You know, it's amazing that you could have a conversation in one segment. You take a little commercial break. And then right after that. What you just said in the previous segment could kind of totally just be done so.
So Danny Connell, to his credit, joined us in the last segment. And he said 60% chance he would put it at Dion going to the Cowboys. Now, I said I'd put it at 15%. I would up that number. I would up that number. Here is Jane Slater from the NFL Network.
And I asked, I said this, right? I go, I think Dion is using the Cowboys. And the Cowboys obviously are interested in Dion. And I'm not saying he wouldn't take it. But I think Dion's preference right now is to stay with the Colorado Buffaloes.
But we got to figure out what they are really trying to get here from Colorado. Like they have a contract to him. For whatever reason, he hasn't signed it.
They still have to cross some T's and they have to dot some I's. So Jane Slater, during the commercial break, has a very specific report when it comes to Dion Sanders. One thing to watch, according to Jane Slater, following Jerry Jones and his initial discussion with Dion Sanders. Two people with knowledge of the situation tell me Sanders approached Colorado AD Rick George Tuesday about additional money for NIL and his staff. He was met with resistance.
The University of Colorado would neither confirm or deny the information when I reached out. Dion Sanders didn't respond when reached multiple times for comment. Now, two things here. Colorado should be doing everything in their power to keep Dion Sanders. Find the NIL money. Find the extra money for his staff. Because what happens to Colorado football if Dion Sanders leaves? Irrelevant.
Back to the pit of misery. That's number one. Number two. Stu, I'm going to read this to you again.
You tell me which sentence stands out to you the most. One thing to watch following Jerry Jones and his initial discussion with Dion Sanders. Two people with knowledge of the situation tell me Sanders approached Colorado AD Rick George Tuesday about additional money for NIL and his staff. He was met with resistance. The University of Colorado would neither confirm or deny the information when I reached out.
Dion Sanders didn't respond when reached out multiple times for comment. Period. Which statement?
Which sentence stands out to you the most? Probably the Colorado reached out and confirmed or deny. I agree with you. The University of Colorado would neither confirm or deny the information when I reached out. That means the information is true, folks. Because if it wasn't true, how many times does a athletic department or a college program, will they sit there even when things are true and they'll deny them? The fact that they didn't even deny this, when the AD or people, a sports information director, whatever it is, didn't even respond to Jayne Slater. And no offense, this isn't like, oh, it's some random reporter. You know, this is Jayne Slater of the NFL Network, right? And she also does work with 105.3, the fan in Dallas. Like, this is not just some random blogger or random reporter. You know, this is someone that has done a lot of reporting and is a well-respected journalist in Jayne Slater. And the fact that when she reaches out to Colorado, they wouldn't confirm or deny the report makes me think that it's 100% true. So I will uppity up, I will augment, I will increase, I will expand my 15% prediction of Deion Sanders being the next head football coach of the Dallas Cowboys. 38%.
And that's subject to change. Deion Sanders loves attention. Jerry Jones loves attention. I don't know if it will end up working if he is hired, but aren't they kind of made for one another? Like, their egos, it's two alphas.
Maybe they don't clash well. But to at least see it happen, it would be fun. It would be entertaining. And the drama Dallas choking Cowboys, who have been covered a lot, right?
We always joke around being a national show. What Cowboys segment are we doing today? You think we do a lot of Cowboys segments before. If Deion Sanders, let me be respectful because I am a believer, if Coach Prine is the next HC of the Dallas Cowboys, oh boy, that's something. That's going to be a lot of coverage. That's going to be talked about a lot. But that Jane Slater report is the first time where I have moved off the stance of, I expect Deion to be back at Colorado to now have me saying where there's smoke, there's fire.
Now, the tough part here is sniffing through all the BS because how much of the interest is legitimate? I do think there's legitimate interest from Jerry Jones and there's legitimate interest from Deion Sanders. But does that mean Deion's going to get the job?
And this is ultimately what Jerry's going to have to ask himself. How much is controlling the head coach priority number one to him? Because if he's about controlling the head coach, you're hiring Kellen Moore. If you're about having the head coach maybe be bigger than you in terms of coverage and in terms of talking points, well, Deion Sanders becomes bigger than you.
Now, how the control dynamic works, finalization of the roster, that's still all up in the air. But usually after Cowboys games, we're not rushing to the fan in Dallas. We're not rushing to ESPN to tune in to Mike McCarthy's press conference or Dak Prescott's press conference. We're tuning in to see Jerry Jones' press conference. Deion Sanders becomes head coach of the Cowboys.
It will be the first time since Parcells where you are rushing to tune in to someone speak after the game. That is not Jerry Jones and it's actually would be the coach in Deion Sanders. Because whether you like Deion Sanders or not is irrelevant. Deion Sanders is must watch TV and must watch entertainment.
But it's kind of crazy from 1041 a.m. Eastern time this morning and 448 p.m. Eastern time this late afternoon, how we have been bookend with two Deion Sanders reports. One from Ed Warder, regarding Deion Sanders, I'm being told that he would almost certainly accept if Jerry Jones offers to make him the next Cowboys head coach, that those around him are encouraging him to pursue it and that Jones is enamored with Deion Sanders. Deion Sanders is the head coach of the enamored with the idea. Now looking back at the Ed Warder report, if he gets offered the job, I do believe that he'll accept it. Because you would then not only get interviewed, you would be deep along in the process of offering him the job. If Deion goes through this process that long and he gets offered the job, that means he wants the job.
If it's just now an exploratory phone call that they had going back to Monday night and that's it, you know, you're not going to get offered the job just based off of that. So if it does get to the point where they offer him, I would imagine that clearly the Cowboys then want to get it done, but then Deion would want to get it done as well. You know, it's like back to the Jim Harbaugh situation in Minnesota. When he was at Michigan, he ultimately stayed. You could spin it how you want, but the Vikings didn't offer him the job. Harbaugh went through the way. I don't think Deion Sanders doing a 13 hour interview, but like the Harbaugh interview was like 13 hours.
I don't know. You put Jerry Jones and Deion Sanders in the same room, they could talk forever. They could talk forever. So if the job is offered, that means Deion is interested. And I think if Deion is interested and then he gets offered the job, he'll take it. But how much is their legitimate interest by Deion? And in the Warder report, the biggest part where people around him are encouraging him to pursue it. And the Jane Slater report, one thing to watch following Jerry Jones' initial discussion with Deion Sanders, two people with knowledge of the situation tell me Sanders approached Colorado AD Rick George Tuesday about additional money for NIL and his staff. He was met with resistance. The University of Colorado would neither confirm or deny information when I reached out.
Deion Sanders didn't respond when reached out multiple times for comment. The biggest part about that report once again is that the university wouldn't deny what Jane Slater was saying. That Coach Prime wants more NIL money and then wants more money for his staff. So this is juicy. And when I say 38%, maybe higher than that now.
And you take me higher. And maybe even higher than that. I think Danny Connell, who said like, I'm not going to say 50-50. You know, I'll go into the 40 range though.
42%. Either Kellen Moore will be the next head coach of the Cowboys or Deion Sanders will be. That's kind of my line of thinking today. And when I started this show, did I anticipate that would be my line of thinking? No.
I just thought that it was going to be Kellen Moore. But this is getting very, very, very interesting. Now, I want to find this before I actually say it, just to make sure that I get this person accurately quoted.
So let me just see if I can do this real quickly. But anyway, I remember the gist of the conversation. I had a conversation with someone right before the start of the college football season.
And they unsolicited texted me, someone that I trust. And I said, I'll make a prediction. And he said, I'll make a prediction.
Deion Sanders isn't back at Colorado next year. That's what someone told me before the start of this college football season. And we've talked about that on the air. We have talked about that prediction when it happened on the air.
So it's not something I'm just pulling out of my ass and saying, oh, no, now I have it now. But that person thought whether Deion was successful or not this past year at Colorado, that he was going to be leaving Colorado at the end of the year. So that's what just someone told me before the start of the college football season. Now, when the college football season ended, I didn't see a way that Deion was going to leave, unless it was for a bigger job. And then he got the big quarterback and it's like, oh, nope, he's going to be staying there. But now the cowboy job has opened up. And this has been something that has been talked about before, the Dallas Cowboys and Deion Sanders. Stu, this is getting fascinating.
I'll tell you this. The other day when Nick Harris joined us, he said it's unrealistic right now. I agree with him. I did not like if you told me yes or no yesterday with Deion be the head coach of the Cowboys, I would have said no. Today, I think it's an I don't know.
And I'm not usually an I don't know guy. But me saying I don't know makes me feel as if this is a lot more of a legitimate possibility than it was a day ago or even earlier this morning. Because whenever it's contract negotiations, you don't know what people are asking for and how much they're just asking to ask and then what they really want. The fact that we have the specifics out there now that it's NIL money and it's more money for his staff, that makes me think when you try to guess the source, this is coming from someone in the Deion Sanders camp. Now, Jane Slater said that when she reached out to Deion Sanders, he didn't respond. But one thing to watch following Jerry Jones' initial discussion with Deion Sanders, two people's knowledge of the situation tell me Sanders approached Colorado A.D. Rick George Tuesday about additional money for NIL and his staff.
He was met with resistance. The University of Colorado would neither confirm or deny the information when I reached out. Deion Sanders didn't respond and reached multiple times for comment. This is someone close to Deion Sanders, I would say, giving this information out. Or maybe it's someone on the staff.
Maybe it's someone in the coaches house that's like, I want more money. I know Coach Prime's going to bat. There's some NFL names on that staff, right? You know, I don't think it's tough to get in contact with Jane Slater.
And you get that information. So that's something to watch, right? I think Warren Sapp used to work for the NFL Network. He's on staff years ago. Yeah, Pat Shermer there. Like, there's guys NFL connections on the staff. And even if they don't have NFL connections, like, you know, Jane Slater's a massive name covering the NFL and she also covers the Cowboys.
And she's digging on this story. So still, I think that there's a chance, like a good chance now. I would not have said that earlier this morning.
I agree. I think it's like 55 percent chance Deion, 45 Kellen. How awesome would this be?
It'd be great. Your math, yeah, your math's right on that. 55, 45. When Canell was just throwing out numbers left and right, I'm like, uh-oh, this is why I only took one math class in college because he was like, yeah, I don't know if those numbers are going to be right. I'm like, buddy, you're asking the wrong dude. You're asking the dude that once said on the air, there's a 60, 30 percent chance of something happening. OK, but I am intrigued.
And you know what? I started off the show saying the best thing for Deion would be to stay at Colorado. But I did say I would prefer him to take the cowboy job. I want him to really take this cowboy job now.
I want it bad. I want him to take this cow. I would I would be thoroughly disappointed if he does not take the cowboy job now.
Would be disappointed if it's at least offered to him and then disappointed if he didn't take it. Things I did not expect to talk about today. We know we're talking about Deion, but getting the reasonings why he's upset or hasn't signed the new deal at Colorado. And if you're Colorado, you want to talk about fumbling the bag.
All Deion has to say was, remember what life was like before me. Just remember that. And if you can't find the money for a staff in the NIL and I don't know what the demands are, who Colorado goes from fun story, relevant story to where's the Colorado program? Oh, I don't care about them anymore. We'll see what happens.
Talk to a Glover Quinn when we come on back. It is that Gelb show right here. Infinity Sports Network.
All right. It is that Gelb show on the Infinity Sports Network. This portion of the show is sponsored by Hyundai. Now you can buy a new Hyundai from the comfort of your home at Amazon.
Visit Hyundai USA dot com for more details. Let's go out to the guest line. The Detroit Lions will play a playoff game this weekend. They're 60 minutes away from going back to the NFC championship game, the road to the Superbowl through the NFC. As long as Detroit keeps on winning goes through them. And Glover Quinn is a former Detroit line and the host of the podcast, Believe in Lions.
The Believe Network is available on all at audio platforms, including YouTube and the Believe Football Fast Channel. Glover Quinn, appreciate the time. How you been? Man, I've been good. How you been? Well, I've been good. So I got to start you off with Deion Sanders and all these cowboy rumors.
There's a lot to come out in the last 24 hours. You know, Ed Warder saying people close to Deion are pushing in to take the job. Jane Slater from the NFL Network just said Deion is having some hiccups with Colorado when it comes to NIL and more money for his staff. You having the former player perspective. How do you think Coach Prime Deion Sanders would work in the NFL?
I mean, I think it'll be a little different. Obviously, you're dealing with, you know, grown men. I think he's even said it, you know, dealing with grown men, rich men, as opposed to young high school and college athletes that you can have more of an influence on with more than just football. And, you know, he deals a lot with life things that I think he has a lot more influence on those guys than, you know, dealing with all of the things that come with being an NFL head coach.
I mean, could it work? I think he could, because he's been in the locker room. He's been around the NFL for a long time. So he understands players.
He understands what it takes. I just wonder how it would be, you know, with his connection with the team and how he does things. Because, like I said, you'll be dealing with grown men as opposed to, you know, college students or, you know, when he was a high school coach. You know, if you were, let's say, in that Cowboys locker room and Jerry Jones said, hey, we're going to make Deion Sanders the next coach just because he's one of the greatest football players of all time and the big personality and the way that he resonates with so many people with that, like kind of resonate with you as a player or is it, okay, you know, I kind of got a job to do.
I don't need all that drama. I mean, I think in the NFL, it's kind of one of those things. Yes, you could resonate in some ways. But at the end of the day, you know, as an NFL head coach, he has a lot more responsibility. So it's not like he's going to be able to be just right there with the DBs the entire time. So you're going to be closer with your DB coach. And I don't think the guys in the NFL need the extra that comes with Coach Prime and his, you know, his whole staff and, you know, the video and all that stuff because they've already made it to the NFL. I mean, a lot of those guys in high school, Jackson State, you know, Colorado, they benefit from the extra social media attention. They benefit from that as college kids. I don't know if guys in the NFL, I mean, you go to the Cowboys, I don't know if Dak Prescott needs that.
I don't know if Trayvon Diggs like Michael Parsons, I don't know if they need his social media. But I mean, you know, I mean, if he can game plan, control the team, lead the team in the right direction and, you know, bring some some swagger and some attitude and the things that he brings, then and they win games. I feel like he'll be accepted anywhere. Do you feel like right now, Glover Quinn, as you got six jobs that are still open, that the Lions, I know that they're getting ready for this game coming up on Saturday. Do you feel as if Ben Johnson and both Aaron Glenn will both be out of here at the end of the season?
I think it'll be very difficult to keep them. I mean, I think, you know, winning coaches consistently winning, you know, they've stuck with those guys for a while and they've progressively gotten better and better and better. And now they're clicking offensively and defensively. And I think it's very difficult to keep winning coordinators, winning coaches in that sense.
And it's the same way with players. When you're when you're a good player coming from a winning team, you are you're more valuable in free agency in a sense when you're a good player. But you're coming from a bad team. I mean, yeah, you're going to get looked at as been a good player, but you're also coming from a bad team.
But when you're a good player coming from a good team, then you're going to be way more valuable. And so being a good coordinator on a good team, NFC championship appearance last year, hopefully another NFC championship to a Super Bowl and possibly hopefully winning it this year. They definitely going to be coveted by all those all those six teams, whether they take the job or get offered in what they would want is yet to be seen.
But I definitely think that they're going to have a lot of a lot of people coming out through Glover Quinn here with us. It seems like right now that Aaron Glenn is either going to be the next coach of the Saints or the Jets, like that's just what the rumors say when it comes to Ben Johnson. You tell him to Ziggy Zags last year, I thought he's going to take the commander's job.
He comes back to Detroit a month ago. I would have said the Bears job. Then two weeks ago, I would have said the Jaguars job.
And now I can't believe I'm saying this, but I feel like he's going to the Raiders. But what do you think ends up happening here with Ben Johnson? What job do you think he takes? You know, I think the thing about Ben is I don't think anybody really knows.
I mean, I don't I don't know being personally. So I think the thing that happens is we don't know his leadership style. We don't see his personality a lot to to know where he will fit well. I mean, we could say Aaron Glenn with the Saints and the Jets because he played with the Jets and he coached with the Saints for a while.
So you can see those obvious connections. And then obviously we kind of see some personality from Aaron Glenn on the sidelines so we can see a little fire and grit. And also that's what it takes to be a defensive player in the NFL.
But at the end of the day, Ben Justin is a play caller. We don't even really see him interact a lot of time with the players. So we don't even know what his coaching, I don't even know what his coaching style is because I could see, okay, personality wise, does he fit in New York? I don't know. Does he fit in Chicago? I don't know. Maybe he's a Dallas guy. Do you put him, do you send him to Vegas? You know, does he have that leadership to where he can command a team and be able to control a team in Vegas? I don't know. I honestly don't know.
And I think that's the big thing about being there. I don't think anybody knows other than Ben and the coaches on the line staff. How mysterious he is. It's fascinating to me because he's like the mad scientist. His offenses are so fun to watch, but you're right.
I know nothing, nothing else outside of that. He likes to get the football to fat offensive linemen and he likes to draw up all these crazy plays. Him as a person like Aaron Glenn, you're right. You see it. You know, that guy could be a leader of men. Ben Johnson, a mad scientist is the way that I would say, Glover Quinn.
Yeah. And the thing is, you know, sometimes, you know, the smart, the best thing a person can do is to know themselves, right? You got to know what you're comfortable with, what you can do, what you're good at, what you're not so good at. And we can all sit around here and say, because Ben Johnson is having great success as a coordinator, that he shouldn't be the next head coach and he's this and he's that. Ben Johnson knows if he feels like he could be a head coach.
Some people just literally like calling plays and drawn up plays. And all they got to worry about is my offensive coordinator. It's all I got to worry about is my offense. I don't have to deal with the media. I don't have to talk to the media. I don't have to worry about what's going on defense.
I don't have to worry about, I don't have to answer questions. I don't have to do any of those things other than draw up plays and scheme up the best ways to get my guys the ball. And some people like that. And so I don't know if that's Ben Johnson, or I don't know if he has aspirations to want to be a real head coach, because I think if he did, he could have, he could have left last year. So maybe he's waiting for a specific type of job, but at the end of the day, if you're getting hired right now, you're probably going to a team that fired a coach.
So they probably didn't have a great season. So you're going to have to have a personality to be able to come in and change the culture somewhere, somewhere. And I just don't know. I'm not saying that he can't do it. I just don't know. We don't ever get to see that from Ben. Talking to Glover Quinn right now.
All right. To get into the game on Saturday, commanders had a fun victory. They've been a fun story. Jayden Daniels is a heck of a player. Can the commanders win this game? How can you see the commanders maybe pulling off the upset up against your, your Lions?
Well, the thing I can see them, you know, if they pull the upset, obviously Jayden Daniels is going to have to play fantastic. And from everything I've seen from him, he has the ability. He doesn't seem phased. He doesn't seem like the moment is too big for him. He seems paused. His first playoff game last week, he didn't seem jittery. He didn't seem out of control. He ran when he was supposed to ram.
He may be, he may have even taken more hits than he probably should have taken last week. And so the thing, the thing that I, that, that the way that I can see it is obviously him being able to control the clock. Sometimes the best defense is a good offense. And so if they can run the ball and get positive yards with Brian Robinson, then that's going to open up things on third and short for Zach Ertz across the middle. And then Jayden Daniels just being able to run and get the first down. And that's so frustrating for a defense. And so if they can sustain eight, 10, 12, 14 play drives, take six, seven minutes off the clock and get touchdowns in the red zone, that's going to be tough. And if you look at when the Lions have lost, you know, they lost early in the season to Tampa Bay, they got behind early in the game and they never really got a chance to get the run game going, which leads to all their play action and everything that they can do. Jared Goff threw the ball over 50 something times that game.
That's a recipe for the disaster for them. But then the same thing kind of happened in Buffalo, but you also had Josh Allen, who was also a mobile quarterback, probably not as mobile as Jayden Daniels, but he was a mobile quarterback. He controlled the game and they were able to come in and beat up on the Lions pretty good as well. So I think Jayden Daniels being composed in that environment, because it's going to be electric, him being composed in that environment and being able to control the game, run when he's supposed to run, um, and, you know, make timely completions to those guys and control the clock. I think that right there is, would be how they can upset the Lions, but they're going to have to be on point because the Lions are, they're going to be more than likely, they're going to be connecting on all cylinders at home.
Wrap it up with Glover Quinn does a great job now with the Believe Podcast Network, Believe in Lions, former Lion, and also a part of the Houston Texans organization. So you look at the last three years with Detroit, Glover, right? They started off slow, uh, three years ago. They finished incredibly strong. It laid the foundation of last year.
What's going to be an intriguing season. I thought the Lions last year as good of a team that they were, they overachieved. They had an opportunity with the bleed in the NFC championship game to get to the Super Bowl. They didn't take care of business this year. It's clear it's Super Ball or bust, but sometimes you have an organization like the Lions.
It's like, all right, just what bad luck are we going to get? And this year, every injury that happened happened and here they are still with the number one overall seed and they're two wins away from getting to the Super Bowl. Just how confident are you right now that this is their year to not only get to the Super Bowl, but that they'll be hosting up the Lombardi Trophy on February 9th?
You know, I'm pretty confident in, in, in their ability. They've, they've shown all year, um, that they've been a top team in the NFL from offensively. They've been stellar all year. Defensively, they've had some struggles.
They deal with that, dealt with a lot of injuries, guys went down, obviously they lost their, their best player in Aiden Hutchinson early in the season. Um, but they've battled through all those things and those guys, those young guys, they've come in and they've, they've learned, they've gotten good game experience. And these last few weeks against San Francisco, against Minnesota, they've been playing really good football. And I think that they worked really hard to get the number one seed in the NFL. And now the, the road to the Super Bowl goes through Detroit. Now, when you look at it, they didn't lose a road game all year. So I don't think they were afraid to go on the road.
I mean, they actually lost two games at home. Right. And so it's not going to just be a cakewalk because you're playing in four field is going to be difficult. It is going to be that. Um, but I think they got to, I think they got a tough road. I know it may not seem like it, but I think the commander's matchup could be, could be a tough matchup.
And depending on what happens in that game, I think, I think the Rams or the Eagles could be a tough matchup. And so they're going to have to earn it. And that's the only way that you would expect for it to be coming from Detroit. Um, and I mean, if you haven't been to the Super Bowl ever in history, it's not going to be laid out on your red carpet.
You're going to have to really kick some doors down to get there. And so that's, that's, that's the way it's set up. And if they win, right, you talked about it. They'll get the winner of the Eagles and the Rams. I know we saw that in the playoffs last year, but could you imagine is standing in front of the lions going to the Super Bowl? Matthew Stafford standing there in Detroit with the rat would be something, man. That'd be crazy.
That, that, that, that's what I'm saying. That would be so crazy. That would be like, can you imagine how big of a game that would be to have the Rams in Ford field with Matthew Stafford at the quarterback to go to the Super Bowl? Oh man, that'd be huge. That'd be huge. But that honestly, I mean, I'd rather see Philadelphia though, in terms of the game and all the offensive firepower, we know the Rams have a ton of it, but you look at Saquon, you look at AJ Brown, Devante Smith, and Jalen hurt, man, as a fan, you know, with no dog in the fight, I'd rather see lions and Eagles.
Yeah. I mean, I would probably rather see lions and Eagles. That'd be, you know, that that's a game I think would be, would be a tough game just because of everything that they present, you know, guys on every level from a quarterback to a running back to tight end to two wide receivers. I mean, they, they, they will be tough. And then they obviously got the top defense in the league. So they got good offense and they got good defense. And both coaches are maniacs too.
Like I never know what to expect from Campbell or Sirianni when I watch it. Yeah. Yeah. That'd be, that'd be some fireworks if that happened, man. So I think either way, and you know, Darius slaves on the Eagles team, a former lion, you know what I'm saying? So he would be, you know, one of those guys that's trying to be in the, in the way of the lions getting to the super bowl as well. So I think either way is going to be a, an incredible matchup, but I mean, the lions got to go out and handle the commanders first, and then you can worry about, you know, what, what, what the other teams do on Sunday.
Last thing I'll ask you get into a team that you played for to start your career, the Texans. Well, you thought they would take that next step this year. Most of the season looked like they haven't been ready to do so, but here they are once again in the divisional round where they were last year, except this time they're going up against Kansas city. Can you see CJ shroud walking into our head and pulling off the upset, or is this just going to be Kansas city winning the game?
I mean, I think, I think they can. I think, you know, I, one of the things I saw last week from CJ that I hadn't, that I hadn't seen was he looked, he looked determined last week. Some of the times I saw him run last week, it's like, that's what we've been waiting on CJ. We're not saying you have to be Lamar Jackson, but there's times where you can run and pick up a first down. You don't always have to just throw the ball five yards or, you know what I'm saying? You have the ability to run. If you need to run to get a first down.
And I think last week he went in that game and he felt like, okay, first of all, I can't turn the ball over. We can't stay behind this change. So we got to, we got to keep getting positive yards and it's going to be me.
It's going to be Nico and it's going to be Joe mixing. We're we are going to have to lead us offense. We don't have anybody else. We don't have tank that we don't have Stefan Dick. We don't have anybody else but us.
And I thought he did a phenomenal job. He played tough, um, played determined. And I think if he goes into Kansas city and have that same mentality, I mean, if you look, if you think about when they played the chiefs a few weeks ago, I mean, they, they were neck and neck with those guys all the way until the tank Dell injury. Um, once tank got hurt, then that kind of took the wind out of their cells and it was down here from there, but they were right there. So I don't think they're going to go into that atmosphere. Cause they, they, they just been there three weeks ago, two weeks ago, however many it was.
So I don't think they're going to go there and just be, you know, shell shocked or any of these things. And the chiefs haven't played in, in, in three weeks. And so when you think about it in that regard, they're going to come out fresh and just rolling, or they're going to come out a little sluggish. And if they come out a little sluggish and keep the game close, anything could happen. And now the chiefs have won a lot of one score games this year. Um, but we all know when it's, when it's a one score game, it could go either way and they've, they've made a lot of the plays and that's why they are a championship team. But that means the Texans can, can make those plays as well. And so I think it'd be a good game. Like I say, the first quarter you're baby to tell how it's going to go.
The chief's either going to come out smoking hot or they're going to come out a little rusty, little, little, you know, a little sluggish. He's Glover Quinn, former Detroit lion in Houston, Texas. And now the host of the podcast, Believe in Lions, Believe Network is available on all audio platforms, including YouTube and the Believe Football Fast Channel. Glover Quinn, thanks for doing this.
Oh man. Thank you for having me. There he is. Glover Quinn joining us on the Zach Gelb show on the Infinity Sports Network.
Really good insight on Deion Sanders, the lions, and also the chiefs Texan player mentality as well. Let's get an update in. Here is Zach. Alrighty Zach Gelb show, Infinity Sports Network.
Let's listen up. This is Justin Jefferson, I guess on locker clean out day with the Minnesota Vikings on his future with the Vikings in the future of the Minnesota Vikings. You know, have a new contract, you know, three, four more years on that contract. So I'm locked in and it's going to be here for, for those, for those years. So just looking forward to what we have, you know, coming up and looking forward to the new team that we're going to have the new players that we're going to have on the team.
So it's just crazy to that, you know, it all, it just comes to an ending. Yeah, it, it, it was a successful season. When you look at it for most of the year, we were praising the Vikings. They've overachieved people thought like seven, eight wins for them. They ended up winning 14 games, but it ended really quick for them. They went from playing for the one seed to then getting thrown to the fifth seed and then losing on wild card weekend on that Monday night and, and getting blown out. But when he said new players, people are going to take that and run and you go, okay, that means Sam isn't coming back and it's going to be JJ McCarthy.
I don't know what's going to happen, but I would assume that JJ McCarthy is going to be the starting quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings next year. And, you know, to end the show on a somber note, but also to celebrate an unbelievable life, Bob Euchre we found out did pass away at the age of 90 today. Obviously, you know, played in, in major league baseball from 62 to 67, and then was the long time iconic voice for the Milwaukee Brewers starting in 1971. And some of the best play-by-play calls that you'll ever hear in an actual baseball game. And then also what he did in the, in the, in the role of major league, which was just unbelievable. We put together a little Bob Euchre montage from what he was able to do in major league. Vaughn into the windup in his first offering. Just a bit outside.
He tried the corner and missed. So the tribe drops its third straight on this trip, six to one to the Rangers. For the Indians, one run on, let's say one hit. That's all we got one got hit. Don't worry. Nobody's listening.
Anyway, post-game show is brought to you by Christ. I can't find it, which will bring up Haywood who leads the league in most offensive categories, including nose hair. When this guy sneezes, he looks like a party favor.
Hey, what's a convicted felon. Isn't he money? Doesn't really say it here. Well, he should be swings and crushes one towards South America. Tomlinson is going to need a visa to catch this one funny. Anything to add.
He's not the best color man in the league for nothing. Just what an all time, great movie. And obviously an all time, great life of Bob Euchre, who unfortunately did pass away today at the age of 90, just so many iconic people in that movie. Uh, when you look back at the characters with Bob Euchre and the voice and how that's just such a big soundtrack for the movie, uh, you have Roger Dorn, Willie Mays Hayes, Pedro Serrano, Jake Taylor, and you just go on and on and on and on and on and on and on. Um, and then, uh, Rick Vaughn too with the whole wild thing. But I'll tell you, uh, I think my favorite character from that movie was, was actually Pedro Serrano, especially with the, the voodoo that he practiced and everything that was, uh, that was in his locker. So just an unbelievable and I mean an unbelievable movie.
Um, but it's crazy. Like you look back at the life of Bob Euchre and look at all that that guy did for major league baseball. You know, he played, he was a iconic voice for years with the Brewers.
And the first thing you think of is his role in the movie, major league being the play-by-play broadcaster and just a sensational, and I mean a sensational job that he did and, uh, what a wonderful life that he lived and obviously rest in peace and our condolences to everyone that knew Bob Euchre.
