The nether reaches of your brain or when you're trying to remember someone's name. Have you ever happened where you can see a particular actor or entertainer in your mind but you cannot remember the person's name? Or maybe it happens with your friends I suppose.

If you have a lot of friends they might get confused in your mind. I was just looking for a simple word to describe the series between the Brewers and the Reds and versions would have been okay. Different versions of that particular rivalry. Iterations would be another great word. If I was really brilliant that would be the word I would have come up with.

So that's what I meant. The pictures duel on Wednesday. There were some tight battles as well between the Reds and the Brewers. Ultimately Milwaukee takes two of three from Cincinnati and maintains that lead atop the NL Central Division. Talking is not supposed to be this hard.

But I will say it is extremely humbling because when you make a mistake well you know there's no hiding or when you can't come up with a word there's no teleprompter like Anchorman had and was so desperately reliant upon his teleprompter. It's After Hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS Sports Radio for better or for worse. We've got a lot of football to get to. Football on the global stage with the Americans in the spotlight playing to a draw with the Dutch in the Women's World Cup that taking place in New Zealand. Lindsay Heran the captain for Team USA scoring in the second half because she was in her words pissed.

Got into a bit of a shoving match with one of her club teammates who happens to be in Netherlands orange and so after that she was supremely motivated. I kind of feel like Travis Kelsey would be really impressed. Speaking of Travis Kelsey did you all hear that he tried to give Taylor Swift his phone number and apparently it was a no-fly zone for Travis Kelsey.

Who the fuck is that guy? He went to her concert and tried somehow to give her a friendship bracelet. I don't know if you know these bracelets that are given out or that are shared with Taylor at the concert. Tried to give her a friendship bracelet with his number on it and as he tells the story he at least gave it to security and it somehow got through to Taylor Swift's people but he was informed then after the fact that Taylor was on very limited well she she's on vocal rest.

She had very limited interaction which I can say has happened to me in the past before too. She's doing all these concerts everywhere you can imagine. She's not really talking a whole lot outside of her performances because this is a pretty strenuous performance schedule. I can understand being on vocal rest and having limited conversation so apparently Travis Kelsey got the proverbial door slammed in his face.

Know your role and shut your mouth you jabroni. Now that won't work with Taylor Swift. I wonder if Taylor knows what a jabroni is. I'm gonna go with no since I didn't know although she is much cooler than me. Anyway kind of funny that uh even Travis Kelsey will strike out now and then.

You gotta fight for your right to party. Could you see Travis Kelsey and Taylor Swift? Weirdly kind of a little bit. I don't think it'd be that bad. I think they'd be a good power couple.

Do you? He seems pretty hyper to me. Because she's got like that worldwide status but she's very like what her image is very polished it's very put together and he's got this kind of wild side where like he she'd be good for him with the polish and he'd be good for her with the wild side. I could see it being a good connection. Does he realize that every single time she goes through a breakup she writes music about the dude? Yeah there's that he'd have to understand that fact. He'd be an album.

Maybe he'd like it though. She'd call the album 88. What's his number? 80 whatever 81. Whatever number he is in the 80s. Whatever Travis Kelsey's number is. That'd be the album. That'd be the album. Oh gotcha. He definitely he definitely is a media star right now so maybe it would help his status.

Well I'd say anyone in sports who's connected with Taylor Swift it probably would. Have you tried the number again? Would you like to try again?

I would. It was 87. I said all the other ones. Did you look it up? Yeah I had to look it up. Oh okay. I knew it was in the 80s but. Got it all right.

I just wanted to give you another shot at it. 87. I highly doubt Taylor Swift knows his number either so and actually apparently on the New Heights podcast with his which is Travis and his brother Jason. Travis was telling the story and Jason made the snarky response of what your jersey number or your phone number and Travis was like you know.

Oh that's funny. I love Travis Kelsey. Going back to earlier in the week when we asked you the one sports figure that you would like to hear from for an entire week if you could only have one who was in your ear or on your tv for an entire week who would it be and a bunch of you did respond with Travis Kelsey or Jason Kelsey or the two of them together. Oh absolutely. I'm not listening to their podcast in the off season though they have continued it but I discovered it late last year and it is a gem.

It's a gemstone. It's a hoot. The problem is it's two plus hours sometimes and it takes them forever to get to football. I want to hear them talk about football what happened during the week especially when they were both on their their postseason runs and ended up in the Super Bowl and it takes them forever to get to football. So yeah you kind of have to fast forward, skip through it, skim through it.

Oh like you might do with my podcast if there's particular parts or segments that you want to hear. So Travis Kelsey try again. Try try again.

If at first you don't succeed you never know. Maybe your number will get through to Taylor Swift. You should know him because he's arguably your biggest rival.

Oh that is yeah that's Cincy. He's a dawg. Maybe if Travis Kelsey tries something like John Cusack in Say Anything. Almost at asking me anything in Say Anything. Are you familiar with that scene? That iconic movie scene?

No I love John Cusack but no. Just look it up look it up Say Anything with the boombox. Yeah okay I got you now. Okay if Travis Kelsey would try something like that now he might get arrested or thrown off the property but he is loud enough that I would think that he could serenade her boombox or no. Do you think he uses one of her songs to serenade her with? I think that would be the move. Yeah yeah that would have to be the move. You definitely don't want to sing a song from one of the other pop stars out there. That doesn't seem like it would be the right thing to do. So I wonder if he could come up with I mean my favorite Taylor Swift song is We Are Never Getting Back Together but that probably wouldn't be appropriate but I would say any Taylor Swift song that he can belt out would be impressive.

He could do Shake It Off and like a play as if like hey I'm shaking off that first time you were rejected me so here I am back I shook it off and let's do it. Oh funny stuff that would be really cute. I would hope that someone would have a cell phone video of that so that we could all revel in it.

I think there'd be much documentation of that. It's After Hours with Amy Lawrence here on CBS Sports Radio. I have to catch a flight in 20 oh no what am I talking about I have to catch a flight in 11 hours so I need the thunderstorms and the potentially severe weather that are making their way toward New Jersey again of course of course. I can't fly on a day when it's dry because that would be too much to ask. I did get a notification from American Airlines that I could change my flight for free. Also they were preemptively offering hundreds of dollars in credits if I would change flights but I'm not doing that. Anyway trying to get to Houston have to go through Dallas already have been warned that potential severe weather in the northeast could could cause a delay or cancellation of my flight.

Well okay so there's that stress. That's what I'm dealing with in the next 11 hours which means there's no way I will be able to take a nap of any sort before I have to get to the airport. Not that getting there earlier is going to help me any because the flight is still scheduled to take off at two o'clock eastern time.

I'm hoping though that it's before the severe weather rolls in or maybe the severe weather dissipates entirely because that is what I'm praying. And the flight takes off on time or a few minutes later uh-oh why are you looking at the weather right now? I am. Is that why you're making that face? It's not a bad face.

Oh it's not a good face. What time's your flight around 11 eastern time? No my flight's at two o'clock eastern time.

11 hours from now. That's a little bit of an increase in the percentage of precipitation. Are you looking at Newark? In Newark yeah.

Go ahead lay it on me. At two o'clock it's 39 percent but the winds are a little high 16 mile an hour gusts. I don't care about the winds it just means that you you might uh have a bit of turbulence on your way up or down.

Winds are no issue. Well these are not 40 or 50 mile per hour winds. It's the thunderstorms. If they hit at the exact moment that my flight is supposed to take off the pilots are not going to take off and what could potentially be lightning. So if the if the storms are still off in the distance you know that very often pilots will take off and then just fly around them.

Take a bit of a detour and go. Have you ever seen a thunderstorm from the air? So you're flying by it and the thunderstorm is off in the distance somewhere. It is amazing. At night it's phenomenal. You can see these huge clouds these thunder boomers and lightning in the middle of them.

If you've ever seen that flying at night it's pretty incredible but they're not going to take off in the middle of a thunderstorm. What I did find out is that my flight from Dallas to Houston is not the last one. So there is another one at least one more after that. So if I get delayed out of Newark and I'm late getting into Dallas I'm not checking your bag there is a later flight. That's good. So you have an insurance. I guess yeah I I suppose.

I mean it could be full in which case that would not help me but guess who's coming to get me if that's the case. Hi Bob. Hi Bob. If Bob in fact does have to drive all the way to Dallas I'll definitely be paying for gas and food because that would stink but at least I'd be in the state of Texas. Yeah you're there. I mean so the key is just to to get the plane off the ground out of Newark. Just get to the Lone Star State and we'll deal with it after that. I think you'll be good you'll be good because it's the the severity of the storms aren't supposed to come until a little later in the afternoon. So when you're supposed to leave it's right at the beginning of when they're supposed to come.

So they might not even be here yet they might not even be here by then so. Good Jay. Speaking good things into the existence.

That's very encouraging I appreciate that. It's after hours CBS Sports Radio speaking of good things and gifts gifts and surprises. I'm hoping for some surprises on Thursday. Justin Herbert reporting to Chargers training camp and even though he does not want to talk about his contract everybody else wants to talk about his contract. Now the highest paid player in NFL history when we're talking average annual value 52 and a half million dollars per year over the life of this extension which is most in football. So thankful to the Chargers organization, the Spanos family, Tom Tolesco for believing in me three years ago and Ed McGuire, Katie Sylvan you know words aren't enough to to express how thankful and how glad I am to be a part of this organization and I had complete faith in them from the get-go and you know I've I've never wanted to be anywhere else this is where I've wanted to be for shoot as long as I've been born and playing football so it's a it's a dream come true and you know just really excited to be back out there with the team today. That's cool and you may remember or even if you didn't we played a drop on our last show where Justin pre-draft was talking about how he's always been a Chargers fan so that's really cool.

There are actually lifelong Chargers fans and Justin Herbert is one of them and potentially could change the narrative around the Chargers right? Earlier in the spring we did a show in which we asked you which teams are the ones that stumble, bumble, ultimately crumble and break our hearts every time. That's their reputation. They build us up, they get us to believe and then they drop us like a hot potato.

Splat. It's always the same and many people said the Chargers whether San Diego whether Los Angeles and remember the last we saw the Chargers they were coughing up choking away forfeiting a 27 point lead in the wild card round of the postseason. They were up 27 points on the Jaguars in the first half and lost and so this is what the Chargers do. They fool their fans, they fool people into believing that they're legit and they're a contender and then they blow up they find new ways to lose. That's their reputation.

Justin Herbert is out to change that. So going into 2023 they did make the playoffs last year which is big. They're returning most of their starters which also helps with continuity and consistency. If you missed the conversation that we had with Chargers senior writer Eric Smith the link is posted on both Twitter and Facebook. We talked to him about Justin and his growth, about Austin Eckler, also about Joey Bosa because he was hurt when he missed 11-12 games last season. So his status plus their brand new offensive coordinator in Kellen Moore. So there's a lot of buzz around the Chargers and into the middle of all of that Justin Herbert's contract for 52 and a half million dollars per year. I think there's a lot of good that we can do with it. You know giving back to the community here the the city of Los Angeles has supported us so much and especially Eugene and my family and all the coaches and players and teammates that I've grown up with and have gotten me to this position.

So you know I'll never forget where I came from and those people that helped me along the way. We have so much audio from our QBs and it's it's really pertinent audio so we really have more than we can do in a QB news. We'll get to a QB news in our next hour but coming up before we get to the end of this hour in fact next Tua reacts to Justin Herbert's contract. Tua obviously wants to get through this entire season healthy. He's had a couple of minor injuries going back but the concussions that's that's what derailed him last year and it was scary.

It was scary for him, for his family, certainly scary for the Dolphins and the the football fan base. So he has spent the off season trying to not only recover completely but trying to put himself in situations where he makes better choices about running the football or taking hits and how he lowers his head and how he gets tackled when he's out there on the football field. Really smart guy but Tua has got a real solid head on his shoulders and so I'm excited to see him on the football field but yeah of course Joe Burrow's getting asked about his contract he does not he's not want to talk about it. Tua's getting asked about a contract as well I mean this is what happens it's kind of a never-ending cycle of next guy up right so you'll hear from Tua a little bit later you'll hear from Joe Burrow. We've also got Jimmy Garoppolo excited to be back at practice after his injury but he's been cleared. My goodness Sam Howe with the commanders and how about a little Daniel Jones on the heels of not just Saquon Barkley being in camp now with his contract his franchise tender but also Daniel's top offensive lineman huge extension for Andrew Thomas too so a lot that we will mix in. I know though you're waiting on the Staphon Diggs so we'll get to that back half of the hour because it I think it's fascinating to hear what he has to say about not only should we call it a conflict conflict's a big broad word it was enough of a conflict that he left OTAs so there was a conflict to be sure whether it was with Sean McDermott whether it was with Josh Allen there was a conflict enough that he left the facility he left the property and Josh was concerned so now we hear from Diggs for the first time but also he responds to this idea that he's not getting enough looks he's not getting enough throws to him and that he wants to be involved in play calling really good stuff from Staphon Diggs. You can find me on Twitter A Law Radio our Facebook page too we're glad to have you with us as we say goodbye hump day and more far away into a Thursday. I am not not going to stress about my flight while I'm here talking about sports it's nope it's not a thing it's after hours with Amy Lawrence CBS. The second half of the baseball season is here and each game means a little little bit more we're talking pennant races and wildcard chases with each pitch bringing us closer to the playoffs the free odyssey app lets you listen to live play-by-play of your local team so no matter what you're up to you'll never have to miss another game download the free odyssey app today and keep baseball close by all summer long that's a-u-d-a-c-y odyssey sports radio you are listening to the after hours podcast play action back to throw to a pressure gets away throw deep down wide open holland he's got the 15 to 10 and he's out the five yard he tiptoed down the end they say he's in bounds they'll look at this of course but a 65 yard touchdown this is after hours with Amy Lawrence on Dolphins radio Tua Tanga Valoa was in and out of the lineup last year still the Dolphins made progress in Mike McDaniel's first season now imagine what they can do if they've got their their starting quarterback their franchise quarterback the entire time so last year they went nine and eight they did end up with a wild card spot but Tua spent not just the latter portion of the season but also the offseason trying to figure out how to protect himself better to take hits that won't result in concussions and to be sure he's healed completely it was scary early in the season to see the impact the concussions at least one more than likely two had on him and now he says he's fresh and he's ready to go it's after hours with Amy Lawrence CBS Sports Radio of course Justin Herbert's new contract is what every quarterback is being asked to react to especially guys who would be in line for a deal which is Tua it's big big I think it's uh you know first off congrats to him and congrats to Jalen as well earlier on his contract I think it's I think it's really good for the quarterback market that's what I would say it's really good for the quarterback market you know gets me excited gets me going so to love to hear his voice too he sounds good he sounds like he's ready to go to if you remember was the backup quarterback for a while to Jalen Hurts at Alabama they went back and forth a little bit there was a quarterback competition ultimately one by two though Jalen ended up having to spell him late in his first season as starter Jalen then graduated and went on to play at Oklahoma and Tua was there at at Alabama after the fact and so they know each other well and he congratulates Jalen Hurts who had the 255 million dollar extension in April and then Justin Hurberts topped that 262 and a half so then next up would be Joe Burrow but you can imagine that this time next year Tua will be part of that conversation as well and part of the narrative as well though we're not quite to that point yet I haven't talked about any contracts since what I've understood with you know my fifth year extension so I don't think that's a worry of mine that's when when things come they'll come because you either deserved it or it's supposed to happen that way Tua was actually drafted right in front of Justin Herbert in 2020 so you had those guys go five and six and he did play some really impressive football when he was healthy last year despite missing a bunch of games about a third of the season he had career highs in passing yards and touchdowns he was also one of the top QBs in the league in terms of quarterback rating now certainly helps when you have weapons around you Jalen Waddle Tyreek Hill Tyreek the number one reason why I won my fantasy football championship last year and remember this year Tyreek's goal is to eclipse 2,000 yards passing to be the first receiver ever to do that they definitely did have a connection right off the top and and let's not forget what Mike McDaniel brings to the table people call him this offensive savant right he's he's super creative he came from the San Francisco stable under Kyle Shanahan he's quirky I'm here too okay to say the least he's quirky who would you rather hear from Mike McDaniel or Dan Campbell so Mike Tomlin's next level but if you could only hear from one coach next year I was like hey Mike McDaniel sometimes I have no idea what he's talking about he really does march to the beat of a different drummer Dean Campbell's just a fanatic but I he speaks my language my motto in life Manny Rodriguez is here in studio my motto in life are you ready late on fine people who are your kind of crazy fine people in life who are your kind of crazy I swear to God I'm not a lunatic Dan Campbell's my kind of crazy audience can't see right now but I'm nodding my head in agreement yeah that's great for radio it's good radio and nod your head yes but but that's a good that's a great point I mean match that's that's something that people don't find the other person that can really match their craziness I feel like that's something that people forget to look for when you're looking for a significant other not yours but it should be part of an online dating profile not that I've ever done that but it could it be a some yeah the bio should read crazy my kind of crazy needs to match my level of crazy are you my kind of crazy I don't know later yeah I don't know if that'll get you many swipes or swipes right as Mike McDaniel just said but yeah match was it any online dating thing is it swipe left or right um I believe it's a tendency to swipe right I haven't been on in about you know X amount of years now so X amount of years have you found someone who is your kind of crazy I think so all right sweet we got to find Jay someone who's his kind of crazy watch Jay are you crazy at all though maybe you need to up your level of crazy so that you can find a girl who is your kind of crazy a little crazy you're you're not looking for crazy girl not looking for crazy town well I will say that when I do like when I do things I tend to be more spontaneous like I don't like planning like as much as I just like don't like like I wake up on a Saturday and be like hey let's go here and then I'll do it like I'd rather do it that way then kind of plan it and like think about it all week so yeah to be fair it's more often the other way around Jay will have an idea and then cuz Saturday will come and he'll be like yeah never mind that's why I don't make plans because I'm feeling in the mood in the moment you know I can relate to that he's got to be in the mood you know then you got to cancel stuff you got to send texts you don't want to so like if I want to do it I'll call you and then we'll go okay I'm sure every chick would be thrilled to have that if I want to do something I'll call you might as well just sit around and wait for me because I'm not making any plans just be ready be by your phone and that's how we're gonna do this hey I mean it sounds like it offers no one could refuse better than make plans better than getting two tickets for like you know a Yankee game in two weeks and start thinking about that for two weeks right botch right it's just too much it's too much going on I'll do it if it's Saturday and I want to the Yankee game I'll go the Yankee game on Saturday morning I make that decision then is that how you travel as well when I'm if I was alone yeah that's probably what how I do it I tend to when I travel my family mom's really into booking stuff and planning so she works a lot of it out you know very often if you wait till the last second you're paying a lot more money though yeah for travel mm-hmm that's a fact that is the benefit of planning ahead it's just a tad but maybe not maybe I'm sure there is a female out there who wants to do the same thing doesn't want to plan doesn't want to plan at all and prefers to just fly by the seat of her pants well for travel it's like oh you know travel you got to have some sort of like a plan so that's it's really just more like weekend spontaneous like or anything like that so don't in other words women don't expect Jay to ask you out on a date he's just gonna call you up and be like yo let's go I don't care if there are other plans chivalrous you know it's chivalrous but no you don't plan your chivalry well hmm spontaneous chivalry I guess it's not really chivalrous if it's planned and it's more like stage chivalry you know just got to happen it could just be a character quality your chivalrous and so regardless of whether it's planned or spontaneous it's always a factor if I'm planning to be chivalrous that's a little that's like cunning you know it just has to happen does it yeah you can't be like oh I'm gonna be chivalrous towards this girl yes you can like me like it just has to you just have to naturally be chivalrous no well naturally yes but it doesn't mean that you don't plan on being chivalrous it's always you always plan on being chivalrous okay think about it am I the only one who's hearing him contradict himself now okay Jay I want you to find someone in your life who is your kind of crazy that's all okay that's all all right we're going to botch one more from to up before we get to our break he actually isn't content with what he did last year and you could imagine missing the time that he did he feels like he wants to get back out there on the field and prove that he's worthy of the next big deal I think for myself I'm always a person that wants to prove to myself that I deserve whatever I get and so you know for for me I feel like this is something that I need to work for it's plain as simple as that it's just plain and simple I like it work for your supper sing for your supper work for your dinner I wish he succeeds man he's been dealt a bad hand so far yeah he's awesome I just got this tweet from Christie are you ready this is fun listening to your show heard you're flying into DFW which is Dallas you are correct you might have issues when you get into Dallas if there's weather in the northeast so I have a layover in Dallas right I have to go to Houston she says I'm a Lyft driver if you need any assistance please let me know that's a three-hour lift right actually from Dallas to you said it's five hours I would never ask a Lyft driver to take me to Houston sounds expensive but maybe maybe meeting Bob halfway so Bob doesn't have to drive the entire way or even get on the road meet you an hour down the road that's chivalrous right there oh well it's also a requirement if you're in a relationship that I would do it for him so if I get stuck and I can't get a flight out until the next day you really think he's gonna leave me stranded when I'm in the same state I would hope not what you wouldn't do that for your girl would you Manny look at your face are you actually considering leaving her in an airport a few hours down the road how much time is left in the next game thank god I'm not dating either one of you all teams oh my gosh thank god I'm not dating either one of you I'm just I'm so grateful for you Bob so grateful thank you Bob anyway uh coming up next Stefan Diggs finally speaks about a family issue with the Buffalo Bills it's after hours on CBS sports radio I don't claim either one of these two you are listening to the after hours podcast Steph is not here um everybody else is here at the current time oh very concerned very concerned internally we're we're working on some things um not football related but you know Steph he's my guy I excuse my love him he's a brother of mine you know this does not work what we're doing here without him you know we wish he was in here today and was out there on the field with us and that's that's not the case but I've got his back no matter what this is after hours with Amy Lawrence the voices of Bills coach Sean McDermott along with Josh Allen was that May May or June if you could let me know because I do remember it was a topic to be sure when Stefan Diggs was there at the facility for an OTA but left before the team practiced and the ensuing questions as well as McDermott's comments Josh Allen reassuring everyone that he loves Diggs he bleeping loves that guy he said it more than once in mid-June thank you Jay but we hadn't heard from Diggs himself the Bills top receiver reported for training camp and finally took his turn in front of the microphone on Wednesday it's after hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS sports radio so exactly why was he frustrated during those OTAs I don't know if anybody has a family here everybody has family issues everybody has family problems in the house like I was here I did have a conversation with coach you know and I like to keep things in the house I'm saying like as a player in this I've been in the league I'm going on my ninth year right now I'm saying I'm in a very I got more football behind me than I do in front of me my main focus and my only focus is winning Super Bowls is is I mean everybody say they want a Super Bowl but we've had legitimate chances at this thing like we've had the team we've had the coaches we've had everything that we needed and as far as us not getting over the hump I feel like it's always asked for a cause for a conversation you know and I always wanted to have a conversation and we have an open door policy coach will tell you has an open door policy and I've had those conversations so I try to keep a lot of things in house but I'm saying it's regarding last year obviously the way we lost was was just terrible in any regard you know and you don't want to lose any game but we've lost for a couple years at this point and we've been trying to get over the hump and obviously it calls for a lot of frustration but uh all in all like as far as with that I was here where he did have a conversation me and him did have a conversation it's all water under the bridge now but I could I attribute it to like I mean family matters I'm saying like I don't like dancing around things I don't like I don't like those kind of questions this Diggs I don't know if you want to call it a press conference these comments from Diggs went on for 20 minutes and he had a lot to say there were certainly a lot of questions so it wasn't just him but ultimately he referred to his absence from the one practice as a family matter and referred to it as water under the bridge this was Diggs clearing the air and it's full speed ahead now he he and the team coach McDermott indicating they got no problems all is well uh water on the bridge now we back at work and you know I look at football you know it's kind of hard it's a business at the end of the day but when you go out there and you fight tooth and nail you put a lot of sweat equity into this thing it starts to feel like a family so for me um I kind of feel like a family so for me um I kind of keep everything in the house you understand but at the end of the day we had those conversations everything that would need it to be said was said and we talked it out as men everybody involved we're in a good spot and and uh and uh Steph is ready to practice he's in the locker room now and um and I put in a lot of hard work this summer so team's ready to go um looking forward to get out here to practice I think my favorite portion my favorite part of what Diggs had to say in addition to him explaining sort of I get it because these guys are these guys are they're together a lot right they have strong personalities many of them a lot of them are alpha males you got big egos involved it's a variety of backgrounds and cultures ethnicities ways of living life choices decisions all of that the NFL has huge locker rooms it's like a melting pot if you will and everybody has to come together for a common goal but it doesn't mean they always get along that would be naive and ludicrous who would expect an active roster of 53 then you've got inactive players practice squad players dozens of coaches and support staff the travel party is enormous for an NFL team but just in the locker room alone you're talking about 70 people 70 players and then throw coaches in the mix so of course they're not all gonna see eye to eye they're not all gonna get along it doesn't mean they can't still work together I mean I had teammates that I didn't love in fact I downright disliked but part of being on a team is putting a lot of that aside personal preferences your your clicks very often can ruin a team you got to be able to communicate even if you don't get along you have to be able to work together even if you don't like the people that you're playing with again that's what I always loved about teamwork is people put aside their own personal feelings their own personal wants desires goals for the good of the team and that's essentially what Diggs is saying is it's like a family it's a family matter but I also appreciated that he had a response when reporters came to and said hey there's been some talk you know I heard it from a friend oh my gosh that it was about you feeling like you weren't used enough in the offense that you weren't getting enough work especially at the end of last year when the bills bowed out of the playoffs that is insane like for me like even yeah I'm just saying like for me to just uh want more stay in the offense is crazy because I play receiver you're saying like I don't care what play is called you're saying I can't get a very say call this like it's a lot of outlandish uh obvious things where people were throwing out there people were saying like as far as like I'm like my role like um I've been a captain on this team for three years there's no question about my role and who I am as a player uh how hard I work like those things never had question marks and you can't say the same thing for a lot of people in the league like as a player who I am and what I am has always been represented and what I do on a consistent pace is how hard I work you can see it and my uh my teammates speak highly about me in that in that regard especially considering I've been a captain damn near since I got here so uh if I was like me wanting to have say so on the playground like that's insane to me just because like like I couldn't call it play to save my life like I couldn't call the game to save my life like be for real I couldn't call a game to save my life I'm a receiver so yeah Diggs practiced on Wednesday and McDermott as well as his top receiver indicate that they're they're fine water under the bridge family matter we're in a good place be for real be for real it is true that Diggs was not as involved in the offense that his numbers were down in the second half he started the year on this meteoric rise and had nearly a thousand yards and seven touchdowns before they ever hit double-digit games but by the end of the season that production was kind of cut in half so the second half was kind of cut in half this is still a really good year yeah but you could see the drop-off and therein lie the questions about his involvement in the offense and whether or not he wants to call plays be for real I couldn't call a game if I wanted to it's after hours with Amy Lawrence CBS
