Hidden treasures of the 119th Psalm. So we are going on a treasure hunt and the gold we are seeking in this treasure hunt is actually the face of God.

Pure light. So join us taking this deep dive mining with King David in the 119th Psalm. So on today's mining expedition we are going to begin the mining of the foundation of our house and as we talked about the letter Bet which this whole next section, the next eight verses are in the letter Bet section and they all start with the letter Bet and Bet or Bet in Hebrew means house and so we got to lay this foundation of our house and again it's really cool when you think about Jesus talked about this very thing so as we dig in here we are going to talk about this verse which is verse nine which reads in the King James version wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way by taking heed thereto according to thy word. Well as we talked about yesterday in the overview of Bet that Bet has everything to do with building a house and so when it comes to building a house the good news is we have words from Jesus to help us along this way which is very interesting how the Sermon on the Mount does line up with Deuteronomy four through six as well as the 119th Psalm.

I guess that's not too shocking but therefore what Jesus said in the Sermon on the Mount 724 says therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine and doeth them I will liken him to a wise man which build his house upon the rock. I mean do you see how this lines up so well with the Aleph and the Bet because again the wise man being the son right that we talked about so much in Aleph and then now we got to build a house and he's going to build it on the rock which is what Jesus said that anybody who hears it which has to do with keeping it and then anybody that doeth it. Well doeth it means here interestingly again it helps so much to me and I put the link there at the podcast notes to Deuteronomy four because when you read Deuteronomy four you're going to see how many times it says take heed to yourselves. Take heed, take heed and here you know the psalmist says take heed there to according to your word. In other words here we're actually doing something along the lines of what it's saying in the word and I love the heart of the psalmist as the verse starts right where he says essentially you know wherewithal which means how in the world can a young man cleanse his way right and the way here again is that Derek and which is where we want to be the path of life so to speak.

That's Jesus himself is in the way but it's a beautiful picture back to what the very first verse in the psalm said is blessed are those undefiled in the way who walk in the law of the Lord right well interestingly here in bet we once again are in the way it says how can a young man cleanse his way. Right going back to the very first verse and lining up again with the first verse of bet because now we're going to build this house house and we're going to take heed to ourselves according to thy word. And again as we've talked about at the beginning the word word is translated two different ways especially now that we're moving into bed because he's going to use it a couple three times in this section so it's important we take note that this time that we're going to take heed this young man is trying to cleanse his way is going to take heed is going to do it according to his debar. Right which is the word that starts with a dollar which is we're going to get a lot to hear very shortly when we get to that whole section so taking heed to the word is like the wise man who build his house on the rock that he not only heard these things that Jesus said but he did them. So I think it's worth noting that the word word debar in this particular case is significant when it comes to houses period because the letters of the word like in all Hebrew are drawing a picture of something. Okay because that's the way that letters work in Hebrew is their pictures and so that first picture of debar which is the Dalit which we'll get to that section but it is usually a door or a servant and they work kind of the same way. Here we have this doorway to the bar you hear that B sound well that debar is the B is the bet which means house right so we got a door to the house and understand that we're going to take heed on to this door to the house which again we know is Jesus right I mean you know that the word debar that Jesus is the word and the word is Jesus. But don't miss the last letter which is this race and this site has to do with starting something or doing something or the head of something the beginning like you got to do something in order to show that you have understanding. And so this word debar itself that the psalmist used speaks so very much to the verse itself that we got to take heed to the word himself meaning Jesus but also all that's written in his words. Beautiful thing you know I don't know if you're like me but I just hardly wait for the next verse in the hundred nineteen Psalm as we are exploring these verses in the bet or house and understanding or doing category.
