Jane Pauley is off this week. I'm Lee Cowan, and this is Sunday morning. With the calendar turning to 2025 this past week, we're all looking forward with great anticipation to just what this year could bring. For a very unusual and exceedingly rare group of us, though, the future is very much now.

Child prodigies, those youngsters who are precocious, curious, and driven to succeed well beyond their years. This morning, Susan Spencer introduces us to a few of these prodigious talents who could someday change our world. Meet 12-year-old math prodigy, Shaborno Bari.

It's not that hard to figure out that the velocity... He scored a 1500 on his SAT, started college in September, and plans to get a PhD by 16. Math is one of the most beautiful things, probably the most beautiful thing that I've encountered in my life, and I never want to stop doing it no matter what other people say.

Well, can you imagine life without math and science? Nope, honestly, no. The brilliant, unique world of prodigies ahead on Sunday morning. We'll be hearing from a pair of Oscar-winning actors this morning, both of whom are nominees for their latest movies at tonight's Golden Globes.

Seth Doan and Tracy Smith do the honors. She's made more than 80 films, and Tilda Swinton's takeaway surprised us. Do you still learn things from other actors at this point?

I'm not so interested in the working aspect of that relationship. I'm interested in the friendship, and I find them through making films. A Sunday profile of Tilda Swinton. And then Adrian Brody is starring in an epic new film about the American dream, a dream that he, in a sense, is living to. I feel incredibly blessed, but I see how the path has been long.

We take a ride with Adrian Brody and a stroll with Tilda Swinton later this Sunday morning. Memorial services for former president Jimmy Carter began yesterday in his home state of Georgia, and they'll run through Thursday when his state funeral is held at Washington's National Cathedral. Rita Braver takes a look at our 39th president's remarkable life. In Plains, Georgia, the place where he lived most of his 100 years, President Jimmy Carter is being celebrated for work that extended far beyond politics. You've been quoted as saying that you think maybe you've had a better ex-presidency than presidency.

Certainly my reputation has been better in the post-presidential years. Coming up on Sunday morning, remembering James Earl Carter Jr. A lesser-known passion of President Carter was his love of music, so we've asked Bill Flanagan to tell us all about that. On the subject of music, with David Pogue, we'll head to the movies, movies accompanied by a live symphony orchestra.

Luke Burbank visits a California art center offering loving support to artists with disabilities. All that and more on this first Sunday morning of the new year, January 5, 2025. We'll be back after this. And the classes really do make a difference. 88% of members feel that MasterClass has made a positive impact on their lives. Its score, written by John Williams, is one of the reasons why the movie, now five decades old, believe it or not, is so iconic. Today, epic soundtracks are thrilling audiences in a whole new way, as we'll hear from David Pogue.

Cooper, where are you? The worst way to watch Jaws is like this. Now! Without music. Shoot! Now! A good way to watch it is with John Williams' famous score coming from your speakers.

Time! But the best way to watch Jaws might be with a live orchestra playing that score. In the silent film days, live music always accompanied movies, and movies were events. Over the years, theaters got smaller, then people started watching it on their television, then they watched it on their computer, then they watched it on their phone. Steve Linder is the co-founder of Film Concerts Live, one of several companies that rent out the sheet music and equipment that orchestras need to perform one of these movies. What we do is we bring it back, bring movie going back to what it was originally intended to be, with live music and in a communal experience.
