John assures his little children of their salvation through faith in Jesus, the resurrected and incarnate Christ, who gives life and removes people from death. He explains that life is fellowship with the triune God, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and that death includes physical, social, and relational consequences. John says that through faith in Jesus, death has been defeated, and life has been restored, reversing the curse of Eden and bringing blessing.
