Alrighty, hour number three of our radio program. That's right, it is the Zach Gelb show on the Infinity Sports Network. Alrighty, we got a lot to do, and only an hour left to play. It is a Friday, and every Monday and Friday on the show we do a little onside offside, so let's hit it. Offside with Zach Gelb. Alrighty, Sam, tell me what we got cooking today. Alright, well the Lions were one and done in the playoffs despite being the top seed in the NFC and having a first round bye.

However, one big factor in their playoff failure was the loss of their best defensive player early in the season when Aiden Hutchinson went down with an injury. Yesterday, Hutchinson met with the media and revealed some exciting news. It's great. I got cleared a while back, and now I'm just rolling with the boys now, and it feels like I'm back to being myself again. I'm really looking forward to the season. I think this is the most excited I've been for OTAs in my life. This is the biggest hiatus I've had without playing ball, so I am pumped. Onside offside, the Lions are the best team again in the NFC with Hutchinson back in the mix.

I'm going offside there. I think you got to give the edge to the defending champs. You look at their roster, and now, right, all those guys have Super Bowl winning experience. Some of those guys have played in multiple Super Bowls.

I'd rather have hurts over goth. Offensive line, even the Lions' offensive line is great. I would still take the Eagles' offensive line over them, splitting hairs. From a weapons standpoint, Saquon Barkley, give me him over Jameer Gibbs.

Wide receiver-wise, Amun Ross, St. Brown and AJ, excuse me, AJ Brown and Devante Smith as a one-two punch compared to Amun Ross, St. Brown, who's phenomenal, and then Jamison Williams. I think the edge there is better to the Eagles in their one-two punch. Tight end is where the Lions have the Eagles beat La Porta up against Dallas Goddard, so I think they're very close. Eagles just won it this past year, so I give the edge to the Eagles. Still is the best team in the NFC, so Lions are the best team in the NFC with Hutchinson back in the mix.

I will slightly go offside. Zach, your favorite topic, Aaron Rodgers. The drama is still playing out after Steelers owner Art Rooney said the team will wait, quote, a little while longer for Rodgers' decision. Now, today, rumors were swirling in Pittsburgh.

They'll wait as long as it takes. Yeah, exactly. Let's be real. Rumors were swirling in Pittsburgh that Rodgers was spotted in town leaving a hotel, sparking speculation that he could finally be signing. He also spoke to some fans and a girl asked him if he would ever play for the Bears. He said no, but there is a certain team who plays in Chicago on the road this year, clearly hinting at the Steelers' Week 13 trip to Chicago. Wait, that happened online?

Say it again. Wait, Rodgers was, where did he have this conversation? It looks like it was a Q&A with fans or something. Oh, okay. And some little girl asked him, would you ever play for the Bears? She said no, but there is a certain team that is playing in Chicago.

Oh, yeah. And, of course, the Steelers play Week 13 in Chicago. So, onside, offside, do you expect Rodgers to make his decision before the end of this month? Who the truck cares, seriously? Like, should he make a decision by the end of the month?

And it's already May 20th, yes. The question is, do I expect it? I don't expect anything from this guy outside of the fact that eventually he'll tell us he's going to go play for the Pittsburgh Steelers. So, do I expect that Rodgers will have a decision by the end of the month? I'll go offside because I just expect him to delay this as long as possible and be a drama whore. Offside. Because that's what Rodgers is.

He is a drama whore at this stage of his career. At this point, he's going to sign the day before Week 1 and then just start on that Sunday. Now, after Seth Wickersham's bombshell report that Caleb Williams' family didn't want him to be drafted by the Bears because of their awful quarterback history, Ben Johnson responded in the best possible way. The article from the upcoming book that Chicago is where quarterbacks go to die.

Like, from a distance, did you see that? And what do you think when you hear that? I love it. I love it. I love the opportunity to come on in and change that narrative. That's where great stories are written.

And so, we're looking to write a new chapter here. 2025 Chicago Bears and looking forward to the future. Onside, offside, Caleb Williams will become the first Bears quarterback ever to reach 4,000 yards passing this season. Yeah, he better.

That's not a crazy bar. 4,000 yards? You know what? Let's do this. Let me see something. NFL passing stats 2024.

Just go here. Quarterbacks threw for 4,000 yards last year. Oh, wow. It's not as many as I thought. One, two, three, four, five, six. Only six quarterbacks threw for 4,000 yards? And one of them was not Patrick Mahomes, Aaron Rodgers, or Justin Herbert. Yeah, because they were the next three on that list.

What did you have thought? That it would be at least 10 quarterbacks threw for 4,000 yards? Now, let's do this.

Let me go to the 2023 regular season. Um. Much more. One, two, three, four. Hold on. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten. Alright, so that was ten.

Now, let's just see one more. Let's go 2022 regular season. We got a 5,000-yard pass. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten.

You know what? I'm gonna be optimistic. Ben Johnson may annoy me, but I'll say that Caleb Williams threw for 4,000 yards. Now, last year, when you look at Caleb Williams, let's just quickly look at this.

This was Caleb Williams with basically zero coaching last year. His numbers were 3,541 yards. He had 20 passing touchdowns and six interceptions. I'm gonna say that Ben Johnson will find about like 500 more yards in that body. So, I will say yes, that he'll be the 4,000-yard passer this year.

Give me an onside, Sarah. Alright, only six last year. That's low. Very low. It does feel really low. There was a lot of injuries last year also.

A lot of guys getting older, but still, it feels like a low number. 4,000 yards. Especially after the extra game. Great point.

You know what? Let's do this. Let's go 2014 just for bleeps and giggles. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven. Eleven. 4,000-yard passers. Do you think you guys from 2014 can name the eleven quarterbacks that had at least 4,000 yards passing?

Just give me some names here. Let's go Tony Romo. No. Tony Romo just missed. He had 3,705 yards. Let's go Tom Brady for sure. Tommy Brady, yes. He was tenth.

4,109. Let's go Joe Flacco. Joe Flacco was not. Wow. No.

Ben Roethlisberger. Yes. Second.

4,952. Okay. Let's go with Peyton Manning. Yes. And we'll also go with 2014. Are we going Blake Bortles?

2014? Hideous. Hideous.

There's a few egregious misses here. We've got Phillip Rivers. Yes. Phillip Rivers was on that list. Okay.

Let's go. You haven't mentioned one quarterback that you have mentioned already in this segment. That I have mentioned. Aaron Rodgers of course. There we go.

2014. Brett Favre wasn't still around, was he? No, no, no, no. Well, he wasn't on the Vikings or the Jets at that point. No, no, no, no.

Let's see. New York Giants Eli Manning. Eli was not a four. Yeah, he was. He was a 4,000-year-old passer. Okay.

Give you two more guesses, then I'll just give you a little tip. Man, Drew Brees. Yeah. Drew Brees was number one that year.

4,952. Matt Ryan? Yep. Matt Ryan, 4,694. So here was year 11. Okay. Drew Brees, Ben Roethlisberger, Andrew Luck, Peyton Manning, Matt Ryan, Eli Manning, Aaron Rodgers, Phillip Rivers, Matthew Stafford, Tommy Brady.

And then if you could get 11, if either of you could get 11, I'll give you a high five. Carson Palmer? No. Niko, I wanted to guess. AFC. AFC. I was going to say Kirk Cousins, so that ruins that guess.

Mm-hmm. AFC quarterback. Made it to an AFC championship game, not with the team that he was on in 2014. Alex Smith?

No, no, no. Ryan Tannehill. He had 4,045 yards in 2014, and I think Adam Gase was his coach. Is that right, Adam Gase?

Right? He coached Tannehill. Was he the coach of the Dolphins in 2014?

No, he wasn't. 2014. Let's see. 2014 Dolphins coach. 2014 Dolphins. Joe Philbin. Remember, Joe Philbin on hard knocks. He had to cut Ochocinco.

So anyway, I think I answered your question there. Yeah, Caleb Williams will become a 4,000-yard passer. I think so this year. Onsides.

We're going to see passing numbers be booming this year. Now the Thunder took a commanding 2-0 lead over the T-Wolves after last night's 15-point beatdown. As we talked about before, OKC won 68 games, fifth most all-time, earning the No. 1 seed for the second straight year, sending an NBA record for the largest average margin of victory at 12.9, while having SGA winning the MVP. So onside, offside, if OKC wins six more games and takes home the title, they should go down as one of the best single-season teams in NBA history. So the question here is, should they, not will they?

Because the reason I say that, should they, yes. You have 60 already wins this year by double digits. You go get six more wins and you throw a few more there. Just get your next double-digit win. That's the most of all time.

Right now you're tied for the most of all time. So you look at it right now, some of the great NBA teams ever, Golden State, Chicago, the Lakers, the Celtics. You look at some of those great teams, Magic, Kobe, Shaq, LeBron, excuse me, Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, Michael Jordan. Right, like you think of some of those names, Larry Bird. Right, we're all talking about top 10 players of all time. Shea Gilges Alexander, I just feel like doesn't pop as much nationally as those other guys. So I wonder if that at all impacts them, people be like, oh, Tatum got hurt.

Ah, you know, Anthony Edwards was the competition out in the West. I think they should. I just don't know if they will. Like they to me will win the championship. I don't know though, if people right away, when you're talking about some of the greatest teams of all time, put them in the same class as some of those Golden State teams, some of those Bulls teams, some of those Celtics teams, and some of those Lakers teams. I just don't know if they will. So should they, with what they could potentially accomplish, what they've already done, as long as they get the six more victories, then yes, I do think they should go down as one of the best single season teams in NBA history. So onsides. Now, the interesting thing for me also is like, we look at SGA now, we could do 26. Who knows what happens in 10 years, have we looked back at him.

Now, as a Lakers first round exit, LeBron didn't hold back his frustration with the front office when he was asked how they can fix this team. No comment. I never say that because my guy 80 said what he needs and he was gone the following week. So I got no comment. No comment. I'm going to get traded.

Come on. Yeah, I can imagine the Lakers trading him for that. Now, Yovan Buhah of the athletic says we may have actually seen LeBron's last game with the Lakers. There's always a chance that LeBron can walk.

The relationship has been a little frosty at times. It hasn't always been the warmest over the past couple of years. Now, the one thing we've heard from sources close to LeBron is that it is unlikely that he's going to take a pay cut. And last year he took about a two point seven million dollar pay cut to help the Lakers stay under the second apron. Onside offside, LeBron should not will should leave the Lakers this offseason offside. If there was a time to leave, it would have been last offseason.

Now they just got you Luca Doncic, and they also acquiesced to every request that you had regarding your son. So in this regard, no now now no, I don't think he should leave this offseason. Last year was the lead to leave a year to leave you elected not to do so.

So now I think you stay. So should LeBron leave the Lakers this offseason I would go off side side. The Nuggets shocked the basketball world by firing Michael Malone with three games left in the regular season. Now after a big first round win and taking the Thunder to seven games, the Nuggets have rewarded interim coach David Adelman by naming him the new full time coach. Onside offside, Adelman is the right man for the job.

Onside offside, here's why. Nicole Jokic is the right guy for the job. This is Nicole Jokic's team. David Adelman is just the person that is named the coach. It's really Nicole Jokic. So I can't tell you that he's definitely the right guy for the job. Because yeah, I get he's young, basketball lineage, all that stuff.

To me, this seems as if okay, let's just get a coach that is going to be easy on the players and will be player friendly and Nicole Jokic is really going to take this team and we'll see how far they run with it. So I'll go offside. Onside. The Indiana Fever have played three games and in two of them, Kaitlyn Clark was involved in the heated altercation. First, of course, there was the Andrew Reese playing foul in reaction in the first game of the season. And then last night, Ryan Clark, if you're listening right now, just turn down the radio. All right, just turn down the radio. That's a big topic for Ryan Clark. Well, I'm also married to a white woman, so I guess he can't come after me.

Atlanta Dream Guard, Ryan Howard. I think it's a little different in that conversation. I would imagine so. Although it seemed like Ryan Clark may have apologized or at least kind of backtracked a little bit today. Yeah, please. I will not watch that apology. This is going to be the holier than now Ryan Clark apology. It's probably dramatic lighting. He's probably so serious and he's just making it a bigger deal than what it needs to be. The fact that he invoked race into this conversation with Kaitlyn Clark and Angel Reese off of what RG three said, which is Angel Reese does not like Kaitlyn Clark. And then it's like, Oh, you can't talk about this RG three because you married a white woman. So you have no idea what it's like what black women go through, even though RG three's mother is black. And then also it comes out that Ryan Clark, his first kid that he had, it was with the white woman.

Like, what are we doing here? And then he goes, I don't get why people are bringing that up because you brought it up. It's like, Oh my God, Ryan Clark.

He just tries to make a little thing into a big deal. This Angel Reese, Kaitlyn Clark thing in the large scheme of things, little thing. It's basketball. Kaitlyn Clark made a foul. She didn't want Angel Reese to score Angel Reese then overreacted. That should have been it. But then you get Ryan Clark, you know, trout on it on his high horse.

Oh, RG three. Shame on you for you saying that Angel Reese doesn't like Kaitlyn Clark. Angel Reese posts all the time about Kaitlyn Clark. Angel Reese is obsessed with Kaitlyn Clark because she's jealous, jealous of Kaitlyn Clark. Cause Kaitlyn Clark once again is Steph Curry. Angel Reese is Draymond Green.

That's what this is. And right, there's a place for Angel Reese, even though she missed like 7,000 layups last night. I saw that one clip that was going on social media, but geez, Ryan Clark.

You know what? I'm actually maybe with Kevin Durant now. I'm with Kevin Durant for, for, for one time and one time only. And I didn't agree with that at the time. But in this case, I now agree with the KD. KD, you were right. When he said players like NFL players commenting on the NBA or the WNBA stay in your lane.

Like Ryan Clark should have just stayed in his lane on this one. I'm with KD on that. KD, I don't agree with you on much, but you know what?

Two thumbs up, Kevin Durant. All right. You could continue asking me this question. I already gave you a lot there, but go ahead. I don't even know if the question is going to live up to what we just got, but last night. Cause Ryan Clark is a douche.

All right. Like how he treated Tiki Barber, our friend Tiki Barber down the hall and the lies that he told about Tiki douche. And I liked that podcast that he hosts. They do good interviews. Shannon Crowder love him.

Fred Taylor love him. Ryan Clark, when he gets like all serious, that's when I find him insufferable. Cause like have fun, do your podcast, enjoy life. But when you just start trying to make little things into bigger things, that's when he loses me all the time and he over thinks, you know, just keep it simple, silly.

That's what I would say. I'm glad you said silly because I've always known as keep it simple, stupid. Well, I would be, that would be name calling. I don't, I would never do name calling.

Sure. It's just, it's just a phrase. So, you know, you're not name calling.

You're just using a very common use phrase. Now last night, Atlanta dream guard, Ryan Howard got in Clark's face after she committed a foul on Clark with cameras catching Clark saying, quote, I'm not scared of you. Good. Onside, offside. The WNBA should step in to stop opposing players from targeting their superstar Clark.

Ah, stop it. Offside, please. Targeting?

Like what? This is basketball. This is sports. Like enough. Offside. Next.

You know, I'm going Drew Rosenhaus. Next question. All right. You know, Angel Reese, when she was asked about something about Kaitlyn Clark at that media day. Next question. It was a basketball play.

Move on. The Colorado Rockies are officially off to the worst 50 game start in modern baseball history, dating back to 1901, falling to eight and 42 after a four game sweep at the hands of the Phillies. The Rockies payroll is a paltry 77 million dollars, nearly 200 million less than the Mets and good for the seventh lowest number in baseball ahead of only the Guardians, Nationals, A's, Rays, Marlins and White Sox, with Cleveland being the only one of that group of teams above 500. And most of those teams like the White Sox and A's and Rays having awful, awful, like 300 win percentage records this year.

Onside, offside. Baseball needs to implement, forget about salary cap, a salary floor to prevent teams like this from spending too little. They should.

Will they? Absolutely not. But do they need to implement a salary floor to prevent teams from spending so little?

Absolutely onside. But do I think Rob Manfred is the proper guy to lead that and tell the owners, oh, you got to start spending more money? No, I do not think he's the right guy, but they should implement a salary floor. I'd be for that because some of these owners, they call they cry poverty.

And it's like, dude, you know how much money you're worth? Go spend a little bit more on your baseball team to put somewhat of a below average product on the field like this. This rock just below average. They are putrid. They suck. They make the White Sox from a year ago look good.

And then they fired their managers as if it's his fault. Well, that's actually a blessing. If I'm black, I'd be happy. I don't have to coach this crappy team anymore with no one's trying to win you. If you had to choose between a salary floor or salary cap in baseball, which would you prefer?

Salary floor. Yeah, me too. Yeah, you already have Pandora's box open and we're not going to castrate Steve Cohen. Keep on spending. I see where you come up. Yes, yes, yes, yes. It always is.

How does the answer benefit me? This is Zach Gelb show on the Infinity Sports Network. You know, if you were a sports fan growing up, there's really like three shows that I think you remember where when it comes to ESPN, like I remember getting home from school and you would watch two shows, right? It'd be around the horn. And then it would also be part of the interruption.

And part of the interruption obviously still around. And today is the final episode of around the horn. And then sports reporters on the weekend, too. I think it was always because my dad used to always have that on. I think it was either Saturday morning. So I forget which which day of the week it wasn't the weekend, but my dad would always have that on. That was always like a thought provoking show. But around the horn was always cool because you'd see Tony Reale at the desk and then he'd be muting the host if he didn't like their opinions or he thought they were talking too long and giving him points up.

And points down. It was just a very interactive kind of show for the time that it was around. And for whatever reason, they are getting rid of around the horn today. And it's going to be it. I think it's after twenty three seasons.

And if you're in this business and you see a run for that long, that is unbelievable. But there's so many panelists. And and to be fair, throughout the years, I think the show got stale.

I don't know if that's just me thinking that or if it's OK, you get older and then you're also in this business. You know, maybe you're like I'm on the afternoons. I'm not able to watch around the horn.

And there's other ways to consume things. But when I was a kid and you would get home from like middle school, you get home from high school, I would always remember watching around the horn. It was one of those fun kind of debate shows that it wasn't that contentious. Like now you think debate shows and you think Stephen A. Smith and Skip Bayless screaming at other people. But around the horn was kind of a more mellow debate show that was fun where you never actually thought that the panelists actually hated each other.

And that's not knock it. Like, I like Stephen A. Smith. Skip Bayless.

I was never my cup of tea. But now I think the debate shows are different. And around the horn and PTI, those are just such iconic shows. And clearly Tony Kornheiser, Michael Wolbon, they're not going anywhere.

I don't think they are. And you have around the horn having its final show today. There's so many panelists through the years. Let's go around the room and just who was our favorite panelist? For me, as a kid, I always thought it was Woody Page because he always would write things on that whiteboard. He was always so animated.

Woody Page to me was my favorite panelist on around the horn. He was one of my least favorite. I just found him so cheesy and corny. He was funny in like a dad kind of way, like a dad joke kind of way. But he was just so cheesy and corny.

I just I never liked him. So like I watched around the horn from like the very early inception. Yeah. Right. When like when Tony Reale was Stat Boy. Right. Well, he won that that fantasy contest. So that that dream content, whatever it was, that ESPN dream, whatever that job. Yeah.

Dream job. Yeah. And he was Stat Boy. And then he ended up taking over the show for Max Kellerman.

And then Max Kellerman tried to leave and do his own show with Michael Holly. Michael Holly was one of the guys I liked. I love Jay Mariotti back in the day, but turned out to be a very bad dude. But he was rich. You talk about like it was it was very I like Jay Mariotti.

You're right. You talk about the contentiousness like he was contentious. He was angry. He got into fights, but he was also a bad dude. Bob, I knew you got a legend, right?

Legend. But for me, the guy that I really love was Bill Platsky. Oh, I don't know why I love Bill Platsky. He was always just like the calm, like sane voice in the room, smarter than everybody else.

Interesting and funny, but not in a cheesy, woody, woody, page, woody page kind of way. Just Bill Platsky. Just even to this day, I still see some of the stuff that he writes in his tweets and I get kind of like geeked out about it. OK, Nico, I think you guys have better answers than mine, but I'll go with Tim Kalishaw. I feel like he was a guy that's been there for a while.

It actually could be the best one. Yeah, you think so? Yeah, because after I said what he page like Kalishaw also with the Dallas back of just very good panelists. Yeah, I thought he was always, you know, coming to the show and brought a lot of good stuff. He wasn't crazy like the other two guys, but I thought he was always pretty good. Yeah, like you just kind of had a bunch of respectable journalists on that show.

And that's what I was kind of saying earlier, like Marietta. You're right, was very opinionated and like probably the most in your face out of anybody on that show. But that's good.

I like I kind of like that stuff. But that was more I felt like it was friends debating and it never felt like really like you look back. Stephen A. Smith couldn't stand Max Kellerman when they worked together.

And ultimately, that's like why I don't. Where is magazine? The Witness Protection Pro? I haven't heard from Max Kellerman in a long time. And they got like the debate. I think Stephen A. took the debating a little bit too personal. And that goes back to who was the football? I think it was Tio.

I think it was Tio who said like, oh, Max is more black than you are. Stephen A. Smith with the way he was talking at the time. And that obviously upset and I understand that Stephen A. Smith had ever since then. That's what I think was the beginning of the end to the Max Kellerman Stephen A. Smith relationship. And hey, it's worked out for Stephen A. Smith, the guy prints money right now. And also he makes a ton of money and he is probably the most standard in sports media right now, I would say, is Stephen A. Smith.

But I just pulled up an awful announcement. Here was their top ten panelists of all time. Courtney Cronin was in at ten. In at nine, Michael Smith. Michael Smith was also very good.

He was great back in the day, too. Mina Kimes in at eight. George Sedano in at seven. Bill Plaschke in at six. Bomani Jones in at five.

Oh, that's a great one. Jackie Mack, Jackie McMullen in today's finale. Three, Woody Page, two, J.A.

Adande. And then in at number one, Tim Kalishaw. I like how you said Michael Holly. So I know Michael Holly pretty well. I actually used to call him as a kid. I used to call him as a kid into his radio show on WEEI. And he has a sick memory because he called me.

After I once called in like they had the screen of the number and then I called back like the first time I ever called in, I called back like a year later and he goes, I recognize that voice because I was that kid that called us. And then I reach out to him and we ended up developing like, you know, a friendly relationship just in terms of he would come on my shows and things like that. And then when you're at the Super Bowl, I didn't even see him. And usually I usually see him once a year at the Super Bowl, just in passing. But I guess he heard me in the convention center ranting and I was ranting over the fact of the idea that Matt Patricia and Joe Judge are going to basically run in the offense in New England, saying it was never going to work.

And the next year later, he found me. He goes, you were so right of Patricia and Joe Judge. So Michael Holly was like, that's a lot of classy. You know, I haven't watched a show like religiously in like 10 years. But when I watch it, you just had like a lot of classy, friendly fire, just journalistic debates, which I don't really think happens that much on television and probably anymore.

And there's not really an appetite for that, I guess, anymore. And that's probably why the show is now going away. Yeah, it reminds me a lot of the show you talked about with the sports reporters Dick Schapp and and Bob Ryan was on that. Mike Lupica. Sports reporters, I felt like it was more so like a panel.

Open up the New York Times and we're going to basically read the newspaper. Which is kind of close. The first of its kind, really. But so today's finale, Tim Kalashaw, Kevin Blackstone, Frank Isola. He was good, too, Kevin.

I didn't know. I saw how was he on that? I saw was phenomenal. Yeah, I like I saw Levi and then Jackie McMullen. I didn't love it.

Blackstone's great. Frank is always great. I thought today for the final show, you should have had like a Kalashaw, a Platsky, Woody Page, Jackie McMullen. Now.

Now, I mean, oh, geez. So I think they they ended up getting all those. I think they had like all the main panelists rotate throughout.

But like you said, who did you say the four were that you saw for me? So today it was Kalashaw, Blackstone, Isola and McMullen today. I think that was it for today. I don't know if they had a rotating.

OK, today. Because the reason I brought this up is I just saw one of the things that were clipped. I don't know if they maybe went to all them on the show. But but I saw something that was the intro of Tony Reale today and they had like 40 people up on the screen and it was 40 of like the host. Then he walked in and showed all the behind the scenes people. So I don't know if that was just, oh, you know, for the shot and everything. And you just saw the 40 panelists. But I'd like I don't know how many could get through in the show.

And they probably still want to do somewhat of a of a true show. So who knows? But yeah. So congratulations. That's from my 23 years. That's in this business.

That's ridiculous. And the top ranked panelists of all time. But you have the most you the wins list. No, I'm just saying the top ranked base off the list that you read. Oh, yeah.

Tim Kalashaw. He won today with 30 points because those points matter. Imagine if you had the last around 30 points.

Because those points matter. Imagine if you had the last around the horn victory. I think that's is there an all time wins? Who do you think there used to be a tell?

I think there still is. Now, some of those guys and gals around the horn. Woody Page. I like winners. That's why I picked Woody Page.

That's why I like Tom Brady. He has the most around the horn victories. He's had two thousand nine hundred and sixty four appearances and six hundred and eighty eight wins. You have a Tim Kalashaw with twenty six percent winning percentage. Twenty one hundred and thirteen appearances. Five hundred and fifty wins.

Better when he shows up. Yeah, that's that's fair. That's that's fair. Look at that stat. You could be stat boy.

We're breaking down now. All time. He had four hundred and twenty seven wins and one thousand seven hundred fifty seven appearances.

All time winningest win percentage. Mark Cuban one for one. Little Wayne one for one.

Wow. I'm actually seeing a Little Wayne concert in two weeks. He comes to Madison Square Garden. All right. Anyway, you want to come to me in a little show.

Madison Square Garden. You in. I think I think I have something to do. All right.

It's time to answer. Ask the pros. Question of the day brought to you by O'Reilly Auto Parts. Jason in Iowa says Zach, I just heard you talking about around the horn and PTI. What was another one of your favorite ESPN shows? You could submit a question by tweeting at INS Sports that are at Zach. I'll be in the hash.

I guess the pros think O'Reilly Auto Parts for all your car care needs get guaranteed low prices and excellent customer service from the professional parts people at O'Reilly Auto Parts. I said sports reporters who I like. You know, it was a great show. Stump the Schwab. Now, Howie Schwab passed away. But that dude was an almanac for sports. And he just knew every single like trivia question out there.

So Stump the Schwab was always a good one, too. Anyway, I was reading this article the other day and I always point this out because I've done this before. Where you you're getting about to criticize someone. You go, I really like them, but so David Falk, the longtime agent represented obviously Michael Jordan. He was at the Sports Business Journal Conference.

I think that was here in the city. And he said, I really like LeBron, but I think if Jordan had cherry picked what teams he wanted to be on and two other superstars, he would have won 15 championships. It's a fair point by David Falk.

Very fair point. Now, you look back at LeBron. It's going to it's going to be weird, but I'm about to say I will preface it by that, but I think it's accurate. LeBron only winning four championships is kind of disappointing. If you look back at it.

All right. He was at Cleveland to start his career, got to an NBA Finals and loss. Then this is where the cherry picking started. Right.

To go into David Falk's argument. He goes to Miami, wins two championships in Miami, but also lost to NBA Finals. He was there in Miami for four years.

And right. He was the one that was like, oh, not one, not two, not three, not four, not seven thousand and sixty five championships. You look back at that. They lost the one up against Dallas.

Inexcusable. Then they beat OKC. They beat San Antonio. Then they lose the San Antonio. They should have won a third championship there. Now, you could also argue if Ray Allen doesn't hit that shot in Game 6. You may only have won one championship.

So it could go both ways. Right. You should have probably won the Dallas one. And then you probably should have won the one up against San Antonio.

No, the first one. But only going 50 percent there. That to me. I know you take two championships in four years, both the game that was talked and then the relationship deteriorated with him and Pat Riley. He only got two championships there. Then remember, he goes back to Cleveland.

And when he goes back to Cleveland and you and you have Kyrie Irving there, you add Kevin Love. Most people would have thought that LeBron would have had more than one championship in Cleveland. Now, that's the most important championship of his career, because, right, you look at the one in Los Angeles, you get the two at Miami. Getting one in Cleveland is the memory that everyone will have a LeBron James if you're like, OK, isolate one memory from LeBron's career. And it was that block by James that he had in that Game 7.

But he goes back to Cleveland. And in a weird way, the championship that he won in Cleveland probably prevented him from winning another championship in Cleveland because him winning that championship in Cleveland. He ended up having right that Warriors team. They then went out and they ended up getting Kevin Durant after that. And once that Warriors team got Kevin Durant with the 73 wins in the regular season and then they end up not winning that championship, LeBron coming back from down 3-1 with Kyrie.

They're like, OK, let's go make this really just at a ridiculous level. And they got Kevin Durant and that prevented LeBron from winning another championship. Now, when LeBron ended up going to L.A., not many people thought he was going to win a championship in L.A. Now, he did win a championship and it ended up being the championship that was won in the bubble. But he wins four championships. I don't think LeBron's going to win another championship.

So obviously, you win four championships, it's something to celebrate. But to folks' point with how he picked these teams, right, going to Miami, Bosh, Wade, going back to Cleveland, Kyrie, Kevin Love, then not only going to Los Angeles, getting Anthony Davis as well. For LeBron to only win four championships, we all know he's the second greatest basketball player of all time. But with having the right to choose and how often he elected to choose how he wanted to construct the teams and him really being the architect of all those teams. Mike, like four championships for LeBron, I know it's weird to criticize, but you would have thought he would have won more than four championships, especially when he always was picking the teams outside of that first run in Cleveland.

He was always picking the teams and the players that he was going to end up playing with. And you think about it, he went to 10. He went to 10 NBA Finals. He has a losing record in the NBA Finals, which is why you can never really put him above Jordan. Forget about Jordan just being 6-0. Jordan is obviously above 500. LeBron is 4-6. You have to give him credit for getting to 10. I get it. Yeah, I guess maybe he could have won one more against the Warriors.

Doubtful. Maybe he could have won one more with the Heat. But still, even if he was 5-5 in the Finals, you give him credit for getting there 10 times, but you also have to knock him for not getting there. And then Cleveland was the best team by far. Remember if you remember the puppet LeBron, the puppet Kobe, and the Lakers and the Cavs were on this collision course for the Finals. And then they lost to the Magic in the Eastern Conference Finals and Dwight Howard. So LeBron has fallen short as many times as he's gotten there. He's never lived up to that expectation that he, in a lot of ways, set himself with the 0-1, 0-2, 0-3. The height that was set for him, I was just watching some of the 30-for-30 of him in high school. He needed to get to 6 championships.

At least. Or at least 5 to get to Kobe's number. Well, I'm just thinking Jordan. Few people make the case that Kobe was a better player than LeBron James. So with how he went to Miami, and then you're right, he started saying all those championships, and then he left Miami after getting 2, and then it's like, hey, you go to Cleveland, you get 3. After that, yes, I know you didn't expect him to win the one in LA, but I would have thought he would have at least had, you're right, 5 championships in his career.

Now, also, here's the other point. Michael Jordan's best teammates were probably, well, Scottie Pippen was his best teammate. Then you had Dennis Rodman and, what, Tony Kukoc, right? Yeah.

Right? I mean, you can throw in, you know, Horace Grant, I guess? Okay, but look at LeBron's teammates. You won All-Star Game? Look at LeBron's teammates.

I know Bosh wasn't always healthy, but you had Dwyane Wade, you had Bosh. Hall of Famer. You have Anthony Davis. Hall of Famer. Kyrie Irving.

Hall of Famer. Like, and now, it's late in his career, I'm not expecting to win, but you have Luka Doncic now. You know, it's like, I get it, Scottie Pippen was wonderful, but look at the, to Falk's point, the teams that he constructed, if Jordan did that, if Jordan was allowed to do that, right? I would have thought if Michael Jordan had 6 championships with how he got them, yeah, he probably would have had more.

You know? You also think about, like, we talk about the top 3, right? Jordan, LeBron, and Kareem kind of feel like they're locked into the top 3.

Whatever order you have them in, those are the 3. Kareem has 6 titles, too. Yeah. Right? So, like, at the end of the day, LeBron having 4 titles, I think historically people are going to look back and say, okay, LeBron was great, but he doesn't belong up there with MJ, and maybe he doesn't even belong up there with Kareem.

Not at this moment, but right now I'm looking at recency barriers. He passed them for most points of all time. Right now I'm looking at recency bias, but Kareem had that record for years, and LeBron played more years than Kareem. Kareem averaged more points than LeBron. Yeah, that where I'm not, and he has more NBA MVPs in him, but it's like a totally, the errors of it, that's what makes that difficult to do. Sure. In terms of this, let's not complicate this, this is what David Falk said was the championship chase-in and all that.

You look at the teammates that Jordan had and then what LeBron had, all I'm saying is I just would have thought that LeBron would have had more than 4 championships, with the right to choose basically where he was going to go and what friends he could kind of put on those teams. That was basically the genesis of the conversation. Alrighty, that will do it for the Zach Gelb show on the Infinity Sports Network. We will be back on Tuesday. Happy Memorial Day, hope everyone has a safe, fun Memorial Day weekend.
