Hi, this is Chris Benjamin, the director for the Salvation Army Soundcast. We wanted to take this opportunity to share some additional messages of encouragement with you from some of our hosts from shows like Wonderful Words of Life and Heartbeat. We just pray that these are an extra blessing to you.

If they are, please share them with a friend. God bless. Hi, y'all. It's Megan Hoffer with the Salvation Army Soundcast, and I just wanted to say hi and check in and offer some words of encouragement to you as we just navigate what our new normal looks like. You may be feeling overwhelmed or anxious, but God did not create us to live in fear. While our days look a bit different, His promises are still true. I know that time and time again, God has made us feel so much better.

Time and time again, God has just shown up in my life on my darkest days and just proven to me that He is a faithful, loving God. And so I think it's important that when we're feeling those thoughts of anxiousness or just scared or overwhelmed that we just take time to refocus our thoughts. So I just wanted to share three things that I think may be helpful for you when you need to kind of get out of your head and refocus what you're thinking. And so one could just be writing down things that you're thankful for. Just taking the time maybe to share in your social media channels or just write down in a journal. Three things that you're thankful for when we focus on our blessings versus our worries.

It can really just reset how we're feeling. Secondly, be the sunshine. Reach out to someone.

Maybe God's put someone in your heart. Send them a text or FaceTime or send them a Facebook message. Just let them know that they're being thought of. That can really just brighten someone's day. And then lastly, dig into God's Word. Scripture is filled with just wisdom of strength for us to get through our day and just so much hope wrapped in throughout the Bible of God's faithfulness. So I thought that I'd just share one verse that over the years has really meant a lot to me when I am feeling overwhelmed and anxious.

And it's in Philippians chapter four, verse eight. Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable, if anything is excellent or praiseworthy, think about such things. So cling to what is good. Cling to the hope that we have in Jesus and just know that you're not alone and that you are loved. And hopefully we'll be able to share more nuggets of wisdom with you as, again, we just navigate what this new normal looks like. Thank you. Have a good day.
