Rob has now sent me eight tweets about Tim Tebow and the latest are I still disagree with you saying Tebow is the number two quarterback because the Jets only dressed two quarterbacks.

He was two because he had a package. Wait. Okay.

Here's Amy Lawrence. Do you know that happened year two of me hosting after hours and it was on the weekend overnight and I was working with the Toms at the time. The three of us died. Like there was no recovering.

Thankfully it was at the end of the show because we had no way to recover from that. So I learned a lesson. Never, ever, ever, ever read something on the air that you haven't proofread first or if you're going to make sure that you're reading ahead even as you're talking which actually is a skill.

Have you ever tried it? Read one thing or think about one thing, the next step ahead, the next word, the next idea as you're talking about something different or here's another challenge. Talk.

Make logical sense. Keep up a conversation while someone is in your ear talking about someone else. These are all skills that not everybody can do and most media people, radio hosts, can't do them at the beginning.

I've told the story before and I tease her about it when I see her. Rebecca Lobo who I partnered with to do some Big East TV going back multiple iterations of the Big East but she and I traveled for a Big East package. It won in early winter and when the producer would get in her ear while she was talking, she would instinctively, accidentally answer him on the air. And so it's a lot going on if you're talking about one thing, what you're seeing on the court and your producer is in your ear about something else, it takes practice and it takes a lot of reps to be able to keep up your conversation or keep up your train of thought or what you're saying even while someone else is speaking and to be able to listen to what that person is saying in your ear and not stop talking. But then yeah, as I say, very often my brain is thinking about what's coming next and my brain is leading the way, my mouth is kind of trailing behind. But every now and then when you're tired, the two entities and the two muscles are not in sync and so it comes out all horribly wrong. So yeah, I got to be able to read ahead but be speaking a couple lines behind if that makes sense, which I did not do with that Tim Tebow tweet.

And then when it came out, it was, well, it was glorious for everyone except for me. It's After Hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS Sports Radio. Good morning, it's a Monday. This is the last hour you'll have me until Tuesday night from Las Vegas. So I will not be here tonight for the show. I got an early flight so I wouldn't even be able to get to the airport in time but an early flight that will take me direct from Newark to Vegas.

We'll get off the plane, hit the ground running in Las Vegas. So really looking forward to that because it's the first time ever in Sin City for the Super Bowl and because I haven't taken the show since 2020. So it was 2020 in Miami, the last time that we were actually in person on Radio Row and then it's just an opportunity to network. It's a great chance for us to be able to talk to our guests face to face with eye contact.

That rarely happens. I mean, once or twice a year we'll have in-studio guests but that's generally not how it goes, as you know. To be able to shake hands or in some cases give hugs based if there's people that I've known for years, to reconnect with other members of the media, former colleagues, even current colleagues right that I very rarely see.

It's that opportunity. We make so many incredible connections. Some of them are long lasting and just as an example, I met Mark Singleton of Rudolph Foods, of Rudolph Foods, the Southern Recipe Pork Rinds people on Radio Row in San Francisco for Super Bowl 50.

That was when I met them. They loved the interview that I did with I think it was Bobby Bell, who was the long time and Hall of Famer Kansas City Chief and because they appreciated the conversation that I was able to engage in with Bobby, they called it the best interview he did the whole time he was there. They decided to have me be part of their Southern Recipe campaigns and every year we have partnered with them as well as with Gridiron Grades to be able to bring awareness for that organization and to the Hall of Famers. Some of our like my most favorite conversations, our best conversations every football season come from Southern Recipe and the partnership with the Hall of Famers like Mean Joe Green for example.

Awesome. So this year and we've already had Steve Largent on the show during Super Bowl or during the football season but we'll have him during Super Bowl week as well as Kellen Moore, the Hall of Famer who, Kellen Moore Sr. who was the brown and for those of you who are longtime Browns fans you'll remember him. Well actually I hope if you're a longtime football fans you'll remember him.

But yeah those are our two Hall of Famers this week on Radio Row. That happens Thursday but Southern Recipe pork rinds are sponsoring our trip this year and so we're really appreciative and that relationship happened years ago on Radio Row and it's one that's flourished and and according to them and I this is humbling but I appreciate them telling us that the relationship and their not just their awareness and and publicity for pork rinds and for their brand of pork rinds but also for Gridiron Grades has been such a productive one that they want to continue to work with us. So people ask me all the time do you actually eat pork rinds? Yes, yes I do. In fact a couple weeks ago they sent me a care package which was sweet and it had spicy barbecue. Ask producer J. I housed that bag it was a night when I came in on a Sunday night well it was during the week but I opened it up on a Sunday night and I had no snacks flipping the schedule again didn't bring enough snacks and was starving and I ate half the bag on Sunday night. My goal is to try I've had the ancho chile I've also had the sea salt those are great oh and the there's a pineapple one as well the one that I really want to try I've tried to find it on Amazon I can't I keep asking Mark when do I get to try blackberry habanero that sounds delicious anyway we'll be there working with southern recipe pork rinds Mark Rudolph he or excuse me or excuse me Mark Singleton might as well be Rudolph. Mark Singleton will be there as well and has invited us to go to the cigar party on Thursday night that is hosted by Ditka and Ron Jaworski so Jaws and Ditka their cigar party in Vegas that's Thursday night and we'll be there for about an hour and a half before we have to leave and go to work which is at the studios but we'll be able to take some pictures we'll be able to well well I don't I don't think I'm able to walk the red carpet I don't think they want me doing that but we'll be able to watch the red carpet similar to what many people saw with the Grammys last night no Taylor Swift did not mention Travis Kelsey in case you're wondering and I know many of you are because it's a very popular google search right now she did however win a pair of Grammys and one of them was album of the year the surprise presenter was Celine Dion which is amazing I've watched the moment four or five times now because Celine dealing with her health issues very rarely makes public appearances at this point she's trying to get healthy she stopped touring all that so she walks out on stage and the place went crazy it was crypto.com arena I finally stopped calling it Staples Center anyway so she got her award from Celine and then dropped the bombshell that she's got a new studio album coming out so people are all excited about Taylor but no no Travis mentioned and no he was not there so this is kind of funny I told Colton earlier for people who don't know that the Super Bowl teams have to arrive on Sunday of the week because Monday's opening night and they've got interviews and all that jazz but Swifties wouldn't know that right a lot of Swifties are seven or eight years old so they wouldn't know that Travis Kelsey is with the Chiefs and they were in Vegas already on Sunday another popular popular Google search did Travis Kelsey go to the Grammys did Taylor Swift bring Travis Kelsey to the Grammys it was funny to kind of see the Google searches and poor Travis yes I say that tongue in cheek he will be blasted by questions about Taylor at opening night oh that's gonna be fun I generally do not arrive at Super Bowl week until Tuesday so I don't go to opening night there'll be plenty of diver press conferences it's after hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS Sports Radio coming up in 10 minutes this is going to be awesome a friend of mine who is a meteorologist in Baltimore he is a Vegas native and is going to join us in 10 minutes to give us last minute suggestions so he'll call in from Baltimore he listens to the show on our local affiliate there 105.7 the fan and he I got his message I have a hit at 5.17 eastern and should be done by 5.20 so we'll be calling him or he can call us or we'll call at the same time and then it won't go through it'll be awesome just kidding poor Colton Colton's working with us all week we really appreciate him to have that continuity of the same person running our board while Jay will be on his way to Vegas in a few hours and then I will be there on Tuesday morning so find me on Twitter a law radio also on our Facebook page after hours with Amy Lawrence we're taking your Vegas suggestions still Chicago Johnny called earlier in the show he's very very excited to host us at the mob museum on Friday morning we'll maybe mix it a little bit of the football the uh pro bowl skills and flag football game they were done oh by the way Baker Mayfield was the offensive MVP and DeMario Davis was the defensive MVP that man is still trucking he's uh crushing it even at his ripe old age I love the old dudes because they're in touch with their own sports mortality and they take nothing for granted so those were your offensive and defensive MVPs I didn't watch I'm back to the whole oh I forgot it was going on type of thing and the NFL network's not even replaying it right now they're actually playing the AFC championship so it's not something that they're going to hold up and tout but it was the Mannings Eli bested his brother as head coach again for the second straight year and there were some good interviews that took place there too so we'll bring some of those back for you to hear but the other big news from the world of football football on Sunday FIFA made its announcement about the world cup final and Colton pulled it from FIFA twitter we were waiting with bated breath to know who would host the world cup final when it comes to North America in 2026 and now we know so here we are for the biggest announcement in the history of announcements where will the final of the 2026 FIFA World Cup be played the winner is New York New Jersey how about that not a tnt stadium I wonder if Jerry Jones is mad not a tnt stadium instead it's met life stadium the home of the giants and the jets in the New York City metro and it it's actually in New Jersey across the Hudson River but obviously it's New York metro it is 15 minutes south of where I live I can't even imagine what it would be like we're talking off the charts hype and buzz if somehow team USA gets there but even so the US men's national team will have a more mature roster remember uh what was was it last year I guess it was last year right because they were it was a year late they made it to the knockout stage under Greg Burr not lat oh it was 22 it was december of 22 sorry um so they had the knockout stage with one of the youngest teams in the entire world cup Greg Burr halter is back now as as manager after a sabbatical shall we call it a sabbatical with dramatical effect sabbatical with dramatical effect and this will be the best team the us has ever had they don't have to qualify which takes that pressure off their first game will be at sofi stadium on june 12th and all of the group stage matches for team USA will take place in the pacific time zone so they'll go from sofi to seattle which is a soccer hotbed sorry football hotbed they love they have a soccer only stadium up there they love their sounders who have won mls titles in the past but they they support soccer to the hilt although i would i would bet colton will you look this up for me as opposed to being in the sounders facility i'm sure they're using the seahawks stadium because all of the other ones are at are at nfl stadiums so i have no doubt that they're using well i shouldn't say have no doubt i'm i'm assuming that they'll be using the home of the seahawks then we'll have games at arrowhead hard rock stadium in miami Gillette stadium in foxboro which also very passionate new england about the revolution philadelphia will host a round of 16 game on july 4th there is no doubt in my mind either that if the americans are still alive in the round of 16 they're going to philadelphia on july 4th could you imagine oh my gosh yeah that again that screams america it does and it is lumenfield in seattle thank you all right thanks for confirming so that's the big announcement coming from fifa i don't know if jerry's upset but at and t stadium will host a semi-final and so will mercedes-benz in atlanta so this is going to be awesome canada will host its first ever world cup games on the men's side remember they had the women's a few years ago and they'll do toronto and vancouver in group play mexico will have the actual opening match of the world cup and the games will be hosted there at estadio esteca in mexico city so it's a north american flair but the semi-finals as well as the final will be on u.s soil this is it this is it you guys all right so we're asking you in light of a topic i did in 2015 i asked you the top sports moments that you most want to witness in your lifetime number one by far was the u.s men win the world cup by the way numbers two and three have already been checked off the list and if you forgot we'll remind you a little bit later this hour you can find us on twitter a law radio on our facebook page two final hour before i have to go pack i always wait till the last second straight ahead a vegas native who also worked in the city gives us his last minute suggestions do's and don'ts if you will for las vegas it's after hours with amy lawrence on cbs sports radio we've taken your vegas vibe suggestions for our playlist coming up the rest of super bowl week and we definitely will be incorporating those both colton back here at cbs sports radio headquarters as well as producer j and and the two of them will be communicating the whole time it'll almost be like we have a full crew again really excited about our trip and getting back to radio row it's been a while for all the reasons that i've talked about and we promise to give you a unique experience right you can get the football coverage anywhere that's not why we go we have unique interviews that we're getting ready for uh and we also want to experience vegas because j hasn't been since he was a teenager and i've never been and to that end many of you have sent me your suggestions but we thought it would be fun to hear from an actual vegas native and justin chambers and i have connected really only over social because we both work these crazy hours he's a meteorologist in baltimore and has offered to give me the do's and don'ts and justin is taking a break from his morning reports and is with us now hi justin do you have him turned up hi justin hey amy it's so happy to be here to finally first time caller longtime listener so i actually get to say that that's very exciting how long have you been in baltimore uh so i'm coming up on three years we my wife and i moved here a few years ago we worked in nashville but yeah i mean i've worked for eight years in vegas and uh and it's my hometown i mean i was there as a kid and and then went back there as an adult and uh yeah i mean it's it's it's always a great place to go when was the last time you were there um i was there for new year's eve for raiders versus niners and i ended up not going to that game it was actually on january 1st but um that was the last time i was there so it's fun to actually be there on new year's eve and not work because i worked in the media for years and i'd always have to cover new year's eve but it was fun to actually be there and like experience it so that was pretty cool all right well so i know you're on a tight schedule with your morning meteorology reports but i need to know what are the must-dos and you know my schedule it's really only friday and saturday and saturday is going to spend a lot be spent a lot of it like at the hoover dam and and kind of out uh we hope to see red rock if the traffic's not too bad but what are some of the must-dos for j and i while we're there well you just mentioned two of the ones i was going to say anyway so that's perfect i mean you got to go to red rock canyon no matter what you have to drive sport it's about 40 minutes west of town you can do the loop it's a 13 mile loop and you drive through it you can get out you can take pictures nice really really really great make this valentine's day one shall remember forever with an engagement ring from jamesallen.com james allen knows each love story is unique that's why they make it easy to custom design engagement rings at up to half the price of a traditional jeweler choose from tons of conflict-free diamonds both natural and lab-grown then pick your ring setting and metal shop the james allen valentine's day sale and get 25 off with promo code podcast that's 25 off at jamesallen.com promo code podcast hey mil bra here gotta work from home today because the whole family caught a nasty hey mikey if you're gonna puke find the popcorn bowl but my availability is 110 percent coincidentally so is my fever kidding mel i'm so cold but hot uh but i'm gonna get you that budget just as soon as mikey popcorn bowl press one to use instacart and get your family sick day essentials delivered in as fast as 30 minutes press two to keep working do not press two just use instacart brian nobody wants a surprise in their jelly donut it's toothpaste that's because the middle is the most important part at gray bar we're at the middle of electrical and datacom jobs across the country connecting installers facility managers and business owners with smart solutions for their most challenging projects which means stocking and delivering crucial products on time and on budget with no surprises thanks to our nationwide logistics network yep gray bar does that highly recommend that because people don't think about mountains when you go to las vegas and i mean the mountains are amazing mount charleston is about 14 000 feet out there and so it's not 14 000 yeah it's it's high it's not that high i just i would live in colorado so i'm thinking the 14ers and then uh yeah hoover dam is great um go through boulder city when you go to hoover dam because boulder city is this cute little town and um it's got a great place to eat called the coffee cup that's like like one of my favorite spots and that's on the way to hoover dam so like you can go through boulder city and see that these are like you know non-vegas things you can do but you definitely have to see when you're there and then just avoid the circus circus all together all together don't don't go to circus circus whatever you do because it's just it's just not good all right you mixed it and don't there okay so then we've got the saturday with the hoover dim and and my husband and i are nerds so we're gonna do the actual tour underneath to go in the tunnels and everything yes we've been investigating that the lake me we're taking our hiking shoes hopefully to get to red rock if it's not too busy but then on friday so we're we're starting at the mob museum we've got a personal tour guide in chicago johnny who's going to give us the tour he's called the show twice he's so excited i think he's working on kind of a surprise because he asked me my favorite color anyway uh so after after that where should we go for a buffet because we want to do the i know it's cheesy but we want to do one of the classic buffets yeah i know that i mean the caesars buffet is probably one of the the best ones and that's classic i mean that because these have been around forever i mean i don't know anything about i know you guys are talking about belagio and win i've never been to those like fancy fruit fruit buffets but i mean if you want to go like off and i heard you say the rio's buffet is closed which is totally total garbage because that's actually a good one that's off the strip and it's not like too crazy but if you can get to one of those off strip ones okay really want like an old school buffet like you know you go over to like the the even to the suncoast which is out to the west or you go to the south where you got because i know you guys are staying in luxor but there's a another place down there where um they have a buffet and it's escaping me what's the south point that's what it is yeah so that's another one too so all those are are good but if you want a really good like good steakhouse i mean this is i mean i don't want to get fancy but the golden steer steakhouse i've heard yeah golden steer yeah yeah and and someone told me that's where uh there's a table for frank sinatra uh that is that is correct it might still be there i don't know plus the bootlegger is really good by you guys i told you that via twitter that's a good italian place and the batistas is a really good place that you can go to as well you order from the wall they give you unlimited chianti um it's amazing it's a very it's got great hashtag vegas vegas vibe like like you want so that'll be good so what i've heard is that when there are huge events in town you're best to stay away from the strip as much as possible now we do want to walk it we do want to see the fountains at bellagio and all that stuff but in terms of strip versus kind of being off strip what what's your recommendation yeah i would say i mean anywhere that you go um that is just a little bit west of the strip is going to be fine so as i mentioned like you said the rio is a great place if you want to go to the palm um that's another one that is good if you i mean if you're talking about hotels i mean obviously we already talked about all the you know other stuff but um if you can get to like a local place like it's called pt's pub there's like 62 of them around and sierra gold those are like really good places to just get like you know like a kind of a sports bar but also kind of hang out and kind of a local place those are really good places too another good breakfast place is hash house a go hash house a go-go on sahara that's what does that even mean hash house a go-go all i know is the plates are bigger than my head that's so big if you want a pancake man i mean you are just like that's it forget about it that place is crazy oh that sounds awesome now i we'd had some people suggest a couple of like quick food options now i totally laughed at people who said fast food because i'm thinking why am i going all the way to vegas for fast food but people had said uh for for like the dirt dogs for like a hot dog that turns into a meal as well as tacos al gordo but you actually recommended to me some burger places are you serious do i really have to eat them whatever well you have to the whole thing is if you've never had an in-and-out burger you have to have a double double and california yeah it started in southern california they actually have a bunch of locations in las vegas now but um but the double double is just that's the classic and then you can do that then you can do the secret menu where you can they have like an animal style they throw onions on it or i want to do a three by three you can get three patties and three slices of cheese i mean it's amazing and there's a and there's an in and out right there in tropicana and um uh just just to the west of the strip so it's really close to the stadium so oh my gosh how do you like the influx of pro sports now with the new not just the new allegiance stadium but also t-mobile arena and the golden knights and i mean there's been all kinds of new stuff built there for sports so i gotta tell you like i'm i'm getting chills as you're talking to me right now because as a kid we had nothing 1990 the unlv running rebels won the national championship it was an amazing moment for me as a kid and for our entire town i thought there was never going to be sports here because the gambling this and that and then the raiders the golden knights came and then the raiders came and then the aces and then you know the a's are coming and now the super bowl and i'm like this is amazing so i am loving it as a vegas native and i have to go do some weather right now otherwise they're going to fire me but i i love the show you guys are going to be great text me email me i'll be happy to give you all the info that you need awesome thank you justin chambers and he is in baltimore doing his weather so we can let him go you're the best all right thanks have a good one all right he's like i need to go right now or i'm going to get fired uh let's see i want to give you his you can pot that down colton before we get a weather report on our show as well uh you i just if you want to find him on twitter it's jctv weather and if you're in baltimore i know we have a lot of people who listen on 105 7 the fan uh give him a follow on twitter because he is awesome jctv weather i just want to make sure yeah justin chambers and what is his fox 45 in baltimore so watch him right now actually if you're in baltimore turn it on fox 45 the morning meteorologist and he's in baltimore for three years and so we've connected mostly just because he listens to the show in the morning and we've had a lot of fun he always lets me know when there's snow on the horizon um just i need the snow and so he's the one who lets me know it's working its way up the east coast eight five five two one two four two two seven derek is listening in san diego derek welcome to after hours amy how are you i'm good thank you good well i'm really happy to hear that you have a guided tour for the positive i called you a couple of nights ago okay you gotta go because i was just there yeah chicago johnny he was listening to us last week and actually called up and on the air dropped the bomb that he is one of the tour guides one of the greeters we've got the whole thing set up now we're gonna meet him on friday morning that is so cool you're gonna have a great time that's awesome i can't wait to go back so uh on another topic things that we need to see before we die as sports fans so i grew up in salem oregon i've been an oregon duck football fan since 1988 okay junior year in high school so i've seen this pseudo meteoric rise of the duck football program and gosh darn it amy i need to see a natty i've got to see a national championship for the oregon ducks before i die and i was so proud of dan laning because you know as soon as nick savon retired like that was that was it we already had mario crystal ball leave for miami and before that we had that knucklehead that went to florida state that left us um and and i loved the social media post that he put out that said hey the grass is a greener i'm here to stay my wife loves it my kids love it and i think he's the guy i think it's the guy i think it's gonna happen well yeah so so how are you feeling about the move though to a different conference so getting away from the pac-12 do you think it's going to change things you know i i think it's going to be even better okay the the you know the washington and oregon going to the big 10 i don't know i don't know if they're going to like that because uh two solid football programs i think they're going to do just fine i think that's going to help recruiting even more and i thought it was kind of funny though a little bit that the pac-12 dissolved and at one point during the year i think there were seven or eight out of the 12 that were in the top 25 so the pac-12 picked uh the commissioners and and whoever runs that circus picked a bad year to dissolve the pac-12 seems like impossibly poor timing and yet the way that some of the decisions have been made around the pac-12 it actually fits right in uh with what their history has been the whole media that was a media mess but i mean we know the ducks have gotten close the marcus mariota year was as close as they got right and it was huge but can they then boost their profile the big 10 i think you're right i mean the big 10 is happy to have them because they bring not just the west coast recruiting not just the the fan base from a different part of the country but also they've been competitive now for what would you say a decade and a half a couple decades like super competitive yeah absolutely i mean the ducks have been the ducks have been really good for about 15 years and then in the last 10 to 12 years like really really good so i think it's going to help and um i i'm i'm i'm really looking forward to it i think it's going to be tough uh and i actually thought it was funny that that usc and ucla were the first uh teams to uh leave the conference because uh at least ucla they're going to struggle good luck and good luck to usc it's not it's it's not going to be pleasant for them but i think oregon and washington are going to do just fine i really do you know what oregon's rise reminds me of gonzaga and how close they've come they've been a power now for as you point out about 15 years or so gonzaga has been one of the top teams in the country routinely for the last last 10 to 15 years mark few has built that program so that it's a competitor he's been there obviously for all of it which is a major difference they've come so close right so close oh my gosh yeah to have a lot of heartache and disappointment so all right we'll see we'll put it on the list eric okay take care yes thank you we're asking you this morning in light of the u.s men's national team starting its quest for another world cup or its quest to win its world cup okay just the moment would be unforgettable uh that's coming up in 2026 on us soil so this is the time but in 2015 i asked you the same question what sports moment are you desperate to see before you die very vividly in fact i made a list i remember the top three and number one is the u.s men winning a world cup but the other two in that top three have already happened in fact they happened pretty quickly after we did the list it was like speaking it into existence you're gonna hear those moments coming up and then some of your suggestions too on twitter a law radio also on our facebook page after hours with amy lawrence in 2015 we did an entire show and you all blew up our social media and our phones with the one sports memory that you desperately wanted to witness in your lifetime and we had answers of all shapes and sizes but number one by far i wrote it down i remember number one by far was the u.s men's national team winning a world cup now the women have done it we as americans want to see the men win a world cup so i say 2026 is optimal it's perfect it's happening i believe i believe that i know the american outlaws that's what they're called you all are singing it along with me okay number two on that list happened the year later a little bouncer slowly toward brian he will glover and throw to riso it's in time and the chicago cubs win the world series the cubs come pouring out of the dugout jumping up and down like a bunch of delirious 10 year olds the cubs have done it that's the call with pat hughes on cubs radio that moment was number two on our list you all wanted to see the chicago cubs end their drought and win their first world series and they did it after 108 years number three on the list you guys this actually happened months later months after we did the show your number three sports moment that you desperately wanted to witness my number two actually we also saw it with our own eyes and they're into the stretch and american carol makes his run for glory as they come into the final furlong frosted is second with one eighth of a mile to go american pharaoh's got a two-leg lead frosted is all out at the 16th pole and here it is the 37-year wait is over american pharaoh is finally the one american pharaoh has won the triple crown and actually even though we didn't let it play there larry comas who is the voice of the triple crown on nbc sports i mean he's so good and i get chills like nobody's business i've watched it and listened to it multiple times since i got to work last night and even hearing it again just covers me with chills i can remember the last time i watched it which would have been probably the year after and of course i can remember uh the when it was happening where i was i cried i had never seen a triple crown and it finally happened right we finally got the first one um and and the 37-year drought i guess i shouldn't say i'd never seen it i never watched it of course i was alive the last time uh that one happened but to be able to witness it and watch it and be cognizant of the history was phenomenal that horse captured the heart of america american pharaoh and you should go back and watch it again you hear it but you should go back and watch it because it's it's awesome so those two items came off the list well i mean why can't the us men win a world cup then we does we did the show we spoke it into existence american pharaoh won the triple crown we've actually had two triple crowns since then right and then the cubs won the world series let's go so a lot of you browns fans are showing up to say the browns need to win a super bowl and actually i don't have my piece of paper anymore or maybe it's at home somewhere preserved but i'm pretty sure that the cavaliers winning an nba championship was on that list too and they did actually beat the warriors right coming back from a 3-1 deficit so what else what else out there needs to happen we've seen some great tweets alaw radio as well as on our facebook page after hours with amy lawrence eight five five two one two four two two seven let's talk to connor who's in california connor welcome to the show hey thanks for having me on amy uh first time caller awesome time listener thank you finally get to talk to you yeah you too so i would like to see the 49ers win the super bowl and here's the thing because i'm 16 so i have not been alive since 1995 right of course uh yeah but so it would be nice to see them finally uh win the super bowl it's crazy in my lifetime yeah people forget because they've been to a handful since then but they haven't actually won one since the mid 90s so it's it's been a long time i know they're likely a sentimental favorite for that reason but also because people are getting tired of the chiefs how confident are you feeling considering how the chiefs are playing now um i think they should win this i mean i think the running game is most important in this mccaffrey just has to step up yes he always does as usual but i'm feeling pretty confident about this are you we got it yeah well i like that like the confidence they need that are you laughing at all the ridiculous criticism of brock purty yeah i totally am yeah totally am but he's an amazing guy and we need to be more thankful to have him on our roster he's so yeah and i just i i don't like what's going on right now with all this uh criticism about such an amazing quarterback yeah but i know you're up against it wait no hold on though i have to ask you one more question connor can i ask you one more question what are you doing awake at 250 in the morning i was uh i was prepared to ask that i'm a tough sleeper so yeah it's too early to start that at 16 okay yeah i listen to you a lot oh good well we're happy to keep you company when you can't sleep yeah well i'm happy to be here for the company awesome okay well i hope you get back to sleep though that's the thing i hope i do too all right connor go niners just for you thank you very much appreciate it you're welcome have a great rest of your show thank you that's awesome except i feel bad poor guy i have sleep issues myself and 16 is way too early to start that so let's hope connor falls asleep listening to the show just not this week as the niners are getting closer to a super bowl also go chiefs too because i don't want people to yell at me for for saying go niners over go chiefs i just want connor to be happy and be able to sleep like a baby maybe not the night that it would happen but right after kip is also listening in california kip welcome to after hours cbs sports radio hi hi amy and i have a few stories to tell first i went to the first super bowl but it wasn't called the super bowl do you know what it was called was it called the nfl championship it was called the afl nfl championship okay gotcha you know how much the ticket cost no six dollars i still have the ticket that's amazing today it would be like nine thousand dollars and it was in the la coliseum and six thousand was the end zone and they had barbed wire between the end zone and the premium ten dollar seats but you could crawl through the barbed wire because it didn't sell out so i went from the six dollar seats to the ten dollar seats on the 30 yard line that's an amazing memory but anyway uh i've been to two super bowls i went to that one the afl nfl championship in 1967 and then i went to the steelers and the seahawks in detroit and i had 10 large because my flight took me through las vegas and i put 10 grand down on the sealers to win uh i think by seven and a half and uh they did they covered and that paid for the flight in the hotel but uh the place i like to bet is actually in reno um there's this kind of dive saloon the kind of place where the sports fork has beer and a hot dog for a dollar and a half oh my gosh you know if you're gonna bet ten thousand dollars you want the dollar and a half beer i guess the more of that dollar and a half beer you drink the more you're willing to bet that kind of money and the other thing is i think the big ten doesn't know what it's getting into in oregon because i've been to the rose bowl about three or four times i went the first time barry alvarez took wisconsin to the rose bowl in 1994 on january 1st wow such great memories uh 10 family members and i had to buy 10 tickets it cost me like three thousand dollars for three hundred dollar tickets to go but it was great kip that sounds awesome i'm so sorry we have to let you go because we're at the top of the hour but you call us with your memories anytime thank you i'm so sorry i hate to cut people off but we literally are in the last 45 seconds of the show and the show
