Obedience is a duty, a debt to be paid, and a delight to be preferred. It is a decision to be practiced, and it must be informed, intentional, immediate, inflexible, and impassioned. When we obey God, we receive the Holy Spirit, achieve joy, and believe the gospel. Disobedience is like witchcraft, iniquity, and idolatry, and it leads to rebellion against God.
