Live from the police show, you're not overly ostentatious studios of the Infinity Sports Network here in beautiful New York City, sitting on top of the 10th floor of 345 Hudson Street. Welcome on into a Tuesday edition of the Zach Gelb show across all great local Infinity Sports Network affiliates, Sirius XM Channel 375 and the Always Free Odyssey app. We're having a few technical difficulties to start off the show today, so I do not know if we'll be able to stream on YouTube.

Today, but there are other ways to listen to us. As I just mentioned, 888-710-4ISN is the number to jump on in. That's 888-710-4476. You could always get at me on Instagram where I'm straight flexing or via the good old cesspool of Twitter at Zach Gelb.

That's Z-A-C-H-G-E-L-B. Stu was supposed to be out today. I guess Samter got the sniffle, so we'll see when the heck he returns, but we're rocking and rolling all the way up until 6 p.m. Eastern, 3 p.m. Pacific Time. Joe Theismann is going to join us at the top of the hour.

I have Alex Azarum, and I guess whenever Carlos with a K gets in here, he'll be joining us as well. So let's start off the show today. As you can tell, I'm in a lovely mood with Joe Klatt of Fox Sports, and Joe Klatt of Fox Sports released his top 10 quarterback list for the 2025 season.

This was released yesterday. In at number 10 was Carson Beck. In at number 9 was Luke Altmyer of Illinois.

8, Lenora Sellers of South Carolina. 7, DJ Lagway of Florida. 6, Garrett Nussmeier of LSU. Penn State quarterback Drew Aller. And at the 5 spot, Sam Levitt, who had the Sun Devils in the playoff last year, takes home the 4th spot. John Matier coming over from Washington State, now with the Oklahoma Sooners. In at 3, Arch Manning, as he is finally expected to be the full-time starter for the Texas Longhorns.

He's in the 2nd spot. And then at the number 1 spot, coming back for another season of college football, is Cade Klubnick. So, I think there's a lot of reaction there, and a lot of people are going to say, well, are you going to call Arch Manning the 2nd best quarterback in college football without ever starting a full season?

I think you can because of where the buzz is. Cade Klubnick to me is fascinating, how we're going to be talking about him at the end of the year. Because I look at Cade Klubnick as someone who's been good, and I thought that he had a nice end of the season last year, but when I watch Cade Klubnick play, I think there's a different level that he could get to. And to be fair, for all these quarterbacks on the list, there is a big question mark. Like, you look at Carson Beck in at the number 10 spot for Miami. Well, Carson Beck is someone that last year was projected to be the number 1 overall pick of the draft, and Carson Beck is someone that was at Georgia, and now he's at Miami.

So, coming off the injury, can Carson Beck find a way to get back to the way that we were talking about Carson Beck this time last year? Luke Altmyer I think is incredibly underrated, and I think there's going to be a lot of people when the top 10, top 25 rankings come out, they're going to be surprised about how highly ranked Illinois is. I don't think they should.

But I find it very fitting that Luke Altmyer is not on this list, and the Lenora Sellers of South Carolina is at 8. Because for Illinois in the Big 10, I do think there's a question of how far can Illinois go? Like, can Illinois win the Big 10, or will they just be positioned behind an Oregon, a Penn State, Ohio State, and will they be playing for like third or fourth place in that conference? I think there's a similar conversation to be had about South Carolina, and South Carolina under Shane Beamer last year was one of the hottest teams in the country at the end of the season, but they just missed out on the college football playoff. Now, the upside for Lenora Sellers is tremendous, and I think Lenora Sellers could end up having, outside of Arch Manning, the highest ceiling out of any quarterback in the nation this year. That is how much of a dual threat he is, and his legs are phenomenal.

Now he just needs to develop more consistency with the arm. But what you saw to South Carolina at the end of the season, it was a little bit of the appetizer of what that team could be and what that team could be entering this year. Florida with DJ Lagway.

Let's be real. I think the only reason why Billy Napier kept his job as long as he did, and I know towards the end of the season, Billy Napier had a nice win up against Ole Miss, but it was this fear that if you got rid of Billy Napier at Florida, that DJ Lagway would end up transferring and going elsewhere. There's so much buzz. There's so much optimism about DJ Lagway. I think he's going to be a really good quarterback, but is he really good or can he be really great? In at number six is Garrett Nussmeier. Everyone keeps on telling me how great Garrett Nussmeier is, and in LSU's system, the quarterback always puts up big numbers. I think Garrett Nussmeier is good, but once again, can he take his game to the next level?

And also, can LSU have a complete team where the Tigers, who the last few years they've been able to put up a ton of points, but their defense has been extremely leaky and their defense has been filled with holes at times that resemble Swiss cheese. When you take a look back, especially when Jayden Daniels was there two years ago. In at number five is Drew Aller. Drew Aller is another guy that I keep on being told how great Drew Aller is. I have yet to see him really outside of the second half of that USC game resemble up against, and USC is not a marquee opponent, but up against a marquee opponent, I have not seen Drew Aller be great. You know, up against Ohio State, he was underwhelming.

You even go last year in the in the playoff with a spot in the national championship game on the line, extremely underwhelming. And him, not James Franklin, but it was Drew Aller, was the biggest reason why the Penn State Nittany Lions weren't able to find a way to take care of business and get a victory up against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Sam Levitt is in at four on this list. I think Sam Levitt's really damn good. And Sam Levitt to me has a ton of confidence. Sam Levitt this time when he joined us about like a month left of the season, Sam Levitt was someone that I thought when he told me that he could be eventually the number one pick in the draft, a lot of people thought that was cocky, but that's the kind of bravado, that's the kind of swagger quarterback now has. Now, the big thing with Sam Levitt, who they didn't have Jordan Tyson for that playoff game, the wide receiver, he got hurt at the end of the season.

They did lose the identity of their offense a year ago. So Tyson at least comes back this year, but Cam Scatterboos now with the New York Football Giants, he was their bread and butter last year. I do believe Sam Levitt is one of those guys, though, that if you put more on his plate, you will see that Sam Levitt is going to be a really, really, really good quarterback. And I like what Kenny Dillingham has done out in the desert with the Arizona Sun Devils, Arizona State Sun Devils.

Jon Matier coming over from Washington State. I think this will be the name on the list. Like if you're looking at top ten quarterbacks, it feels like Sam Levitt belongs on that list. It feels like Jurali belongs to that list somewhere. Garrett Nussmeier, D.J. Lagway, Lenora Sellers, Luke Galtmeyer and even Carson Beck.

Right. Even after that abysmal season that he had a year ago. All those guys I'm good with on the top ten list. I do think the most controversial name, though, on this list will be Jon Matier.

And I think a big reason is because people just don't know a lot about him. He's coming over from Washington State. Remember the last Washington State quarterback to transfer to a bigger program? That was a guy by the name of Cam Ward when Cam Ward transferred over from Washington State to Miami. Now, Jon Matier goes to Oklahoma, where this is a massive year, in my opinion, for their head football coach, even though he just got an extension. I still think for Brent Venables, who is supposed to be all that and was supposed to be a great coach, and he could just pick whatever job he wanted. And he was in a very comfy job when he was working for Dabo Sweeney with Clemson. But Brent Venables is someone. He needs to now move this Oklahoma train back in the right direction and just get in a victory at the end of the season up against Alabama.

That's not good enough. And Jon Matier is someone that's come over Washington State, where last year he completed almost 65 percent of his passes, had three thousand one hundred and thirty nine yards, twenty nine touchdowns and seven interceptions. And let's be real, you go be the quarterback of Oklahoma, you would imagine that your numbers are going to be better than that.

So that's a pretty good starting point. And Klatt knows his stuff. Klatt is someone last year that was very high on Kyle McCord going to Syracuse. So, yes, I understand that Oklahoma is a bigger program than Syracuse, but this feels like the Kyle McCord kind of pick where Joe Klatt was very optimistic about McCord a year ago.

Now it's a Jon Matier. Arch Manning in at two. There is not a more intriguing player or an intriguing individual in college football this season than Arch Manning. We have been now told for, what, four years how great Arch Manning is? Going back to even high school when, let's be real, even though we're all big football fans, I don't know if Alex's arm and Carlos with the K were watching Arch Manning in high school.

Quite frankly, I wasn't as well. But when you are Manning and you have that last name and you know the clout, that last name does come within the expectations where just making the NFL isn't good enough. Just being a number one overall pick isn't good enough. Just making a few pro balls isn't good enough. When you are a Manning, you are expected to be one of the best quarterbacks in the league, a quarterback that wins a Super Bowl and ultimately gets a Hall of Fame jacket.

Right? Peyton Manning has the Hall of Fame jacket. He has two Super Bowls. Eli Manning has two Super Bowls, two Super Bowl MVPs. I know he didn't get into the Hall of Fame this year, but one day he will get into the Hall of Fame. It's go time, though, for Arch Manning because it was a little unconventional.

It was a little unorthodox. I didn't think we'd have to see Arch Manning sit two years at Texas, but that was the case. And I know with the injuries to Quinn Ewers and your number one right with Murphy there, Arch Manning was the third quarterback on the depth chart. But last year he was two. He got in a little bit when Quinn Ewers got hurt.

There were some specific packages for him as well. Even up against a Georgia game, they turned the baton over to him slightly before going back to Quinn Ewers. Arch Manning the last two years, for the most part, has been sitting. He's been sitting, he's been learning, and he's been ready for this moment. And I think it was by design, at least for one year, by the Manning family, but clearly they were content for him to basically sit for two seasons.

Now it's time to finally show that the hype isn't just the hype and it can be reality. But in a number one on this list by Joel Klatt, the top 10 quarterbacks of the 2025 season is Cade Klubnick. And I think Cade Klubnick being number one shows a few things. One, there's no doubt about it, like bona fide star right now, where if the talk of him being number one, like if they put Arch Manning number one on this list, it's all speculation, it's all hope, and it's all potential based off the scouting reports. But putting Cade Klubnick number one, I think just shows how consistent kind of Cade Klubnick has been. And also to a level of maybe it's just a really good year of quarterbacks. And I know the draft class, right, it's supposed to be better than this upcoming, this past year.

But there's no like breakaway, easy guarantee slam dunk. This guy is definitely the best quarterback and the great quarterback in all of college football. But what Cade Klubnick did last year was very impressive.

And I think it doesn't get talked about enough. He completed nearly 64 percent of his passes. He threw for nearly thirty seven hundred yards and he had thirty six touchdowns to six interceptions. And also, I thought Cade Klubnick played well up against Texas in the playoff and wasn't the reason why they ended up losing to Texas. So I look at a Cade Klubnick, even though I didn't love his performance up against South Carolina towards the end of the season, and they found a way to come on back and they won that ACC championship game up against SMU. I look at Cade Klubnick right now and this Clemson program and I just ask this question. Where are they heading?

What direction are they heading towards? Because when I see Cade Klubnick, I know he's good. When I see Clemson, I know they're good. But are they just ACC great or are they great up against the rest? And I was looking at an early top twenty five poll after spring ball by Marc Shlaibaugh of ESPN.

That's a really good job. And he had Penn State as the best team in the country. And then after that, it was Clemson in number two.

So I look at the Tigers and this is what I say. I want to see this year from the Clemson Tigers, who used to be right with Davos Rini, this incredible rise. They got to a few national championship games. They won two national championships. They were a team that was humming.

They were a team that created a new standard. And the last three or four years, we have not looked at them as a national championship contender. This year, they're on the short list of teams that you think of as a national championship contender. But can they actually find a way to win another national championship?

Because Davos has been stubborn. Davos did win an ACC championship again last year. But that's not the Clemson way. The Clemson way under Davos Rini, to his credit, he got them into being a national championship team. And it's one thing to just make the 12 team playoff. It's one thing to just win the ACC.

But can this combination of Davos Rini and also Cade Klubnick get Clemson back to where they should belong? Because this is a year in college football where a lot of people are going to tell me, oh, Penn State's the best team in the country. If that's the case, and I know Penn State has a good team, that means college football is open this year. There's questions about Georgia. There's questions about Alabama. Even Ohio State, even though they returned Jeremiah Smith, there's questions about them.

There are questions about a lot of teams that you're used to seeing in the top five. And the idea when you present Penn State as a lot of people's pick right now to win the national championship, when James Franklin and Drew Aller have been allergic to winning a big game, it creates a situation where maybe just being good will be great enough this year to go win a national championship. So I look at a team like Clemson who's running it back with Davos, running it back with Cade Klubnick. Can they get Clemson back to that level of where they were with Deshaun Watson, where they were with Trevor Lawrence, where they were playing for national championships, and also won two national championships?

That's what is the duty this year. And that's the goal this year for the Clemson Tigers. And they're one of the teams that are on my shortlist of feeling like they're legitimate championship robust expectations. And I'm not just talking about an ACC championship for Clemson. I'm talking about a national championship. And I've been very critical of Dabo. But this year will be very telling on how we're talking about Clemson at the end of the year, of how we view Clemson against the rest of the college football landscape. All right.

It is Zach Gelb Show on the Infinity Sports Network. We'll take a break when we come on back. We were discussing very candidly yesterday the ridiculousness of this whole Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese aftermath. Well, it got to just a stupid level. Like, I thought it was already stupid. It was dumber what happened yesterday. And I talked about it briefly because I saw the headline as it was happening.

And then I did a full dive at it after the show. What Ryan Clark pulled yesterday was a bunch of hogwash and was a bunch of bullcrap. We get into RG3 against Ryan Clark when it comes to Angel Reese versus Caitlin Clark, when the Zach Gelb show does continue after these short messages. Let's get into this nonsense between RG3 and Ryan Clark. And quite frankly, I don't understand how people are on Ryan Clark's side.

Honestly, the holier than thou approach that Ryan Clark takes when discussing anything is starting to get real sickening. And I'll be honest, I saw how he treated one of our colleagues, Tiki Barber. And a lot of people think they know Tiki Barber. They don't Tiki Barber for someone that should be able to have a big ego.

He walks around these buildings like he's a regular person. There are talk show hosts in this building that have bigger egos than Tiki Barber, who not only is a talk show host now, but was a great NFL running back and arguably a potential Hall of Fame running back. And the whole Saquon Barkley thing, the way that Ryan Clark tweeted Tiki treated Tiki Barber was, quite frankly, just ridiculous. But this is what Ryan Clark does. Like he throws daggers and then he's like, oh, let's talk about it offline. But in this case, I don't understand Ryan Clark's point.

I really don't. So we discussed this yesterday. Angel Reese played Caitlin Clark over the weekend. Right. And whenever Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark go up against one another, something else other than basketball becomes a major issue. And I said this yesterday in terms of the way that I view them as a player, in terms of what they've done for their sport, in terms of the style of basketball they play. Obviously, Caitlin Clark has to win championships, but she reminds me of the female version of Steph Curry, the jaw dropping threes just being so likeable and being so easy to watch. And then you watch Angel Reese play and there's a role for Angel Reese on a successful team.

She showed that at LSU and she's a big personality. But Angel Reese is polarizing. Angel Reese is like Draymond Green, where Angel Reese has even talked about being the villain. Angel Reese gets rebounds. Right. Angel Reese will set screens. Angel Reese will clean up in front of the basket.

Right. She does the work that is necessary in order to win. But she's not a great player. She's not a player that you look at and you say she's on the level of Caitlin Clark. And my one gripe with Angel Reese is this. She says she embraces the villain role, but then she plays the victim card a lot. And I understand there's a fine line and a lot of times there's idiots. And let me be abundantly clear about this.

There are idiots that cross that fine line. But on a basketball court, I do think that Angel Reese is jealous of Caitlin Clark. And you hear that, especially when Angel Reese was like, I just want people to know that I'm a reason why they watch college.

They watch women's basketball as well. That exact moment. And Draymond Green is going to the Hall of Fame. Right. Do I consider Draymond Green an all time great player?

No. So me calling Angel Reese Draymond Green is not a diss, is not a slap in the face. But there's a difference in Steph Curry and there's a difference in Draymond Green. There's a difference in Caitlin Clark and there's a difference in Angel Reese.

So moving, you know, resetting that from yesterday and then moving it forward into today. People just love to talk race in this situation between Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark and in the play that happened on the basketball court. There's nothing racial about it. Like there's no race take to make on the basketball court about Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese in terms of what happened this past weekend and only this past weekend. I'm not saying there's never a conversation for race, but in terms of Angel Reese shoving a player in the Indiana Fever and then Angel Reese having an easy layup and Caitlin Clark having a foul to prevent her from making the layup.

We see that all the time. And it was honestly Angel Reese. And I was talking about this because yesterday I guess technical difficulties has been a big problem the last 24 hours. I can't see you on YouTube today. And then also they couldn't connect J.R. yesterday. So I had to do the first 10 minutes of J.R. show yesterday as they were having trouble getting him on the board. And I said to J.R. when we were talking on the air, you know, what are your thoughts on the Angel Reese situation with Caitlin Clark? And he basically said, J.R., and I agree with him, we had the same take that she made it worse than what it needed to be. She charged right at Caitlin Clark and Caitlin Clark just walked away and she was wagging her finger and then she was on the bench and she was yelling at the coach. She made it a big deal. And I thought, quite frankly, she flopped at first. You see one angle, it looks like a clear flop.

And then there's another angle. OK, she got pushed. Did you need to get up and make it some big deal?

No. So that place should have happened and that should have been it. But any time it's Caitlin Clark against Angel Reese, there's always like a race element that gets thrown into this because it's a white girl.

Right. And Caitlin Clark up against a black woman in Angel Reese. And that turns into, you know, some people saying if you root for Caitlin Clark, it's just because she's a white girl. And that's only why she's popular.

And that's dumb analysis. You wonder why Caitlin Clark's popular. And I'm not someone that like sucks up to the WNBA or women's college basketball. But Caitlin Clark is popular because she does things on the basketball court from three that are fun to watch.

All right. Like there's other players that I enjoy watching in the WNBA or women's college basketball. Like Juju Watkins, for example.

And it was unfortunate that she got hurt in the college basketball tournament. It stunk. But in this case, there's always a race element that gets brought into it. And this past 48 hours, 72 hours, whatever it is now, it feels really unnecessary this time. So RG three just puts out a tweet and it was something along the lines of that. Oh, this is this just shows what happens today. How much Angel Reese hates Caitlin Clark. Yeah, I don't think Angel Reese likes Caitlin Clark. I don't. And if you're not allowed to say that, then tough luck. Tune into a different show.

You know, go tune into a different show. I don't think there was anything crazy about what RG three said in. And I don't and I like RG three, to be clear.

Right. We're represented by the same agency. I've met RG three and his wife before a few times.

We've been at the same social functions before. I like RG three. Do I like all of RG three's content?

No, I don't. But in this case, to sit there and just talk about the basketball play and say that, oh, RG three had a tweet about Angel Reese not liking Caitlin Clark. And it shows just how much he hates her or she hates her. Like, what's the big deal on this tweet?

To me, there is nothing wrong with it. And I'll read you the entire tweet here. Angel Reese. It's a long tweet.

Maybe I won't read you the entire thing, but I'll read you the first few sentences. Angel Reese hates Caitlin Clark. It's staring us all right in the face. But people are afraid to say it won't answer questions about Caitlin Clark gets mad when people praise Caitlin Clark for the explosion of popularity around women. Basketball celebrates her when her teammates flag really foul. Caitlin Clark goes after goes after and tries to punch Caitlin Clark after routine, make them earn a foul after Angel Reese fouled Leah Boston with the push in the back.

And that wasn't called. That's not just hate. That's jealousy and resentment. Now, there's a lot more there.

And I don't need to read the entire thing, but I don't think any of that is crazy. Do I think that Angel Reese is jealous of Caitlin Clark? Yes. Do maybe hates a strong word. But does Angel Reese dislike Caitlin Clark?

Yes. And folks, that's OK. We're allowed to have rivalries. Not everyone needs to be LeBron James, who? Oh, I love everybody in the NBA when you know he doesn't.

And he comes off extremely phony the last few years. So I have no problem with what RG three said. And then Ryan Clark takes it to a different level where we'll play it for you.

Ryan Clark somehow goes after RG three's wife. And I like the pivot. You know, I go on Shannon Crowder show in Miami on 560 WQM every week with Mark Hochman and Alejandro Solana. Every week I go on that show and the pivot has Shannon Crowder, Fred Taylor and Ryan Clark. I just watched your interview with Bill Belichick. I watch a lot of their content. Their interview with Cooper to Jean.

I like the pivot. But Ryan Clark, when he sometimes he just he sounds insufferable. There's just an arrogance to him. And he tries to overcomplicate things.

And when you when you think you're the smartest guy in the room, sometimes you look like a jackass. And when you think you're holier than now all the time and you treated Tiki Barber, our colleague, the way that you did, you come off just incredibly disingenuous and you're trying to make a point that is nonexistent to me and doesn't make any damn sense. So here is Ryan Clark, an excerpt of it going after RG three's wife. And so now if you're RG three, when is the last time within your household you've had a conversation about what she's dealing with? You haven't been able to do that because in both of your marriages you've been married to white women. You haven't had opportunities to have those conversations to educate you on what they're feeling, what black women deal with, what they're seeing when they think of a young Angel Reese and the whole time that he's mimicking Angel Reese and bobbing his head and moving his neck while he's doing this whole piece. His wife is in the back. Amen.

And clapping. So RG three has no clue what any black woman goes through because he married a white woman. That's the analysis by Ryan Clark. So RG three has never had any interactions with any black woman, right? Like maybe his mother, but he has no clue how to relate to Angel Reese because he married a white woman.

Like, and also what does that have to do with his analysis? His analysis was I don't think Angel Reese likes Caitlin Clark. Angel Reese is jealous of Caitlin Clark. Angel Reese hates Caitlin Clark.

What is wrong with what RG three said? And Ryan Clark takes it to a level of race being thrown into this situation. And there's times have serious conversations about race. There's obviously a lot of racism that goes on. But Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark in terms of that foul and that reaction by Angel Reese has nothing to do with race. And I thought it was extremely classless and extremely distasteful by Ryan Clark with this holier than thou approach to go after RG three and basically say he can't relate to Angel Reese or anything that happens with Angel Reese. Because he he married a white woman and he doesn't know what Angel Reese goes through. Like what?

You don't think he's he's had family members that are black. Like what are we doing here? So RG three saw this and then obviously he responded. And this is what RG three said about Ryan Clark. All of you know, there's there's a line in life that you just simply don't cross.

Wives and children are always off limits. And Ryan Clark has sprinted past that line. But Ryan, you crossed the line, man. You made it personal and so I really believe there should be no space in sports media for personal attacks. I've said it before, but certainly personal attacks against wife and children have always been off limits. Ryan, you attack me and my family in a public form.

On a level that shows just how low of a human being you are. So Ryan Clark responded to this on social media. He said, bro, you know what it is with me and you. I saved you the entire season on Monday Night Football. I urge people to let you be you no matter how corny, how bad a teammate you were. I had your back. What did you do? Invite someone on your show you know I don't fool with to ask questions about me and then hit me weeks later to tell me you're going to challenge one of my takes. You're a phony, bro.

One of the worst teammates I've ever had both on and off the field and in TV. You've got to do what you got to do. Now, I have no clue what he's talking about in terms of this interview. But then he goes on to say, I didn't attack your wife. I spoke on what you do on social media and TV. Like I said, I met your wife and she seemed like a lovely lady and that was worth more than the color of her skin. You be good, bro.

Here's the thing, though. Why even bring his wife into the conversation? And once again, Azharan, before I take the break here, play me the Ryan Clark comment one more time because I just want to make sure that I'm understanding this correctly.

Go ahead. And so now if you're RG3, when is the last time within your household you've had a conversation about what she's dealing with? You haven't been able to do that because in both of your marriages you've been married to white women. You haven't had opportunities to have those conversations to educate you on what they're feeling, what black women deal with, what they're seeing when they think of a young Angel Reese.

And the whole time that he's mimicking Angel Reese and bobbing his head and moving his neck while he's doing this whole piece, his wife is in the back, amen-ing and clapping. So RG3 is uneducated. RG3 can't form his own opinion about Angel Reese and him feeling like Angel Reese hates Kaitlyn Clark because he married a white woman. That's the analysis I heard from Ryan Clark. I'm sorry, folks. That's ridiculous. Like, Ryan Clark makes it seem as if Robert Griffin III has never interacted with a black female in the history of his life. It's stupid what Ryan Clark said.

And I don't see anybody. And in light of me, if I'm wrong here and you have a different perspective on this, I welcome the conversation. 8-8-7-10-4-ISN.

8-8-7-10-44-76. But you tell me how Ryan Clark is right on this. And I'm not even saying everything that RG3 does is right, but in this case I had no problem with his original tweet. And I thought the Ryan Clark response was extremely classless. It is the Zach Gelb show on the Infinity Sports Network. We'll take a break. When we come on back, we will talk about the tush push.

And is it about to get banned? Update time first here, Zach. You can tweet the show at Zach Gelb, Z-A-C-H-G-E-L-B, where there's a Paul Gelb out there. And he says, cousin, let me know when you're up for having me join you to talk about the Knicks. Now, I've never met Paul in my life. And I don't think we are related. But Paul, you could call 8-8-8-7-10-4-ISN. 8-8-8-7-10-44-76.

And we could talk Knicks whenever you like. I also got another tweet after my commentary about RG3 and Ryan Clark with Kaitlyn Clark and Angel Reese. J-Rock Radio says, totally agree, Zach. Does Angel Reese hate CC? Maybe not. But is she one of Kaitlyn Clark's haters? Absolutely. Does she hate to see CC shine? Absolutely. And I agree with that. I don't know if Angel Reese totally hates Kaitlyn Clark.

I think dislike is a better word. And she's jealous of her. Because, look, Angel Reese beat Kaitlyn Clark and won a national championship. Kaitlyn Clark then the following season beat her in the NCAA tournament.

But I do believe Angel Reese is trying to say, like, I belong in the same class and on the same level as Kaitlyn Clark. And look at the impact that I've made on the game of women's basketball. But when you look at what Kaitlyn Clark has done compared to what Angel Reese has done in terms of the impact. And I'm not saying Kaitlyn Clark's the greatest basketball player I've ever seen. But for the game of women's basketball, she's the most important. Like, I grew up loving Diana Taurasi. No disrespect to Diana Taurasi who's done everything that, like, you can and then some in women's basketball at UConn and then in the WNBA. Kaitlyn Clark has brought more eyeballs and more people to this TV set, to the games that would never watch women's basketball before and got so many people talking about their game. And there's always been a jealousy with former stars or older stars and Kaitlyn Clark. And it's, oh, what about me? And Angel Reese is basically saying, oh, what about me? And she said it publicly. Like, I want people to know that I'm a big reason why they're watching as well. All right. You may be a reason they're watching, but not to the level that Kaitlyn Clark brings people to the TV set.

8-8-7-10 for ISN, 8-8-7-10, 44-76. JT in Atlanta wants to talk about the ridiculous Ryan Clark comments to RG3 about the Kaitlyn Clark Angel Reese beep. JT, what's happening?

Hey, Zach. Hey, first off, I want to say, man, I appreciate you taking this topic on, right? And hitting it head on and not being afraid to say what is what, right? And I think, you know, no matter what color you are or whatever, you can still speak the truth. And the truth is, Ryan Clark was way out of bounds.

And Ryan Clark often acts like he's an authority on the black experience. And this is just another example of that where he's wrong. RG3 made me use the wrong word in hate, like you said.

I don't know if hate is the right word. But, like I said. But it's not that far off. Put it this way.

It's not like it's like, oh, my goodness gracious, he used the word that I can't believe that he used. And it has nothing to do with this situation, you know? Right.

And this is where I would go. It's like, since when was that a problem for opponents to hate each other? I mean, we didn't have a problem when Jimmy Butler said that he didn't like or he didn't use the word hate. But he basically said, I don't like him.

Right. Like, I don't I don't rock with this dude. It ain't fun with me.

He's not I don't I don't play with him. You know, I mean, you know what, JT, I haven't said this. I haven't thought this until you said it.

But so many people are new and right. Like, I'll admit it. I parachute in to women's basketball, like to watch Kaitlyn Clark.

I think that right. We're trying to get equality now in the world where like men and women right on the same level in sports. And that's always a big topic conversation. If this happened in the NBA. I don't think the commentary gets to this level like where the NBA I'm saying, yeah, I want to see more hatred. But then you see some hatred in the women's game and it's like, oh, it has to be taken to a different level. I think we still a lot of us still don't know how to a hold the women's game to the same standard as we would talk about it with the men's game and men's sports.

And I agree, because I think when I look at it, I try to examine it through a sports win and how I would do anything. And when I saw the foul and I understand it was a hard foul, there definitely was a little push there. But you push first, right?

She saw you put her teammate. So therefore, it's all fair. It's all square. There's no it's not fighting those. That wasn't a fighting move. So if I was your teammate and we were out on the playground or something, I would say, get up and let's play ball. You're not going to fight about that. That's not something worth fighting for. And so I would have said that to my friend who's a male or I would say that to a reason is acting crazy on, you know, acting wild.

She wants to fight her and acting like that's the worst thing that's ever happened to her. Like, well, let's get up and play ball. And so I appreciate the phone call.

Thanks so much. And I think you bring up a good point. Like I've said this about the NBA before I hate in the NBA when someone charges at another person and it's almost they're fighting the air. And it's the hold me back, bro type of moment. That's what that was with Angel Reese. She was going at Kaitlyn Clark, but you knew she was never going to shove Kaitlyn Clark. You knew she wasn't going to put her hands on Kaitlyn Clark. So as I would say to the men, I'll say to Angel Reese, like, if you're going to do that act and you're going to lunge at someone, you know, I'm not saying you got to punch her.

But if you really wanted to, you could have. And that's the thing to me. I'm going to say that about the men. I'll say that about the women. I hate that with athletes when they try to act tough and they try to intimidate and they try to like lunge. And Kaitlyn Clark was like, bleep this.

I'll walk away from it. And I think it was Cheryl Swoopes who said this the other day. I think it was her when when I was watching some of the commentary.

She she. Yeah, it was her. She said, oh, Kaitlyn Clark needs to stand on business. What business is Kaitlyn Clark needs to stand on? It was a routine basketball play.

There was no malicious intent. She's trying to prevent the layup. She fouled her. So Angel restarts walking towards her.

She should walk away. It's just Kaitlyn Clark. When it comes with other women basketball players that are accomplished, it's jealousy.

And I know a lot of them are more accomplished than Kaitlyn Clark, but they don't bring the impact to the game of women's basketball that she does. All right. Carlos with the K. I got to ask you something has nothing to do with this situation because I'm kind of done with this conversation. I want to move on. I know you could be a delusional Giants fan.

Of course. You know, you made a bet with me where you owe me dinner. It was what, Saquon Barkley, you said, wasn't going to play seven and a half game. But originally you said five and a half or something like that, too. And I still completely got blown out of that because I was in my charity mood of the year.

I wanted to beat you, but I wanted to beat you with class. You should have gave me 15 and a half. Yeah. Well, that may have been a little bit too high because Saquon does have the inclination to miss a few games here and there. The Packers have submitted a proposal, a revised proposal to ban the tush push from our mirror of my sports update, prohibiting any pushing or pulling of the ball carrier anywhere on the field. NFL owners will discuss and likely vote on it this week. You're OK with the push, though. Packers are doing the Lord's work.

I am 1000 percent OK with the Eagles beat you that badly. That you now need to say ban the tush push when the Bills right runner, they can't run it effectively. And then you have Sean McDermott calling it an unsafe play when no one, no one with all the data that they have, have ever been injured. You know what this rule is not only banning the tush push. You're two yards short of a first down and the linemen come in and try to push the running back. That's not going to be allowed anymore with the way that this rule was revised. If it's passed.

Good. It's not a football play. You want to play rugby, go to New Zealand. This is not a football play. Then why not? Why isn't it a football play? You might as well just pick the running back up, put them on your back and take them over the end zone with you. Yeah.

And guess what? It's terrible. If it was that easy to do, then the 31 other teams would have no problem doing it. The other teams in the league struggle with it. You're just annoyed and I will defend the Eagles here because I was a Patriot fan and right the Colts back in the day bitched about defensive pass interference and change the rules.

It just people can't stop it and it drives them nuts. And the Packers lost the Eagles not once but twice this year. And now the Packers are crying. Like the little babies for a proud franchise and a gold standard franchise. They're acting like a little bunch of babies. That's what the Green Bay Packers are doing. Allow the tush push, allow the offensive lineman, the fullbacks, allow everyone to push. All right. And guess what? If you're going to take this away from the Eagles, you're giving them more motivation and they'll still find a way with their talent to beat you. Joe Theismann joins us next. It is the Zach Gelb show.
