North Carolina lawmakers are leaving several major policy fights unresolved until after the November election, setting up a potentially busy post-election session in Raleigh. Meanwhile, the UNC System is responding to calls from the Trump administration for higher education reforms by pointing to changes already implemented across North Carolina’s public universities. A lumber manufacturer is also planning a $40 million investment in Scotland County that is expected to create 43 jobs.
