So, today on Bible Wonders, I'm going to wonder about what is real. It's an interesting thing when you just do a search in the King James Bible for the word real, you're going to find it's not there. So, you got to go searching for synonyms to figure out what word might they use.

It's not in many translations of the Bible, the word real or actual. And so, I started to think what that might be. And I finally came across this word indeed. And indeed is a really cool word in Hebrew. It's an Aleph and a Bet and a Lamed, which is the father, essentially, that's the yud coming down with the Torah, you know, touching the finger of man and the father figure kind of thing. And then a Bet, which means essentially a house or in this case, the kingdom.

And so, you got the father and his kingdom. And then you have this Lamed, which means love or learning. Well, that's a fascinating word to think what is real is God, the father's love. I mean, but the word indeed, that would be the letters that are involved. Yet the Jews, when they put that word together, they say it words, you know, essentially in English, it would mean indeed.

But the same letters spell the word mourn, which is a fascinating thing to think about. And the thing I kept on thinking about was what Rashi had said about God and his answer to the Israelites when they were complaining about, you know, how could he be so far away for so many years while they were under the lash of the Egyptians and the children dying and all that. And Rashi had said the most real thing in the world is God. And so, as you begin to think about this is just a phenomenal irony of ironies that we can't see God, right?

We, for the most part, we can hear him and faith comes by hearing, right? If the most real thing in the universe is God and you can't see him, that is definitely an irony. And as we talked about in another episode, you know, closed betray and that they are deception and that whole theme in Genesis is you can't believe what you can see.

And when you think about this, it points back to the fact that the realist thing in the universe I can't see. However, you know, God's mourning over the curse and the betrayal and all that leaves us in this position of where we are that it takes Jesus Christ's blood as we become in our sanctification walk more and more pure of heart. We can get back to Matthew 5, you know, when Jesus said, blessed are the pure in heart for they will see God.

Nobody else gets to see him. That's a fascinating thing to wonder about. That as you become pure in heart, you get more and more opportunities to see God. And again, I've heard it said, and I believe it's true that so many times we see God through the things that he does through the love in a child, through the redemption, through the joy. And so it kind of gets back to these names of God. And I know I was going to do the names of God part two today, but before we do that, I thought, well, let's just figure out what is real. And we can ponder today on the irony of ironies that the realest thing in all of what we know is somebody we can't see.
