They still make the promise land locked soon as they got over there started complaining monuments of misery when times get tough, you have a choice. You can wallow in your mess. You can worship your Messiah hello and welcome to this Thanksgiving day addition of Destin for victory. Always thankful to have you join us well when we think of the Israelites is not hard to be a little critical planning cycles of disobedience to lapses in faith, but in many ways we are Israel losing faith in God when things are going badly today. Pastor Paul Shepherd warns us against building what he calls monuments of misery. Today's message of straightahead stay with us now or stop by Pastor any time to hear today's message or any recent Destin for victory message on to me, that's Pastor you can also subscribe to or download the podcast at Google podcast or wherever you enjoy your programs must join Pastor Paul. Now, as he shares today's Destin for victory message in need of a supersized blessing. Look at the general nation that Moses was called to deliver from Egypt. All that God did to show them his power. Do you know why it was so difficult for fellow to finally let God's people go because God made it difficult when you read it and it keeps talking about Pharaoh hardened his heart.

There are times strategically in Exodus, where it clarifies it says the Lord hardened Pharaoh's heart give notice that God said no and heart and heart and suddenly Pharaoh became stubborn what you do what you just sent letting them go. Why would God send you this bondage heart of the guy who's keeping you in bondage. Why because he wanted Israel to know how great a God he was in the way he could make them know how great he was. Is he had to give them a great deliverance. So he kept showing Israel and Egypt who he was. By sending plague after plague finally got stopped pardoning his heart long enough for him to say, I jokingly they left town.

I went on about a couple million folks left town headed toward the Red Sea.

They find themselves with a wall of water. A sea of water the Red Sea in front of them and one more time, God hardened Pharaoh's heart and he says we gotta go back and we can let all that free labor leave and they pursued them. Israel, the folks in the back of the 2 million people plus camp. The folk in the back around heard them coming is all that's it. Now we're in trouble. They began to murmur and complain what they should've done is built an altar batteries and said the God who said we just sold.

I can't wait to see what he will do 12. Now that's what it should've been, but instead they show that their hearts were full of unbelief and they murmured and said Moses got to kill the bonus side of the Red Sea and God said to Moses stretched up to Rod. You know the stories without his rock.

And the Lord created a highway in the middle of the Red Sea, so that they walk-through they didn't just walk the walk through on dry land, Pharaoh's Army try to pursue them. I would have never been one of I told you many times before. I was in Pharaoh's army. And I've seen all that there God had already done that you are even some things just make sense.

But they didn't know… Say just opened up to see does not want me to catch them when you saw on why you killed. Rather deal with Pharaoh and whoever did that when trying to chase him and he were drowned in the Red Sea. What is that generation do they get the cane in no after God did all that they still make the promise land locked soon as I got over there, they started complaining monuments of misery misery number one when one over here. Why drink some I found a is so bitter.

You want that what your life complain about the water got sweet and the water is a nice when we finally got some decent one of what you mean now that I know photo here where food over here, they complained, God gave them quail.

First, God gave Amana defend him from heaven manner means what is it every morning I got up what is it on the ground right now. Right now you are Wall Street what you got.

What is it we will meet God to enable me to complain about the you see what happens when you build monuments of misery. Whatever you pay tribute to grows when you build monuments to misery you get real good at it. And misery grows in your life and that's what happened to them. Misery group and that generation never reached the promised land. You know, gossip fine, since y'all don't have the faith to adore me and worship me and hold me in high esteem. I could get you to Canaan in a couple weeks from the other side of the Red Sea to Canaan.

They could've been there couple weeks from then they could've been building their homes possess in their land. Have a good time. Instead, gossip, fine goal of the wilderness, I believe you're here for a whole generation and 40 years. Those folks lived and died in the wilderness because they build monuments to their misery. But what happened but God promised that he would take a man gossip. Fine. But I'll have to take this generation. You know what happened. They can screw up and they grew up. Imagine growing up in the desert. That's where you grew up.

That's where you live and it's funny because I grew up living in the desert, but hearing stories of redemptive history to that point about this great God raised up Abraham and Isaac, and Jacob and Joseph. Joseph was the one responsible for getting Israel into Egypt, but then after Joseph died, there came a Pharaoh who knew not Joseph and he enslaved the people scurry sonic as grew up and said wait now if God is so good and so powerful why we live here we stay in here when God raised up their leader Joshua. When Joshua said what you said to the patient response was completely different. Moses said to the first ones God's way to take us over and a moment and complain and talk about killing but when Joshua said they said we Joshua chapter 1 what we going to do everything you say pastor Joshua to take us to another place that gives your word legal cereals, followership. You know what we would kill people but if we would kill this, we would kill him we would tell complaining.

We went to rebel against God's people like that you can't talk like that leadership like that we would check one another.

We all lay and I want to know is anybody but the Joshua generation try to live in the wilderness.

I want to know if you tired of being in the place where you been, for God knows how long and God says I'm ready to take you what you're going to have to learn to shift gears and asked me for a supersize blessing start asking me for bigger things started leaning and depending on me like never before. Have to shake the dates in prayer you have to all Saints called it language from the Old Testament to the horns of the altar let you go until you see me for some trivial change my lifestyle to be a blessing to have a quality life experience to all I want to bless me, Lord, and supersize it supersize blessing if you make up your mind right here right now.

My past dictate my future. Yes, my parents lived in the will to live in a way to Canaan. My mama named me after I get carrying that anymore. My pass is not going dictate my future shake off shake off that victim mentality that some of thinking in the name of Jesus, shake it all stay with us now. The numbers 855-339-5500 went life's challenges, they always do you have a choice to build monuments to misery alters adoration. The question is do you want to be made well here's Pastor Paul and the rest of today's message in need of a supersize blessing will shake John chapter 5. Sometime later, Jesus went up to Jerusalem for feast of the Jews. Now that was in Jerusalem near the sheep gate a pool which in Aramaic is called Bethesda and which is surrounded by five covered colonnades here. A great number of disabled people used to lie the blind, the lame, the paralyzed what was there had been an for 38 years when Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time. He asked him do you want to get well. Sorry the invalid replied I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I'm trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me just pause right there.

If you are serious about asking for size blessing you want to first cast-off your victim mentality shows us what a victim mentality looks like this condition. 38 years he has been an invalid down, he knows what that life is like he doesn't like it, but he's very, very familiar with.

That's not a problem we get from you with things that stay in our lives alone. Time this is a chronic issue 38 years now understand the application the application as he was not born in invalid John would've told clearly the Gospels make clear when there is a condition whenever somebody was in the condition from birth. You see it in the passage when it gives us the length of time of the affliction of the problem that tells you that it happened in the course of living while you pointed out Pastor because all of us have had unfortunate things happen in the course of living as all trials. If you're born in a certain condition. If condition is still a problem if he had been born and it would be a problem but he will never know anything else so it wouldn't be a problem because it's all he knew now that would've been a problem and there are people born blind, born whatever and you read about it in the passage, and Jesus healed all one of the apostles healed the next step three man who was lame from birth healed problem call on God for supersize blessing, but I'm trying to show you the state of mind. This gentleman is in this condition. 38 years. The implication is he's older than 38.

We don't know. But at some point in his life. Something tragic happened anybody in the course of living had something tragic to happen.

That's why guys like this are in the Bible because of all the things you want complain about their somebody in the Scripture that says been there only one only my friend that you see all all always somebody who understands always somebody who said oh please watch it with somebody when you get started. I wish that's all I had to deal with. Always somebody worse off than you. Somebody worse predicament. Your self is your trouble is special. Trouble is common to man care what it is sickness and disease deformities in your body, whatever it is.

Financial problems used to be rich or poor Job site.

Please Job would tell you which is I was when you see what you and John chapter 1, you know what that translates into a time not translate into somebody got like 1,000,000 1/2 dollars good. I like that is a millionaire called more than $1 million of net worth, that's great, but don't like your rich people in this world will check $4 million and Mr. Callie got set out at one time we were just sharing stories.

I was on the radio in his city and present his church a very famous preacher were talking and he said he was telling me how the Lord to provide encouragement to provide you know what is your start in this broadcast ministry and he said one day I had a man call me and he said listen I you know I admire what you say I've seen, you're going to be whatever time I would you say and he said I think I will send you $1 million. He said now when I do this I don't want you to write me.

I don't want to thank you I don't want to contact me. I'm not doing this for contact is and I'm not giving you any more money to give you million dollars and I want you to just take it and leave me alone. True story.

He said in a few days, certified check $4 million came in the mail to his ministry. He suggests out of instinct. That's what I'm used to doing. I picked up the phone and called because I had a contact information when he and he answered the phone and I said this is so, so I just want to thank you we received a piece of the men cut me off in the middle of the sentence it didn't I tell you not to contact me. He said I'm hanging up and I don't want to ever hear from you again hung up the phone and telling me that people give for different things and forgive other popular he said this man was given as it doesn't write off you to figure out. I got $20 million. I need to get out of my accounts. I need some right also. What are some charitable organizations on get breezy when he was sure he was a believer so we just threw him a meal and he said he told me not to contact you so I said to this pastor was my friend.

I said well he told you to not contact in this may but since you can't do this information with 11 so you can be rich but which is 23 $5 million. Somehow with like-minded dome sees only the athlete to the contract, somebody wrote the contract badly is rich. The guy who wrote the contract is wealthy, wrote the contract is so wealthy that if he had the money that the athlete had to jump out the window in depression is relative. So, is your misery. Quit acting like you got the world's worst trouble. I think we want to fall apart people have some 53 you're going through one God will now lives around to the spirit of despair and elation. All you do. Your misery you want to pray and mad now that God will bless you won't go to church, you will help anybody you looking for some God for you.

I love you enough to tell you that you can get help. You gotta change the way you look at your life, quit looking at polls of people.
