Looking for that perfect Christmas gift for the family? Why not a chicken? Stick a bow on top, put the chicken under the tree, and who knows, you may even have a couple eggs to fry up for breakfast Christmas morning.

Give the gift that keeps on clucking. A chicken. Okay, maybe it's not the perfect gift for your family, but it is the perfect gift for a poor family in Asia. A chicken can break the cycle of poverty for a poor family. Yes, a chicken.

A chicken's eggs provide food and nourishment for a family, and they can sell those eggs at the market for income. When you donate a chicken or any other animal through Gospel for Asia, 100% of what you give goes to the field. And the best gift of all, when Gospel for Asia gives a poor family an animal, it opens the door to the love of Jesus. So give the perfect gift for a family in Asia this Christmas. Give them a chicken.

Call 866-WINASIA. Or to see chickens and other animals to donate, go to CritterCampaign.org. What a wonderful devotional idea. How did the Father view Christmas and what all was going on with that? And the way I can relate that possibly, there's two different things. One is my son had to have open chest surgery. His sternum had attached to his backbone when he was born, and so we had to wait until he was about nine, and they had to open up his chest and take his sternum off his backbone. And I can remember standing at the operating room doors as you would say goodbye to your son, like your nine-year-old son, and he's going off to have this unbelievable surgery. And can you imagine that father's heart as he's saying goodbye to Jesus on that Christmas morning, so to speak, however that worked out, that he was letting him go? And there was another way that I want to possibly think about that is that I love to celebrate Passover satyrs. And one of the ways that I do that is a group of guys and I actually slaughter a Passover lamb specifically for the reason that we want to get a feel of what all is involved in the actual sacrifice that God went through. And every time, if you've ever held that knife, and I know this may sound weird, but it's so meaningful to me personally that I've held that knife and thought about what Abraham felt like that day when he had the knife. And he'd probably slaughtered a number of sheep in his life, who knows how many, and now he's got the knife at his son's throat. And this was on Mount Moriah, by the way. And so when you look at where Golgotha is, as opposed to where Mount Moriah actually is, you're going to find that, oh my goodness, it's like at the same place, and oh my goodness, this sheep that ended up with the crown of thorns in its head, you know, it was locked up in the thorns. And the father's painting a picture, not just for Isaac to go through, I mean for Abraham and Isaac to go through this test, he was painting a picture of what the father would experience at Christmas.
