From the Fox News Radio Studios in Midtown Manhattan, it's the fastest growing radio talk show. Brian Kilmead. Hi, everyone. Welcome to the Brian Killmeat Show. We have Brett Baer standing by.
Rich Lowry will be the editor of National Review. He's going to respond to, as will both, of President Biden coming out and saying I want a June. And I want a September debate. I don't want to go with the Presidential Debate Commission. And Donald Trump has already said yes, I'm in.
I'm sure he's going to have additional demands. They also have d network demands. They said you have to be able to broadcast both the Democratic and Republican primaries, I guess that would lift lead Fox out. But was there any? Yeah, it Democratic primary debates?
No, there wasn't.
So, what are they even talking about? I guess to go back to 2020. We'll see. I'm sure Trump is going to dig in on this, and they have to wonder how desperate Joe Biden is to want to debate Donald Trump.
So, let's get to the big three.
Now, with the stories you need to know, it's Brian's big three. Number three. He's withholding aid to Israel because of domestic political concerns. The left is eating him alive. Look at those protesters.
What do they want? They want Joe Biden to pull the plug on Israel. Joe Biden now sending billions in weapons to Israel. But wait a second, they're now walking it back. We bring you the latest on the war in Gaza, and we now have a movement in Congress to make Joe Biden give Israel the aid that they've already paid for.
We'll see why Democrats are standing in the way, and the White House would block it. Number two. We're seeing a near 50-year low in violent crime in America. According to the Justice Department, hate crimes targeting Asian Americans fell by 33 percent from 2021 to 2022. But there's still more to do.
Oh my goodness. That was his remarks yesterday in the Rose Garden, 2024 breaking this morning. Biden and Trump are debating. It looks like both have agreed. Plus, Biden does his best Trump impersonation by tariffing China and denying grave polls.
And the Trump beep steaks are hitting record speed. We're getting closer and closer to a short, short, short list. Number one. You spent your day in New York City, downtown that courtroom. Why was it important for you to be there?
He was important as a show of support. President Trump is my friend, and I think what's happening to him is outrageous. What would happen if Nancy Pelosi went to Hunter Biden's trial for wall-to-wall coverage? There you go. Down day for the Trump trial.
But we look back at yesterday's impactful cross on hated Michael Cohen. I mean, hated by both sides. As the prosecution makes it clear after Cohen, they are done. Then defense will be short. Closing arguments.
Could we have an answer by Memorial Day or at least be in the jury's hands? Brett Baer with us now, Chief Political Anchor of Fox News, Anchor Special Report. You watched him last night. Also, a very successful author. Brett.
I do not know if you know it or not, but when I get to the speaker's office, he has a series of books on his bookshelf, and yours is prominently displayed, and he gives you full credit, he says, because you signed it and sent it. Ha ha ha ha. You know I'm I'm in DC, so I I do that kind of thing. I felt totally sure changed and overwhelmed and overshadowed. You should have brought a book with you.
I know. Like, who am I thinking? What are you thinking? Yeah, no, I d I d I do that a lot with uh especially leadership, both sides of the aisle. I send those books.
Who knows? You know, you're on a shelf in the back of an interview. Right.
So Oh, that's a great idea. I shouldn't have thought of that.
So, Brett, what is your reaction to a tweet about 8:30 of Joe Biden saying, I have two debates, one's going to be in June, one's going to be in September, and Trump already answering?
So I think one, I think it's great that we'll get debates. I mean, as long as this gets worked out, ironed out. And the fact that there'll be more than one, I think that's fantastic. Origin you know, when I first saw it, I said, What what is the deal with this? Why why is he doing this?
And then I had a conversation or two and um You know, September sixth is the day that All of the states lock in exactly who is on their ballot. there is this thought process that maybe RFK junior is going to take the libertarian invite on the ticket, thereby being on all the ballots. You don't know if you would make the threshold for the Commission on Presidential Debates But it's right now he's polling in a place that he would. By doing this early, The Biden team circumvents the possibility that RFK Jr. could be on that debate stage.
and thereby makes their own rules. and does it in June and September. They say it's to try to do it for early votes, but the first debate was scheduled for september sixteenth, and only a few absentee ballots in Pennsylvania would possibly be out and about. Here is President Biden actually making that challenge. Listen.
Donald Trump lost two debates to me in 2020. Since then he hadn't shown up for debate.
Now he's acting like he wants to debate me again.
Well make my day, pal. I'll even do it twice.
So let's pick the dates, Donald. I hear you're free on Wednesdays.
Okay. Bunch of edits on that if you see it. And there you go. Bad guy, get tough guy, make my day.
So we'll see. The specifics the campaign put out, you know, their demands about June and September, and then you have. that they can only be hosted by broadcast networks that hosted Republican primary debates in twenty sixteen and Democratic primary debates in twenty twenty.
So then you are limited to CNN, ABC, Telemundo, and CBS. Those are the the networks that did both of those things. And they're saying that the moderators be from their regular staff. on from any of those networks.
So this will all be negotiated by the Trump side, and we'll see where we end up. But bottom line is we're getting closer to the fact that these two men will be on the same stage, and that is a good thing for America. Right, and Brent, I also get in reports that the moderator has to be have played a prominent role in the Tom Brady Roast, and I thought that was wrong. And it doesn't seem, I think it could get very bitter very quickly. Belichick.
Belichick is the moderator. That'll be fantastic. All right.
So, a couple other things. We're talking about the trial. We have an off day today, but I think Thursday is the biggest day for defense, you could argue. I don't know who they're going to call, but to have a further cross-examination of Michael Cohen. We have to live by the transcript and get the feeling.
But the sense is that the defense proved that Michael Cohen was number one, despises Donald Trump now, wants to put him in jail, made a ton of money off their relationship to Tumba, $3.5 million, and does say that part of the deal was to testify against Trump when he went to a limited time in prison and now home confinement.
Now, we're not lawyers, but we're talking to him nonstop. I watched you last night. What are you getting from the cross? Yeah, I me I think they're gonna be at it for a little while. I mean, I don't think it's gonna wrap up super Quickly, um, you know, I bet you goes into the weekend and maybe beyond, but um.
You know, first they're taking on his social media, and they're taking on the fact that he hates Donald Trump, and that yes, he does want to see him behind bars. And you add that to what Stormy Daniels said, which is something similar. Um that does factor in when you have Somebody who happens to be a former president facing time behind bars based on people who. have it out for them.
So that, that factors in. And then secondly, I think that the credibility stuff is going to really be attacked here in the next You know, next iteration of the cross-examination. I do think that the prosecutors landed some blows trying to tie Trump directly to those records by what Cohen said. But he said other things differently before. And the credibility question is the real big, big deal.
Yeah, I mean, we always have Mon because he seems to make the most sense. This is what Jonathan Turley is still saying, cut nine. I still cannot figure out not only what the crime was that brought to life this dead misdemeanor. I can't figure out what the government's arguing as to how this should have been denoted. If it wasn't a legal expense, What's the notation some accountant should have put in a ledger?
None of us know because they just have shrugged. And that's what this case is. It's a shrug. And they expect the judge to do the same. And that's part of the reason it got Freed Sakaria.
You have. David Axelrod, when it comes to the economy, and you have People like James Carville saying that this law affair is not working. I think a lot of people. Doesn't matter if you're right or left. Are you still trying to figure out what the end game is?
The end game is to find him guilty. I got it. But on what? Exactly. Yeah.
And Yeah. And it's cobbled together as far as the type of charges and the fact that there has to be an underlying felony. And you know, it d it doesn't it's not simple. Um but you throw in a lot of salacious facts and uh a lot of you know uh allegations and uh it adds up to What the jury has to make a decision. You know, you have to have at least one juror.
That says, I don't either get it or I'm against the way this is happening.
So, Brett Barregas. Brett, I just want to bring you to. Other things that are going on, and one number one is. They, uh President Biden having trouble with the truth. I don't know if you know this, but on CNN, they have a fact checker every time Trump talks and I go, he said this wrong, he said this wrong, and there's this wrong.
But he continues the President keep continues to say things that are not based anywhere near on fact. For example, this, cut eighteen. We also provided historic levels of funding to public safety and local communities that is delivering results. We're seeing near a near 50-year low on violent crime in America. According to the Justice Department, hate crimes targeting Asian Americans fell by 33 percent from 2021 to 2022.
So Asian Americans have their the hate crimes are down. For the rest of the country, they're up. FBI says these are 50-year highs. It's the exact opposite. A slight tick down from 22 to 23.
But these are still do you know anyone in America who says, thank God we've got to hold a crime, especially Chicago, Philadelphia, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco? No. And I I think that um You know, if you went through that Erin Burnett interview, by the way, I thought she did a nice job pressing and being tough but fair. the answers that came back, I mean, they were they were chock full of of all kinds of stats that really never matched up, and this is one of them. No, if you talk to people about crime in big cities especially, it's one of the bigger problems.
with immigration, with inflation and how people feel. Yeah, I just saw Katie Tur when she came back at Nancy Pelosi and said, Nancy Pelosi goes, you know, he's lost more jobs than everyone since Herbert Hoover. He goes, well, we had the pandemic. And she went off. I looked at Joe Biden's face when Aaron Burnett came up with a follow-up question and talked about how people are feeling as opposed to the stats he's revealing.
And he looked offended that people were bringing it up, but it didn't stop him from doing it again. Listen to this, talking to Yahoo Finance, Cut 24. I think inflation has gone slightly up. It was at 9% when I came in, and it's now down around 3%. I mean, he goes on.
It's not 9% when you came in. From your sources, do people tell him he's wrong? Or are they afraid to? Or are they trying to just convince people he's keep saying it until people are convinced he's right? I don't know.
I mean, there are folks that are concerned about putting out the right information, but. They're not the folks that are giving him the right information. Um I I think that He believes that, so he keeps on saying some of this stuff. I mean, some of the things have ended up in speeches that are teleprompted. Um and you know, somebody's behind, you know, throwing that information out.
So do you watch Tom Brady's Roast? I did. At least part of it. I didn't watch all of it. Right.
So it was pretty brutal, right? It was. Yeah, and we can't wait to talk to him. Hopefully, he'll make himself available as part of the Fox family. I'm sure we'll see him at the Christmas party.
I was at the Upfronts. I was at the Upfronts, and I talked to him. And what was that like? Oh, he's a very attractive man. No, but I he's I played golf with him before and I saw him in the green room and I said, wow, that was tough.
And he said, yeah, yeah. Most importantly, it was tough on my kids. They had a A tough time with it. He's like, but, you know, it rolled off my back. Right.
I was going to play the soundbite. I don't have to now.
So you got that story also. Giselle is evidently upset on him. But that was some of the. It just proved to me, Brett, and tell me if you buy into this. I think we're getting through cancel culture.
They're getting hold of that everyone's so sensitive about everything when gender and race and religion. Do you think we're getting on the other side of this?
Well, I do think that it's breaking because if you can stomach that roast. You can stomach a lot. And I do think that there is a change in the air when it comes to that cancel culture stuff. And I hope you can factor some of that humor into your panels. It's going to be ultimately your decision.
But, I mean, to start attacking people's purposes. It would be interesting. Right.
Mark Thiessen and just Wan Williams. And there you go. You got to stump a panel. Who's on tonight? I think that's a good question.
I have no clue. I gotta talk to my staff. Who's not on? I don't think you're on. Are you coming on?
No, I'm not coming on. Yes. But you know what? I should tell you, guys, I was asked to come on.
So did you know I was asked to come on? I asked if he's in town, put him on. Oh, you did? Or was the staff going, what about Brian? And you say, if there's nobody else available, what is the real story?
I'm a journalist. Come on, I was going to try to do it. I was going to try to do it. And by the way, I got invited to Fox and Friends, and then they said, and I was in New York, and they said, no, no, no, Brian's in D.C. And I said, well, I have to have Brian to get on Fox and Friends.
So this is a controversy. I really stumbled into something. Right.
All right.
Brett, I'm going to license my Speaker Johnson interview. For some reason, we didn't air any of the substance. We just aired my tour.
So if you could get a hold of the transcript and air some of the interchange, I'd appreciate it. You aired a clip last night. I'll put it on. Right.
And there'll be no licensing fee. Brett, thanks so much. We'll see you. All right.

And while you're here, we hope you'll subscribe to the podcast. Like, subscribe, and share. A talk show that's real. This is the Brian Kill Me Show. Michael Cohen, believable on the stand.
He says he's seen the light, and now he wants to rid the world of Donald Trump. If I were litigating the case as an attorney, I would never put that guy on the stand. He can't be believed. He's known to be a perjurer. He lied to Congress, lied to the S IRS, lying over and over and over.
You know, everything he says should be taken with a grain of salt. And I don't think any jury in their right mind would put any credibility on what he's saying. Just a little of my interview with Speaker Johnson. You didn't see any of that on Fox and Friends. I'm not really sure why.
We just did the fun part when he actually toured me around. He told me a historical look at the old speaker. Where the old speaker residence was, where they used to have all Congress, which was fascinating. But I also, we talked about some real stuff.
So that's going to be on. A podcast. And we'll play some throughout the show today. Rich Lowry is coming up next. At which time I also asked him about Bliz Cheney.
I'm going to get to that in a moment. Probably after Rich Lowry, because Liz Cheney went out and blistered him for going to support Donald Trump. Where I don't understand on what planet does the Speaker of the House not support the President of the United States, so the one who wants to be the next President of the United States.
So that's really what. What has been going on with Speaker Johnson, who also I asked him, too, about the fact that there's a talk out there that. Jim Jordan wants to be the next Speaker and is out there helping troubled districts, battleground districts in the House and helping there raise money because he's got such a high profile and great personality that he wants to be Speaker and win some of those people over that didn't vote for him last time. And he thought that was just preposterous because he said he's my best friend here. But we go out as couples all the time.
So, we use each other for advice.
So, you couldn't even see that happening.
So, it just goes to show you a lot of these reports. You got to go to the people to find out what goes on.
Now, a lot of times you can tell when people are spinning. But he was he had heard it. But you just see we're best friends.
So he says, not in a million years can you see that happening. We'll see what happens. Rich Larry coming up next. I want to talk about the debate acceptance by Donald Trump and the offer from Joe Biden, and then what could happen in between. We'll talk about it.
A radio show like no other. It's Brian Killmeid. Here's what Liz Cheney said. I have to admit, I'm a bit surprised that Speaker Johnson wants to be in the I Cheated on My Wife for the Pornstar Club. I guess he's not that concerned about teaching morality to our young people.
What I'm concerned about, and Liz should know this because we used to serve together, is maintaining the rule of law and maintaining the people's faith in our system of justice. Because, Brian, at the end of the day, when we lose that in a constitutional republic, we're in real jeopardy. And that's what's happening right now. People see a two-tiered system of justice. They see the Department of Justice and local prosecutors using politics, going after their political opponent, which is Donald Trump, protecting Joseph Biden in the process, and turning the whole system against the candidate they don't like.
That does not resonate with the people.
So that's some of the controversy and some of the fracture in the Republican Party that still exists. Obviously, Chris Christie, Nikki Haley, Gliz Cheney. Nikki Haley, perhaps. Evidently, she had a donor thank you party, and Donald Trump's name never came up. Rich Lowry, editor of National Review, joins us now.
Hey, Rich, I wanted you to hear that. I just asked the speaker that people are on top of him because he's so tight with Trump right now. Where do you stand? Who's right? I think Johnson's right.
The trail Uh yeah, the underlying conduct is uh uh bad, but he wouldn't be being prosecuted for this unless he is Donald Trump running for um president and it's happening in the middle of a presidential race where even if he eventually wins on appeal, which I think is quite likely 'cause the law has been such a uh Travesty here. He's not going to get his time back. He's not going to get his resources back. He's not going to get, if he's convicted, you know, the Political capital, he loses being called a convicted felon for the next six months.
So it's terrible, and I understand Johnson wanting to stand with them. How do you think this trial is going so far? The President has not paid a price in the polls. In fact, as even James Carville would say, it's not working like we thought it would, which shows you implicates that there's some deviousness behind this, all suspected now confirmed. Yeah, there's actually been a bunch of folks, left to center folks writing pieces the last several weeks.
Well, we shouldn't have depended on the courts, but it shows they were depending on the courts. A lot of that disappointment is around the fact that the other trials likely aren't going to come off. But this is not how the game is supposed to be played. This is not how you defeat an opponent. And I kind of think we can't say for sure, but if he's convicted, I think it's a blip.
I don't think it's going to matter much, especially in this case, given the underlying Subject. Matter, but the advantage Trump has is he's leading on kind of the core things that a presidential race is about. You know, do people think you're going to do a good job? Do they trust you on the major issues? And Biden is trying to make up ground on all the peripheral stuff.
He's being tried, you know, his social posts are awful. He supposedly said he's going to be a dictator on day one, all this sort of stuff. And he can make hay with that. You know, obviously Trump's not running away with it, but he'd rather be strong on the core stuff than the peripheral stuff.
So here's what Rachel Maddow said about all the support Trump's getting from other Republican lawmakers, including some vice presidential finalists. Cut five. One thing that has changed in the Republican Party is that they're being in the tank for Donald Trump over the last five years has changed and become so much more tanked that they all now dress like him too. Yes. They were all wearing the exact same outfit.
It was like they were rockettes. The initial, just this, just seeing them all show up together, dressed like Like a squad to call him their dear friend when he doesn't know what any of their last names are. I just found it's sad. It's an interesting snapshot of the Republican Party. She can make the observation, but he knows the whole Republican Party.
I mean, he will tell you who's being primaried and who should be primaried and what they're saying about him. But they are in lockstep. Not many people predicted this. Yeah, I don't know what she's talking about, dressing like him. Does that mean wearing a suit and a tie?
But this is the thing people don't understand about Trump. You know, half of his career has been being a host, right?
So a host knows your name. He knows things about you. He makes you feel comfortable. He makes you feel special. And he does that to people in private.
And one of the reasons he got so many endorsements so early, one, I mean, people thought he was going to win. But two, he asks for them and lobbies for them and tries to persuade people they should do it. And that's going to be good for them and for him. That's traditional politics.
So, yeah, they were all wearing blue suits and red ties.
So just about the trial itself, how close have you been following it? I would say moderately closely. It's not I I haven't been obsessively interested. I'd be following more closely if it were on T V. I mean, it's a good thing that it's not on T V because it'd be more of a carnival show than it is now, but f following it with some interest.
I want you to hear what Carrie Kupak said. She used to be the chief of staff for uh for the attorney general For Donald Trump's Attorney General, Cut 14, Bill Barbara. One thing that's interesting is: I'm sitting among press who I've known for years, going back to my days working at ZOJ and before that, and I know for a fact that a lot of them have been recipients of psychotic phone calls from Michael Cohen when he worked for Donald Trump.
So as they're watching him testify, I don't know how they couldn't remember some of the ranting things that he would say to them, the cursing, just the craziness. And other than that, I have to say, I thought your monologue was excellent. The thing that really stands out is how obsessed he is with them. It's weird. Uh He's a it just they they expose it.
Cohen is absolutely obsessed with Trump, and he made $3.5 million from Trump. And when asked why he was saying these crazy things on Twitter, he goes, Well, I have trouble sleeping. It helps me sleep.
So, what are they trying? I mean, from what you could see, they're trying to say that these guys are seriously flawed, and this is a minor infraction, if anything. I mean, as far as I can tell, most of the witnesses have had nothing to do with what's supposedly the underlying offense, right? The underlying offense is that in 2017, when he was paying Cohen back for the payment to Stormy Daniels, it was booked as an ongoing legal retainer rather than a loan repayment. That's the crime, or the supposed crime.
It's a misdemeanor. It's a misdemeanor that the Statute of Limitations long ago expired on.
So how do you prosecute him on that?
Well, you say there's some other vague second offense that this was in furtherance of. But you need to establish intent, right? The second offense supposedly is some campaign finance violation.
So what you need is Trump to have said, this is a campaign expense. And it should be paid through my campaign, but I'm not going to do it because this is a way to hide it or something like that. But if Trump thought it was a campaign expense, it would be totally out of character not to have the campaign pay for it, right? When has he ever dipped into his own pocket when he doesn't need to, right? He's a penny-pinching billionaire.
So the whole thing doesn't make any sense. I can't believe it'll stand up on appeal. But that doesn't matter if they've sucked away the time now, which is very precious in the middle of the campaign, and if they can call him a convicted felon the rest of the campaign.
Now, maybe that doesn't matter. I kind of think it isn't going to matter. But all things considered, all things being equal, you don't want to be accused of being called a convicted felon. And that's what this is about, is hurting him politically.
So the President of the United States is taking an interesting attack with the polls. He's saying, I don't believe it. I just don't believe it. He's trailing a five or six, trailing the national poll. He's losing an African-American vote.
He's lost 20 points there. Dead heat in 18 to 29, which is he's supposed to be dominating. And he also is losing Hispanic votes. It's basically a dead heat or Trump is leaving. He never thought they'd see that.
Remember, George Bush got close, but never thought they would lead that with the vote.
So he says, I don't believe these polls. And that, in response, CNN's data analyst came back at. Joe Biden, cut 26.
So he doesn't like the polls. He doesn't like what they're showing right now. Is he right or is it wishful thinking? He loved the polls four years ago when they showed him ahead. These are the same polls now.
But here's the thing. The polls can be right at this point. And then keep in mind, we still have six months until the election. Polls can change plenty. Your answer.
Yeah, I mean, that's right. I mean, if you look back in 2020, there was one poll that had Trump ahead, the whole general election. I think it was one Rasmussen poll, right? And so this is the strongest that Trump has polled in a general election ever. You know, he'd occasionally be close to Hillary or maybe a point ahead, but th this is the strongest he's ever polled.
And I can see as a Democrat, and I feel this a little bit too, I kind of need to see it to believe it that the numbers among Latinos, blacks and young people are going to be as bad for Biden as they are now. But he Reputable Polling outlets have him behind, you know, and it makes sense that he'd be slightly behind in the national race and then more behind in the swing states, right? Because his coalition is maldistributed. It's in places like New York and California. It doesn't matter how much you're winning them by, you know, you still get the same number of electoral votes.
And the biggest tell, Brian, is 40% approval rating, right? If you're an incumbent president at 40, you are losing.
So it's not shocking that he's behind.
Well, I tell you a couple of things. Nevada, he's up by double digits and Georgia.
So in Nevada, they say it's a lot about the economy. And that's what they're looking at. But you know what's interesting, and you want to maybe analyze this yourself, is that he's doing better than almost every Senate candidate. He's doing better than Rogers in Michigan. He's doing better than Sheehi in Montana.
He's doing better than McCormick in Pennsylvania. And And down, and Jackie, I think it's Jackie Rosen's a Democrat there, but doing better than a Republican in Nevada.
So instead of being the drag that some people say, he's leading. Yeah, well this is the thing. The the new Trump coalition, the downside of it, right, is these are low propensity voters. They're hard to turn out in midterms, one, and they're hard to turn out for other candidates who don't have Trump's attributes, but Trump can turn them out, right?
So even if the Senate candidates can't get them, he can.
So that that that kinda that kind of makes sense. Lastly, on Israel weapons. Wall Street Journal has a story that the Biden administration now is going to give a billion dollars worth of weapons to Israel. They said that is not true. They are pushing back on the pushback in the House to make them give them the weapons they paid for.
Here's Congressman Mike Johnson on which really bought Speaker Mike Johnson, cut thirty-five. I spoke to Prime Minister Netanyahu myself. I called him because I wanted to get direct from him what is being held back, and he said it's precision weapons. And he said the irony is we need these precision munitions because this is how we protect innocent civilian life in Rafa, in Gaza. And so the irony is what Joe Biden is doing for political purposes to try to appease the pro-Hamas people in his party, I guess they're pro-Palestinian, he's doing real harm to the cause and the protection of innocent life.
So they were going to put the precision kits on those 2,000-pound bobs.
Now, why would you need that? Because these are deep tunnels that have been made over the course of decades, and that's where. Hamasis. Yeah. And you also had the story over the weekend.
There have been denials about it, but a story that we're denying them intelligence about where Sinoir is and about where the tunnels are, right? And if you're really concerned with avoiding civilian casualties and the attacks being as precise as possible, you should be giving that intelligence. It just makes no sense. And just in sheer political terms, this is a disaster for Biden. I mean, he's caught between his pro-Hamas left and moderate, pro-Israel Democrats.
He's trying to please all sides. And it's just confusing. It's a confused mess what plays into one of the The big things dragging him down that people think he's a weak and ineffectual leader because he is, and this is another indication of it. All right.
Look forward to your columns, Rich, Rich, Lowry, National Review. Appreciate it. All right.
When we come back, I'll be able to take some of your calls: 1-866-408-7669. Also, play some more of my interview with Speaker Johnson and other news: Maryland. Could they actually flip that seat to red, and would a nemesis of Donald Trump be the one to do it? We'll talk about it. Politics, current events, and news that affects you.
Brian's got a lot more to say. Stay with Brian Kilmead. The more you listen, the more you'll know. It's Brian Killmead. To my Democratic and Independent friends tonight.
You know me. You'd know. My proven track record of reaching across the aisle to find common ground. for the common good. You know that I'm not going to be just one more Capitol Hill Republican.
You know that I have the courage. to put people over politics and to put country over party. And you know. That I will stand up. to the current president, the former president, to the Democratic Party, or the Republican Party.
And Larry Hogan, the moderate Republican governor from Maryland, at the last minute, relatively, he listened to Steve Daines and is going to become the next senator. He's going to try to become the next senator from Maryland, a Republican. That would be stunning to replace Ben Cardin. But he is a unique person in that he's looked at as a moderate and he does take on Liz Cheney style, the former president, even though there are times that they agree. And I think that Donald Trump's going to keep quiet on this because he's not going to rip Larry Hogan.
It doesn't work to his advantage. Because if you look at all these races, The ones that they can win and flip the Senate. They're all going to be close. Dave McCormick has got about a three-point deficit. Tim Sheehy, about a two-point deficit.
Mike Rogers is likely the Republican nominee. We'll get it in around August. It's going to be an uphill battle in Michigan, even though he's got fantastic credentials. West Virginia Jim Justice got the nomination last night, but it doesn't work to Donald Trump's advantage to say Larry Hogan's a bad guy because if it's a Republican seat, you get the majority by one or two seats, and it matters because mostly he will be a consistent vote with you. Worst comes to worst, he's Susan Collins, who's a Republican, but is the one to go across the aisle the longest.
Here's more. Cut 33. And I will continue to be the same strong independent for leader that I always have been. Look, no one of us has all the answers. or all the power.
And let's face it, one party alone can't fix this mess. John F. Kennedy once said.
Sometimes party loyalty demands too much. This is one of those moments.
So I'm asking you to join us. in this important fight. to fix the broken politics in America. If you are completely fed up, with divisiveness and dysfunction in Washington and you want change. then vote for me to send a strong independent leader who will stand up and fight to clean up the mess in Washington.
And we'll see how that goes. Because He will run. And they'll probably not want Trump to be there because Maryland's got a Republican, sure, but they don't have a big Republican base.
So he's going to have to run as Larry Hogan, and I think people are going to leave him alone for Daines to get him. That's a big salute to him because he's a fine candidate.
Now let me tell you what's got the Biden administration saying. I'll debate Trump and I'll debate him twice. Let's do it. Black voters in swing states. In 2020, Biden had 87% of the vote.
Now he's got sixty-three. Trump's done from nine to twenty three.
So even if they're half right. The fact that he's in double digits and maybe in the 20s, I don't think that Biden can win just with that. If elections were held today, who would you vote for if the candidates were Joe Biden and Donald Trump among 18 to 29 age voters in swing states? Trump 46-43. Think about that for a second.
You don't think that, that's creating panic on the left? You got constantly Joe Biden saying, I don't agree with the polls. How many people do you call? How many people actually pick up? These polls aren't right.
Our polls are right.
Well, we're about to see But you love the polls when you're doing well, obviously, and then you j you d you get a disdain for them when you're not. Keep in mind, I think Fox polls come out today. It'll be very interesting to see if they're reminiscent of what we're looking at right now. The other thing to do is to try to get a hold of the economy and the economic message. And that's what Joe Biden did yesterday.
He actually came out and said one hundred percent attacks on China, one hundred percent tariff on them. He said China is the problem. They're trying to dump our steel, dump our aluminum and they're trying to take over the car industry with cheap electric cars. And he says China's a problem. That is a total response to Donald Trump.
Just like the border executive order is a total response to Donald Trump. Not only was he tougher on the border, was he better with the economy? Was he better with China? He initiated all this, and now we're closer to getting it done. This is Joe Biden in the past on China, Cut 20.
China is a great nation. And we should hope for the continued expansion. China is going to eat our lunch. Come on, man. They're not bad folks, folks.
But guess what? They're not a competition for us. They're bad folks. Their military and their government, really bad folks. And there's a report out today on FoxNews.com.
You have to read it. How China is financing the division on college campuses and helping foment the unrest we're seeing, not only with the two-thirds of people not being students, but the students in particular. They're doing that between fentanyl and what they're going at, let alone the direct military support on Russia. Everywhere you go, they look at us as a threat. And it's time that we owned up to it.
Joe Biden's missed this ball, this underhand pitch, for his entire career. There's no reason to believe he's sincere now. From Hia Tom Fox News Headquarters in New York City, always seeking solutions, never sowing division. It's Brian Kilmead. All right, we've come to you from 48th and 6th in Midtown Manhattan.
So glad you're here. We're in New York, but heard around the country and the world. Carl Robe is standing by, wearing an outfit he was wearing just a hangout outfit, but he knows he's got to get dressed up for my radio show for that. I'm honored. And Sanja Stribling will be with us, a 21-year veteran from armed combat in the Army.
She's got a brand new book out called From the Battlefield to the Boardroom: The Infinite Desire to Win, a Woman's Journey to Infinite Success in Life, Business, and Career, Special Memorial Day just a week away. We are now officially in Texas. Carl Rove calls his home, Texas. We will need some advice to you, Carl, on how to succeed in Dallas. All right.
Is that possible? I'm working on it. I've already gotten my assignment. You do. Doocy's gotten ahead of you.
He's giving me my assignment. I will have it done this afternoon. All right.
This afternoon? I'm talking about in two minutes. Oh, well, he's given me an assignment to get done for your Friday show. Your success of your Friday morning TV show depends upon my delivering this afternoon on a couple of items.
Well, let's go to the big three.
Now, with the stories you need to know, it's Brian's big three. Number three. He's withholding aid to Israel because of domestic political concerns. The left is eating him alive. Look at those protesters.
What do they want? They want Joe Biden to pull the plug on Israel. That is Lindsey Graham, and we're trying to get some clarity on Joe Biden's plans when it comes to arms, aid and Israel. We heard this morning on the Wall Street Journal a billion dollars is going to Israel. There's denial from the White House.
We bring you the latest on the war in Gaza and the administration's relentless focus on controlling all aspects and messing it all up. Number two. We're seeing a near 50-year low on violent crime in America. According to the Justice Department, hate crimes targeting Asian Americans fell by 33 percent from 2021 to 2022. But there's still more to do.
Okay, congratulations to that small area of this country that doesn't feel an increase in crime. Breaking this morning, Biden and Trump are talking about doing debates. Plus, we are understanding, too, that Biden does his best Trump impersonation by tariffing China and denying grave polls as the Trump Veep stakes, by the way, kick in. Number one. You spent your day in New York City, downtown that courtroom.
Why was it important for you to be there? He was important as a show as a court. President Trump is my friend, and I think what's happening to him is outrageous. What would happen if Nancy Pelosi went to Hunter Biden's trial for wall-to-wall coverage? Down day for Trump trial.
We look at yesterday's impactful cross. They'll be off on Friday, too. And hated Michael Cohen, as the prosecution makes it clear after Cohen, they are done. Carl, great to see you. Good to be here.
Thanks for allowing me into the sacred center of your radio of your radio. And now KLIF over in Dallas has decided to carry the show with three. Fantastic. And how close is that to your house?
Well, it's uh it's uh I'm I'm I'm south of there. I'm in Austin. That's all you're willing to say.
Well, we're a big state. Let me just say it's about a three and a half hour drive. All right, three and a half hours. Yeah. About what it would take you to get across town in New York.
Understood. But this is Dallas, you know Dallas? Dallas, yes. What does it take to be successful in Dallas? What it takes to be successful in Dallas is straight talk about the things that all Americans are considering.
Fast-growing city, a lot of traffic. Uh, yeah, that's right. But but but you know what, we uh we kn we know how to build highways in Texas, so you know You do it quick. Yeah, we do it quick and we do it well and and we're uh we're the biggest state in the union in which all you know, about like eighty or ninety percent of the highway contracts are low bid.
So, it's not these public-private partnerships. It's take your pencil, sharpen it, and come in with the lowest possible bid, and the business is yours. That's good. It's no mystery.
So, Carl, I want to talk to you about what's going on with the Trump trial. You heard James Carville, you heard Fareed Zakaria, I've attacked David Axerau when it comes to the economy. There's a disappointment that the Trump trials haven't destroyed him.
Okay. Yeah, and they were never going to destroy them, particularly when you lead with the weakest one. I mean, this is the one that is sort of convoluted. You know, it supposedly is a federal election law violation, and yet the Federal Election Commission refused to take action, and so did the Biden Justice Department. And then it's a business records case, which is sort of like weird that, you know, how many other New York business people have been taken to court over $130,000.
About zero. Yeah, how about zero?
So this one looks political. And it's Manhattan, it's the Manhattan DA, it's the Manhattan DA who ran for office saying I'm going to get Trump, just like the Democratic Attorney General of the state of New York.
So this is the one where, you know, there was an ick factor last week. This is not exactly how we wanted the former President of the United States to be depicted to our kids and grandkids. But my sense is that this thing has advantaged him in the sense of energizing his. Base and generating a lot of small dollar donors to come to his rescue. It's hurt him in that he's been off the trail four days out of the week and will be for a few more weeks.
Yeah, I think so. Although the prosecution could be right, but wrapping up with Michael Cohen, there'll be a redirect, I guess, after the cross, which will continue for a couple more days, perhaps. But we're not lawyers, but we just know the impact and what it means. How important is it that he's getting this show of support over the last four or five days from Republican stalwarts? I'm not certain how important it is.
In fact, they do speak afterwards. Yeah, they do speak afterwards, and that's useful because that ought to free him from having to talk about this much. My criticism of the way he's handling this is: take Tuesday. He was out there for just about just under ten minutes. He spent one minute and 42 seconds going after Biden on electric vehicles and chariot tariffs on China, laying out a case that he was a day late and a dollar short on the tariff issue and that the electric vehicles was going to be important to the energy industry, excuse me, to the auto industry.
And in Michigan, he knew he was in trouble with the UAW because he was all for EVs. Still is, by the way. But he then went on and spent seven minutes and two seconds complaining about his treatment in court. This is a moment he's got time is vital in a presidential campaign, particularly one where you're kept off the campaign trail four days out of every week. And so when he goes into court, he gets the nation's attention.
And that what they want to hear about is less about his own personality. Travails in the courtroom and more about what his second-term vision is.
So, I'd reverse those. Seven minutes of talking about what he's going to do and why I'm sorry I'm not on the campaign trail because here's what I'd be telling you that I'm going to be doing. And a minute 42 complaining about his treatment at court. We've heard that. There's nothing new we're learning about how badly treated you feel you have been in the courtroom.
There's lots that the American people, particularly those that are up for grabs, need to hear about his second-term vision.
So I have to tell you what the polls say. You've already analyzed them. I saw you on talking about him. But it is quite noteworthy that the president's gaining in certain areas. Black swing voters, as I mentioned, in 2024, Biden had 63, excuse me, Biden had 87 percent of the black vote in 2020.
Now it's down to 63. When it comes to swing-state voters, these are swing-state numbers, by the way, between 18 and 29. Trump up three. He was getting trounced by that in 2020. Why don't I see more of a dissemination?
In the polls, if I see such a change in the micro polls in certain categories. Yeah, well, first of all, let's be a little bit careful. These are really good news for Trump and really bad news for Biden. Let's start from that point. In fact, there's a column tomorrow that's going to be in the Wall Street Journal that starts off by making that exact point.
It's a really good column, well done, well researched. I think I've done a hell of a job on it myself. Yeah, exactly. Right.
But let's be a little bit cautious. First of all, this is one poll. That's why I like relying on averages. And if you look at the averages, they reflect the general tone of the New York Times Philadelphia Inquirer Sienna poll, which is Trump. Trump is ahead.
But they're a little bit different when you look at the averages. If you look at the averages, what happens is the Sunbelt states, Nevada, Arizona, and Georgia, pop out as Trump ahead outside the margin of error in those three states. Really good in those three states. The other states are closer. He's up by less than a point, six tenths in one, and I think four tenths in another.
in Great Lakes states and up by two uh Wisconsin and Michigan. and up by two in Pennsylvania. all with inside the margin of error.
So th but but you know I'd rather be ahead in in Five of six in all six states, and ahead in the New York Times poll in five out of six states than to be on the other side of the. I'm struck by Georgia's separation and Nevada. If you look at that Siena New York Times poll, double digits.
Well, I know. And you know what I think that's reflective of? You touched on just a moment ago: black, brown, and young. Because what we're seeing is a lack of enthusiasm in those areas, and it's being reflected in the screen that generates who's going to turn out to vote. I will say this.
Trump has got to be careful about this because the Times Sienna poll, the problem there is doing Above what he did, you know, outperforming what he did in 2020, it's that Biden is terribly underperforming what he did. And so Biden's got a problem with his messaging. Trump has a high floor and a low ceiling, and he's got to bump that up as much best as he can because right now he is at or below where he was in twenty twenty. I'm all for it and understand Talk broadly, talk broadly. You're successful, but you make it seem like this is the most successful ever.
That's very Trumpian. What I'm struck by is how many times Joe Biden just flat out tells things that are not true. Like, for example, the most devastating thing that happened to the economy we haven't experienced as a country in twenty years is what's going on with inflation. He did this for the second time in four days. Here he is talking to Yahoo Finance, Cut twenty three.
Lastly, Mr. President, over fifteen million jobs. Have been created under your watch. The unemployment rate under 4% for 27 straight months. The stock market at a record high.
Why don't households feel Wealthy right now?
Well, first of all, if you look at the reports coming out of the Michigan survey, over 60% of the people in America feel they're they're personally in good shape. They're personally in good shape. But they look out and they say the rest of the world's not in good shape. Other people aren't in good shape. Is that a good answer?
No. Look, think about this. Look at somebody who was buying something on january twentieth of twenty twenty one and buying the same thing today. Prices have gone up twenty percent and median household income has dropped five percent. And people are having difficulty dealing with that delta of prices are up twenty percent and wages are not keeping up with that.
And so we all know it. You know, you know what I travel a lot. I mean, I went into a fast food joint and bought a hamburger, and I was shocked how much I was paying. You go to the grocery store. You know, you you can fill up your car.
I mean, imagine the family that's, you know, getting ready to put the kids through scho uh to go back to school this fall. What they're going to have to pay when they go pick up some clothes. But the summer vacation, is it less than it was four years ago? No. James Carville had a really important point where he said.
basically that Biden is surrounded by a bunch of pointy headed Ivy League economists, he said, who are not helping him understand the world that people are living in. And he was echoed by David Axelrod, Obama's chief, who said Biden is not empathizing with the people in the world in which they live every day. Yeah, because he spent $20 million and wasted it. He was selling Bionomics last year.
Well, you know, look, did you ever take a marketing class? I did, you know, freshman year, I think it was. I remember one rule: they said, if your product stinks, don't put your name on it. Everybody thinks that he's doing a lousy job in the economy. And how does he respond?
The brilliant people at the White House say, let's go out and put our name on it. I just wonder who's doing this. Cut 24 is more. I think inflation has gone slightly up. This was at 9% when I came in, and it's now down about 3%.
But the fact is that I think people are just uncertain. It was not at 9%. No, it wasn't. What is he thinking? It was just barely over 1%.
I mean, and look, I mean, this is his mindset. He's living in an alternative universe. And as a result, he is likely to lose. If I were a Democrat, I'd be sitting there screaming at him. Will you please understand that you've got a problem?
You cannot in politics solve a problem unless you're willing to acknowledge it. And when he says stupid things like that, it was 9% when I came in. Nobody, you were the guy that made it grow. And how did you make it grow? By going out there and spending money that we didn't have and borrowing it, and thereby having more money, chasing fewer goods, the classic definition of inflation.
And you did it because you wanted to be, quote, transformational. All your little minions at the White House were running around saying in the spring of 2021, he's the most transformational Democrat president ever since. At least Lyndon Johnson and probably FDR, which was sick. It's a shot at DeBarack Obama. You didn't support me in 2015 and 2016.
You told me not to run. I get elected in 2020, and now I'm going to show you up by being more quote transformational. They're really sad. Right.
By the way, yeah, that's their civil war. Do it behind your closed doors, not in front of our country. Listen, Carl Rove's here, another segment, and he's officially welcomed me to Dallas and told me that I need to be successful at KLIF, so we appreciate that. Back in a moment. Expanding your knowledge base.
It's the Brian Kill Meet Show. If you're interested in it, Brian's talking about it. You're with Brian Kilmead.
So, the Israel aid situation. I get up this morning, call Rove, and I find out that now the Biden administration is giving a billion dollars worth of additional aid to Israel. I said, okay, he's reversing himself. The Wall Street Journal had this story of where your column's gonna be tomorrow. And then the Biden administration came back and said, I don't know who told you that.
We're not doing that. While pushing back on the House movement to push aid back to Israel, your thoughts? Look. I thought this was a guy who, when he visited with Golda Mayer decades ago, adopted an attitude towards Israel which was: I understand they have no place to go. And I will stand with Israel no matter what.
And that's what he said, you know, as recently as a few days ago, consistently for several months. But then, once the campus disputes and the campus protests start, and the left wing of his party comes unglued, and a small part of the American electorate gets wired up about this, suddenly he starts to cave. He wants to sort of be on both sides. You never win a battle like that by picking both sides. Pick one or the other because people want a president who, even if they don't agree with him, they say he has strong opinions, and maybe I better trust him because he knows more than I.
Why he is not standing up and saying, why is he interfering in Israeli politics, which strengthens Bibi, whom he does not like, why he is being trying to have both sides on Hamas in order to placate the campus protesters and the left wing of his party, and why he is now slow-rolling aid to Israel. Maybe we shouldn't be surprised. He was doing that with Ukraine for the last several years, and look where it got us. I think the next president has to, as much as look at The deficit, I get it, has to commit to a massive defense increase. We have to increase our industrial base as a country, like building a bridge.
That bridge is going to fall without it. That's how necessary it is. Do you think that will resonate with the American people?
Well, it will if somebody goes out there and talks about it. And ironically enough, it's now happening. Because in part because of Ukrainian aid. What we are doing is taking 20-year-old tow missiles and javelins out of our armories and sending them to Ukraine and replacing them with versions, upgraded versions of that with 20 years of new technology in them. And so, yeah, we're starting to the aid program, virtually all this money gets spent in the United States to build things, which means we have companies that are expanding their plants, training people, putting in new equipment.
But yes, we need to do this, not just because it's good economically. We are in a dangerous world. We are at a much more dangerous point than we've been since any point, maybe since the Cuban Missile Crisis. We have four adversaries that are coming for us. Putin, the Ayatollah.
The Chinese and the North Koreans, and they're watching what is happening in Ukraine. And this world, if we fail in Ukraine to give them what they need to defend themselves and Putin succeeds, Europe is in danger, and our other enemies will be on the move because they will say the United States and the West are weak and we can take advantage of them. And this is the advantage for Trump to tap into his expertise. You tell Lithuania, Estonia, you let everybody know in Latvia that you guys are committed. You're spending over 2%, but guess what?
No more Russian equipment. I can't replace it. I want you to buy American stuff. Sweden and Norway, same thing. I want you to buy American stuff.
So what? For-profit, you know what? You'll get a friendly break.
So this will help everybody, wouldn't it? Yeah, well, look at what's happening. Who is spending more? There are now several countries in Europe that are spending a higher percentage of their GDP on defense than the United States, and leading them is Poland. And what is Poland doing?
Buying U.S. equipment, buying U.S. munitions, buying U.S. defense technology. And it just sends a message that we're strong, we understand the fight, and we'll outfight you if you challenge.
Challenge us. We can't show any weakness. Peace through strength. The best way to prepare to win a war is to prepare for a war so there is no war. Thanks, Carl.
Radio that makes you think. This is the Brian Kill Me Show. So, this is May, and May is Military Appreciation Month. And now it's time to meet somebody who we really appreciate her service, and we need her insight, Dr.
Sonia Stribling. As using the lesson she learned from the military as she was able to build through a $28 million coaching business. And she has been serving this country and now is giving back. And also, it would be a great idea to learn her story to maybe hit why you should make this your career too. Doctor, welcome.
Thank you, Brian. Thank you for having me. Great to see you.
So, for Military Appreciation Month, that's just not a phrase for you. That's what you hope the American people feel, right? Exactly, every day. Why did you join? Honestly, because I had a son to take care of, that's one.
And the second thing, it was just, I felt like it was my duty. Out of 12 children, eight of my siblings joined the military. They were so much older, and I didn't know this until I got older. But it was just something that we did. And what state did you grow up?
What state did you grow up in? What state? The state of Arkansas. In Arkansas. It's a patriotic state.
A lot of people from Arkansas joined the military. Absolutely, absolutely.
So, red, white, and blue? All the way through.
So, what did you get out of it? Out of the military, oh gosh, there's a lot. We can unpack this real quick. Leadership, for sure. I felt like I was always a leader anyway.
I played basketball. I've been played semi-pro basketball overseas. But even in college, high school, I played basketball. But the leadership and the way to communicate what the military taught me has changed the game for me, even in business to this day. What year did you join?
Gosh, let me think back to that. Ooh, 1993.
So, right after the Persian Gulf War. Yes. And what was it like in the military? Because we were starting to revitalize and modernize at that moment, right? What was it like for me as a woman?
What was it like for me as a woman of color? What was it like for me as a soldier? I can talk about all three, and they were all different. As a soldier, it was something that I was there looking at life differently. It wasn't like get up in the morning, go take a shower, and all of that.
Everything was strategized for you. Everything was on schedule. Everything was, everything was set in place for you. As a woman and as a woman of color, it was difficult. I'll be honest.
It was. Very difficult. I found myself in a lot of places sitting at boardroom tables where I was the only woman, and majority of the time I was the only woman of color. How were you treated? Differently.
Oh yeah, absolutely. But as a junior soldier, I felt it. But as I matured and became in the higher ranks, became a major and all of that, literally I was a soldier through and through.
So it wasn't as evident in front of everyone else. I would feel it every now and then from some of my junior soldiers until if they saw me in civilian clothes. And then when they realized what my rank was, it changed at that time.
So it was different. I would just say it was different. It was stressful at times. And a lot of times I wanted to get out of the military. Even though I served 21 years, there was not probably every five years.
I'm like, I'm getting out. And then I started thinking, I'm not going to be a part of the problem. I'm going to be a part of the solution.
Someone's watching somewhere who's going to want to join the military because it was the best thing that I ever done for my life. Right.
And even though you felt that there were some preconceived notions of being a woman in the military and acquiring this leadership and they just went. Yes. Well at what point did you say, okay, I'm just going to overcome it as opposed to leave it? I would say when I went from the rank of E five and went to officer candidate school, we call them 90 Day Wonders, where I had to go through this horrendous, I won't say horrendous training for 90 days. Both.
Both. Again, I'm going into another area where there's not a lot of women. I remember starting, there were probably 200 of us and about 25 women, maybe a little bit more. Only about 13 of us graduated. Right.
And when you graduated, how did you feel? I felt like I had just accomplished something. That was just the beginning, but I knew I had more work. But just because I went through the ranks of being enlisted and then coming over to being an officer, I still had more work to do because there were very few of us that were doing something like that. What were the skills you acquired that allowed you to overcome the bias that people might have towards a woman or a black woman?
One was how do you communicate? How you feel. You don't always have to be aggressive and yell and things like that. Because I saw my peers, it worked very well for the men, but when it was for us, it didn't work very well.
So I learned how to communicate and stand my ground and say what I needed to say without yelling, without screaming, even without cursing. There was just a certain stance that we have. Like you're standing up now. I saw you when we were watching, and I was like, that's the stance that we would normally have. You were just standing there with a very stoic face of, hey, I mean business right here.
But that was how to have community, effective communicator. Number two is how to lead. It was leading from the front, not the rear and not from the side. And it wasn't do as I do, do as I say, not as I do.
So I began to become that leader. If I'm asking you to do it, you better know that I'm going to be doing it before you so you can see that it can be done instead of saying just go do it on your own.
So there's like when coaches come into a room, sometimes they say, even though that's not really their style, they'll come in and take command of the room, maybe undress somebody in front of everyone, kind of set the tone. Yes. How did you set the tone?
Well, it was set as soon as I walked in a room. Most of the time, I'm the only woman. And I'm the woman in charge at that time.
So it was like, oh, wait. And especially if they saw, and Brian, this is, if I can share a little story, I have been in places and spaces where there are probably about 200 of us. We're in civilian attire, we are in suits and dresses and all of that. And everybody's, you know, just meeting. It's a meet and greet, per se, in the military with all the leaders.
And they don't necessarily know your rank because they just have your first name. They do that on purpose. People would assume that I was enlisted. Every single time. But because I was enlisted and I became an officer, it was always a different aura, I'm assuming that I put off.
I was very much, I would say, likable, but at the same time, it was a leadership style. And I would always get, ma'am, I'm sorry, I didn't know. You didn't know what. I didn't know you were a senior leader. And I don't know where that came from, but I wanted to make sure that that was something that not all women had to be faced with.
It's just a certain, I would say, process or procedure or communication style that you have. You know, it's interesting because Senator Tim Scott, when he was an advisor to the president, they became good friends. He might even be vice president, who knows? And he said, I go, what did you find out? When the president would say some things, it would create some controversy.
And he says it would be a, there would be some racial insensitivity. He didn't know he was being offensive. Yeah. Born. 77 years ago, in a different America, certain things would fly.
I'm not just talking about comedians. And he goes, you'd be racially sensitive. He goes, no, no, this is how a black person would interpret what you just said. Did you find that? That a lot of people weren't being mean spirited.
They were just being relatively Ignorant? I'm glad you said that word. I would say yes or no. I would say there were some that. Really understood, and that was the lay of the land from where they came from, whether they were in Arkansas or Chicago or they were in Oklahoma or wherever.
It was just something that they were accustomed to. And that some really didn't know, like they just didn't know, and they had to be educated on that. But once you're educated, there's some things that should change.
So you decided to get out in 2014? Yes. Why? It was time to come home to be a mom. I had three children.
I'd just gone through a divorce a few years prior, and they wanted to send me to yet another deployment. But I wanted to be at home with my children.
So I had to make a decision: are you going to continue and pin on the rank of lieutenant colonel, or are you going to go home and be a mom? And I made the decision to go home and be a mom. My son was at the University of Michigan playing football, and I wanted to be at games, and I couldn't get to my son that was in high school games, and I was a single parent.
So I made a decision like it's going to be about my family this time. They came home.
So then you decided to build this coaching business. Yes. Leadership coaching business. Yes. Yes.
Coaching and consulting, really helping individuals build an online platform or go outside of their nine-to-five and really walk into their purpose.
So you wanted to help them in their job or their life? Both, actually, both. I started in the leadership side of the house, actually, started on divorce coaching and then ended up first, it was leadership, and then we went over to divorce coaching because I had been through divorce and I found so many women, the same traits. And the techniques and strategies that I learned in the military, they were working very well for me in the civilian sector. And people would ask me, How are you able to overcome having a child at 15 years old, being raped and left for dead for 17, being in the military 21 years, knowing it's a male predominant workforce per se?
And I said, I really don't know, but I know the military has helped me a lot, even coming over to starting and building a $28 million company in 30 years.
So, what was that like growing up with so many kids in your family? It must have been good, having patriotism and military must be great. But you just said 15 years old? Yes. You were.
I had my first child, but they were so much older. My siblings are so much older than I am.
So I was growing up almost like I was the only child. The sibling closest to me is eight years older. Wow.
So it's almost like two families. They become almost your parent. Yes, pretty much. My oldest brother is 82 years old. He served his country as well for 26 years.
You were raped and left for dead at 17? Yes. And the the circumstances, how are you able to overcome that? Wow.
Oh, gosh. Great.
So, are you still thinking about it? I mean, no, I don't. Yeah, I did. I went through therapy. I went to therapy later on.
I didn't, that was not something we did in our culture back then. You don't talk about that. You dealt with it. And at that age, it was just like it just shaped the person that I was. But how did I overcome it?
Honestly, I picked up a basketball, if I can be honest with you. That took my mind off of what was going on. Then I joined the military and it gave me a legal right to fight. Right.
And so I did that and I overcame that just using the trauma and the things that I went through as a stepping stone to help me be better. It had to be a lesson learned. And I did learn a lot from my childhood.
So, at one point, at every point, especially for you, you have to say, okay, this is going to be my hindrance. This is my out. This is terrible. This is my out. This is terrible.
But I know I'm going to continue because you have goals. Yes. And you're not going to let an ugly situation you had no control of control those. Absolutely. I love how you said that goals and the ugly situation had a lot of ugly situations, but it wasn't necessarily the goals.
It was most people. Want to say it's resilience. I say endurance because endurance is different. Resiliency is like I'm just resilient, I'm going to overcome this. But endurance, I'm going to not just overcome it, I'm going to be better and I'm going to come back and help someone else who's been through the very same thing.
Great point.
Now, out of all that, you go to war. You're in Iraq. Yes. How did that challenge you that maybe you couldn't? The training could never prepare you for?
You can't prepare for having to account for For missing in action and killed in action, and having to notify family members of a 17 or 18-year-old person that just really is still a child, that they're not coming home. And if they're coming home, they're coming home in such a Per se, a body bag. That was a lot. And then you have soldiers that are working with you and working for you, that you're looking out for their well-being and all of that and their mental health and making sure they're okay. And at the same time, trying to protect your own.
That was a lot. My body came home 15 months later. Mentally, I did not.
So after that, I went through this roller coaster ride. And as a senior officer, that's not something you talk about. We don't talk about having post-traumatic stress disorder or a TBI or traumatic brain. You don't talk about that. That doesn't happen to us.
And I know I went through that. I didn't share what was going on, but I knew I was going through something. It was medication to wake up, medication to function, medication to go to sleep. And that in itself just took me on a journey of well-being, mental health. And that wasn't a conversation we had.
Right.
So, how did you figure that all into your coaching and maybe your motivational speeches? Later, when I decided that I was not going to let that be the dominant part of me, and it was my new normal. When you say it's It's your new normal of this is what it is, this is what I deal with. How do you go through that? Even dealing with the suicidal situations that I found myself in.
And I just use them as to better who I was and sharing it openly and very transparently to people and let them know that this does happen. This is a mental health awareness month as well, and just letting people know you can go through those things. And that's the reason why I wrote the book from the battlefield to the boardroom. That's the battlefield, physical battlefield, mental battlefield I was on. But the boardroom is where you decide your level of success and where you want to be.
Yeah, by the infinite desire to win, a woman's journey to infinite success in life, business, and career.
So, having said that, When people are thinking about you see recruiting is down all across the country, recruiters have their hands full in a way they never thought possible.
Some high schools are saying, I don't want any military here recruiting my students. What is your message? Since right now, signing up for the military is not in vogue, but yet there is a need. You know, when I was thinking about this, I believe recruiting's always been an issue. I mean, we always say every time there's a situation where at war, things are happening, recruiting is down.
But we also got to think about what we see, we're seeing on television. As a parent and having three sons, myself, and a bonus son, I remember my youngest son wanted to join the military until he, that last combat tour, his father and I had at that time. And he said, I don't want to do it. You're gone too much.
So recruiting is parents are looking at television. They're watching. They're knowing what's going on. And so if their child is coming to them, hey, I want to serve my country and they're asking them not to, not to do it because we're at war. We don't know where you're going to be.
We don't know what situation you're going to find yourself in. Come on, let's just be honest about that. Who wants to send their child off not knowing that they may not come back?
So that is a big deal. But I believe what the military can do, if I had some suggestions on it, we need to look at how are we really advertising the military. I know the Marines will come in, they have great uniforms. That's great. I almost joined the Marines myself simply because.
Them carrying a log on their shoulder. What young woman wants to carry a log? Me, that was me, but they were out to lunch, so I joined the United States Army, and I joined because I had to. I needed to get out of the small town that I was in. And so, what I would say for the military right now, let's look at what are the job offers that we're offering young people right now.
What can we offer them? AI is a big deal. I don't know if they put this in place, but that would be one thing they would look at because the young people these days are totally different, Brian, than when I came through. They're looking at life differently. They want a quick fix, they want to be a part of the now, they want to be a part of the evolution, and we got to give them something, not just going to war, which is a great thing.
I said, Yes, I raised my hand and I said, I solemnly swear I did that because I wanted to.
Nowadays, Young people are not really necessarily thinking about that's what I want to do. No, I hear that too, but I would love to see some positive commercials. Maybe someone like you in combat, some still pictures of that, and now in the boardroom, now a successful coach and saying what you just said here: the leadership I learned there, I couldn't have learned anywhere else. Absolutely. But we don't see any of those ads.
We see private foundations like Wounded Warriors, Folds of Honor, and Tunnel to Towers. And these people have been through hell and back, and they're getting help. Yes. But it's, but their perception is everybody comes back hurt, wounded, missing a limb. And I think it's the wrong perception.
Be all you can be. Where are those ads? Yes, that's the old school right there. The new school right now is like, I want to do it right now. And that would be a great idea.
I might have to look at that. How can I get on some of those commercials and show you?
Well, you should be on it. I mean, they should be doing your mini violence. Let's make that happen. Do you ever watch the ESPN in the middle of the night? I used to follow the UFC, but I stopped.
And then all of a sudden they catch up. I put on 90 seconds, I get to know a fighter. 90 seconds, I get to know a fighter. Oh, that guy, I saw that guy. Can you imagine if I?
I got 90s, like 60s to 90 seconds areas of you, other people, tell me your story, how it affected you. I think that's, you're not manipulating people. You're saying what the military could offer. That's a great idea because of out there. And that's probably why I'm so public about my life and what I've been through and having a military background.
21 years is not anything easy to sneeze at, and especially being a woman, but that is something really the military needs to look at. Dr.
Sonia Stribling, said it right? Yes. Stribbling. The brand new book is called From the Battlefield to the Boardroom: The Infant Desire to Win, A Woman's Journey to Infinite Success in Life, Business, and Career.
Sonia, great to meet you. Thank you so much. Thank you so much for having me. Back in a moment. It's Brian Killmead.
Breaking news, unique opinions. Hear it all on the Brian Kill Me Joe. Kim McCarthy said something last week that caught some people by surprise. He said that I never would have allowed myself to be saved by Democrats like Speaker Johnson. Look, I could say a couple of things about that.
Might as well say it. We hope Can't receive it. Kevin did tell people here in the building that he had made a deal with Pelosi and he thought that they would save him. By contrast, I didn't make any deals. I didn't have any conversations.
I didn't ask any Democrats to do anything at all. They voted their own conscience. I think what they voted, I think what you saw there, was a recognition of people on both sides of the aisle that. The country desperately needs a functioning Congress right now. Yeah, that is a little of the infighting that went on in the Republican Party.
You have Liz Cheney mocking Speaker Johnson for showing up in support of Trump. He answered that last hour. And now this is a little more of my exclusive interview with him. I asked him about Kev McCarthy coming out, who's a friend of the show, and said I never would allow myself to be saved by Democrats, and you heard his answer. Why?
Because Marjorie Taylor Greene, Thomas Massey, thought they should replace him. It's a joke. Nobody I know thought it was a good idea. Everyone knows that that's probably the best deal anybody could have gotten. At that point, in terms of military aid for Ukraine, Taiwan, Israel.
And beyond. I wish there was border stuff in it, but that's the reason you owed someone. You try to get a better deal next time. That's the way it's normally done.
Meanwhile, I just want to tell you: I'm going to have an opportunity to go on stage in the History Liberty and Laughs tour. I want everyone to join me in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, July 27th. Go to BrianKilmey.com, but before that, June 29th in Indianapolis, Indiana. It's a smaller theater, so get your tickets quickly. From the Fox News Radio Studios in Midtown Manhattan, it's the fastest-growing radio talk show.
Brian. In Kill Mead. Hi everyone, Brian Kilmee Cho coming your way. Thanks so much for listening. Got a big hour.
Standing by is Governor Jeff Landry. He is a governor of Louisiana. He was just with the speaker yesterday. He speaks highly of the governor and Jamie Lissow. Jamie LaSalle is one of America's finest comedians.
And the bad news for Jamie is he has a lot of divorce material, and now he's got engaged. And I just don't know if he's thinking this through. I don't know if the relationship's going to work, but what about his material? And I Probably want to talk to him. I think that I'm going to have to be pretty direct with him to start, and then I'll let him be funny again.
We'll talk about all that. There is no court today, so there's no breaking news and transcripts to try to disseminate in real time. There's going to be tomorrow, it's going to be hugely impactful because Michael Cohen remains on the stand, and because we understand prosecution says he's basically our last guy. And that's our case. And so many different opinions about what kind of case this is.
I don't see it. I don't even see this is an embarrassment to the country. This is from a civilian perspective. The jurors, evidently, if this matters, they have no relationship. They seem to be very distant from each other.
There's no sense of getting along, which jury expert says that's significant. They can make their own decisions. They're not going to be bullied, but two of them are lawyers. Let's bring in Governor Jeff Landry now. Hey, Governor, welcome.
Brian! Good morning. You know you still owe me uh a signed copy of your book. I do. I know I gotta get it to you.
I don't know, I just don't wanna I just I just don't want to think that I'm bribing you for my support and for you to be on the show. I don't want to know the scandal in America. Yeah. No, don't you worry. Listen, I brag on the book all the time.
Believe me, it's no scandal. No scandal. But anyhow, look, I so appreciate you giving me some more time today to visit with you and the listeners out there. Glad to be on the program again.
Well, I'll tell you what. How did you guys do? I know I have a. Um I have a relative over in Tulane. And they had some protests.
Most of them were outside. When you look at these campus protests, big story on FoxNews.com today, the China money is behind it, behind a lot of it. And they're taking advantage of charities and morgan organizations to support the unrest in our country. What campus gave you the most trouble, if any, in Louisiana?
Well, look, I'm going to tell you something. Big shout out goes to the president of Tulane. Big shout out goes out to the Chief of Police of the New Orleans Police Department, the Tulane Police Department, and our Louisiana State Police. Within Seventy-two hours. Of the protests setting up, going, it's done, it's over.
There are no more protests on Tulane's campus. As far as I know, there's really no more protests anywhere in any of the campuses in Louisiana. They tried to start one at LSU, and our great patriots at LSU went out there and just told them why they had a better protest than them. right? We we're just we're just not going to tolerate Hamas coming out here.
And like you said, I mean, it's not a shocker that China is behind these protests. China's behind the border.
Okay, China's behind the border, China's behind the protests, China's behind all of the nefarious activity that has infiltrated this country. Over the last couple of decades. And we all know why. And for some reason, Americans are just slow to wake up to that. But hopefully, at some point in time, they'll realize that.
Um Just just in, Trump agrees to debate Biden on CNN on june twenty-seventh. Why would he agree to do it on CNN? Oh my goodness. I mean, I know the president wants to I mean has he watched CNN? I mean the whole key has got to be the moderators.
And what is he gonna how is he gonna get a fair shot at CNN? Oh. I can't believe that was just breaking. I didn't see that one. Yeah, it just came across.
One minute ago, came across. I'll let you go do it. Listen, if he calls me, I'm going to say, I think you should ask Brian Kilman to be part of the debate coaching team, Mr. President. Go get him.
Right.
I would say this: the president does, I think they're going to do a thing. They demand each other's mics get shut off when the other one's talking. I think if the president was going to debate Joe Biden, let him talk. Jot down all the inaccuracies, but let him talk. Because the more he talks, the more he makes no sense.
And that's sadly the truth. It's not such mission to disagree. He just contradicts himself, makes things up, and I think that'll sell the story.
Well, you know what else? He could do he I agree with you. He could just let buy him something and then after buying stops. Oh All President Trump has to do is just talk about. The great things he did.
He can like just ignore Joe Biden and just say, Let me tell you what I did. And he can just walk through the economic indicators, the way we, you know, just all of the great things. The fact that he had basically world diplomacy had a complete truce. We we weren't involved in any other any new conflicts. He had Putin backed up.
I mean, like, he could just go down the list and just kind of like ignore Joe Biden right after that. Let him talk and then just go through all of the great things he did in four years. I to me, that's it. That's it in a nutshell. Right.
You did such a great job.
So I want to talk about a couple of things that matter to your state of Louisiana. Number one, you had your National Guard on the border. And they're going to pull them off in June. How taxing has it been? That's not easy terrain, not great living conditions.
What role did they play? Listen, they played an unbelievable role.
Okay, and let me just start off by saying the trip we made to the border last week. I took the First Lady with the First Lady in Louisiana has been to the border more. than Kamala Harris.
Now just I just put that into perspective, okay? But the the the the National Guard that we sent, I think we had 13 states that have sent. Troops. to eight Texas. on this invasion that's going on.
And what we found, Ryan, is that those troops are making a difference. The number of interactions of people trying to cross the border where National Guard soldiers are located and stationed. has fell dramatically.
Okay. Which, by the way, proves the point that if you build a wall, seal the border, we don't have this problem. And now the big thing is, is what happens after June?
Now I was talking to Governor Abbott. I'm waiting for him to send us a nice letter. And I'm going to tell you this, too. Let me bring up there's a big shout out that goes to our state legislature. Because without their help and the ability to appropriate the money, It costs the state of Louisiana a million dollars a month to send 50 soldiers.
Now, this should be.
Now, they just gave Ukraine 60 billion, okay? But they could give us. Like a million a month. If they gave each of the thirteen states a million a month, we could send we could oh man, oh my god, we could send over six hundred soldiers. But but you can't make arrests, though, right?
No, but let me tell you what it does do. It creates a deterrent, it creates a reporting. Because what happens is as as they see people coming across and as they're not able to deter them from coming across, they can call Texas DPS, who then under current Texas law can Arrest them in certain instances, like if they're in Eagle Park. That's safe property. They're gonna arrest us.
Okay, and so meaning Texas DPS, not the National Guard Guardsman. But what it does do is that it helps us to control who's coming in and who's not. Other than that, we have no eyes. We have no ears. We don't know what's going on.
I mean, I said it all along. This is like you living 10 years in your neighborhood without a front door. I mean d take what your house would look like if you didn't have a front door in the neighborhood maybe in your neighborhood.
So the It makes a difference. It does. But the executive orders that might be coming show that even the President realized there could be a problem. There are about twenty-three Democrats who realize there could be a problem. I think they should all realize there's a problem.
But the other thing I want to talk to you about in Louisiana is oil and gas. How has this administration affected you in the revenues? In your In your region.
Well, I mean, listen, this this administration Has picked up the mantle of an unavashing trying to kill the oil and gas industry in this country. And of course, Louisiana kind of becomes ground center to that. I mean, as Attorney General, I fought the Biden administration numerous times. The new Attorney General, Liz Murrow, is doing the same. They're trying to stifle drilling in the Gulf of Mexico.
They're trying to stifle drilling on land. All of those things have increased inflationary costs to consumers. Again, it's why when you go out, you ask voters what's the most important topics out there: it's immigration. We just talked about because they know all the poison and the trouble that's coming across the border. Number two, inflation, because they're feeling in their pocketbooks, they're feeling it at the gas tank.
These are all. Self-induced Pain. This is caused by the Biden administration's poor policies. And to me, that's the greatest asset that Donald Trump has. is that his greatest asset is that he was the person who delivered on promises.
And when he delivered on those promises to America, all American citizens, irrespective of who they were, benefited. We are talking to Governor Jeff Landry of Louisiana.
So I want you to hear the President talk about the economic gains America has made under him, Cut 25. You've made incredible progress. 15 million new jobs recorded. Historic low levels of unemployment, record small business creation. In fact, Loans from our Small Business Administration, AANHPI Small Businesses, up by 44 percent compared to the previous administration.
Because we extended child care tax credit during the pandemic, which not one Republican voted for, I might add, we cut Asian American child poverty by nearly 25 percent to a record low. The lowest cost across the board, we finally beat Big Farm and gave Medicare the power to negotiate prescription drug prices. We also capped into the $35 a month down from about $400 a month for seniors in Medicare, including for millions in this community. Our reforms not only save lives, Guess what? They say the taxpayers $160 billion.
On his jobs, they were mostly recovered from COVID as COVID subsided and the shots came in. Number two is the jobs. He says Trump lost all these jobs. It was because COVID came in. He doesn't try to figure that in.
And he talks about job growth. Yeah, the job numbers are good, but most of them are government jobs and a lot of them are part-time. What have you felt in Louisiana? S Well, listen, 85,000 are those JAS IRS agents that are coming looking for you.
Okay, everybody knows, yeah, exactly. That's what I mean. It's like you, the listeners that are out there, 85,000. Remember, that's he's the guy that wants to put 85,000 new IRS auditors out there to go out there and basically harass people. You know, we are feeling it in Louisiana because we're an energy-dominant state.
And you know, I'll tell you something else, too, Ryan. I said it's so interesting. Is that as they put pressure? On on on the energy industry. Again, it increases the cost to the average American.
It increases the cost to the middle class. I tell you what, he wants to pile up a statistic, go look and see how much growth occurred in the middle class under Joe Biden.
Okay, I would I would bet I would bet anecdotal there's zero. The hero, right? Hero middle class group. It's all about class warfare with them. And look, I think the polling shows.
I mean, look at the polling in the swing states right now. I mean, that's why the Democrats are freaking out. Because what they've done is they've driven the country, finally driven the country clean down into the ground. And average Americans are waking up and saying, whoa, what happened here? Best advertisement yet for Donald Trump.
So I talked to a guy that is very fond of you, Speaker Mike Johnson yesterday, was over at the Speaker's office. He was in the morning, he was here in New York, showing support for the President of the United States, the former president of the United States, who he wants to be the next president of the United States. Here's what he said about the court case, cut to. Michael Cohen, believable on the stand, he says he's seen the light and now he wants to rid the world of Donald Trump.
How's it playing in Louisiana? I mean, we know known liars sometimes on the stand of good witnesses. Sammy the Bull, I always bring up that. He got John Gotti. He also said, by the way, I've murdered two dozen people.
So your thoughts about how this is playing. Mark, I tell you what, if the case was in Louisiana, it'd be open and shut. Mike Johnson's one of the most brilliant lawyers, especially on constitutional issues I've ever met. I so loved working with him both when I was in Congress and then he was in the State House and then as Attorney General and he was in Congress. He is just An unbelievable, even-key leader that we actually need in that house right now.
But I can tell you. If this case was in Louisiana, it'd be open and shut. um that and he's right there's no way that that that that a person Uh, like Coe should be able to testify, and then the jury believe him. Like, how it it and you know what it further does? It all it only further makes a mockery.
of our justice system. This whole trial, everything that the Democrats have done, have completely eroded the confidence in the justice system. by the American people and mind they've done unbelievable damage to it. Yeah, I mean, that's what we're looking at to see what happened with that verdict and how it's going to affect the race. Governor, thanks so much for your time.
Governor Jeffrey Landry, have a fantastic week, and I appreciate it. Teleborn, Louisiana said hi, and I will get you Andrew Jackson, the miracle of New Orleans. My book, I just want it signed. I've read the book like twice, so I just need it signed. You got it.
Or you could just bring it to New York. Yeah, okay. I could do that. Maybe I maybe you do the Yohole if I'll come to New York. All right, where where's your office?
In Vaton Rouge. All right.
Wednesday, I will get your God address. Don't you worry. You got it. All right.
That's right. I was there. Bobby Jindo was governor. I remember doing a feature there.
Well, come down. You can do the radio show right here. We'll let you do it in the Capitol at the mansion. I mean, it'd be huge. I'm telling you, you will not leave hungry or thirsty.
I know that. Thank you so much, Governor. Have a great day. 1-866-408-7669. I'll squeeze in some calls, I promise.
Also, BrianKillme.com. This way I can get your comments. It goes to my email, and I'm able to go through it. Don't move. Newsmakers and newsbreakers.
Here at first on the Brian Killmead Show. The fastest three hours in radio. You're with Brian Kilmead.
Donald Trump lost two debates to me in 2020. It since then he hadn't shown up for debates.
Now he's acting like he wants to debate me again.
Well, make my day, pal. I'll even do it twice.
Let's pick the dates, Donald. I hear you're free on Wednesdays.
Yeah, that is Joe Biden surprising many people. Maybe he wants to get over the inflation numbers, which shows inflation is not coming down. Maybe he wants to change the narrative after the Siena New York Times polls show him trailing everywhere except Wisconsin, and that's within the margin of error. But there'll be a debate.
Now we understand. The first debate is going to be June 27th. And guess what? The debate is going to be on CNN. I don't know why I would give in to that.
It's crazy.
So we'll make sure to cover that, obviously. Also, on that very date, I hope it's not a conflict, but regardless, I'll have a chance to see you in person, and that'll be And that'll be on June 29th. uh in Indianapolis, and then go get tickets at BrianKilme dot com. And after that, I'm talking about being on stage, talking about all history, American history, a red, white and blue evening. I'll also be uh in July.
on July twenty seventh.
So that'll be great.
So the debates will be coming up in June. Another one's supposed to come up in September. They totally sidestepped the con the Presidential Commission on debates. And I don't have a problem with that. Number one, I don't know how they're picking Their moderators.
We all know there's a bit of a scandal there, number one. And number two is, it's too late. I don't I I think that June is too early. No doubt about it. But I think July, August.
Is more like it. I mean, I'd go late August, September. I don't know if June helps anybody. Because you got to go through your conventions and everything. But I would not wait past September 1st or very much more because you know that people do their early voting and there's going to be a lot at stake.
Also, when you do it early, you don't even know what the issue is going to be. I guarantee you, we think we know what's going to happen in November. We think it's going to be over the border, maybe Ukraine, what's happening in Israel, what's going on with inflation or deficit. But there'll be something else coming up. I am sure about it that will get everybody's attention.
I mean, maybe a court case will try to squeeze one of them in. It'll be terrible, but that's true. What's also happening is. Joe Biden's got to get all his policies out there. I had an executive order at the border.
Don't talk to me about the border. I'm going to have an executive order. When it comes to China, I'm going to have 100% tariffs on China. I'll try to take that away. I'm going to get weapons to Israel and Ukraine.
Well, he's trying to try to straighten out that whole thing by the time they get down to the debates. Donald Trump does not have to change with the times, he's him. What happened is the times came to him. From the border to building up our Defense Department to trade deals, to being pro energy, all energy, not just environmentally, hardly sought out energy. Brian killed me, Chan.
The talk show that's getting you talking. You're with Brian Kilmead.
Jim Jordan, evidently going from district to district, contentious places, using his popularity.
Some say that he's saying the ground up, should you get the majority to take a run at Speaker? How would you feel about that? What's your relations with Jim Jordan like? Jim's like a brother to me. I mean, we're very close.
We've traveled together. Our wives are very close. I mean, he is I've described Jim as the OB1 to my Luke Skywalker, okay?
So there's never any competition, no daylight between us. Jim's a great leader. I respect him. I love him. I tried to get him elected Speaker before it fell to me.
So I'm not concerned about that at all. What I've got to focus on right now, Brian, is governing, getting us to November, growing the majority. I intend to be the Speaker into the next Congress because I think continuity is very important.
So that was handling another controversial issue.
So I handled three of them. Kevin McCarthy says, I never would have accepted Democratic votes to keep my job. He handled that. He says he would have because he reached out to Ned Spelosi and thought it was implied that he would be saved by Democrats. Number two, he also handled Liz Cheney, ripped him for going to follow and support Donald Trump.
And now the other one was: does Jim Jordan want to be Speaker? Would he be able to do that? He's going out and helping out Republicans that are in tough battles, and he's trying to up his street cred there. And that was the answer.
So that's the answer he got.
So that's a little my, the whole thing's got to be on a podcast. I think you'll like it. It's lighthearted, but most of all, we do cover some substantive issues. Like I just mentioned, the Jim Jordan thing. The other thing to keep in mind, too, the trial was yesterday, so people were weighing in on Trump trial with Michael Cohen finally getting cross-examined for at least the afternoon about how it went.
Here's what Jonathan Turley found out as he watched the review. We read the transcript and saw the readout. Cut seven. One of the most impressive things about the last two days is it does appear that Cohen may have committed perjury again. You know, his explanations on various points do not strike some of us as true.
You know, when he said that he surreptitiously taped the president, which just blasts away ethical obligations, he said he was doing that really to help Trump and to keep David Pecker honest. It makes no sense. That is, it's just no one can get their head around that. But that was just one of a number of moments where you really have to be impressed with this guy who really has shown throughout his life that he'll only tell the truth if he has no alternative. Right.
And what did he do? Because he literally contradicted himself from the time the office was raided in 2017 to when he got in jail in 2019, and then becoming a prosecution witness somewhere in between to lighten his sentence and get him to house arrest, which he's also complained about. Then, after he cut the deal, he says, Yeah, I signed it, but I didn't, you know, I didn't really admit to anything. I didn't do anything wrong, which shows. You insincerely through perjury.
Uh you perjured yourself. That's what he's saying. Here's more from Charlie Cut Eight. What I think was the most amazing thing today, the prosecutors said that they'll rest their case after Cohen's testimony is done. There's only one problem.
Nobody has established the elements of any crime. The government has not even stated or explained why listing these payments as legal expenses is not correct. They haven't put on any material evidence to support those elements. Most judges would be insulted for prosecutors to say, well, that's a rap, without ever making the basis for a case.
So the judge is going to have this motion for a directed verdict. And I think any judge in good faith would grant that motion. If he sends this to the jury, he is sending a case to a jury where no crime has been stated and even core factual issues remain very much in doubt.
So, Jonathan Charlie doing breaking this down legally, and I wanted to lay that groundwork there perfect for my next guest who spends most of his time in and out of a courtroom, loves the legal profession, watches all the court shows on TV, hasn't really been following this case, and doesn't really pay that much attention. It's more of a filler while he thinks about different parts of his material. The perfect guest Jamie Liss has.
So, Jamie, just to expand on this case, just pick up where Charlie left off. Yeah, so basically, you know, Ditto. Right.
Same thing. What he said. He's really you've always been on the same page as him? Yeah. Do you see any weakness in the argument?
Can I tell you what this reminded me of? I was on morning radio once and we had to go to these meetings, and I was in this meeting. You mean regular? You were a radio. I was a host of a radio show and I was the comedian.
And I was in this meeting and there were all these people talking. And Brian, I was not listening. I was not listening. And I forgot what I was thinking about, but I was just not listening. And the guy talks and he looks at me.
I'm an adult at this time. I'm an adult male. And he goes, Jamie, would you like to repeat to everyone what I just said? And I said It sounds like things are going pretty good here. That's a true story.
They were laughing. I was not listening. Yeah, I got a pretty good laugh, and I guess I nailed it. Right.
Yeah, so I agree with everything.
So about this court case, are you surprised you haven't been gi granted a seat in the case? After all, you do go in Gutfeld like twice a month at least. I'm very upset. I love a court case. Right.
What would you do there all day? I can't get enough of a core case. I can't get. I probably sitting there. Yeah, I would gather, you know, of course.
No phones. I would, no phones? No phones. I would learn to read. Right.
Can I bring a book? Can I bring a Kindle? You can bring a Phonics album. Is it legal? Or is there something illegal about if I go boring, like to get like something started?
Like when there's a witness, like boring. Do you know, Pete? Do you know if that is that allowed? I think they make a special exemption for that. As long as you have a sign, too, like it's a sporting event.
Okay, that's what I heard. And if you have like two or more people join you, you know what else I wish they would do to make court more exciting? No. I've really been on this stance for a while. You know, when you watch like Trump or something, and he goes, I'll plead the fifth, I'll plead the fifth, I'll plead the fifth, or so, whoever, whoever pleads the fifth.
So boring. Why aren't there 10 alternatives for I plead the fifth just for the just for the fifth? Like it's a different way. Yeah, like you go like, hey, fifth, I plead.
Well, I was thinking more like you go, hey, were you aware at any time of classified documents in the White House? And I go, wouldn't you like to know? Right? Like a bunch of different. Yeah, you get to choose from.
It means the same thing, but for the viewer, you go, oh, I wonder which one he'll use. How about this one? Beats me. Beats me is perfect. Right, yeah.
Beats me is perfect. And then you go, Oh, this is great. Like, I wonder which one he'll use. Right, and that would be great. And it's almost like the intentional walk.
Now in baseball, they just go, just take first base. We're going to stop playing this game. Yeah. So, you don't hope they do that. I think the fifth is very frustrating unless you need to take it, and it's you personally.
But for other people, I'd just like to see him answer the question. Such a great point. It's only not frustrating for the guy in the hot water. You know what's funny? My fiancé, I mean, she took the fifth last night until today.
I'm still wondering where she stands.
So, she has not answered. Yeah, she took she pled the fifth. She goes, I'd like to take a night off of talking.
Okay, right. It would have been better if she was like, Wouldn't you like to know? Like, again, if I could play a role in your relationship, clearly beats me, or wouldn't you like to know? I'd let you know.
So, James pleaded other. Other stuff? Do they ever go I plead the third? Tony the fifth. Right.
Yeah. Um.
Sorry. Right.
If you want to go through all the amendments, it really is going to help the show. Right.
So, Jamie, I brought this up earlier without you here. It really made no sense to my audience. I'm sure you thought about this: that you're going to become the newly married comedian instead of the divorced comedian, and there might not be as much funny stuff there. Is this woman worth your career? I would say this, Brian.
You as you can imagine. You're not the first one to bring this up to me. This is on the internet. And some guy was like: if you stopping a loser. Will you your jokes be less funny?
And I go, Yeah, I hope so. I hope so. You'll sacrifice some laughs. We got, I swear, I got in a discussion. Me and my fiancé, I love that we fought.
I never fought with my exes where it didn't work. We fight sometimes, but I think it's good. And every time we get in a really bad argument, I think, you know what? If it this ever ends? I'm gonna crush you on Godfault.
Excuse me. I go, this is going to be great. It's in the back of my mind. I go, I am going to be such a loser. Because I had her.
Right.
I go, this is going to be great. And so I think people. I think I'm still, you know, I'm still broke. I still make fun of me because I divorced the kids. And I think there's still a lot left of me that's mockable.
And I also think she's out of my league, which is a whole different name. Let me give you an example. You're not dressed great. You can make fun of the fact that you just never dress well. Yeah.
Somebody on the way here called me Nordstrom's Wreck. What does that mean? Not good. I think it means I went to Nordstrom's Wreck or something. I did not know that.
Yeah, I'll be honest with you. I had a kid thing earlier. I'm very self-conscious right now because I had a, I just walked in here. I had like a kid thing I had to take care of, and so I didn't put on my normal, you know. I like to.
You want to tell me what it's about? It was actually a kind of serious thing. He was trying to buy gems for that game, Blasterman. And so. I dropped everything.
It's an iPad. You've never heard any of that? No, no one has. It's stupid. It was a waste of time.
It was the dumbest thing. I just, when I'm away from home, I drop almost everything to do the smallest things.
Well, that's great because they're in Alaska. They're in Alaska. Right.
A couple of things. Usually, you know the one thing about you, no regrets about showing up late. I mean, you really don't mind. Like in fact, like I had to wave to you through three windows. Yeah.
Right.
I just wave you like I wave and you wave back and I'm like, Can you come in? We're not we and while I'm talking, I have to wave you in and when you walk in, it's not like, Hey, it won't happen again. Because you know it will happen again. I was going to say will happen again, but I realize people don't say that. And then you go, why were you late?
And I go, I plead the fifth. But here's the thing, dude. I feel like it's similar to me getting engaged. Like, if I show up on time to your radio show, does that ruin my brand? That's true.
Right? Right, absolutely. Yeah, again, we got to make sure that you never hit your goals or reach your potential. Can I showing up on time would get you too close? At risk of ruining.
A bit. Do you want to know why honestly I was late? I got stuck. I think because I do Guttfeld so much, people like I get into the, I probably shouldn't think. It's taping?
So you can get the taping mode, which is approximate. I get into the building a lot, and people think I work here. And so people think I have a badge. And so sometimes it takes me a minute to get it because I'll get walked in rubber.
So today it was like I had to go through the real stuff and I wasn't, I didn't take extra time for that.
So a couple of things. I remember there was one guy. Do you know a guy? I forgot his name that reads minds. He can see dead people.
Isn't it weird how exceptional his skills are? He can actually read minds. You can't even remember his name, and he told it to you. I know, he did, really. Is it?
Is he a mentalist or he sees that he could see people around you? He doesn't see their faces. He sees things enough to.
So I remember one time he was late. The train he was on was late, and he was late for his appearance, and he, unlike you, was upset about it. Right? So he really could not. See dead people because he couldn't clear his mind.
Wow.
And now, is your mind clear? I mean, are you laid and disheveled? Because I'm not disheveled physically, but mentally. Can you participate in this thing? I think physically and mentally.
I'm a little bit rattled, but I feel good. Talking to you, it's always easy. Right.
A lot of times people want to come early because they get a chance to talk to me off camera. You have no interest in talking to me off mic. If the camera's on, if the mic is on, we can have a great relationship. I'm all in. Yeah, but if not.
We went to dinner once. I recorded the whole conversation. You're absolutely right. You and Mike. I could go.
Yeah, I feel like I really have to maximize my time. Like, even when I was on morning radio, I like to be in the car driving away as the neon went out of the on-air sign. I want to be. Out in the rain, as it's no personal, no small talk. No, I'm just not, yeah.
A couple of things. Tom Brady, did you? I have this theory. And I don't think Guffel Dean brought it up yet. Maybe he has.
And I opened up a Saturday show, the One Nation show that you watch every Saturday night. It's kind of screwed up your relationship because she wants to go out, this fiancé of yours, and you say no. Brian's out. Until I learn how to work for TVR, I have no choice. Kill me comes first.
Right.
Kill me comes first. So I believe the cancel coach is almost over. I mean, Rear View Mirror comedians deserve most of the credit. Here's a little of what really showed me this. Let's listen.
Brady, five-time Super Bowl MVP, most career wins, most career touchdowns. You have seven rings.
Well, eight now that Giselle gave hers back, but. Tom is afraid of the Giants, which is why Kevin Hart is hosting tonight. I mean, let's be honest. Your best years are behind you, Tom. The Super Bowls.
Josie L. Your movie career, it's all done. It's all done.
So they just went after him. I mean, you had Edelman go up there and goes, I know I'm a Jew, and no one can believe I'm Jewish, and I'm going to give jokes just to black people and it's a white guy up there. All the stuff that we were told, well, let's leave that to Norman Lear and All in the Family in the 1970s. It was back, and it was probably the most watched thing on Netflix, maybe ever, live. I believe it was.
Every big name was there.
So, do you agree with me that we've turned the corner? And maybe Dave Chappelle did it when he said, I refuse to be canceled. And the management stood up at Netflix. I think you're right. Quick shout out.
That was my friend. The first voice was Nikki Glazer, my friend who I've read. I just messaged her with yesterday. Yeah, she's blowing up. I think she was like the funniest one on there.
I'm a little bit biased, but I feel like she crushed it. I thought her and Andrew Schultz had the perfect, almost the perfect set. Yeah. Did you see him? Yeah, he's.
Amazing. And for a roast, those two are also that's right in their wheelhouse, those guys, as far as being on the edge. I think you're right. And I feel like it's when money becomes The issue whoa the go woke, go broke is a real thing. People, this is what they want to see.
The audience has spoken. And I think for a while, television and all the crazy, hey, we're gonna put this character in the background just to appease this group. I think you can only do that for so long. Until the audience catches up. I think it takes a minute for them to realize the audience isn't.
Well, I think you can run on fumes for it seems like they did it for years. And then at some point, you can lose the grasp you had on your audience. Like a network. You know, what used to be a network, like a CBS, ABC, NBC, can actually lose their grip on what people watch. And we got Netflix that at first was like, What's this silly thing?
If you don't want me in your game, I'll create my own game and it'll be better. That's right. And no one wants to go watch your game. That's right. Jamie's going to stick around because he has no choice.
He has to apologize in the break and then he's going to come. I don't think he is. I personally don't think he is. And Jamie, you're going to give me your dates when you're going to do stand-up. Are you not quitting, right?
Oh, no, I'm not quitting.
Okay, good. We'll have your dates. Back in a moment. Learning something new every day on the Brian Kill Me Show. He's so busy, he'll make your head spin.
It's Brian Killmade. Rare agreement. I brought this up to Will Kane. I brought it up to Ari Fleischer. These guys really went to college, paid attention, and they thought I was way ahead of the game by saying cancel culture is over.
But, Jamie, you're now my favorite, Jamie Lissow, because you agree, you think we've turned the corner, and comedians deserve most of the credit. I do. And I think there's not that like, I think there's so many gatekeepers. That we can find a place to go. Like you said, we can go somewhere.
There's other places to go. People are becoming, I feel like the new goal as a comedian, and it's happening faster and more often. It used to be like, oh, I want to be on a TV show on a network. That's no longer the goal. The goal is now to be uncancelable.
That is the goal. And you can do it with a podcast, you can do it by being on Netflix or Hulu. And I feel like my goal. Brian, is to be as uncancelable as a planet fitness membership. I would like, do you know what a cancel your planet fitness membership?
You have to go in, you have to find a manager. And you have to say I'm a lazy ass three times in front of everybody, and then they will cancel it. Give me a bad example. You're absolutely right, though. All right, so.
You went on to Gutfeld and I I think I saw the appearance when he was like, Andy, everything's about divorce, about divorced dad, you're lonely and broke. And now you have a different line of questioning and you had to bring it up on Gutfeld. Yeah, yeah. I don't know if I told you this yet, but so I got engaged last weekend. And so.
Small affair, you know, small thing, just kind of private situation. I go on Gufeld, and for some reason, in the middle of a segment, it was about Drew Barrymore interviewing Kamala Harris. Do you remember that? She got really close to her. And I said, just out of nowhere, without planning it, I said, Greg, I proposed to my girlfriend this weekend, and I didn't get as close as Drew Barrymore got to Kamala Harris.
And he goes, What? Are you? Are you is this a joke? What did she say? And I go, Oh, she said yes.
And he goes, Wow, does your ex-wife, did you tell your ex-wife? And I go, Yeah, just now on your TV show. And so I'm going home and I go, Wow, that was unexpected that I did that. I didn't expect to do that. And I go, I wonder if I should have asked my.
Girlfriend, if that's okay, or what she'll think.
So I call her up and I go, I just said we're engaged on Gutfeld. And she goes, I haven't told anybody. And I go I go, you have three hours. Till this airs. I'm very, and she goes, No, I'm like, that makes me so happy.
Like, that's, I'm almost, she was like overjoyed that I would say it on. National TV. And so she goes, I got to get. And then she goes, I have an idea. What if I don't call everybody?
What if I tell everybody, tune in at 10 p.m. to Fox News? Jamie's going to say something. I'd like you guys to hear it. That's perfect.
I won't even tell.
So she goes, You're going to, you know, we're all excited. She told like 50 people, right? And so, do you know where the story goes? Do you know what happened?
So at about 9:59 p.m., one minute before Guthfeld airs, I get a call from Greg Gutfeld. I go, what's up, man? He goes, hey, just quick note, want to let you know we're not showing the. Godfrey, tonight we're going to show Columbia protests because we're covering it. We told all our friends and family, and they're all like, why are we watching?
Is Jamie going to come out of a tent? What is this? But then it aired the next night. Right.
We say we aired it. That's scary. Imagine that, like, Jamie's protesting in Clubby. Jamie got into Club. We told him.
