The hosts discuss the importance of reading the Bible with their spirit, the living word, and how it can change one's life. They share personal experiences and encourage listeners to go back to the Bible and read it with their spirit, not just with their eyes. They also talk about the definition of a Christian and how it's not just a noun, but an action verb.

Three, two, one. Yeah. I'll stay in the sky. Welcome to another edition of Bridging the Gap. We're taking the word to the streets.

Bridging the Gap with Dwayne Kennedy. Oh, don't go nowhere. You're listening to Bridging the Gap. With your hosts, Wayne Kennedy and Ellen Forbes. Yes, and amen.

Hey, welcome, welcome to Bridging the Gap. We are in the house today. We are. Hallelujah. We are.

Good. Yes, right. Happy to be praised. That's right. And you know, let me clarify something too.

When I say we're in the house, most of the time, I'm thinking about... The house of the Lord. Right. You know, being in his presence and his kingdom and all that stuff. Right.

But that's what I mean. Most of the time, when I'm saying I'm talking, but you know, the street vernacular is like, we in the house, you know, party time. Party time. You know, so it's a good thing.

Well, hey, he's a party for me. This is my party. Yeah. Yeah. God is good, man.

I'm going to tell you, I wish other people, and this is what I think, I think if people would really seek him and find how good he is. They will have a whole different perspective. But I think we have a we just have a lot of what we call what I call surface Christians. Yeah. And they just stay on the surface.

Yeah. You know, but I mean, but that you know, hey, that. If people were to actually, actually research the word prosperity, if you really research it where its original meaning, Is not not Webster's dictionary. No, no, no, no, no. You got to go back.

Okay.

So when you go back to the, I'm going to try to look it up, but the dictionary that I'm talking about is like the original dictionary.

Okay.

And it was translated.

So the word prosperity actually means joy.

Okay.

Some people think prosperity means. Riches and you know, what we call them, wealth builders, and you know, things like that. No, the word prosperity actually means joy. If you don't believe me, look it up. I always challenge people to look it up.

Really, for yourself, the word prosperity means joy. When you have joy, I feel like if you have joy, all those other things. don't really matter, but I feel like you get them because you just have joy. And when I say get them, I'm not saying that you know you have a million dollars, I ain't saying that. But you may.

Do you make? What I'm saying is, when you have joy, true joy in the Lord, you do feel like a millionaire. You know, you do feel great. You know, like you just said, hey, you know, we in the house. That was the terminology that we used when we were ready to party, right?

So to me, we in the house to me means, yeah, we about to party. We're about to party. And that's what I mean by, you know, having true. Joy is, you know, when your life changes, when you know, all those things are put aside, that man is put aside, you know, you kind of, you know, you start operating in the spirit where we're supposed to be operating. And the party is right here, right now.

So, y'all are welcome to the Bridging the Gap Radio Party. Party. Amen. Let's do it all in the name of the Lord. Do we have a DJ today?

Do we have a DJ? Yeah, we're DJing.

Okay, everybody, get you know, get you some water, get you some juice, you know. And hold on tight because we got a subject too. We're gonna just unleash on you guys. Listen, we mean business. I'm not here every Saturday, and Anella's not here every Saturday just to come here and to talk to you.

Listen, we're trying to change lives and change people in the direction of Christ. And one thing I know. Is that all it takes is a word. That's right. All it takes is a word from God.

That's right. See, so as we speak and as we share and as you listen to some of this good gospel music, you know, all you need is a word from God to meet you wherever you are. And this is what I love about the word of the Lord: He said, His word will not return unto him void. See, so anytime we're putting our hands to do somebody, mm-hmm. And it's up to you to receive it.

But somebody is going to receive something that God put out there. That's right. Now you have to receive it, and then you have to apply it in your life. But this is some real stuff to me, man. This world's going crazy.

This world's going crazy. Yeah. Hey, but you know, I like getting right into that good gospel music. And we're going to go to my boys' gospel, Jesus. Hallelujah.

You know what I always say? I used to always say, You could take me out of Philadelphia. But Philadelphia would always be in me. And the sense of that is. That was my upbringing.

I was raised in the streets. My dad wasn't around. I was raised in the street, literally raised in the streets. I had old heads telling me, and now you're looking back too much. Don't worry about this.

You know what I mean? And this was not godly instructions. But then it was how the Lord used what I had in me for his kingdom. Amen. But this is gospel, Jay's.

New York Allies. New York, New York, and the best. It's here, it's here. You're listening to Bridging the Gap. Bridging the Gap.

House. Oh. Khaki suits and pennies, heaven is where we citizens. Faith is what I be living in. Huntsley get my penjamins.

about us this is what you I told you this is war It's the legend that we say it again. Take stuff. Can't make sure, can't make sure. Get a stretcher. Bridging the gap.

I keep my eyes on Jesus Christ. I know that he paid the ultimate price. He gave his life so you can have life. If you got God, then you be alright. This is the best decision of my life.

I gotta keep on doing what is right. And I gotta be careful with sin. The devil, he tryna knock me out of fight. And I'm sorry I sinned again. But I gotta get up.

I can't stay down when I can't stay stuck. And I'm really blessed, man. This ain't no luck. And it's straight love, man, this ain't no lust. And it's really true, his grace is enough.

He ain't never liar, he got my trust. He ain't never liar, he got my trust. He ain't never lie like, okay. I'ma keep doing what my God say. I'ma put my trust in him always.

I ain't never going back to my old ways. No way, like, okay. I'ma keep doing what my God says. I'ma put my trust in him always. I ain't never going back to my old ways.

Give me a minute. I was just lost in this world. I was chasing them girls. Yeah, that's how I was living. I was just stuck in the trap.

I was lost in my tracks. And you know that I gotta admit it. Man, I lived and I learned it, I got a hand. His world never been the same since I lived it, yeah Never been the same Yeah, I keep my eyes on Jesus Christ. I know that He paid the ultimate price.

He gave His life, so you can have life. If you got God, then you be alright. This is the best that's. Of my life, I gotta keep on doing what is right, and I gotta be careful with sin. The devil, he's trying to knock me out to fight.

And my God showed me what true love is. Ave in my heart, and I told him, Coming. Never been the same, yeah, he's doing somethin' Gave me a new life, yeah, I love him This is no game and I ain't Friday. I was really dog. I was really burning.

Now I'm in this race, I'ma keep running Jesus coming back, yeah, I know he's coming. I know he's coming back one day. Had to make a U-turn, cause I went the wrong way. If you wanna go to heaven, man, there's only one way. One way, one way, one way.

And I know he's coming back. One day, had to make a U-turn because I went the wrong way. If you wanna go to heaven, man. There's only one way. I keep my eyes on Jesus Christ.

I know that He paid the ultimate price. He gave His life so you can have life. If you got God, then you'll be alright. Oh Jesus Christ. I know that he Paid the ultimate price.

He gave his life so you can have life. If you have You're listening to Bridging the Gap. Yeah. Lord, I didn't been stuck in my darkness so long for Heartless.

Sometimes I feel thoughtless, I don't know where I lost. And I'm spending too much time trying to figure that out.

So that's probably the reason I've been exhausted. Feeling like giving up. Feeling like I've been stuck, I'm feeling like I ain't what the word says I am. Gotta remind myself, tell myself, yes, I am. Lord, take my hand through this valley of death.

Battle what is unseen while I battle my flesh. I keep hearing these voices telling me to confess. Maybe that's in the wind, or maybe that's just a stress. I can't picture the judgment, get prepared for the test. My brother's calling to check on me, I just send him a text.

I tell him everything good, knowing I've been erect. Cause I don't want him to know, my choice has been incorrect. Asking God for discernment, cause I don't know what to expect. Am I living a lie, or am I living my best? Am I willing to die if my day was up next?

Feel like I keep giving more, and I'm just getting back less. When I'm speaking my mind, I just take us back steps.

Sometimes I feel we attached, but know the day that you left. I be feeling secure till you tell me you guessed.

Some people say that they curse, some believe that they bless.

So what are you, huh? What are you? I've been stuck inside my darkness so long for heartless. Told me that you would enlarge my harvest, but all the moves I've been making ain't been my smartest. I trusted men and got slaughtered.

That's when I slowly departed away. My lack told, ain't got me the fathers. I've been from the father. Without him on my side, I just fade like a barber. I die out like a phone off the charger.

I took off my armor. When I start making you the author and making me larger. I blamed it on the way I'm brought up. Like that's an excuse. When you can't see your fruit produced, cause your mind has been caught up.

You're compromising consolidation. You feel like an embarrassment. Make you wanna go give it all up. Yeah, you put this wall up and isolated yourself. And now Satan is talking to your head.

Tell you not to hit God up. He'll tell you that you're not worth it. Hit drown you when lies he draws up. Even when I can see through my darkness, Jesus, I call him. He said that it be my life, so he's the one that I follow.

The center of life I wish we was all on It's my dark days, he brought me from life or death and the power of the tongue. What is yours saying? Currently. What is yours saying? We're taking the word to the streets, bridging the gap.

The For the kingdom in the city, speaking life into the youth, can you feel me? We're bridging again, yeah. We're bridging the gap, yeah. Creating mysteries to the church, men of them know that God goes first. We're bridging the gap, yeah.

We're bridging the gap, yeah. Yes, and amen. Hey, God is good. God is good. All the time, all the time.

Listen, I got to give a shout out to my hairstylist. I got to give a shout out to her. Her name is Michaela from the Sweetest Lime. Saline. You know, I know, you know, a lot of people can't see it, you know, but you know, if you can see it on Facebook Live, she's a little bit more.

I took some pictures yesterday. I'm going to send it to you. Yeah, I took some pictures. She got to send me some pictures. Yeah, she did it up.

She did it up. This is my first time having like an updude that's going to, you know, be. Up for a while.

So she has a, it's like a fishtail.

Well, we call it a fishtail. going up. And I love it. It's so cool. It's so relaxing.

My hair is off my neck. I'd like to give a shout out to you because, you know, you guys don't know what she advertises. She puts it out there, but yesterday she had a real dynamic event for One Love Strong Ministry, One Love Strong Foundation. And she's doing some great stuff. And tell us a little bit about One Love.

Can we hear a little bit about that? You want to talk about One Love? Yeah, I want you to share something. Strong Foundation is an organization that assists families. During preterm birth.

So preterm means that you know the baby came early. But the baby came significantly early.

So, we assist families a lot of different ways. All of our programs and services are tailored to families that had a baby in a NICU. And if you don't know what the NICU is, it's the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

So, if you think of an ICU, for an adult, well for a baby, is called a niku.

So, um If families had a baby in the NICU and if families experienced complications before or after giving birth, that's when our services kick in. And yesterday we had a NICU graduate prom.

So, families that had babies in their NICU, they, you know, they come out, the baby's dressing so cute, and then they take pictures, and you know, they actually take pictures holding or close to the picture that their parents took when they were first born.

So, we like to create memories.

So, can you imagine a baby that may have tubes and the baby was small and tiny, and then that child. That baby is now growing up and is like, it's like a before and after shot, you know?

So I love that part about it. And everybody just came out and had a great time. And that's dynamic. See, a lot of people don't, you know, it's kind of hard to relate to things that you have never experienced. You know, so I take my heart off because I have never experienced it, but I've seen some of the tail signs about that.

I've seen some things, and I know some people that went through some things like that. And I don't, I'd be at a place, I don't know what to say to them. I don't even know how to comfort them. Yeah. You know?

Yeah. See, so your ministry coming in, just being a helper, just a shoulder to lean on and cry.

Sometimes they must just want to cry. And it's difficult. It's a difficult thing.

So I take my hat off to you because everybody there yesterday, they was having fun running around. Oh, man, them kids are running around. Boy, I think it's good. It was good. Food was good.

It was dynamic. We was over there at the Village Inn.

So shout out the Village Inn. We had decorations. Shout out to the One Love Strong board. Came together and, you know, we all, you know, helped out, donated, put things together, decorated. You know, Markeisha Burns, she definitely put the event on.

And, you know, Salia Rice from Pop Balloon Decorate. She did the blooms for us. I mean, we just had a wonderful strong foundation about it, about it. Yeah, and you know, I have that lived experience.

So, you know, I feel like that's what makes our organization so impactful. Like, we really try to be strategic about what we're doing, you know, intentional about what we're doing because we have lived experiences. You know, I had my baby, her name is Love.

So, you know, that's where One Love Strong came from. And she was one pound nine ounces.

So if you can, you know, kind of put together one pound, nine ounce baby, her name is Love. And, you know, I'm big about, you know, strong foundations.

So that's where that came from. Her dad is from Jamaica.

So, you know, that's where we have our red, yellow, and green colors. And you know, like I said, we're just all about spreading love, of course. Teaching families, educating them, advocating for them because sometimes we have to advocate for them, and providing special services.

So we have a food pantry. We have a curbside food pantry.

So families can call us and we just bring everything out. And we also have a mobile pantry where we set up in different places. Just what, two, what was it? Last week, we donated 126 bags of food. And we also have like, um Emergency diaper banks.

That's what I call it. You know, they're like little small chests in the areas, and they have like a few diapers that people can get in an emergency. And then, you know, we have like two programs where we have families, we contact them every month, and we do monthly care packages.

So that's what we do, you know, and I love it. I love it. I wish, you know, we had something like that for us. I'm pretty sure there's a lot of resources out there, but. You know Having a baby, sometimes you gotta get a little bit of extra.

Somebody gotta hold your hand a little bit. Um If anybody has ever experienced their child being sick, let's say, like, Dwayne, have you ever experienced your child having a fever? Oh, yeah. You know how that feels. You know, you feel helpless.

You know, you're, you know, sometimes you think the worst, let's be real.

Sometimes you think the worst. And, you know, sometimes you forget to pray. Let's be real. You know, in that moment, you're feeling those fears, all those emotions coming up. I remember I was at an all-night prayer meeting.

One of my kids. Jumped, jumped from one bed to the other bed and broke his arm.

So I had to leave prayer to go get him, take him to the hospital. And when I got there, I felt helpless. Yeah, there's nothing that I could do. Nothing. And I grabbed him, we took him to the hospital.

And the thing is, I mean, he was in so much pain. And I felt this pain, you know. But we got him there. They did what they did. And then we got him back home.

And then I left, went back to prayer meeting. And the thing is, it's just like, wow, you know, we don't know what to do in those situations. And we don't know how to comfort. That's why I say parenting is always. A learning inexperience.

It's always learning, learning, learning. It is. But the things that we see, that's why we have Jesus. Because everything rolls back to him. Right, exactly.

Jesus looked at us. Right. And the Bible says that he cried. He looked at us and he was like, you guys are like sheep without. A shepherd running all over the place.

Running here, there, whatever floats your boat. Wherever you are pushed, prompt to go, you go. Whatever you think, you believe, you believe. And you are pushed all over the place. And he said he looked at the people and he was just, he felt so he felt so full of compassion, empathy, sympathy for us.

And that's the same thing we feel for our children. We do. And you know, and I feel like that's why you need two parents. You know, let's go there. You need definitely needed two parents because, you know.

One parent may have a little bit more compassion. You know, like the one parent, like me, I'm sitting here like, you know, who cry, cry, oh, my baby, my baby, baby. The other parent, all right, you know, let's go to a word of prayer. You know, that's why it's so important for you know you to have that that village, that community, that that um you know, those people that around you. That pray for you or pray with you.

You know, I was looking, let me pull this up. I was looking. It's okay.

So, those who are on the Bible app, I can't remember what Bible app I have. They said that. They said that they have like a verse of the day. And the verse of the day actually comes up to. Proverbs 13, 20.

He that walketh with wise men shall be wise, but a companion of fools shall be destroyed. What I get from that, see. Um You know, I'm going to put it out there. Love had a severe. Asthma attack Thursday night.

Now we had the prom yesterday, right? I am sitting here panicking. This is the first time I've actually saw her have an asthma attack. I have, I know she has asthma.

Well, I know that she has those symptoms that cause asthma. And, you know, for her to, she was crying and coughing, crying and coughing, crying and coughing. She couldn't catch her breath. And I was like, wait a minute, she's having an asthma attack. You know, so you know, we have like a little nebulizer that's like a little thing that puts out a little mist and gives her her medication that way.

She calmed down. And you know, Leroy went inside the kitchen and he made his remedy. You know, he got his Jamaican herbs and stuff like that.

So, you know, he made some lemon with some ginger and honey. She took that, you know, and you know, she calmed down.

So I'm saying all this to say, I mean, you need those extra hands. Yeah. Now, My husband is very quiet, but I know what he was doing in that kitchen. He was not only preparing. Uh, you know what he was preparing, but I know he was talking to our God, I know he was because.

'Cause I am the one that was like panicking. Like, oh, what am I? You know, because love, when she doesn't want to take something, love has the strength of six men, ten men sometimes. You know, that girl got some strength.

So, you know, I know it takes that in a household. Yeah. You know, my husband, he's such a calm person, and I know he was what he was doing in there. Because she seemed like she just turned the corner quickly, you know. And I'm not gonna, I am not giving that to that medication.

I'm not even giving that to them herbs. Know my husband was in there praying. And I know that's what helped us that night. You know, now listen, the rest of the night, y'all was grumpy, tired, sleepy, you know, because she kept waking up, and every couple of hours I need to give her the nebulizer. But I'm saying, what I'm saying is, you know, it takes.

where you need people to pray for you. In the midst of what you're going through, that's called design, yeah, yeah, yeah. What I call it, it's standing in that gap because I'm panicking because I can't help my child. You know, what I was doing was depending on some medication, you know, and what my husband was doing, even though you know he has his herbs and things like that, he was dependent on our Heavenly Father. Amen.

So, standing in that gap is what people need. Hallelujah. And a lot of our families in our organization. They're going through so many different things.

So, One Love Strong Foundation stands in that gap. We are providing services, but you know, listen, but I'm giving them silent prayers. I don't know where they are. To me, sometimes it don't even matter where you are. I'm going to stand in that gap because I know as a parent, you feel helpless.

Yeah, you know, you're looking at your child in a glass, and sometimes you can't even touch them. We're here to provide those services for them. And at that prom last night, what I saw was nothing but appreciative people. They appreciated the services we have. And they appreciate that we have something where we celebrate in.

where their child has came from. Hallelujah. That's a beautiful thing. Yay! Hey, I do want to let the listeners know, too.

Ellen is an excellent person. uh and and and she's uh well well you know we we we all we all are fickle yeah you know i mean don't don't don't get me what i'm not what i'm not saying we all are fickle we got our fickle little ways however But far as a personality, like for me, for instance, I know me, right? And I was the kind of guy, even when I was growing up, I loved. Helping the underdog. I was the guy that would beat up the bully that was bullying on the out.

That was me. I mean, I'll put his head in the mud and do all that stuff. But I was the guy that would reroot for the underdog. Right. See, so we all have these good qualities in us, but these good qualities, when we meet Christ, now they are turned for his sake and for his kingdom and for his likeness.

See, so that's that's the outcome. But but yeah, you are an all-around good person that has a good heart and that is that is not it takes one to know one, my brother. Yeah, yeah, well, I appreciate that. And that's what that word, look, that's what that word to me means. That king loves him.

Proverbs 13:20, it takes one to know one. I want y'all to read that verse. And remember, I said it: it takes one to know one. Amen. And you know what a fool is.

Everybody knows what a fool is. Come on, y'all. Y'all can't be misled by that. Hey, I do want to say, too, we have a short show today. We got a Wake Fars game coming up at 6 o'clock.

We're going to end our show a little early today, but you're more than welcome to talk. Call in, chime in, and We also got some Wake Fire's tickets. I got some Wake Fire's tickets I want to give away. This is for next series. This is for next the 14th, I believe.

Man, and who I don't know who they are playing next week, but they are already prepping for that series. Oh, this is going to be a good game. Mississippi. This is going to be Wake Fire's against Ole Miss. And it's going to be a great game.

I got two tickets.

So we get to go to break.

So whoever calls, you get these tickets: 336-896-1340. And we shall be right back on Bridging the Gap. The weapon pulled. The kingdom in the city. Speaking life into the youth, can you feel me?

We're bridging the gap, yeah. We're bridging the gap, yeah. We're bridging the gap, yeah. We're bridging the gap, yeah. We're bridging the gap, you show?

And of course We are part of the Light FM. Light FM. Truth Network. Truth Network. Y'all, so we're excited.

You know, we got a little, we're a little hyped today because I think. I'm always hyped. No, no, I should come at you like you came at me. You are too loud today. Oh, am I loud today?

No, I'm just picking up. Yeah, you're louder than normal. But you know, you should be. You did a great work yesterday. I was really proud to know you as a friend, what you're doing, because I looked around at the faces.

Everybody there was happy and they all was suited up and booted up and you know, looking good. They look good. Kids was just running around, giving Ellen all kind of hugs. Oh, yeah. And that's what it's about.

That's what it's about. See, 'cause me myself. At the end of the day, only thing that we do for Christ is going to last. We hear that as a facade. Right.

But man, that's so true. It is only what we do for Christ, in the heart posture of Him, you know. I'm sorry. Yeah, yesterday. No, you're fine.

You're fine. Yesterday was, it was, it was really, really nice. And like I said, you know, the kids, they were, they were so cute, just running around. Did you see the little baby in the bow tie? The little baby in the burgundy outfit.

He had a burgundy bow tie. Yeah, he was about, what, four weeks old in a bow tie.

So, you know, that's what it's all about. You know, that's why we do what we do. We bring awareness. Um, people don't know September is NICU Awareness Month.

So we're bringing awareness to the NICU, but last night we celebrated those NICU graduates. You know, we had a ball, the food was delicious. What did you think about that chicken wings? Yeah, it was great. It was awesome.

I mean, you know. I was hanging out with my little brother yesterday.

So, you know, I didn't stay too long. But, you know, the food was excellent, the crowd, the setting. Yeah. And I came through the back way. And I was like, y'all know where Ellen?

I said, I said, is it an event in there? She said, no. I said, well, do you know Ellen? She said, everybody knows Ellen. And she said, one of them, one of the slimy.

Was she real slim that was laying on? She said, you need to go around this way, go this way. And then you find Ellen over there. Yeah, shout out to Village Inn. We do a lot of events out there at the Village Inn.

We also are doing things over there at like right behind the studio. Right here on, what is this, North Point Boulevard?

So we're going to be at Pastor Teal's Center November the 17th.

Okay.

Yeah, so we're going to be there. November the 17th is.

So, November is prematurity awareness month.

Now, I know you guys are going to say, hey, man, it's something always every month. Yes, it is. It is. We need to bring awareness.

Well, you know, November is prematurity awareness month.

So, November the 17th, we will be having food. Live entertainment. We will also have a selling auction. The reason why we're doing this is because, listen, it's a fundraiser. The things that we do are specifically for these families, and we need to raise funds.

So, November the 17th at SEG Junior Conference Center. We will have the prematurity awareness dinner. And selling auction.

So, if y'all want to find out how to get in contact with me, you can go on oneelovestrong.org, spill all the words out, one love. Strong.org, and that's how you find out what we're doing. We do a community baby shower. That's where anyone who's pregnant. Anyone who is pregnant, you can come and find our resources in the area and also get free gifts for you and your baby.

Amen. So we, you know. This is what we're talking about. She's about it, about it, y'all.

Well, I have, like I said, I have lived experiences. And, you know, I feel like when you. You should write a book, sis. You should write a book. I told you I'm writing one.

Okay.

Yeah, I'm writing one. But, you know, these lived experiences, what do you do with these lived experiences? You don't just keep them to yourself.

Well, this is one thing I always tell people. The book of Acts is still being written. We are still in the Acts of the Holy Ghost, the Acts of the Apostles. I like to call it the Acts of the Holy Spirit, though, because He's working in us and through us.

So, we're still living in that setting.

So, the book of Acts is still being written.

So, you need to write your book well.

Now that's the heaven version, but then on the earthly side of the things, yeah, people need to know your story because your story is what helped bring people out. Yeah. I have shared my testimony with so many people, and I have seen. Seeing my testimony move people's lives. Today, I get a text every often from a friend of mine.

My buddy, this is one of my dudes. He done moved off grid. I mean, he's wealthy now. He invited me to come out there, and you know, I'm like, nah, I'm good. You know what I mean?

He's wealthy. He got acres and acres of land. Him, his wife, family, they live off the grid. They're not connected. The only thing that they're connected to is the Wi-Fi, and they use that for their phones and all that stuff.

Other than that, his water, his electric, everything is off the grid. He called, he sent me texts to be like, man, I baptized a 96-year-old woman today.

So he's still active in ministry. And that encourages me. Like my dad, my dad's testimony. I went with my dad's testimony and he has a book out. And this is why I say write your book because he had listen.

I'm gonna give you a quick. This is the life of my dad. I'm a product of this. This, you know. The best way to say it is like, okay, just say it.

Yeah. His mother. My grandmother Stabbed my grandfather to death right in front of him. and then gave him the knife. and then told him to tell the police that he did it.

You know, listeners, let me paraphrase that. Let me let me like, you need to emphasize that.

So. Your dad's mother Stabbed. Your dad's father. With a knife. And then His mother told You're dead.

to say I did it. Yep. Wow. Yeah, and he went to jail for it. What, your dad?

Yep. Yeah, and then you know, of course they figured it out. They, you know, they did their work and the investigation. Wow. But you see, I'm a product of that lifestyle.

That's the lifestyle that I came from. See, so you know, that's why your testimony is so important to share with others. Because there are people that are found in some terrible situations. Rhyme. You know, and they don't know how to overcome.

Well, somebody did overcome some craziness. Yeah. You know, this is why I say this, this is why I'm just so firm a believer in scripture. It's because, first of all, let's understand something, people. The Bible ain't nothing nice.

And there's no one. The apostles, the the the the disciples, 'cause I hear all people, all white man witness, oh they changed it. Who want to follow that book? Why would somebody change that book to what it is right now? Them dudes, them apostles was running for their lives, sharing a word from God.

Listen, I was doing a little deep dive on that prophet Jeremiah. Don't get me started with that. And when I tell you, Jeremiah. Y'all look it up. Like, you know, I'm not going to sit here and tell you the prophet Jeremiah or something else, you know, just kept enduring things and.

Wow, when I tell you, still going back in it, still dealing with it. You know, he was he was pretty much kidnapped. And take it to another country that he was saying, I don't want to go. I ain't going there. God don't want us there.

He was trying to tell the people that God did not want us back in Egypt. Why? you want Go back when he delivered you from there and they took him back to Egypt. And this man still he went to jail. One of the kings, or one of the, one of the, not the kings, one of the people tried to throw him in mud.

And he actually had to stay in that mud and die. He was left for dead. And he still survived that. And what did he do?

Now, some people probably would have threw in the towel.

Some people probably would have been like, you know what? I ain't dealing with y'all no more. Nah, he still told the people what God wanted them to hear. And those people just thought he was crazy. They thought that man was crazy.

They said he was walking around like a madman. He used to walk around and rip his clothes.

Now, but that's where he was. That's how much he, well, that was the dedication that he showed. That was a dedication. That was a, I mean, hey. He walked around naked.

People call him crazy. You know what? And to me, this is why. When people say stuff like they translate it, they're trying to make you, who want to follow this? Who want Jeremiah was called the weeping prophet?

Who wants to follow this? Who wants to follow the life of Apostle Paul? This man was beat, tortured. Who wants to follow the life of Peter? Hung upside down.

He beat the devil. I mean, these people went through craziness in the flesh. Who wants to go through that? And you're telling me you wrote a book so I can be a slave to that? You lost your mind.

That just shows me how you need Christ just to even understand scripture. And if you look at it, you know, if, okay, let's say, let's say, let's kind of get that. You know, they said what? The council of this book and they left a lot of things out.

Now, listen, we do know there are more books of the Bible. We do know that. We do know that. Okay.

What I'm saying is, when you feel like this council wanted to take the The Bible, take words out so people can remain slaves. Think about it. If they wanted people to remain slaves, why was Exodus in the book then? Why was Exodus in the book? Yeah, people have, they have a worldly concept of scriptures and they twist it to fit whatever in their mindset.

Because scripture goes against everything that mankind loves. It goes against every detail of it. It does. It really does. And I don't see that.

Now, my version on that, yeah, well, even the Bible says that if they was to write all the miracles that Jesus did, it would be enough, it wouldn't be enough books to fill it.

So just by that being said like that, it tells me that this also, there's so many more stories that we ain't never heard that's out there about Christ and his life. Just think about, you know, from, you know, the last book in the Old Testament to the New Testament, that was how many years they said they predicted was almost 400 years of not. Hearing from anyone that was called the quiet time, and then going on in the quiet time. And then it came on with a new doctrine. Right.

Because Paul said, This is completely new. Yeah, Paul said, the gospel that I received, this is not what you guys had all this time. See, so it came in.

So now you got to re those that lived that age, now they have to redo their mindset on this gospel. But it came in with miracles and wonders the same way the Old Testament went out. He was showing his power so that you could understand it more. Listen, this stuff is real, people. This is not a joke.

It's not a fairy tale. But what we're saying today is: hey, get in it. Learn it for yourself. Because I'm telling you, if you, y'all, if y'all were really to research, research what these, what these, what these, because it's a story. It's a, it's what they call it, the love story.

From the beginning to the end.

So if you look into it and, you know, a lot of lot of it you may say hey I don't understand why they why they put you know this person begat this person this person hey that's your genealogy right there there's your genealogy you know if you're saying um why why is this part in the Bible why is it read it I'm just just read it read I'm doing a study now personal study because there's some things in the scripture that I want to be enlightened in this life. I want to be enlightened because the Bible says afterlife we'll know everything as he knows. I want to be enlightened in this life.

So I'm putting some work in for that purpose. First of all, the Bible says in the New Testament and the Old Testament.

So to me, that's a double stamp. It's repeated twice because everything that Jesus said was something from the Old Testament. But it was something that he said. That's written in both of them. He said, the volume of this book is written about me.

So everything that's in this book is about me. Everything.

Okay, so now we got to correlate all of this stuff because Judas, I like doing word studies. In all scripture, everybody's a name. Especially in the Old Testament. All of their names had significant meaning on their character. The person that they are and the person that they will become, it had unique emphasis on their character.

Judas is the only name that I could not figure out because Judas means praise.

So I'm like, wow.

So, how can this evilness or this? Yeah, I didn't even know that. Yeah, how can this evenness correlate with praise? Because the Bible is very specific on how it represents stuff. And that's the wisdom in the mind of God.

That's why I said that. I didn't even know. That yeah, yeah, it's because it gets up. I put up a scripture the other day, and I was hoping people read it. You know, it's that word.

I know you read it, and I know you knew it. Look, our ways are not God's ways, you know, and thank God for that. I'm thanking God for that. Our ways are not his ways. And I'm going to say this: my love is not God's love.

God has a love that I, I'm going to tell you, we were just talking about, you know, my child having, you know, an asthma attack. And, you know, I give up my child as, listen, God's love is not my love.

So stop saying that I want to have, you, you, you know, you need to know what you're saying. Yeah. Because God's love and God's ways are not our ways. Isn't that deep shit? This not now, this is profound to me, what you just said.

On the way over here, when I was driving over here. The scripture came to my mind. And I'm like, wow. Cause the scripture says when Jesus was going through all of this that he was going through, the scripture says, and it pleased God for him to go through that. Right.

And it pleased the father for the son to go through that. Right. So I'm not thinking, like, wow. I don't know if I could He's become with my son going through, you know. Because it's not beyond us, it is, and but you know, but that's where you know when we, when a lot of people get into debates and things like that, I really want people to understand: stop thinking with your mind.

Well, you know, think with your mind, but stop thinking in this worldly thinking. Let the mind of Christ be your God. Let arm yourself with the spirit of God so that your mind will now start thinking spiritual things, right? The spiritual understandings versus the worldly, right? Lifeless understandings.

Because I'm telling you, again, I'm going to say it, our ways are not his ways. And I'm so glad because my ways, I still got that get back. You know, I'm going to get my get mine back. You know, I still got that in me and I'm working on that. You know, but listen, hey, you know, you know how we do.

You know what I'm saying?

So I'm glad our ways are not. I don't get mad, I get even. Yeah. So, you know, God, just imagine if God was. Had that get back.

You know, every time I done something wrong, you know, he's gonna get me back. 'Cause some people be like, you know, I'm punished. No, you're not punished. You're definitely not punished. That's just your ways.

That's your consequence of what you're doing. But yeah, y'all have to realize that our ways are not his ways. That's another thing. Go ahead, I'm saying. Yeah, that's a whole, that's a whole nother.

Listen, we definitely need to do this topic another time because, you know, even when we talk about how we operate in a building on the first day of the week, the second day, whatever, whatever day of the week you have worship service, that our ways is not his ways. You cannot pay God.

Okay.

He does not need your money. You know, what are you doing with that money? When you're singing songs, are you singing songs to him or are you singing songs to soothe yourself?

Okay.

Are you singing?

Now, we do know we need to encourage each other. Yes. But when you're worshiping God, Does God need all that other stuff? No Because our ways are not his ways. I don't think it matters to him.

You know, people running across the room and cutting the flip. I think some of that stuff is hilarious to him. Because the spirit of God, you know, I just don't see the spirit of God operating how some of these and we see that in the book of Revelation. The book of Revelation said that they ended up having church and Jesus at the door knocking to get in. They're having church without him.

He's on the outside. And there he is right there. And what are you doing? Do you really, if you're really operating in the spirit, you would know where he is. But what he says, he said he's not going to know.

He doesn't know you. He'll say that he will spit you out. He will spit you out because you're playing around. Again, y'all, I don't know if y'all don't get anything, if you don't get nothing out of what we're saying today. Remember this: our ways are not his ways.

You know, what satisfies us, you know, some people got to have. Versace.

Some people got to have, some people got to have a Nike. Our ways are not his ways. That stuff does not matter to him. You know, and that stuff is while we're here on earth. I'm not saying that, you know, you got to walk around like a, you know, like you, you ain't got nothing.

I ain't saying that. But I'm saying, does that really matter to him? What matters to him is what are you doing to expand and to encourage and to bring souls? Could you give us that statistic that you told me that we got on this show? You know, well, you know, I like to go to the boundary group and get all this.

They get all kinds of statistics from that. But one of them that's on there, they ask worldwide pastors, and this is an average. This is an average of answered questions or the answered question of what do you feel church success is? And number one, Number one, they said was uh church attendance.

Social attendance was number one. Number two. was uh donations given. For the love of money. Yep, donations are given.

Number three was. programs that they offer. Do we offer enough programs for the people?

Now, this is what they consider church success. Do they offer enough programs? Program. Programs within the church house for the people. And the other one was number four was staff positions.

When you see your staff growing, you know that you're growing. These are they this is what they call You talking about people walking around with the things on the head and the the little mark the um you know, the garments and all the the jewelry and stuff. That yeah. Number five number five was square footage. Number five was square footage.

I think number seven, eight came in souls being saved. You said number, what number was square footage? Five. How big is your facility? That is, that is, that's how they was measuring church success.

So listen, we got another giveaway, right? Yes, yes, yes. Can we make that next giveaway? What did you hear that was wrong? What are they missing?

What one thing? Because I could think of a lot, but just give us one thing. Just give me one thing that's missing from that list of church success. You give me one thing, and you will win you a pair of Carolina Classic Fair tickets. Carolina Classic Fair tickets.

Yes, indeed. And you got to tell us one thing that was missing. Just give us one thing that was missing from that list. And this is for October 4th. Through 13th, these tickets I get two tickets, one pair for Carolina Classic Fear tickets.

The number here is 336-896-1340. You got to give me something now. What's missing from that list of church success? Or what you think should be on that list of church success? Right.

Amen. Somebody say new. The definition of new is not existing before. We like new things.

Some things may appear new, but are not. Body of Christ, be encouraged, honey.

Sometimes we may have guilty feelings about the challenges that go on in our lives. Victoriously, we must realize that we are new and improved.

So, sisters and brothers, let us continue to live a new and improved life, accompanied with 2 Corinthians 5:17 and a keepsake of Philippians 3:13. We are new. improved because we have forgotten the past, the old, and the sad. This is Elder Peculia La Goretha Sprinkle with your words of inspiration. God bless you, new people.

This is WPOL 278 PM Winston Sailor and W273DH High Point.

So set the For the kingdom in the city, speaking life into the youth, can you feel me? We're bridging again, we're bridging the gap, yeah. Man of them know that God goes first. All right, we are back and we have a Collar. How you doing, Collar?

I'm fine. How are you? I'm doing fine. I heard you wanted them to wait for us, Tinky. No, she wanted the Classic.

Oh, I'm sorry, the Carolina Classic. Come on, somebody.

So, listen, okay, now you got to tell me what you're going to eat. I know you got a plan, because everybody has a plan when they go to the fair. What are you going to eat? I like those smoked sausages with all the onions on them.

Okay, okay. Anything else? Oh, probably a good old candy apple. Oh, yeah, definitely. Definitely, definitely.

So you must have said something because Minister Candy was like, you want to go on air? You must have said something heap. Oh, wow.

So what was your answer? But hold on, missing on that list. Let me remind people before you say that, okay?

So if y'all are just tuning in, we actually was talking about a survey that was sent out to a lot of pastors. And the survey was, how do you measure church success? And they gave about six or seven reasons why, how they measure church success. And we said there's something missing.

So Carla, what do you feel like is missing? Also It was missing was winning souls for Christ and maturing disciples. What? Can you see that one? more time.

Win it so quiet. and my children Disciples. That should be at the top of the discipline. That should be at the top. Jesus didn't come to none of that top five.

Listen.

Well, we appreciate you. And we hope you enjoy.

Well, I know you're going to enjoy the state fair, so you have a ball. And thanks for calling and being a listener for listening to Prisoner God. Thank you.

Well, you're more than welcome, and I'd like to shout out my pastor.

Okay.

Pastor James E. Cook at Thanksgiving Missionary Baptist Church.

Okay.

Come on, somebody.

Thank you so much. Amen. You're welcome. You have anything else you'd like to share? You feel free to come to St.

Tim's Missionary Baptist Church. Our services start at 9:30. Sunday school starts at 8:30. See, she about that, sharing that gospel. Come on now, so much.

She knows what time the services are.

Some people don't even know what time it's. They have service in the morning. Thank you so much. Call us anytime. Call us anytime.

All right. Thank you.

Thank you.

I enjoyed y'all. Thank you.

Yeah, she knows what time services are.

So that's always good. Because I'm telling you, some people don't even know what time their services are. They don't even know if they have a youth meeting. They don't know nothing. Tell the truth and shame the devil.

We got down in the house. He popped up and yelled. What's going on? I'm pretty sure everybody figured out with that deep voice that came in like that. He's cooked you to D is.

Oh, got here Little Layton supporting baby girl with Sam Tar Heels cheerleading. Come on now. You know, she loves to see daddy out there clapping and watching the chill.

So, after they got through, had to come to see my other family here at Bridging the Gap. Bridging the Gap. We are bridging the gap.

So, you know, Daryl, I know you were listening because I saw you on Facebook Live, you know, slide on up in there, you know.

So, listen, we are talking about a lot today.

Okay.

But, you know, it all ties into what we're going back to the Bible, right? Right, right, right.

So, I gave a scripture. I gave a few of them actually. I'm on the road with the scripture today, ain't I?

Okay.

So, one of them is Isaiah 55:8 through 9. I actually put it on social media and I ain't even tell people what it said. I just said, read it. Just read it. And, you know, if they were listening today, they'll know I gave them a little synopsis of it.

You know, so I'm going to read it for y'all. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. It's not what Minister Candy said, it's not what Ellen said, it's not what Daryl said. It's the Lord said that, okay? He said that.

So he said, my ways. Not your ways. God said that.

So, what we're trying to get people to realize or people to do is know that. Hey, going back to the Bible. If you have read the Bible, you know, I'm going to give you a round of applause.

Now I'm challenging you to go back. Go back and dig into Dig into this word, but approach it and read it through your spirit. What does that look like, Minister Kennedy? What does that look like to you? If somebody was to, you know, we know people read, you know, the Bible is the most duplicated.

book in the world. Hey, it's free.

Some people sell it, you know, but it's free. Amen. It is the most duplicated book in the world.

So We're saying that you need to go back and read it. Um, you know. with your spirit. What does that look like to you, Minister Kennedy?

Well, first of all, you have to understand what our eyes You know. We see through our eyes. Right. And when we read the scripture, Well, the scripture says that the eyes are the doorway. to the soul.

See, so when we read the scriptures, when we literally read the scriptures, it actually. is attaching to us. We don't see that, we don't see or even understand, but it's getting inside of us. The first book I ever read was Revelation, Book of Revelation. And ever since I've read that, and I've read that like three times straight.

I read it like a novel. But I understood it, right? But I didn't start walking with the Lord right away, but I read that book. And that was always, it was in me. See, so every time Things would happen.

I would go back to the r to what I read.

Okay.

And it just got it just started getting real to me. The word. came alive by reading. Right. It wasn't.

It is the living word. It wasn't a word. Even though my dad used to do, he was hard with me on the gospel. My mom raised me up in the church. I went to church.

None of that stuff really had an effect. I believe that they were always present. Don't hear what I'm not saying. But when I started reading for myself, it attached to me. And then I started seeing how real he is.

I'm serious, man. Listen.

I remember in my drug confessor department, me seeking God. Asking God to deliver me from, because I was what you would call an active drug addict. I went to work every day, paid my bills, you know what I mean? But I was flying around, you know what I mean?

So, so I say all that to say the word is what changed me. And that came alive in me, and it's all because of reading. But God told me, and I don't think I would have heard him if I didn't know his word. Because I was like, Lord, take these drugs away from me. Not the way I wanted it to come.

And it's not how some people will say that God works. I'm like, Lord, deliver me from this. And the thought that came to me, which was in mind. You want me to remove this from you, but you continue to lie on this piece of paper. That's what came to me.

And that paper that I was lying on, it was an unemployment check from Illinois. $1,900, $1,800, every two weeks. That was good money back in the 80s. Real good money. And I was working.

So I was lying on this piece of paper. God dealt with me with that until I stopped lying on that piece of paper. God is real. That's all I can. All I can say is, God is real.

And I can't explain how He works in your life, this person's like, but I do know the fundamental is reading. Right. Right. And you know, the reason why, you know, I know, and the reason why I'm so big about saying it is the living word. Is because it lives in us.

You know, I I can say so I can I can tell you how many times I've heard a prophet or or apostle say what the word was to them. You know, one of them said, you know, it was like, it was like a, yes, it was like fire, yes, right. Shot up in their bones.

So when I say the living word, I'm saying to the listeners, to me, the living word means to me, I don't know why. I put that scripture and just told people to read it. I don't know why. funny how we talking about it now. I'm not making this up.

Minister Candy, you Didn't even know why I put that scripture up. You didn't, we didn't even talk about it. I read it, though. We didn't even talk about it, you know. But I feel like it's living because it applies to me.

When the word applies to you and you use it and you operate in the spirit, it comes back to you. Because he said the word doesn't come back to you. His word. Let me say it. His word will not return void.

His word. Okay.

So I'm not talking about Ellen. I'm talking about his word returns to me and it returns to me every single day. When I say every single day, it may be something that I'm doing that I'm not supposed to be doing. His word comes back to me. That's Bible.

You know, that's what I'm saying about living and operating in the spirit. We can read the word. We can read the word. You know how people say you hear, but you're not listening. You can read the word, but you're not engaging in the word.

You hear me, but you ain't listening. You hear me, but you ain't listening. Right. So this is the living word. If you are engaged with the word, that means that you are changing every single day.

You know, we talk about killing off that old, that dead man every day. It's like taking your clothes off and putting something new on every single day. And we ain't talking about them Nikes. No, no, we ain't talking about them Nikes, man. We're talking about, we talking about spiritual wearing that spiritual garment.

That's right. You know, when you, and Daryl, can you, can you say that as well? Or how do you feel like when you, when I say the living word, what does that mean to you? I mean, I agree with what both of you are saying because when you start reading the Bible and you start reading God's word, you make sure that you. It is like it changes how you think about things.

It changes how you view things. It changes how you. Just see things indifferently. Like for me personally, like Pastor said, you know, I went to church, I go to church, all that good stuff. Did it all young?

Choir the whole nine yards. You were in the choir, yes. I was in the choir. I lip sing like I was middle of the million. What did you sing?

Yeah, yeah, you know, I sung the songs and everything, did all that stuff, but you know, I was not a singer, I'm a dancer, but I was not a singer.

So, you know, I followed my calling that God gave me. But what I'm saying is. That With all that, when I picked up the Bible, And the first book I read was Romans. And I was just like fascinated.

So I read one verse a day and then one verse became three, three became five, five became ten.

Now I'm reading a chapter in the Old Testament, a chapter in the New Testament every day, plus a Bible plan, plus other stuff. You just want more. And when you want more, it's like start reading. You start seeing like a self-evaluation check.

Okay, scripture is telling me this, so I need to do that. And then too, the Holy Spirit will start, you know, hey, remember, you know why you read this verse? Remember you did X, Y, Z.

So it's like it's cleansing you out, which is a great thing because he says, what? Study the word to show that self-approval.

So you're showing God, hey, I'm getting better. I'm trying to show approval to you.

So I'm reading your word because you cannot read the Bible every day and don't change. No way. No way. That's one thing to me that is not possible. You cannot read the word of God every day and don't change.

You're going to change. And if you want to change, do just what he just said. If you want to change your life, start reading the Bible. You're going to have to because the Holy Spirit is going to get, it's going to start lighting up. And that's what happened.

To me, I started learning and then I started highlighting. Then I go back and I read something, then I missed something, and I'm like, wow, I didn't know that. And you know, then you just want to read again. Then you want to start doing more research outside. You want to learn more about things.

It's going to then you just like your eyes open to this world. And you see things that you didn't see before.

So, you know, the word of God is very. Very, very important. And to be honest with you guys, that's like the only book I read because it makes me grow every day. And you know, I'm like that too, Daryl. And I believe in, like, I said, I was sharing a little bit about my dad's testimony.

See, so there's some things that I read, right? But I don't go out chasing all of this stuff. I don't go out chasing all these, you know. And I'm not saying that I'm against it. Right.

But what I am saying is that there is no high. There's nothing higher than the word of God, than the Bible. See, so I'd rather read that than read so-and-so's story or this or the five steps to this or this, this. You know, I would rather just read the Bible.

Now, that's how I've been living my life for the longest. I do know that you can come to a place, and this is, don't hear what I'm not saying, listeners. But I do know that you can come to a place in your life, in the flesh, where you are unmovable in Christ. The Bible says here to write all of this stuff on your heart. This is why I have a problem with some of the stuff people say, you know, the law, the commandments, and all that stuff.

He said, I write all that stuff on your heart. That's where he wants that stuff on us, in us, not just something that we obey to do, something that we are made to do. It's something that we want to do. Man, this word is great to me, man. Yeah.

And in bad situations, when situations is going crazy in my life. The other day, man, I was just like, something crazy was going on. Feeling bad. I was like. I love you, Lord.

I don't know where that came from, but I know where it came from. You know what I'm saying?

Right, I catch myself doing that too. Like, something just happened to you, like, I'll be like, man, God is good. Thank you, Jesus. You know what? I love you.

You may got my nerves. I'm just going to walk away and say, I love you. And I catch myself doing that too. And it's the growth, it's the maturity because the word is instilled in you. Word comes flesh.

And that's, like you said, minister, that's that's where we have to draw the line. Don't just be reading and say, because your pastor said, read this book.

Okay, I'm going to read this, close it, and go do what I want to do. No, read it. And those times when you're by yourself, those are the times you need to read when it's just you and God by yourself. You know what I'm saying?

Not when there's a whole bunch of people to approve somebody. Nah, read it when you're alone. Read it when you're by yourself. For you can hear his voice and you can seek his face. And I'm telling you, it's a life-changing encounter.

Hey, check this out. I'm going to just give you this right here. This is 1 Peter.

Well, excuse me, this is 2 Peter, 1st chapter. And, you know, like I said, read the whole book, read the whole chapter. But I just, I love, and I'm going to paraphrase through the book, but the 10th chapter said, therefore, brother, strive to make your calling an electure. You see, there's a lot of people that are pursuing a life, but they're not living a life. He said, make your calling an electure.

He said, be sure. That you're doing what you need to do. But then I love 12. And read this for yourself, people. This is 2 Peter, 2 Peter chapter 1.

And you know, you can read that whole book, man. That's some deep stuff. But 12, therefore, I will always remind you of these things, even though you know them are established in the truth that you have now had. Listen, if it ain't about Christ, it is meaningless. Yes, we are.

For business. It's meaningless.

Now, we see it as important, and God is concerned about us living in this world. And we pointed out last week how he's considerate about, you know, he wants us to take care of the needs of others. Right. So that they can hear him. Right.

Because when you're stuck in a bad situation, you need someone to, you know, say, hey, listen, listen, I came through this. Listen, listen, I went through a child premature, premature birth. I went through the death of a loved one. I went through this. I went through this.

You can overcome. Yes, right. See, so he's telling us to do those things, but he said, make your calling. It's a personal thing. Make your calling an electric.

Man, don't fall short of this, because this is the only thing that's really gonna matter at the end of the day. It ain't gonna matter how many people you fed at the wilderness shop or whatever, you know, how many people. You put shoes on their feet. What's gonna matter is what you did for Christ and how you learned and how you took him with you wherever you went. Right.

It's some real stuff, man. Right. You know what? Listen, the first curse, and I learned this from studying. The very first curse to man.

was death. The very last curse to man is Death. You know what I'm saying?

He beat the natural death. He wants us to beat the spiritual death as well. But look, but it was not in our will. It was not, it was not, excuse me, it was not in God's will for us to die. No, no, no, it was not in His will.

That's what people got to understand. It was about ourselves, yeah, right. Yeah, we did it through ourselves.

So He made, He gave us the plan, He gave us the plan. And this is what I love about the apostles, right? All the apostles. They conquered death in the flesh. While they were living, they didn't care about death.

That's why they were able to preach this gospel and get beat up and get stoned, and people after them trying to kill them. They was able to preach this because they wasn't afraid of death. That's all you got for me? Mm-hmm. The spiritual death is worse than this earthly death.

And people fail to understand that, you know, that spiritual death is, there ain't no coming back for that. That ain't nothing. I mean, excuse me, this first death ain't nothing, but that spiritual death is something totally different. And God said, I wish no man. Oh, wait, we passed out, but he said, Mate.

Scripture says, I wish no man perished, but all have eternal life. Repent, repent, repent, repent. Hey, we shall be back on pitching the cap. The weapons For the kingdom in the city. Speaking life into the youth, can you feel me?

The end of my streets to the church. None of them know that God goes first. We are back on Bridging the Gap. Listen, you guys, we said that it was going to be a, you know, it was going to be a shorter show today, you know. But powerful.

Yes, very powerful. Very powerful.

So, you know, we want to thank all of our listeners to listening in today. We had two callers to call in, and, you know, we had some winners.

So, what somebody want Wait Forrest tickets for Old Miss next week. Wait for us versus O Miss next week. And the Carolina Classic is coming. And, you know, they want some. Carolina Classic tickets.

Somebody else won Carolina Classic tickets. And you know, this Daryl came in and you know, is enlightening us with his voice.

So. Today, we talked about going back to the Bible. You know, I think we're just going to stay on that. You know, well, we standing on that. We're going back to the Bible.

We talk about a lot of different principles. Today, we just talked about, hey, you know. You need to read. You need to read. Sometimes we put verses up and we, you know, we don't, you know, tell you what it's about because we want you to read it.

You know, we talked about, hey, the word is the living word. It is the living word. It's living in all of us. You know, if you accept it, it's definitely living in all of us. And, you know, how we need to.

Read the word. Um not just with your eyes. but with your spirit. you know dive into it Breathe it. Be it.

Because listen, if you really want to, you know, you really want to think about it, like, we're actually. Yeah. the word walking around if you are true to it You know, if you're operating in the Spirit, you are the Word walking around. And you can help others. by you know um bringing them to Christ and saving souls.

That is major. 'Cause we did find out, hey, through uh through what what was the website again? It was uh oh, you're talking about the statist uh up was Biders uh um I'm gonna put that in the middle. It was like a survey or something like that. Thing.

I'll send you the information.

Okay, yeah.

So it was a survey that we found out.

Well, it's a website. Oh, it's a website. That's all they do is. Take data, yeah.

Okay, I mean, data for everything, for everything, okay. And you know, one of the questions was: you know, what, how did the pastor? Major sus this and You know, um, it wasn't even in the top seven. Saving Souls. Saving Souls was not in the top seven.

That's crazy. Yeah, that is crazy. But you know. We, you know, we love you guys at Bridging the Gap. We, we love y'all here at the light radio station.

We love y'all at Truth Network.

So, you know, I definitely want to give a shout out to my family that is listening, my family that's not listening, my family that, you know, I love y'all so much. Love, I love you, mommy, daddy, or my mom. She offered me a cupcake yesterday, too. Libra, I love you so much. Oh, she did.

She tried to give you a cupcake with no. She leaked the ice and all. Hey, but that's love, though. You know what I'm saying?

She tried to give you a piece of what she got. Yeah, I didn't feel nothing but the love. But look, but she got to take the best part, right?

So, you know, thank y'all so much. And, you know, Daryl, you got anything you got to say? You want to? Man, just always want to give. Shout out and all glory to Jesus Christ for being the first of my life.

And let's just prepare for his return. No man knows an hour, no day, nor a time. And just one thing: family, friends, my loved ones. Thank for all those who have supported me through everything, through this year. Thank you just to everybody, man.

Just continue to pray for each other. Let's continue to keep. Those Shootings that happened in these schools this week in our prayers. I mean all over too. It wasn't just here.

Yeah. Yeah, it's a lot, you know, you know, the enemies attacking our schools. And, you know, one thing I just want to say this, I keep hearing where they took Jesus out of school. You can't take Jesus out of nothing. No, you can't.

So we need to stop that cliche.

Well, you take it. No, you cannot. You are the word. Right. You are the word.

That's right. You are the light. You are the light in the darkness. And then, too, you know, how you going to take something that God built, that Jesus built out of it?

So we need to stop saying that. And we need to not only pray over our students and our children, but be active involved. You know, I should not see, and no shots taken, but I shouldn't see a lot of grown-ups. at these extracurricular activities on weekends and then we can't get you into school. And that's a problem.

And that is a serious issue. And I'm an educator, and I've been in for 19 years. And I can say that that is an issue. That is a problem that needs to be fixed immediately.

So we need not only pray for our students and our children at school, but we need adults, men and women to step up, put personal issues aside, and let's come together because the enemy is like a Roman lion, seeking whom he could destroy and vibrate. But, you know, when you pray, when you fast, when you trust, when you believe. Excuse me, when you have hope and you forgive. All things are possible.

Well, that's pretty much it. Amen. And I just love the Lord people, and I can't express that enough. Uh, but I always like to give a shout out to Pastor Stu Epperson Jr., Pastor Mike Calbone, Truth Network family, right? You know, everybody.

needs somebody to help them do something. And there's a lot of people that do things in the unseen that affects the things on the scene. And I always say that, that's a part of my life because we need to realize that it's never, ever, and never will be all about you. I know some pastors and some people that I know. They think, you know, it's their ministry, it's their way, is their, no, no, you can't do nothing without your lay members.

You direct them. You know, now I like being under or with the kind of people that'll say, you know what? Let's get it done. Let's do it. And that's what I'm always after because.

You know, some pastors, they go through because their membership is not backing them. Mm. You know, it's always a questionnaire. And it's like sometimes you just got to follow the leading. And like what we was talking about today, the word.

If the word of God gets in you, the spirit of God, through the word of God, gets in you and starts working in your life, changing your mindset, changing your concepts. You'll start seeing things differently. You'll start seeing things the way Christ's seeing things. He don't look at things the same way as we do. And the more words you get in, the more words you get out.

So I just appreciate God for all that He's done in my life. Like I said, Bridging the Gap, Bridging the Gap used to be a TV show. Mm-hmm. In Minnesota, it was a TV show on TV Heaven. We called it all for one.

Well, it had it had a few names. We didn't change the name a couple times. But it's the same concept. We sat here and we just lift up Christ. Keep in mind, I've been in Christendom since the late 80s.

And I've been rolling with Christ. I'm not what somebody said, you're a Christian, aren't you? And I told him, I said, probably not the kind of Christian you think. Because I don't operate as Christendom or the mindset of Christendom. Because people ask you to be a Christian.

They want to put you in a box. Right. I'm not in that box.

Well, did you see that meme I put up about, you know, the preacher was telling everybody, you know, like, you need to follow Christ. Love Jesus. Love others like Jesus.

Okay, so everybody was happy. when he was saying that. But then when he said, repent of your sins, people got quiet. Like their faces, they looking like they was turning away. You know, because, you know, to me, Christian is not just a noun.

It's an action verb. You know, it's a word where you got stuff to do. It's not, well, okay, I read my Bible. No, man, it's, you got a lot to do. You know, people, they used to wear it as a badge of honor.

Let's understand something. In the book of Acts, when they called somebody a Christian, they wasn't being patting them on the back. No, not at all. It was them saying, we know. That you are a follower of this guy named Christ.

And it was more of a mockery. These guys are Christians. You know what I mean? See, so it wasn't the concept.

Now, I take that on because I am a follower of Christ. You know, and I take it on proudly. Mm-hmm. You know, but if you're not following Christ, then you ain't a Christian. Right.

But hey, I want to give you that name. The name of the research group, listen, is called the Burner. Bernard Group, B-A-R-N-A Group. And they do a lot of research, research all over the world about almost any topic that you could come up with. I get a lot of my information from that because they are a reliable source.

They're not for Christ, against Christ, they just do research. But it's a good place to go to get information and data. And like I said, everybody can't, I don't have time to do all that. You don't have time to do all that.

So it's a good place to go and gather information. A lot of people, your politics, your government, all of them use these people for research.

Okay.

So that's what they're about. And that's what I get a lot of my information from that as far as their research. And I just apply it to godly wisdom and some principles of Christ. Right. But the bottom line, get Christ in your life and you'll be all right.

That's right. That's right. So listen, Heavenly Father, we thank you for allowing us to come on these airways today. We know how impactful that we are when we open up our voice and speak about you. Lord, we ask that you guide us as we continue, as we grow, as we mature, as we just bring more souls to you, Father, because we know that is important.

That is mostly important when it comes to our walk as a Christian. Father God, we just thank you and we love you and worship you, Father God. We praise you for everything you've ever done. Continue to watch over us and bless our families, bless our children. Children, bless those who stand in need of prayer.

We ask that those who do not know you come to you. Ask, what must I do to be saved? We just thank you for your grace and your mercy. Thank you for your love and your kindness and your forgiveness. And Heavenly Father, we thank you, Lord, for putting us in a place that we can share your gospel, Lord God.

Share your message, Lord.

Now, Lord God, we ask you to increase in us that we may decrease in ourselves. And you take over. We know that your word will accomplish what it's set out to do, Lord God.

So put us in a place that we are speaking your word with the effectiveness that you want it to be spoken.

So we thank you, Lord God. We thank you for Truth Network. We thank you for the Light FM, Lord God. We thank you for the Christians around the world, Lord God, that are standing up. On your word that are standing up the foundation of your plan for salvation, Lord God.

And we just thank you and we appreciate you. Lord, there's none like you. In Jesus' name, amen.
