2, 1, 2, 42, 27. You could always get at me on the good old cesspool of Twitter X, whatever you want to call it, or an Instagram where I'm always straight flexing at Zach Gelb. That is Z-A-C-H-G-E-L-B. So I was at MetLife Stadium last night. Weird night. Halloween night, you're walking into the stadium, and I am sweating like a pig, if I'm going to be honest. So I wore the Scooby-Doo costume yesterday on the air, and that was a onesie, right?

And a hot onesie too. You know, not just because I was in it, it was just temperature-wise hot as well. And I take the train from Penn Station, you do a transfer, and then you get off at Sea Caucus, and at Sea Caucus you go to MetLife Stadium. So I do the transfer, and I said, okay, it's a night game, even though I'm in the press box, and I was going to the Westwood One booth where they keep the windows open, and I didn't know what the temperature was going to be, but I was like, I'll wear jeans and a sweatshirt. It was nearly 80 degrees yesterday here in New York. So I'm walking into the stadium in New York, right?

Well, technically New Jersey. And it is almost an 80 degree night. So you knew it was going to be a strange night when it's just that hot in the New York, New Jersey area going into a football game. And this game was so funky, I said to myself, I am not going to bet on the game, because if I didn't know what the spread was going to be initially, I would just say whatever the numbers of the Texans lay, like you figured it'd be like a few points of Texans would be a favorite. But then that line was screaming at you, because it was the Jets were a slight favorite, and the Jets had no business on paper being a favorite, but Vegas always finds a way to get it right.

So I'm in the stadium, I get into my seat in the press box before going over the Westwood One booth to see Iron Eagle, Mike Mayock, who just did a wonderful job in the game last night. And the first few drives of the game happen. And I'm like, this game is so freaking boring. I go, when I put in or had my bosses put in for the credential request back in August, I thought this could be a big time game, right? The Jets were supposed to be a big time team in the AFC, the Texans also were supposed to be a big time team in the AFC.

So I said, I need a little action in this game, need a little skin in the game. And I saw that the Texans, obviously since they were the dog, were like with an odds boost, plus 144, 145 in the money line. So I'm like, I'll throw like 25 bucks on the Texans. And at halftime, let me tell you, that game, I didn't even care who was going to win, I was like, let's just run the clock in the second half and get on out of here. Because the Texans were tough to watch, and the New York Jets were even tougher to watch. You had Jets fans last night chanting, sell the team.

Understood, got it. But that is how ugly and how morbid of a picture it was that was being painted on the field at MetLife Stadium. And then in the second half, you finally saw this Jets offense look like the Jets offense the way that they envisioned it. And Garrett Wilson's a stud. That catch was ridiculous.

I personally, I'm not gonna lie, when I first saw it, and it was not that far away from my scene in the press box, like I had a good vantage point. I go, he was out of bounds, didn't catch it. And then when they showed the first replay, I'm like, I don't think he caught it.

But I guess the shin was down, and I don't think it was obvious. But even Jeff Olbrich, when I was talking to him, the Jets interim coach after the game, he said it, he's like, you know, just for the sake of this moment, they better reverse it. Because it was truly 50-50. You could look at that replay ten times, five times you think he's in, five times you think he's out.

And usually, if it's not conclusive and clear and obvious, they can't overturn it, but they did overturn it. But that moment last night, you know when we talked about the Eagles last week? How in the second half up against the Bengals, that Devontae Smith catch could be the turning point of the season? I'm not saying the Jets are about to go on a run. But if the Jets go on a run, that Garrett Wilson catch is gonna be the turning point of the season. And Rodgers was honest after the game last night. You know, he said, yes, even if we lost this game, mathematically we aren't eliminated.

But at two and seven, who the heck's gonna think the Jets are gonna be capable of making a run? And Devontae Adams came up late, big. Hassan Riddick came up big late. Garrett Wilson was awesome. And Aaron Rodgers looked like vintage Aaron Rodgers. He did look like vintage Aaron Rodgers last night in the second half, and he even admitted after the game, his first half was just absolutely horrendous.

His first half was as bad as bad could be. You know, missing throws, you know, getting sacked, you know, not looking mobile whatsoever. So that's a good moment for the Jets last night. In a season that has been associated with just basically being a complete and utter bleep show and a clown show, the Jet fan gets to taste a little bit of a victory last night. But the question is, where do the Jets go from here? And where is your confidence with the New York Jets moving forward? Because the AFC isn't what we thought it was.

Like, I'll get into more of this later. I'm out on the Texans reaching the Super Bowl. I'm not a believer that the Steelers can reach the Super Bowl. I only think there's three teams in the AFC that can get to the Super Bowl. Kansas City, Baltimore and Buffalo. But we will push that aside and we'll continue the Jet conversation. So there's only three teams that I could really envision getting to a Super Bowl in terms of being one of the seven playoff teams.

It's pretty open. Like right now, the seventh playoff team in the AFC is the Los Angeles Chargers. And you go from like seven to the bottom, Chargers are four and three, Colts are four and four, Bengals are three and five, and the Jets after last night are three and six. The Jets right now are the tenth seed in the AFC.

Only seven do get in. So the Jets being, you know, one win behind that they already played, the Chargers. And they're only two wins behind, even with the weak at hand, going up against like the Ravens and the Broncos. It is not impossible to say that maybe the Jets go on a run and the Jets end up getting hot. But with that being said, you will not hear me today. Get in front of this microphone and go, folks, the Jets are back.

And quite frankly, if you are someone today after one win, after losing five in a row. If you're saying the Jets are back, I want what you're smoking. All right. The Jets do not deserve the benefit of the doubt. The Jets do not deserve your trust.

And I get it. This team has talent. Rogers, Adams, Wilson, Hall, Reddick, Williams squared, Gardner. There's talent on this team. But we're talking about a team that before last night lost five in a row and they have dug themselves into a deep hole. Now, two and seven, we're right in your obituary. Two and seven were like, we are gathered here today as we look at the New York Jets and their season is just a complete and utter disgrace and disaster.

Don't even play the final eight games. Now, the Jets are still in the sports version of hospice, but there was finally a positive report since the Jets entered the sports version of hospice. Now, the outlook of the Jets isn't, oh, we expect a full recovery. Like you may be cooked in another week or two. We may be doing a funeral another week or two. But this is the first time in the last five dreadful weeks where if you're a Jets fan, if you squint hard enough, you could maybe see something positive happening. But this is what needs to happen. The Jets right now are three and six.

Three and six. After playing one good half up against the Texans, I'm not sitting here and telling you I expect the Jets to be in the playoffs. I do not think the Jets will make the postseason, but if the Jets want me to believe if the Jets want Zach Gelb to bring that paper shredder in here one day and say, oh, we got to reverse shred the Jets who we already threw in the paper shredder and have all maybe like Santer and Stew will glue together the paper that we already shredded on the Jets logo saying they won't make the playoffs. If they want me to think that's at least a possibility, they got to get to 500. So they got to win four straight if you factor in last night.

That's the easiest road to do so. So what are the Jets next three games at the Cardinals, the Colts and the Seahawks? Not impossible. Now, those three teams are all kind of similar. Like the Cardinals are fine. The Colts are fine. The Seahawks are fine. They're competent football teams.

But for anyone thinking that it's just going to be easy. And this is why I love the jet fan and how delirious and delusional they could be after trashing this team chanting, sell the team at halftime. Now the jet fan today is pontificating about a tremendous turnaround, a potential playoff push. My question to the jet fan is this.

Why are you doing this to yourself? Why are you giving this team the benefit of the doubt after one win, even though it was a good one, even though it was an impressive one? You can't be optimistic.

You can't be confident. You need to see this team replicate the second half for an entirety of a game or at least three out of four quarters of a game that leads to a victory. And it is not a given that they're going to go win these next three games against the Cardinals, the Colts and the Seahawks.

But if I'm trying to be nice, if I'm trying to lend a helping hand. The New York Jets, if they want a road to at least envision a potential playoff push, step one is to get to 500. But really, step two is you now need to win four out of your next five games, because if you do that, entering the final three weeks of the season, you will be seven and seven. And if you win two out of three to end the season at being seven and seven, not a lock that you go and make the postseason at nine and eight. But there's a chance.

And that's all the Jeff that needs to hear right now. So you're telling me there's a chance. So their next five games, Cardinals, Colts, Seahawks, Dolphins, Jaguars, the Jets need to win four out of those next five games. And for people that may not be that intelligent that are listening to me, because sometimes you misconstrue my words, I'm not saying that's going to happen. I do not believe the Jets are making the playoffs, but I'm trying to find a way that the Jets, instead of just saying we do, can find a way to at least make it look presentable to make the postseason. You got to be nine and eight, nine and eight, not a lock you get in, but nine and eight. There is a chance.

And there's a lot of work still to do. So Cardinals, Colts, Seahawks, Dolphins, Jaguars, you got to go win four of those next five to set yourself up to win two out of three. And the final three weeks of the season, which it's tough, the final three Rams, Bills and then the Miami Dolphins.

All righty. I told you last night that I was going to the game. And we talked about this on the air yesterday where I said, I wonder what the sentiment around Rogers is going to be after the game, because Rogers either going to be three and six or two and seven after this game.

Neither. Here's the obvious statement of the day are good records for a quarterback like Aaron Rodgers. And in the first half, it looked like the Jets were not only going to lose, but it looked like Aaron Rodgers should retire because the line stunk. He was getting beat up. His timing was off with his wide receivers and there was no synergy. But then Rogers was like 15 of 18 in the second half. He was surgical.

He's brilliant. He stepped up with the season on life support and we thought the Jets were on their final breath. So after the game, I had a decision to make because at halftime it was obvious. Like if you're a member of the media with the pulse, which I am, and you're going to these postgame press conferences and had the access like I do, you simply just say, hey, Aaron, you turn 41 in about a month.

Your team right now, it looked like they were going to be two and seven. You know, you're a deep thinker, Aaron. Ayahuasca Aaron, are you at least thinking that these final eight games, these final two months is the end of your season, you know, end of your career? So that was something I thought about at halftime because I thought about it going in where I said yesterday, if I was Aaron at the end of this year, I would retire because I don't think Jets win a Super Bowl with him. But I don't think he will. If I was him, I would.

I don't think he will. So after the game, I'm sitting there listening to this postgame press conference and I'm like, should I ask this? And I'm like, you know what? He's still three and six. It's still not a lot that they're going to go on some run. You know, he's still going to be 41 with wins or losses coming up in about a month. And there's two months left in the season. I still think it's a fair question to ask.

So my questions along his answer, which is perfectly fine. Not that long. Let's listen up to Aaron Raj. I'll tell you what you learn from this. Aaron, quickly, there's only eight games left in the regular season with you turning 41 in about a month. Has it all just naturally crossed your mind that maybe these are the final two months of the regular season of your career for you?

No, it hasn't. And that was it. Now, here's what you don't see when you just listen to the audio. He gave a smirk and like a laugh when I asked it and he thought about it like, how about I could tell he's thinking about it. How am I going to respond to this?

Like, do I go after this guy asking me the question or do I just give a respectful? No, because if he is thinking about it, which I'm sure he has thought about retirement for, actually, he said it. Remember, I was going into the cave and I was convinced I was probably done with football.

And then I came out of the cave and after, you know, fighting with the darkness or seeing the darkness, I was like, I got to go to the Jets. You know, so he's thought about this before. But to Aaron's credit, by not saying yes, it's not a distraction.

Because I think that answer could have been, if he was honest, a distraction. Now, I'm not saying he was dishonest, because I do believe that Aaron's mentality is that he's going to play next year. So after asking that question last night, seeing how he kind of laughed and then just simply said no and quickly said no, I do believe, regardless of how this season ends, barring, you know, just assuming he doesn't get hurt, because if he gets another big injury again, do you want to go through the recovery and all that, that's different. But like, let's say the Jets end up, I don't know, finishing the season 7 and 10, and they don't make the playoffs.

You know, if it ends in a negative way, I still think Aaron is going to come back and finish out that last year of the contract with the New York Jets, especially with his buddy, Devante Adams now in town, and then finding a little bit of that chemistry again last night, as you saw Devante Adams late in the game had that touchdown catch. So the Jets, I'm not telling you that I believe you're going to the playoffs. But if you want me to take you seriously, if you want me to start to believe that maybe they could go on this magical run in the second half of the season, the final eight games, you got to find a way to get to.500.

You're 3 and 6. You go in 3 in a row, you get to 6 and 6, then I'll start to say, okay, we really need to monitor the Jets' playoff chances as a possibility. It is the Zach Gelb Show on the Infinity Sports Network.

Do you think the Jets could still make the playoffs? 8-5-5, 2-1-2, 42-27, 8-5-5, 2-1-2, 42-27. We'll take a break when we come on back. Five, and I mean five, storylines to this upcoming weekend in college football.

All right, it is the Zach Gelb Show on the Infinity Sports Network. Here are five storylines that I'm going to be looking for this weekend in college football. Drew Aller is going to play for Penn State, and you got Will Howard for Ohio State. So Will Howard at Ohio State this year, you know, there was so much hype. You know, they did improve their quarterback room slightly, getting rid of Kyle McCord and going to Will Howard. But it's not as if they brought in, you know, an unbelievable player and a program-changing player. That's why I was advocating when the portal opened up for Ohio State to go make a run and go get Cam Ward.

Like, could you imagine with this talent that Ohio State has at the wide receiver position in their backfield, if they also had Cam Ward as their quarterback? So Will Howard is good, but in his biggest test of the season up against Oregon, his awareness was absolutely pathetic. And it was putrid, his and Ryan Day. And for Drew Aller, he has been all sizzle so far, all hype. And you really haven't had enough tangible moments to say Drew Aller is the player that we thought he could be. Now, I'll give Drew Aller credit up against USC because that first half was miserable. And then in the second half with the game on the line, big fourth down throw, fourth and ten bang, fourth and seven bang for Drew Aller. So give him credit for that. But this is a game to me where you look at the coaches and you look at the quarterbacks.

And I know that sometimes seems a little simplistic. And there is a big question on who's going to choke, who's going to fail between Ryan Day and James Franklin. We will get to more of that later. But which quarterback do you trust more? Is it Drew Aller or is it Will Howard?

And I think the upside with Drew Aller is higher. I think Ohio State is going to win the game and I'll get into more of that why later. But I think the quarterback I trust more heading into this one, even with the injury, but he's going to play and I think he'll be fine.

I'm going to trust Drew Aller more over Will Howard. But the quarterbacks are going to be the coaches are going to be the biggest storyline. The next biggest storyline, the second biggest storyline is going to be the quarterbacks, because those coaches and the quarterbacks are similar. The coaches, we know they can't win a big game to save their life. Ryan Day lost the last three years to Michigan. Ryan Day didn't win the last three Big Ten championships. James Franklin wins a lot of games, but he doesn't win the game. So the quarterbacks are going to be the secondary story. But really, the coaches are the first and the primary story. But I'm fascinated because there's going to be big plays late in the game, going to be third down plays, fourth down plays. I think this would be a tight game.

And ultimately, which quarterback is going to be the better quarterback? Thought number two, Manny Diaz, which we all know, I am not a fan of Manny Diaz. I have forgiven Manny Diaz a little bit, though, because, you know, he's done a good job with Duke.

But Manny Diaz was at a mitigated disaster at Miami. Miami, now Mario Cristobal, is 8-0. Duke has not got a lot of national play. They lost last week by one point to SMU, but they've had a solid season this year. They started the year off 5-0, and they've lost two out of their last three to Georgia Tech and SMU.

They beat Florida State sandwich in between. Now, there's no reason for me to pick Miami to lose to Duke, right? There's no reason, really, that you feel solid and good about, and the spread is also 21 points in favor of Miami. It is a Miami home game. Like, even though Duke is 6-2, why should I anticipate that they're going to be a top-five ranked Miami team who's 8-0 with the player who could win the Heisman Trophy? And even though Manny Diaz, like, calling this a revenge game seems ridiculous because Manny Diaz, it was his own fault why he stunk at Miami.

You could sometimes motivate a team that way. And Miami at times has played some sloppy football this year, even though they're 8-0. You had to have that massive comeback against Cal. Quite frankly, they should have lost up against Virginia Tech. The Louisville game, it was a back-and-forth track meet between Louisville and Miami. So I'm just asking, I'm not saying it's going to happen. I'm just asking, can Duke this week use the Manny Diaz revenge card and make it out to be like he was some victim at Miami, even though he was the culprit, right?

He was the problem. Can they use that emotion to not only make this game closer than what it maybe should be and what people think it will be with Miami being a 21-point favorite, but can Manny Diaz slither his way through and actually find a way to pull off the upset? Alrighty, next talking point this weekend in college football. You have Georgia and you have Florida. Now, when we all looked at Florida, this was like one of those games where you're like, okay, this is probably going to be it for Billy Napier at Florida. You know, they have a stretch where they play Georgia this weekend and the following week, Texas, and then after that, they have LSU and Ole Miss. When we saw Billy Napier start off the year getting blown out by Miami and then shortly after that losing to Texas A&M when they were playing their backup quarterback at the time and Marcel Reed, and both of those games were home, the conversation around Billy Napier was, it's not a matter of if he's going to get fired, it just went. And we kind of penciled, Georgia or Texas have to get him blown out in one of those games.

But quietly, Billy Napier, I'm not going to say he's done a good job, but he has not lost as many games as we anticipated. They beat Mississippi State. They beat UCF.

He should have elected to go for it for two points. And they ended up having that come back to cost them when they lost to Tennessee. And then they just beat Kentucky going away 48 to 20. So now you have Georgia and a big reason why maybe Florida could elect to keep Billy Napier at the end of the season.

Long term, I don't think he's going to work out is because you want to keep the quarterback in D.J. But when I look at Georgia this year, even though I do believe Oregon and Georgia are the two best teams in the country, Georgia has not been as unbeatable as they've been in years past. They barely beat Kentucky by one point.

I'll stand by. Stoop shouldn't have punted the ball in that spot. He should have gone for it. And if you're like, oh, that's easy for you to say, well, I told Mark Stoop and he's on the show. I didn't like the decision.

And we had a little back and forth there. Then Georgia loses to Alabama. And then Georgia, they bounce back a few weeks later and they beat Texas. I just don't know what Georgia team is going to show up like talent wise. Georgia should easily win this game. But can this be a moment where Napier has a good showing and people are like, hmm, even though they lost in their four and four. You know, maybe just maybe we run it back once again.

Alrighty. I've been very impressed with A&M this year. A&M after losing to Notre Dame to kick off the season. I did not think we'd be talking about A&M the way that we have, but they have won seven in a row.

And by the way, you want to know something funny? I get a tweet from an A&M fan two weeks ago. It was it was actually last week. And this A&M fan is going back to some tweet I had initially when I did not like the process. And I still didn't like the process how A&M allowed their fans to dictate the hire. They wanted to go hire, obviously, Mark Stoops.

And then the fans were up in arms. You can't hire Stoops, even though he had two 10 win seasons at Kentucky, for crying out loud. Now, I was never anti Mike Elko. Heck, I have receipts. And I said this before, where I wanted Mike Elko to be a head coach in 2018.

He didn't get a head coaching job until this past offseason. So I had an A&M fan who decided to go back to, I guess, one of my tweets when the whole situation went down, when the fan base acted like a bunch of dopes and he was like, are you ready to admit that this was a freezing cold take? So I just saw that. I'm like, ah, whatever.

It's not a big deal. And then this guy continued to tweet me. And I have mentioned on this show that I just got a new mattress that I just got a new bed frame.

So the guy then was being nice after trolling me or trying to troll me. And he goes, by the way, how's your new bed? And I go, huh, it's pretty funny.

You know, bed's pretty good. And then he goes, your sister wanted me to ask you that. And I'm like, who the heck is this guy? So my sister, I vaguely remember her once telling me that her boss listens to my show.

And he is a, my sister just said he's from Texas. So I texted my sister last night and I go, is your boss name Mike? She goes, yeah, how'd you know? I go, I think this sum of a bitch is going after me on Twitter. You know, and I say that politely. Don't fire my sister after me calling you a sum of a bitch. But this guy, my sister's boss, dragging up all takes of mind about Texas A&M and then trying to rub elbows and be buddy buddy.

So how about that? But I will say I love what his Aggies are doing. And the question about the Aggies this week is after last week, that great win when they look dead 17 to 7 and they went to Marcel Reed and they had the great comeback and they won going way up against LSU. Will there be a letdown this week as they have to go to South Carolina? And not that South Carolina is any good.

They're four and three. They've had some tough games though this year. They dominated Kentucky 31 to 6. They then lost to LSU in a game that they should have won. They then got blown out by Ole Miss.

I get it. Then they just lost to Alabama by two and they just smash an Oklahoma stinks. But they smashed Oklahoma this year 35 to 9. So I'm curious after the big emotional victories, their little letdown this week potentially brewing for A&M. And then finally, this may be, it's not my favorite team in college football this year, but it's a team that I thoroughly enjoyed and maybe it's just because of how boisterous their coach is in Patton-Arduzi.

And I love a coach that wins and then just basically drags the team and then rubs it in your face. But Pitt right now is 7-0. Everyone in the ACC is just slobbering over Miami, slobbering over Clemson. And last week, you know, see, love, I know you're more of an NFL guy, but Kyle McCord of Syracuse up against Pitt had maybe the worst game I've ever seen a quarterback ever had. And you covered the Jets. So you've seen a lot of bad quarterback plays. Five interceptions in the first half. He had four. Three of them were pick sixes. Three pick sixes.

So that's hard to do. That's Patton-Arduzi's defense. And McCord's having a good season at Syracuse, but Pitt's 7-0 and now they play SMU. And it's like you got a big national moment where you're isolated spot Thursday, you beat Syracuse. SMU is a top 25 team.

They're good. And it's like, OK, let's see what's going to happen when Pitt goes to SMU. So I'm just curious if Pitt can stay undefeated.

But how about that? Last week, three pick sixes. Usually you don't get to finish that game to get to throw a third pick six. And they never pulled the quarterback McCord.

But like if we got three pick sixes in like three weeks, you know, for a defense, I'd be like, oh, it's pretty good defense. But three in a game. In a half. Not even a game.

A half. Probably not. Not yet. That's a once in a lifetime situation right there.

They're very jet-like, even though they're just. Oh, yeah. Yeah. I mean, they've had plenty of interceptions thrown by many quarterbacks over the years, but three pick sixes in one game.

I don't know that they've I don't know that they've ever done that. Yeah. So the Jets last night. Good victory. Right.

The second half. Yeah. Yeah. Good second half.

They show like a little pulse. All right. I mean, it's about time. They're three and six now. They like these Thursday night home games to their three wins. The other you would know against the Patriots. Yeah.

How far are you willing to go? I'm not on the Jets. I'm not OK. I wasn't before last night and I'm not going to get hooked in after last night's performance. If they go in three in a row, though, a four in a row, which would be and get to six and six, it's like, OK, interesting story.

But until they get to five hundred, I can't take them. I guess. I mean, it should be the bare minimum based on what the expectations were coming into the year. I mean, I look at like they should have won last night. There's a reason why they were favored. Yeah.

Weird. Houston with all the injuries, a wide receiver. Their lines. Jets at home. Short week. Yeah. I mean, they had jets at eight sacks.

C.J. Stroud did nothing. And thankfully, the jet offense awoke a bit in the second half.

So, you know, see what happens now. You covering New York football as much as you do. What's the better catch? Odell or Garrett Wilson? And just so people know, Garrett Wilson was the basically air Jordan the end zone last night. I still don't know if it was actually a catch, but they called it incomplete. Then they said it's a touchdown. Odell clearly caught his. Garrett Wilson's is in a win. Odell Beckham Junior's was in a loss. Yeah. I mean, I'm going to isolate the catches themselves rather than the game result.

I think I'd still give the edge to Beckham from the standpoint of at the time we hadn't really ever seen anything like that. Like a pioneer. And after that. Yeah. That became a thing that a lot of guys started to work on. You'd see it a lot in pregame warm ups.

Beckham himself. Yeah. Literally practicing the one handed grab in the end zone. And we've seen some guys do it now since that viral moment occurred. Whatever that was. Was that 2013? I think it was 2013 or 2014.

It's got to be something like that. It's basically ten years ago. I interviewed Beckham after the catch like a year later. And I was still, I want to say I was still in college, like early college. Oh, it couldn't have been 13 because he was in the 14 draft. Yeah. I was still in college. Wasn't it 2014 or 15, I think?

He's in the 14 draft. Wasn't that, I'm pretty sure that was from his rookie year. Yeah. Yeah.

Ten years. Yeah. I think the Beckham catch is better. Yeah. And I mean, Garrett Wilson took the high road last night. And also it was a clear and obvious catch. Yes. This one was debatable.

At first I didn't think it was at the naked eye. Then the first reply I did it. And then I go, OK, if you tell me like part of the calf gets down. Yeah, sure. I learned something new about the NFL over the course of the last week or so. Two of the same feet doesn't count.

Oh, yeah. But one foot and then a shin on the same leg counts. You see something happen once like I've never even thought about that. Like, oh, Pickens on Monday night, he taps the toe twice on one foot and then you see it happen again. But then this time the guy just got a shin down. Yeah. Once the one thing happens is like the floodgates open. It's like, oh, now we'll start seeing guys do it like a double tap.

And I'm sure in three years if you get the same foot down twice, it will count as two feet getting down for a catch. Right. So. All right. We'll take a break. It is Zach Gelb show on the Infinity Sports Network. We'll do a little young QB confidence meter when we come on back. Update time first. Here he is. Crystal Presti.

All right. It is the Zach Gelb show on the Infinity Sports Network. Before we get to our young QB confidence meter, let me first say it's time to ask the pros or you the listener gets us a question. O'Reilly Auto Parts. All righty, Stu. You're going to give me the young quarterback and I'm going to tell you if I have zero confidence in them, a medium amount of confidence in them or a strong amount of confidence in them. What do we got? All right. What about Bo Nix, the rookie out of Denver, who's led them to a five and three start?

I'll say medium. And here's why. It's not necessarily that I think Bo Nix is going to be great, but situation matters. And even though the Broncos don't have a great team, you have a coach. Even though I don't love him, Sean Payton is a very good offensive minded coach and could put a young quarterback in a position to succeed. So, for example, if you put Bo Nix in like Carolina or you put him even with Stu's Raiders, I don't think that's a scenario where it's going to go well. But since they have overachieved, I can't say there's no confidence, but I don't think there's a strong amount of confidence. I'll be in the middle medium.

If it was like out of ten, I would say like a four out of ten. But it's mainly because of who the coach is, not necessarily how great I think the quarterback is. All right. You mentioned the Panthers. What about Bryce Young, who returned to starting last week with Andy Dalton's injury? No confidence.

And I know he's going to start again this week and they're going up against the Saints, which is actually a winnable game because both those teams actually stink. But he's not going to succeed in Carolina. Can he go somewhere else and maybe succeed potentially? But how many mental hurdles now that they're going to overcome? I can't say that I have any confidence in him because I don't even know where he's going to be playing next time.

So I would say no confidence. What about Anthony Richardson, who has now been benched in the D? Well, you know my take about him before he got benched. I said he was a social media quarterback. So now the social media quarterback is going to be sitting on the bench, probably looking at social media during the games. Like people thought Anthony Richardson could be somebody because he has all the physical tools, but he's never put it together. And that's why I don't get why everyone was like, he's sensational. He's going to be great. Let's prognosticate him to be a great quarterback.

I need to see him put it together. And now he's on the bench. No confidence in Anthony Richardson. All right. What about your guy, Drake May?

You know, it's crazy. I've quickly changed on Drake May. So Drake May, I went into the draft process and I was admittedly so.

And I looking pretty good on this. I was more of a Jayden Daniels guy over Drake May. And I wanted the Patriots get the second overall pick to get Jayden Daniels. Now I wasn't anti Drake May. My quarterback rankings was I almost went Jayden Daniels over Caleb Williams, but I went Caleb, benefit of the doubt, Jayden and then Drake May.

Those were one, two and three. However, I wasn't bullish on the Patriots getting made because I wanted Daniels. But I did say at the third overall pick, either take Marvin Harrison Jr. or take Drake May.

And I knew they were going to take the quarterback. What I've seen through two games and a half of Drake May athletic, more NFL ready that we that we thought. I know we just saw for the concussion.

We'll see if he plays this weekend, but he's able to do more with bless. The line sucks. They don't got receivers that catch the football.

The run game's inconsistent. And I look at Drake May and there's throws that he makes during the game where you could see as long as you get a decent line. And you get someone that could be a number one wide receiver. I think he's going to have success in this league. So no medium or strong in terms of confidence, strong confidence in Drake May.

All right. What about Justin Fields, who is now semi-league QB two in Pittsburgh? How could you have any confidence in him? Like he didn't do anything wrong this year, but they just benched him in Pittsburgh. So now you're on the rebound. Now you're on your second team and your second team doesn't even believe in you. When you got when you had a little bit of success and your team was winning. So even though we know Field's a really good runner and the orange been inconsistent, but I think there's talent there. It kind of feels like the NFL is just out on Justin Field. So therefore it's no confidence.

All right. What about Will Levis with the one in six Titans to get endorsements or to play quarterback to play quarterback? Because endorsements strong. He's on my TV all the time to be a successful quarterback. I would say no too many turnovers, no confidence. Nice guy. We've had him on the show a bunch, but with what we've seen is his coach hates his guts right now. So no confidence.

All right. What about Trevor Lawrence with the Jags medium? He could be the player maybe this year in the NFL that I'm most disappointed in. I really thought him and Dougie P were going to be good.

I thought that was a good combination. You're one really good year to took a step back, but he got hurt. This has been a disaster with the Jaguars, but still you see that he's a talented quarterback.

So I'm not going to say no, but he's got to start putting it together. So I'll say a medium sized confidence and I can't say it's strong, but he's not going to be a generational quarterback like people thought he was going to be. What about the first overall pick, Caleb Williams, with his up and down play strong?

I think the offensive coordinator, they need to block that entire coaching staff. But I still have a strong amount of confidence in Caleb Williams. I still think there's been more good moments and bad moments this year.

All right. And last but not least, the second pick in the draft, Jayden Daniels. The only thing that I'm concerned about are the injuries. That's a strong amount of confidence. I had a strong amount of confidence in Jayden Daniels going into the draft. And with what I've seen so far through the first half of the season, I'm not wavering on that. He has been spectacular offensive rookie of the year right now.

And someone that's already taken a step into the MVP conversation. All right. This is Zach Gelb's show on the Infinity Sports Network. Good hour number one, talking some jets, talking some college football storylines for this week, and then doing a little young confidence QB meter right there.

It is the Zach Gelb show. When we come on back, huge, huge, huge, huge matchup this week in week nine of the National Football League season. You got the Packers. You got the Lions.

When we are handicapping the NFC, are these two teams in the NFC North the two best teams in the NFC? I'll give you my answer on that on the other side. Still to come, we'll do some Penn State, Ohio State talk in 25 minutes from now. We'll also have to get into the second hour of the show, a little onside offside as well. We got two more hours to play. We get things going when we come on back in five minutes right here on the Zach Gelb show on the Infinity Sports Network.
