Let's talk about our youth today because there are future and that's can it be our pretty much it's pretty much the biggest investment.

A lot of are you are you are under a lot of pressure as they grow from you not going to school and going of college and their social life, and so on and the pressures that life in general, and this can be variable from overwhelming, so what do you think are some of the no prevalent challenges that we can be made aware of and are you happy that you and I did not know what media you right there restaurant well but imagine being you know a teenager today and you know every day or moment. Every teenager had every human being has been captured on someone so that right there beginning that they have to deal with that. We did not rain.

I even see my daughter what is it called house parties she's witnessed bullying and house party. Did they do they have to deal with a lot of things and I think what's so dangerous about social many media is that like you said it's a pressure cooker, and I know that I at least cyber bullying can lead to suicide, which happens to be increasing in our youth increased beyond any pain and there what advertising you know all magnified by media is that you know the door for everything out right. If you know part of the problem is that crap and compare living real on social media and they're getting is that ages of development where they don't have the ability for the brain developing don't have the ability to learn that something is real.

It isn't real because our later in development directly getting done in their personality growth because of all of this technology wonders that is also made it very difficult for teenagers to battle today and when you see the date they get stunted in their growth could you expand on the well to be a lot more dark on the right side.

No one indicative of looking for things outside of yourself will avoid within and so what are what most North Island.

Someone fly usually when there is a remote back problem for everyone else, including you as you get older. I guess that's what happens to some of us to continue acting as a teenager.

As adults exactly the problem and not a problem for the first behaving the way that the problem for everyone around. We all know what might deal with someone. Imagine a teenager.

Someone that had the wherewithal of a teenager in a 30-year-old by 40-year-old by 50-year-old body. Imagine the horror that it happens. Obviously it happens but what can we do you say that society imposes on the youth a certain ideal and they see this in social media and so forth. Not much we can do about the environment, we can't be on them 24 seven.

Wondering what's there watching on their social media what kind of things right. Can we do as responsible people to try to help the situation well you now and I don't mean I'm not all bad about all network, not a throw it all away and parent. You met to get out to all devices that you're not doing well. The first thing you can do is be an example and you that were acquired all of you and not the online or maybe keep them busy acting jujitsu that I did with my kids. Yes. And because there media sport because it is very confidence building. Also what you get from being on social media to be a little more is not nothing good comes this just put it that way and I don't find nowhere going on world there are elevated by however no.

992 go after one on your brain with dopamine and you have many brain chemicals that are wonderful. There component of many brain chemicals that are wonderful. Your open often although thing and getting it done. One thing is not so he could help balance that out and thank you think you see things in a responsible way that you know it's not the social media you know that it online gaming television, Netflix a lot of different things so I think really what we have to do is like that outing where they literally cannot.

Beyond anything to do with the Internet, though you you know Outlook would whatever is right for real difficult or maybe play a videogame board game with the family name Amy Couto in this year will continue talking about teachers please stay with us. He's God you have any questions about the nature would love to hear from you dirty fortune. Life can bring many difficult situations, domestic violence, addictions, poverty, and sexual abuse by your loved ones. The issue is not spinning their book to overcome all obstacles been shouldered with the love of God, your husband and your family. You can succeed. Love is the answer. God is the key word reveals baby combos life, a warrior who didn't give up and achieve the dream of her life. The ships by keening country, a small portion might pick mightily my date and anybody can have their own way back to fall again. It happens just try and try again to get it right if it gets heavy find comfort knowing See, and he will beat and let go of the past and move forward, looking bright, full of hope God hears our prayers even in the silence of our tears which he tries, and soon turns into joy.

Pray daily as you welcome each new day. We can rise up, walk away dance despite the rain just talking to Kristin Walker is helping us discuss the issues facing our youth today. I wanted to talk about the enormous pressure of the our teens a new cover in life are no and the door that extends we can probably help them somehow what you think. Kristin well I think you know and help them that you a lot a lot earlier generation divide between the younger generation going to work with. You don't get it away help you know, try to understand where they're coming from and understand that they do have different. More than any other generation had before.

Because of what they have now, which is worldwide information and breadth of understanding then I think we can find ways to help all right, but also probably wish will have a lot of pressure on them. As far as pushing them to do things like maybe there is some people got our notes suitable for college or don't have interest in college to have a certain degree.

The just will not cover any use for them later. Maybe we can seriously consider talking with our kids about don't necessarily follow the specific rule of the society does all you need to go to college. What are the more than ever before so little about your fire by your parent or that you even go to college I felt when I come from a family of Harvard Dartmouth, you know, grab no work though. We need to give them that were going to try to use old paradigm how they can be ethical not work because you they are smarter than they have with technology like community for diligence of the previous the previous generations right cell memory. He's talking about a lot of things have changed.

I mean we don't raise her children. The way that we were raised in our generation mean 45 and when my daughter and 18. We drew together poor things show is a lot different with her. I learned my lesson with the younger one and I think it's about letting them know that you are willing to listen to them and making them feel that you understand then and then send me teaching them because they don't like us teaching they want to learn from their friends or from social media or they that the best way to gently descend like you said Kristin be that example of what you want them to be, or how you want them to look at things are behaved because even though their teenager's name may seem like you don't care just to watch and other learning.

They are what all it's funny because my son watches my sisters action on social media so I believe you really like me there even with the camera around like or so I think relating what they're going all the warm of online so we have a lot more that we can write about hate. I do what a great read bill with an overload of information that's out there that effective yet another weight rate to under my son is yellow something something you hope that your kid would come to you with something disturbing that the song social media or something like that some kids are very served. They don't really speak much or they don't talk much so if there looking into Army yeah can't we do the same.

Vice versa about what they're looking at online I that not knowing full well that know what it is and I think you like there listening to what they do. It often you tell when something going on. You all yeah if you're talking about things you have that family time they'll hear what you're saying about me, made me bark that oh) or blurted out not really yeah you are you talking about, but I think the silent you know from our that isn't going to help them. That is so important that you see that because I had no idea how important communication was and I found out and I take any opportunity that were together where there were at dinner or anything like that to speak even heard of somebody who goes around collecting liking cell phones.

They're not allowed to have their cell phones and the dinner table. It's very hard to get your kid to talk to you if you not talking to your kid goes but was it really does and and you know there are other things that are very challenging and will get that as soon as we get back. Amy this is Amy Calvo listening to the cure live every Saturday at 1 PM you may please you all all come back here and things are tuning in your V Saturday at 1 PM on the cure that they care our website.

Amy's purpose.com that was letting my cheeses by casting crowns. My choice might hearing the truth set me free.

Whenever my life story when I became honest about myself, but there is nothing more frame than God's truth, for I am a broken just letting my cheeses showing my scars sharing my story of God's mercy, no matter where you are and I pray that all will come to love our Jesus and the same way talking to Kristin Walker who is helping us is helping us with the issues that are youth face today, Kristin. I wanted to ask you because there's a lot of pressures with with social media and is also the pressure of alcohol and smoking and drugs. Even more specifically, a lot of our youth are peeping.

Is there something I can be done on our part to try to reduce the incidence where you know they do it behind your back. So unless your baby yeah I know I know I know now that is kind of a right of knowing when going beyond a right that really loved in what you're doing and I have no bowling environment where they are something that everything that you that you know unforgiving environment there that I find something and that something really high. Okay right right of passage we we all got it comes a problem when it interferes with our life. When a change is who we are when makes us depressed. All of a sudden the part the kids not showing up to classes were not doing our not Islamists all messy, dark, and you know you see it in other ways I think that's when it's important to get involved in. They're not fun to be around a lot of their job. Around me I was really glad that are how the house done all wanted to party have a party. We were out of town and my son was out of town angry about how hang out and I got here not because I was allowed room but I could hear what are they talking about the going on. I was able to pick up on a lot of things I lucky this time around.

My first teenager was it was more challenging. So far 14 underling guide and I have a 12-year-old so soon it'll be like double I think. So far so good. My fingers God also delivered on the raping situation especially know that there is so this problem with a lot of people getting very seriously. You and I think they disprove that well.

They said it was off market over the raping of market stuff so maybe we can disclose the following will just go by things of the streets. The can be very dangerous. They are not old enough I think I is in the right will then you think it's I think they should drink know what that is so funny it's true it is to write about it and you know what you may not do anything but think about that and I do remember what television program or something going on school that was very. About you going or what have you and I may have acted like it was a pain in helping make better teenagers so all of this awareness going about thinking thinking here what you more than not, they may stop doing it at a younger age about what it nice bucks to communication very yes and I can't reiterate it now.

How you know how not all I think also I'm going to be exposed to the social media on the environment and the drugs and whatever it is they need for the right of passage to go. It's inevitable. I think the Army, most importantly, we need to let make them feel love.

I think that's that's what's most important to spend time with them.

Like the other day Boris took our son shooting you know that spending quality time teaching him out of the right 14 and so bicycle riding with your kid things like that even think it would be a big deal but it means a lot. I 30 now I remember I teenager I think that movie ended up getting and I know I would not worry about that.

You guys like you would probably get you to help me you'd help me and I know I know I don't want to think that is okay.

We need to have another talk about all the things that later I realize I'm glad know our love and support matter what you excellent point you made because our 12-year-old daughter is counseling a little bit older girls maybe like 15 or so and talking about pregnant and wanting to get pregnant and I'm pregnant today. No, I'm not pregnant tomorrow and I know my daughter said to me she said oh mommy you would not be very happy if I was pregnant you would not like that and I really didn't know what was the right thing to say but you know the right thing to say that I love you no matter what. Whatever happens, I rather you do things the right way but I will love you no matter what type of bed goes the wrong way. My wife and around Hollywood around a lot of movie people and things like that. You or let him walk around that plane you member that with the makeup.

Remember that with the pain he had fun watching a lot of thing out of it and donated it. Have say I don't. Don't be afraid. You can be appearance but at the same time you can be a child's friends which I grew up believing you cannot be your child's friend that's a mistake. I don't know you hear even a little bit. They're not going to you as a person when they get older they always see what the parent what you say they have to, you know at their level sometime when they're an adult they can go yeah. Not only not just the same way us as parents we want to be respected. We should respect them to and we should acknowledge and that seeking a friendship. I think you now just be just showing them that you appreciate them lower back and look talking longer about ways to help are you I'm Amy Cabo and this is the key here goes 186643 hear your story will look 1866 34 life can bring many difficult situations to mystic violence, addictions, poverty, sexual abuse by your loved ones.

The issue is not stay there, but to overcome all obstacles been shouldered with the love of God, your husband and your family.

You can succeed. Love is the answer. God is the key word reveals Cabo's wife, a warrior who didn't give up and achieve the dream of her life. You can get to know more about her story on God is the key word.com or buying her book on Amazon.com you will and you know you all the words on the things for being with as many Caddo and this is a care live every Saturday and you can download them here for any smart phone Ross on the radio, and social media is the trainees purpose later. The show will be available as a book of search for the cure with Amy, Amy's built with an eye level you just got it all right. It is going to be available on any boat question that portion of the song that was my choice might take. It's called this into our hearts by casting crowns. There is no greater love than the love God has for us even if we don't have the words he listens to heights and he is so great that he provides whatever we need even when we don't ask. So if he listens to our hearts. I hope he hears her spirit saying some of love and praise for those he has redeemed so that is tell you if I love God, as you listen to your heart, where talking with Kristin Walker about understanding and helping our youth. Kristin, I wanted to talk to you about the stigma and the awareness. If you can compare the level of awareness and stigma that surround that sounds no mental health of the teenager is supposed to you when you are teenager now that I talking about you when I was 14 1214 and go right along without help you with not even worth poking together and for your would be out somewhere will and what you do well, I about mental health and people don't look at me in shock away and now I can go to the store or the local diner or a nail wherever and I can talk about what I hear you, level people are able to talk about it today your work that I do many many people that we can talk about that level that we can break or are you will be talk about things like that I would no mental health. I just did a talk in front of the thousand talking about addiction first mental health for the entire state of Michigan never happened a few years ago okay and then to mention the importance of suicide and the prevention of suicide and to explain to everybody that there was a lot of help out there that everybody can go again due to more communication is people should be able to talk to each other more, so we can prevent both the way I see it, even if my daughter or my son won't talk to me if I know there's a teacher that they feel comfortable with that, school counselor, guidance counselor, sometimes this is best that they talk to somebody at least just encourage them to communicate and know that it's safe to communicate that nobody can get angry at them that in fact anything to courageous and strong. You know, and so just to kind of change the mindframe of probably when we were teenagers. Kristin that it was a big taboo it was not to be spoken of. And I hope that one day we can speak about it if it was a car accident being abused. Yes, I survived being abused, just like all yes
