The psalmist calls the original audience and us to worship God because of His faithfulness, reminding us of the wondrous works of God in the Old Testament and the fulfillment of those works in Jesus Christ. We are called to rest in and worship God because He has made a covenant with us, keeping us in it through His grace, mercy, and love. The psalmist's commands to give thanks, call upon, preach, sing praises, boast, rejoice, seek, and remember God's works are still relevant today, especially as we look forward to the consummating wondrous work of Jesus Christ, who has prepared a place for us in heaven and will come again to take us to himself.
