In Manipur, India, a genocide is unfolding as Christians are being targeted and martyred. The situation began with a peaceful protest, but turned into a violent attack on the Kuki tribe, who are predominantly Christian. The local government's attempt to give the Meitei people tribal status sparked the violence, which has resulted in over 100 deaths, 40,000 displaced Christians, and 350 churches burned down. The international community is largely unaware of the crisis, and the Indian government is not releasing accurate numbers of deaths and displaced people. Believers are called to pray and intervene in this crisis, and to support organizations like Lantern Rescue that are providing relief and aid to the persecuted Christians.
