The Christian life is not a path of ease, but rather a journey of spiritual battles where God's presence is the assurance of victory.

I bless you to face every spiritual fight with grace and power in Jesus name. Your promised land is also your battleground. When Joshua led God's people into Canaan, it was no vacation. Sure, the land flowed with milk and honey, but the enemy wasn't serving them cappuccinos and baklava. The people of God were in for a fight.
In fact, fight after fight. This is from Joshua 3. He will, without fail, drive out from before you the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Hivites, the Perizzites, the Girgashites, the Amorites, and the Jebusites.
Joshua 3, 10. That's a lot of fights against a whole lot of ites. The blessing of the Christian life is by no means the allure of ease. No, the blessing of being in Christ is the assurance of God's presence in the midst of the struggle. Life can be tough, but God is with you. God is for you in every fight.
