The Christian Car Guy Radio Show
The candy is will you Christian radio show to rock 'n' roll on the Christian Car Guy.
Should I know you probably always wanted to be a rock star. Well, today is your chance Bible. As you might imagine his full of rock stars seriously, but today in order to sing rock 'n' roll. Let's learn from the original rock 'n' roll or herself. Her name is Mary no not Mary from Peter Paul and Mary no not married. It was there.
When they rolled the stone away, although that would seem like it was rock 'n' roll situation right there at the two and I'll think that's any coincidence, or the Mary that was there when the rock was born for the married saw the rock rolled away when her brother was raised from the dead. Not that rock 'n' roll merit this rock 'n' roll.
It was the first Mary were all those others got their name, course, most know her as Miriam because Miriam is Hebrew for what Mary and so maybe you recall the story of Miriam. Maybe you don't. But I learned so much more about her today that I ever had a dream I connected so many dots in the Bible and has everything to do with rock 'n' roll and has everything to do with rock stars and I promise you that you're going to see how God is been making your rockstar your whole life and how he made this particular Mary such a rockstar that to this day it's the most popular name. End of sentence male-female. Whatever you want talk about. You look for a popular name you can't out popular Mary first name middle name. Whatever they do they go with Mary.
Why is it what Mary II was actually just asking that question this week on why what's the deal with all the Mary's in the New Testament and I said well I bet they were called Mary back then.
I bet they were actually Jewish girl so they were Hebrew for Mary. Not always, Miriam, or that come from well I kind of knew the story of Miriam and then I started researching all my soul.
First off, I meant to tell you some of the stuff comes out of the midrash, some of it comes out of the Talmud, but this is what the Jews teach about Miriam, and I know that some of it is legend.
Perhaps. But listen to how it connects the dots of other things that are clearly in the Bible so just work with me here a minute because you can hear things that you may have never heard before, but on my mind is just totally blow.
First of all, Miriam was a prophetess in the Bible says she was a prophet so we know that on good authority that absolutely she was well. The midrash teaches that she is seven years older than Moses and when she was five years old, was the first time that God came to her and at this point in time.
Her parents on Ramen and I think Dr. bed was her name. They had divorced because he didn't want to have any kids as they would be killed by the Pharaoh right up. She was name bitter by the way Mary means better. Mary means better because it was the bitterness and slavery so her parents had divorced, so they would have any more kids.
And so it five years old.
This prophetess goes to her dad who was one of the leaders of Israel of time and says dad. You are doing worse in the Pharaoh because if you don't have children. The liver can't be borne, and he takes her wisdom and he marries it again and it begins everybody begins to marry again and shortly thereafter you know the story. Moses was born well after Moses is born right then you got the situation and the bulrushes that would bat and in the Bible tells you that Miriam was there, but there's part of the story that really connects much more dots for me that according to the town, it says that Pharaoh's daughter had a form of leprosy and the reason she was going down to the water was because the Nile God was supposed to heal her.
From this leprosy well when she goes down the water in the now God's going to heal her. Instead uploads this basket with clearly wrapped in the blanket of the Hebrew child and when to she picks up this basket. She is healed by the child and she knows that that's from God and she's like oh you're the man at the picture and so immediately. Miriam was hanging on the bulrushes she comes over and says hey good news. I know the perfect made for this young boy that just delivered you from leprosy, which by the way, you know the Bible teaches that Pharaoh's daughter was there during the Passover was saved by the Passover and then later was converted to Judaism now add to that what it what she had actually experience for the next time you find Miriam in the Bible is she's there right after the Red Sea parts and so you see the connection to Miriam water. She's there in the bulrushes.
Now she's there when the Red Sea parts and the sort of a picture baptismal point Paul and Moses breaks out in the song, I hear you got some serious rock and rolling going on and what is Miriam do. She grabs the timbering tambourine and she creates her own song for which this is well documented. You know, there in the Bible. In Exodus, so in first Corinthians 10. There's strange though verse there that I've never paid any attention to, and I paid attention to what it said about Jesus, but I never thought about what else it says it says I don't want to be unaware, brethren, that our forefathers were all under the cloud as they passed through the sea and they were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea, and all ate the same spiritual food which was the manner I and they drank the same spiritual drink, for they were drinking from a spiritual rock which followed them and that rock was Christ of the Jews teach that that rock that was following them in the desert was Miriam's well and when Moses originally struck the rock in Horeb, when it later he got in trouble about the bat. When we originally struck it, according what they say. This rock started to follow them everywhere they went in the desert and Miriam was the one that followed, and she would sing to this rock and when she sang now you get the picture. This is a Rolling Rock so this is rock 'n' roll.
And then she's singing rock 'n' roll. I'm just saying let literally of the situation and not only does the water come out just a little bit. The Jews teach that this thing looks like a beehive and all this is documented in Christian Car Guy by way this thing can you look like a beehive and when when she would sing to it. It didn't just bring a little bit of water. It gushed out like a geyser. It shot way up in the air so here you have this rock following married now. That's what the midrash teaches, but it just so happens if you look in Deuteronomy chapter 20 and 21 when Miriam dies, it has to be in Kadesh and right after she dies. No more water that that say it's because of Miriam.
They do say there's no more water Jews teach because when Miriam died she couldn't sing the rock and and when she couldn't sing to the rock.
No water. And everybody gets thirsty. This is that what sets up Moses is striking the rock because think about.
As you'll find out over a number. Chapter 21 that after that after Moses is get gets in trouble for striking the rock. Then there told know you're supposed to sing to the well, you're not supposed to strike it in any remember even said Moses was supposed to speak well. Miriam was singing she was a rock 'n' roll star and she was singing to this rock and so look over and they never chapter 21. I'm just saying it all this by the way that my website you can check it out.
These people were singing to the rock now, how many Psalms are about singing to a rock. Think about it.
I mean, just think about how many dots this connects about the rock and sing them. Maybe that's all legend. Okay, but it's interesting to me that the Jews are teaching about. We know who the rock is now, is this your if you're like me and it is: oh my goodness this is so awesome. What's the point Robbie what is this had to do with cars where here's the thing God made her such a rock star. Her name is. To this day honored almost like one of the greatest names of all time. Mary Mary if the that saw the other stone all away. Was it any coincidence that Mary was there for the woman at the well, think about your day how is God made you a rock star will that we come back much more in we are learning how to be there.
If you reduce considered the word rock 'n' roll was bound to catch up in Jasper's though now that it would it would Jefferson starship.
There was a rock 'n' roll exist. It was bound to catch on as it's getting thing to it and I were talk about Miriam the prophetess today and actually how God and it if you want to. Here's a connection with cars God on will who like in the book of Esther who God chooses to honor he honors and and partly I know that Miriam finished well is look at what God is done with her name versus a name like Hitler some others that I can think of that you note, you don't hear a lot of Benedict Arnold's anymore. You know, that's just big through that name out, but let literally to God is done with her name and my thigh save my favorite story about Miriam, which is very clearly in the Bible. I fit my's my favorite one has to do with when she went awry and you might remember their numbers.
I think it's number 20 where she starts murmuring about her big brother and like a big sister got her little brother in you. You have those of us, like me, you have to sit big sisters I get this completely. She's like what you doing bearing that Cushite woman and she just gets Austin.
She gets off track and she think she's you know some she's not. And you know God slaps her down puts leprosy on her that you do see that be either the interesting thing that this story about the Pharaoh and daughter, but now all the sudden Miriam's on his got leprosy and Aaron who loved his sister. He cries out to God, I mean look at the passion that you can see in this prayer that Moses lays on God like, don't you know don't do this to my sister you know you he loved her and God said, this is kind of tough but it's really good. He said even if her father spit in her face. She would have to go outside the camp for seven days and so Miriam has to go outside the camp with her leprosy for seven days in the course them. God heals her through Moses, but the beauty of that is when is God sent you outside the camp for seven not to punish but to bring back intimacy right. She went out into the wilderness and I'm just guessing. Knowing Miriam in the way that she would sing that there was some rock 'n' roll going on out there. She was saying to the one that she really did love and the one that she really did know, and she was restored to that intimacy and how I know that is, look what he did with her name and look how the Jews reverse effect. If you go to a satyr nowadays. They not only set the table for Elisha. They set the table from your base in a place for Miriam and in her cup is water why you think connection there at an do you think really you know, just as you was in some coincidence that it was a Mary that was the first person to see Jesus after his resurrection, that there was a stone that rolled it think it with some coincidence that it was a Mary whose brother was raised from the dead, you know you can say that if you think that I minutes okay. I can't prove the thing I'm saying but that's the beauty of it, I can just sit there and ponder and go but look how God raised the name of Fort Wright. This guys name Buick is a guys name Chrysler right water body the Dodge brothers, Louis Chevrolet. These were names. These were names and today you know God is is is use those as a picture, especially Henry Ford. My opinion of he was trying to help people be able to afford a car. Now he had his bat in a month. I don't think Miriam was a big fan.
Henry Ford.
She Henry was little Emma submitted so that when the government too good for him there. But nonetheless there so that that's the question and Jerry I and let you talk all shows what you what you thought I was just kind of in a company and it did this this whole concept in God Way, Jesus Christ is interwoven through it all and do the Old Testament and then also when you start looking at so many times we we don't understand we look at history. I think part of it is, we can look at history and all the sudden all those dots that don't connect to the biblical record starts connecting in all those questions we may have been history dams get answered in the Bible, not sometimes, but anytime we dig deep enough that you know did this whole this morning did this his whole story about Miriam and know what that should just that. Just hearts and in the morning, just dig deeper into that that aspect of God's word and it really does. The night I should say that again all this references to what I'm talking about is a Christian car guy.com of the original rockstar but also we've got an episode of Christian car guy theater coming up river rock to rock's role in this morning and is that so that's can come up in the last segment see on this that but also make reference to the you see how sometimes God allows things in her life for her. Actually, in the case of Miriam inflicts us with things in order to regain the intimacy and I see this with the Jesus labor love and and probably start the story and I need to finish it but on the other side of the break, but what happened was a few weeks ago. You know this lady that we'd help previously now or transmission, and it was way more than we could do is manufacture car was finished and had a $3000 bill and it seem like all my word how we can help her get her car back and so I prayed and and you know I thought God was leading me to go on the air and ask people for donations asked people to pray for this lady, which obviously did and obviously pray for believing it.
One sent not a penny. Nothing came in for Valentine's Day that's an and stuff poorly.
The but this time nothing was, and I was trying to understand you good Mike, what's the difference this time I thought it was just like those other situations or to find out what happened with this Miriam which I don't believe, nonetheless, we got that river rock, retaliation, sort of the following, not so much more Christian car a today show what's inside that rock 'n' roll was the original rock 'n' roll are of Miriam, but also what is it paint a picture for us here, the Christian car guys show are you at home is. It's a wonderful thing maybe ever commented a story that is brought to mind. We would love to hear our phone number to call in his 866-34-TRUTH 878 840 need to call quick the because river rock retaliation is coming up right after this episode arrived after the segment so 866-348-7884 so we are talking right before about how to sometimes like Miriam God sends us out in the wilderness right and she was sent out the wilderness she had leprosy. This is not looking good and I have this Jesus labor love applicant. She needed $3000 for this transmission. I prayed I'd ask.
I'd like on come on the arrows. I was just like what you what are we doing here you know not my God you just I didn't want to face the problem solution. You know I called her said I didn't. We didn't get anything and she said will you call the man that sold my car and see if he'll help me some somehow someway to let me make payments or no and I just honestly should've called immediately but my heart was broken arms like ice. I don't know what to do.
I just so I split that off well. I put it off for maybe a week or so.
And God came knocking at my heart like you need to you need to call that man need to call okay all right God's. I call the man that was holder car for $3000 nested. You know what, what's going on with her car in and he said oh she picked the correct instrument. I went because oh yeah, her uncle came through for her in a huge way. I can even begin to tell you what is meant for that family.
This uncle to step in and to do this in an you know it was just like all my work on my word. That was what God had in mind the whole time and you know when we jump in the gun for that person doesn't been outside the camp seven days just yet. You know what and so I left her this.
You know how cool is it that I cannot navigate the Jesus labor love without his help, walking day by day, minute by minute. If I'm not in intimacy with him because don't get me wrong, I believe that a lot a lot of times we are exactly the light that Jesus used in order to help somebody down the road to see him better and go in intimacy with but there's other times. Now he's got some masculine and and you gotta wait on him and in a sometimes a gotta be outside the camp for seven days Roger and sometimes you know don't realize what God how God is working in their situations.
Really, who was getting the blessing, was it this young lady that was in a crisis with a car was God blessing her uncle and grow in her uncle.
Through this process we don't know or even the man at the service center that that was holding the car he was able to see Jesus Christ. Yet he knew it was Jesus labor calling and he was he was delighted to tell me you know what what happened and you know it just is beyond cool debate to see how it you know we work on different ones every week and every week he does it different and he's got stuff, but the neat thing is that you you need that intimacy that Miriam had and I got a learn how to sing to the rock because obviously that singing brought forth, not just a little flow of water.
It brought forth, gushing at it you know of Geiser and in that pictures this is a beautiful thing and then I do believe that that's what God has in store for each of us in different different rockets a different flow of water different type of water.
God also show something and something I think for me I think God is reach out his hand and let me out of that situation because as I get to the point where I think I'm more in control than I am in.
I think we can get through this. If I help God's gun is a pull me out and let me just see how what he has in store is not always an easy thing to do anything even more difficult to sing of that circumstance at and that's the cool thing II just didn't float away that Moses clearly is told. You have got to seeing to the well. It it and and think how many people sing to the rock every single week in churches across the world and and and and and there sing into the well right there.
There sing into the thing that can gush forth and out of that comes everlasting life. For me is it's it's phenomenal. It's been in their all time.
It's all over the Psalms, God's good he is and so again, think about what is God done to honor somebody that you know and and that brings up another whole series of stories you know what is done for the man that God wants to honor or the woman that God wants to honor you ever going to a funeral where the just never stopped coming and they never stop talking pastor courts when he passed away here in Winston-Salem North Carolina.
He was a pastor Calvary Baptist Church you know course, they couldn't have it in funeral home because he knew it wasn't to be big enough and so they opened up the church which he knows how many thousands of people. It it would hold the point in time that that this happened but ill people came from, you know, big time names all over Christendom came to that funeral, but the lines went on and on and on because you know God honors his people absolutely, and he will give you guys to see this or some of it steps out in your mind that you saw God on a one time you're sitting you think about it and I think I can always see what one of the first times I went own what a mission trip to Jamaica. One of our ministers Danny Steinhauer when I went on that first trip with Danny. This is been 1112 years ago when I saw all the people in Jamaica and the churches the respect they showed to him and honor. They showed him.
It was just humbling to me because the impact or eight or nine years going on the wider went down there that he had made, and I thought that was you know it was always the message sent to Denny about it is always in a just sorted did monad didn't want to be about him. But you know what that was. It was a moment of honor because I sow that the impact how God was able to use them.
Not that they were worshiping Danny they would. They were given him honor for what he was doing for them and I think at this, they just always stuck out in my mind is from you soon.
My daughter went to Africa on a mission trip with a man that had been there on there for 20 years and they had his name is Chuck peters but they had a special name for him and that like top of some because you know of the respect that they were on her in a fruit that that he had come back time and time again. Apparently he goes for five times every year and you know it.
There is honor their all sorts of ways that God just that that's so cool and then not then then you've met this couple. Much of Monday and Manuel the village they came from Muslim and a village in Zimbabwe.
You know their family father was that the king of that village and also Dr. Pruitt was when the first missionaries and from Christianity. There would honor him all of their all of the mesh of Monday kids that were being born were named American names and there were the names of Dr. Truitt's kids is to show honor to him what he had brought you think about that. That's a legacy that just continues to live only known and how God was able to plant in their and Dr. Pruitt's name is still held high and celebrated what he brought to that village. Some of the other people in his mission minded ways and staff assist. That's just cool.
So what we talked about a few weeks ago was that son is means note the family name builder think of God is used the name Mary how he is used. You know the name David and have all these different names that continue to be honored, but in the cool way you know you can honor your grandfather by naming your middle name after son and my son named his first son after my wife's father, who never had he died when my wife was seven years old.
What that meant to my wife. I can't even begin to tell you but it was a matter of honoring her father which you know died when she was sent and you know is usually not the big things on the Internet is a big thing and it's a name you okay with but it wasn't sitting was a some kid got suspended kind of money are like a big celebration out of just given honor. So speaking of rock stars.
There are a lot of those rock stars river rock retaliation. Sort of an episode on Halloween there some new characters coming your way to stay tuned for Chicago theater coming up river rock retaliation theater tally previously on river rock restoration judge Elvira Meriwether sent FBI agent Kent and state policeman dribble packing when they tried to expedite Lazarus and Brett.
These two new converts in the strength of the kingdom of God growing in our little town of river rock, Satan's principality and demon over Colorado has gathered her strongest demons Zenia Takashi and Saddam to bring held Samara Elvira, Meriwether and our friends in river rock Eustis is bragging is just making it worse on ancient when you told when you told we call river not only their own bacon, who are boys or no one to mess with you really like that the sheriff only sees a fraction in the spirit realm.
