So forget everything you thought you knew about EVs and turn the extraordinary into something truly electrifying. There's joy in every journey. Exactly halfway gone. Dead center of our work week. And you know, going into this weekend for a lot of people, it spells the start of vacation. And really that's the case for most of our summer weeks. But it's a big deal next week because we're on the cusp of July 4th. How?

How in the world? Seriously. I have no idea how the time has gone so fast. But it's flying by in 2024. Lots on the calendar, which I think is part of it for me, for the hubs. We've got multiple trips to Texas, including one next week. So we'll be out for half the week.

And then the following week, my brother celebrates a milestone birthday. We'll be out for half that week as well. We're spending all of our vacation time outside of Hawaii. So I'm not complaining. But a lot of our vacation time this year is spent on family events.

But I would rather spend them on family events than anything else. So July will be a lot of fun heading into this coming Friday for people who are going to take off. Maybe their companies give them both the fourth and the fifth off because it's a Thursday, Friday.

Well, then you've got people who are taking advantage of that and are getting out of Dodge. I did hear that the busiest days and times on the road will be Thursday afternoon. I thought people might leave earlier, but I guess, Jay, if you're leaving on Thursday and wrapping around for a long weekend or you're leaving on Thursday and being gone a full week plus, if you already have Thursday, Friday off and then the weekend, you might take the next week as well, right, for vacation. So we'll see. But the heaviest travel days are supposed to be Thursday afternoon and then Monday.

So I think for a lot of people, yeah, that's what I thought, too. But maybe people aren't going to take Wednesday off instead. They get out of Dodge on Thursday, something along those lines.

Maybe they're not early risers. But yes, Thursday and then Monday for the return trip. So lots of long weekends as part of your summer plans. I just know that typically I enjoy working weekends, not weekends, sorry, holidays, especially going into holiday weekends because we get such a different audience that doesn't always hear us.

A lot of people in the car, but not this year. I can't very well say to the hubs, hey, sorry, I'm going to work and you go ahead and do the family event. Also, I don't want to.

Priorities change a little bit when you've got peeps in your lives and I've got two families now, which is kind of cool. It's After Hours with Amy Lawrence. It is the hump show that has nothing to do with this week.

Don't you worry. We're here all the way through this week and you can find us. Send your questions for Ask Amy anything about 30 minutes from now. That is on our show. Twitter Twix X. I can't call it X. I cannot.

I refuse. But on our show Twix, which is the closest I'll get at Amy after hours, just look for the bright orange box. It's also on my account and then our Facebook page to after hours with Amy Lawrence named after the show.

Super easy. It's our YouTube channel. It's our podcast. We try to keep it simple. The whole KISS.

Keep it simple. Stupid. That works for us. 8 5 5 2 1 2 4 2 2 7 8 5 5 2 1 2 4 CBS. We're getting ready for free agency in the NBA. In fact, the draft is Wednesday, Thursday. So you've got your primetime first round on Wednesday evening. We'll talk about it.

Probably not the whole show because it's not that interesting, but we'll talk about it tomorrow night. And then it continues on Thursday afternoon. Free agency begins a few days after that. So we're about to get to the silly season, if you will, for the NBA. And one of the major questions is LeBron James and his future. JJ Redick just now seeing the paint dry in his office if he wanted a different color. They had to redo his office and to paint his office.

He's probably not even moved in yet. And I don't know what involvement he will have with the draft board. But it is interesting to think about Steve Kerr, who also took over as a head coach in the Western Conference after doing different roles.

Right. He was an executive following his playing career. Well, he was talking to Jim Rome about JJ Redick with the Lakers.

JJ is going to be great. I mean, he's smart as hell. He's been in the league for so long.

He understands how this league operates. Obviously, there's a learning curve for everybody. But, you know, each one of us has our own unique set of circumstances that we deal with. And I was given a golden opportunity. No pun intended when I became the Warriors coach in 2014 with a talented young roster. But also, incredible support and ownership from Bob Myers and Joe Lacob. So, we are all, as coaches in the NBA, we're all kind of dependent on the talented character of our players and the support that we get from upstairs.

So, everyone has a unique set of circumstances. JJ will navigate his own circumstances. And as we know, in this league, nothing is guaranteed.

Nothing is given. You've got Monty Williams getting fired after one year. Frank Vogel getting fired after one year. With, you know, so many years and a lot of money on their contracts. The league's never been crazier. That's Steve Kerr, head coach of the Warriors. Wow, it's been a decade now since he took over.

And think about the four titles. Another NBA Finals appearance in which they lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers. So, there's been a lot that they've packed into the last decade.

And so, I appreciate what he has to say about JJ Reddick and also just the nature of the NBA right now. And really, it's that way for any pro sports league when it comes to coaches. How many of the coaches turn over every season?

You're talking about, what, quarter at least? And so, it's a tough business. The coaches always to blame. I think mostly because they're the most expendable piece. Even if you do have to pay them an extra $60 million. Never feel badly for owners because they've got plenty of money. So, we've got the LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Bronny James, JJ Reddick, Lakers equation.

Not exactly sure how that's going to play out. You've got both Paul George and James Harden who are free agents for the Clippers. And remember the recent comments by Paul George that they essentially gave away their team or gave away too much of their team for James Harden. I don't think that was a knock on Harden necessarily, though of course they didn't get any farther in the playoffs. But it was about just giving too much up and changing the entire chemistry of their locker room and their team to get this guy, this one guy.

And remember, when they put it together, there were a lot of question marks. Russell Westbrook was already there. Paul George, Kawhi Leonard, two guys who are incredible at what they do, but how often are they injured?

Can they get through a full season? And then the James Harden piece, and how is that going to work out? Obviously, when you've got older players, they're more in touch with their own sports mortality.

And for that reason, they're likely to take different roles or to adapt, to adjust, but it doesn't mean they're going to be winners. Paul George made those comments. Right, I don't think they were a direct knock on James Harden, but it was disappointing for the Clippers this season. And now you've got Harden as a free agent as well. Also, Klay Thompson, an unrestricted free agent. And for me, this is a major question mark, thinking about the Warriors potentially breaking up that core. So of course, Jim Rome asked Steve Kerr about Klay as well. This is the way it works in the NBA and any professional sport.

There's just going to be difficult moments, uncomfortable moments where money is involved. Contracts, respect, however you want to put it. What I do know is that Klay has been such an integral part of everything around here. Obviously, a multi-time champion, but even more than that, just someone who has such a great connection with the Bay Area, with the franchise, with his teammates. And so we want Klay back desperately. I want him back desperately.

And we will have our conversations and he's got to make whatever decision he makes. But yeah, we really want him back. He's Klay Thompson.

Isn't that all you have to say? It's a tough business, of course, but we really want him back. He's Klay Thompson. Makes you feel really good.

It's After Hours with Amy Lawrence. Now, Mike Dunleavy is the second year general manager of these Golden State Warriors. Now you've got, I wouldn't say it's a completely different regime, but you've got different people who are making the choices. I would think that Steve Kerr is involved at every level. Of course, Joe Lakob, when a decision is this big about a lifetime warrior like Klay Thompson. But it's the biggest question for Mike, too.

All that stuff, I think, honestly, it's just private. We want him back. I think we said that all along.

Hopeful he'll come back. But as far as like the specifics of discussions and those types of things, I think it's important to keep kind of in-house. And when that stuff's when we figure out a solution, all that will have news for you. Will they have to move different pieces? Will they have to give up some of the younger guys they want in order to not just make room, but clear up money? Now, they've made the choice to try to get under that luxury tax threshold, which is tough. It's tough because they've been spending money through their nose for the last few years. And it did work, right? They were able to get Kevin Durant in, win a pair of titles.

Then, I mean, that's why their most recent title in 22 was such an amazing surprise because still the aging core. Klay had come back. They had a few pieces. But Andrew Wiggins, he played lights out in that postseason. It was a Gary Payton Jr. too that was part of that as well.

Was such a great defender in there. I mean, they were able to kind of piecemeal it together. But will that happen if they divest themselves of their young talent? Safe to say that it'll be very, very tough for you to consider trading Jonathan Kamenga, Moses Moody, Brandon Pajemski, Trace. You know, those guys are going to be very difficult to pry loose from the Warriors.

For sure. I mean, we really value those guys. We've drafted them. We've grown them.

They played really well. We're excited about them. So, like, the scenario to move them would take a lot. It's important for us to, you know, be good now and then be good also in the future. But, like, the main thing is we think those guys can contribute and help our group now. If that was not the case, then we'd be more open to stuff.

But it is. And so we're excited for those guys' growth this year. And I expect them to be with us. So you can say what you want now, but free agency may tell a different story, right? Depending upon whether or not another team offers clay, whether or not they can find common ground with clay. So it's not that you wanted to accept less money, but you just may not be willing to spend what he believes that he can get somewhere else.

Right? I mean, if all things are equal and no one offers him a max deal and the deal from the Warriors is commensurate with anything else he'll get in the league, you would think he'd return to Golden State, right? But there's always another team, another equation. Sometimes teams are willing to throw in an offer just to stir the pot, just to see what kind of deal they might turn over under a rock. There's a lot of gamesmanship that goes on in these situations as well. So that, to me, is a big deal. I kind of get anxious over it, thinking about it, just because I love clay and I can't imagine one other team.

But yes, it's business and it happens all the time. What about the Celtics? Brad Stevens did his press conference on Tuesday, getting my days mixed up. And he made a lot of comments about the championship that we can get to next hour.

But he was asked about the team and the roster and next season. We'll always evaluate how to make our team better. And we have the opportunity to tweak our team all the way up until February.

You know, last year we ended up doing it in June and October and then there wasn't as much to do once we got to February. We have an opportunity over the next six months to figure that part out. But I think we would be crazy not to say the character and the foundation of this team is right. And let's see if we can be as consistent as we can, grow, develop, get better, improve, try some new things on both ends of the floor to add some juice and jolt that way.

And then see if we can't pick up where we left off. So I don't anticipate major changes, at least early on, because I think this team deserves that. So Brad Stevens, who is now making the decisions, moved into the front office. And man, not only hired Ime Udonka, but then made the decision to suspend Ime Udonka indefinitely. Essentially, he wasn't going to coach again and promote Joe Mazzulla from the second row of the coach's area, right? He wasn't even on the front row.

He was on the back row. And he promoted him. And look what's happening in his second season as coach.

They end up winning the title. Now, a big piece of this, and the major shakeup last year, was trading for Kristaps Porzingis, was bringing him on board. Remember, he's got the rare left leg injury that kept him out of, well, I guess he did play, but kept him from being effective in Game 5 of the NBA Finals. And so he is supposed to have surgery sometime this week.

Unfortunately for him, he's missing the Olympics. Right? So it's a word I... Retina... Ret... Ret... Retinaculum. Retinaculum. Retinaculum? These are not words that I'm familiar with. Retinaculum. Sounds right. And a dislocated posterior tibialis tendon. Alright.

I feel like I was close on that one. Anyway, he was there. He had an amazing Game 1 and a really good Game 2 before he got hurt again. Missed Games 3 and 4, but was on the court.

Got a huge roar from the crowd in Game 5. And he was actually hoping that he could skip the surgery until after the Olympics. But it's another month down the road. And because he's hurt, right now he's acknowledged that he can't play at the level that he would like to for the Latvian national team in Paris. So I'm sad for him that he's going to miss the Olympics because, as you know, for some of these European nations... Gosh, nations anywhere outside of the United States, participating in the Olympic team is the goal. It's the thing.

And so I'm sad for him that he won't be able to do that. But obviously, the Celtics need him healthy because he's the centerpiece of the defense and just changes everything that they want to do on both ends of the court. Just really quickly, the Dallas Mavericks, they did their exit interviews going back a couple days after the finals were done last week. And we had talked about how they need to get better, how they need to enhance the roster around Luka and Kyrie. And so Nico Harrison was also asked about the Mavericks and what they're trying to do this offseason.

Our core called the 7-8 guys that play the most. I don't see much changing out of that. But we're always going to try to get better. That's just the nature of our job.

But there's one thing when you're trying to get a little bit better, tinker on the edges, or you're trying to massively overhaul. When you don't make the playoffs like last year, we were a little bit more desperate. When you go to the finals, now it's like, how can we get 10 to 15 percent better?

I don't think it's a major swing. The Western Conference is a lot tougher. They get stacked at least right now.

And so it's extremely competitive. But I like what Nico had to say. We've got the core.

This is me talking now. Derek Lively, player to watch. He's only going to get better from now. So they do have some really good young pieces. The defense, there's still something to be desired there, of course.

But I love that they were a five seed and got all the way to the NBA Finals in a crowded West. It's After Hours with Amy Lawrence about 20 minutes away from Ask Amy Anything. So send your questions to Twix at Amy After Hours or to our show Facebook page.

Ali is in Miami. What do you think about the NBA free agency? What's good?

I love your show. How are you? I'm good.

Doing good. I'm just looking at all the draft picks and I'm looking at all these foreign for France and for Spain, all these big young guys. Do you really think that Bronny has a chance? Has a chance to what?

To even get drafted. I mean, his agent already said he can't get a two way deal. So, I mean, does Bronny even have a chance to compete against all these great players that have been, you know, really doing that thing for years?

Oh, yeah, he absolutely does. I mean, there's there's all kinds of odds out there right now. For heaven's sakes, you can bet on whether or not Bronny James will get drafted. And a lot of people are in on him getting selected somewhere in the second round. Obviously, the Lakers would not pick him 17 overall, and I really think they're the only franchise that he would even remotely consider drafting him in the first round.

But that to me is irrelevant. I think the Lakers picking at fifty five is a definite possibility. OK, how do you feel about easy? Where do you think that he's going to go? See, I'm kind of surprised that he is not valued a little higher. I think he's terrific. Not only is his basketball IQ really high, but at the same time, you've got a guy who we've seen improve his game and and get better in terms of the footwork and how he handles himself around the hoop.

You can't teach the size. I mean, that's something that is is he'll have. He'll want to stay healthy, of course, but I think he's become more durable. And I also really like the fact that he's smart. He's smart and he's been learning as he goes along. It's clear that people have limited him based on maybe because of his size or what he looks like, or he's not as athletic and just the fact that he hasn't played basketball for his entire life. And yet I still see him improving. I feel like he has great, you know, like just endurance. I mean, he's played every minute. I love his stamina. I love the fact that he's he's a big guy that could play and develop.

I feel like he should be, you know, more, you know, be the, you know, wanted in the draft. But I really like the European players. The European players, I think, are really are going to outshine this draft and it's going to be great to see it.

Well, it seems like that's the way it's going these days. Obviously, I know nothing about the European players, but I absolutely will be interested to see what they do when they get in the league. You got to look at Alex Saar, I mean, you've got a lot of European players that are outshining the American players right now. And it's because, you know, the European style is just, you know, they start them young and they really develop it where it's fundamentals. Right. And I love to see the European players really shine.

There's joy in every journey. A lot of the France players from France, they're doing amazing things. Europeans are going to outshine the draft. Alright, we'll see. I mean the draft is one thing.

The NBA and the season is, well training camp even is not for another few months. So we'll see what happens. You already know it, but they, Bronny, you know, they already say he's not going to get a two way contract. He's got to get a real contract. I feel like Bronny is not going to get drafted. Okay, we'll see what happens.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Lakers take a flyer on him. Oh, that'd be amazing. Great talking with you. Alright, Ali, good to talk to you too. Yeah, we'll see. And we'll be talking about it come this time tomorrow night. So you can find us online at Amy After Hours on our Facebook page.

Send your questions for Ask Amy anything still ahead. Yep, it happened. Player threw up on the mound. Just watching that. Are you the kind of person that sees someone else throw up and gets queasy yourself? There are two kinds of people in this world.

The people who cry when other people cry and the people who throw up when other people throw up. It's After Hours with Amy Lawrence, our hump show on the Infinity Sports Network. You are listening to the After Hours Podcast. Hunter, there may be something a little wrong with him. Yeah, they're going to go out and take a look at him. Everybody gathering on the infield right now. All the infielders, Tomas Vera, Derek Johnson, and David Bell all going out there to look at Hunter Green. And he doesn't look comfortable at all, does he? He did something. I don't know what it was. And we'll see if he's going to stay in this game, but Tomas Vera talking with Hunter Green right now, red trainer. He's pointing to his chest right up under his sternum.

This is After Hours with Amy Lawrence. I wouldn't say I'm one of those people that throws up automatically when I see someone else up, Chuck. But there are times when I've had to fight it back. I've had to fight it down to be sure that doesn't happen. I don't usually get squeamish on really rocky boat rides.

For instance, big waves, big swells. That doesn't make me squeamish. I don't get an upset stomach even when I've eaten something that's, yeah, a little off. For instance, I got salmonella when I was in Ecuador.

First time I ever did a humanitarian trip to work with little kiddos and soccer and school supplies and all that jazz. I was up in the Andes Mountains in Ecuador, and I ate undercooked chicken. It was awful. Within an hour, I knew something was desperately and definitely wrong. But salmonella takes 24 to 48 hours to ingest. So it wasn't until the next night, a little over 24 hours later, that I got sick. I had some flu-like symptoms at the beginning. It was awful what my stomach felt like, and yet I never threw up. I don't get queasy like that.

But the smell of it is not my favorite, so sometimes I have to fight it down. So I don't know if there was anyone near enough to hunter green when he vomited on the mound in the first inning of the Reds-Pirates game to get squeamish and to feel like they might need to take a minute. I don't know if he was throwing up because he had to throw 32 pitches in the first inning, and because he gave up three runs, he did actually manage to last four innings. But he was looked at by the training staff. Again, I'm not sure if this was induced by the six-pitch walk that he gave up right before that. Was it induced by the fact that he did not start out on a high note, and that he walked the leadoff hitter for the Pirates, Andrew McCutcheon, or if it was something else going on.

But yeah, that whole play-by-play on the Reds radio network, it gives you everything that you need without the visuals. He's gross. Yeah, kind of gross.

Hunter doesn't want you to worry about him. I won't throw up here guys, I promise. I won't throw up right here, don't worry.

I'm over it, I'm okay. So yeah, apparently there was a start going back a few days ago in which he reportedly, I'm using my air quotations, reportedly threw up as well. Not on the mound, not where people could see him, but elsewhere. And the idea, or I guess the theory, is that he was too hydrated. So not dehydrated, but he had too much to drink and he was asked about that. No, I can't say that because I did the opposite this time, trying not to have the same result as last time. You know, I'm not going to sit here and make a big deal out of it because I don't think it's a big deal.

But there's stuff that I'm going to take, take some pills and stuff like that to help with my stomach and just hope it goes away. He could be one of those guys that gets nervous. Some guys, some people, some humans, guys and gals just get nervous. Sounds like he was almost too dry, if anything. So last start he had too much water, now he's like, I did the opposite, so he didn't have any water all day and he's dry heaving almost.

Alright, I mean, he, yeah, so he's young. Maybe he's still getting adjusted. Eight cups of water, that's all you need. Eight cups of water.

That's what they say. He's not a rookie though, and so you wouldn't think that the stage would be too big for him, but apparently his stomach's messing with him. And so last game he maybe drank too much water, this game he did the opposite, and this time it was out there for all the world to see. Some people just have weak stomachs. Alright, if you can pitch around it, did it affect the way he pitched? Nobody goes out there and throws up and then, you know what I mean?

It's going to mentally, you're going to be thinking about that a little bit more than making pitches. So you just try and do your best, I guess, in that situation to flip your mindset and just try and focus on, you know, what you need to do. And it's not easy. But I wasn't coming out of that game and I knew I wasn't. So I just had to try and make do with it. It was a tough first inning.

And I'm not out there. I mean, I have to believe getting sick on the mound has some sort of effect. But, you know, I mean, I think Hunter has been so good for us. He kind of needs to just put this one behind him. And, you know, he did finish strong. He gave up six runs on seven hits and a couple of walks.

He lasted 93 pitches, but a third of those came in the first inning. So, yes, we're going to say definitively he did not throw up because of how he started the game. Instead, it was something going on with his stomach.

And I hope he can work it out. Maybe he's got a bug of some sort. If it happened twice in the span of five days, well, you could imagine a bug, some type of a stomach issue, sticking around for five days. That's not completely unheard of.

I would think someone else on the team might have gotten it then at that point. Or that the trainers would be flushing his system with fluids. Anything to get him cleaned out. Get him out of there, yeah.

Yeah. Gross. I love how open he is about it, though. He just, essentially, he's got kind of, bleh, of the mouth. Don't throw up here, guys. He's just talking about it.

He's kind of frank about it. I'm going to take some pills. I'm going to deal with my stomach. Yeah. All right.

Thank you for sharing. That might fall into the category of TMI, but. Some pills. That's a very vague. I don't know if that's going to help.

Let's not jump to any conclusions. All right. I'm going to record a CBS Sports Minute.

Oh, no, it's not called that anymore. I'm going to record just a plain old boring no-name Sports Minute about the Kansas City Chiefs and their new Hallmark movie project because inquiring minds want to know. Straight ahead, ask Amy anything. Send your last-minute questions to Twix, at Amy After Hours, and our Facebook page. Here's our latest sports update. We're here! We're here!

No word if Patrick Mahomes will make a cameo. You are listening to the After Hours podcast. This is After Hours with Amy Lawrence. Time to ask Amy anything. Sort of. Hit me with your best shot. Fire away. You can't ask me whether or not Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelsey will make cameos in the new Hallmark movie that's being made about the Chiefs and filmed in part at Arrowhead Stadium.

I don't know the answer to that. I just know the Chiefs are becoming a pop culture phenomenon. First Swifties and now expanding their audience to Hallmark movie disciples. Is there a team that's more recognizable? The Red Sox kind of hit that same pop culture space with the movie Fever Pitch, if you remember that. I guess they had won the title for the World Series back in 2004 and ended the drought. There are teams that break through.

I mean, I kind of feel like this is them capitalizing on their newfound popularity outside of the sports world. It's interesting. It's After Hours with Amy Lawrence. I'm not making it up either. It's called Holiday Touchdown, a Chiefs love story.

Build a beast. Jay's got your questions for Ask Amy and away we go. All right, well, we've mentioned multiple times on the show that it's almost July and the Fourth of July is next weekend. So Jenny wants to know, do you have a Fourth of July tradition that you'll share with Bob? Or will you two start a new one?

Well, I'm thinking that because he loves to grill as much as he does, that we would probably find a big hunk of meat to grill. However, we're actually not going to be home this July 4th because one of his family members has a wedding. So we will be on July 4th, like actually on July 4th. Has anybody else ever been to a wedding on July 4th? I'm looking forward to it.

One of the colors is smoky blue. I'm not going to wear red, but that's going to be our tradition for our first year of marriage is going to a wedding on July 4th. So I guess the good news is because the wedding's near Houston. In fact, it's a half mile from where we got married, which is kind of funny. Uh, we will be with family, not just my mom, but his mom will also be in town. So that's our tradition. We'll, we'll get to be with family in the first year of marriage.

But ultimately I would say grilling. I wear red, white, and blue. I'll ask him to wear red, white, and blue typically, and maybe finding some fireworks because it's been a long time since I've done fireworks on July 4th. I miss them. But the truth be told, it's not about Bob. It's because Penny was always so afraid of fireworks and I would stay home with her because I just didn't want to leave her when she was petrified. That's nice.

Fireworks are fun. Oh, let's see. This comes from Rich who wants to know, did Bob ever write you a love letter? Oh, many, many love letters. They were mostly in text, so I don't know if those qualify as letters, but we, each of us have a stack of actual cards, like greeting cards that we sent the other. So during our year of long distance, we would surprise each other and send cards back and forth. It turns out he's as big a card guy as I am a card girl. And for his birthday, for instance, I had one in the morning and one in the afternoon. For our three month anniversary, we each got each other two cards.

We had no idea. Yeah, no, we thought we were going to one up the other and it turned out that each of us had bought the other one two cards. So yes, I have some very sweet notes. I've got a bunch of text messages, but mostly I cherish those cards. They're now all over our house. We've got them all over. You've got to display them. Yeah, it's neat.

It's neat to have them for every occasion. Kevin asks, he says, you often talk about your love for hiking. Have you ever encountered a snake or any wild, dangerous animals on the trail? Oh yeah, we just encountered a snake last weekend or two weekends ago.

We were hiking with his son and his son's fiance. I've come across bears. If you hike in the Northeast at any point, the Appalachian Mountains, the Catskill Mountains, of course, you're going to encounter bears.

The key is, and I grew up in New Hampshire, we had bears there too. The key is that you do not want to approach them if they have cubs. And for the most part, just leave them alone. But if they have cubs, the mama will get aggressive. Otherwise, black and brown bears, they're just looking for food most of the time.

They're not looking for human encounters. If they're rabid, that's a different thing. I've heard stories about rabid bears lately. They're more and more bold being around people just because there's so many people in the Northeast that they encounter them all the time.

So, yes, snakes certainly bear. Even moose. When I was growing up in New Hampshire, you know, we would be out and about in the mountains and you would see moose. You want to steer clear of moose, to be sure. Bobcat is another one.

Not that we weren't close to the bobcat, but we could see the bobcat. So, yeah, deer, all kinds of... A turkey that one time on your run. Turkeys, yes. Well, that wasn't even hiking.

Turkeys, of course. Spiders. How about walking right through a spider web? That's the absolute worst. I now make my brother or Bob hike in front of me so they can go through the spider webs first.

I feel like I do that daily or nightly in the summer when I walk to my car. Yeah, it's the worst. Oh, my gosh. I got into Princess Leia a few hours ago to come to work and there was a giant spider on the windshield. Thanks for the season. Dear Lord, my heart palpitations until I realized it was on the outside, but even then, I peeled out of the driveway to make it fly off the windshield.

They freak me out. Someone wants to know, how are you coping with the extreme hot temperatures so far in the Northeast? Well, we're cranking up the AC to sleep during the daytime. Trying to think what else we've done. This weekend, I'm going kayaking.

I went kayaking a couple of weeks ago for Father's Day just to kind of get out of the heat. So, yeah, it's a little mix. Oh, when I water the flowers in the evening, I spray my feet in my flip-flops. That cools you off. Oh, yeah.

The host water. So, beach, haven't done the beach yet other than Hawaii, so we'll probably do that. Yes.

Kayaking is one way that you can get on the water and it's not quite so hot. All right. Let's get into some food. Okay. Dawn says, what other Hostess products would you eat fried, referring to your fried Twinkie that you enjoyed this weekend? Well, you have some options here. Okay.

What are the options? So, A, a Hostess pie, your choice of flavor, B, a Ding Dong, C, a Ho Ho, or D, a Snowball. I like the Snowballs. Which one of those is chocolate? The Ho Ho? No, the Ding Dong?

These are all awful names. Why are children eating these things? Whatever one is chocolate, but I'm telling you, the fried Twinkie would be hard to top because it was delicious. We didn't get the fried Snickers. That was another one we would have tried. A fried Reese's Peanut Butter Cup.

Can you imagine? So, yeah, I didn't do any of the other kind of exotic things, but I would go with anything fried chocolate. So, the Ding Dong. That sounds weird.

I don't think I want to eat a fried Ding Dong. I'm not sure. Really quickly, just got this tweet at A Law Radio.

I got married on July 4th, 1998, still happily married after 26 years. That's amazing. Thank you for sharing that with me. Okay, back to Ask Amy Anything. Brent wants to know, how do you like your Milk Duds? A, slightly melted, or B, cold and extra chewy? Somewhere in the middle.

I do prefer them to be chewy, but I don't think I want to crack a tooth on a frozen Milk Dud. No. No, thank you. Brent wants to know, do you think the time it takes to make risotto is worth it? Yes. I like risotto. All right. But I usually get it in a restaurant. I don't make it myself. Great question, Mike.

Thank you. Darren wants to know hot dogs. Ketchup or no ketchup?

What is your perfect hot dog? I only eat ketchup on hot dogs and hamburgers. Those are pretty much, oh, fries.

That's it, though. I don't eat ketchup on anything else. No ketchup on eggs.

I might throw up on the mound. So for me, I would say the ideal hot dog, it's got to be all beef. I don't eat a lot of dogs. But all beef.

No impossible? No. It needs to be in ketchup, and it needs, or with ketchup, and it needs, I like onions. I'll take a cheese, a piece of cheese folded into the hot dog. That's pretty much it. But if you really want to know, I prefer a brat or a kielbasa. Oh, kielbasa is good. Yeah.

This one's from Randy. He wants to know, would you ever have an after-hours show party, a show party gathering of fans at your place and invite everyone that's listening? At my place? No. There will never be an after-hours party at my place. That sounds extremely scary and a little creepy and no. Now if he's referring to the radio studio where we're headquartered in lower Manhattan, that's a different thing.

Or maybe being outside of the park. No one is coming to my house or my place or any other space that I consider to be personal. No. Says your place.

I know. Do you think he meant that? Your place? I don't know. I'm going to assume he meant your house. You said your place, so. No.

The answer is no. No one's coming to my place. Brian wants to know. Bob would be mortified and I would be hiding and our dog would be cowering and I would be embarrassed.

Okay, go ahead. Brian wants to know, what's the most rewarding aspect of your job? Connecting with people. There are listeners that I know have been with us the entire time we've been here on the network. There are listeners that go back to my days in my previous network. Just the fact that people will reach out, sometimes they ask me to pray for them.

Sometimes they share with me a personal circumstance or challenge they're going through. That is really what my radio show is all about, especially post-pandemic. I love sports, but I love radio more than I love sports. If I could never talk about sports again, I would be okay.

It's really about connecting with people and radio has the unique ability to connect with people in a way that TV and other media do not. Mark wants to know, what's your favorite club to hit off the tee? Well, if I'm hitting it well, my five iron off the tee is a banger. I also, now and then, it doesn't happen a lot, my three iron off the tee. My driver can go wayward.

I think that's really the nature of the driver, so it can get kind of wayward, but yes, when I'm consistent, I love my ping irons and my five iron is a weapon. I'm looking for rapid fire, we mentioned kayaking. Scott wants to know, would you or have you ever kayaked on rapids?

Oh, absolutely. I went whitewater rafting in Juneau, Alaska, which was amazing. We had paddles on all the sides, but yes, I've done some fast moving rivers that I really enjoyed.

Delaware River has a good stretch. I'm sorry, rapid fire. Passenger or driver? Oh, I suck at being a passenger. Ask Bob, he's getting used to me freaking out.

I have to be the driver or I'm really uncomfortable. Bagel or donut? Oh.

Ouch. Oh, donut. Cheesecake or brownie?

I don't like cheesecake. Brownie. Window seat or aisle?

I'm a window girl. Bright colors or neutrals? Always bright.

Orange is my favorite color. Laces or slip ons? Laces. Last one. When you're golfing, walk or ride? Walk, walk, walk, get your exercise.
