys. Love Brian. He sent that when you were in Israel, and I said, as soon as they get back, I will let them know.
We'll read it. And then each episode that we've done has just been all these world events.
So, Brian, absolutely, we are praying for you. And thank you for listening. Absolutely.
Well, can I pray a short prayer? Yes, please. God, we pray that you would be with Brian, encourage him, Lord, and help him to know that you are the God who heals and you're the God who always brings something good through even. These kinds of situations. We love you and we thank you for Jesus.
It's in His name we pray. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen.
So, going into today's topic, Dr. Shah, it's no good complaining. It's pointless to holler. If she's a liberal, she'll get under your collar. She made a monkey out of old King Kong.
Come on, man. That's the Muppets. You know that. No idea what you're talking about. I truly hope something better comes along.
You never heard that? No. You made a monkey out of old King Kong. I hope that something better comes along. It's a song you complain about women.
So sorry.
So, Dr. Dark. All right, all right. I may just cut that whole thing up. Dr.
Sha, something unsettling truly is happening among young white liberal women in America. Do you want to talk to us a little bit before we dive into that? Yeah.
So I try to catch up on the news and cultural situations and social issues going on in our world. And right now, in America, a lot's happening, especially in Minnesota, which has sort of become the Portland of our times. Yeah.
And. It it the faces that you're seeing now are of these white women. who are leftists, liberals, Who are angry? They're not just like. Calling for change or Stand up for rights.
Or pro-choice. No, they are Angry. No, yeah. They want to hurt you. I mean, it's it's uh There's a problem.
Yeah.
It's just this, this, I mean, almost like a rallying cry, like a call for violence. Right. Which is, it sounds bizarre that that's happening in 2026 in America. Right. And I'm not sure.
Is it just a very small segment that is getting a lot of airtime or? You know, you're getting a lot of videos, and because of Renee Good being shot because she tried to run over an ICE officer. I'm not sure. I is that what's br bringing all this to the surface, or has it been happening for a while and it's across the board? I don't know.
A lot of things I've read ha it will trace it back to President Trump's second inauguration. Where it was like, okay, now it's time to truly rise up.
Now it's time to real it's time to understand for the left that the only language that the right speaks is violence, therefore it's time for violence. And I think there's been an uptick in violent crimes, especially like politically charged among. The left towards the right. Yeah.
And it was kind of funny. I genuinely didn't think. It was really it had a name to it, but this they call it Dark Woke. Yeah, I heard of that. And I genuinely thought it was a joke.
I thought it was like a joke that people on the right gave to them, like to mock them. No, no, no, they're claiming this. This is who they claim to be. They're not just woke, but they're dark wolves.
So, yeah. That is the dorkiest thing I've ever heard in my life. That's like when they tried to introduce dark Jedi. It's like you've got the Jedi who were good, and you've got the Sith who are bad, but we can't be the Sith. We have to be the Jedi.
Dark Jedi. But we're evil Jedi. It's like, what the heck is the difference? Edgy. Yeah, that's dork woke.
No, seriously. Dark woke, I couldn't believe it was an actual thing. And we started looking it up, and it's basically this thing that's very popular among young white liberal women. Where it's like I'm just like this vigilante. Yes, where it's like they have this thing called like national like Punch a Nazi Day, where they go out, which is like if you're in I'm fine with it go punch a Nazi Day.
Yeah, go for it. But here's the thing. To say that every conservative or a person who believes in conservative values is a Nazi grief. Yes, that's what it is. It's not true.
It is really, functionally, it's Punch a Conservative Day. People will go out. They upload videos of themselves, of themselves either getting into a political debate with someone or finding someone that they just know and just socking them in the mouth and knocking them out. And they'll upload it and people on Reddit, people online, they eat it up. They love it.
It's weird. It's really weird, and it's violent. It's kind of scary. Where did this culture come from? This call for violence?
I think it's been coming for quite some time. And let me go and say it right from the beginning, it's because of the breakdown of the family, it's because we have walked away from the Judeo Christian values, the biblical principles on who a man is and who a woman is. The biblical uh Model for what a marriage is all about. Since we have abandoned that, this is the aftermath. This is what happens when we abandon biblical standards, biblical principles for gender, for male-female roles, for marriage.
This is what we have now. Right, right. And I'm not saying every woman is that way, every Midwestern woman is this way, or every white woman. No, thank God, that's not the case. We know that.
We know better than that. But. right now for some reason, and I don't know how long it'll be. Maybe another month, maybe another six months. I don't know.
But right now, that is the case. And it definitely has an air of these are things that everybody, even people who are dark woke, we all agree these are unacceptable things to do, unless you're aiming it at someone who's a conservative or who's a Republican, because they are the oppressive enemy. You know what I'm saying? Yeah.
That that's there's there's this air of We all know this is unacceptable, but we're making it acceptable because it's against the right people. Right. We're willing to engage in this behavior because the threat of conservatives, the threat of the right wing is so intense. But it's silly because the only goal that I can really see is just to make. Wokeness, not cringy.
It's to make wokeness cool, like Democrats cool again. I'm sure it's there, and I don't want to, I don't want to gloss over it because I'm sure it probably exists, and I'm just not aware of it. But it feels very one-sided. Like, I don't see a lot of conservatives, like, let's go punch a liberal. I, I don't, I don't I just was there.
And if it was, we would condemn it. If it were there and we saw it, we would be like, hey, you can't do that. You know, when you punch and when you do those kind of things, when you don't have sense enough to reason. He said, Well, we're past reason. I know.
Welcome to the East. Yeah, we had reason. But when we walked away from reason, now we have what you're doing right now. Welcome to the East, where the mob rules. And if you get caught in mob justice, they will hurt you.
And the police will just sit back and watch because what are you gonna do? Yeah, you have four policemen with a latte. Latti is like a long stick. Growing up, I remember seeing the policemen.
Sometimes they just let the mob beat up the bad guy. Wow. Yeah.
Wow. Like if there was a wreck, and let's just say this guy hit a child or hit a woman or something like that, the mob will jump on that guy, and the police will just be like, We're not stepping in. But they can, and they can make it stop, but sometimes they're like, Not my problem. Yeah.
Yeah.
What we're seeing now is what happens when reason goes out the window. But let me talk a little more about this. This is not just that we walked away from biblical values or we were no longer you know you know many many of our people, young people have not grown up in Christian homes with biblical values. And again, when I say Christian homes, I'm not saying perfect home. There are no perfect homes.
Every home has struggles. Every home has up and downs. But As a Christian, you try to live by God's way. You make mistakes, but you try to do the best you can. And so you give your children a pattern on how to live.
How to have a successful marriage. How to know your role as a husband, as a wife, or as a man, or as a woman. But when you walk away from those Christian values, from those biblical principles, then you have chaos. And what's happening here is that chaos, but it's more. And what is that more?
It's our College and university system that has not only failed our young people. Are young people who may now be in their fifties, sixties?
So I'm talking about in the past four or five decades, but it has also misguided them to take up causes. to take up situations without reasoning and saying, is it right? Is it wrong? Or should I just have a bleeding heart and jump in this this fight? And try to punch people or run them over with a car.
Oh, no, that's a police officer. Yes, that's right. And I'm going to hit him.
Something's wrong. This is why what Charlie Kirk and Turning Point USA were doing and are continuing to do is so important because college students are a targeted group of people. They're a targeted group of people in that, you know, people want to latch onto them and sway their thinking because they're impressionable. They're away from mom and dad. They are formulating their own opinions about the world.
And they're ready as a demographic to jump behind a cause. And it's all too often that they latch onto the wrong one. And I think this dark woke thing is not just like physical violence in the streets, like protesting and rioting get out of hand. I think it's also the mindset. Like you brought up Charlie Kirk.
Remember the, I mean, we were in Greece when it happened, but remember all of the reaction on the left. You know, not all. There were some that were like, hey, that shouldn't have happened. But tons and tons and tons of young liberal people were like celebrating. Yeah.
Making women were celebrating. Yes. Young white women. That was what I saw a lot of. I didn't see a lot of young liberal men celebrating.
It was mostly women. Is there a conversation to be had here, Dr. Shaw, about you know, typically when we think of women, we think of nurturing, caring, compassionate, empathetic. Is there a conversation to be had about Women being the ones who are at the forefront celebrating violence.
Well, I don't know who is the sinister force behind this, but Right now, they are being portrayed as the face of this revolution, this face of standing up against ICE or standing up against President Trump or whatever it is.
So they are being used. I'm not saying it is necessarily true that it's only women doing this. I think there are. Evil foreign forces behind this. This is a propaganda coming right out of Hitler's Mein Kampf.
This is the propaganda that works in communist Marxist countries like China and Russia and like Iran. You say Iran, communist, yeah, Islamic Marxism.
So, all I'm saying here is. You know, whether it is really true or not. But Women White young women or middle-aged women are right now the face of this hate, this movement. And I and I think It's an indictment on us as a church that we haven't done a good job in training our young people, especially. are girls to know God has fearfully and wonderfully made them, and that being a female is not.
Uh it it you know, it's not something bad, it's not something to look down upon. She is beautifully made. And she has a different role. And again, role does not mean that. that she is less or she is um Subservient to a man?
No, of course not. I have two girls. I would never tell them to go be subservient to a man. But they have their own roles, they have their own purpose. But right now They are being told that your future is in jeopardy.
Your rights have been taken away. Look at what happened to Roe v. Wade. And look at what's happening with this Trump coming into power. Look, look, you are threatened.
So stand up and fight. Be a feminist. And not just any feminist, but be a violent feminist. You need to be. If not, we're going back to the dark.
When you teach them this kind of rhetoric, Of course, they're going to believe it. Yes, of course. You know, a lot of, I think, what we're seeing online, like I just saw a dark, I Googled like just dark woke tweets or ex posts, and one of them said, My grandma voted for Trump, so I made sure she fell down the stairs.
So I get it, right? Really? Yeah, someone wrote that. Yeah.
No, I get it. That probably didn't happen, and you're lashing out and you're saying, But the thing is, this online speech, this online, like this online environment shapes people. I'm thinking again about the guy who murdered Charlie Kirk, right? All of that agenda, he didn't just born with that. He didn't learn that from the world around him.
He learned it online from people making jokes and talking like this and pushing back and pushing back and pushing back. And it warped his mind to the point where he was like, I'm going to be the hero that the left needs. And now someone's dead because of it. And I call that the Chinese strategy on TikTok to infiltrate the minds and the hearts of our young people. 100%.
And even these women who are doing this. Again, praise God. Not all women in America think like this. Not all white women think like this. Not all young white or middle-aged white women think like this.
Not all Midwestern white, young women think like this. Thank God for that. But right now, they are being used as the face to, I think, to inspire. Negatively inspire more women to join into this movement. I think you're 100% right.
I think what we're seeing and what we're talking about today is a minority, but it is a vocal minority, and it's being held up. Held out there. Exactly. Held up as the picture to aspire to. This is your goal, ladies.
This is what you want to do. This is what it means to be a champion of women. Do you think there's some theological implications? I know we've talked on the show before that typically the enemy, and not. Always, but typically the enemy will target women.
Like he targeted Eve. Yeah, yeah. The very first woman. See, you know, there's a difference between. And I heard this back in seminary days, and it was it was very insightful for me.
I mean it's like you know, because you're so tired, you're working late night hours, then you're studying for Greek and and and theology and all this stuff. And I remember one of my professors making this comment And I was awake at that point. And he says something like: you know, there's a difference between a male. in a female when it comes to being A heretic. I was like Huh?
I was like, what so I started listening. He said, he said, when a man, when a man wants to be a heretic, is defiant. There is no God. You know, you know, that very defined, very Bold. There is no God.
When it comes to a female being a heretic, it's more about. Accommodating. Every religion is the same. God loves everybody. We're all children of God.
You see how They're very different. Very different. It's more about accommodating rather than about shaking your fist towards heaven. Yeah.
Now you say which one is better? I think both of them are bad, but if I had to take one, I would take the one that says there is no God.
So I can at least know, okay, I know where you stand. Let's talk. But on the other side, when you have this, everybody's equal, everybody's okay, that's all right, honey. If that makes you happy, a man doesn't think like that. Right.
Because you can, you, you know, and I'm with you. I would rather have, okay, I know, like you said, I know exactly where you stand. There's a direct confrontation. This is a one-on-one thing. Right.
There's no, like, with a, with a woman, and if it's, it's really accommodating like that.
Now there's social norms we have to figure out. There's research I got to do. I got to get in your head and start thinking about how you're, how do we untangle it? Man, don't do that. Yeah, exactly.
In the conversation to address that heresy, too, a man saying there is no God would be an easier turnaround. Yeah.
Okay, I've been proven wrong. There is a God. Right. Whereas, you know, this works for you. This is true for you.
I don't want to infringe upon you. That's a much harder shift because it's much more fluid. And when you see that in the church, okay, now when I'm talking about heresy. In the church, that happens a lot. That's why I believe strongly.
That when Paul talks about men leading in the church, right? Pastor, the head of the church being a male, a pastor, it's very important because this is one of the reasons for the downfall of the church.
Now, I'm not saying that every male-led church is like booming and growing, not true. I'm not saying for a moment that women cannot learn theology. I mean, shucks. I have commentaries written by women. Phenomenal job.
Brilliant, godly, wonderful commentaries.
So, I'm not saying that you cannot study about God, or if it's a male, then it's all set for success. Not true. But generally speaking, When there is male leadership, okay, then there is possibility for growth. There's possibility to know: hey, this is a church. And this is how we're gonna be.
That's the world. And that's not welcome in here.
Okay, there is that differentiation, there is that. clear distinction. When it comes to women leadership in the church, that's not the case. It's very accommodating. It's not about numbers anymore.
It's about How we love one another.
So we may be small, but that's okay. We can be small and love God. You you get what I'm saying? Yes. It's very accommodating, and that's why a lot of times when men are not leading in the church and it's led by women only.
Many of those churches begin to shrivel up and die. Because now they are in a holy holy huddle just taking care of themselves.
Now men may be there in that church, but they have sort of abdicated their authority, their rule to the women because it's like by the way, women are far more spiritually minded than men anyways. I've said that for a long time, and it's not unique to me. I've heard other people say it too. But women are far more spiritually minded than men. Satan did not go to Adam and say, Do you want to be like God knowing good and evil?
He'd be like, I'm good. I mean, Adam would be like, I'm all right. I'm fine. God is God. I'm not.
Hey, I'm good. You said, Don't eat. I'm taking a lot of pressure. I'm not that hungry yet. That's right.
I hang out here, walk around in my birthday suit, play with the monkeys. What else can I want for it? Eat coconuts. I mean, come on, mangoes, bananas. I've got it made.
But he went to the woman. He went to Eve and said, Don't you want to be like God knowing good and evil? And she's like, yes, I do. That sounds great.
So when she saw that the tree was good for food, pleasant to the eyes. And desirable to make one wise. You see, she reasoned all that. Good for food. pleasant to the eyes, desirable to make one wise, all based on senses.
She took up that fruit, ate, and gave it to the moron. I mean, to Adam. And he ate it instead of saying, Hey, you know what, God told us not to do this. He's like, okay. Yeah.
She gave it to a dumb. I mean, Adam. Yeah.
And he was right there. He was not far away. Right. He was right there.
So you saw the whole thing.
So, what do you, how do we? Take this into account now because now it seems like it's being flipped on its head where women are expecting this.
Society of love and nurturing, and they're fed up that they're not getting it, right? And it's all because of those pesky Republicans, those hateful, bigoted dictators who always sit in power.
So now the only thing that we can do is turn to violence, turn to public shaming, just turn to cruelty. Yeah.
Because it's the only language they speak. How do we, how do we reverse that? How do you answer that line of reasoning? Yeah.
How do you, what do you even say to it? I mean, it's time. It's time people in America wake up. I mean, why are we doing this radio show? Five days a week.
I mean, I really appreciate you guys, John, Ryan, David, Adam, Nick, all these people, and the rest of our staff working. Their jobs, and then also helping this show be possible on Pray.com and Truth Network and other radio stations. Why are we doing this? We're doing this because we want to be a voice out there, a voice that is biblically based, a voice that is unafraid to speak our convictions, biblical convictions, a voice that ultimately. Loves people.
I don't care you're saved or lost. I don't care what. Whether you're right or left, conservative or liberal, Democrat or Republican, I don't care. We want to tell you Jesus loves you. And this is the truth.
Amen. And we're not going to come punch you and be angry with you, but we love you. Yes. But you need to hear the truth. And this is, and I'm really glad you're saying this, Dr.
Shaw, because believe it or not, we were just talking about this before we started the show. We looked it up on Pray.com. I think I've looked it up last week, as of last week. And I think as the last time we looked it up, too. Our main demographic on Prey.com is young.
Democrat. Leaning. White women. Yeah.
Now that's about 60% of our listenership on Prey.com only.
So I'm not talking about Truth Network, TBN, none of that, but on Prey.com only. We have access to those metrics.
So I'm glad to hear you say that because that means, at least to me, that that message is at least landing. Yeah.
On the right ears. And I'm hoping if you fit that category, you may not be white, you may just be. Young woman or middle-aged women, whatever age you are, doesn't matter. But if you're a female, I hope. You will not be offended by this.
I hope you will take time to To reason and think about what's happening in our country, what's happening in the world. Don't be offended, reason. And Ask yourself the question, am I am I Caught up in my feelings, and am I listening to people on social media, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, whatever? And I am being swept away by this movement. Am I Am I being used By the wrong people for a wrong agenda.
Don't let people use you. That's right. Think for yourself and stand up and go, okay, this immigration thing.
Okay? Your heart goes out to those people who whose family members are taken away.
Okay, let's I get that. But ICE, they're doing their job. They're trying to do the job for which they were. They were assigned. Not by this administration, but this is what they do.
Let them do their job. You say, well, there's people who have been taken away. Don't buy into everything that you see on social media. I mean, I am a journalism major. and and we knew how to cut and splice.
to make a new sound a certain way. And we were not told to be biased or whatever, but we were told, it's like, okay, so. Here's a news report. This is the story. This person is going to talk about a lot of things, but this is what you want from them.
So, this is how you ask the questions.
Now what if they don't answer the question? correctly or directly, what do you do?
Well, You keep asking them until you get enough material, and then you put it together. And there's a story. You put it together the way you want it to sound. Yeah.
Yeah.
So. Come on, ladies, there are people out there who are tailoring these videos. To get you. And that was how it was done in the 90s. Like, imagine how much better people have gotten at it.
Oh, yeah. People can do it right on their phones. Absolutely.
They can edit videos on their phone. They can't on TikTok. I mean, they're editing videos all the time. And the media, of course, is biased.
So don't listen to them. Do your own research. Why am I a brown person, right? An immigrant to America. Why am I deciding on the issues that I'm signing on because I've taken the time to research to think I don't want to be used right I've had people say to me, I can't believe you believe this because don't you know that this government is going after people like you?
I'm like Really? I don't see that. They're not going after me. Yeah.
I came here legally to begin with. But what if he came uh here illegally? I hope you will you will talk to people and and make things straight. But over the past four years under President Biden, with the open border um policy. A lot of bad elements.
Millions. I mean, come on. Millions of bad people came in. That's right. Yeah.
Americans have been killed, raped. uh used in in in uh um human trafficking. Drugs that have come I mean, come on. I didn't come here for that purpose. I came here just to get my education and then in time I I met my wife, I married her, I still didn't change my citizenship.
Until I came to a point where I felt like, you know what, it's time for me to decide. I can't play both sides. I have to decide: am I going to be American or am I going to hold to my citizenship in India? Mm-hmm. And it was a no-brainer at that point.
I said, absolutely, I'm an American. These are my values. Those founding fathers are not just some old white men, they are. My Uh my predecessors, you know. My spiritual ancestors were they all perfect.
Did they own slaves? Yes. They're not perfect. Yes, some of them did. But What were they hoping for?
They were making a place for me one day to come. That's true. and raise my family and live and all this.
So what am I asking you to do? Male or female? White or black, brown. Whatever colouring. whatever age you are.
Young, middle-aged, old. Think for yourself. That's right. Research these issues. Don't get swept away by what you're watching or hearing.
Don't let people use you. They're using you. Yeah, so good.
