All my people on the highways, the byways, the parkways, the back roads, the neighborhoods, the submarines, the planes, trains, and automobiles. My people doing security, my officers, my people in the military, my people holding it down.
And if you're holding it down, you know what the hell I mean. My people helping people, saving people, protecting people, all of y'all. Thank you much. If you want to communicate with me, it's real simple. 855-212-4227.
That's 855-212-4227. I can't forget my people feeding people, serving people, cleaning up after people. All of the people.
Yeah, that's everybody. You can find me online as well. I am at JR Sport Brief. We're about an hour away from the NFL Hall of Fame game in Canton, Ohio. Houston Texans. Chicago Bears. Everybody talking about the Bears. Caleb Williams this, and Caleb Williams that, and Roman Dusey this, and Roman Dusey that. We'll see what they do. OK, we got time to see what the Bears do.
Thank you so much to our guests for joining us last hour. Landry Locker, host of the locker room down in Houston, Texas. He came through, chatted us up about what's going to happen with the Texans this upcoming season. He says they're going to have some stiff competition here with both the Colts and the Jaguars.
This is not going to be easy. I know there's always so much talk about what goes on in the AFC North and all the teams up there. But I mean, you got some things going on in the AFC South as well. It's going to be very competitive. The AFC is going to be tough. You think about the AFC East as well. Besides the Patriots, we're going to have some good football in front of us this season. So we got more football to get into.
Unfortunately, last hour, I shared the news with you. Justin Herbert, his foot is in a boot. Got a case of plantar fasciitis. He will be in a boot for about two weeks. If I keep thinking or hitting the fast forward button to more injuries, we also learn that DeAndre Hopkins of the Tennessee Titans, he has a strained knee.
Probably the top target for Will Levis. He's expected to be out four to six weeks, which would definitely put him right on the line of potentially missing the start of the season. And then awful news for Major League Baseball. Not that this guy gets attention because he plays for the Angels. Well, matter of fact, he never plays for the Angels. Mike Trout is done for the season after playing 29 games.
He has retore his meniscus. When it rains, it pours, folks, right? I'm Mike Trout. I'm pouring myself a glass of Jack. I'm putting my leg up. I'm asking when my surgery is and I'm going on vacation.
I'll be back. Good luck to all the injured folks as we continue on with the show. I do want to talk about the Hall of Fame game, not because I'm expecting the game to be exciting. Because tonight we're finally going to see the debut of the NFL's new kickoff. OK, remember the kicker has moved forward. You got to return, guys. We got more of a scrimmage type deal. The kicker's by himself.
This is going to be real interesting to finally see this kickoff live and in action. We'll get into that next hour. There's so much for us to discuss. 855-212-4227.
That's 855-212-4227. You know what? I also want to talk about or give you a little bit of an Olympics update. Because we got a lot of female athletes right now representing Team USA. They're killing it. They're doing an amazing job.
They're representing the red, white and blue, the stars and stripes. And they're winning big. 855-212-4227. Let's go to Chicago and talk to Rich. Rich, you're on the JR Sport Reshow, the Infinity Sports Network. What's up? Hey, JR. How are you, man? I am absolutely amazing. How are you? I'm doing well. I was interested in jumping on.
One, I like the show. I've been on, as you know, in the past few years. When you start talking football and you have your Texans guy on, he was very good. But the thing that I wanted to bring up, and I told you the screener, the producer.
Well, I don't understand. When you got a guy like Williams who needs a lot of reps, he's obviously green. And both teams have made an announcement that they're not playing any starters in the kickoff game for the Hall of Fame. Which now is coming down to the JV game. It's going to be a bunch of guys that you haven't heard a whole lot about. Which is probably good. You want to play some kids that you've got to cut.
But I don't get. Think about the matchup. It could have been Stroud against Caleb Williams.
Two young kids. One that's already defined himself in Stroud and Caleb who I think is a wild card. They're crazy about him here in Chicago. I'm not in that camp.
But it would have been nice to see him play at least a quarter. He's not doing it. But the other thing I want to ask you. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Well, let's let's.
What are you what are you actually asking? You're saying you would have loved to seen C.J. Stroud and Caleb Williams on the field and in the same game? For maybe a quarter. OK, so let me let me address that that that first, Rich. Nobody cares, bro. It is today.
It's August 1st. It's a meaningless game. Like that's that nobody cares. I'm sure.
God bless them. If we're going to see them in real action, we're going to have plenty of times over the next several seasons. If Caleb Williams is going to be, I don't know, three quarters of what people think he's going to be.
And those three quarters will probably still make him maybe the best Bears quarterback ever, given the expectations that he has in front of him. So it's a meaningless game. I don't think anybody is missing anything. It's not like they're going to go tit for tat through a game. It's not going to be a battle. It's not going to be a duel. We're not going to see a fourth quarter where one guy marches down towards the red zone and now Caleb or Stroud has to answer. It's a it's a meaningless game. So I don't think anybody is missing anything.
Rich, what's your next question? Well, the only other thing after listening to your Texas guy, which I've always been a Damian Pierce guy on FCC Florida guy and his rookie year, he almost ran for a thousand yards and he got hurt and didn't play the last four games. We still had almost a thousand. I don't understand why he's not in the mix. And they went outside and got Joe mix. And I understand they're running game was weak.
I think it was twenty ninth last year or something really bad. But no one's talking about Damian Pierce. And I thought, how can you not have him in the mix for for their offense? He isn't even better.
He is. He is going to be in the in the mix of the offense, as Landry just shared in the last hour while talking about the Texans. Joe Mixon is not in full health. And what we saw two seasons ago, we saw what Damian Pierce did.
That was that was two years ago. Maybe this maybe this go round. He'll have an opportunity to show, you know, what he can do, especially if Joe is not going to be able to give it a full go. Joe Mixon is one of the best backs in the league.
And he still has another month to, quote unquote, round into shape before he's just pretty much thrown out there. Now, I'm not I'm not overly enamored with with preseason at all. I mean, who has ever been this kind of bowled over for preseason?
I don't know anybody just saying, I just can't wait to see this unless you're somebody's mother or father, somebody plan is your cousin, brother, nephew. Your grandson is out there trying to make an NFL roster, trying to make an NFL team. Like, I'm not I don't need to watch the third string guys. And so also, let me let me remind everybody here, the teams that are playing tonight between the Houston Texans and the Chicago Bears, they're basically playing an extra preseason game. They're not playing the normal now three used to be four. They're now playing four games. This is a throwaway. And so if you happen to be the Chicago Bears, what's the benefit of throwing Caleb Williams out there today?
For what? You got three more games. I'm sure he's probably going to play in two of them, maybe.
Let's be real. What difference is it going to make when the NFL finally expands to 18 games at some point over the next, I don't know what, five years? And they now have two preseason games.
What are we all going to complain and cry about that? Preseason games are just. Black. You get some tickets, you know, you sit around, you have a good time and you leave early. I don't. Not wasting a Friday. It's like all the starters planned is pretty much where's the rookie at? And nowadays you don't even really see the rookie, especially if he's a QB, which leads me to just go, I'm not I'm not bothering. I do not care when I ask our producer hanging out with us this afternoon. Chris, do you care about NFL preseason football? Not in the slightest. I'll still watch it, but I really just don't care.
And why is that? I want to see the starters get in there. I want the game to have a little bit of meaning. But if it's basically just a throwaway game where you're seeing all the third stringers and practice squad guys get in there. Yeah, it's football.
But to what extent? It's just glorified. It's glorified tryouts. This is what it is. Look, NFL preseason is good for one thing. That is creating content. For hard knocks. I have never seen an NFL preseason that I've cared about.
There's there's a couple of things. What is the rookie look like? Who's the quote unquote breakout guy? You know, is anybody going to make the team and have some big impact that we we never heard of the dude?
Who's the story? But outside of that. It's like it's like sitting around watching hard knocks. I rather watch hard knocks and be entertained. Man, we got football and I love football. We got football, real NFL football that will roll from September all the way to February. I don't need to watch guys who are going to be sitting on the couch like me. Well, in September. I don't need to watch these guys.
It's a hard knock life. NFL players coming in by the hundreds and thousands trying to make rosters that get whittled down to 53. I don't need to watch number, I don't know, 98. I don't need to watch, you know, number 52.
I don't get whatever the numbers. I don't need to see him. And so, look, realistically, we know the Bears starters aren't playing tonight.
As Landry said, we only might see a handful, a handful of Texas starters. Because you know what this game is? Game is nothing. This game is to honor the dudes who are going into. The Hall of Fame.
It's something to do. On a Thursday before the induction ceremony. On Saturday. Don't don't take this game too serious, folks. It's just an exhibition because we're going to show up to Canton.
We have to have more than the instrument, right? Let's do something. Let's make two teams playing the game.
At least the backups. I'm more interested in what the kickoff looks like. The practice for everybody as well. Well, you know what? We'll talk about. The practice next hour at the top of the hour. We'll get into the new kickoff and how this is going to be practice. This is new for everybody.
I'll explain it. And then even Mike Tomlin had some words about the new kickoff and even Madden. Yes, Madden. The video game. Is being used for to help NFL teams get acclimated to the new kickoff rules.
I guess any way you can get an edge, even if it involves an Xbox, a PlayStation or whatever the hell else they're selling here in the year. Twenty twenty four is the J.R. sport show here with you on the infinity sports network. Damn it. It is twenty twenty four.
It still happens to be August 1st. It's Thomas flying, folks. You're going to blink. And then you're going to see real football in front of you.
Everybody's going to be out here competing for a championship. Well, unless you're the Raiders or. Patriots.
I'm sorry. Oh, the Cardinals. I'll stop there. Eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven.
That's eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. You know what? We're going to take a break.
And when we come back, forget all NFL teams that are not going to be champions. Let's talk about some some individuals who did some winning today. We're going to talk about Simone Biles. We're going to talk about Katie Ledecky. Even Team USA, the women. They're doing their own damn thing out in Paris. They're winning as well.
I will explain. We'll hear from Simone Biles and we even hear from my husband, NFL player. He's not in training camp because his wife is Simone Biles. Must be nice. You're locked into the J.R. sport re-show.

That's 855-212-4227. Right before we went to break, I was asked about the Bears and preseason football and what have you. And I'm like, OK, yeah, who cares if these guys are playing as long as they're getting ready for the regular season. I don't care who's playing in the preseason. I'd rather guys walk out healthy. I mean, we already got Justin Herbert in a boot. Got DeAndre Hopkins with a strained knee. As long as guys are healthy and they're ready for the year.
I'm not all that interested. OK, now we got 17 games. Give it a few years. We're going to have 18 games. I'm good on the preseason. All right. I'm fine on that. Everybody's trying to get warmed up and ready for a championship.
Now, forget all of that. Let's talk about some individuals that have actually did some winning today. Hey, congratulations to everybody out in Paris, France, representing Team USA, the women's basketball team.
They beat Belgium today. The final score, 87 to 74. Brianna Stewart had 26 points. Asia Wilson, who wins everything, had 23 points. And Diana Taurasi, sometimes very critical of Kaitlyn Clark.
Diana Taurasi had a whopping. Zero points. We can't can't score all the time, right? That's just a game of life. U.S. women's national team is going to take on Germany.
On Sunday morning. Yeah. Wake up and watch the women play Germany. I couldn't tell you one German woman on the team, so I expect a beat down. OK.
Anyway. Also, congratulations today. Katie Ledecky. She won her 13th Olympic medal today. She won silver in the 200 meter relay. She now has more medals than any woman, female swimmer ever.
Katie Ledecky is 27 years old. She already made it very clear. She plans on participating in the 2028 Olympics, which are going to take place here in America, in Los Angeles, California.
Why not do it at home, right? She's big time. She now has eight gold medals, four silvers and one bronze. And she's she's not done. Katie Ledecky is going to be in action again tomorrow. As she swims in the 800 meter freestyle.
So she has an opportunity to answer her hall. And when it comes to swimming, you want to know who would you know? America is better than her with medals. Some guy named Michael Phelps, who has more medals than anybody who's ever been in the Olympics.
Twenty eight. Good luck to Katie Ledecky. Maybe she can catch up to Michael. Pretty amazing in her own right. So we got the USA basketball team on the women's side who did some winning. We got Katie Ledecky who did some winning today.
And then we also have. Simone Biles, Simone Biles did some winning today as she won the all around title, got herself another gold medal. This is an eight year gap of her winning the all around competition. This is individual. The other day she won team.
Today it was all about her. Simone Biles at twenty seven years old is the oldest women's gymnastics champ since nineteen fifty two. Yes, people, when it comes to gymnastics for younger people.
Well, damn it, younger people younger than twenty seven years old. At this point, she's ancient. This was Simone Biles ninth gold medal. Nine count of nine. She's killing it out here.
Excuse me. Nine medals total. Six golds, one silver and two bronze. She has nine medals total. It is six golds, which happened to be the most all time by a U.S. gymnast. And she barely edged out a young lady in Brazil for the silver. Suni Lee walked away with the bronze. And when the competition was over, Simone Biles put on a goat necklace, signifying and letting everybody know.
I think what we all know. She's the greatest gymnast of all time. A matter of fact, afterwards, she spoke on a dais.
Here it is. Courtesy of the Olympics. Three years ago, I never thought I'd step foot on a gymnastics floor again just because of everything that had happened. But with the help of Cecile and Laurent, I got back in the gym and worked really hard mentally and physically. Even this morning at seven a.m., I saw my therapist and there's a time change. So she is so amazing for allowing me to do that these couple of days here in Paris. So just making sure I'm mentally well.
I think you see that out on the competition floor. And then my goat necklace is just kind of an ode because the people love it and then some people hate it. So it's like the best of both worlds. And I was like, OK, if it goes well, we'll wear the goat necklace.
I know people will go crazy over it. But at the end of the day, it is crazy that I am in the conversation of greatest of all athletes because I just still think I'm Simone Biles from Spring, Texas, that loves to flip. That's that's that's amazing.
That's nice, right? You I appreciate the hubris. I also appreciate the humility. I love the fact that she can say I'm just Simone four foot eight Simone Biles from Spring, Texas. And she's a champ. She's a big deal, man. She's an amazing athlete.
Two of the best athletes on planet Earth. How she gets a running start and torpedoes herself into the air and then flips and pikes and jumps off. I can't do any of this stuff, man.
Nobody can hurt. She can't. She got her own move named after her.
Come on. And she's not done. Simone Biles, who now has nine medals, six of them gold. She can win three more medals this upcoming Saturday and three more individual events, including the floor dance. And so we'll see what Simone Biles goes out there and does. Realistically, she can leave Paris with 12 medals.
That's a big deal. I'm looking forward to seeing what Simone Biles can do on Saturday. Somebody else real eager to see what Simone Biles can do. And I would say in surprising fashion, even able to see her do anything in person. Is her husband, Jonathan Owens, NFL safety.
I got to be honest here, OK? God bless him. I'm surprised. I'm surprised he's still in the league.
I'm being real. He plays for the Chicago Bears every year. He's with a different team, started off with the cards, was with the Texans for a few years, the Packers last year. And now he's a member of the Bears.
How about this? The Chicago Bears, the team that is playing in tonight's Hall of Fame game, or at least their backups are the backups of the backups of the backups to the backups. Jonathan Owens, who is not a star at the defensive back position. He got permission from the Bears to witness and watch his wife in person at the Olympics. This is not a let me say this again.
This is not a star. This is a dude who's typically a backup every now and then he's holding on to a spot. This man got permission from the Bears, the team he just signed with to leave. And so he was actually having a conversation with the NFL Network.
Good morning, football. And they asked him, hey, Jonathan, how the hell did you pull this one off? And listen to what he said. So basically, man, it was, you know, you just have to come at it super respectful.
The Bears, they understood that it was an Olympic year. So once I signed and everything, that was the first question we asked was just like, you know, obviously the Olympics are coming up. We was just really appreciative.
You know, you all let him go and support his wife. And I originally gave them two dates, so I wanted to either go for the team final, which is the 30th or the all around final, which is August 2nd. And they end up telling me both dates were fine.
So I didn't have to feel like I'd be rushed to get back. So, you know, super first class organization, man, I'm super blessed and so thankful that they allowed me to go. Wow. Is that all is that all it takes? My wife is in the Olympics.
You might have heard of her name is Simone Biles. Can I can I go get a couple of days off? I guess. What other choice of the Chicago Bears at like somehow, some way it would get out. And then somehow, some way the Bears would look like like world class jerks if they said, no, man, you just signed a contract. You can't go see your wife in the Olympics.
You can't. You got to let him go. Even if he's barely clinging on to a job. I mean, he. Me, if I if I were Ryan Polce, he's the general manager of the Chicago Bears.
I'd let him go because I had to. But in the back of my mind, I would be saying to myself. Yeah, man, go watch Simone Biles. But you're not all that good. If you come back and you suck, we're going to cut you. That's that's just me.
Maybe I'm just a jerk. I want to ask Rich Ackerman. Rich, what do you think about the Chicago Bears allowing Jonathan to watch Simone? Like they had to write. They had no choice.
Yeah, but I'm OK with it. The Giants let Aaron Ross go when his wife was. She was a sprinter, I believe. Sonja. Yes. Sonja Richards. Yes. She's here in Georgia.
Yeah, I will. I will give you this one, though, from from the great red hour back. Not quite the same circumstance, but I remember red hour back telling a story where Bob Cusi wanted to miss practice for. So he could do an endorsement somewhere. It was like to film a commercial or something like that. An endorsement.
Yes. And and red hour back said to him, you know, you could miss practice, but when you come back, you have to practice, you know, like never before. So you so, you know, I think there's a little of that expectation. I mean, not that not that, you know, he's going to come back from the Olympics and kind of put his feet up while everybody's, you know, on the practice field.
But I'm good with it. I, you know, hey, look, this is a you know, this is a once in a lifetime thing for him. And this is also the last Olympic Games for her, I would imagine. Oh, my God. Yeah. Twenty, twenty seven years old. Right.
No Los Angeles at thirty one years old. No. Right. That would be quite a feat.
What happens? What happens to a gymnast between twenty seven and thirty one? But I can't I can't recall there being a thirty one year old gymnast.
I can't recall being a twenty seven year old gymnast. That's crazy. It's nuts, Jonathan. He got it. He got a pass to go out there. Aaron Rodgers went to Egypt. Aaron Rodgers is a Hall of Famer.
Jonathan Owens is barely an NFL player. I think there's a little difference, though. One's a family. Right. And although I look, I think the other one runs the other one runs the team.
That's exactly it. I mean, it wasn't so much that he missed the practice time because. But, you know, when you were the face of the franchise and you're setting the tone for everybody to go off on to Egypt, I mean, that's like, you know, now there's a little more clarity to the story. But still, it's he's the he's the coach and he's the coach, the general manager.
He's he's going to be a guy that gets everybody fired. Maybe do as I say, not as I do. Yeah. Listen, at least at least Jonathan Owens is out in Paris or his wife. What a beautiful thing. Yeah, beautiful. Anyway, it's the J.R. sport. We show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. That's eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven.
And also, hey, I don't mean to interrupt you. Wasn't didn't Zach Ertz mispractice because his wife, Julie? Yes.
Yeah, I think he I think he missed some time. And she's with didn't she didn't she just retire. Yep. And so is that what it takes? Yes. Yes. Yes. Significant other either.
A, you've got to be, you know, Aaron Rodgers or B, your significant other has to be an Olympian. Yeah. OK. OK. All right. I got some work to do. Hey, I got some work to do. I got to find to find Olympians.
I'm going to find me an Olympian. How many days do I get? I can add that to my sick days. What would I get a week?
I think we get six weeks paternity leave, but I don't know what's built in for for the Olympics. Spousal is spousal leave. Is that what I can call it?
Yeah. Why not? I got to call the union. I'm on it back.
I'm on it. It's the J.R. sport. We show you with you on the Infinity Sports Network. The man Jonathan Owens had to tell everybody he had to approach the Chicago Bears politely and humbly. When we come back on the other side of the break, we have an NFL player. We have a Tennessee Titan who approached the media yesterday. Humbly and politely apologizing for tearing a radio host a new you know what?
We'll get into that on the other side of the break. Here's why April chose to vaccinate her child. I think actually meeting someone who was not vaccinated and now has a lifelong struggle with a childhood disease really cemented for me that it's super important that we as parents continue to vaccinate our children.

4227. Talked about the Olympics on the last break. Or during the last break. Katie Ledecky is a winner. Simone Biles is a winner. And these are not just winners. And I'm not necessarily fond of the term goat.
I feel like it is so overused. Greatest of all time. But these young ladies are the greatest at what they do ever. Simone Biles and Katie Ledecky are both 27 years old. They're in Paris, France, and they still have more opportunities to come back to the United States of America with more gold.
How about that? Simone Biles has nine medals. Six gold. Katie Ledecky. This woman has 13 medals. Eight gold. Katie Ledecky is in action tomorrow. Simone Biles on Saturday. And more individual competitions can win three more gold medals.
It's crazy. I don't got no gold medals. Hey, Chris, how many gold medals you got? Zip. Nada.
Bagel. None. Okay.
Nothing. I think most of the listeners. I think most listeners have zero gold medals. Congratulations. Katie Ledecky. And also Simone Biles.
855 212 42 27. Lee is here from Cincinnati. You're on the JR Sport.
We show us up, Lee. Thanks for taking my call. But I just have to say.
Jonathan, which that was about the worst thing he could have done, in my opinion, for his NFL career. And just bear with me for a minute and I'll tell you why. Okay.
Yeah. The Bears look great for saying yes. Of course they were going to say that.
They weren't going to tell him no because of the PR hits that would have taken. But the thing is, is what he's saying is, look, football is not the most important thing in my life. And that's what you have to be as a professional athlete playing in a sport, especially when you're just trying to make the team. The team wants to know that that is the most important thing to you. And had he gone the opposite way and said, look, I want to stay here.
I want to show you what I got. My wife's going to do great. She's going to win the gold anyhow. I think that would have given him a leg up. That would have been a positive for him. But the fact that he went over there, I'm not trying to sound ugly, but I think by doing that, you know, the Bears are like, OK, good PR move. We're going to let you go.
But he pretty much signed his own pink slip. What do you think? I think time and thank you, Lee, for calling from Cincinnati.
I think time. Time will tell. You know, a little bit of an exaggeration by me to say he's barely an NFL player. He's a decent NFL player. I mean, the past couple of seasons, I think, have allowed him to play much more frequently. But he's on he's on a different team every single year. And so do I think he's signing himself to a pink slip?
No, it boils down to performance. And the fact is, if he can perform on the field this year for the Bears, if he can contribute to a team that is hopefully, I know from their perspective, are going to make the postseason, then I could see him sticking around. I could see another team picking him up next year. You know, one thing that he's not going to be able to do and I don't know, maybe by the time the next Olympics, his wife is not competing because she'll be 31 going on 32. The same thing for him. I think he's about a year older than her.
He may not be in the league. And you know what? By the way, for a guy whose wife is raking in millions of dollars, she makes more money than him.
All right. Let's be very clear. His wife, Simone Biles, makes much more money than him. I don't think he got a thing to worry about.
If he gets cut. He can open up a football camp. OK, baby, can you can you can you fund my camp for me? Oh, of course, baby.
Sure. You take out the trash. Yeah, I took out the trash. Mowed the lawn.
Yeah. Mowed the lawn. You go by my parents house and change the light bulbs from, you know, they get older.
Yeah, I changed them light bulbs. Here's a mill and a half. Go go open up your little football camp.
Come back home by 10. OK, I don't think most guys in the NFL, I don't think most of them. I mean, with the money that these dudes make, I would say most of them are the breadwinners. Did you imagine? And maybe not. Maybe so. If you're Jonathan Owens, is he here in smack talk on a football field?
Are people telling him, hey, did you ask your wife if you come to work today? Like that's maybe I'm the jerk. And I'm not when I when I played sports, not professionally. Not in college. Not in high school. I was too lazy. I barely went anyway. But when I did play out in the street, I just played. I wasn't a trash talker. But if I was. Oh, I'd be giving this guy a hard time about his wife.
I sure would. Jonathan Owens is in a very different position. Chicago Bears say no to him. No, you can't go to Paris. Can't go see a wife. Yeah, they look bad.
As I said, as our caller leave just said. He may look bad on the football field. And if he gets the boot. I still think he's going to live a very comfortable life. He just better take care of that woman.
You better do whatever she wants, because if she gives you the boot. I must inform him. You are not the catch.
She is. Eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. That's eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. I think at one point in time he said he was the catch. What?
Excuse me. What? John is here from Knoxville. You're on the JR Sportbreeze show.
What's up, John? Man, totally slammed that when you did, brother. That was amazing.
But my sentiments exactly. She is amazing goat. Yes, I'm going to give it to her. I'm watching it and I'm and I'm so nervous for all these kids. And I'm like, and she's twenty seven and she's on half a leg.
She reminds me of, you know, who Patrick Mahone's man doing this thing on a gold medal with a pad, a freaking busted up leg and these guys trout. He is making me sick. OK, good. Wait, wait, wait, wait.
You said you said you said Mike Trout. Yeah. OK. That was a hell of a transition. Go ahead. Yeah, it was, brother.
Because, you know, I listen to your show, so I got to bring it all in. But anyway, that's Mike Trout. It's like, you know, injury, injury, injury. Burn up his rookie cards ain't worth nothing. But anyway, he he is killing me with a meniscus. I had two torn meniscus and you do not need to go under surgery for the most part.
If you ice it, take care of it for a couple of weeks. The guy could probably play without a freakin surgery. Orthopedic guys do not want to cut you. That is the last thing a good orthopedic wants to do. Well, there's a couple. Well, we don't.
Well, first of all, we don't know the extent. And I'm not I'm not an orthopedic surgeon as well. But I do know when it comes to a meniscus tear, you have options depending on the damage to it. You can you can shave it. You can leave it. You can cut it. You can remove it completely.
There are a lot of things that you can do. So I don't know what's in his knee. And John, I'd venture to say that you don't know what's in his knee as well, correct?
I don't either. But I think they got to get some some corners. You know what I mean? It's like Jeter busted his one bone in his hand. I'm not exactly positive where I broke three in my hand once. Hold on. Well, John, you played what and did what? I'm just telling you that all these guys, they go under the knife too quick. In my opinion, I don't know for sure how many other injuries did they have that they didn't go under the knife in their rehab. That is not that is that is not and I appreciate you for calling from Knoxville, John.
Thank you so much. That that's not fair. You first of all, I'm going to say this in the plainest way possible. You ain't no doctor, man. You're not a doctor. That's number one.
And then number two, you ain't looking at none of these guys records and what they're doing. The doctors guys talk to some of the best doctors in the country. I'm not going to sit here and tell you that I'm a doctor.
I sure as hell not. There's one thing that I do know. I know some doctors. Shout out to Dr. Riley Williams Williams, who actually worked with Team USA Basketball Hospital for special surgery. I know doctors. I know doctors. Dr. Ronnie Barnes, head athletic trainer and doctor for the New York Giants.
I know. Professional doctors who lead professional sports teams in organizations. Now, I'm not going to tell you that I'm in their brain.
There's a couple of things here. These doctors work for the teams. A lot of the players also get independent evaluations when it comes to these serious injuries. So to say that anybody and that's cast in a wide net because the majority of professional athletes and yes, definitely in the NFL, NBA, NHL, I don't care what you do. If you play long enough, you're going to have an injury. Lucky you, if you can avoid surgery, getting cut open. Who wants that?
Nobody. But to have a blanket statement where these guys are too fast to have surgery. That's that's not fair.
It's not a one size fits all. Go talk to Greg Oden. Ask him. Talk to me about Kawhi Leonard. Go talk to Mike Trout. We can go up and down about injuries and surgeries. I mean, go talk to Stephen Stroudsburg.
Go talk to Mike Trout. Sports is fun if you can go play. And ain't no fun if you got to get cut open. I don't think anybody wants to get cut open on purpose.
Nobody. The J.R. sport we show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network. We're going to take a break. We come back on the other side.
Yeah, I'm like you. I'm getting ready for this Hall of Fame game. I'm getting ready for the Texans to play.
