The DNC Is About To Devour Itself ft. Alex Marlow and Savannah Hernandez

That's the question I get asked the most when people say, run into me on the street or see me in an interview, et cetera. What do you think is really going on? Because we're seeing all this enthusiasm happening for Kamala Harris and this new Democrat ticket, but what's the reality in America?

The reality is not that great. We got some new consumer price index data today. This is the inflation data that's perhaps the most important to check.

Check this out. We've got food inflation is up. The big deal. Rent inflation is up. Home Depot just put out a warning that people are not doing as many home renovation projects. So it doesn't sound like things are thriving. A core CPI, which excludes food and energy, another big detail that we cover at Breitbart, 3.2% year-over-year rise. That's nearly double what we had under President Trump. And yet, we're being told that everything is going so great, we can just focus on the Kamala Harris coronation.

You go to some of my favorite publications like the Daily Mail. Lead story this morning is Trump is just in disarray. Everyone is upset with various members of the campaign. There's huge infighting. Everyone thinks J.D.

Vance was a bad pick. But you read the article, and the only name source in it is Anthony Scaramucci. The mooch is back and he's trash talking, and that's getting lead headlines. The media is whipped up in a frenzy over the Kamala Harris-Tim Walz ticket, but the reality just does not seem to be there because Trump is winning in the Daily Mail's own poll by two points. So what really is the story of this election? Everything that I'm seeing so far indicates that that story is the white working class voter. And you don't have to take my word for it. You can take CNN's word for it. What CNN is saying is that overall, Harris is making huge strides with the white working class. Now, do any of you believe this? Given the immigration, given the open borders, given the fact that she's been soft on crime, given the fact that thanks to her and Joe Biden's watch, we had fentanyl streaming over our border and ravaging these communities, given the fact that their globalist policies are what outsourced American jobs overseas, cleared out all those factories, cleared out so many of our energy states so that we could buy oil from other places around the world, sending our strategic oil reserves to places like China, do you think the people who have been affected by that are actually moving in the direction of the most radical ticket of all time? Now, I personally don't. It doesn't mean we should rest on our laurels and become poll truthers.

But when you're seeing the most radical ticket we've ever seen, when we said Kamala Harris, arguably the most left-wing candidate ever, and then she picks a more left-wing vice president on the ticket with her, then how do you expect the white working class are going to be the people who are going to stand up and deliver this election for her? I'm just not believing it for a second. So I spent a fair bit of time with President Trump last week. And it's always really interesting to see what's on his mind. As you might imagine, when you do interviews with President Trump, he's the alpha in the room. So he controls a lot of the conversation.

But of course, I'm going to ask him, what's the strategy? What is the race has changed? You were going to cakewalk with Joe Biden in there. Let's be honest, he was. It was Joe Biden's jaw was falling out of his head during the debates. So how do you take on a young, vibrant candidate who has got energy, even though she did a terrible record, and he just basically said, we're going to focus on the record, we're just going to hammer it. She fundraised to bail out rioters. She's never been popular. She's someone who wants soft on crime policing, open borders, even says she's against Christmas.

She's come out against Christmas. So we'll be expanding on that at Breitbart.com in the next couple days. But what's noteworthy is that Trump feels like the key to winning is a record.

And what is your record? It's almost nothing. The only economic record that we know of her is that she was the tie-breaking vote in things like Build Back Better, which became the Inflation Reduction Act. In that act, what she did in all the Democrats is she wanted more IRS agents, tens of thousands of them, to do things like producing taxation on tips. Now, Trump says, we're not going to tax tips. And all of a sudden she thinks, hey, that's a great idea.

I'll take that idea, no taxation on tips. But it is a completely plagiarized idea from Donald Trump. And it's one that her recent voting record suggests she's got the opposite opinion. So she's very vulnerable on issues like the fact that she was someone who benefited from affirmative action, was someone who is the anointed candidate of the donors, has never received a single delegate in the Democrat primary. All of that stuff is a big deal. Remember, she was a close ally of Google and Facebook, someone who was helpful to them protecting their own monopolies. And she worked very hard to undo the work that President Trump did at the border.

All these are crucial. But it's really hammering those key things, hammering those key points about her record. Open borders, soft on crime, the tampon Tim, tampons in the boys room. This is how Trump is going to win the election, at least according to him. But is that going to be enough with the media doing what they're doing, which is acting as though she's the chosen one, she's got all the momentum, and Trump's campaign is in disarray, even though things seemed kind of calm while I was over there.

Now, I'm not a deep insider in Trump world. I'll tell you, everyone seems like they're doing pretty good. And all this media hype that they don't like the JD Vance pick, everyone seems to love the JD Vance pick. And I'll tell you where they're really going to love it. They're going to love it when JD goes out to some of these shutter factories, which he will do. And he's going to go out to some of these places in rural America that have been ravaged and devastated by the Biden-Harris administration policies. They're also going to love him when he finally gets into a debate with Tim Walz.

So Tim Walz, as you guys might know, the left wing guy, and he's playing to these working class sort of hillbilly but lib attitudes. The public is going to see through that. He's got strong ties to China, stronger ties than Joe Biden does. Recall that he set his wedding date on the fifth anniversary of the Tiananmen Square Massacre. His company has deep ties to the CCP. CCP needed to know everything that he was doing so he would have been an easy target for the Chinese Communist Party to try to basically infiltrate the American government. All of this needs to be looked into in the deep level. So he's clearly someone who's going to be targeted for Chinese influence.

And there's no evidence to suggest that he avoided it because he's been a lifelong signophile. That's what he is. And, of course, his stolen valor record, which he was on defense for this week, because of what he's done, which is exaggerate his military service. And when JD Vance gets up there on the debate stage against Walz, he's going to point this out. And Walz is going to try to pivot.

He's going to act like you're denigrating my service, you're disparaging me, etc. But that's not at all what's happening. What's going to be happening with Governor Walz is that he's exaggerated it in order to gain his political clout that he has. And that's where a line that Americans are just not willing to cross. As we've gotten more godless, as we've gotten away from some of our Judeo-Christian roots in a lot of ways, propriety in public life is just not seen as that virtuous anymore. People don't care as much as they used to. But one third rail in American life, for sure, that everyone seems to agree on, is you can't steal valor.

It's not something you can do. You're not allowed to steal valor. And when you're out there exaggerating your record, then lying about it, and then acting as though that you have some sort of PTSD because you were in Italy eating a bunch of cannolis. I'd say he wasn't doing other cool stuff too. I'm sure he was. I'm sure he served honorably, all that stuff. But you can't act like you're a combat vet when you're not. And you can't act like you're suffering PTSD when you don't.

And then use those things to leverage your political clout and advance your career, especially when you're the type of guy who's doing business deals overseas with the Chinese and then acting as though you're some sort of uncular middle America guy. He's not. And the public is already seeing through it, which is why the momentum has clearly shifted. And that's why I expect the polls to catch up. But hey, you can't be too sure because this is going to be an absolute dogfight. The media, the donor class, the establishment, they're all in to get the Democrat ticket elected. We've got a woman who's against Christmas, four open borders, wants to take your guns and wants to defund the police. She has picked a radical loud-mouthed jerk who's lied about his military record and his deep ties to China. How could this ticket possibly win?

Well, the only way is to hide them. That's the strategy. Let's play cut 84 please from CNN guys. Would it kill you guys to have a press conference? Why hasn't she had a press conference? Listen, the Vice President and Governor Walz have been busy crisscrossing this country since the launch of this campaign and adding Governor Walz to the ticket. You saw the ways in which they went across the battleground states last week, generating rallies of thousands, 10,000 here, 15,000 there. But Michael, you know a campaign rally is not a press conference.

Do you mind if I cut in? I mean, you know, a campaign rally is not a press conference. Why hasn't she had a press conference? She's the Vice President. She can handle the questions. Why not do it?

We absolutely are going to do it. You hear her take questions as she's out on the stump and she's, as she said last week, we're going to be having a sit-down interview here before the end of the month. I don't, I don't want to, you know, belabor this, but one interview before the end of the month.

I mean, that's, that's not a lot. I mean, can you commit to a press conference before the end of the month? We will commit to directly engage with the voters that are actually going to decide this election. Not the press. They won't talk to the press. After all of this press conference, the press coverage, think about that Time magazine puff piece that Kamala Harris got with the picture that looked like Melania, as Trump said, the sketch of her.

She wouldn't even answer questions for that. So they're clearly trying to avoid the media. And what my fear is, is that it will work for them. My fear is that they don't need to talk to them because you're going to get positive coverage anyway, because the media works so hard to get Biden removed. So they're all in on getting Kamala elected if she talks to them or not.

It's a pretty epic power move if you think about it. But when CNN's Jim Acosta is the one who's suggesting, hey, can you guys talk to us please? And their answer is, well, she's having a rally. And they think they can get away with that.

They really do. They think this strategy is a winning strategy. Remember, no press conferences. She hasn't done a single interview and she hasn't posted a single policy position online. She's been a candidate for almost three weeks.

I think over three weeks at this point. This is why what Donald Trump did with Elon Musk was so impressive two nights ago, that they sat for two hours and they went back and forth. And they opened up about what they think to the American public. And it's significant for both men. That's why I include them together. Charlie and I did a long conversation about this when I was a guest on the show yesterday.

So I won't belabor a lot of those points. You can get that in the Charlie Kirk podcast. But this is so amazing as Trump does this in his sleep. All day, every day, he holds court with whoever wants to talk to him. And he loves it.

He lives for it. And there's nothing that's off the table with him. And then you get Harris who thinks that she can just exist and that's enough to win. I could not resist this clip of Eric Swalwell defending her for not laying out her policy agenda.

Let's play 58, please. Congressman Swalwell, to your point about Kamala Harris, why hasn't Kamala Harris laid out her policy agenda? It's not even on her campaign's website.

So she's doing that this week. She's talking particularly about her economic message. She's also been going across the country, filling arenas and talking about what she's going to do on the rights that were robbed for women when Roe was taken away. The border crisis that she's going to solve, that her economic policy won't benefit billionaires. Okay, so she likes abortions. And she's going to tell us what she thinks of the economy at some point this week.

I'm not holding my breath on this. We know what she thinks of the economy. She wants to tax waitresses.

That's what she wanted to do when she passed Build Back Better, or the Inflation Reduction Act, whatever you want to call it. Can we put Swalwell on the bench, please? We've got a guy who has deep ties to China on the ticket now.

And then you've got the guy who is sleeping with Fang Fang Fang, the Chinese agent. What is he doing in the Congress anyway? And why is he being invited to opine on this stuff? Now that Walz is on the ticket, I think they should really send Swalwell to the bench.

It's just irresistible. Are they trolling with him out there? I don't think they are. But this is true. Kamala Harris has not laid out her economic position because why? She's got no record. Her record in the economy—I'm a Californian, so I know this—her entire record is whatever Joe Biden did as president. And that's led to massive inflation. And Americans feel like the American dream is dying, and it's because of the Biden-Harris ticket. That's what she's got to contend with.

And that's why she hasn't put out a policy position. The DNC is heading next week to Chicago, where crime is out of control. It's a city that has 337 murders so far this year. That's the highest of any American city.

And so it is literally the murder capital of America. They've got crumbling infrastructure, schools that are worse than we've ever seen, and we have some resident Chicagoans on the Breitbart staff. And taxes keep going up, and it seems like the city has no hope because they ousted Lori Lightfoot, and what did they do?

They replaced her with someone more radical. So the city's also got this massive level of unfunded pension liabilities, so they might be headed towards a bankruptcy. And pretty much, people are leaving in a lot of ways.

If you can move, you're trying to get out. It's always been corrupt. But the exchange, people thought, was the corruption, was at least you would get some sort of level of competence in government, and you'd get some sort of services. Well, not really right now. Chicago's a mess, and yet they put the DNC there, and I don't know if the Democrats are going to get what they're bargained for, because there's massive levels of protests that are being anticipated, tens of thousands potentially.

This could be chaos. And I do think that this is a huge reason why Tim Walz was selected over, let's say, a Josh Shapiro, because Walz is a favored crowd of the pro-Hamas wing of the Democrat Party. And it is something—I just spoke to President Trump about this. He was saying how the Democrats have become the pro-Hamas party. He said Chuck Schumer is basically a Palestinian now. This is what the left is grappling with right now. Do they continue to pander to these radicals and their list of demands? Well, that is what we have in store for us this week. Savannah Hernandez, TPUSA contributor, has been out there trying to document some of the degradation and devastation the city of Chicago has faced. You're going to have to watch the video to get the full context, but guys, let's get some of the audio.

Let's play this. Now in Chicago, as a direct result of Kamala Harris's border policy, we have seen 46,000 illegal immigrants make their way to this city. $300 million in taxpayer dollars have been allocated to the food, the shelter, the medical care for these migrants. Meanwhile, the average Chicago resident has been expressing a lot of frustration because they feel that these migrants are being treated better than them. Also, let's note that Kamala Harris, who is supposed to be here for the DNC next week, who was deemed a border czar by Joe Biden back in 2022, has been trying to escape that title.

But it is her policies that have brought Chicago to where it is right now. Let's bring in Savannah Hernandez, Frontline's reporter for TPUSA. Savannah, it looks like a war zone out there. I mean, what did you see?

Absolutely, Alex, thank you so much for having me on. Well, first off, I thought it was very important for Turning Point to be on the ground and in Chicago ahead of the DNC, because as we've seen previously, we know that political leaders love to clean up the cities before political conferences or world leaders are said to arrive. Let's not forget when Gavin Newsom went and cleaned up downtown San Francisco because Xi Jinping was set to arrive, but refused to do it for the residents of California. So I really wanted to come to Chicago and be on the ground before the city had the opportunity to potentially do that as borders are Kamala Harris supposed to be here next week for the DNC. And like you just said, it's a war zone.

I would venture to say that that is accurate. Let's take a peek at the headlines of the United States of America, not only in Chicago, but also in New York and California and Texas. Take a pick of which U.S. state you want to, and I guarantee you, you can find a headline of any illegal immigrant that shouldn't be here attacking, raping, murdering, robbing an American citizen. So the border policy has gotten completely out of hand and here in Chicago, because I have reported on this extensively nationwide, my new crisis here is actually extremely visible. Now you can walk down the streets of downtown Chicago and you'll see these migrants with signs saying, please help me. I need medicine.

I need food for my children. There's a lot of little kids out here on the street, which is something different that you might see from New York, for example. But there's also a lot of single aged men. Now I've put myself in a pretty dangerous situation to get on the ground work, but I'll be honest with you, Alex, when I tell you that I was quite nervous to be around a lot of these single migrant men that are just out here on the streets of downtown Chicago. I was actually walking down the street last night and I was getting back called by some migrants that were on scooters.

So it's not a safe environment. And this is what the DNC is looking like just one week, or Chicago is looking like just one week ahead of the DNC. It just blows your mind because it feels like a self-own, an own goal by the Democrats because Chicago is a mess because of their policies, both their failure on a local government level, and then the open borders policies that have led for this migrant crime wave that they're not setting their best.

President Trump was correct about that. And now they're there catcalling reporters and it just is such a terrible look. How do you expect they're going to save face? That is a great question because the way that the city has been trying to fix this issue, and this isn't just in Chicago, this is nationwide, is by taking migrants out of downtown areas and pushing them into these suburbs. So a lot of those suburban voters, a lot of, for example, here in Chicago, those black residents feel very disenfranchised because they see the government not only providing shelter, food, medical care to these migrants who shouldn't even be here, but on top of that, they're pushing them into the neighborhoods and the communities of lower income residents who have been asking for government assistance or for the government to do something for years.

Like you played in that initial video, the city of Chicago has spent $300 million on people that shouldn't even be here and they're treating them better and then on top of that, pushing them into these neighborhoods. So, you know, it's a really interesting place that we're at ahead of the election and I think we do need to continue to hound home that once again, this is Kamala Harris's border crisis. She was deemed the border czar back in 2022. She has spoken out against ICE multiple times. She has called for free medical care for illegal immigrants. So what Chicago residents are experiencing right now and what Americans nationwide are experiencing right now is a direct result of this administration and, you know, they keep promising Kamala specifically that she's going to clean it up when she gets into office, but let's ask the question, why haven't they cleaned it up over the past four years?

Why do we have 12 million illegal immigrants in our country that shouldn't be here right now right now? It's such a tough spot because she's already in office and she was the border czar and people want to act right. She wasn't absolutely. If you look at the definition of border czar, that was exactly what was laid out for her by Joe Biden. So don't blame me, blame Joe. Joe put her in charge and she accepted the challenge as far as we could tell.

And she did a terrible job. Give a girl the truth about what's happening in her body so that she can make the right choice. Two hundred eighty dollars can save ten babies. Twenty eight dollars a month can save a baby a month all year long. Click on the preborn banner. I don't even understand why they put the DNC there to begin with. I mean, Illinois is not a swing state. I guess Chicago looks cool from drone footage, but it's just other than that, what's it got going for it right now? I mean, that's about it. So, Savannah, let's turn to these protesters.

And I want to get your sense of what you're anticipating next week. And let's play. You've got a Fox clip of the Gaza protesters laying out some of their demands is cut eighty nine.

Can you play this one? And in a statement, pretty solid message here towards the DNC, they said with one week to go before the Democratic National Convention, protesters are coalescing around three demands for all elected officials call for a lasting ceasefire, reject the American Israel Public Affairs Committee and legislate an arms embargo. Those are their demands.

So it's basically calls for let Hamas win and disavow Israel. And it just it's the Democrats are completely stuck here because they can't do this and keep their donor base. And if they don't cave to some degree, they're going to lose some of their voter base. You know, it's such an interesting situation to look at, Alex, because as we like to say, the left eats their own.

And this is what we're seeing right now. We are seeing the creation of a decade, really, of the Democratic and progressive left pandering to communists. And now they have taken over and they're taking over city streets. They're going to be violently protesting for the DNC next week. I've been monitoring a lot of their groups and organizations, and they're going to be busing people in from all over the nation for one of the biggest protests against the DNC because they want their demands met. And a lot of the groups as well are the same ones that have previously shut down Chicago O'Hare in road blockages similar to this one. So don't be surprised if next week you can't fly out of Chicago and everybody is stranded here on behalf of the Israel Palestine issue.

So, you know, something to look out for next week. The radical left has gotten completely out of hand in this country. And that, again, too, is a direct result of Democratic and progressive policy that has brought us to this point, right, where we have citizens who think that it is okay to use violence, to use domestic terrorism against their fellow counterparts or even politicians to get their point across.

So this election season is very interesting because, like you said, we're just at a very interesting cross point, I would say. So I'm told producer Mr. D knows Chicago very well. And what he's telling me is protesters are going to block Lakeshore Drive. Every person he knows in the city is clearing out. It's going to be a global rally of radicals. So people are going to be descending from all over the world. And he thinks it could be 40,000 total protesters from 200 different groups. I mean, this is, from a news perspective, I couldn't be more excited about this, Savannah, but are you nervous to be there on the ground?

Because this is legit dangerous. I am, especially since, let's remember back in 2020, it was Chicago that was the epicenter of a lot of those violent riots for George Floyd. This is a city that is known for its protesters. And we already have seen what looked like threats of violence against DNC participants from Antifa members in the city. I was just watching a video from one of the organizations here in Chicago yesterday.

And they were saying, protesting, it's not supposed to be peaceful, essentially. So I think we all know what's going to happen next week. Like you just said, from a news perspective, I think that it's going to be very exciting.

But from the perspective of an on the ground reporter, I mean, I never liked seeing the civil fights that are happening. And it's been crazy. Sanctuary City, Chicago, home of the DNC.

What a perfect place for it. And Savannah, you'll be there all next week, I'm guessing? Yes, I will be. So what are you looking for? Where are you going to start? What are you hearing? And give us a taste of what you're anticipating is going to be front and center for the conversation.

Sure. So again, front and center, of course, are going to be those protests. I have seen so much movement on social media of a lot of these pro-Palestinian groups that are going to be busing people in from all over the nation. So I am anticipating that what we saw in Washington, D.C., for example, when Benjamin Netanyahu came for a visit to Congress is potentially a taste of what we may be seeing in Chicago. Like I was saying in that previous segment as well, let's not forget that Chicago was the epicenter of some of the most violent protests during the 2020 George Floyd riots. So there is a big portion of the population here that will take advantage of a situation and root or loot and riot just because the opportunity is available. So I do think that the tensions are going to be high next week. And like you said, the Democratic Party right now is really in this very strange point where they're having to balance the wants of their very progressive and radical voter base who are coming in, threatening violence, threatening to shut down roadways. And I do think that we're going to see the shutdown of major highways here, potentially Chicago O'Hare.

We'll see what ends up happening, but that's what's going to be going on next week. And then, of course, too, you do have that migrant angle as well. Actually, one of my sources is telling me that there are going to be migrant groups here, too.

Now that we're talking about this, I'm remembering this from this angle. There's going to be migrant groups here protesting on behalf of illegal immigrants, saying that the Democrats need to give illegal immigrants full citizenship, full health care. So that is something else that's going to be happening here. And again, based on this week's reporting, there is quite a large population of illegals here in the city already asking for more benefits from the government. So it's interesting because you're trying to force the issue and try to get normal people to pay attention to the reality of the Biden-Harris administration policies, which is essentially open borders. And I know that they're doing some things to try to shore up some places between checkpoints. But the main issue is still catch and release, which is this parole system that we have in place where you simply just claim that you have a legitimate right to be here and you're released into the country.

And you'll probably never get a court date. And then if you do, you might not show up and you're basically free to put down roots and take resources from Americans who are here legit. And that's the stated policy of this administration.

That's their number one goal. And all those Northern tribal agreements and the cessation of the wall and the ending of Title 42. All of this is a reality that Americans are living day to day. So it puts the Democrats in a terrifically tough spot. We had a report from earlier this week at Breitbart how a Biden-Harris agency is freed an illegal alien in the US.

And just a couple of months later, he rapes and murders an 11-year-old girl. These stories should be top tier issues for most major outlets, but they just want to announce how much joy Kamala Harris is bringing to the ticket. Are these all acts of joy that you're witnessing there in Chicago right now, Savannah?

Absolutely not, Alex. And again, what needs to be hounded home is that American women and children are absolutely not safe under this administration. We had a similar story come out of New York just yesterday as well, where you had that Haitian migrant that raped a 15-year-old in one of the shelters. And guess what?

He just got out of jail. So ICE's request for him to be deported were completely ignored. And we were seeing cases like this every single day. And I would implore the average American, if you really think the issue is that bad, to go to the ICE press release website, right?

Anybody can go do this. And you can read headline after headline of illegal immigrants that were caught. Sometimes they already do have records, but they're released into the United States of America. They commit crimes. Even if they're arrested, they are re-released onto the streets and they continue to attack American women and children.

And it is currently open season on them. So under Kamala Harris, you know, she's not for women like she claims to be, because if she was, she would be keeping women safe. And she absolutely is not. And going to your point about Title 42, because I did do on the ground reporting in El Paso during that time, I spoke to a migrant who broke into our country illegally. And the date that they gave her to return to court was three years after she broke into the country. So this is back in 2023. She now gets to live legally in the United States of America with these NDA papers. And she doesn't have to go to court until 2026.

So just an idea of how badly things are being run here. You know, a lot of these migrants are being shipped to sanctuary cities in which they cannot be deported by ICE because of the laws that are protecting them. And then they're getting free medical care. Oh, and by the way, too, Alex, another thing I was discussing here in Chicago is the outbreak of measles and tuberculosis. I was walking down the street just yesterday, two minutes outside of my hotel. A migrant's talking to me about how he contracted tuberculosis in a migrant shelter.

He went to a hospital. It's one of the main reasons, Savannah, why you need a border is to prevent diseases from coming in. Savannah Hernandez, Turning Point USA Frontlines. Terrific report.
