Forget the election.

Forget the college football playoff rankings. This segment right now for the next 15 minutes or so. I don't want to say it's the highlight of my week because that would be really lame and really pathetic. But I was really looking forward to this.

And in my world, in my universe, I think this is the biggest thing going on right now. And it's because Ryan Hot Take Hickey is joining us on his weekly spot in studio. There was so much buzz that we pushed it back an hour because I wanted to just wait and wait and wait and wait to get to talk to Hickey. So Hickey, congratulations, by the way.

Thank you, Zman. For what exactly? Well, I saw a good tweet.

PSU underscore TK. OK. And college went red. So we finally won a big game. That's how Penn State fans are spinning it because your football team can actually win a big game. Well, say college was right on Saturday with Ohio State red. So there's a lot of things that we got to unpack from this game.

Sure. This is now in back to back years. You have had this dangerous amount of confidence that Penn State would beat Ohio State. And you were just dead wrong this year in a fair take going in because there was a legitimate question about the Ohio State offensive line.

But this is what I love about you. When you are so confident about something, you make it seem as if there's a zero percent chance that that team could do what actually tough football teams do. And as Thomas Dimitrov said the other day, not up and actually find a way to do better than what's expected of them. And that offensive line for Ohio State wasn't perfect, but they were more physical in the game than Ohio State was. And with the game on the line.

Right. The defense for Ohio State made a stand and then offensively they ran the ball right down your throat. So speak for yourself and atone for your sins after making fun of the Ohio State offensive line.

I got fooled. This was the most vulnerable Ohio State team since 2011 when they went six and seven with Luke Fickle. They had real holes, real concerns. This was supposed to be the year.

You're at home. Penn State's offense is actually looking company. You have some playmakers.

You have a good defense. This was supposed to be the year. And I got fooled.

I got fooled yet again because guess what? It wasn't supposed to be the year, though. No, this was. To beat Ohio. I'm not even talking about now. Just to beat Ohio State, this was the year. You said last year was supposed to be the year. You're at home.

You're on the road. They should have beat them last year. And they just, they, classic Penn State came up short. But at least this year you had a real path of quarterback questions of Will Howard. A week prior you saw Ohio State offensive line get bullied by Nebraska and not be able to run the ball and almost lose that game at home. They were, they truly had holes, like real holes that Penn State could take advantage of for the first time since I was a student there. And so shame on me for believing that this is supposed to be the year when there were actual, like, real vulnerabilities with Ohio State for the first time in a long time. And yet again, Penn State can't come through. And yet again, the same issues pop up every single time they play this team.

It's maddening. Can I just make a comparison here? Have you watched the show, Ted? Not the movie, the show that came out, Ted? No.

The teddy bear? Yeah, so. I didn't know they made a show. Yeah, it's actually a pretty good watch. It's funny.

I would recommend it. But in the show there's a bully. Right? There's a bully. And his father left the family when the bully was young.

And that's why he's a bully. So Ted and, you know, whoever is the owner of Ted in the show, right? The kid. They play a joke where they pretend to be the kid's father. And they tell the kid to dress up in like a sailor suit and meet us at the restaurant. Because I guess the mom told him, like, he was away right in the Navy. So they had this kid showing up thinking his father was finally going to meet him and finally wanted to have something to do with his life. Sounds strange.

Yeah, in a diner. And then they called him and they were like, hey, I can't make it. You are the bully in the show. You always think Dad is coming home. You always think Penn State is going to win the big game.

And you talk yourself up every year when you know Dad isn't coming home because he wanted nothing to do with your life. And every year you talk yourself up that Penn State is going to win a big game and they don't. To be fair to myself, in terms of this comparison, it's not like my delusion I was on an island. There were a lot of people, national, other coaches, other fans that believe this was the year. We all got we all got fooled again.

But my delusion, sometimes I could be on an island by myself. This was not the case. I was in the majority. I was in the majority here. No, you weren't. There was a lot of people picking Penn State. You were not in the majority. There was a big thought they were going to win this game. I was in the majority.

So like if it's out of 100 percent, you have to have over 50 percent. Correct. Did you see a lot of people picking Ohio State?

Yes. I didn't. You want to know who? Who? The most knowledgeable person talking about college football on this station. Me.

I saw Nick Saban wearing a Nittany Lion. And let me say this. I have stripped you of your status for years. I have given you the king, the crown. You have been the king of college football. I have said Hickey is the most passionate and knowledgeable about college football. You predicted that Penn State was going to win. I had Ohio State winning. And then also, last night I went 12 for 12 on the bracket. I got every matchup right.

Every matchup right. So I have relegated you to the backup quarterback duty. You are now the second most knowledgeable person on this network with college football. I mean, to take a victory lap.

The Ohio State prediction, fine. To take a victory lap over the rankings is a little... I'm just saying. That's a stretch. You know. I see some other national radio shows, not on this network.

I'm not taking any shots on this network. But on the ESPN that put out a little bracket thinking they were going to get everything right. And they weren't 100% right. I mean the AP poll was... They filed the AP poll except for one.

They flipped Ohio State and Georgia. I'm a good student. Outside of that. I do my homework. Sheesh.

I do my homework. They didn't have a lot of creativity there. No, I'm just saying. And by the way, they were not right. But anyway.

But you know what? I'm actually disappointed in you. Why? Because I saw one of these videos you put out.

And your voice went to an octave that I didn't even know it was possible to go to. You really incensed about any of these rankings? Like I don't care on the first ranking. They got the 12 teams right. If you want to say the order's wrong, fine. But how do you get so fired up about the ranking of a BYU?

Like okay, they were 9. But they're the fourth seed right now. So who cares that they rank them 9 and then they end up getting the fourth seed just because of the format the four highest ranked conference champions get by. It matters because of the criteria you're using. Like they are clearly not using the same criteria when you're judging teams.

So if they're not going to judge teams evenly in week 11, what makes you think they're going to judge them evenly in week 15? We're going to have to actually make the real bracket. So how far do you think BYU should be in front of Penn State? BYU should be 4. They should be in front of Penn State. They should absolutely be in front of Penn State. Indiana should be in front of Penn State. Miami should be behind. Absolutely.

Without a doubt. Wait, Miami should be behind Penn State? Oh yeah, Miami should be like 8.

No. Who are they beating? They don't have a loss though and they have a Heisman Trophy winner at quarterback. And if they played Penn State, and you know what, they played Penn State with the state of your offense, I would trust Cam Moore to outscore him. With that Miami defense?

Yeah. No chance. No chance. Just like there was no chance that Ohio State was going to be able to beat you guys.

No chance. Ohio State's defense is one of the best in the country. Look, Penn State's offense was disappointing.

I'm well aware. Miami's right now defense can't stop anybody. Your offense scored 6 points. Can't stop anybody.

6 points. Miami should have lost to Vatek, got a lucky call on a, again, a reversal that nobody's aware of. No, no, they've had flaws. They had a comeback against Cal. They got a lucky, somehow, no, the referee's love thrown targeting call flags ever except that one call. Like, they shouldn't have two losses, realistically, in a weak ACC. But they don't. But I'm saying, they don't because, not because of their talent, but because of the referees.

And you play, you're losing to Duke at home by 11 in the second half of the event. That ended up covering them. They did. Again, credit to them. They ran away with it.

Trust me. I was on Duke plus the points. But it's like, if you're looking at this ranking, it's like, what screams? What has Miami done to deserve right now the fourth ranking?

My answer is nothing. Cam Ward is tremendous. Highest in trophy, absolutely.

Great offense, though. It doesn't mean you're the best team in the country. Here's what's stupid, though, I think, with the 12-team format. It's just like, if you're going to tell me the four highest-ranked conference champions need buys, then, and I know it's the group of five school. They're just going to get the 12-seat each and every year. I think the five highest-ranked conference champions should just be guaranteed a spot into the college football playoff. I don't necessarily think they need a buy. What do you think about that? Well, with the 12-team, you have to, like, you have to have buys.

No, no. You have to have a buy. What I'm saying is, I don't think just because you win your conference championship, that means you should definitely get one of those buys. You, like, you should just be guaranteed a spot in Miami. I like the conference championship part of it because I think it still makes the regular season more important. Like now, if you're Ohio, like Oregon, Ohio, say that Big Ten title game, if the buy was online is essentially meaningless, right? You're going to have one versus probably two. Well, the winner would be higher-ranked.

Sure, but you're still going to, most likely, both will probably get a buy. If we're talking about one versus two, well, also now, in that matchup, you're talking about, again, one versus two, but the winner gets a buy, one less playoff game. The loser probably gets the five, depending on what the SEC looks like, but you're talking about either a five or six extra playoff game. I think it makes conference championships important still, when otherwise they would not be. I'm not letting you off the hook, by the way, because there are still, I think there has been a change in attitude within the last year, going back to last year, with some Penn State fans. I think the Penn State fans in your age bracket, our age bracket, I think they're fed up with James Franklin, but there is still an older guard that is like, hey, they only lose one game a year. They're actually still this great program, rah rah, and that's why I called them Participation State University, because they're good, I'm not saying they're a bad program, but a lot of fans are just content with what they've done, where I think people our age, they believe that James Franklin should no longer be the coach. Let me ask you this, another big game that James Franklin is allergic to winning, where are you at with your head football coach? I know the buyout, he's going to be back next year because of the buyout, but are you now done and ever believing that James Franklin will win a big game at Penn State? Yes, yes I am, and I don't think it's an age thing, by the way, I was there on Saturday, there's plenty of adults, plenty of adults that are fed up, I think fans are booing, I think Penn State, the fan base overall is very frustrated. Now look, you're going 10-11-1, it's not like you're sitting there at USC or Florida State or some of those programs.

No, but who's your best one, West Virginia? Because I think there's real palpable frustration, and I don't think Franklin will get fired. What I am interested in, I think this is maybe the first time this is real in a long time, he could leave.

You know, like depending on what job he's rolling. Well, you know his agent throws him out there for every job. Yes, but there was like, with USC for example, he was never leaving.

It just feels, with the fan base's frustration, with him kind of feeling like he never gets a win, fair or not, it does feel like maybe a divorce is more likely than in years past. Can I recommend the school that James Franklin should go to? Sure. How about Temple? We take you to Temple. I would actually support James Franklin at Temple.

Oh man. That's why you've been hating him on this whole time, so you can get him to your school and build up the owls and get college game day back. You know why I can't stand James Franklin?

It's because there's always a lame-ass excuse that he makes when he loses. When he lost to Temple, he stopped the game to check the PSI level of the football. A few years ago against Ohio State, oh, we don't sit in the first row of classes.

That's why we can't be an elite program. And even when you think you can't get any lower than where James Franklin goes, this clown is walking off the field. He's the head coach of Penn State. He's walking off the field and he's getting into it with the fan, who if the fan is right, what the heck are you doing on the three-yard line, running the same play three times in a row and not using Warren? And he stops and he plays it off, oh, I was just trying to have a conversation. I wanted to know his name.

He was going to get that kid's name, if that kid's a student, and he was going to report him to the school and get him expelled from the school. And then this bozo, this bozo, this is the part that I haven't talked about all week. And I've been waiting for you to be in this chair and for you to face the music. And for you to face the music. Face the music. Yeah, you have to face the music and answer for this clown. There is no other meaning behind that bell outside of it being a victory bell, right? Correct.

Like that's not for like, you know, like, like, like cancer patients, like things like anything charity-wise. It's just, if you win, you ring the bell. Ring the bell as you walk off the field.

So this loser lost to Ohio State is fighting with the fan and he rings the victory bell? Why? I don't know. I have no... Why?

I think his honesty, his brain was broken at that point. Well, that's like, I, I, I have no other explanation. I've never seen that before.

It's never happened before. I do think the fan interaction is a little overblown, like whatever. You could be the bigger man is walk by, but they weren't exactly, there was whatever. They said two words moved on again.

I agree. Just keep on walking. You lost the game. I think he really thought he was going to win and did not anticipate losing. That's more than two words, but I think that's why his brain just was mush. Or he thinks that there's this great program and they just showed up and put it on the field and that's why their participation at State University, you know, just rang the bell for, for showing up.

All right. I got one more for you on this and then I'll stop at the Penn State stuff, even though I really do enjoy it, if I'm being honest. How the heck at this institution that has big game after big game, and I will say, even though the fans are zany, they packed the place and you know, it is a really great college football environment. I heard you say that you left your hotel at 8 a.m. or your Airbnb, whatever you're in, and you were three miles away from the stadium and you didn't get into the stadium until kickoff at noon and you didn't do any tailgating. That's how much traffic it was. They were.

Yes. It took us four hours to go three miles. How? Uh, because there's 111,000 people going to the stadium at the same time. That's how. It sucks. There's two roads in. That's it. Four hours to go three miles.

That makes no sense. We were going 10 feet, stopping for a minute, rolling 10 feet, stopping for a minute. Did you have walked? We did walk. My girlfriend and I walked.

Yeah. My parents drove. Oh, wait.

We got out of the car and we walked. Your girlfriend didn't go to Penn State. No. So you made poor Lolly go to Miserable Valley to watch that miserable football game and you made her walk to the stadium because you couldn't get traffic moving? That's right. What's wrong with you?

She isn't. If anything, it was nice to get out of the car. We were there for four hours. In the backseat, my legs were cramping up.

Get me the hell out of here. How is it possible? I just saw 111,000 cars going in the same place at the same time. The lanes are narrow. It's not a major highway.

Why didn't you just walk the whole way? Because we didn't anticipate it. Oh, okay.

There's no warning. Penn State does not play many big noon games. They have noon games, but usually they're sleeper opponents and whatever. So this was the first massive home game at noon where usually if it's a night game, people stroll in all different times, the traffic patterns. And here it's you wake up early.

They made a big emphasis. Get there early. Everyone got there early. The problem was one way, one road this way, one road that way. And that's it. What were your tailgate plans? Uh, one of my best friends, his family always throws a big tailgate every time they go. So we're going to go meet up with them.

Can I be real? 8 a.m. That's a little late, a little late. They got there about 7 30. Like when I went to Ohio State, Michigan last year, I forget.

I don't think that was a 3 30 kick. I think that was noon. They always play at noon.

Yeah. They always play at noon. Like we were up at 5 a.m. Slinging beers, eating leftover Zingerman sandwiches, and we walked right to that store, Uber'd right to that stadium. You know, 8 a.m. is a little, little early.

You pass your prime in the tailgating world? Oh, not at all. I think it was going to be a funny time. Schott's Key was flowing. Like they were getting after him. So were you drunk going into the stadium? I had a few beers or drinks in the car. Yeah.

Okay. So not drunk, but you didn't re-tailgate in the backseat as much as you could. You were usually the king of the instant reaction video. Why was there no instant reaction video after the game? Because there's zero service at Penn State. But you could still record it and put it out later. I want to say my battery. My battery. Because also we weren't going back to them. We were going downtown to just drink our sorrows away and I'm already like draining half my battery just to text my friend to meet him up because of the stupid traffic.

So yeah, that's essentially why. What was there to say? So the first college football playoff rankings came out last night.

They did. As accurately predicted by your boy. Oregon, Georgia, Miami, BYU boys, Boise State, Ohio State. How do you think that game will play out if it was played tomorrow? Ohio State.

Okay. They walk to the final four. I mean, lucky that they got a great seed if that holds Alabama at Texas. I like Texas in that game. I think Texas is offense in Alabama's vulnerabilities and defense. Give the Longhorns the edge. Okay. The Ryan Hickey Bowl, Notre Dame, your first love at Penn State, your second love.

I know what I said before. I'm not counting this as a big game. It is Penn State would win this game. Riley Franklin. He would.

Well, I say that watch. Then right. Linda throws her thrones yards and they win the game. He would win that game and then lose by 40 the Georgia the next week.

Okay. Indiana at Tennessee. I like I like the Hoosiers. I think I can win that game. I think they really can.

They don't get stopped by anybody. And Tennessee's offense is too up and down for me. I'm not ready to go there yet. I'm just I'm monitoring something. I'm contemplating something contemplating taking Indiana up against Ohio State contemplating.

I don't hate it. They're very well rounded. Their defense is very good.

Now again, the biggest not because they played nobody. So we'll see how good it is, but they score with anybody. They can run the ball really well. They are good defensively. They're tough.

They're physical. They're fast. It's a really fun game for the teams that were not in the top 12. Who is the team outside of the top 12 that you think has the best chance of making the playoff moving forward? I still think it's A&M. I know they just got their doors blown off by South Carolina. I think it's a good team. Maybe Texas at the end of the year.

I think they can. I think it's a really fun atmosphere. That's a great atmosphere.

Holy cow. I thought you would have said SMU because you were down on Miami. I mean, I'm down in Miami. I think it's interesting game and I'm intrigued by LSU and Ole Miss too.

You know, both have to get through this weekend, but if you do get through this weekend, you got two more wins. This is not deflecting from James Franklin. You're picking Lane Kiffin to win a big game.

He's a James Franklin of the SEC. I'm not saying I expect it. I'm just saying it's a possibility. It's out there.

Technically, yes. I am not sitting here saying Ole Miss wins on Saturday. Even though there's no reason to believe in my football team throughout the years. Ohio State, you're a bunch of schmucks.

Your offensive line sucks. We are. We are going to win. We're going to be unbelievable. We are going to be great. We're the greatest team ever. No, I'm not doing what you do every year and I can guarantee this. Next year when there's a big game, I could do your takes.

I can. Next year when there's a big game for Penn State, you'll find the way to prop yourself back up into believing. This one was one that cut deep. This one really hurt. You're an addict. When it comes to Penn State, you're an addict. You can't help yourself.

This one felt like the year and this one more than ever really, I think sends the message home. Okay. And then I will dismiss you and we'll take a break.

And the principal's office. Had they didn't use Warren, enough was criminal. Agreed. Where are you at with the quarterback who has never popped off to the level that I and you both thought he could? And then also where are you at with your offensive coordinator? Because this was supposed to be the new shiny guy that was supposed to change this team and make them unbelievable. And they had six points, six points at home. I thought Haller maybe not great. I thought he was really good on Saturday. He played well. It's not his fault the receivers can't catch the ball. I mean, he threw a touchdown pass that was right in the receiver's hands. He gave way to the DB. Heck of an interception. Another second down and long play, converted receiver inexplicably drops it. Like I thought he ran the ball well.

I thought he played great, honestly. Great stretch. Receivers stink. Can't get, oh, by the way, can't get open either given him no, you know, no target.

You know what? That's Franklin's biggest problem. It has been.

They, they have not been like, I know they've had receivers go to league and have success, but when you've had the quarterback, they've never been able to get good receivers there. Can't get any separation. Where the heck is Fleming? 29. He stinks.

Zero. I didn't even realize he had one catch. See, if I'm the offensive coordinator, if Penn State had me as the offensive coordinator for the whole game, they would lose. If they had me for the offensive coordinator down at the goal line, you guys would have, would have won that game. Like how do you not just do a direct snap to, you have Warren snap the ball and take the, how do you not just do four direct snaps with Warren? If you're going to run the same play three times that you're running back. So we're overrated. Let's be real. Um, and not just have Warren just bulldoze through people.

I don't have an answer. He's a great play. He's a top 15 pick in the draft. He's a great, he's one of the best all around players in college football. And again, another theme for Penn State, these big games, their best players don't just don't touch the ball enough.

Three rushes, three catches. That's it. It's like you guys are trying to lose. I mean, they play, they play not to lose. That's a question.

They play these games not to lose and they lose every time. You know, I actually hope you guys win a playoff game this year because then it will get people thinking that you guys are actually like, here we go. You know? Great.

That's what I hope. All right. Last thing. Last thing. I promise. Yeah. Uh, oh boy.

You've really put him in the spot here. Um, I was, what did we say last week? I said I still will put, who's number one? Travis Hunter, Ashton, Gente, Dylan, Gabriel Cam, Ward. Those are the four choices I think right now. I mean, Ken Ward's playing great. He'd have to be number one honestly, right now.

Ash and Gente slow down a little bit. I'd still put them at two. Travis Hunter, three Dylan, Gabriel four. Okay.

And is there a fifth? You wanna, uh, Chador Sanders? Oh. If I had to put a fifth, I think it'd be Chador.

He's playing well, they're ranked. I got to get I don't know. Okay, I apologize. You got it You're like James Franklin in the big moment crumble. That's exactly right. It is this hat guilt show on the infinity sports network So there was an article out there that the Colts received major trade interest in Anthony Richardson, but they didn't even contemplate Making a deal. This is Steven Holder who covers the Colts for the ESPN And he had this to say which with the NFL trade deadline looming This was going back to the other day. Here's an interesting development There have been multiple inquiries in recent days about the availability of Colts QB Anthony Richardson who was bench last week All suitors have gotten the same answer.

He's off limits. So Here's what I don't get now with the Colts so you just lost these next four game or three games now if You incorporate the loss from last week. You got to be two and two after this four game stretchers.

You already started off with a loss Because you're telling me you're going to Joe Flacco Because he's the better quarterback to win now against the teams that you're playing. That's number one Then number two, I also think they sat Anthony Richardson down because of the fact that he quit on the team Right. He took himself out of the game Now, I don't think this is fair stew But I don't think it's a good look But if there wasn't social media, I don't believe any of us would ever see it Did you see those videos on Sunday night of him with his face mask on and his helmet on? And he's yawning during the game.

I did. Yes when you are the week prior bench because of the fact That you were running around in the field you got tired and you tapped out and you took yourself out of the game. I Know he's probably bored Right, and if I was on the sideline, I used to be the starter. I'd probably be yawning too Heck there's been sources that tell me that there was a once a producer here That may have been yawning during somebody's show and said host was not happy with that a producer yawning There may also be an update anchor here that often yawns from time to time as well that a host may not be happy about but with that being said when you get benched for basically Quitting because you're tired. I don't know stew It's not a good look even though we probably shouldn't see it but because of social media We do see it when the quarterback has a helmet on and it's kind of like a sick game Because they're always going to show the camera on him and then you zoom in and you're like, oh, is that a richardson yawn? Not a good look That's what i'll say. Not a good look if he's that tired. He should probably like mask it in some way I would say now it was a night game So, you know my favorite game is night game I would say now it was a night game. So, you know, maybe in his coffee earlier in the day And it's past his bedtime And that's another reason anthony rich said not a big game quarterback at night Primetime moments he could be like what kirk cousins used to be in the prime time With uh him being that tired being on the bench.

What are you doing? And I get it could be tedious and boring but like geez Yeah, you got to look a little bit more lively there on the sideline, but here's where the colts lose me So like I get it They want to go to the playoffs this year. They think they have a chance to go to the playoffs, but this team has no chance To get to a super bowl They're not going to win a playoff game and in all likelihood You know, I don't think there'll be a playoff team like there's a chance Like look at the way that flaco played with the browns last year and how fun of a story that was They didn't even win a playoff game with with the browns last year so It's like If you're telling teams that you're not going to trade richardson You're at least giving off the impression that he's still your franchise quarterback So for a guy who hasn't played a lot Why would you Then sit him down and if it was to say hey, you got to be more of a professional you can't quit on the team All right, you set him down you embarrass him you undress him basically for a week But the cults the other day said they have no intention of starting him the rest of the year. They've now said that twice Since this benching the day they benched him and they said it at one point after the game So I do think Because you look at a situation Where you got bryce young and you got anthony richardson It's like bryce young is now getting his opportunity How bizarre is the price like andy dalton gets in the car accident? He's back on the field And then it's like oh now we're just going to go back to bryce young and bryce young's going to play this week as well Is bryce young and anthony richardson Are they both going to be back with the panthers and the colts next year I still think anthony richardson is going to be starting for the indianapolis colts But bryce young for the carolina panthers If they don't fall like if they draft a quarterback they got to trade richardson Quarterback, they got to trade bryce young, but if they don't take a quarterback he could be back I would say gun to my head right now richardson starting next year for the colts.

Bryce young's on a different team stew What say you? I think richardson's definitely on the colts. I think bryce young is the one that's interesting I think kind of like you said if they draft a quarterback he's gone But if they don't draft a quarterback right now, they're kind of you know, they won another game So there might not be in the prime position that they used to be I think he's back So the question now becomes Who are the teams that called? You know you look at the jets could they have maybe called with rogers maybe being done at the end of the year Do you want some insurance if you're the dolphins? Um with tua and that that history, you know the raiders You guys don't got a quarterback Um the browns knowing that you need to replace the sean watson Sean watson, it's like you look around tennessee Now I won't trade them in division No, you can get bryce young. You couldn't get anthony richardson I think the giants are going to draft a quarterback. I don't think they would trade for one But if it's not a lot of capital then that's a possibility Um nfc west I think everyone's good in that spot Nfc north everyone's good in that spot and in the south, you know, the the panthers won't trade them in division But like a team like the saints, maybe they take a flyer on uh on a player like an anthony richardson But I still think richardson is going to be starting there next year. I think bryce young will be somewhere else But I really do believe for the panthers. It would behoove them Because like I do think shadore and cam ward are the two best quarterbacks or either them generational.

I don't know about that If you get a with how much work that needs to be done in that organization If you get a whole back of if like you're picking second or third and someone wants a quarterback I would seriously contemplate that because there's a lot of work to do there. All righty. Well come on back in the news brief Here's zack All right, it is the zack gilb show on the infinity sports network Let me go through my uh binder here. I'm like, uh, Mike mccarthy on the sideline right now.

I actually show up but With the big binder and going through all the pages to find the right read. All right It's time to answer ask the pros question of the day. It's brought to you by o'reilly audience By o'reilly auto parts bill in new hampshire says zack when you're looking at the college football playoff rankings Who's the team in the final rankings? That you think will be the number one overall seed most likely to be so You can submit a question by tweeting at inf sports at our attack.

I'll be using the hashtag Ask the pros figure out the auto parts for all your car care needs get guaranteed Low prices and excellent customer service from the professional parts people at o'reilly auto parts. I think it's pretty obvious at this stage It's the team that was number one last night and it's oregon now here's the the the difficult part Can oregon Not win their conference championship If they're undefeated right Still be the number one seed number one in terms of the ranking and then be the fifth seed Like if oregon for example Oh, they probably play ohio state and so it probably wouldn't in the in the big 10 championship game And then if ohio state gets their revenge, it's like one of those things where okay Then ohio state would obviously be one and one there So probably not there but I would still say oregon's the most likely because they're undefeated right now And you got maryland wisconsin washington. That should be win-win-win And then you just got to see who you're playing in the big 10 championship game and it's either going to be indiana Or ohio state indiana plays ohio state so we're probably going to end up seeing oregon, ohio state in the In the big 10 championship game and can ohio state beat oregon in the big 10 championship game, of course But I I would rock and roll with oregon right now, you know, I think it was the best thing to happen oregon Is that they didn't lose the game early, but they didn't play well early and everyone kind of counted them out Now there's no questions that they could go out there and win a championship But you look at it this year oregon, ohio state and georgia the three teams I feel most confident in to be able to get the job done and go win a national championship Alrighty, let's update you some of the biggest stories in the world of sports with some audio we get to a news brief and we do that right now Time for your daily news brief we get you caught up on the rumors reports and reconnaissance from the day in sports eagles cowboys sunday cbs 4 25 p.m. Eastern time bic fangio the now defensive coordinator of the eagles Talked about the dallas cowboys offense with cooper rush all likelihood starting over dak Prescott with dak dealing with the hammy injury To anticipate the cowboys offense changing with dak prescott out and cooper rush potential. I don't think it will change It with dak prescott out and cooper rush potential. I don't think it will change a whole lot, you know Rush is a has been there a long time. He knows the offense as well as anybody there does and He'll operate it efficiently I don't think there's really much there.

I know people spin it. They're like, oh nothing's gonna change That's him taking a shot at dak prescott. Like imagine if he just said yeah cooper rush He's gonna be a lot different than dak cooper rush is not gonna be as good as dak prescott Then it would be spun as oh, that's motivation for cooper rush, you know, could he have maybe said hey Obviously they lost a really good player in dak prescott and cooper presents his own set of challenges as well Sure, but there's not really much there for me Jim bob cooter Guy is one of the great names of all time on what anthony richardson has to work on Uh, he's he's he's working on improving a ton of different sort of areas That's the the nature of being a young quarterback in this league is uh, you know When you when you play ball you find out different things to work on you find out different areas of your game Uh, you know, we're we're working on all sorts of stuff.

I don't want to you know pinpoint one or two Uh sort of you know, put anything out there we're just working on getting better all of us, you know, and anthony's right there with us and uh, We're working behind the scenes on that right now stew this may be a dumb question What do you think they're actually working on? It's like you bench the guy because he quit on the team This guy needs reps. You could give him reps in practice, but you're not going to take away Enough reps that are needed to actually make an impact because of the fact that you're playing joe flacko So what are you like? Are you just making anthony richardson do a bunch of extra? Conditioning so he's not tired It's like are you making sure that he has expresso on the sideline as they give coffee? So he's not yawning during the games This is just it's such a bizarre situation In indianapolis because I do believe he's going to be the starter next year But you know, they don't believe in him anymore Weird weird weird tomorrow thursday night football kicks off already week 10 I I can't believe it's already week 10. Okay, okay, okay Uh, the cincinnati bangles will be going to baltimore to go up against the baltimore ravens Jamar chase had a little funny answer short week jamar the preparation. Obviously, it's crunched down by a lot Does it feel to you like cramming for a test back in school?

Like what's what's a short week? I didn't study in school But um But um, it's a lot man That's like cardell jones from back in the day. That's awesome From back in the day.

That's awesome And you know what? I give jamar chase credit for it And I was not to compare myself to jamar chase Did you do a lot of uh studying by the way stew in school? Just wondering were you a big studier? Yeah, probably not as much in college, but definitely in high school in grade school. I think I went to a breakout room once I did very little studying because I knew what I wanted to do So to me my tests were doing like extracurricular activities, which were Being a part of the student tv station being a part of the student radio station I I don't even remember really studying for tests Like the history of radio that I took I may have partied a little bit too hard before that a 8 a.m Final and let's just say I may have walked into that uh final still feeling a little bit from the uh Night before and still not being a sober state of mind and I thought it was going to be multiple choice And it ended up being a fill in the blank with no word bank So I flunked the history of radio the final but I still passed the class But I I can't remember studying that much in college. I can't I think the most I studied when they made us go to study hours when I was in a fraternity Like they made us go to the library for two hours, but I did not I just like wrote the paper You know took the exam. I didn't really study much because I knew c's just got degrees Just got degrees for your boys that girl. Yeah, I feel like because I also was like a communications major I feel like a lot of it was just papers and Like doing projects more than like taking a test. I don't know There was math is the one I had to study for the most.

Yeah, because you had to pass one math class Dr. Raymond coughlin i'll never forget him and it was just it was tough tough to pass that class, but I gotta see So that's all I needed. Let's go to dj more Explaining walking off the field during a play this past sunday sweet ankle Uh, I was coming back to because I seen caleb scrambling ankle went in and out. I was already couldn't stop So my momentum took me out of bounds and then I just walked off Which the noise I hear it seeing it, but he didn't care.

So It is what it is. You understand why people saw that as a bad look I mean they could take it how they want to they wish they did and without even knowing what happened mid-play so Can't stop y'all from doing what y'all want to do I actually have no problem with what he did If he legitimately tweaked his ankle on that play, what are you going to do? Just lie down in the middle of the field? like he hobbled off and He wasn't going to allow himself to just get like killed on the play when he can't move I think that's a big difference of what anthony richardson did and then what dj moore did, you know, if you're injured you're injured All right. Let's go to andrew berry plans for dashaun watson once he returns. This was a big year for dashaun And what are your plans for him as far as next season? Yeah, tom really our focus with dashaun I would say for any player with a season ending injury and a major injury is is first and foremost with the recovery Um and to make sure that he gets healthy from the achilles injury, you know, everything else we'll deal with at a later moment Not a ringing endorsement right there. I I kind of hope they move on from him this off season Let's go to coach prime good story about chador sanders. We had a guy not gonna call his name jump into the portal that Didn't have furniture in his home chador bought him furniture loaded him up He then jumped in the transfer reporter and didn't even say thank you didn't even say bye But he don't trip because he's blessed enough to do it But that's that's who this young man is and he's always been that's why I call him grown He's always been mature for his age and for the stage of life that he's in right now And he's a phenomenal human being i'm proud of him.

I'm proud of him as a young man I would love to know who the player was Where did he transfer to and why did he transfer? But that's kind of like a jerkish move You know chador gets you furniture being a good teammate obviously like I don't think you just get any teammate furniture like you have to have either a good bond with with the teammate or Or you know you you believe in the teammate, right? And you get him furniture because you have the funds right you make enough money And you come from money so You get this teammate furniture And you would think when you would leave you would at least have the common decency to say hey chador It's not working out here. I'm leaving because of x y and z but I really appreciate what you did for me so I think that's a good story for chador sanders. I don't know why it was brought up by coach prime I find it funny while he was actually brought up But that like stu imagine if I got you like furniture You know, let's say you had an office here still and I got a bunch of furniture for your office And then you go, you know what i'm leaving the show You don't tell anyone and you don't say hey, by the way zach, even though it didn't work out here I really appreciate what you did Just low class. Thanks for the furniture.

Yeah I wouldn't yeah now i'm assuming he didn't return the furniture and i'm sure he didn't leave it in his dorm or apartment On uh at boulder's campus. All righty That will do it for the news brief and that will do it for the zach gilb show on this wednesday We'll be back tomorrow do a little paper shredder thursday.
