Christian Car Guy
Now today's episode previously tied his right to see what appears to be this way.
Jim is going parents and grandmother along with will is like lashing behind Jimmy. I will here see describe pretty your parents drive while talking all good cell phone is reckless endangerment of what you have to say for yourself charge out any part why did you answer the clown writing you men all deserve some answers and Jimmy will be with you momentarily and I need some time so excuse us for a few minutes, Jimmy's mom makes quick work of taking Jimmy back to my private office, men all stand around looking dumbfounded at each other and grandma just shrugged her shoulders and now height is three Jimmy feeling cornered and overwhelmed angrily stomps in the office with close behind. Meanwhile, outside Jimmy's dad used to send me whom reason amongst themselves with pastor Jack drives up to join him so is yeah I understand uses. I just don't understand what's got he's basically a pretty good kid when he answered the phone. I had no idea he was driving sure something will mean you got it buddy didn't charge for the part. I'm sorry don't mean to seem greedy pastor Jack chart for the parts to keep in business you know I understand we all have to make a living.
I was just concerned about Jimmy. I mean, he ran into Mr. Blake's headstone in the cemetery knocked it over and Mrs. Blake as you know is nearly 100 sheep was flowers and the little metal face every Sunday and Jimmy flattened, freight thankfully of course Jimmy was okay but then he just took off. Meanwhile the carports are chiming in with their two cents about Jimmy's behavior. We know that Jimmy took off, made a quick getaway like to give him a good send to Mont Jimmy to save time, attention Jimmy great way strategy to admit problem. I felt like my windshield wipers were coming when we hit that headstone. I think I lost some of my fluid. I notice you lost some of your fluid to mosey motor oil say is they will also say that I'm pretty bad about that oil go you might say it's got all surprised and nuts are still with us. Are you still rolling you nuts are you still there.
Talk to was Jack faith in life. May the Saints preserve us lads will withdraw all way a bit of a rough ride, but we still write and today it's all cool in the shade. You know it takes more than this to shake up the notes.
Although I must admit Jimmy is more nuts than we are is not right French offender's Jimmy is doing, like Paul, file name. She's crazy Max. We just have to mom with toxins while everyone exchanges opinions. Jimmy is sitting in the office rent, and looking for feeling a boatload of emotions while pacing sits down, Jimmy. Can you please look at me. Thank you. I know you said I'm not angry with you. I'm really not.
I'm just trying to sort this out all right. I don't have all the answers, but I honestly just want to help you. I know the Lord can help us figure it out okay yes I don't know mom and myself to some people get out understands and execute, understand any of them can even pray about it, Jimmy. We all make mistakes were all human. That's why we need a Savior.
Your dad and I both make mistakes believing can you tell me how start not like chiming may not like it Talk about it. Well it all started when I told neither will I will really tell him a lot. Just let them believe something that wasn't true. That's kind of like a lie. Guess okay this is start Jimmy I'm going to share with you about a time when I told my mom to grandma. She never did tell my dad that she had a talk with me just like I'm talking with you right now you do well. It was when I was 17 years old and when I look back I realize that I was really a crossroad. I had made the choice to see grandma. I told her I was going to a youth meeting at church and you didn't go no, I decided to meet a guy not your dad, but he was a guy I thought I was crazy in love with crazy was the operative word. My parents didn't approve of him but I just decided to do it my way. I just ignore that voice in my head that was trying to warn me what happened.
Well, he took me to a party was a lot of drinking and the police came the police yup fortunately I was able to get out the back door and ran home as fast as I could. I was a wreck and grandma met me at the door and she asked me if you been meeting at church. Mom really yeah yeah your friend Christie call and ask what you were because she was supposed to share your testimony tonight.
She was very disappointed that you weren't there.
Mom honey, you can tell a lot but the truth will be in your favor was drinking came to get out and across from Katie and I suggest you go to pray this member. The way the world is the Broadway dad is everlasting life with grandma and got to keep his I met your dad a few months later God's way road less traveled that one line. Messed up my life. Yeah, one might messed up everything for me to Jimmy explains the whole story to his mom let him think that he did a more expensive job on Eustis's Corolla and how that led to all the rest of that messed up day Jimmy, let me just offer some of my notes okay okay first of all, I learned the hard way that our choices have consequences. We all make bad choices.
At times, but we know that Jesus will forgive us if we tell him sorry.
He said he would never leave us or forsake us to believe that don't you.
But it's important to learn from our mistakes. Hebrews 21 says you must listen very carefully to the truths we have heard, or we may drift away from. We have to be careful with our choices or we can drift away from God's truth one compromise at a time you can begin to get loose in your living and the choices you make.
Just like the one yeah the Jeep started wobbling the lug nuts and I wrote much of a hurry thing right is tight but the lug nuts back on the wheel didn't type type is right is we need to stay tight in the word of God about the choices we make in life.
Even the little ones can add up to make the wrong choices financially crash mom that is pretty cool terrible is right. Yes and asked for forgiveness. Thanks mom that tight right amen now radiator to Journal lost somewhere. She disqualified easily fraud related to his mother's humble guilt to make it right because I made him rot.
Why my way. Oh, driving at night with no lights driver optional. What you may wonder about that. We have Jim McBride for tech leader for the anonymous likely Rodrigo audit on all its atomic cells. Good working to get to that just a minute, but we are live so we would love for you to call in today with any question or comment, maybe you have something to ask Jim because Juergen would be astounded by this technology.
866-34-TRUTH 87884 866-34-TRUTH truth and also today talk about your Highway to the danger zone. How would you like to try to clean up a 2002 Lincoln Blackwood for spring cleaning.
If you've ever spent a lot of time on an older black car you know what I'm talking about were to talk about that today and an update on our Jesus labor love car repair labor for single moms and widows. Last week I told you about a lady in Nevada really had a struggle special needs child. And I gotta tell you how the Lord came through for her through a lot of you actually this week so very thankful for that last segment. What if OnStar this you know you got, what big brother watching out for you. What if you could give you driver recommendation to your insurance company or maybe not work out that coming up in our last segment today and again I am so excited to have that really the highway to the danger zone Jim McBride on the season for tech leader with how to write how you say that Jim autonomous correctly, there is a video that you guys are done about this Ford focus that you took out in the dark, no lights, no driver well the driver was, there, and I've noticed that you guys you post a lot of videos I've never seen one that had the amount of hits that this one has apparently guys really hit a nerve with this car like to have fun when were out testing part of her job doing what we do and when we make videos we try to make an educational so the point of the video you're talking about. We wanted to show how our main sensor on the car worked and it's basically laser beams in the near infrared. Your eyes can barely turn out like so our thought was, well, it turned out the light youth night vision goggles and so people how the laser beam sweep across the ground. The Colonel's word is, is this really cool and by the way, that video is as well as a lot of information on this vehicle but essentially how far away this technology is that we cars can actually see better week and it would it would appear how far away is this technology and in will they come to bring about a piece at a time.
Well, okay, so that there yes I would agree that cars are better than we can.
Because the winter inside the car, you know you have line of sight obstructions from you on the pill or not be pillar parts of sheet-metal and you don't have eyes in the back your head so the sensors you see in that you do have 360 coverage and we have multiple copies so that's one huge advantage. We do have an you in terms of being able to be in the dark as were talking about here. You are point on, the card uses many fencing modes as we can that were really robust and redundant reliable. We do use cameras and radar and laser system called lidar we put them all together when were driving through scene effectively. The way it works is 3 million times and secondly fire one of the laser beam to wait for an echo and when the echo comes back we reconstructed and 3D image around the car and the car knows exactly where it is everything else moving around the car well you know is for those of us were used. The old navigation systems that came out a few years ago and maybe even the one that's on your phone or whatever occasionally it thinks there's a road where there is no road so you know it was kind of a scary thought as I was think about this text.
But if they are using.
You know the information that they have on where roads are, because road strength all the time and sometimes so I know you guys are way ahead of that but I think you could at least you know, give audience an idea of how that that's the thing is, while this car supposed to know where it's going. But what if things change. Great question. Were my project were working on the far end of the spectrum where were not the driver. And when you get out to know that level of challenge you want to make sure you drive every road in advance to make sure you get drivable and while we drive it we make we make a map and so our challenge when we come back in to figure out where we are in prior map and once we process we call localizing into that prior map all of the rules of the road in the lane speed limit your favorite Starbucks and everything is annotated in the event that their main challenge to understand where we are relative to everything before now. If we see something that different to your point throat change over time.
We note that we send that information back up to the cloud and the updater map in real time so we keep it fresh.
That way now I know you did ask about you. How far out in the horizon.
I didn't get around to answering. If you have the third technology that can make a car capable of driving itself. You can imagine using it in a whole array of circumstances. Maybe you've got a congested city where you click close off the downtown little mobility shuttle 10 miles an hour, maybe you have attacked the right church. There you deliver packages for a company like FedEx or Amazon.
Or maybe you have a personal ownership model where you drive a car just like you do today and cruise control is now replaced by Thomas Drive. Those are all very different business cases. Now take a different amount of time to launch a market. So what I can tell you though that the underlying technology behind all of them is probably going to be picture in the next court well and that's coming up fast, but you can't help but wonder you know road crew gets out there today and you know there set up something that's totally new and here comes a scar that doesn't know but again they're going to see that there's something there that shouldn't be there, and immediately begin to flash a warning or something but it's so cool that that you guys are working on stuff like that and think the lives of be safe. Jim, thank you so much for Vietnam with is again Ford continues to just charge out there and bring us some amazing stuff Us to appreciate my pleasure to be with you and you think that SRI will be back with so much more. You're listening to TruthNetwork.com free car repair labor for single moms widows and families in crisis Jesus labor of love. We partner with repair facilities all over the country to provide free labor. If those in need. Supply the parts Christian car guy.com just click on the big Jesus labor law manner. Check out this list, as these are certainly godly places volunteer for single moms, widows, or fill out the volunteer form to make calls or pray for those in the Jesus labor of love it. Christian car guy.com is a wonderful thing when you wash a black car that is black is beautiful to watch for 18 years old you trying to figure out how to get some of those Watson and all those things out and you wish that you had something that was miraculous for something is black. You know what you think about how could God do that he took something that was phenomenally more difficult than those water spots on that black Lincoln and fix those.
But we're gonna talk about the Lincoln here in a minute and we we certainly I sure like me and you are listening to our friend from Ford talk about that you know there's some about control. This just makes that not too appealing to me that this car is in the drive itself and then you know I don't know if you're aware of it but there same within three years, 2 to 3 years that this these new emergency brake technologies will literally be standard on all cars that are built and know they take away your ability to break in certain circumstances concerning a break for you. Whether you like it or not, and you know that's that's kind of what's coming our way. Jerry, as we see this week we got to give up our control, doesn't concern you know in an accident.
If the vehicle is being driven that way or not by human say what eliminates human error, but then where does that put liability in case it is automatic. Yes I well has to be the vehicle that was driven by human had to be responsible for because the technology and one that didn't manage us opens up in my mind it opens up a a lot of issues and even to the repair process.
I mean it's in the spiritual metaphors are all in there. So you may have of you on this and we would love to hear from you.
86634878848663487884 Stephen calling with any question, comment or whatever were talk about. Please feel free to join the conversation. It's called automatic emergency braking and that is, in all our ways, whether we like it or not.
In you know it's automatic when it sees something is going to stop your car and you know there is one of those things that just kind of there something that you know where we want to take control.
It's it's not to be the case and you can see that Ford and other people with what's common if the government says this is to be safer if you know it is hard drives itself at night because it can see 360 and you can't call out there that that's not being driven, that this cause is because all the sudden event technology people going to want to use it so not always use it safely and just a lot of issues heavy for people upon peters Creek all the Parkway up Main Street in look beside you, and there's a car that's not manned by human those little freaky so there's things are common are coming our way, but the we did want to give you an update last week we talked about you know we have the Jesus labor love car repair ministry for single moms widows across the country and we had a particular difficult situation because this lady called me from Reno, Nevada, which we have wonderful stations and in in Washington and California and Utah. We don't have any, and in Nevada and so we don't have any resources there to help her but she had was so desperate because each.
She could not get help from anybody in the an email from the government said so to speak.
She has a special needs child that's on a feeding tube and she has to take constant care of this child. She needed every Wednesday to go to the doctor appointment and she bought a head gasket or cart was $2800 was original estimate and she was beside herself to know what to do because she could not be without a car, and it seemed like she could get no help from some anywhere so she prayed she was a lady in her face. She told me she was praying and she just went and googled help for single moms and praise God. What came up with the Jesus labor love and so she contacted us and of course we only have so much in the way of resources to help and because normally we have all these volunteers like Jerry like race body shop and in so many out there which by the way, if you go to Christian car guy.com and you click on Christian car care Center shall see all the people that volunteer that they give free labor to single moms and families across the valley in crisis and we have ways that we that bad, etc. but we didn't have that there so last week I I said hey I know when I asked if it was okay if I ask for donations because we have the donation there Jesus labor love and I have to report I was just so thrilled and you should've heard her cry. We raised $470 last week that was sent to help this lady towards her and and you know miraculously that was kind of what she was short and that was good to make meet the need, and she was good to be able to take care of her daughter as a result of how God did that but the thing that amazes me Jerry about that and I just sit there and I just praise Jesus because I might know God sent the money to her any number of different ways we could even kept a car from blown head gasket. But what happened was he allowed that to happen so that she could see him in action and then we those who donated and those who prayed and those who took part in what happened last week. We all got a chance to play a part in her story to see God come through and that ends up being an Ebenezer for stoneware. She can remember not came through for me right here and and and the honor of being of the be part of that is just amazing to me and I just want to praise God on the price you know that that the heart of all those folks that that gave of their time to pray and donate and all those things which again we have needs every week in their common, but it's really cool to see God made you and you mentioned the prayer part. I made some attempt to say what can I do not think you have a way to pull it up on the website on the Internet and see some of those needs and stuff. Just just lift them up in prayer and I always tell people you know sometimes when God laid something on your heart and at a certain day if you lifted up in prayer you just think you know you may be the only one praying for that situation. That day, and so just that the power in that and other opportunities to be able to help someone as you mentioned anybody who is in that situation and asking for that help that there in a crisis and he would sit in this story where you got a child that special needs that that has is not a burden but just that added responsibility as a parent that to care for them and to be able to give them a nurturing home in and all the sacrifices they have to make. You know what is the body of Christ we can rally around people like that I mean that is this what God calls us to do.
We look at the end of the New Testament church in action step, you know that's what that test said that the foundation of the church was just people coming together under one purpose, and that was the purpose of growing closer to Jesus Christ, but also to be there to nurture and encourage and to help the family as we fall in love with God. We fall more in love with one another. That's the natural thing that that you see because everybody out there bears this image in our broken we got our issues.
If you know me you know my issues but nonetheless we wanted to thank you for doing that but speaking of broken issues. You know I had this 2002 Blackwood truck and I want to talk about that, briefly, and that you know I'm Mike, my stepmother passed away and we inherited this truck when we couldn't.
I couldn't use it in the place of old red. So my wife took is really nice truck have a lot of features that they can never replace all working to give you an update next week. I will read you can be pretty excited to hear we we may even have to rename it the little bit or something because what's all gone on little red but it's pretty cool but for this to believe the Lincoln Blackwood. Undoubtedly, you know, here's a black car in and you know God provided because Stoner car care sent me this unbelievable package Christian car guy. They want you to evaluate stuff and by the way, I get stuff all the time people have fuel additives or whatever and you rarely hear me talk about the stuff because. Rarely does it ever do what it says I'm not and I share something that you know isn't isn't going to do it, but this stuff I gotta tell you, they have a product called invisible glass and it was really really cool.
When it was raining.
Jerry noted about two days later that you know my wife's windshield wipers were great and the the time the wheel cleaner because now the brake test kits on most of these older wheels and so we scrubbed and waking up five hours later we and we brought a little bit of the kingdom to the Lincoln Blackwood but you know it was just simply a little bit and just the elbow grease to do just to contact you this I hear you tell me that the products and step it just just the importance of spending some time with your car, the longevity that getting a new life motion of an brings back at the real for you.
Also, you look at their net vehicle looks looks nice again and it was really cool because I have the tools back in the days when I recondition cars for my father and used car lot. We had all the product of the trim cleaner and you had this that the other and I'm probably too cheap to drop by to have the tools all there to do all those different things that they are a natural five hour sit back and allow this things ready for the front line to find a used car lot.
Well, where to find out about OnStar's big brother watching you and let you know that you got me so that's coming up today to more Christian car guy show all car guy show which you know with that in mind, it's pretty much weird we have nothing without that jury we really can't do anything without a man and it's just it's it's been an honor to be on these years.
Within it, you know. In that light of things.
One of the one of the seven spirits of God. My personal favorite of the seven spirits of God is this one that says it's a delight in the fear of the Lord and its it's is this place where you know God has this you know that God is in control and a standard overhead when interestingly for years for all years I was growing up, my father worked for General Motors and General Motors has a product similar to that but I can't help but note big like this kind of with you all the time. It's called OnStar and we can chime in when they want to. We have Stefan cross here with us with OnStar communications with General Motors. I bet you never had the description of what you do Stefan and your entire career. Everyone but that is cool you guys are expanding your horizons and and able to use this technology now to just save your user some money in your expanding some coverage share with us what you got going exactly what a lot of new technology vehicle in the back your vehicle so your vehicle can actually basic connectivity services. Frequently years, while so they got the button to be able to use it and it there's some really nice stuff and really lifesaving stuff that's going on with absolutely basic connectivity. You a couple creatures that really wanted to remotely mobile app mobile app to control certain vehicle command. You can start your car unlock your car, lock your door.
At the airport and the card you forgot, you lock your door you can quickly bring out your mobile app lock and be assured that your cars lock airport parking garage. There is the older Robbie app that's exactly your quickly remote start your car well, that is, that is awesome. The one that really that I'm seeing.
I guess this is something that is not quite yet. There, but did you get to have a way that you you monitor their driving habits and and given feedback but also be able to provide that their insurance company Mark driver you want on the you will monitor feedback on how they got like heartbreaking elevation time of day or night they can go online actually see how their driving it into the compiled old MacGyver or the trip how the driver worked as a parent. I'm just wondering if I had that on my daughter's car. Can I get a report that should be how she's driving yet what the owner of the vehicle you alternate your arm. You have asked permission.
Driving your car for example, by all means you can go on during awesome and so tells how it works with the insurance companies now that I understand progress is already on the board yet both progressive and Liberty Mutual are both on board right now you are the one I will work completely. Your you have a good start driver acrylic jerk discount this court. You can choose to extend that score anonymously. The insurance company on the company will review it okay to qualify for discount and will send it back to us and will alert the customer that you actually do qualify French or progressive is so cool. Well, if you look in your crystal ball. Now what do you see coming on the horizon from OnStar that really has you excited yeah what a lot of snow introduced 4GL you might find where vehicle model years ago and working a lot of milk not only built in Wi-Fi hot spot in the vehicle so that passengers could eat like I also opened up a lot of potential for new future services one and I'm really excited about is called proactive alert check to predict when a problem in your vehicle before it occurs in the neat thing is like you say to having that conductivity to where there's sort of a human that's connected to your car that can help you out, and in certain circumstances, a wonderful idea and a wonderful network and God bless you guys.
I'm so glad that your you're watching out for state. I'm glad that part of the General Motors family and elocution that we have provided 24 seven.
Bless you, thank you. Appreciate the fun Jerry to have both Ford and General Motors on this week. I don't think I've ever had both in the same week. Well, maybe you have but it's been a few years but there's a lot of stuff out there and there there constantly improving the technology in those kind of things but you know there's some about me that just says you know if you'll take care your car in all grades out there and the good news is I think a minute pick it up Monday that it's been kind of rejuvenated so again I get a real big update on that on the old red that's my 1995 Dodge Dakota with 388,000 miles on it when it decided to it it it it it had a milkshake to its oil and we blew the head gasket and so there's a lot of stuff commentary you know and as you mentioned, just common sense stuff.
A lot of things you know you don't need this is just that, like all start in those those are just tools, but unless you take the initiative to follow through and in block comes just common sense to me like I can also into the body shop stuff. I can give you at the driver report only taste sudden break and 90 know your your break when you hit another object or we have a lot to come in just what people are careless and Stefan just don't take the initiative to behind the wheel. Being cautious and careful when being aware of your surroundings and also just the maintenance of the vehicle.
As you said is just common sense stuff just fine and and then there's you know, like a lot of men we like to know we have what it takes in. And when you take for five hours on a Saturday or Sunday when you have the time to got to spend time with your wife's car and you do all that stuff when you when you sit back and you look at it and you go out. I feel God's pleasure, like the guy ran a marathon like I could see God was thinking you know that you did some good hero. I can see better when it rains and and all the stuff so it out there. Enjoy your cars today. Thank you so much for listing to the Christian card I show but Jerry one piece of advice. Don't go waxen before retaking the body know that it will pull in the car got an appointment. I just cleaned caught waxing, only with employee under that hard to remember slowdown.
Jesus walked everywhere he went, got it all done in 33 years.
Thank you for listening to Christian card
