Go to TuneIn.com or download the TuneIn app to start listening. Trust Pampers, the number one pediatrician recommended brand. You guys are not going to believe what I ate this weekend. From now on, when people ask me the craziest thing I've ever eaten, this might be on the list.
I don't know if it'll be the craziest necessarily, but it's got to be up for consideration. And of course I thought of you, Producer J, because of our obsession with this particular creamer for our coffees going back to summers now. Still angry that the company refuses to bring back Twinkie creamer. It was the best thing that we've ever tasted in our coffee.
It was summer of 21, spring and summer of 21. And I remember I not only bought some for me, I shared it with friends. I brought some for J and all of a sudden it was gone.
And we can't find it ever again. It's I think International Delight brand if I remember correctly. Now I'm drinking their Snickers creamer, which is pretty good, but it's not Twinkie creamer.
So this weekend I thought of Producer J as well as those of you who I unintentionally got addicted to Twinkie creamer two summers ago. Who share my angst over it no longer being available. Do you know I even checked eBay? As if you would buy creamer on eBay.
Isn't that crazy? But I was so desperate for some going back to 2021 that I even tried eBay. I tried Amazon.
Like you want to buy something refrigerated on Amazon. No, no you don't. But I couldn't find it anywhere.
It's gone. So you can imagine my excitement as I was walking the grounds of the New Jersey State Fair at the Meadowlands on Sunday. And you know, at the state fairs, they fry everything.
Anything and everything. There's actually a booth there called All the Fried Things. Anyway, we had to pick.
It was Bob and some friends of ours. We had to pick which fried things we wanted to eat. And we went through the gates of the New Jersey State Fair anticipating fried dough or elephant ears or funnel cakes, whichever you are used to.
There's a different variety of them, depending upon which state fair you attend. We fully intended to eat fried dough, is what I call it, with a pile of powdered sugar and maybe some fruit or some chocolate or some whipped cream or whatever else. Instead, we were captivated by the fried things. So I ended up eating a fried Twinkie.
On a stick, mind you. It was the most delicious fried thing I've ever had in my life. And that includes calamari, which I love. Fried Twinkie. And it was warm and it was spongy and the cream, it was still fresh and squishy.
Oh, it was so good. You're not going to believe what Bob ate. I was kind of against this, except that it came with ice cream, so I decided I would eat the ice cream. He had a fried piece of pecan pie. It wasn't, the pie itself was a little bit too sweet.
For those of you who make pecan pie on your own, yeah, the pie itself, the filling was a little too sweet. Fried anything is delicious. And with ice cream and whipped cream, it was fine. But in retrospect, he wishes he had had a fried Snickers. There were fried Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, fried Snickers. There were fried everythings.
The Twinkie was amazing. At the end of the night, we actually decided we could not eat fried dough. So our big regret is that we kind of plotted it incorrectly. The same way that producer Jay did when we went to the Bellagio brunch in Vegas, he started with pancakes so his stomach was already full and he just couldn't fit in the rest of the amazing food, or as much as Bob and I ate.
In that way, we did not plot well. And we should have just started with the fried things and then ate regular food after that. I had gator tail for the first time. That was chewy. Was it fried? Oh, everything was fried.
Yeah. We had french fries and gator tail. It was a really interesting experience. And wait until I tell you about the Top Gun ride.
Uh-huh, uh-huh. So we had a lot of fun. We rode a little roller coaster. We went on a Ferris wheel. We did a couple of different sets of swings. Yeah, we enjoyed the rides.
We enjoyed just walking up and down the midways. There were a couple of shows, a magic show. This one particular magician who's appeared on all the different TV networks.
He was high energy. Oh my gosh, though. Racing pigs. You have not had fun until you've seen pig races.
I have videos, Jay. I don't know if they'll post on social just because my favorite pig race is a minute and 20 seconds. Do you want to know why it's a minute and 20 seconds? Because the pigs were enormous. And they sauntered.
They did not run. They sauntered, wagging their little tails all the way around the track. It is the funniest thing you've ever seen in your life. And then apparently there were some scattered treats and food about three feet shy of the finish line. So this one pig, he just saunters around. He gets that if he goes all the way around, he's going to get back into his bed and his food quickly. And so he saunters all the way around. And then he gets sidetracked by treats at the end.
And he and two other pigs just stop short of the finish line. It was so great. They're so big. One of the mamas had her udder just dragging on the ground.
She didn't drag that thing all the way around. These were enormous potbelly pigs. They were so awesome.
And if I can figure out a way to share the video on social, I will because it might be the funniest thing I've ever seen. How many of them race? Well, there were five potbelly pigs. Before that, there were two heats, as they call them, of baby pigs. So those were adorable, too.
You had 16 weeks old, and then 14 weeks old, and they were crazy. They're just like, ahhh, like their tails are on fire. And they ran. No, not the potbellies.
No. I would want to watch them. It was 95 degree heat and humidity, so the poor pigs decided that they would take their sweet old time.
And really, who's going to beat them? But the video was awesome. So if I could figure out a way to share it of the potbelly pigs, the thing is, the babies went around in 20 seconds. Yeah, the potbellies.
They wanted none of that. We could put like a clip up. Oh, it's amazing. It's so amazing.
The way they break out of the starting gate and just kind of walk. Oh, go. Any minute now. No, it was awesome, Jay.
And I was sitting actually at the first quarter poll, and so, yeah, you could, we could maybe get a 30-second video up of them going around the corner. And just the one pig who's in front, yeah, he's got it going on. He realizes, and then he stops. He stops three feet shy of the finish line because that was, the food and the treats were much more important than the finish line.
He got what he wanted. Oh, they were so amazing. So that was our Saturday night, hot date Saturday night. If you haven't seen the photos, I did take a few photos from the Ferris wheel. The fair was actually right in the MetLife parking lot, so no Jets and Giants right now.
And the fair took over the MetLife parking lot. There was also a circus. Oh, there was a petting zoo. I had animals slobber all over my hands.
Donkeys, mini horses, goats, sheep. You know me. My friend Paula and I, we were all about feeding the animals with all the other kids that were there. Anyway, so we had a blast. It was hot. It was humid.
It was all of those things, but you know what? It's a Saturday in the summertime. That was how we spent our first summer weekend. It was awesome. If you'd like to see the photos, they're on my Twitter, at ALOL Radio.
And then Jay, if you wouldn't mind throwing a few up, throwing this group up on our Facebook page, named after the show, when you have a chance, of course. After Hours with Amy Lawrence, the hashtag fair food. That's all you need to know, fair food. We did check, Jay, to see if there were any booths that were selling hamburgers on a glazed donut. But unfortunately, we did not see any donuts. Well, we saw a donut stand, the mini donuts, but we did not see any hamburgers or burgers being offered on glazed donuts.
Wow, that sounds like it would be up that alley, like in that area. It should be, right. It's definitely an epic fail by this New Jersey state fair. But it was delicious. It was also delicious. I love that your fried Twinkie was on a stick. It was awesome. Would you like to see the photo?
Of course. I have photos of that too. And the fried pecan pie. So that was our summer. That was our way to usher in the start of summer.
And as I say, we were dealing with the heat, 95 degrees, 96% humidity. There's no hope of staying cool unless you were up on the swings and flying around. It didn't feel like I was flying.
So a lot of fun. Oh, the free fall where you click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, all the way up. Yeah, your feet are hanging down. Oh, that's my favorite. All the way up to the top of this very large pole.
And then you hang there for three seconds and they drop you. That was amazing. But the top gun, ask me about top guns sometime in the middle of the show. Cause it was a new rod.
I'd not seen it before. Oh yeah, it was terrifying, but it was amazing. Anyway. It was a real top gun, like rod?
Yeah, it was called top gun. Wow. Uh huh. It was pretty cool. And I would say that it probably did simulate in some ways what happens when you go upside down.
And when you're twisting and turning. Anyway, really cool. So make sure you check out some photos at ALOL radio and also on our Facebook page, our phone number 855-212-4227. Want to hear something really funny? I was telling my kiddos on Sunday morning, I have fourth and fifth graders, so nine, 10, 11 year olds about the fair.
Mostly just the food. Do you know what one little girl did? Raised her hand and said, what's a Twinkie? What? I almost fell off my stool.
What? What's a Twinkie? I mean, do Twinkies...
I thought you were just kind of born with my knowledge. Are they outdated? Do Twinkies now become a thing of the past? Here's what my nieces tell me all the time. The 80s and 90s are back.
Boom. And actually I went to a wedding in late May of two young 20-somethings and most of their music was from the 80s and 90s. So you're welcome for the Twinkies too. Well, I used to watch cartoons in the 90s and I used to always see Twinkie commercials. So that's how I've always knew it in my whole life.
Yes. I haven't had a Twinkie since you and I had one going back a couple summers ago. Remember? We found them. We had to search for them.
I went to like three stores for those. We were so upset that Twinkie creamer was gone that we decided we would eat an actual Twinkie, which was amazing, but not as good as the creamer and not as good as I remember. But this fried one, I'm telling you, the fair runs until early July. You may want to go and get a fried Twinkie. It sounds delicious.
And the pig raises too. Oh. And the rides. It sounds like a great time.
It was amazing. I felt bad though because as we were leaving around 11, 15 p.m. on Saturday evening, it was a lot of kids there. So the fair emptied out as you can imagine. Families kind of going home.
Thankfully, even though there were a few bolts of lightning off in the distance, we did not have any lightning or rain in our little neighborhood. But as we were leaving, we were passing the pig racing venue. And would you believe the whole thing was quiet, right? There was a there was a sister and brother who ran it and they have a big mobile home. I'm assuming the pigs ride in the mobile home. It had a door on it, which is kind of interesting. I don't know if they sleep in there as well. That had to be would have had to be interesting. But that's how they travel with these pigs from fair to fair.
They had another show planned for 45 minutes later, 12, 15 a.m. Yeah. Could you imagine those baby pigs are probably a little bit confused and the pot belly pigs may just protest and refuse to walk around the track at all. That's too late for the pot belly pigs, right?
Little ones maybe can do it. They got the energy, but the pot belly pigs. Come on. And then 95 degree heat. Seriously. They need to be in their air condition and just chill. Yeah, pigs and chills. Yeah, so it was a blanket, if you will. Yeah, right.
They wouldn't need a blanket, but it was it was adorbs. So you'll love that. We'll get that video up. That was how we marked the start of summer that and watching the WNBA nationally televised game. But a sold out crowd in Chicago. A tight finish, a 15 point comeback for the home team and record performances by two.
Not one, but two dynamic rookies. This was really the perfect formula for the sky and the fever on Sunday. And so coming up about 45 minutes from now, he's just made the trek back from Chicago to Indiana. Fever beat reporter Matthew Byrne will join us to talk about Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark and the atmosphere.
And how about this? The average ticket price to get into the arena. The average ticket price. More than three hundred and fifty dollars. The highest that the WNBA has ever tracked.
So this goes back about 10 years, I think 2015 was when they started keeping track. Three hundred and fifty dollars plus to get into the arena. I don't know how many of Caitlin's family and friends made it. And I'm sure she gets a few comp tickets, but it wasn't a huge venue. This wasn't the United Center. And so who knows how many of her people were able to get there.
People from Iowa, of course, where she went to school. So Angel versus Caitlin. Sky versus Fever. This is a fun game.
Watch the entire thing. Was doing some work prep and also keeping an eye on the College World Series, which, by the way, the volunteers rallied past the Aggies. So there will be a winner take all game three of the College World Series in Omaha coming up on Monday night. Oh, same time that we'll have to follow.
Are you ready? Game seven. You want to talk about winner take all winner takes Lord Stanley and his cup and the title of world champion. You guys, we get a game seven for the Stanley Cup final.
How about that? We've had a wild swing. The Panthers control.
Well, actually, I take that back. The Panthers won the first three games, did not like how they played in the opener, even though that game was in their building. Remember, that was all about Sergei Bobrowski, who pitched the shutout, if you will. Then they were able to exert their will and force the Oilers to play their style, the Panthers style in games two and three. And that really meant keeping the power play under wraps, right? The Oilers were really struggling. They were not having success on their power play the way that they're used to. So they win the first three games. We get all the stats about how only a handful of teams have ever come back from an 0-3 deficit in the NHL playoffs.
Only one time in the Stanley Cup final. And that goes back to the 40s. How many of us were actually around? Maybe some of us. Probably not many of us. I don't remember.
Jay doesn't remember. Most of you don't remember. It hasn't happened in decades. It's rare. It's never happened in Major League Baseball that you've had a team come back from an 0-3 deficit in the World Series. It certainly hasn't happened in the NBA Finals in any round. But here we are. Throw everything else out the window, except this.
Though I wonder if the travel changes the momentum. But the Oilers are playing lights freaking out right now. And our friend Jack Michaels, who we're going to reach out to and see if he can join us Monday, regardless of how Game 7 goes.
I have to share with you what he posted. This was earlier on Sunday. Ready? Exactly nine months after their pre-season opener.
If I could read. Nine months after their pre-season opener. Seven months after waking up on Thanksgiving Day, 10 points out of a playoff spot. The Edmonton Oilers are now sitting on a Game 7 opportunity in the Stanley Cup Final. The road team has won the last three Game 7s in this final.
Okay. So those are your stakes. And we'll hear from Matthew Kuchuk and Connor McDavid, the coaches, to get you steady for Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final. So yeah, we've got two championship games on Monday. College World Series, which will finally end the college athletics season.
My gosh. Most college students have been out of school since early May. And here we've just crowned the Women's College World Series champion in OU, Oklahoma. And now we'll see either Tennessee or the Aggies of Texas A&M who have never won a World Series in their baseball history. That happens Monday as well as Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final. We will finally put the winter sports to bed.
They need to hibernate. So Monday's a championship day. Championship Monday. And I'm really excited to see how it goes. We'll have a lot of eyeballs and ear balls here on the show. Love to hear from you even now as we launch a new work week. We'll hear from both Angel Reese and Kaitlyn Clark about a game in which Fever appear to be headed to their fifth consecutive win until Angel Reese.
855-212-4227 at ALawRadio. I'm going to throw up a photo of a fried Twinkie. And maybe, just maybe, we'll get video of pig races.
I'm telling you, you have not lived until you've seen pot-bellied pigs take the word race and turn it into something completely different. It's After Hours with Amy Lawrence here. Progressive. Progressive casualty insurance company and affiliates.

I think it's been really good for the game. This is After Hours with Amy Lauren. The voices of Angel Reese and Kaitlyn Clark, both responding to media questions about the other. Now, in the case of Angel, you may remember a week ago Sunday on a nationally televised game that had record TV viewership. Angel had a flagrant foul.
I don't know if you recall the play. Kaitlyn was driving in from the left side. And Angel appeared to be online to at least get a piece of the ball above her head. And at the last second, arm kind of rakes across the head in the face of Kaitlyn Clark. It was called a flagrant one, not a flagrant two, which is intent. And I talked to a lot of people.
I even heard from family members. Why wasn't that a flagrant two? Why wasn't she ejected?
Well, it's tough to prove intent, number one. Number two, the ball was in the vicinity. And while you're not allowed to make any contact with head or neck, unintentional or intentional, there's no way to know that Angel Reese was targeting the head and the neck of Kaitlyn Clark.
That'd be quite the leap to make. And so instead, she was answering questions, called it a basketball play. And yes, there was a lot made of it. Angel was right about that. Kaitlyn, for her part, continues to be complimentary of the former LSU star. And remember the whole face and face waving incident in the national championship when they were both juniors or when they were both in their penultimate year, when they faced off in the national championship.
A lot's been made of the games and the moments when these two women are on the court together. And Sunday, no different. Now coming up just after the top of the hour, we'll have a chance to catch up with a brand new guest, Matthew Byrne, who is fresh out of college himself and is covering Kaitlyn Clark's rookie season as a beat reporter for clutch points with a fever.
And after being in Chicago, drove back to Bloomington and will join us in a few minutes. It was a sold out crowd. It was not the United Center.
However, every other space was jammed. National TV, a tight finish. You had a 15 point lead for the sky, built largely in the second and third quarters. Well, mostly third quarter. And then something happens.
The wheels fall off. It's a young team and everything they did right in the third quarter was seemingly undone in the fourth when they could not slow down. Angel Reese had no answers for her, for her rebounding, for her aggressive ball hawking to get to the rim. She was not just about the putbacks.
Her teammates were looking for her. You had fever players hanging on her, fouling her, sending her to the free throw line. I think she was nine of 11 from the charity stripe, which she had more free throw attempts than the fever had makes as a team.
And so, yeah, there are a lot of ways that you can look at the game from Angel Reese and recognize why she is one of the top rookies and why she is getting so much attention. She's carried over that rebounding advantage and that rebounding tenacity from her days as a Tiger. So she finished with 25 points, which is a career high, 16 rebounds. She also had an assist and was out on the court for 36 minutes. And so a major catalyst, as was Kaitlyn. But in recording another double-double, she extends the WNBA rookie record.
She already owns it. Now she's got eight double-doubles in a row, and she recognized that she had a responsibility heading into the final quarter on Sunday. Poise. I think sometimes we get comfortable. A lot of times we get comfortable. We had a good leap for a little minute, and then we got comfortable, and I felt like we didn't have that much energy. So just staying poised, not letting ourselves get down. I think I did a great job being able to bring energy. If it was defensively, if it was offensively, rebounding, steals, doing whatever to be vocal and help the team. I think my teammates really rely on my energy and being able to be super positive for them.
So I just try to always give that every night. We knew, we talk about it all the time, that she's an incredible rebounder. We knew that would translate over because that's a will and a want to and desire to get it done. We knew that would translate over. And the work that she's put in to be efficient around the rim as we're moving forward in the season, she's put in a lot of work. She's played against some incredible post players already, so she's learned a lot of the how-to's. And that's why it's growing.
That's why it's growing. She's understanding this level of play. Great energy inside the arena, and of course, the attention persists as the sky and the fever get on the court together, as Angel Reese and Kaitlyn Clark share space, if you will. Yeah, people want to see how this plays out. Of course, it's good for the game, good for women's basketball, but also good for women's sports. You see NBA players, rappers, legends that have played in the league for a long time come out and show support. So you know everybody's watching right now.
I think this is one of the most important times right now. We just continue to keep putting on. I think both teams tonight did an amazing job putting on a show, and it was fun. I had a great time. I'm sure the other team had a great time.
So I'm just happy we won tonight. So for Angel Reese, one thing that you'll notice, and this is not something that's different now that she's in the WNBA, but she likes to talk smack. So did Larry Bird. So did Kobe Bryant.
All right, let's not pinpoint Angel Reese as someone who's different in that regard, just happens to be part of her game. Draymond Green talks a lot of smack, right? So you've got guys and gals who play at the highest level, who do talk smack. For heaven's sakes, the darling of the NBA, Steph Curry, he also talks smack. Well, he more gestures than he does talk. He shimmies, he gives the goodnight sign, he constantly is flashing up the threes. Also, I can neither confirm nor deny, but going back to one of the NBA finals against the Cavaliers, he may have pooped on the court or made the gesture of squatting and pooping on the court.
I teach this man some etiquette. He swears he does not remember that. Anyway, trash talking is a part of sports, definitely at the professional level. Whether you like it or you don't like it, Angel Reese uses that. And from the very beginning, she was joying with players who were attempting to guard her. That includes forward Nalissa Smith from the Fever and apparently Nalissa, and I didn't see it either, but Nalissa flashed the you're too small sign early in the game. I didn't even see it. The thing is, my teammates had to tell me about that. I didn't even know she did that. That's crazy. But me and Nalissa have been competing against each other since I was at Maryland and she was at Baylor. So it's nothing, no hard feelings.
Me and Nalissa are just two great competitors. So Jay says he saw it. I didn't actually see it, but you saw it live? Yeah, I saw it live right away.
I'm thinking that that may be one reason why Angel Reese was motivated, though she said her teammates had to tell her she didn't know it happened. I saw it live. Angel was looking to kind of go with the ball to inbound it. It was right after a bucket. And then Nalissa goes to the floor and does like the, puts it like the hand level like you're down here. So yeah, she'd have her back turned, so I don't think she did see it live, Angel.
Gotcha. Okay, so see, both producer Jay and I were watching, my mom was watching wearing her jersey. As for Kaitlyn Clark, it may not have been the victory, and this one stings, of course, because they coughed up a 15 point second half lead.
It's part of growing as a young team member. They're still young, but if you watch this game, you had to be dazzled by her passing. She focused more on setting up her teammates than she did on shooting. Yes, she made five triples and she had 17 points, but did you know she had a franchise record 13 assists in this game? Now some people will think about the final quarter in which she took very few shots and actually the final 10 seconds of this game in which she did not take a shot that would have won for the Indiana Fever. They were down by one point. They had the ball with 10 seconds, 7 seconds to go in the inbound play. She actually passed the ball to her teammate, Aliyah Boston, who had a double figure performance, did not look for her own shot.
So that's interesting. Christy Sides spoke about it after the game. We'll talk to Matthew Byrne and ask him why didn't Kaitlyn take a shot in those waning seconds. But for Kaitlyn, the career high 13 assists, the six rebounds, four steals, she did have five turnovers, but she played every single minute of this game.
She was the only woman who played all 40 minutes of this game. And yeah, tough to blow the lead when you struggle that much down the stretch. Just seemed like the ball got got really stuck.
I don't know. We didn't move it side to side like we had for three quarters, which were we were really good. Yeah, I mean, I just felt like we didn't execute. It just felt like we kind of let them take them when they went on a little run. We could never find a way to respond. And, you know, that's what happens in basketball runs.
So you got to find a way to always respond. And I don't think we executed any sort of set. Chicago turned up, turned up the heat on us, give them credit. They did a great job of getting really physical with us. And we just didn't didn't match that. And we let their physicality just kind of disrupt us. That's on me.
I've got to have us better prepared for that. Producer Jay and I, we had the same thought when Christy Sides was miked up during the ESPN broadcast. Her voice sounded completely normal. And then she gets postgame and she can barely speak. I don't think I'll ask the beat reporter about that, but she's very animated.
Maybe that's it. She's able to preserve her voice and save her voice over a couple of days in between games. And early in the game, she's still got a modicum of some volume.
But then by the time the game is over, she's done. Her voice is spent again. I mean, I've been in those situations before where you're quiet, quiet, quiet to try to get through some laryngitis or a sore throat or whatever else it is. And you save your voice, save your voice. And by the time you finish doing your job, well, the voice is gone again. At least that was my experience.
And so I can understand why. But yeah, in the off season would be the time when I would hope she would not talk for or get a surgery if she has polyps. I mean, that's also a challenge for Caitlin. One of the obviously one of the big glaring mistakes, the big glaring issues is that they were unable to slow down Angel Reese or contain her in the fourth quarter. I thought she ran really well in transition.
I think she got a couple and ones in transition. Obviously, she played a really great game. I think they definitely knew to be physical with us. I think they probably watched the dream film and saw that we fouled them nonstop. And in Atlanta, we were able to get away with that. And obviously tonight, putting them at the foul line 32 times, we put Atlanta at the foul line 35 times. Teams like this, you're not going to get away with that.
It's not going to work usually like that. It was impressive that we went to Atlanta with how much we fouled and all the times giving up and ones like Angel had quite a few and ones there in the fourth. But I thought she played a really great game.
She definitely did. It was a lot of fun to watch. And for the Indiana Fever, this ends their win streak. They had won four consecutive games. In fact, they'd already beaten the Chicago Sky twice this season. But had won four in a row, probably due in large part to the fact that they've had more practice time.
They've had more rest. And if you missed it, I did reshare our conversation with Jennifer Rizzotti, the USA Women's Basketball Selection Committee Chair. Some people have asked why isn't Kaitlyn on the 3x3 team to replace Cameron Brink, who just tore her ACL. Others, of course, want to know how could the U.S. Olympic team miss this opportunity to put so many eyeballs on women's basketball by including Kaitlyn Clark. We see the phenomenon that is the WNBA viewership right now.
Every game that's on national TV is setting records. And again, the ticket price is better than $350 on average. That's like buying tickets to a Taylor Swift concert. If your daughter is into basketball and she's also a Swiftie, you're sunk. You either have to draw the line or you're going to have to pick up some extra jobs on the weekends to be able to take your preteen or teenage daughter to see both Kaitlyn Clark and Taylor Swift. This is what I thought of when I saw that ticket price. We're talking about Swiftie era's tour prices. Did you see Taylor's latest surprise on her latest show? That her boyfriend, Travis Kelsey, came out and was part of a particular act. Yeah, it was pretty fun. So anyway, Swifties and Clarkies, whichever you are, you better hope your daughter's not both.
Although I kind of feel like it's the best of both worlds. You've got an incredible entertainer, an interpreter who writes her own music and designs these shows and is very kind and connects with her fans. And then you've got Kaitlyn Clark, who's younger than Taylor Swift but also does the same. Pays attention to the fans, especially the young ones, takes photos, signs autographs. You can see the pictures of the hordes around her every pregame.
She talks before and after games, she handles herself with grace, and of course her game is highly entertaining. So there's all of that. I guess if those are your daughter's role models, well then maybe they're in pretty good hands.
As long as you're also their role models as their parents. Alright, coming up, did you see what happened on the 18th green of the final round of the Traveler's Championship on Sunday? And shhhh. Scottie Scheffler, he's in trouble with police again. No, no, no, it's not quite that drastic.
But there were police swarming around Scottie Scheffler yet again at a golf event. That's coming up. You can find... Selling a little or a lot. Shopify helps you do your thing.

Though it's still jarring to see it when these protesters, and I'm not even going to tell you what they were protesting for or against because I'm not giving them any credence or air time. They run out onto the 18th green. Six of them, I believe. And as Scottie Scheffler is attempting to line up his putt on the final green of the final day. And he's tied, well at this point he has a one-stroke lead. He's about to win another tournament and six different protesters storm the 72nd hole and they have to wait until police officers clear the green. Not to mention they're blowing and spraying whatever that colored smoke is. Yeah, again, I have no idea what it has to do with their cause.
I don't think, I guess you could tell me if I'm wrong. I don't recall or believe or think that I've ever changed my mind on an issue based on protesters storming an important sporting event. And what do their protests have to do with their cause? How does that raise awareness or cause anyone to change their mind on the issue? But what it did was get them on TV, get their arrests and, well, they're getting corralled and getting arrested on TV.
And then Scottie Scheffler had to go back to work to finish up that putt as well as go through a playoff hole. It's definitely a bit weird. You know, I saw one person out of the corner of my eye and then I saw about five police officers sprinting around and from my point of view they got it taken care of pretty dang fast.
And so we were very grateful for that. It seemed to go by really quickly to us, but when something like that happens, you don't really know what's happening. So it can kind of rattle you a little bit just because there's people running around the green and there's police officers running around the green and you don't know if they're peaceful. You don't know what they're doing.
You have no idea what's going on. And so it can be a bit stressful. But fortunately I was out there and you could kind of see me and Akshay talking to each other for a minute, me and Tom talking to each other for a minute, just basically trying to calm down.
So that can be a stressful situation and you would hate for the tournament to end on something weird happening because of a situation like that. And so I felt like Tom and I both tried to calm each other down so we could, you know, give it our best shot there on 18. Well, Tom, he actually was, he was part of the running sort of, but it was Tony, is it Tony Kim, who was Tom Kim.
He's referring to a different Tom. Anyway, Tom Kim had to make a putt to force a playoff. And so he was able to do that.
He was not rattled. Sheffler himself finished off his hole and then had to wait for Kim to be done. So, yeah, it was pretty impressive the way that they found just kind of some calm and, OK, this delay is not going to derail what we're working on here. So, yeah, Tom Kim actually had to step up and get a birdie in order to force the playoff. And he lost in the first hole to Scottie Sheffler.
However, really neat scene and kind of flipping the bird, if you will, to the protesters who attempted to derail. But I was wondering if Scottie Sheffler was having flashbacks of some sort, if he was feeling like this is all too familiar. He did throw a little shade at the detective in Louisville who arrested him after there was the misunderstanding. And Sheffler tried to drive around a police barricade, if you remember.
He said something along the lines of Detective Gillis should be taking notes. Anyway, the neat thing is that Sheffler was able to win in a playoff his sixth tournament of the season. So he is back on track following the U.S. Open. It's pretty special. You know, it's it's been a great season.
I've been fortunate to to come away with some wins and it's been it's been a lot of fun. You know, Tom Tom played his heart out today. You know, he's a great player, great champion. It was it was fun battling with him today. Really need to if you watched any of this coverage on CBS or saw anything on social, you know that Scottie had his six week old son with him and pretty sweet.
He was emotional in holding on to his son and standing with his wife and getting interviewed about what it means to be a father. And now a PGA champion again, did do a couple of diaper changes during the rain delay. But it was it was nice. Usually you just sit there and play on your phone or do nothing during the rain delays and they can kind of be a waste of time. But yesterday we were in there for a few hours, just got to hang out with our our babies and hang out. And Tom came in and helped my son for a bit. And, you know, we just have fun. You know, I'm fortunate to be surrounded by my great friends out here and we have a good time. Scottie Scheffler locked in as a dad now five under on Sunday and a twenty two under overall to win the Travelers Championship in Cromwell, Connecticut.
Connecticut, excuse me. And Tom Kim, he matched him with the final round and then lost in that playoff. But good stuff. If you are a golf fan, you know that Scottie Scheffler right now is on the type of torrid pace that we used to ask about Tiger Woods when he was locked in like this. Are you taking Tiger or are you taking the field? And while Scottie doesn't move the needles, quote unquote, doesn't seem to attract the same kind of attention and interest as Tiger Woods or Kaitlyn Clark, he's not a guy that you would recognize if he walked down the street past you. Most often you would not. Now, you might recognize his mug shot because that's out there on the Internet.
If it's real, it could be a generated anyway. He's he's not super charismatic, though. I think people are finding he has a dry sense of humor, kind of throwing shade at the detective. And people are very impressed with the way he was able to compete in the PGA Championship after getting arrested.
Will his dominance attract more fans back to the game of golf? That's the question. It's after hours with Amy Lawrence.
